Speaker 1 (00:00):
You're on with Mario Lopez.
Speaker 2 (00:03):
All right, back behind the mic and back to work,
Mario Lopez. He're fired up to get to hang with
you for the next few hours. YouTuber actress comic Lily
Sing zooming in later with a scoop on her new
movie Doing It Looks Really Funny. Didn't catch up on
the rest of the buzz from the weekend, and just
a few songs away from asking a random question.
Speaker 3 (00:19):
So turn it up. You're on with Mario Lopez. No, Mario,
Courtney Lopez. Let's put a spotlight on my wife. It
is time for Courtney's random question.
Speaker 2 (00:29):
What you got honey?
Speaker 4 (00:30):
All right? So I was reading that Prince once asked
out halle Berry by having a roadie hand her a
note during a concert. She said, no, is a note
writing good game or bad?
Speaker 2 (00:42):
I like that?
Speaker 3 (00:43):
Hallie said no.
Speaker 2 (00:44):
Did she write a note back? Circle?
Speaker 3 (00:47):
Yes or no?
Speaker 2 (00:47):
Maybe she circled right there. I think note writing is romantic.
I'm old school, though, so I like a good note writing.
Speaker 5 (00:55):
Now.
Speaker 2 (00:56):
My penmanship hasn't improved since the second grade, but other
than that, I kind of like it. You have beautiful penmanship, honey.
Don't you like when you get little notes.
Speaker 4 (01:05):
I don't remember the last time.
Speaker 2 (01:06):
I Oh God, here we go, because now I just
be sending texts those kids, right, those are notes? Those
are notes, yes, and it's much better penmanship.
Speaker 1 (01:15):
More Mario Lopez on the.
Speaker 2 (01:17):

on with Mario dot com slash teachers. Hey, you're out
with Courtney and Mario Lopez. Another new social media trend
is sweeping, TikTok and ig the jen z stare, So
if you're not familiar it is. It's that blank, dead
(01:57):
pan look, no emotion, no response, kind of like what
I've been giving the kids since they were born.
Speaker 2 (02:01):
That's my personality. I've had that for a long time.
Speaker 4 (02:04):
Yeah, you say something to them and they just stare rude.
By the way, even a dummer. Some gen zers are
refusing to say hello when they answer their phone. Instead
they say nothing, waiting for you to talk first.
Speaker 2 (02:18):
So what's happening. That's just double rude. What's the matter
with these kids? They're lazier, they're they're more they're more
rude and knock it off. Yeah, get it together, kids.
Speaker 4 (02:29):
How do I know if you answered the phone right,
it's silence right?
Speaker 3 (02:32):
All right, let's get back to news.
Speaker 2 (02:34):
Yo O Mariol Courtney Lopez and we hit a milestone
over at Costa Lopez. I'm sort of embarrassed to reveal
this and I haven't completely succumbed to it, but we
started using subtitles on our TV shows, not foreign shows,
American shows, just because I don't know if it's harder
to hear and they're mumblers and it made it's just
(02:57):
making life easier. We started watching the show. Shout out
to my guy, Peter Burg is awesome. One of my
favorite shows I've seen in years, called American Promeval. You
guys have to get on that. It's on my list.
Speaker 4 (03:06):
It's really good.
Speaker 3 (03:08):
It is awesome.
Speaker 2 (03:10):
Anyway, there's much of mumblers on it.
Speaker 4 (03:12):
So West Mumblers accents.
Speaker 2 (03:14):
Yeah, there is some accents. But at first I'm like,
should we do it? And then we did it and
it has been a little bit more enjoyable and we're
about five six episodes in.
Speaker 4 (03:21):
Here's the thing, though, if I can, you know, in
the future, ask if we can do subtitles but have
an option to put without direction, like I don't need
to hear wind chimes, Like I just need to hear
what the leaders.
Speaker 2 (03:36):
Want to hear the dialogue. You want to read the dialogue.
Speaker 4 (03:38):
Yeah, Like I don't need to hear all that, because
I understand some people need to hear that you can't hear.
Speaker 6 (03:43):
My grandparents were completely deaf, so captions were the way
that they understood what we need.
Speaker 2 (03:48):
Like horse is making noise. I don't know what that
sounds like, but sure, yeah.
Speaker 4 (03:51):
But to have an option to not have to do everything.
Speaker 2 (03:54):
Yeah, but I think subtitles it hasn't been a bad deal.
Speaker 6 (03:57):
You know what I've I've been using subtitles some, but
you know it's because the sound mixing, it seems like,
is off. So like the music will be super loud,
so you lower the volume, but then the dialogue is
really quiet, right, so then it's like I don't want
to keep changing it, so I'll just read the.
Speaker 2 (04:12):
Right And then sometimes you need them too if you're watching.
It doesn't even have to be really that foreign. It
could be British shows and their accents are so thick
speaking English, but it's like, what are they saying? Poor
Mario Lopez keeping the music and fun coming your way.

Speaker 4 (04:55):
This is from at Julia DC nine and they said
you're spot on about kids watching you too tube. If
mine received a text from me, they quickly swipe up
and ignore.
Speaker 3 (05:04):
Me, so I post a little mean that said.
Speaker 2 (05:06):
Nobody declines a call faster than a four year old
kid watching YouTube. It could be four, it could be ten,
it doesn't matter. But I've literally seen our son Santino
decline calls while he's watching on your phone all the time.
So when you're declining me all the time and I'm calling,
I know he has your phone.
Speaker 4 (05:24):
The kids and a plural, all three of them, because
you call me nine trillion times a.
Speaker 3 (05:29):
Day, which really thanks.
Speaker 4 (05:31):
I was going to say, which I love, But they're
with me, you know, after I get them from school,
and you annoy them so they they decline you not.
Speaker 3 (05:42):
I nice kids.
Speaker 7 (05:43):
Get us up on Twitter and on with Mario and
hang on more Mario Lopez on the way, but I'm more.

Speaker 3 (06:18):
Oh with Mario.
Speaker 2 (06:18):
Courtney Lopez saw this and I thought it was really interesting.
If you wake up at three am randomly, apparently you're normal.
According to new medical research, one third of us apparently
wake up around three am about three.
Speaker 3 (06:30):
Times a week.
Speaker 2 (06:31):
Psychology Today says that's a common occurrence and it's age related.
As we get older, our natural sleep cycle transitions around
three am, which is when we switch between deep sleep
and light sleep. You know, I can't make it through
the night without having to use the Russian release one time.
Speaker 4 (06:49):
I have to.
Speaker 3 (06:49):
I don't want to. I never want to look at
the clock.
Speaker 4 (06:51):
We don't look at the crowdn't I do?
Speaker 3 (06:53):
I don't because I start doing.
Speaker 2 (06:54):
Math in my head and how many hours you up there?
It messes me up and messes me up because sometimes
I feel like if it's if I'm only like an
hour away, which is still a pretty good amount of time,
I'll do a countdown in my head. It'll mess with me.
But I bet you it might be closer to around
three am.
Speaker 4 (07:08):
You know what this I can attest to because for
some reason, I am like a two fourteen am person.
I constantly wake up around the same time, So I
don't know if that has anything to do with this.
Speaker 2 (07:21):
Or wild I don't know. Mario, Courtney Lopez, more music
coming your way, But I wanted to squeeze in this thing.
Speaker 3 (07:28):
I saw the New York Post.
Speaker 2 (07:29):
So celebrities, as you know, have a tendency to give
their kids names that are sometimes well, unusual or unexpected.
But out of all of them, can you guess which
is the most hated by expectant parents in North? North
is a good guest considering how much odd controversy Kanye.
Speaker 3 (07:48):
Is there a Chicago kid too?
Speaker 4 (07:50):
Yeah, but I just don't like North. It's not the
name North specifically, it's the Northwest. Yes, yeah, No, there's
a really strange he's a and he has a really
strange Their kids.
Speaker 3 (08:04):
Is well, Chris Brown's daughter is Royalty.
Speaker 1 (08:06):
No.
Speaker 4 (08:06):
No, this is really really strange, and I can't think
of it right now.
Speaker 2 (08:10):
I know another kid, not a celebrity name your majesty, really,
your majesty, your majesty. There's so many, I mean, well,
the answer Apple the name Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin
named their daughter baby named consultant Colleen. Slagan came to
this conclusion after sending expecting parents a questionnaire asking their
naming likes and dislikes. The most common example they gave is,
(08:33):
we don't like names like Apple. Okay, maybe it's got
a little something to do with Gwyneth Paltrow in the
way they feel about her too.
Speaker 3 (08:39):
It could be.
Speaker 6 (08:40):
But also I think Apple is probably the most known
one because it was so bizarre, right, because Gwyneth starts
all those weird things like the conscious uncoupling, right, So
I think maybe she's the most known. So that's why
she's referenced the most, right If you're.
Speaker 2 (08:57):
Wondering by the way, Slagan charges three out her for
a forty five minutes zoom. What meeting to help parents
find the perfect name for their bundle of the joy?
That is such a waste of trying too hard?
Speaker 4 (09:08):
Are you kidding?
Speaker 2 (09:09):
Basically good for Slagan though, on nice Hustle.
Speaker 1 (09:12):
More Mario Lopez on.
Speaker 2 (09:13):
The way You're on Mario Courtney Lopez, more music coming
your way right now. After Kordo tries to make us
laugh with a fresh mom joke. All right, let's hear
it what you got. Let's see the time right, all right,
all right?
Speaker 4 (09:23):
Do you know why koi fish always travel in packs
of four? Why if attacked, koy A, B and C
will scatter, leaving behind the decoy.
Speaker 2 (09:40):
The silence, the silence. No, you know, I like the commitment.
I like the commitment. But again it's one of those
you just got to see it. You gave it too much.
Speaker 4 (09:47):
Fair, Okay, So if attacked, coy A, B and C
will scatter, leaving behind the decoy.
Speaker 2 (09:52):
Less is more. Sometimes nobody's let.
Speaker 3 (09:54):
The words do the work.
Speaker 2 (09:56):
Well, we already knew the punch, we knew.
Speaker 3 (09:57):
The pleasure decoy. That's good, you mix it up.
Speaker 5 (10:00):
I like it.
Speaker 3 (10:14):
A'm Mario Lopez. Few songs.
Speaker 2 (10:16):
I'm gonna fire up zoom so we can chat with
YouTube or comment. Actress Lily sing new movie is called
Doing It, which has been years in the making. It
looks very funny, So I ain't tight. Lily Singing joins
us next, So Bro Mario Lopez joining me right now
on zoom. From the new film Doing It. Actress Lily's sing,
how are you, Lily?
Speaker 5 (10:33):
I'm always great when I'm talking to you. You are
the joy of my life.
Speaker 3 (10:37):
Honestly, thank you. I love getting to catch up with you.
Speaker 2 (10:40):
You know, whatever I say the title of your film,
Doing It, it just makes me want to say it.
In the Hello cool J song, you remember that song.
Speaker 3 (10:48):
Doing It, Doing It, Doing It?
Speaker 2 (10:50):
Well, Hey, exactly, I love that song and looks like
I'm gonna love this movie.
Speaker 3 (10:54):
It looks like so much fun. I know you co
wrote it. Congratulations.
Speaker 2 (10:57):
You're also a star in it, alongside Sabriena Jones and
a gast I are very funny. For those not familiar,
please tell me about it.
Speaker 5 (11:05):
It is about a thirty seven year old virgin who
finds herself teaching sex. Said so, it is laugh a
lot funny, but it's got some good commentary in there
as well, you know, making people think, probably some important conversations.
Speaker 2 (11:15):
See. That's great storytelling right there. And fun projects. I
love that, And I know it's a passion project because
it took about seven years.
Speaker 5 (11:24):
Seven years, Mario, My longest and most toxic relationship has
been this movie. At absolutely seven years ago, I got
the first draft of the script, I fell in love
with it. I was like, I absolutely am obsessed with
the idea of there being a sex comedy with someone
that looks like me, Mario, because growing up I never
saw myself in those movies, never really had sex said,
and I was like, this is so important and I
want to tell it. So, yeah, seven years and it's
(11:45):
coming out in the world.
Speaker 2 (11:46):
That's awesome.
Speaker 3 (11:47):
I bet it feels amazing. All right, Lily, hang tight,
quick break, and.
Speaker 2 (11:49):
We're going to come back with some more.
Speaker 1 (11:51):
More fun on the way on with Mario Lopez.
Speaker 2 (11:54):
Getting back to Lily's saying, who's on zoom? Mario Lopez?
Your a new movie is doing it and I love
that your mom was involved in the production.
Speaker 3 (12:01):
What was her role again?
Speaker 2 (12:02):
Exactly he is, and this is not a vanity credit.
Speaker 5 (12:04):
Factually, she help the cultural consultant. So yes, the scenes
in the movie that seem like they take place in India,
you know, a shop for India, and she made sure
that all the language was correct, all the props were correct,
and it was mirrored off of her childhood classroom. So
I want to make sure it's true to her experience
as well.
Speaker 3 (12:20):
Oh that's great, looking forward to again checking it out.
Speaker 2 (12:22):
All right, Lily, hank tight, a little more music and
I'm going to come back, Lily saying hanging out on
Zoom with us your own Mario Lopez new movie is
doing it. But I know he had another film, the
kids comedy Bad Guys too. We liked the first one,
My kids and I good Time. And you've done a
few voiceover roles that, you know. It's a lot of work.
I've been doing that a little bit. It's it's a
(12:43):
lot of people think, oh, it's great you could and yes,
you could show up how you like wearing whatever, but
all the different takes Cinda, It's it's exhaust It's a
lot of hard work, right. It takes a lot of energy.
It does because.
Speaker 5 (12:54):
You're only communicating with your voice obviously, but like when
you're on camera you can like do subtle things with
your face, expressions with your hand jes right, when you're
just doing voice acting, so much energy goes into conveying
every emotion that way. So yes, often when I step
out of a sound booth, I'm winded for the day.
I'm exhausted.
Speaker 3 (13:11):
No, you're right, I was was telling me.
Speaker 2 (13:13):
I was like, dang, I did.
Speaker 3 (13:14):
It takes a lot at you and coming up.
Speaker 2 (13:16):
You're also going to be appearing in season two of
the tim Allan sitcom Shifting Gears. Can you tell us
anything about that? Absolutely? I pay a fun little role.
Speaker 5 (13:24):
I play someone who with friends Kat Denning's, and we're
two mothers and we have a quick friendship that kind
of goes through some drama very quickly. And I've had
the pleasure of working with Kat before on Dolphase and
with the show runner Michelle Nader. So felt like a
little family reunion was such a warm, lovely set. And
I did tell a joke when the cameras weren't rolling,
and Tim Allen did laugh. So I would like to
believe that we're best friends.
Speaker 1 (13:44):
Now.
Speaker 2 (13:44):
Oh that's good, because normal comics normally don't laugh.
Speaker 3 (13:47):
You get a genuine laugh out of him.
Speaker 2 (13:49):
That's that's pretty big time the highlight of my day.
I'm not gonna lie, I would I would imagine, So,
all right, more Lily sing coming up after a little
more news. Oh Maria Lopez rapping up with Lily Saying
and Lily one last thing, the Toronto Tempo. You are
now officially a co owner of a new w NBA team. Congratulations.
You're making me sound so cool, and I think pretty
(14:10):
darn cool. I think you're pretty dark.
Speaker 5 (14:12):
I am born and raised in Toronto and a huge
basketball fan, and so yes, Toronto Temple is Canada's first
and only WNBA team, and I would have been devastated
if I wasn't involved. My official title is chief Hype Officer.
As a cantall a pretty energetic person, and so when
we tip off in May of twenty twenty six, I
want to be their court side, cheering, making sure these
ladies hate all the attention they deserve.
Speaker 3 (14:33):
I love it. I love it, and that's it, and
that's great.
Speaker 2 (14:35):
Toronto has got a lot of a lot of talent
coming out of that town. Let me let me ask
you a question, since you're a native Toronto, Toronto in
or Canadian mess that upho, who is selling? Who is
more embraced Justin Bieber, Drake or the Weekend?
Speaker 3 (14:55):
They're all massive, But I was just.
Speaker 2 (14:57):
Curious, who is who is Toronto?
Speaker 1 (14:59):
Really?
Speaker 2 (14:59):
You know what I'm s Because they're all from Toronto, right,
They're roight from Toronto.
Speaker 5 (15:03):
I feel like I'm biased, but I'm gonna die on this.
Speaker 2 (15:06):
While that's fine.
Speaker 5 (15:06):
I'm gonna go with Drake just because, like, if we're talking.
Speaker 2 (15:08):
Toronto, I feel you know what I mean?
Speaker 5 (15:11):
I feel like he's got a lot of imagery on
the sea and tower like, he makes a lot of
references to the Toronto area.
Speaker 3 (15:16):
And so I'm gonna say Drake.
Speaker 5 (15:19):
But I'm sure someone's gonna be mad about that answer somewhere,
But that's my answer, and that's the hell I'm doing on.
Speaker 2 (15:23):
Yeah, I mean, they're pretty massive. Those are three massive
stars coming out of there.
Speaker 3 (15:27):
Gues Toronto, where it's at.
Speaker 2 (15:30):
We got a lot of the things going on over there.
Speaker 3 (15:32):
I guess.
Speaker 2 (15:32):
So congratulations on everything, Lily and everyone. Please be sure
to catch Ellie's new film Doing It, Doing It, Doing It.

I got a list here of the ten best food
cities in America, according to US News. I've et pretty
much everywhere here. Let's see if we agree.
Speaker 3 (16:59):
Who do we got?
Speaker 4 (16:59):
Honey, Number ten Austin.
Speaker 2 (17:02):
Austin's a good food town Texas in general, but Austin
is a little more riche than the other town's.
Speaker 4 (17:07):
Number nine, Portland, Maine.
Speaker 2 (17:09):
Well, if you're gonna go with lobster which is incredible,
and a lot of the seafoods and crab which I love.
Speaker 1 (17:16):
Yes.
Speaker 4 (17:17):
Number eight is a Houston h town.
Speaker 2 (17:21):
Great steakhouses, they know they're cows over there. Great steakhouses.
Speaker 4 (17:25):
Number seven Las Vegas.
Speaker 2 (17:27):
Absolutely, it's sort of the best of everywhere the world.
Actually in Vegas. It's hard to argue with that. I'm
surprised that's actually not number one.
Speaker 4 (17:35):
Number six Philadelphia.
Speaker 2 (17:37):
Yeah, Philly is a major town. They have I'm sure
some solid restaurants. They're more known for those cheese steaks,
which are amazing.
Speaker 4 (17:46):
Number five San Francisco.
Speaker 2 (17:48):
San Francisco has I believe, more culinary schools than anywhere else,
so that makes a lot of sense to It's a
coastal town, which is great.
Speaker 4 (17:55):
Number four La what's up A one eight.
Speaker 10 (18:00):
Three, two three, three, one oh three, one o, two
and three goes on and other Yes, La Schmorgas board
of different ethnicities and it's just a big town, so
you're gonna get a a lot of good food.
Speaker 4 (18:14):
Number three is Chicago.
Speaker 2 (18:16):
Chicago does have a lot of food, a lot more condensed.
It's not to spread out. Great steakhouses, and I believe
one of the most expensive restaurants in the world in
Chicago two with like twenty courses and stuff. I hate there.
Speaker 3 (18:29):
Once it was it was like a marathon.
Speaker 4 (18:32):
Number two NYC.
Speaker 2 (18:35):
New York City really does have great food, even if
you go to like a deli just down the street
or the little hole wall places. For some reason, just
everything is good there.
Speaker 4 (18:46):
Yeah. And Number one, drum roll please, oh New Orleans.
Speaker 3 (18:53):
I have no problem with this, you know.
Speaker 2 (18:54):
I say New Orleans is the number one city in
the South, especially for food, because you can't replicate food
anywhere else. They're rue and jumbalaya and gumbo and all
that is so tasty and everything's really fresh there. So
I'm not mad at that pick at all.
Speaker 7 (19:11):
Tell Mario, what do you think? Pet on with Mario
more Mario Lopez on the.
Speaker 3 (19:15):
Way Music rolls on or Cordy Lopez.
Speaker 2 (19:18):
You're quickly squeezing in a random question which you got, Honey.
Speaker 4 (19:21):
Would you rather be granted one wish now or three
wishes in ten years?
Speaker 2 (19:27):
That is a fascinating question, really good. I'm going one
wish now. Really, I'm always burd in hand. You never
know what the future.
Speaker 4 (19:36):
May hold, that's true.
Speaker 2 (19:38):
And who knows if even God forbid not to be
a bummer going to be around in ten years.
Speaker 4 (19:43):
Because I would say three wishes in ten years, because
there's really nothing I would change. I mean, obviously I
want to see people that are no longer here and
that kind of stuff, but I don't know. I would
