Speaker 2 (03:58):
Mono Tune so before we get our hands on the buzzers, Fraser,
what is the theme or is there a theme?

Speaker 4 (04:04):
There is a theme. It is uh, basically like throwback
spring break jams. So these are all songs that were
played in spring Break back in the day, so on MTV,
back in whose day, all of our days, all of.

Speaker 2 (04:16):
Our days, back in the day when I was young.
I'm not a kid.

My quiz guy put this together and I.

Speaker 2 (04:21):
Told him you got Okay, let's see how good your
quiz got.

Speaker 4 (04:23):
I told him, make sure that everyone knows these songs.

Speaker 2 (04:25):
All right, hands on buzzers.

Speaker 4 (04:28):
Here's the first one.

Speaker 2 (04:29):
One point for the artist, one point for the song.

Speaker 4 (04:31):
Yes, woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo. Ride
that chow choo woo woo, Ride that chow choo woo woo.

Speaker 2 (04:43):
I know this one. Oh that's my buzzer.

ride the train and ride it.

Speaker 4 (04:57):
Come on and ride.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
Yeah, what's what's it you to say it? I said,
all right, who's the artist?

Speaker 4 (05:03):
So one point. Who's the artist, Mario? Come on, ride
the train, Come on, fie two Live Crew incorrect. Quad
City DJ, I know that Quad City DJs two thousand,
Quad City DJ. Zero.

Speaker 2 (05:23):
Allright, I'm so mad? What is zero?

Speaker 4 (05:25):
Courtney's winning? Uh? One more in this round? Here we go,
check one one two. I came into this world as
a reject. Look into these eyes. Then you'll see the
size of the Flameshika incorrect.

Speaker 2 (05:41):
Come on, starts too.

Speaker 4 (05:43):
Then you'll see the size of the flames, size of
the dwelling on the past past. It's burning up my brain.

Speaker 1 (05:50):
Hot.

Speaker 4 (05:52):
Everyone that burns has to learn from the pain. Hey,
I think about the day days my girley ran away
with my pay when fellas came to play play. Now
she's stuck with my homies.

Speaker 2 (06:06):
Okay, that's enough. Let's see.

Speaker 4 (06:08):
And I'm just a sucker with a lump in my
throat like a chomp hey, like a chomp hay, Like
a chomp hay, like a chomp hay like a chomp hay.
No idea, nothing, neither one of you. Do you want
to take a second guess.

Speaker 2 (06:20):
I'll take a second guess.

Speaker 4 (06:22):
Neo incorrect. NOOKI limp biscuits. It's one to zero. We're
going to take a break, come back.

Speaker 1 (06:32):
And do another more Mario Lopez coming up.

Speaker 2 (06:36):
Round two, monaltoon. You're on with Mario Lopez, trying to
get songs based solely on hearing the lyrics. The score
is currently one to zero. This is tough. Just one
in this round.

Speaker 4 (06:45):
Hands on the buzzers, all right, here we go. I'm
just a bachelor.

Speaker 2 (06:50):
I'm just a.

Speaker 3 (06:53):
Take me to my limit?

Speaker 1 (06:54):
What is it?

Speaker 2 (06:55):
What is it? Genuine?

Speaker 1 (06:56):
Yep?

Speaker 2 (06:58):
Did then I recognize us?

Speaker 4 (07:00):
Nope?

Speaker 2 (07:00):
For you?

Speaker 4 (07:03):
Come on, what is it? I need it?

Speaker 2 (07:06):
I got it.

Speaker 4 (07:07):
You're done, You're done, You're done.

Speaker 2 (07:10):
Correct?

Speaker 3 (07:14):
You saw itself, Carolina, I'm mad at myself.

Speaker 2 (07:20):
He'd be jumping his knees.

Speaker 4 (07:21):
His knees are not holding up these days. If you've
seen that video. All right, it's two to one. We're
going to play some music. Come back and to another.

Speaker 2 (07:29):
You're more. Courtney Lopez in the middle of a game
of mono tune guessing songs based on an emotionless read
of the lyrics. Score is is it two to one?
You're winning? Yes? All right, let's get to the next one.

Speaker 4 (07:42):
Hands on, buzzers, all right, stop what you're doing, because
I'm about to ruin.

Speaker 3 (07:48):
Humpty Dance? Is your chance?

Speaker 2 (07:51):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (07:52):
I got it on the Humpty Dance is.

Speaker 4 (07:58):
You don't know?

Speaker 2 (08:00):
Nope, digital underground.

Speaker 4 (08:01):
That is correct. So it is now three to two.
Well play some music, come back and wrap us up.

Speaker 2 (08:07):
Final round of Today's Pop Quiz, playing mono two and
guessing songs based only on lyrics. Mario Courtney Lopez. Here
the score is three to two. Quarto is win the lead.
All right, let's wrap it up. There's just two left.

Speaker 4 (08:18):
Here we go. It was a clear Black Nights. That

Speaker 2 (08:22):

g was on the right to consume. Just hit the
east side in the ALBC. What is it regulate yep?

Speaker 4 (08:32):
Artists Orange correct and Nate Dog and Nate Dog.

Speaker 2 (08:35):

Speaker 4 (08:38):
What is it now?

Speaker 2 (08:39):
Four to three? Three?

Speaker 4 (08:40):
All right, four to three. There's one left.

Speaker 2 (08:42):
Here we go.

Speaker 4 (08:43):
This is it.

Speaker 2 (08:44):

this and see two one two live cru incorrect Any guesses,

(09:16):
sixty nine boys, Oh the sixty nine boys, Okay.

Speaker 1 (09:19):
More Mario Lopez coming up on.

Speaker 2 (09:22):
Mario Lopez quickly look at the buzz. Hulu bringing out
the acts and canceling seven shows, the fans expressing their
extreme dissatisfaction online. Some of the shows Hulu is cutting
include Solar Opposites, How to Die Alone, This fool Ah
with My Buddy, Frankie Kenonez. But that was a funny show,
and the Demilio Show. You know, it's it's tough out there,

(09:45):
and sometimes it's not about the show itself, but they've
made obligations to other shows. There's only so many slots
on the schedule. It becomes political. You never know. They
may resurface. Music rolls on, You're all Maria Courtney Lopez.

(10:13):
A few more songs are gonna fire up zoom so
we can chat with Ty Pennington. A new season of
HGTVS Rock the Block, just premiered, so we can get
the scoop on that. Ask about the story I saw
on his near death experience. That's wild. We're going to
talk about all that and more when he joins us next.
What's up? You're a Mario Lopez Jody you right now?
Actor and TV host Ty Pennington. What's going on?

Speaker 1 (10:33):
Ty?

Speaker 2 (10:33):
What's happenant? I'm doing well, Buddy, I am doing well.
Season six year hit show Rock the Block just premiere
on a GTV for people who may not be familiar.
Tell me about it.

Speaker 5 (10:43):
So, yeah, this is like their biggest show, right. So
you've got four houses, four teams. You know, these are
identical houses on one acre land. We're out in Utah,
just outside of Salt Lake City, so it's like really
big lots, beautiful view, and these these teams have to compete,
and you've got veterans versus rookies. So it's one of

(11:03):
those things where each week, whether it's the kitchen sort
of living room or it changes each week and I
sort of give them these huge challenges. But this year,
we've got people that have been to the Block before,
and then we've got these newbies, these rookies that are
trying to make a name themselves, and so it's just
a very fierce competitive, you know show. These guys are

(11:24):
trying to not only create this beautiful house that's eventually
going to be sold, and of course whoever creates the biggest.

Speaker 2 (11:30):
Value is the winner.

Speaker 5 (11:32):
The question is you're going to stick to you know,
making it, let's just say, more functional, like creating more.

Speaker 2 (11:36):
Storage, or you're going to make it like more.

Speaker 5 (11:38):
Beautiful to look at, because that's a sort of debate
like what is better design, what adds more value?

Speaker 1 (11:45):
You know?

Speaker 5 (11:45):
So it's it's awesome because you get a real variety
of styles and talent. It's sort of something for everybody.

Speaker 2 (11:52):
I would say, that's awesome. Well, you can check out
Rock the Block every Monday night on a g TV
Ty hank Ty quick Break. We're gonna come back with
some more Ti Penning cent.

Speaker 1 (12:01):
More fun on the way on with Mario Lopez.

Speaker 2 (12:04):
Getting back to Tie Pennings in from agtv's Rock the Block.
What up Mario Lopez here and Ty? I gotta say, man,
I love that the winning team gets to make a
huge donation to charity as well. But I want to
ask you you've been in the home renovation game for
over twenty five years. Now, what would you say is
the most affordable, sort of easy home improvement people can
do that increases their home value is the kitchen the move.

(12:26):
If you had to pick one.

Speaker 5 (12:27):
Room, I mean, look, yeah, I mean I think whenever
you upgrade your kitchen or your you know, sort of
your your main bedroom bathroom, that's always going to do it.
But a kitchen is where everyone like it's become the
new living room. So let's face it, people are putting
double dishwashers in like you know, it's it's where you

(12:49):
show off your bling and your your you know, your
brass faucets. It's like, you know, we've gone, we've stepped up,
just like the cooking game, you know, because of these shows,
like we've really show them like we can take it to.

Speaker 2 (13:01):
A whole new level all of us.

Speaker 5 (13:03):
And I think that's also why we watch these shows,
because we're like, ooh, I like that that marble with
that brass, and that's exactly what you get with Rock
the Block. But yeah, if you're going to put some
money in, because that's what's.

Speaker 2 (13:13):
Going to raise the value.

Speaker 5 (13:15):
I say, whenever you can open up a space and
you know, whether it's a big window that you're bringing
in more light, or it's a new island with you know,
ample seeding, because let's face it, the formal dining room
just really isn't used anymore. I mean you know what
I mean, It's like maybe once a year. So yeah,
I would take advantage of that space.

Speaker 2 (13:35):
I agree. Okay, very cool, Ty hang time for me,
going to play a few more songs, come back with
some more time. Penningson a Mario Lopez Ti penningson on
Zoom with us talking about agtv's Rock the Block. But
you're also in a movie just came out called No Address.
This one's delving into homelessness, right.

Speaker 5 (13:52):
Yeah, I mean it's an incredible cast. But I love
that these guys not only did a documentary raising awareness
of it, but they also brought in actors and and
sort of told the stories of people that you know,
end up on the street, and whether it's a kid
that's in the foster care system that like gets too
old and has to you know, end up with a
family and sometimes it's rejected from that family and then

(14:14):
they literally have no option but the street.

Speaker 2 (14:17):
And it's it's a story.

Speaker 5 (14:18):
Of people taking care of each other that have no home,
and and that's sort of you know, they sort of
create their own community, and that happens all over the US.
But I think it's really important that the reason why
it's called no address is when you are homeless, Like
if you don't have a mailbox, you can't get your
driver's license, you can't get proof of social Security, you

(14:38):
can't it's really difficult to get a job. And it's
interesting that once you lose that, once you lose that
that solid address that you're used to, you just become
like sort of unlivable, Like it just changes the your
entire trajectory. So and it happens to a lot of
people in America.

Speaker 2 (14:56):
It's just crazy, all right, Ty, Well, hate time for
me a few more songs and when it come I
can wrap it up with Ty Pennington. In the meantime,
hit up almar dot com to check out a tree
the for Tis movie No Address. As we get back
to the music, wrap it up with Tid Pennington from
AGTVS Rock the Block. You're allin, Mario Lopez And before
you go, Ty, I heard you almost had a near
death experience about eighteen months ago. True.

Speaker 5 (15:18):
Yeah, So I was in LA for the Barbie show thing.
We were doing this AGTV show, and you know, I'd
had to throw this sore throat for a couple of days,
and I was like, it's nothing, you know, It's just
I'm just doing some heavy mouth breathing or something. I
don't know what it was, but I so I went
to dinner and I was like, god, man, it like
really hurts you swallow. And I was like, hopefully we'll

(15:39):
be all right. So I left the next day for
dinner because I was starting a show called Battle in
the Mountain and that night I was going to get
up and you know, basically you know, start the show.
But about three or four in the morning, I heard
this whistling sound and it was the air going through
my esophagus cool and like it was closing and I
never felt that before. And and all of a sudden,

(16:00):
my heart started racing because I was like, like what
if I just stopped being able to get air in?
And I was like, dude, this is crazy. So I
drove down to this hospital at like three in the morning.
I was like, Hey, can you guys give me a
shot of benadryla or whatever. It's going to do to
you know, under the swelling. And the doctor was like, well,
what if it's more than that. I'm like, well what
else would it be? So then they put like a

(16:21):
camera down there and they saw this abscess that was
like behind my uh the thing that you get taken
out when you're a kid whatever that is the unsoles, Yeah,
tonsole And so this is crazy and the guy's like, look,
we we can't do what we need to do here,
and I go, what do you mean? He goes, well,
it's right next to a huge artery and if we

(16:41):
miss and we cut you, you're going to be dead
in like five minutes.

Speaker 2 (16:44):
And I was like Jesus.

Speaker 5 (16:45):
So they had to like fly me down to Denver
and it was crazy, and I but look, so many
people have died of exactly this thing, and so like
I realized it was a very real thing. And I
got really lucky because I was able to survive it,
you know, and like I found out how much people
love me because I was like, you know, news almost
dies and was great, but like it's a real thing, man,

(17:06):
Like you just never know. And I think I got
it from a friend of mine's daughter who went to
camp or something and she came back and like, I
guess she had like something on it. And it's just
like a virus that gets attached to you back of
your throat. It's crazy, damn it.

Speaker 2 (17:18):
Anyway, Well, I know, I'm glad you're okay. Brother. Glad
you're okaying is me too? So listen everyone check out
Season six of Rock the Block, air Monday nights on
AGTV and streaming on max Tie. Thanks for checking in YouTube, brother.

Speaker 1 (17:31):

More Mario Lopez on the way.

Speaker 2 (17:36):
You're all Mario Courtney Lopez, quickly saying thanks again to
ty Pennington for joining us. More of that chat, including
some stuff you didn't hear on air, up now at
allmrio dot com, along with the full interviews with everyone
who stops by All Mario Lopez about to dig into
the bus because Time magazine is named the one hundred
most influential people of twenty twenty five, We're gonna come
back and break it down after a few more songs.

(17:57):
Don't move, Mr Lopez digging into the bus because Time's
one hundred most influential people at twenty twenty five have
just been named.

Speaker 1 (18:05):
On with Mario Hollywood Buzz.

Speaker 2 (18:08):
So Time magazine does this every year. They named the
one hundred most influential people of the year and they
break it down into six categories. Artists, Icons, leaders, Titans.
How do you differentiate an icon on a titan?

Speaker 4 (18:24):
Well, they do it.

Speaker 1 (18:25):
They do it.

Speaker 4 (18:25):
You'll see when I name some of.

Speaker 2 (18:26):
These, Okay, pioneers and innovators. So who are some of
the people who made the lists here Frasier.

Speaker 4 (18:31):
Under artists, we have ed Sharon Scarlett, Johansson, Kristen Bell,
Adam Scott, and Josier who influenced your son?

Speaker 2 (18:39):
That's right, Yes, Okay, that's a good list. They have
had big years.

Speaker 4 (18:43):
Under icons, Demi Moore and Adrian Brody.

Speaker 2 (18:46):
Okay, Adrian Brody has been on the scene for a while,
but not as long as Demi Moore or maybe I'm
not familiar with it because I feel you do have
to have many years under your belt to achieve icon status.

Speaker 4 (18:58):
I don't feel like he's been around as long as
anymore like that. I don't think you're close to the
same age. So yeah, it's a little that's a strange one.

Speaker 2 (19:04):
But maybe he started when he was young. We're just
not that familiar, but okay.

Speaker 4 (19:06):
I mean maybe yeah, maybe maybe he was a kid
actor or something. A bunch of politicians, President Trump, UK,
Prime Minister Kurse, Starmer, Mexican President Claudia Shinbaum.

Speaker 2 (19:14):
Yeah. Look at Mexico having the first female president and
Jewish president all at the same time.

Speaker 4 (19:19):
Do you know what number president she is? I do not,
do you sixty six?

Speaker 2 (19:23):
Is she really?

Speaker 1 (19:24):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (19:24):
She is, wow, sixty six and I learned that today
and Trump is forty seven and forty five.

Speaker 1 (19:31):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (19:31):
So Mexico is a lot older, so yeah, it makes sense.
Okay here Michel was a lot older of a country,
so yes.

Speaker 4 (19:37):
Some interesting choices under Titans, Blake Lively interesting, Lauren Michaels
That one kind of makes sense, yes, Serena Williams, Joe Rogan,
Mark Zuckerberg. Some interesting people.

Speaker 2 (19:48):
The Blake Lively is an interesting tries that controversial to feathers.

Speaker 4 (19:52):
I feel like they did that to get some headlines. Yes,
lots of interesting people under Pioneers, including musician Miles Smith
whose songs star Gazing has been a smash hit on
our Countdown. All right, and finally, in the Innovator category
two stand Out Snoop Dogg and Nicky Glazier.

Speaker 2 (20:06):
Really, hey, you know what you made the list? Congratulations?

Speaker 1 (20:11):
All right, more Mario Lopez coming up.

Speaker 2 (20:15):
Music rolls on Mario Lopez with some quick buzz for you.
Travis Kelce seemingly confirming that bad blood between t Swift
and Blake Lively Taylor's eagle ead fans notice Kelsey unfollowed
Blake's husband Ryan Reynolds on ig over the weekend. One
Reddit user even calling out the social media shade on Sunday,
dropping just the word yikes. Meanwhile, if you want to

that as we keep the music coming your way. Got
a song you want to hear, please hit me up
on Facebook add on with Mario. All right, Mario Lopez

(21:00):
is here, Almost time for us to pass the migment
out before we get to one last thing. Scientists say
they've uncovered a new, never before seen color, a vivid
blue green hue that they've named Olo. Ooh okay, scientists
are wilding out. Color was perceived during an experiment in
which laser pulses were fired into participants' eyes.

Speaker 4 (21:19):
We're supposed to fire lasers at eyes.

Speaker 2 (21:21):
Evidently for scientific reasons. It's okay. It selectively stimulated certain
retinal cells in ways that don't occur naturally, and the
unusual stimulation created a visual experience the brain had never
processed before, resulting and what people described as a highly
saturated color. Unlike anything, the color Olo cannot be seen
in the natural world. It requires specific artificial stimulation, but

(21:44):
opens intriguing questions about the limits of human vision and
how much of the visual spectrum remains undiscovered. I saw Olo.

Speaker 4 (21:51):
How'd you see it?

Speaker 2 (21:53):
Well, I saw it.

Speaker 4 (21:55):
Media see it.

Speaker 2 (21:56):
I didn't really see it, but I saw the social
media version. It looks like turquoise. Yeah, I think it's
just as basically turquoise.

Speaker 4 (22:02):
I feel like it's just a brighter version of a
color we've seen here. Here's the question, though, would you
rather go to space for ten minutes or have a
laser shot in your eye to Ceolo?

Speaker 2 (22:09):
Well, I don't want anything shot in my head. But
also don't want to go to space, so that's a
tough One's that's I'm passing on.

Speaker 1 (22:16):
That more Mario Lopez coming up.

Speaker 2 (22:19):
All that's it. Thanks so much for hanging out of
you miss anything or I just want to relive our
radio fun hit a bom rite dot com. There's more
fun tomorrow, Gia, Judaice or Juda Chay, however you say it,
we'll join us. We're gonna serve up some fresh justice
in Courtney's court, honor a good deed, and so much more.
