On Mario Courtney Lopez digging into the bus.
Speaker 2 (00:27):
Because Ryan Gosling is headed to a galaxy far far away.
Speaker 1 (00:30):
On with Mario Hollywood Buzz.
Speaker 3 (00:33):
Well, another new Star Wars movie is in the works.
Speaker 2 (00:37):
I mean, talk about milking a franchise, but I'm here
for it. If there anything like the new TV shows
on Disney Plus, this one is.
Speaker 3 (00:45):
Set to star Ryan Gosling.
Speaker 2 (00:46):
Film will be called Star Wars Starfighter and it's a
standalone film. It's unconnected to the Skywalker saga. Would be
taking place after the last installment. Sean Levy, who had
a huge hit with Dead When Wolverine, has had to
direct and that the script is so good with great
original characters, but it's gonna be a minute before we
get to see it. Star Wars Starfighter isn't gonna be
(01:08):
in theaters until May twenty twenty seven. Also announced Pedro
Pascal in the Mandalorian Engrogu movie.
Speaker 4 (01:17):
There are so many movies I can't even keep them straight.
I have no idea who's connected to who. I have
no idea who betrayed who. It's just a plethora.
Speaker 5 (01:29):
Of what are those called labs lightsabers. I also know
there's too much dialogue in and Or That reason came
out for the second season.
Speaker 2 (01:39):
I want to see that too, but I know you
won't watch it with me. I'm gonna have to watch
it when you're gone. Oh maybe i'll power it through
while your way.
Speaker 3 (01:44):
That's what I can watch with. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:46):
More Mario Lopez on the way.
Speaker 3 (01:48):
Mayril Courney Lopez. Here was some quick buzz for you.
Speaker 2 (01:51):
Oscar voters are now going to be required to actually
watch movies they are voting for.
Speaker 3 (01:56):
What were they.
Speaker 5 (01:56):
Doing all this time not watching them prior to that?
Speaker 3 (01:59):
That is ridiculous. How do you vote for something you
don't watch? Exactly?
Speaker 5 (02:02):
The vote is voting for the actors they like.
Speaker 2 (02:04):
Academy members will now have to watch all the nominated
films before they vote, and we'll need to submit a
form showing where they saw the films.
Speaker 3 (02:12):
Well, you could just line to that. I think you
need to take a quiz or something to really get
in there.
Speaker 2 (02:18):
Al Mario, Courtney Lopez more music now, and they're going
to make a quick stop into Courtney's corner to see
what helpful life hack she's got for us today. In
the meantime, we'd love to play a song for you.
Speaker 3 (02:26):
So if you've got a song you want to hear,
hit me up at All and Mario on X. You're

Every week my wife hooks us up with some live
hacks to make lad just a little easier for us.
Speaker 3 (02:38):
What you got today in Courdo's corner?
Speaker 4 (02:40):
Well, the other day we talked school graduation, which means
once that's over, it's essentially summer. So we're talking summertime hacks.
So here are a few. Did you know dryer sheets
can help repel mosquitos?
Speaker 5 (02:53):
Yes you did, Yeah, my grandmother used to tell me
that whole the time.
Speaker 4 (02:56):
WHOA Okay, well, all you do is keep a few
in cupsrever you're sitting outside, and it will help mask
your scent from them. Well that's a good one, very good,
But then reuse them because they are expensive. Vinegar can
help brighten up patio furniture. Put them in a water bottle,
mix it with a little water and sprits it onto
your chairs or table and it'll help bring back some
of that shy.
Speaker 3 (03:16):
We need to do that to some.
Speaker 4 (03:18):
I wonder if that'll help my face. If you're at
the beach, and bring some baby powder to help remove
sand at the end of the day, to sprinkle it
on your feet. We'll remove the moisture from the sand
and you can just dust it off and then you
smell good.
Speaker 2 (03:31):
I always bring like a gallon of water to kind
of help wash it off, but this might be easier.
Speaker 4 (03:36):
Staying cool when you're out and about on a hot day.
Bring a spray bottle with you, miss yourself when needed.
They have all those spray bottles with the fans now
that you can use more.

You were just revealed as NeSSI on the latest season
of The Mass Singer. And Robin think where that was
actually able to guess you?
Speaker 3 (06:59):
Huh he he pulled that one out.
Speaker 6 (07:03):
I shouldn't be surprised.
Speaker 7 (07:04):
For as good as singer as he is, he would
definitely be able to figure it out.
Speaker 3 (07:09):
That was good.
Speaker 1 (07:09):
Eight.
Speaker 3 (07:10):
That means you got a distinct voice. How'd you end
up on the show? Were you a fan?
Speaker 7 (07:12):
Before my manager called and said, hey, what do you
think about being.
Speaker 6 (07:17):
On the mass singer? I was like, absolutely, that sounds
like an adventure.
Speaker 3 (07:21):
Yeah, And how hot was your suit? Cumbersome? How difficult
was it to sing?
Speaker 6 (07:26):
It was one.
Speaker 7 (07:27):
Hundred and forty seven thousand degrees in that see gosh
you but you know I normally sing with a microphone
and I'm and they you know, because they have a
headset option and I'd never done that, so I was like,
you probably ought to just stick with the microphone.
Speaker 6 (07:44):
But it was It wasn't that bad. Once I had
the ice vest on, you know, once I was wearing
I had a vest and I had.
Speaker 7 (07:52):
Ice packs in it, and you know, in between takes
they would have fans blowing in there.
Speaker 6 (07:56):
It was fine.
Speaker 3 (07:58):
Good for you, man, what a true pride ed? When
hang tight, quick break, We're going to come back with
Edwin McCain.

Speaker 6 (08:24):
And you know Lee's been.
Speaker 7 (08:26):
After me for a while to make a record and
I finally relented.
Speaker 6 (08:30):
And you know, for as.
Speaker 7 (08:33):
Great a singer as Lee is, he's equally good.
Speaker 6 (08:36):
As a producer. He's a fantastic producer.
Speaker 2 (08:39):
Nice And you're also heading out on a big tour
later this summer with the Guys Train.
Speaker 3 (08:45):
How do you go by a narrow and down a
setlist with Cataloggi?
Speaker 7 (08:48):
Guy, That's a good question, actually, and I'll I have
a pretty good idea of.
Speaker 6 (08:54):
What I want to do, and then we'll.
Speaker 7 (08:57):
See if it works the first couple of shows, and
if it doesn't, we'll make some adjustments. But you know,
I usually start with a hit and close with a hit,
so you know, like I've got two big radio songs,
and so you know, it makes it easier because I
can open with one and close with the other.
Speaker 3 (09:16):
Yeah. No, I like that strategy. Edwin Hank Tight a
few more songs when you come back.
Speaker 2 (09:22):
Catching up with singer Edwin McCain in this hour what
a Mario Lopez here and Edwin.

Yeah?
Speaker 7 (09:31):

one song.
Speaker 7 (09:38):
He does called Whirlpool and Future Love Paradise and we
cover Teddy Pendergrass and Our.
Speaker 3 (09:47):
Suff Hey, which Teddy p song? I love TKO Yeah,
just another I love that song. That's great.
Speaker 7 (09:54):

Speaker 7 (09:55):
He was one of the first concerts I ever went
to when I was a kid.
Speaker 6 (09:59):
And I think I'll like ten.
Speaker 5 (10:00):
Years old, is that right?
Speaker 7 (10:01):
And Petty walked on the stage and women started screaming
so bad. I thought something had gone wrong, Like I
thought like there was an emergency, and I got scared,
and then the first bra went flying by and I
was like, oh no, everything's fine.
Speaker 3 (10:19):
That guy's got one of the coolest voices ever. That's funny.
All right, more with Edwin McKay and coming up a
first more music. You're al Mario Lopez.
Speaker 2 (10:27):
Edwin mcame on zoom with us, and I know you're
also big into TikTok. You make some pretty cool videos
with your daughters.
Speaker 6 (10:34):
I never even so. I was one of those gen
xers that refused to engage social media in any way. Yeah,
and so the people in.
Speaker 7 (10:43):
Our office would post tour dates on there and I
never I just didn't.
Speaker 6 (10:47):
I just didn't mess with it at all.
Speaker 7 (10:49):
And then the pandemic hit and I was stuck in
the house with my kids, being the worst high school
teacher in the state of South Carolina, and we quickly
migrated into TikTok Land, and I've never looked back.
Speaker 6 (11:05):
I love TikTok.
Speaker 7 (11:06):
I love it for the for all the different points
of view and all the like so many different people
like I would never have a chance to understand, you know,
their perspective, and if you you approach it from that standpoint,
it's a really cool thing.
Speaker 6 (11:24):
I mean, I know social.
Speaker 7 (11:25):
Media it can be kind of a marass sometimes, but
I really enjoy it for all the different people.
Speaker 2 (11:32):
I agree, and I like to take advantage of spending
the time with the kids and stuff. It's like documenting
cool home videos. So I'm with you on that, all right.
Speaker 3 (11:39):
Edwin hand Ty. One more thing I want to ask.
We're gonna say quick break, come back and wrap it up.
Speaker 1 (11:43):
You're the full interview now on with Mario dock More.
Mario Lopez on the way.
Speaker 3 (11:48):
Wrap it up with Edwin McCain. Mario Lopez here and Edwin.
Speaker 2 (11:51):
I can't believe it's been almost thirty years since your
big hit, I'll Be Really Really put you on the map.
Did you feel strongly about that song when he first
wrote it?
Speaker 3 (12:00):
You know it was going to work her.
Speaker 6 (12:01):
Well, it had to because I was down to the wire.
Speaker 7 (12:04):
I was about to get dropped off the label and
the president of Jason Flahm called me and said, listen,
whatever you turn in next needs to be great.
Speaker 6 (12:14):
And I was like, well, that's the one song I'm
working on I feel pretty good about.
Speaker 7 (12:18):
And you know that was just one again, that song
swooped in and saved my career, saved my life really.
Speaker 6 (12:27):
And I'd love to tell you that I knew, but
I didn't know. I mean, I felt like it was good.
Speaker 7 (12:32):
We played it at a show and people responded to it.
Speaker 6 (12:36):
But it's so hard to know, I mean, and the timing.
It has to do so much with time.
Speaker 7 (12:41):
Yeah, our business is kind of hitting hope.
Speaker 2 (12:47):
Now you're exactly right, well, ay man, I love it

I Heeart Radio was bringing you five things. Was Zara
Larsen all in celebration of her new single pretty Ugly.
Got to interview her recently. What a sweetheart Sweden. Super
witty and clever and funny and beautiful.
Speaker 3 (13:32):
And great dancer. I'm a fan.
Speaker 2 (13:34):
You can check out the video now on iHeartRadio's YouTube
channel exclusively for My Heart Radio and On with Mario.
You're on Mario Courtney Lopez digging into the buzz because
word is Kelly Clarkson wants to focus on her kids.
Speaker 1 (13:48):
On with Mario Hollywood Buzz.
Speaker 2 (13:51):
So Kelly Clarkson reportedly considering leading her daytime talk show
next year to spend.
Speaker 3 (13:56):
More time with their children.
Speaker 2 (13:57):
Despite the show being wildly popular, Kelly reportedly wants to
step down once her contract expires this year. She's host
to the show for six years, but people are saying
that the singer wants to focus on her ten year
old daughter and eight year old son and is planning
to spend a lot more time in the South. Yeah,
you know, I love Kelly first, we all love Kelly,
(14:18):
and the show is a lot of fun, and she
is awesome about doing her Kelly OK and really doing
the song sometimes better than most of the artists.
Speaker 4 (14:26):
Sometimes all the time. You watch all the time.
Speaker 3 (14:29):
But it's a lot of work.
Speaker 2 (14:30):
Doing a daytime talk show in and of itself is
a lot of work. I can't imagine doing a song
every day on top of that, so that's even more work.
And when you got your kids young like that, they're
only young for so long, and I know she's making
a lot of money, but she's made a lot of money,
so you know, I can't really falter curious to see
what happens in that time slot.
Speaker 4 (14:51):
Yeah, I mean, for sure she will be missed, but
I don't think she will disappear. I think she'll still
do amazing things and maybe put.
Speaker 2 (14:59):
Out a new Absolutely, I don't think she's retiring at all.
I think just maybe the everyday duties. And at the moment,
it's just a rumor, so we'll see what happens.
Speaker 1 (15:09):
Or Mario Lopez coming up.
Speaker 3 (15:11):
Oh with Mario. Courtney Lopez saw this and I thought
it was really interesting.
Speaker 2 (15:15):
If you wake up at three am randomly, apparently you're normal.
According to new medical research, one third of us apparently
wake up around three am about three times a week.
Psychology Today says that's a common occurrence and it's age related.
As we get older, our natural sleep cycle transitions around
three am, which is when we switch between deep.
Speaker 3 (15:33):
Sleep and light sleep.
Speaker 2 (15:36):
You know, I can't make it through the night without
having to use the rustaurant at lease one time.
Speaker 3 (15:42):
I have to. I don't want to. I never want
to look at the clock. I don't look at that,
don't I do.
Speaker 2 (15:46):
I don't because I start doing math in my head
and how many hours It messes me up. It messes
me up because sometimes I feel like, if it's if
I'm only like an hour away, which is still.
Speaker 3 (15:55):
Pretty good amount of time, I'll do a countdown in
my head. It'll mess with me. But I bet you
my be closer to around three am.
Speaker 4 (16:02):
You know what this I can attest to because for
some reason, I am like a two fourteen am person.
I constantly wake up around the same time. So I
don't know if that has anything to.
Speaker 3 (16:14):
Do with this or wild I don't know.
Speaker 2 (16:18):
Music rolls on as we get ready to go to
one last thing, Mario Courtney Lopez.
Speaker 3 (16:22):
Here is still a little time to get a song
or two on.
Speaker 2 (16:24):
By the way, if you got a request, slide into
our DMS over on Facebook add.
Speaker 3 (16:28):
On with Mario.
Speaker 2 (16:30):
John Mario Courtney Lopez quickly squeezing in one last thing.
The notorious kool Aid Man challenge is back. That's when
people usually teens smash through fences like the kool Aid
mascot did back in the eighties commercials.
Speaker 5 (16:42):
Oh yeah, oh yeah.
Speaker 2 (16:44):
It's reportedly happened at least three times in Staten Island,
New York. It was a big issue back in twenty
twenty three, triggered by the same social media trend. Police
say taking part in this challenge is destructive and dangerous
and could lead to arrests. A lot of these trends
that the tide pod eating challenge.
Speaker 3 (17:01):
Under that, there's some really like, oh man, it doesn't
make me feel good about the future.
Speaker 4 (17:07):
They really run through metal fences. I'm confused.
Speaker 5 (17:10):
Well, it'd have to be wood. I think, yeah, you'd
probably find like a wood fence.
Speaker 4 (17:13):
So they're not just putting up a piece of paper
that they run through at the arounround.
Speaker 5 (17:16):
No, if they want to be legitimate, I think you
gotta break their wall.
Speaker 6 (17:19):
Right.
Speaker 5 (17:20):
In fact, Coloyd Man broke their brick walls. That's true.
Speaker 3 (17:23):
That's true. Yeah, so they're going through fences.
Speaker 4 (17:25):
I assume the kids doing this aren't the smartest tools
on the show.
Speaker 1 (17:28):
Well, Mario Lopez will be right back.
Speaker 3 (17:31):
That's it big.
Speaker 2 (17:32):
Thanks again, Edwin McCain for zooming in on Mario dot
com for more of our chat more.
Speaker 3 (17:35):
Fun tomorrow till then, Mario Lopez saying good night
Speaker 1 (17:41):
With Mario Lopez,
