As a premiere of Hit Makers, creativity and ego collide
in this all access reality series that follows a group
of gifted songwriters as they pen hits from music's biggest stars.
I love shows like this. What was the last one.
Speaker 2 (01:00):
That they did? There was one on NBC with Ryan Teter.
Speaker 4 (01:08):
These people are so incredible. I love the shows like this.
Speaker 2 (01:10):
I feel like it's a lot of added pressure to
just come up with a song on the spot while
the cameras are on. I feel like you get these
sort of ideas when either in the shower or maybe
you're driving, or right without the without the pressure there
of the camera.
Speaker 5 (01:22):
I mean, maybe some people work better under pressure. People
worry differently.
Speaker 2 (01:26):
So yeah, we'll see.
Speaker 4 (01:27):
And Peacock begins streaming their new limited series Epic Ride
The Story of Universal Theme parts, a three part docuseriies
celebrating the history and legacy of universal destinations and experiences
leading up to the opening of Epic Universe.
Speaker 2 (01:42):
Cool you were just there right, Yes, and it is
pretty epic.
Speaker 4 (01:45):
And britt Box has a series premiere of Code of Silence,
a crime thriller where a deaf woman is recruited by
detectives to lip reed surveillance footage of a dangerous criminal gang,
but her feelings for one of the suspects complicates the situation.
Speaker 2 (02:00):
Ooh, that's I like that premise.
Speaker 3 (02:01):
I'm my original good premise.
Speaker 2 (02:02):
Let me tell you something. My grandparents were deaf.
Speaker 5 (02:04):
They were one hundred percent deaf, and my grandmother could
read lips like no one else. You couldn't get anything
past her. She couldn't hear, but she still knew.
Speaker 2 (02:12):
Yeah, music rolls on. You're all with Mario Courney Lopez.
You more songs and then going to stop in the
Courtney's Corner for another healthful life hack or two. Any
hints about today's hack, Honey, Well.
Speaker 4 (02:22):
Today we're talking about preparing for the chaos of back
to school. I can't even believe I'm saying it's.
Speaker 2 (02:28):
Not already, is it? Oh my gosh, Back with Cordo's Corner. Inten,
don't move all right, trole Mario Courtney Lopez. I'm to
share another helpful life hack preparing for back to school
today in Cordo's Corner. Honey, it's around the corner.
Speaker 3 (02:43):
Believe it or not.
Speaker 4 (02:44):
I was just a target and I saw them setting
up the back to school signs and I just thought this,
So this can't be happening. No, So Good Housekeeping is
ready to help parents out with a checklist they put
together to help you get organized. So you're not rushing
around last night in it. So organize school supplies before
buying more. Make sure you know what they have left
(03:06):
over from last year so you don't waste money. I've
done this before. They need folders. I stack away folders
that they didn't use the previous year, and then forget that.
I have them set up a kid's cupboard with their
snacks and essentials so they can resupply on their own.
Make them do stuff we have that they don't resupply it.
Speaker 2 (03:27):
But we have that.
Speaker 4 (03:27):
Yes, organize outfits for the week in the closet to
speed up getting ready in the morning. Luckily, our kids
go to Catholic school, so I don't have to worry.
Speaker 2 (03:34):
About that uniforms.
Speaker 4 (03:36):
But I always set out their clothes for something the
night before because it's just easier. Create a file or
one central drawer for permission slips, class notices, and more
so there's a known go to place for all the
important stuff, especially when you have more than one kid.
I'm stressed already.
Speaker 2 (03:54):
I'm stressing myself out.
Speaker 1 (03:57):

if you are going to partake in adult libations, it
does have the medicinal benefits and is the healthiest of
(05:24):
the drinks. If you drink it on the rocks, you
won't wake up with a hangover, and it's actually healthy
for your body with proper consumption.
Speaker 4 (05:33):
Yes, otherwise I'll be naked on a table dancing.
Speaker 2 (05:36):
Don't give it crazy with it, Jomar Courtney Lopez. Time
for a few birthday shout outs.

I try to make Irwin work. Oh bad, she is
thirty one. Oh leave that in there. I'm saying, yeah,
that was bad. You can see what you're making me do?
Speaker 6 (06:17):

Speaker 2 (06:18):
She's now thirty four twenty seven, Yeah, twenty seven. She's
added rough over there in Australia.
Speaker 5 (06:23):

You're all Mario, Courtney Lopez, Nick Cannon joining us after
the top of the hour. So why don't we make
things a little competitive and squeeze in a mini pop quiz?
All right, Fraser, what theme have you devised?
Speaker 5 (08:00):
Well, since it's National Tequila Day, it is tequila trivia.
Speaker 4 (08:05):
Oh yeah, you're going to win because you're an alcoholic.
Speaker 3 (08:08):
Wow, that's not so.
Speaker 2 (08:10):
Your buzzer's ready. Get your hands on your buzzers.
Speaker 5 (08:13):
Tequila is a town in which Mexican state Mario the
state of that is correct, although Nicol spelled it incorrectly.
It was one zero.

Speaker 5 (08:38):
What is the second most popular tequila cocktail after margarita?
Speaker 2 (08:43):
That was Mario Bareley Paloma. That is correct. Wow, two
to one. By the way, if you want to make
a sort of a homemade Poloma, just put tequila with
squirt and tastes exactly the same.
Speaker 4 (08:54):
And that's your cousin's name, and that's what your aunt
was drinking that night.
Speaker 2 (08:57):
Man, I didn't realize sports still existed. That was such
a great drink when I was a kid. It's a
great tequila. Is fantastic to stop by Costco on the
way home.
Speaker 5 (09:06):
Next question, in what year was Don Julio Tequila founded?
Speaker 4 (09:13):
According nineteen sixty seven.
Speaker 5 (09:17):
Incorrect, eighteen sixty four incorrect, nineteen forty two.
Speaker 2 (09:21):
Nineteen forty two. My gosh, waiting, I try to get crazy.
It's nice still two to one today nineteen forty two,
and I drink the nineteen forty two as well.
Speaker 3 (09:32):
I'm mad.
Speaker 5 (09:32):
Still two to one two left, here we go. Clear
tequila is known as what that is courney four three
two incorrect silver, silver or blanco. So it is now
three to one. This is going to be worth forty
(09:55):
five points.
Speaker 2 (09:56):
I don't know why, but it is.
Speaker 5 (09:59):
I do know which of these celebrities has never launched
a tequila brand ac DC, George Clooney, Adam Levine, Shakira
or Justin Timberlake Corny ac DC incorrect, Adam Levine incorrect.
Speaker 2 (10:20):

Speaker 2 (10:28):
Wow?
Speaker 4 (10:29):
The way you were pronouncing her name, No, I realized
the first time.
Speaker 5 (10:35):
I didn't do it in the cartoonist way that I
normally do. So then I went back and what is
that more?
Speaker 1 (10:43):
Mario Lopez coming up?
Speaker 2 (10:45):
Keeping the music and fun coming your way?

You interview celebs, you play cards at the same time, right.
Speaker 3 (12:21):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, just in the backyard.
Speaker 7 (12:23):
So it's all about setting the cultural setting of just
like talking mad.
Speaker 2 (12:29):
Ish and is it just spades or you mix it up?
Speaker 3 (12:32):
Nah, it's just spades.
Speaker 7 (12:33):
We just saw because that game is kind of known
for like the smack talk. Yeah, you know how loud
you can be and cracking jokes on each other, so
that that literally sets the tone for like amazing conversations.
Speaker 2 (12:46):
Man, you know, I love card games, and believe it
or not, I don't know how to play spades.
Speaker 3 (12:51):
You know what it is, though, I'm gonna be honest.
Speaker 7 (12:53):
I feel like like Latinos your.
Speaker 3 (12:57):
Card well one, we all play dominoes.
Speaker 2 (12:59):
Yes, I know how to play. I know how to
play bones.
Speaker 3 (13:02):
But I feel like what card game is for like
the Latin coat we play.
Speaker 6 (13:06):
We play a game called a c doucy, but it's
more you know, I was gonna say gin yeah, yeah,
but I got to learn how to play spades because
I like that's definitely like that's it's.
Speaker 7 (13:20):
Such a like a backyard cookout, family reunion, black culture game.
Speaker 3 (13:26):
And it started like during like you know, World War two.
Speaker 7 (13:30):
And like the Midwest, so it's like one of those
things where it really is like a cultural state. I
definitely know, like I do have some Latino friends that
know how to play.
Speaker 2 (13:43):
Yeah, no, I want to learn.
Speaker 3 (13:45):
I want to learn. You gotta pull up on.
Speaker 2 (13:46):
I got to learn, and then I'll pull up I
want to go get to smoke.
Speaker 7 (13:50):
A lot of people have come on the show and
we teach them and that's what the episode becomes about
us actually teaching them how to play.
Speaker 2 (13:59):
Okay, okay, well.
Speaker 1 (14:00):
Not then I'm await hang on Mario Lopez.
Speaker 2 (14:03):
Next, catch it up with Nick Cannon this hour. Mario
Lopez here, new season of this podcast. We play in spades.
Just premiere and and then you've had you've already had
guests on the show, right, you've already been shooting for.
Speaker 4 (14:13):
Like a while.
Speaker 7 (14:14):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, this is season three and I've hosted
the last two seasons. Well that's going to be And then,
like it's usually like a bunch of you know, personalities
other podcast, there's specifically a lot of you know, comedians
and things like that.
Speaker 3 (14:29):
So who's been the best player?
Speaker 7 (14:31):
Everybody from Kevin Hart to Miss Pat to everybody on it?
Speaker 2 (14:37):
What a Mario Lopez here got Nick Cannon on zoom
with us this hour, So tell me about this. He
also got a new late night show called Nick Cannon
A night was just premiere. Congrats on that. You said
you were reinventing late night. Tell me about the show.
Speaker 7 (14:49):
I mean, it's reinventing late night in a bunch of
different ways, but specifically in this space of you know,
we're used to seeing late night come on on network
television and it kind it's a very standard thing.
Speaker 3 (15:03):
So the fact that this is like a.
Speaker 7 (15:05):
More of an interactive opportunity to you know, through through wondery.
But then at the same time, it has those vibes
where it's all about those almost late night radio shows
that we used to listen to to, where it's all
about relationships, sex, love. People are calling in with their
problems and it's myself and a professional whether it's a
(15:28):
doctor or a clinician or a therapist, and then usually
like an entertainer or a comedy and we just take
people's questions and then you know, in the last act
of the show, I always go out and do the
man on the streets and actually talking to the people
about you know, relationships and all of that stuff.
Speaker 3 (15:45):
So it's a lot of fun.
Speaker 2 (15:46):
I like that. Man, Hey, I'm done for that one
as well.
Speaker 3 (15:48):
That one I know, pull up and you know it's dope.
Speaker 7 (15:51):
We shoot it in Hollywood at y'all'm a shiro, so
you done it almost like dinner theater vibe. Everybody's like
eating and drinks and it's it's a real practical environment.
Speaker 3 (16:02):
It's kind of dope.
Speaker 2 (16:03):
That is dope and geographically convenient for me five minutes
from here, so.
Speaker 3 (16:06):
Let it exactly right around the corner.
Speaker 2 (16:09):
All right, a few more songs and we're gonna come
back with some more Nick Canon, getting back to Nick Cannon,
who's been hanging out on Zoom with us this hour
your own Mario Lopez and Nick. You already talked about
your podcast, the new late night Show. Of course, still
host some mess singer over on Fox.
Speaker 3 (16:24):
Now.
Speaker 2 (16:24):
I hear there's gonna be some creative enhancements that are
gonna premiere in January. Are you allowed to discuss those?
Do you know what they are?
Speaker 3 (16:31):
On maths?
Speaker 2 (16:32):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (16:33):
Yeah, I mean you know, I don't know if I
can give it away, but it's just we're up in
the game. Let's just say that, and I mean going like, man,
we've been thirteen fourteen seasons of a show. You gotta
definitely figure out how to keep it fresh.
Speaker 3 (16:48):
I think we got it.
Speaker 2 (16:50):
And along with the judges, you don't know either, right.
Speaker 3 (16:52):
Nick, I never know.
Speaker 7 (16:53):
Well, I honest say I never know because a lot
of times it's people that I help booking there.
Speaker 3 (16:59):
My friend, there's like two buckets.
Speaker 7 (17:02):
But outside of that, yeah, like if I don't if
and even like when I asked people like, you know,
I had a conversation. I was like with Lil Wayne,
which was a dream to have him when he was
just a fan because he had saw Tea Pain. So
I was like, don't tell me what his costume is
gonna be, don't tell me what episode when, And so
I still didn't even know until he took took it
(17:24):
off and I was like, oh, it ended up happening.
So I'm part of the guessing game as well. I'm
always trying to figure it out.
Speaker 2 (17:31):
That's fun. T Paint is still my all time favorite too,
just because that dude can really sing, and you because
of all the auto tone, auto tune, you don't think
about it, but I'm like, my guy can really actually sing,
which is awesome.
Speaker 7 (17:40):
Yeah, And I feel like that was the catalyst for
him actually using his real voice and he does all
the time in his career.
Speaker 6 (17:47):
Now.
Speaker 2 (17:47):
Yeah, no, that was a perfect platform for him, right there. Man, nice,
One more thing I want to ask. We're gonna take
quick break and come back and wrap it up.
Speaker 1 (17:54):
We're the full interview now at On with Mario donc
more Mario Lopez on the way.
Speaker 2 (18:00):
Wrapping up with Nick Cannon. You're all Mario Lopez, And
before you go, Nick, how are the kids?
Speaker 6 (18:04):
Man?
Speaker 2 (18:04):
How they all doing?
Speaker 3 (18:05):
Everybody's good man?
Speaker 7 (18:07):
You know, summertime, so summer activities and camps and all
of that of school. So I am a professional show
for picking everybody up and dropping them off.
Speaker 2 (18:17):
I know how that is, man uber right there, brother,
hey man, always respect the hustle. And I hope you
take me up and I'll go meet you Yama shure.
We'll get some sushi right there too. Let's do it
in the meanwhile, everyone, please be sure to catch Nick
shows were playing in Spades and Nick Cannon at night
right now on YouTube Wondery or wherever you get your podcasts. Nick,
thanks for checking in.
Speaker 3 (18:37):
Man, All love always, man, All right, brother, good to
see you. Good to see you too.
Speaker 2 (18:42):
All right, just a few songs away from asking a
random question, Mario Courtney Lopez here, why we'll wait for
that about a random thought from Quardo? Anything good bouncing around?
Speaker 5 (18:50):
Honey?
Speaker 4 (18:51):
Yeah, I have a lot of things bouncing around.
Speaker 2 (18:53):
In my head. Okay, well hit me with the one.
Speaker 4 (18:55):
But now that we're older and early two thousands, music
is back. Do you think Cisco can come back and
write a banger about full coverage shapewear? Because I just
I need full coverage. Now I'm not about that thong anymore.
Speaker 2 (19:10):
Okay, full coverage coverage, Coverage doesn't have the same ring,
doesn't have the same ring. Time for a random question,
you're all, Mario Cordy Lopez, what you got?
Speaker 4 (19:20):
This is inspired by the Benedict Cumberbatch story that we
mentioned in the What's Trending stuff earlier. He revealed the
job that would have been his backup career if he
acting had not worked out. So my question is to you,
Mario Lopez, what would you have what would have been
your backup career if acting, hosting, dancing, all the things
(19:40):
that you do did not work out well.
Speaker 2 (19:45):
My plan was to go to college and maybe wrestling college,
and hopefully that would have helped pay for things. And
then I want, I think I was going to get
into newscasting and uh journalism right there for the sole
purpose of you know what. They only worked like an
hour a day, so I thought they're on TV for
an hour. True though, no it's not. But I thought,
(20:05):
oh yea yeah, I could do the five o'clock news
in fifty six, I'm out of there. I'm on TV.
I'm probably making a pretty good money. It seems like
a nice little career, which, by the way, I love
and I'm kind of essentially doing an extension of that anyway. Sure,
but you never know, maybe I end up there a
full circle moment that would be that'd be fun, So
you never know.
Speaker 1 (20:24):
Or Mario Lopez coming up.
Speaker 2 (20:26):
Oh, Mario Lopez. A little reminder that our Heart Radio
Music Festival is back this September nineteenth and twentieth in Vegas,
two nights, one stage. I'm talking about live performances by
Room five, Ed, Sharon Murah, Carrie, Brian Adams, Tate McCrae,
Tim McGraw and more. Get your tickets now at Access

(20:52):
Here are getting close to the end of our radio fun.
Just one last thing to get too, plus probably enough
time to play a request or two before I get
out of here. So if you got a song you
want to hear, hit me up at all on Mario
on x JO Mario Lopez, Time for.
Speaker 1 (21:06):
One last thing.
Speaker 2 (21:09):
There's a new comment in our solar system that was
discovered a few weeks ago. Scientists say it's an interstellar object,
meaning it originates from outside of our solar system. One
scientist from Harvard says there's evidence to believe that it's
actually an alien spacecraft. Come on, I believe it. He says.
The odds of a comet of this size existing is
extremely low, and the object appears to be aiming towards
(21:30):
the inner Solar System as well, almost as if it's
being steered. NASA has classified the object, known as Atlas
as a comet. Ooh, that's very very interesting. It sounds
like something from a movie. What are we supposed to
do with this information? Are we supposed to stress out?
Is it going to hit our solar system?
Speaker 3 (21:47):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (21:48):
