Mario, longtime no see I know.

It's so nice to see you can education shows. New
show Balard just premiered on Prime Video it's a spinoff
of your previous project, wash Legacy, Right.
Speaker 6 (03:09):
Well, I was on the finale episode of that.
Speaker 7 (03:12):
They introduced my character in that show, and then and
then we went on to uh, you know obviously air
the new show.
Speaker 3 (03:18):
Well that worked out. What were your initial thoughts on
doing this one.
Speaker 6 (03:22):
I mean, I honestly, I wasn't looking for a new show.
Speaker 8 (03:25):
I you know, I know what that entails, you know,
I know I know the work, the workload that that
that that takes, and so I was a little wary
of actually starting in a show again because I've done
it and it's it's it's.
Speaker 6 (03:37):
A it's a tough job. So uh, I just thought, God,
I have to really really like.
Speaker 7 (03:41):
This script to to want to participate again.
Speaker 6 (03:45):
In this way.
Speaker 7 (03:45):
And I was on a flight to New Zealand and
they gave me like six or seven scripts to read,
and by the end of that flight.
Speaker 6 (03:52):
I was like, I like her, I like this character.
I can do something with this. I can add value here.

Mario Lopez Eric catched up with actress Maggie Q from
the new Prime video show Ballard and the show has
great reviews already. And your character is part of the
cold case division of the LAPD, and old cases are
notoriously hard to solve.
Speaker 3 (04:18):
What did would you learn about them doing the show?
Speaker 6 (04:21):
Oh, my gosh, so much. You have no idea, it's crazy.
Speaker 7 (04:24):
Well, first of all, I spent some time at the
Homicide Library here in LA on the West Side, and
it's really just this. I mean, it's this massive room
of just boxes, like rows and rows of boxes of
unsolved cases and I think there's about ten thousand of
them there. And so there's a few people that work there.
There's obviously LAPD, there's reserve officers, there's some volunteers.
Speaker 6 (04:46):
The FBI work there.
Speaker 7 (04:48):
So I was able to just meet this whole motley
crew of people that come together in this unit. And
it's actually hugely important because they've solved recent crimes with
DNA from cold cases. So some of these people get
away with things for years, and then when you do
solve a cold case, you're able to track it to
somebody who's actually still out there. And they have done that,
and so we kind of based some of the stuff
(05:10):
we did on the show on cases like that.
Speaker 2 (05:12):
Yeah, it's a whole new world now with it totally
is already get away with anything these days.
Speaker 6 (05:16):
It's rare, so I know people just don't do it,
that's true.
Speaker 3 (05:21):

your board, and like that's it.

So it was so difficult. I mean, I don't know
how people surf when they're that cold. Where did you
surf out here by the way Malibu?
Speaker 8 (06:07):
Yeah?

No, in Malibu. I mean sometimes it depends on the
break too.
Speaker 2 (06:10):
You have some nice, uh smooth role breaks, but also
the current's kind of strong.
Speaker 3 (06:15):
Yes, And you're right, it's cold.
Speaker 7 (06:18):
And freezing and your extremities, right, You're in a wetsuit, right,
so like the core of your body is like sort
of temperture regulated, but then your hands and your feet
and your head, I mean you you're freezing.
Speaker 6 (06:27):
I just couldn't believe it. And I was out there
for hours and I was like, I would never do
this for funsies.
Speaker 2 (06:35):
You're all Maria Lopez catching up with actress Maggie Q
news show is Ballard. But you also have a health
and wellness company called Activated You.
Speaker 3 (06:43):
That's right, tell me about that.
Speaker 7 (06:46):
You know. I have always took great pleasure in helping
people with their health. I mean for me, it was
like it was something that I do and I was
on this journey of trying to get myself to a
certain place, and when I did, I just felt like
it was just the natural feeling for me was I
want to help other people feel the same way.
Speaker 6 (07:05):
And it was very simple.
Speaker 7 (07:06):
It started with a very simple concept like that, and
I had an idea about the company I searched for investors.
Speaker 6 (07:11):
I pitched people.
Speaker 7 (07:14):
It's not like one of those companies where you know,
it's a celebrity who a brand already exists, which is fine,
and then you come on to be a spokesperson.
Speaker 6 (07:21):
I really founded this company.
Speaker 7 (07:23):
This was something that was founded on my vision and
something that I wanted to.
Speaker 6 (07:27):
Do because I love helping people.
Speaker 7 (07:28):
But also I also wanted just something that was outside
of entertainment, to be honest, something that fulfilled me differently,
which business does. And then it also created a sort
of safety net for me as well, you know, because
Hollywood's Hollywood, right, and you know you can't.
Speaker 6 (07:44):
You can't really depend on it for the rest of
your career, right. You have to expect that it's going
to go away at some point.
Speaker 7 (07:50):
And so in doing that, I wanted to just be
smart and take care of myself and also indulge in
something else that I.

Really love that's helpful, but also, you know, like I said,
creates the same ifty net for me.

of coconut water, and these VIDs have generated millions of
views on TikTok. Actually sounds pretty good. Basically, it's made
by whisking equal parts sugar, granulated instant coffee and ice

Coconut water has electrolights to help you rehydrate faster. It's
