Barbie is available at Walmart, Amazon, and Target for under
hundred bucks. Ken goes for a seventy five at Walmart.
Idea that those medicals takes place this year on November
first and second. And I love that it's broadening out
outside of the Latin community because it really is a
It's it's so close to Halloween. People think there's some
sort of dark, macabre meaning to it, but it's about

(05:19):
celebrating loved ones that have passed.

Speaker 6 (05:21):
And was there our a Pixar movie about this.

Speaker 3 (05:23):
Totally Coco, and it won a lot of awards and

Honestly, thank you. I love getting to catch up with you.

Speaker 3 (06:06):
You know, whatever I say the title of your film
Doing It, it just makes me want to say it
In the ll cool J song you remember that song.

Speaker 2 (06:14):
Doing It, Doing It? Doing It?

Speaker 3 (06:16):
Well, Hey exactly, I love that song and looks like
I'm gonna love this movie. It looks like so much
fun I know you co wrote it. Congratulations. You're also
starring it alongside Sabriena Jones and and A Gasty are
very funny. For those not familiar, please tell me about it.

Speaker 8 (06:31):
It is about a thirty seven year old virgin who
finds herself teaching sex in so it is laugh a
lot funny, but that's a good commentary in there as well,
you know, making people think, probably some important conversations.

Speaker 6 (06:42):
See that.

Speaker 3 (06:42):
That's great storytelling right there, and and fun projects. I
love that, and I know it's a passion project because
it took about seven years.

Speaker 8 (06:50):
Seven years, Mario, My longest and most toxic relationship has
been this movie.

Speaker 2 (06:54):
App absolutely seven years ago.

Speaker 7 (06:55):
I got the first draft of the script, I fell
in love with it.

Speaker 8 (06:58):
I was like, I absolutely am obsessed with the idea
of there being a sex comedy with someone that looks
like me, Mario, because growing up I never.

Speaker 7 (07:05):
Saw myself in those movies, never really had sex said.
And I was like, this is.

Speaker 8 (07:08):
So important and I want to tell it. So yeah,
seven years and it's coming out in the world.

Speaker 2 (07:12):
That's awesome. I bet it feels amazing.

Speaker 3 (07:14):
All Right, Lily Hank tight quick break, and we're going
to come back with some more.

Speaker 1 (07:17):
More fun on the way on with Mario Lopez.

Speaker 3 (07:20):
Getting back to Lily's saying, who's on zoom Mario Lopez?
Here a new movie is doing it. And I love
that your mom was involved in the production.

Speaker 2 (07:27):
What was her role? Again?

Speaker 7 (07:28):
Exactly he is And this is not a vanity credit.
Factually shed help the cultural consultant.

Speaker 8 (07:34):
So yes, the scenes in the movie that seemed like
they take place in India, you know, a shop for India.
And she made sure that all the language was correct,
all the props were correct, and it was mirrored off
of her childhood classroom. So I want to make sure
it's true to her experience as well.

Speaker 2 (07:46):
Oh that's great, looking forward to again checking it out.

Speaker 3 (07:49):
All right, Lily, hank tight a little more music and
I'm going to come back, Lily saying, hanging out on
Zoom with us your own Mario Lopez new movie is
doing it. But I know he had another film come
out this last month, kid's comedy Bad Guys too.

Speaker 2 (08:01):
We like the first one. My kids and I have
good time.

Speaker 3 (08:05):
And you've done a few voiceover roles that you know.
It's a lot of work. I've been doing that a
little bit. It's it's a lot of people think, oh,
it's great, you could and yes, you could show up
how you like wearing whatever, but all.

Speaker 2 (08:15):
The different takes and it's it's exhaust It's a lot
of hard work, right, It's a lot of energy. It
does because.

Speaker 8 (08:21):
You're only communicating with your voice obviously, but like when
you're on camera.

Speaker 7 (08:25):
You can like do subtle things with your facial expressions
with your hand jest. Right when you're just doing voice acting,
so much energy goes into conveying every emotion that way.

Speaker 8 (08:33):
So yes, often when I step out of a sound booth,
I'm winded for the day.

Speaker 7 (08:36):
I'm exhausted.

Speaker 2 (08:38):
No, you're right, I was telling me. I was like, dang,
it takes a lot out of you. And coming up.

Speaker 3 (08:43):
You're also going to be appearing in season two of
the two Mound sitcom Shifting Gears.

Speaker 2 (08:48):
Can you tell us anything about that?

Speaker 7 (08:49):
Absolutely? I pay a fun little role.

Speaker 8 (08:51):
I play someone who with friends Kat Denning's, and we're
two mothers and we have a quick friendship that kind
of goes through some drama very quickly. And I've had
the pleasure of working with Cat before we're on Dolphins
and with the show runner Michelle Nader. So felt like
a little family reunion was such a warm, lovely set.
And I did tell a joke what the cameras weren't rolling?
And Tim Allen did laugh. So I would like to
believe that we're best friends.

Speaker 1 (09:11):
Now.

Speaker 3 (09:11):
Oh that's good because normal comics normally don't laugh. You
get a genuine laugh out of him.

Speaker 7 (09:15):
That's that's pretty big time the highlight of my day.

Speaker 3 (09:18):
I'm not a lie, I would I would imagine. So
all right, more Lily Sing coming up after a little
more music, al Maria Lopez rapping up with Lily Sing
and Lily.

Speaker 2 (09:27):
One last thing, the Toronto Tempo.

Speaker 3 (09:30):
You are now officially a co owner of a new
WNBA team. Congratulations, You're making me sound so cool and
pretty darn cool.

Speaker 2 (09:38):
I think youre pretty dark.

Speaker 5 (09:39):
I am born and raised in Toronto and a huge
basketball fan, and so yes, Toronto Temple is Canada's first
and only WNBA team, and I would have been devastated
if I wasn't involved.

Speaker 8 (09:50):
My official title is chief Hype Officer, as you can tell,
a pretty energetic person. And so when we tip off
in May of twenty twenty six, I want to be
their court side, cheering, making sure these ladies hate all
the tension that desert.

Speaker 2 (10:01):
I love it. I love it, and that's that's great.
Toronto's got a lot of a lot of talent coming
out of that town.

Speaker 3 (10:06):
Let me let me ask you a question, since you're
a native Toronto, Toronto in or Canadian, mess that up.
Who who is selling who is more embraced Justin Bieber,
Drake or the Weekend.

Speaker 2 (10:23):
They're all massive, but I was just curious who is
who is Toronto?

Speaker 1 (10:26):
Really?

Speaker 3 (10:27):
You know what I'm saying, Because they're all from Toronto, right,
They're right from Toronto.

Speaker 7 (10:30):
I feel like I'm biased, but I'm gonna die on
this whole. That's fine. I'm gonna go with Drake just because, like,
if we're talking Toronto.

Speaker 8 (10:37):
I feel you know what I mean, I feel like
he's got a lot of imagery on the sea and tower,
like he makes a lot of references to the Toronto area.

Speaker 7 (10:44):
And so I'm gonna say Drake.

Speaker 8 (10:46):
But I'm sure someone's gonna be mad about that answer somewhere,
but that's my answer, and that's the.

Speaker 2 (10:50):
Hell I'm doing on Yeah, I mean they're pretty massive.
Those are three massive stars coming out of there. Gunt
where it's at.

Speaker 7 (10:57):

It is time for Courtney's random question.

Speaker 2 (12:56):
What you got honey? All right?

Speaker 10 (12:57):
So I was reading that Prince once asked out howe
barry by having a roadie hand her a note during
a concert? She said no, is a note writing good
game or bad?

Speaker 1 (13:09):
I like that?

Speaker 2 (13:10):
Hallie said no.

Speaker 6 (13:11):
Did she write a note back? Circle?

Speaker 2 (13:14):
Yes or no? Maybe she circled right there.

Speaker 3 (13:16):
I think note writing is romantic. I'm old school, though,
so I like a good note writing now. My penmanship
hasn't improved since the second grade. But other than that,
I kind of like it. You have beautiful penmanship, Honey.
Don't you like when you get little notes?

Speaker 10 (13:32):
I don't remember the last time I went.

Speaker 2 (13:33):
Oh God, here we go, because now I just be
sending texts.

Speaker 3 (13:37):
Those cats, those are notes, Those are notes, Yes, and
it's much better penmanship.

Speaker 1 (13:42):

her country roots why I said it like that to
pop stardom.

Speaker 3 (14:10):
She had the greatest transition ever going from country to
mainstream I forgot.

Speaker 6 (14:16):
As a matter of fact, it was pretty immediate too.

Speaker 3 (14:18):
Yeah, but it made you even forget that she started
out in country. Album My album will be available to
purchase on October seventh.

Speaker 1 (14:25):
More Mario Lopez coming up.

Speaker 10 (14:28):
Hey You're out with Courtney and Mario Lopez. Another new
social media trend is sweeping TikTok and ig the jen
z stare. Oh so, if you're not familiar it is.
It's that blank, dead pan look, no emotion, no response,
kind of like what I've been giving the kids since
they were.

Speaker 6 (14:45):
Both That's my personality. I've had that for a long time.

Speaker 10 (14:48):
Yeah, you say something to them and they just stare. Rude,
by the way, even a dummer. Some gen zers are
refusing to say hello when they answer their phone, instead
say nothing, waiting for you to talk first.

Speaker 2 (15:03):
So what's happening. That's just double rude. What's the matter
with these kids? They're lazier, they're they're more they're more
rude and.

Speaker 6 (15:10):
Knock it off.

Speaker 2 (15:11):
Yeah, get it together, kids.

Speaker 10 (15:13):
How do I know if you answered the phone's silence?

Top of your comments, what'd you find honey.

Speaker 10 (15:37):
This is from at Julia DC nine and they said
you're spot on about kids watching YouTube. If mine received
a text from me, they quickly swipe up and ignore me.

Speaker 3 (15:47):
So I post a little mean that said, nobody declines
a call faster than a four year old kid watching YouTube.

Speaker 2 (15:52):
It could be four, it could be ten, it doesn't matter.

Speaker 3 (15:55):
But I've literally seen our son Santino decline call.

Speaker 2 (16:00):
Well, he's watching on your phone all the time.

Speaker 3 (16:02):
So when you're declining me all the time and I'm calling,
I know he has your phone.

Speaker 10 (16:06):
The kids and a plural, all three of them, because
you call me nine trillion times a.

Speaker 2 (16:12):
Day with really thanks.

Speaker 10 (16:13):
I was going to say, which I love, but they're
with me, you know, after I get them from school
and you annoy them so they they decline you not
I nice kids.

Speaker 10 (16:37):
So booty and butt are synonyms, call and dial are synonyms,
but a booty call and a butt dial are very
different things.

Speaker 3 (16:48):
You know what, that's probably the most poignant random thought
you've had. Mario Lopez. Here are getting close to the
end of our radio fund. Just one last thing to
get to, plus probably enough time to play a request
or two before I get out of here. So if
you got song you want to hear, hit me up

I interview experts, celebrities, thought leaders and athletes so that we can grow our mindset, build better habits and uncover a side of them we’ve never seen before. New episodes every Monday and Friday. Your support means the world to me and I don’t take it for granted — click the follow button and leave a review to help us spread the love with On Purpose. I can’t wait for you to listen to your first or 500th episode!
