I'm the baby. I'm not supposed. I'm not sure if
you're suppose to reveal the gender he's but he's a
real nice guy that talks about It's been with his
wife twenty nine years. She's Brazilian like one hundred percent Brazilian.
Speaker 3 (03:36):

Roxbury reference.
Speaker 3 (04:08):
By the way, Yeah, okay.
Speaker 2 (04:10):
That's it. I haven't seen that movie in a long time.
I doubt it holds up, but it's a nice snap
of a moment in time. Yes, he's gotta be sixty three. No,
sixty three is correct.
Speaker 3 (04:21):
Hey, it took you a minute more.
Speaker 1 (04:25):
Mario Lopez coming up?
Speaker 2 (04:27):
You're al Mario Lopez. Music rolls on as we take
a look at the buzz because a friend's actress says
Matthew Perry sent her a sign after his passing. Maggie Wheeler,
who played Janice in nineteen episodes of the sitcom, also
lost her brother to addiction and says after Matthew passed away,
she was alone in a pool and she received a
sign via two hawks after asking her brother to look
(04:49):
out for Matthew. Ooh, almar dot com to find out
what went down. Check a few more songs, taking a
fire up zoom and chat with the Queen of Latin music,
Gloria Stefan war. I'm Courtney Lopez here.
Speaker 4 (05:00):
New album is on the way. Conga is about to
turn forty if you can believe it. So lots to
talk about when Gloria joins us.
Speaker 2 (05:06):
Next soberal Mario Lopez joining me right now, the queen
of Latin pop, multi Grammy winning artists. My friend Gloria Stefan,
How are you, Gloria? I'm good, not as good as you, clearly.
Oh you're so sweet, you know. I love you and
your husband Emilio, who I recently got to work with
(05:26):
for hosting this universe. Not too long ago we were necessary.
That was a lot of fun. That was a lot
of fun. But back to you. You've got a new
album coming out later this month called Risis, your first
all Spanish album in eighteen years. What made you want
to go back to your roots?
Speaker 6 (05:43):
Elio. It's funny because a couple of years ago he
comes to me with this song. Today he says, and
he said, Babe, I wrote this song. You know. I
know I'm supposed to be writing because he works with
a gazillion artist at the same time.
Speaker 1 (05:58):
They never stop some man.
Speaker 6 (06:01):
Because but this song is for you.
Speaker 2 (06:03):
I really want you to do it.
Speaker 6 (06:04):
And I was involved. It's been three years.
Speaker 2 (06:07):
I've been working on.
Speaker 6 (06:08):
This musical with Emily, the music and the and the
lyrics and everything for an original Broadway.
Speaker 2 (06:13):
Musical called Basuda.
Speaker 6 (06:15):
Actually we have our name the Recycled Orchestra of Paraguay.
These kids that live up right, they live off the
grid next to a landfill and they created an orchestra
out of They make the instruments out of the trash
that their parents survive on. And it's the inception story.
(06:36):
So I was really deep into this. Who are working
together with a book writer? And I tell me you, babe,
you know I can't divert And he goes, well you
trust me.
Speaker 1 (06:45):
I go, absolutely, I trust you.
Speaker 6 (06:47):
Those would you let me write more material for you?
Speaker 1 (06:50):
I go, you know, I love what you do.
Speaker 2 (06:52):
Absolutely, that's so special. That's very cool. A right, Gloria,
hang on quick break, They're going to come back with Gloria.
Speaker 1 (06:57):
Ste Mario Lopez coming up.
Speaker 2 (07:00):
Getting back to Grammy winning artist Gloria Stefan, who's hanging
out on zoom Mario Lopez here, And it's been a
minute since you've toured. Any chances people will get to
see you on the road in the future.
Speaker 6 (07:10):
Well, I'm going to be in Benedifa, actually Spain on
July twenty first, twentieth there's a big festival going on there,
and I know there's plans for going back to Spain
later on. You know, we've been thinking about it. We've
been working a bit since I'm working on this, on
this musical. It's also tricky for me now to commit
to something. But if there's a chance to do like
(07:33):
short spurts of things, I would absolutely love to get
back to the fans and just make that connection again.
I don't think I would do like a whole world
tour because I tell me I didn't work.
Speaker 2 (07:44):
It's hard to work this hard, right, I mean, I
know exactly.
Speaker 6 (07:48):
It's beautiful to be with the fans, but it's.
Speaker 1 (07:52):
A lot of work, and it is.
Speaker 2 (07:53):
I'd be away from home.
Speaker 6 (07:55):
I don't want to miss my grandson's life.
Speaker 2 (07:57):
So we'll work at it here and there.
Speaker 6 (07:59):
Absolutely.
Speaker 2 (08:00):
All right, Well, we're gonna have more with Gloria Stephan
coming out the first one. You say, you're all Mario Lopez,
Lauria Stephan on zoom with us this hour, new album
on the way. And you're also voice saying speaking to
Grandma and Grandma Gigi in the new Gabby's Dollhouse movie
coming out later this year. You need to work with
kristin easy.
Speaker 6 (08:18):
I mean, I am a grandma even though you know,
my grandson says to to. Some people don't understand. They think,
like you're out and traveling and they ask me, does
she recognize you? Like we're super tight. So when I
got the opportunity and I saw the you know, the script,
(08:38):
I go, oh my gosh, like I'm all over this first.
Speaker 2 (08:42):
It's magical.
Speaker 1 (08:43):
I'm a magical grandma.
Speaker 6 (08:44):
That it was just very special. I get to be both,
you know, a live action character and animated. Oh cool,
little animated character is so cute.
Speaker 2 (08:55):
Oh that's gonna be fun. That my kids are right
in that wheelhouse. So looking forward to checking that out.
All right, One more thing I want to ask so
hang tight, come back to wrap it up with Gloria.
After a quick break wrapping up Gloria, stepan who's been
hanging on zoom with us this hour Mario Lopez and
I can't believe this, but this year fortieth anniversary of
legendary song Conga blowing up worldwide. I wow, and I
(09:17):
just and I remember vividly when that came out and
seeing the video and stuff going, and then the songs
actually being honored at the Grammy Hall of Fame gala
in a couple of weeks.
Speaker 1 (09:26):
Right, yes it is.
Speaker 6 (09:28):
I shall be there to celebrate Gonga.
Speaker 2 (09:30):
I can't believe.
Speaker 6 (09:30):
It, like forty years of Conga and fifty years of career.
E Milo didn't realize it when when I did this album,
I said, bab, you know it's it's gonna be my
fiftieth year that I joined the band in seventy five, Like, no,
it can't be. I go.
Speaker 1 (09:46):
Yes, it is.
Speaker 6 (09:47):
To have Conga honored in this way, and the Grammy
Hall of Fame is really special, especially since.
Speaker 2 (09:53):
It still gets.
Speaker 6 (09:54):
Played everywhere you're in all kinds of TV shows and movies.
It's still doing it, so it's very exciting for me.
Speaker 2 (10:02):
It's like art. It just it's timeless. It's awesome. I
love that and I love you guys. So I hope
I get to see you in person soon and listen everyone,
please be sure to check out Lauria's new album Brices,
which drops May twenty ninth everywhere. Gloria, thank you so much,
thanks for checking in. Hello, oh good. Please tell them
I said.

squeezing in some stuff you've sent our way. What'd you
find in our mentions today?
Speaker 4 (11:37):
Honey, this is from at carly Coontrue and she said,
now that I'm over thirty, I'm putting a tariff on
hanging out.
Speaker 3 (11:44):
You want to hang that's thirty percent? You want to
hang after eight pm? Well forty five percent.
Speaker 2 (11:50):
You know what I got retaliatory since tariffs are trending.
I like that move. Yeah, that's a good move. I
like that move. I want to start doing that with
my friends.
Speaker 5 (11:58):
You hang out with someone and they show up late,
a percentage, we're gonna.
Speaker 2 (12:01):
Get a tariff. I'm going to the kids. We should
put tariffs on the kids.
Speaker 4 (12:04):
I guarantee by the end of this year there will
be babies named Tariff.
Speaker 2 (12:08):
Maybe you never know. Tarah Lopez, Tarff Lopez that's pretty
good for like a pet.
Speaker 1 (12:13):
More Mario Lopez coming up.
Speaker 2 (12:16):
On with Mario Courtney Lopez and I'm glad spring's finally breaking.
But that also means a beginning a mosquito season. In
most of the US. We really don't get attacked by
mosquitos here in California, but we do now a little.
It wouldn't I feel like that one Like we visit
my center in huge something like other places those are
like Jurassic Park Mosquito. They're huge, the same way in
(12:37):
Georgia and stuff. It's ah, it is awful, next level.
Was it like that in Pittsburgh? No, it's probably too cool.
So it's just the South. Yeah, I think it's just
like here.
Speaker 5 (12:46):
For the last few years, there have been some which
I didn't experience any of the first they don't.
Speaker 3 (12:50):
They don't like me, so even if they're here, I
don't know.
Speaker 2 (12:53):
Well, if you get bit, don't scratch it, wash it
with soap and water or even baking soda and water
to minimize the itch. Sometimes I'll scratch so much I'll bleed. Yeah,
I'll get it because it's so exactly well, you don't.
Speaker 4 (13:05):
Even realize when you're getting bit. You only see the
bump afterwards exactly.
Speaker 2 (13:10):
By the way, if you have a Mosquito Life act,
please slide it into our DMS over on Facebook at
on the Mario You're All. Mario Lopez saw this and
thought it was interesting. Your nose maybe calling the shots
when it comes to your friends. A new study out
of Cornell says scent, not just looks or vibes, is
a big part of why we instantly connect with people.
(13:31):
That makes someone's natural scent in their go to deodorant
or colonne. It could actually predict chemistry better than appearances.
So next time you meet someone and you just click,
it might be less about what you see and more
about what you smell. I agree with this. That's why
I make hygien a top priority and make sure I'm
always smelling on point and the cologne is good to go.
(13:52):
I'm blown away by the red or blue, red or blue,
it depends neither or day. I'm blown away by the
surprising amount of celebrities who vocalize not showering. That trips
me out, and there's a lot of them. It's puzzling.
It is. Hit me up on X let me know
what you think. At on Mario Mario, Courtney Lopez more
(14:14):
music coming your way. But I wanted to squeeze in
this thing. I saw the New York posts. So celebrities,
as you know, have a tendency to give their kids
names that are sometimes well, unusual or unexpected. But out
of all of them, can you guess which is the
most hated by expectant parents. North is a good guest,
considering how much controversy Kanye. Is there a Chicago kid too?
Speaker 3 (14:38):
Yeah, but I just don't like North.
Speaker 4 (14:41):
It's not the name North specifically, it's the Northwest.
Speaker 2 (14:44):
Yes, I can't.
Speaker 3 (14:46):
No, there's a really strange.
Speaker 4 (14:48):
He's a guy and he has a really strange their kids.
Speaker 2 (14:52):
Is well, Chris Brown's daughter is royalty.
Speaker 4 (14:55):
No, No, this is really really strange and I can't
think of it right now.
Speaker 2 (14:59):
I know another kid, not a celebrity. Name your majesty, Really,
your majesty, your majesty. There's so many, I mean, well,
the answer apple the name. Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin
named their daughter baby named. Consultant Colleen Slagan came to
this conclusion after sending expecting parents a questionnaire asking their
naming likes and dislikes. The most common example they gave
(15:21):
is we don't like names like Apple. Okay, maybe it's
got a little something to do with Gwyneth Paltrow in
the way they feel about her too. It could be.
Speaker 5 (15:28):
But also I think Apple is probably the most known
one because it was so bizarre, because Gwyneth starts all
those weird things like the conscious uncoupling, right, So I
think maybe she's the most known. So that's why she's
referenced the most.
Speaker 2 (15:46):
If you're wondering, by the way, Slagan charges three hundred
dollars for a forty five minute zoom what meeting to
help parents find the perfect name for their bundle of joy?
That is such a choice of trying too hard?
Speaker 3 (15:57):
Are you kidding?
Speaker 2 (15:58):
Good for Slagan though, And I saw.
Speaker 1 (16:00):
More Mario Lopez.
Speaker 2 (16:01):
On the way Omar and Courtney Lopez time to make
it a little weird with Cordo's random thoughts. What you got, honey?
Speaker 4 (16:09):
So apple watches are just Tomogatchi's except the stupid animal
you're trying to keep alive is yourself.
Speaker 5 (16:16):
Ooh, it does tell me when i'm when I need
to stand, It tells me, yeah, if I need to.
Speaker 3 (16:22):
Walk more I need to get an apple.
Speaker 2 (16:24):
Want to boss me around? Actually, okay, okay, you're a
Mario Lopez inching closer and closer to graduation season, Yes,
which can sometimes make you nostalgic for your own high
school days. Ah, because the new survey is bringing down
some of the stuff we did back in the day.
Apparently sixty seven percent of us lie to our parents,
(16:44):
half of us got grounded, and a third of us
snuck out of the house at night. Well, I rarely lad.
I gotta be honest because I was afraid of the consequences.
But a couple times when I got a little sprung
in my sophomore year within older woman, there was some
life and I did get caught. That did not end well. Obviously,
I got grounded a lot. Never try to sneak out
(17:05):
in the middle of the night, my sister did. If
I had fun one day, I couldn't have fun the
next day. Yeah, that was it.
Speaker 5 (17:11):
That's kind of your version of being grounded.
Speaker 2 (17:13):
I couldn't have had fun one day. My dad did
not allow us to have fun the next day. That
you had fun yesterday, you got to work today. That's
it all right, Back to the music, j'all marrow Courtney
Lopez digging into the bus because Paris Hilton was just
named Woman of the Year.
Speaker 1 (17:28):
What on with Mario? Hollywood Buzz.
Speaker 2 (17:32):
Another big honor revealed this week. Paris Hilton was honored
as Woman of the Year at LA Magazine's La Woman
Luncheon the other day. At the event, she shared the
advice her mom gave her before she started The Simple
Life back in the day. She said, quote, my mom
always taught me the importance of giving back. I will
never forget. The night before The Simple Life aired, my
mom told me, Paris, when the show airs on Fox tomorrow,
your life is going to change forever, and I always
(17:53):
want you to remain the same, sweet, down to earth girl.
You are never forget that. Paris says she's carried those
words around with ever decades and is grateful to repair
vents her keeping her grounded. We happen to know her
parents and they're very sweet people, and.
Speaker 5 (18:04):
She actually is pretty ground He's pretty nice to be
worth like billions of dollars.
Speaker 2 (18:07):
You no, she's grounded, And somehow she's managed to look
the same for thirty years. She hasn't changed. That is
impressive in and of itself, and she looks the same
without looking overly done cosmetic wise. Right, right, that's impressed.
She's like frozen in time. She is she really is
body face everything right, it looks great. Hasn't changed since
the nineties. Mario Lopez will be right back, Oh, Mario
(18:28):
Courtney Lopez quickly digging into the buzz because Lebron James
is teaming up with Barbie and making toy history. Lebron's
getting his very own Ken Dolls. Mattel's first ever Ken
bassetter for Barbie, obviously, is going to be taller than
the regular Ken dolls. That's funny and features James wearing
a Varsity jacket, Beats headphones, and Nike Terminator high top shoes.
(18:48):
Failable pretty much everywhere. But it's got a seventy five
dollars price tag. I'm sure my mom will want one.
Speaker 4 (18:54):
I love that they're doing this, I just wish they
wouldn't charge so much.
Speaker 2 (18:58):
Yeah, because now you've really narrowed down who can be
able to get this this dob But all right, Lebron James,
Mario Lopez here are getting close to the end of
our radio fund. Just one last thing to get to
plus probably enough time to play a request or two
before I get out of here. So if you got
a song you want to hear, hit me up at
all Mario on X.
Speaker 1 (19:19):
ALL.
Speaker 2 (19:20):
Mario Lopez about to head home, but not before we
get to one last thing. A sequel to The Goonies
is officially in the works. We asked Cory Fulman about
it when we stopped by recently, but he couldn't say much.
Here's what they recently said when they dropped by the
Today Show.
Speaker 7 (19:32):
They're doing it. Whether we're doing it or not, another story.
Speaker 2 (19:36):
That's it.
Speaker 7 (19:36):
But I can tell you for sure, Spielberg and Chris
Columbus have a recipe and they're planning on something. We
wish them well and if they come to us, we'll
consider it.
Speaker 8 (19:46):
At that time, after it came out, Steven Spielberg sent
me a poster saying, I'm still a goony, how about you.
He's wanted to make the sequel, and he's the sole
reason it hasn't been made now because it hasn't been right.
The fact that he is endorsed this next thing is
why we know what's gonna happen, and it's why it
has every chance to be spectacular.
Speaker 2 (20:04):
Oh that's awesome. I'm excited. Little kidding me is excited.
My boys like it, so we'd have to watch that
one together. Hopefully it comes to Fruition.
Speaker 1 (20:13):
Or Mario Lopez next.
Speaker 2 (20:15):
All right, that's it. Thanks so much for hanging out.
Have you missed anything or just want to relive some
of our fun hit up ALLMRI dot com and more
fun tomorrow.
Speaker 4 (20:22):
Until then, this is Mario and Courtney Lopez saying good night.
Speaker 1 (20:25):
ABOW with Mario Lopez
