Speaker 1 (00:00):
Real On with Mario little Bit, Alma Courtney Lopez, Raser
Nichols are also in here. The Oscars, the Academy Awards
are going down, of course, this Sunday at the Dolbe
Theater right here in Hollywood. And we always make some
predictions ahead of the show and some key categories, and
we're going to continue that. Now, what are we gonna
start off with? Well, today we're gonna do performance by

(00:21):
an actor in our leading role. Okay, that's a tough category.
Antonio Bandaris and Painting Glory, Leonardo DiCaprio, Once upon a
Time in Hollywood, Adam Driver, Marriage Story, Joaquin Phoenix and
Joker and Jonathan Price in the Two Popes. Again, that
is a tough category. The only performance haven't seen as
Antonio Bandaris is by hear he's excellent in this. Joaquin

(00:41):
Phoenix seems to have the most momentum based on the
previous Awards shows, And yes, he was obviously really really
good in that. But Adam Driver was so good, Yes
he was in Marriage Story, um Man, he was so
good that I don't know if you were supposed to
sympathize with his character, but I ended up sympathizing with
this character because it was so good and convincing. Well,

(01:03):
marriage story is the only movie I saw out of
that with Shocker and guess what you guys, I stayed
away really thank you. And it is because their performances
were so compelling and and just the storyline of the
divorce and everything. It's just something you never want to

(01:23):
go through. I say, Adam Driver, congratulations, you're winning. You
have a short take right now at on with Mario
on Twitter. More Mario fun coming up from the Geico studios.
Whether you rental or own, Geico makes it easy to
bundle home and auto insurance. Having a home is hard work,
so get a quote at geico dot com. Easy Al Mario,
Courtney Lopez. We started making oscar predictions yesterday. We're going

(01:46):
to do another category right now. What you got Frasier
actor in a supporting role? Who Okay? Tom Hanks in
a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, Anthony Hoppin, Sorry, Sir,
Anthony Hopkins, The Two Popes, al Pacino, the Irishman, Joe Pesci,
The Irishman, and Brad Pitt Once upon a Time in Hollywood.
Now Brad Pitt has had the most. Well men, I'm
going into this Awards season and I feel like he's

(02:09):
had the best campaign, sort of non campaign with his speeches.
He's been pretty funny and showing personality, you know, um
sort of come back for him with all the drama
right with Angelina and everything, so it appears that it's
his to lose. However, I really thought Pacino and Peschi's
performances in The Irishman were top notch. And Anthony Hopkins,

(02:31):
Sir Anthony Hopkins, excuse me, was was fantastic in the
two popes. I only didn't see Tom Hanks and Mr Rogers. Well,
I have not seen any of these. I did see
the documentary um from Mr Rogers, and he's from my hometown,
so you're based. So I'm biased, and I say it's
a beautiful day in the neighborhood for Tom Hanks to

(02:53):
win an Oscar. So congratulations, Tom Hanks, you are the winner.
Who do you think it's right? Mario or coording Way
in now on Twitter at on with Mario and hang
on more. Shenanigan's coming up from the Geico Studios. Whether
you rent or own, Geico makes it easy to bundle
home and auto insurance. Having a home is hard work,
so get a quote at geico dot com. Easy, Amar

(03:15):
Courtney Lopez, Hope your Thursday is going well making Oscar
predictions ahead of the awards this weekend, So frasier. What
category are we doing right now? Original screenplay Okay knives Out,
Marriage Story nineteen seventeen, Once upon a Time in Hollywood
or Parasite. Listen all those films I have no scene
and and uh, pretty original and very very very well rolled.

(03:39):
The original No, no, very no, because sometimes you'll see
the premise that you've seen that movie before, kind of thing.
I really am high on Parasite. I know it's a
foreign film and it should win that clearly, but not
since Life is Beautiful. Remember that film Life is Beautiful.
He's the Italians, and that it was a Roberto Bonini.

(03:59):
It was great that film was the last film to
win Best Foreign Film and also Best Picture. I think
Parasite has a good chance to do that this year. Um,
and it was in a big reason is because it
was very original. So I'm leaning towards Parris Site. I
don't even know why you guys ask me anymore, because
you know, I don't ever see anything but I did
see Marriage Story, which I said before, so I loved

(04:22):
it and I didn't fall asleep, which right, there's an award. Um,
so I'm gonna go with Marriage Story. Who do you
think it's right? Mario recording way in now on Twitter
at On with Mario and hang on more. Shenanigan's coming
up from the Geico studios. Whether you rent or own,
Geico makes it easy to bundle home and auto insurance.

(04:42):
Having a home is hard work, so get a quote
at geico dot com. Easy, Marow Courtney Lopez. Time now
for your mare. I'm using minute all about the Oscar
nominees for Best Original Song Oscars of course, going down
this Sunday. Honey, what do we got? I can't let
you throw yourself away? Toy Story four Blue, that was

(05:07):
a sweet little song. I remember watching the movie thinking
that that's a good little song with a great message. Okay,
what else, I'm gonna love me again Rocketman. Now that's
a new song that Elton John did with Taron Edgerton
from the movie, so obviously that has a lot of
gravitas to it there. Okay, what else I'm standing with you?

(05:29):
From Breakthrough? I'm standing that song happens to be written
by Diane Warren, who has been nominated something like eighteen times,
but it's never one. She's like the Susan Lucci of
the Oscars and um Chrissy Mets from This is Us

(05:53):
sings it and that's like a faith based film that
it's a pretty song. That's a really good movie. By
the way, Yeah, I watched it on a plane. It
was really good. I heard that my next trip. I'm
working from me. I told you six months ago, No
black Blanket told me too. With a matter of fact,
he washed on the play said that's really good. Who
else we got? This? One of your favorites. I hear
you in the shower singing this no joke into the air,

(06:16):
into the Unknown? What do you sing that when you
walk into the same sideways that's Frozen too. I hear
him saying that, and stand up from Harriet Well the
clouds rolled back in the field night. That's where the

(06:37):
stand up take my pain tough category, I'm gonna have
to go with I'm standing with you the song from
the film Breakthrough. I'm going to do Into the Unknown
from Frozen? Who do you think is right? Mario Recording
laying now on Twitter at On with Mario and hang
on more. She and Anigan's coming up from the Guico studios.

(06:59):
Whether you've into our own. Geico makes it easy to
bundle home and auto insurance. Having a home is hard work,
so get a quote at Geico dot com easy. Getting
closer and closer to the OSCARS Awards, of course, going
down this Sunday, Mario Courtney Lopez. Here, We've got one
last prediction. What do we got? Frasier Best Motion Picture,
Very Tough Cat otherwise known as Best Picture. Okay, Ford

(07:23):
versus Ferrari, The Irishman, Jojo Rabbit Joker, Little Women, Marriage
Story nineteen seventeen, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, and Parasite. Okay,
I've been pretty consistent in saying that I think Parasite
is the most original film, and um maybe because I
was so caught by surprise that I liked it, I'm

(07:44):
sort of rooting for it. But I think two other
films really deserve the not here. Either The Irishman, which
I thought was on a grand skill, just an epic
film and beautiful storytelling, or Nineteen seventeen, which is the
kind of film that should be rewarded for its grand
scope of film. Well, based on my knowledge of not

(08:05):
seeing any movie. But in marriage story, I'm going to
branch out and take a guess because when you listed
the films, nine might as well nominate every film. UM
seventeen said something to me. I don't know why, but
it did. It's kind of like when you're deciding on

(08:26):
what slot machine, there's one that speaks to you and
that's the one you sit down at. That's how I pick.
