Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is on with Mario Lopez.
Speaker 2 (00:03):
Here we go, Mario Lopez here back by on the
mic after a great weekend, looking forward to tomorrow's big iHeartRadio
Music Festival announcement tomorrow morning. But today I want to
tell you about a new doc that I just watched.
Plus the Real Housewife who says she's the only one
not on ozepic in your comments too, So let's turn
the music off. You're on, Mario Lopez on Mario Courtney Lopez.
(00:25):
Let's put on our thinking caps. It's time for Courtney's
random question.
Speaker 3 (00:29):
What you got name?
Speaker 2 (00:29):
You've been kidnapped? Oh no, but one hour later, your
kidnapper returns you.
Speaker 3 (00:35):
I know they would do this for Santino.
Speaker 2 (00:37):
Because you won't stop talking about what funny that you
mentioned Santino, Because I was about to say your kids.
Speaker 3 (00:45):
Nobody likes to hear about your kids.
Speaker 2 (00:48):
Unless they're family, and I'm talking immediate family like nan On, Tata,
Grandpa and grandma. That's it. Just like no one wants
to hear about your dreams.
Speaker 3 (00:59):
No, no one.
Speaker 1 (01:00):
Everyone.
Speaker 2 (01:00):
Oh, I had a dream last night, unless that dream
involves me, I don't want to hear it. Seriously, think
about it. Whenever time I tell you to tell your dream,
unless they say I had a dream about you.
Speaker 4 (01:08):
There's nothing worse than someone forcing the story of their
dream on you. You thinking that you're somehow going to
be involved, and then it ends and you're never gonna
real Why are you telling me?
Speaker 2 (01:16):
A big waste of time, big waste of time. I
don't think I've ever told some of my dream unless
they were in it. That's just a little heads up
in words of wisdom out there, do not share your
dreams with someone unless they're in it. Then they'll find
it fascinating. Other than that, you're wasting people's time.
Speaker 1 (01:32):
More fun. On the way on with Mario Lopez.
Speaker 4 (01:36):
Y'all, Mario Lopez. Let's take a look at what's on
TV today. History has Holy Marvels with Dennis Quaid. These
stories about the world's most sacred and holy relics.
Speaker 2 (01:45):
Ooh, I like that kind of storytelling. Dennis Quit's an
interesting choice as host.
Speaker 4 (01:50):
Yes, Disney Plus has World Eats Bread, a doc about
bread's role in different cultures and its origins.
Speaker 2 (01:57):
I love that kind of stuff. Actually, and when you
get real bread, unfortunately not like we have here in America.
It's actually not fattening and you will not gain weight.
Ours is so processed in what happened, But around the
world you get some of that really healthy type bread.
It tastes delicious and you're not going to get fat.
Speaker 4 (02:18):
Lofade keeps the doctor away. Fox Premiere is the One
Percent Club Quick Show where contestants have to answer questions
that only one percent of the country knows.
Speaker 2 (02:26):
So ninety nine percent of the country can't play, but
you can watch. Yeah, right, Aw, Mario Lopez, you're fired
up for this. HBO is renewed Hacks for season four.
Congrats to them. Season three just wrapped up with its
biggest ratings yet. Ah you may have seen yours truly
an episode four by the way, really nice team they've
(02:46):
got over there, So happy for those guys. All right,
let's get back to music. You are Mario Lopez and
Melissa Gorga shading all the Real Housewives.
Speaker 1 (02:55):
On with Mario Lopez Hollywood bus. So.
Speaker 2 (02:58):
Melissa Gorga from the New Jersey cast was recently on
Sherry and she revealed that she is the only member
of the cast who is not using ozembic. She says
she just works out really, really hard to stay in
shape at forty five, Melissa says she's actually happy that
her co stars are feeling good and looking good, but
she's thrown shade. Nonetheless, Listen, you do what you have
(03:22):
to do to make yourself feel better and to get
yourself healthy. That's what I say. Ironically, a lot of
her cast members were firing back up, Melissa saying, well,
she's the only one that goes next level with the
plastic surgery. Oh so typical cat fights with the housewives.
Speaker 1 (03:40):
More Mario Lopez coming up.
Speaker 2 (03:43):
Mario Lopez, aarin, we're learning more about the cast of
Knives Out three. Jeremy Renner has signed on. It's gonna
be his first film since his snowplow accident last year.
Me Lakunis, Carrie Washington, and Glenn Close.
Speaker 3 (03:55):
I've also joined the film. Look of that. All right,
let's get back to the music.
Speaker 2 (04:00):
Lopez, you're in the big congrats and Mandy Moore, she's
pregnant with her third child.
Speaker 3 (04:04):
She already knows that it's going to be a baby girl.
Speaker 2 (04:07):
Big brothers Gus is three and Ozzie is one, so
she'll have her own big three now, just like Rebecca
Pearson from this is a good for her. Congrats Jel
Maria Lopez. Let's get to your comments. What is good
in our mentions today?
Speaker 4 (04:21):
This is from at George Cassius four. Dang Mario playing
it cold with a total slam out of nowhere? Did
Chris Martin steal your girl back in the day?
Speaker 2 (04:30):
Oh my gosh. George Cassias four is probably referring to
a funny meme that I posted where this lady's giving
birth to a baby and the baby immediately crawls to
turn off Coldplay playing in the background. I just thought
it was funny, and Chris Martin's.
Speaker 3 (04:44):
Actually always been very nice to me on the show.
Speaker 2 (04:46):
Super nice guy, super nice when I see him in person,
so I've got nothing but respect for him. It was
just a funny meme. It was not meant to be
taken serious. That's what memes are. Just funny, not to serious.
Speaker 1 (04:58):
Get us up on Twitter, On with Mario and hang
on more Marial Lopez on the.
Speaker 2 (05:03):
Way, Yo, Mario Lopez got some birthdays to celebrate. I'm
gonna try to guess the ages.
Speaker 3 (05:07):
What do we got?
Speaker 4 (05:08):
Louis Partridge? You know Holmes, Olivia Rodrigo's boyfriend. Uh that
last one is probably the best clue.
Speaker 2 (05:15):
Yes, I'm gonna say he is twenty two, twenty okay,
Rafael Nadal twenty two Grand Slam tennis titles. Yes, Roger
Federer's nemesis. Ooh, I'm gonna say he's thirty six.
Speaker 4 (05:29):
Thirty seven.
Speaker 2 (05:30):
Wow, okay, so close.
Speaker 4 (05:31):
And Anderson Cooper from seeing in the mole. It's hard
to tell with him because he's been white, like his
hair has been white with skin too. Is just he's
just sort of transc translucent his whole life, so you
can't judge that.
Speaker 2 (05:45):
So he could be thirty five, he could be sixty five.
I really don't know, but I'm gonna guess he's fifty
five fifty six.
Speaker 3 (05:53):
Wow, Yes, that's not bad.
Speaker 1 (05:55):
More Mario Lopez coming up.
Speaker 2 (05:58):
Mario Lopez. Here we find something to celebrate every day.
Today is World Cider Day. Do they make cider out
of anything other than apple?
Speaker 1 (06:07):
Is?
Speaker 2 (06:07):
All I've ever apple cider with is apple cider hotsider.
I've heard of hot hotsiders. Apple, right, Apple is the
only fruit that gets cider caraer cider?
Speaker 4 (06:16):
Is that a thing?
Speaker 2 (06:17):
Huh?
Speaker 4 (06:17):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (06:18):
We're gonna have to figure that out. But I do
like me some hisider wait a Mario Lopez here on
YouTube's Billion View Club as a new entry from the eighties.
(06:38):
The song I the Tiger from Survivor in the movie
Rocky three. Yes, title came from a line in the
movie where Paula Creed tells Rocky that he used to
have the Tiger. Survivor became sort of the house band
for the Rocky franchise and they killed it in every movie.
I'm happy for him, right'k it back to music. You're
all Maria Lopez, and I'm really looking forward to I
(07:00):
can out this new documentary on HBO. It's called Movie
Pass Movie Crash. It's about remember movie Pass. It gave
you access to movie theater tickets at a discounted rate,
and at one point it was the fastest growing subscription
service in Spotify, and then it went bankrupt. So it
pretty much chronicles the mission of its co founders and
(07:22):
its crazy early success to its downfall, which was due
to greed and mismanagement. It seems really fascinating.
Speaker 4 (07:31):
Also, the plan didn't really make a lot, Like I
had some friends who actually bought this and had subscriptions. Likewise,
it was like you would pay I don't know, fifteen
dollars a month or something, and you could go to
like two or three movies a week, which is a
good deal for you, right, but financially it doesn't make
sense on the other end that profit to be made.
Speaker 2 (07:47):
I'm curious on what happened because it does sound like
a fascinating premise in these days. Ironically, not as.
Speaker 3 (07:55):
Many people are going to the movies.
Speaker 2 (07:56):
Maybe would work now, I don't know, but shout out
to my guy Mark Wahlberg and his team for producing it.
This is my kind of flick.
Speaker 1 (08:06):
Mario Lopez coming up?
Speaker 2 (08:08):
What a Mario Lopez here. Hallmark expanding their holiday programming
into reality TV. They've announced new series, Hallmark Christmas Cruise.
It's going to follow Christmas super fans as they take
a five day journey on a ship full of Hallmark
Holiday stars. This is a horror film.
Speaker 3 (08:24):
This is funny. You can look for it this fall.
Speaker 2 (08:27):
There's a lot of cruises now that offer these sort
of special experiences.
Speaker 3 (08:32):
I remember New Kids on the Block.
Speaker 4 (08:33):
Yeah, artists have done this for a little bit.
Speaker 2 (08:36):
A friend of mine, Maxwell, the neo soul R and
B artist. He's doing it with other R and B acts.
Speaker 4 (08:41):
Creed just did one. Did they realize there was foot
at Nichols or or other producer. Nichols had sent me
footage of these people in this cruise ship rocking out
to Creed performing live.
Speaker 2 (08:50):
I would go to the Maxwell one, especially with some
of the artists. It sounds kind of cool and well,
we'd have to see about that.
Speaker 3 (08:56):
Right now.
Speaker 2 (08:56):
Let's get back to music. Mario Lopez here with details
of our next iHeart Radio album release party this Friday.
We're hosting John bon Jovie to celebrate his new record Forever.
He's going to be performing new tracks, talking about how
it all came together. It's kicking off at seven pm
on the iHeartRadio YouTube page.
Speaker 3 (09:12):
You can get all the info on with Mario dot Com.
Speaker 2 (09:16):
You're Mario Lopez with the most wanted TV shows for
bands and musicians.
Speaker 1 (09:21):
On with Mario Hollywood Buzz.
Speaker 2 (09:24):
TV shows have become a big way for bands and
artists to gain exposure. For instance, Stranger Things gave Kate
Bush a hit decades after its release, and I remember
the rem brands from Friends. That was their theme song
back when they used to have the theme songs. That
was a big hit because of the show Be There
for You, and the Dawson's Creek theme whose name I
(09:46):
can't paul.
Speaker 4 (09:48):
We just remember Gavin de Gars, our friend. He did
the one for one Hill on Tree Hill. That's true,
very a lot of examples. Told me that bought him
a condo or something.
Speaker 2 (09:57):
Yes, here are some other ones. Number five The Last
of Us turned the nineteen seventy Linda Ronstadt song A
Long Long Time into a hit in twenty twenty three.
The thing about music, there's so much of it, and
if it's a quality song, just like art, it never
really goes out of style. You just got to reintroduce
it to the public again. The Bear also brought back
(10:18):
She Drives Me Crazy from Fine Young Cannibals. Oh my gosh,
I remember when.
Speaker 3 (10:21):
That came out. That wasn't that long ago.
Speaker 4 (10:23):
It was that long ago.
Speaker 2 (10:24):
It wasn't long It was Yellowstones being credited for launching
Laney Wilson into stardom. That's true. She was not a
struggling artist, but but she hadn't really kind of popped
into a Yellowstone Stranger things. Besides, Kate Bush also boosted
Metallica's Master of Puppets and Euphoria brought back Ride down
the line from Jerry Rafferty. That's a great song. That's
(10:45):
on my About You playlist, right, Damn, that's a great song.
Speaker 1 (10:51):
More Mario Lopez coming up, y' all.
Speaker 2 (10:54):
Mario Lopez j LO fans are still reeling after she
completely canceled her summer tour. She says she made the
decision to quote, spend more time with her kids and family,
but she had already called off a half a dozen
shows earlier in the spring due to poor ticket sales.
I'm sure it was more along those lines, and that
played a big role. And there's those rumors, of course,
(11:17):
of trouble in paradise with her and her husband. She's
been going through it, so let's hope she has a
better summer. Mario Lopez. Here a quick reminder for you
about tomorrow morning's big announcement. We're revealing the lineup for
twenty twenty four iHeartRadio Music Festival presented by Capitol One.
We're back in Vegas for the fourteenth year, September twentieth
and twenty.
Speaker 3 (11:35):
First at the Team Mobile Arena.
Speaker 2 (11:37):
We're gonna have a chance for you to win tickets before
they go on sale, so be sure to tune in.
Speaker 3 (11:40):
First thing in the am. Right now, let's get back
to music.
Speaker 2 (11:44):
Here a Mario Lopez and a songwriter assuming more than
one thousand artists.
Speaker 1 (11:48):
On with Mario Hollywood bus Well.
Speaker 2 (11:51):
We've seen copyright lawsuits over songs in the past, but
nothing like this. Back in nineteen eighty nine, True Producers
released a song called fish Market was very luential and
led to the creation of the genre of reggae don
(12:14):
while I was waiting for some lyrics because reggae don
is basically sort of a Spanish fast version of reggae. Anyway,
these guys are now suing basically every artist in the genre,
including stars like Daddy Yankee and Bad Bunny. They claim
that that reggaeton beat was written by them, so they
deserve songwriting credits on all those songs.
Speaker 3 (12:34):
You know what, they're aiming high. Good for them.
Speaker 2 (12:37):
They have absolutely no shot, but they're aiming high. Good
luck with that, kids.
Speaker 1 (12:41):
More Mario Lopez, coming up.
Speaker 2 (12:44):
Mario Lopez Here. There's a lot of new stuff on
the iHeart Radio app What do We Got?
Speaker 4 (12:47):
Ricky Martin talks about his new role on Apple TV's
Palm Royal.
Speaker 2 (12:52):
Yes, talk to my friend Eric Winter and his wife
Roslynd Sanchez on their podcast.
Speaker 3 (12:58):
He said aave ecle.
Speaker 4 (13:00):
To winner in our Big Billy Eilish Sweepsakes. Congrats to
Taylor from Cleveland. All right, Taylor, You're gonna have a
great time. And Vanessa Hudgens told us how she got
turned onto the jam band Fish.
Speaker 2 (13:10):
Yes she is happy and pregnant right now. Was nice
catching up with her. Just search on with Mario for
that one. It is all on your iHeartRadio app. What
Amara Lopez here in the success of the Amazon show
Fallout is spilling over into the video game world. Since
the series premiere two months ago, gamers have increased six
hundred percent. The game Fallout seventy six now has more
(13:30):
than twenty million downloads. Whoa TV show has become Amazon's
second most watch series behind Lord of the Rings.
Speaker 3 (13:37):
Oh my gosh.
Speaker 2 (13:38):
This means, of course, because Hollywood has to follow suit
in everything, we're gonna be having more video games turned
into movies. Hmm. Now I'm trying to.
Speaker 3 (13:49):
Think what video games would be good movies.
Speaker 2 (13:50):
We're gonna have to come back and think contra huh.
Speaker 3 (13:53):
Oh, that was a good one.
Speaker 2 (13:54):
Not Pitfall, all right, So congratulations, it got renewed for
season two. You're on Mario Lopez time. Now for one
last thing, Lenny Kravitz, My man is on a spiritual
journey right now that Iced Tea cannot understand. Lenny said
he has been celibate while he tries to find his
next partner. He says he hasn't gotten any action in
(14:14):
nine years. Really, the revelation shocked Ice Tea and yours truly,
who tweeted that Lenny is a weirdo.
Speaker 4 (14:24):
You tweeted that as well.
Speaker 2 (14:27):
Look what I think is weird is him working out
in leather pants? Yes, that's weird. If he is trying
to be on the spiritual journey and waiting for the one.
Speaker 3 (14:38):
Then you know, more power to him.
Speaker 2 (14:39):
That requires a lot of discipline. It does sound like
he's trolling us, but hey, we're gonna have to take
him for his word.
Speaker 1 (14:46):
Mario Lopez will be right back.
Speaker 2 (14:48):
All right, I'm out here, but I'm back tomorrow. More
music and fun and a new Lifeack in Courtney's Corner
until then, Mario Lopez saying good night
Speaker 1 (14:57):
With Mario Lopez
