Speaker 3 (01:23):
Yes, it's gonna be called.

Speaker 2 (01:25):
The Mandalorian in grogu and Jon Favreau is back to
direct it. Oh, this is gonna be incredible.

Speaker 3 (01:32):
This is day night for my Sunday night. That's right.

Speaker 4 (01:35):
And this will be the first Star Wars film since
Rise of the Skywalker ended the sequel trilogy, so I
know you guys are definitely looking forward to that.

Speaker 3 (01:43):
I'm excited. I'm actually really excited. I like the TV show.
This is going to be great.

Speaker 5 (01:47):
Is this the one that Dominic thinks has too much conversation? No,
he likes this one, okay, and or is the one
with too much contation?

Speaker 6 (01:54):
And here a Mario Courtney Lopez and I finally have
got missus Lopez to start training in jiu jitsu, not
just her, but our daughter Jia, whole family.

Speaker 2 (02:08):
They're gonna be family of fighters. They're gonna be crazy,
they're gonna be training together. Well, here's the thing. It's
in all women's class because jiu jitsu very intimate, very physical,
and uh maybe I'm a bit old school, but I'm
fine with they're doing that with ladies, and it's it's
good to know. It really is the gentle art. It's
a thinking person's martial arts, and it's incredible self defense.

(02:32):
So god forbid you're ever in a position. It's good
to know you're already strong and athletics. So I think
you're gonna I think you're gonna like it, and I
think it's a good bonding for you and Jia.

Speaker 3 (02:40):
I know you're just humoring me, but I hope you
do like it. Arguments of your house are gonna get chaotic.

Speaker 2 (02:47):
I know.

Speaker 3 (02:47):
Oh that's right. We're gonna be throwing down.

Speaker 4 (02:50):
I'm gonna shoot first, then I'm gonna choke them out
with There you.

Speaker 3 (02:53):
Go with the sonnies like strange Toddler strength. He's gonna
win it, all right.

Speaker 4 (03:00):
You know, it's something to try I don't like being barefoot.

Speaker 3 (03:04):
What do you mean you're like being barefoot?

Speaker 4 (03:06):
I'm gonna wear you wear yoga socks.

Speaker 3 (03:09):
No, you have to be barefoot. I don't have to
be barefoot. Everybody is barefoot. What do you mean you
don't like to be there? If they're not always barefoot
at the house? But I don't.

Speaker 4 (03:17):
I never like to dance barefoot.

Speaker 3 (03:20):
Girls do though. I never like that.

Speaker 4 (03:21):
I never liked it. I just don't like being barefoot.

Speaker 2 (03:24):
Put your barefoot on a mat. You're not barefoot on
the on the floor. Your and the mats are clean.
It's your barefoot on the mat. Trust me, you need
to be barefoot.

Speaker 3 (03:31):
If we use some of those like foot glove shoes, no, no,
I know what I want to do.

Speaker 4 (03:35):
The toes that are like THEO you.

Speaker 3 (03:37):
Can wear them.

Speaker 2 (03:38):
Robert Professor Roberts said, she text me she don't like
to be She just messing with me.

Speaker 3 (03:41):
I go, I think she's just messing with you.

Speaker 4 (03:43):
And then I told him, and I told him, I
go have this thing. I'm afraid of pinky toes and
if they get close to my face.

Speaker 3 (03:52):
Stupid.

Speaker 4 (03:53):
But the true I don't like to be barefoot in
classes more.

Speaker 3 (03:58):
Mario Lopez coming up, Mario Courtney Lopez. Here was some
quick buzz for you.

Speaker 2 (04:03):
Keanu Reeves is adding a new title to his resume novelist.
It's going to be called The Book of Elsewhere, about
an immortal Warriors fight through the ages.

Speaker 3 (04:12):
Oh, look at that.

Speaker 4 (04:13):
Well, hopefully he will read his own audiobook because a
lot of people get somebody different to read them.

Speaker 3 (04:17):
But this is the Book of Elsewhere. Okay, it's most excellent.
Thank you. All right, let's get back to the Oh
that was I like it? What Mario Lopez?

Speaker 2 (04:31):
Here, just a few more songs and I we're going
to get to today's guest. It's Josh Hutcherson from Hunger
Games fame. His latest movie is The bee Keeper with
Jason Statham.

Speaker 4 (04:40):
Plus he's had big success with Five Nights. That Freddy
is our son's favorite. We'll talk about all those things.

Speaker 2 (04:47):
So, Bro, Mario Lopez joining now on Zoom for the
new movie The bee Keeper actor Josh Hutcherson.

Speaker 3 (04:52):
Welcome to the show Man. How you been, I've been, well,
how you been? I'm good, buddy, I'm good. Nice to
see you.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
Now.

Speaker 3 (04:58):
I know this movie isn't about bee so what is
the premise.

Speaker 7 (05:02):
Or it's this day, it's you know, it's it's Jason
Statham rippin' heads man. It's like classic Jason just getting
after it. It's it's a hardcore kind of revenge story.
He plays what in our universe we created, it's called
a beekeeper, which is basically, when there are these certain
entities that exist outside of government institutions, outside of any

(05:25):
kind of institution at all, and when things kind of
hit the fan, they come out and they fight for
justice to protect the hive.

Speaker 3 (05:32):
That's why they're called bee keeping.

Speaker 7 (05:33):
Nice and my character, Derek is this guy who is
a piece of work, absolute cryptobro billionaire, out of touch
with reality guy, and he has this side hustle that
basically scams older people out of their life savings. I
scam a wrong person that activates Jason to come out
of retirement and and try to hunt me down.

Speaker 2 (05:57):
There's people like you that exist in real life, unfortunately,
So unfortunately there are.

Speaker 3 (06:02):
Yeah, oh funny, there are.

Speaker 2 (06:04):
Uh you've got some bold wardrobe choices in this film,
rocking snake skin boots, leopard print shirts. Yeah, how's that
compared to your personal fashion choices?

Speaker 7 (06:14):
I mean it's obviously very I mean you can see
what I'm wearing now, it's very uh breadth all the time. No,
it's uh, you know, I keep it safe, man, I
keep it a lot of neutral colors, dark stuff. And
Derek is like the polar opposite. He does literally missing
snake skin boots with leopard print shirts and uh it's
a lot of gold and greens, diamond stud earing frosted

(06:37):
tips with like a faux hawk shape.

Speaker 3 (06:39):
So he's like, he just goes these balls to the
wall and uh.

Speaker 7 (06:42):
When designing the character, we kind of thought about this
guy's wildly insecure, has all the money in the world,
and it's completely out of touch with reality.

Speaker 3 (06:49):
How would that person dress?

Speaker 7 (06:50):
And thus you can see how Derek dresses.

Speaker 3 (06:54):
I love it. I love it.

Speaker 6 (06:55):
Well.

Speaker 2 (06:55):
I got to ask you about five nights at Freddy's,
but we got to take a little break the whole time.

Speaker 3 (06:59):
We're gonna have with Josh Hutcherson coming up.

Speaker 1 (07:01):
More fun on the Way On with Mario Lopez.

Speaker 3 (07:04):
A Mario Lopez here. My guest is Josh Hutcherson.

Speaker 2 (07:07):
From the new movie The bee Keeper, but also in
the works a movie called Little Mouth with Dennis Quaid.

Speaker 3 (07:13):
Yeah, Dennis is fun man, he's fun. Yeah. Story, what
can you tell us about that project? That was when?

Speaker 7 (07:20):
Actually we shot that last in July maybe or so yeah, July,
I think. And it's a cool it's actually it's it's
one of those movies that you make and then as
time progresses it becomes more relevant. It's about using AI
and quantum computing to try to contact other species, extraterrestrials.

(07:43):
And my character is kind of this.

Speaker 8 (07:46):
Bit of like a spiritual tech geek kind of guys
extremely like well versed in the world like quantum computing
and things like that, and we build a quantum communications
device to try to reach out and make contact.

Speaker 7 (08:00):
And Dennis Quaid plays the kind of the financier of
this whole project, and David Fuilis plays the mad scientist,
and Isabelle Furman hoked them Hunger Games. She plays my
kind of cohort sidekick scientist in that.

Speaker 3 (08:16):
But it's a fun one. I haven't seen it yet.

Speaker 7 (08:18):
They're still kind of bringing all together, but it's a cool,
cool movie.

Speaker 3 (08:22):
We'll be on the lookout for that.

Speaker 2 (08:23):
Hold on, Josh got to play more music, Mario Lopez here,
I got Josh Hutcherson on Zoom with me and Josh.
I wanted to lead with this disc is on a
personal my son, one of my sons, my ten year old.

Speaker 3 (08:36):
He is the number one.

Speaker 2 (08:38):
Five nights of Freddy's fan. He's seen this damn movie.
I'm not exaggerating at least thirty five times. It's crazy
because he watched it himself over and.

Speaker 3 (08:48):
Over and over. How kids do.

Speaker 2 (08:49):
Then he made every member of my family watch it,
my individual, oldest individually, my dad individually, Drude, he's obsessed.

Speaker 3 (08:59):
But were you surprised while success? Yeah, man, it's uh.

Speaker 7 (09:03):
I think it blew a lot of us away that
we're involved with making it. You know, the game, the
finafe like, yeah, videos they're they're they're absolutely rabid, and
they they have fan more and there's like so many
iterations of the games and then they're hard, they're right
or die type fans. So we knew that it wouldn't connect,
you know, on that level, and then that was kind

(09:24):
of one of the big goals, was to make something
that the fans would really it would resonate with them,
and you know, a lot of Easter eggs from the
game and the movie and stuff. But I think what
this movie did that was the unexpected element, and the
hope for element was they would have a big crossover
audience kind of It's almost like an intro to horror
type tone, which is very cool and like you said,
like the younger audiences can see it and it's not

(09:46):
too scary, but it kind of opens up because I
love horror films and that genre is I think phenomenal.
Uh And to find a movie it's cracking something that
people have tried to crack for a long time, which
is how do you make a horror film that can
engage the younger audience, Because I mean, I know that
I saw a scary movie.

Speaker 3 (10:03):
I saw The Exorcist.

Speaker 7 (10:04):
Way too young and.

Speaker 3 (10:09):
Traumatizing.

Speaker 7 (10:09):
I think that to find something that has those elements
of horror but it's not going to traumatize somebody, I
think it's hard to do. You know, we didn't expect
this level of of of audience, you know, engagement.

Speaker 1 (10:23):
Yo.

Speaker 2 (10:24):
Al Mario Lopez talking Five Nights of Freddy's with Josh
Hutcherson and is there a sequel in the works.

Speaker 3 (10:29):
They haven't confirmed anything yet.

Speaker 7 (10:31):
I'm very hopeful and waiting to dive back in.

Speaker 3 (10:34):
I mean, the thing is the story.

Speaker 7 (10:36):
We're based in the world of the games, and there's
so many versions of the games, and they want to
find the best way to move forward. But I'm excited
to get back into it.

Speaker 3 (10:46):
Yeah, it was.

Speaker 7 (10:46):
It was a fun, fun world to play in.

Speaker 3 (10:48):
That's awesome. Good for you and all the memes of
you and the whistle song.

Speaker 7 (10:52):
You tell me, Mario, you you You're more in the
world of what people are doing and up to the night.

Speaker 3 (10:57):
I have no idea. It came out of absolutely nowhere.
I'm here for it. It's fun to be a part
of something like that. It's like the new role which
is great.

Speaker 7 (11:06):
It was even only the official Democrats TikToker or Instagram
or something with Joe Biden like drinking a coffee cup
and I was there that pop up.

Speaker 3 (11:14):
Uh, no idea, but I love it. It's great. Total
coff of VETERI vet well. We really appreciate your time.

Speaker 2 (11:20):
Congratulations on everything, and listen, you can watch The Beekeeper
in theaters now, Josh, thanks so much for hanging out.

Speaker 7 (11:27):
Thank you man.

Speaker 1 (11:28):
You're the full interview now at on with Mario dot Com.
More Mario Lopez on the way.

Speaker 3 (11:33):
Mario Lopez. Here was some quick buzz for you.

Speaker 2 (11:35):
The documentary about Selene Dion has found a streaming home.
It's called I Am Celene Dion. Right to the point.
It's about her battle with stiff person syndrome, which has
forced her to postpone her world tour. It's going to
air on Amazon Prime.

Speaker 3 (11:51):
Should be pretty interesting. Still no premiere date, however, borrow
Courtney Lopez. There was some quick buzz for you. It
looks like LARSA Pipman and Marcus Jordan's are headed to Splitsville.

Speaker 2 (12:13):
No, nobody is happier than Michael Jordan.

Speaker 3 (12:18):
I gotta tell you.

Speaker 2 (12:20):
They've unfollowed each other on ig oh and removed all
the picks.

Speaker 4 (12:25):
Well, they haven't updated their podcast since November, and they
first started dating when the rumor started back in September
of twenty twenty two. I've been watching The Real Housewives
of Miami and he's basically on every episode and they
show their podcast and they cannot at the time, could
not be apart from each other for like three days.

(12:46):
It was like torture.

Speaker 3 (12:48):
Oh gosh, that seems problematic. Good luck, kids, you're mark.
Courtney Lopez has time to dish out some common sense justice.

Speaker 2 (12:55):
All rise Courtney's court is concision. So today's case comes
from at J.

Speaker 3 (13:02):
Henley fifty five.

Speaker 2 (13:03):
They say, my son and his wife visited us for
the holidays. On the first morning, my daughter in law
said she had bug bites. It happened to me maybe
twice before. No big deal, but she was adamant that
she moved to a hotel. I think she overreacted.

Speaker 4 (13:17):
What do you say, So she woke up with bug
bites and she's complaining, Are they bed bugs or bug bites?
Because those two totally different things.

Speaker 3 (13:27):
That's a really good question. Let's assume they're not bed bugs.

Speaker 4 (13:32):
Okay, bug bites or bug bites. I mean you're going
to get them.

Speaker 3 (13:36):
So get that repel.

Speaker 4 (13:37):
Yeah, Like like really, you're making a big deal over See.
This is one I can't stand how people just let loose,
like pick and choose your battles. Think before you speak.
Is it necessary let the bugs have their way with you?

Speaker 1 (13:51):
There you go more Mario Lopez coming up?

Speaker 3 (13:55):
What almar Courtney Lopez.

Speaker 2 (13:56):
Here, let's take a look at this year's iHeartRadio Music Awards.

Speaker 3 (13:59):
Are who do we got for Best Tour Style?

Speaker 4 (14:03):
We have Beyonce, Carrie Underwood, Doja, Cat, Harry Styles, Sizza,
Sabrina Carpenter, Taylor Swift, Elton John and Madonna. A very
eclectic and different group.

Speaker 3 (14:16):
I'm assuming tour style is their theme or is it
the way they party on the road.

Speaker 4 (14:24):
I think it's the overall production of the of the
door itself?

Speaker 3 (14:28):
Got it? Well, Taylor's gonna be hard to beat for
that one. I think it's their travel style. Is it
private jet? Is it bus? Is it call? Taylor's gonna
be hard to be for that.

Speaker 2 (14:36):
As a matter of fact, your votes will determine who
picks up the trophy on April first. You can see
all the categories and nominees over at almara dot com
slash Awards.

Speaker 3 (14:45):
Mario Lopez he.

Speaker 2 (14:46):
Or my wife Courtney, Who's about to step into the
spotlight to give us Courtney's random thought?

Speaker 1 (14:50):
What you got on? You? God?

Speaker 4 (14:51):
I love a spotlight? Okay, Why don't our bills ever
go on sale?

Speaker 3 (14:55):
You guys?

Speaker 4 (14:55):
It's like, hey, pay two rents and you can get
the next one half off.

Speaker 2 (15:00):
Contrary here in La, hey pay two Rancid and it's
going up next a month.

Speaker 3 (15:04):
Again, you're all Mario Courtney Lopez, and we finally caught
up on the Apple TV doc on Michael J. Fox.
It's called Still, and it was great.

Speaker 2 (15:14):
It's only one episode, It's about an hour and forty minutes.

Speaker 3 (15:19):
And I've always loved Michael J. Fox.

Speaker 2 (15:21):
He played one of my all time favorite TV characters,
Alex P. Keaton, and along with all kinds of great
movies Back to the Future of course, I even loved
him an American president. They didn't show that necessarily in
the doc, but he's just one of my all time favorites.
And it was such a People might go into it
thinking it's going to be very sad, and obviously it
has those moments, but I found it uplifting and I

(15:41):
thought the love story between him and his wife was
so beautiful and it made me like him and his
family and especially her even more.

Speaker 3 (15:51):
Didn't you love it?

Speaker 1 (15:52):
No?

Speaker 4 (15:52):
I you know, we know that he suffers from parkinson
Parkinson's and we know he's had it for a long time,
but it tells you. He tells you about when it
started and how he hit it for seven years. I mean,
it's just it really really takes you there, but you know,
not necessarily in a depressing way because he's come to
grips with that. He comes to terms with it, and

(16:14):
his family is just an incredible support system, so you're
happy for him.

Speaker 3 (16:18):
That's the highlight there, So yeah, check it out if
you have it.

Speaker 1 (16:21):
More. Mario Lopez coming up, Mario.

Speaker 2 (16:24):
Lopez, here was some quick buzz for you. Katy Perry
is leaving American Idol. Katie will have spent seven seasons
in the judge's chair. I can't believe she spent that
much time. She was reportedly making a lot of money too,
like twenty five million, but she started dealing with a
little controversy and she actually got booed in front of
a live audience this last season because I think if

(16:46):
joke she made about someone's fashion, or maybe they didn't
take it as a joke, something along those lines.

Speaker 3 (16:51):
I don't know if that had anything to do with it.

Speaker 2 (16:53):
He or she just got busy, but I'm sure those
things didn't help. She plans to head back on the
road this fall. I love me some Katy Perry, so
she'll be just fine.

Speaker 3 (17:03):
Amara Courtney Lopez, here was some quick buzz for you.

Speaker 2 (17:05):
Jemmy Renner looking a return to the Marvel Universe. He
says he can do about ninety percent of the things
he usually does on an action set.

Speaker 3 (17:13):
Wow. Good for him. Wow.

Speaker 4 (17:14):
He thinks he's about only six months away from complete recovery.
It's thirteen months since his brutal snowplow incident, so he's
he is doing very well.

Speaker 3 (17:24):
That is miraculous. Comeback.

Speaker 2 (17:26):
Nice you're Amar and Courtney Lopez.

Speaker 3 (17:29):
Let's get to your comments. Would you find honey?

Speaker 4 (17:31):
This is from at TP three and and she said,
father daughter Dan's looks so much fun. Did you go
to Sizzler afterwards? That was the move back in the day.

Speaker 3 (17:42):
Oh, Sizzler. Shout out to Sizzler. Are they even still
a round?

Speaker 2 (17:46):
Yeah they are, Yeah, they're out. Sizzler is like red Lobster.
It's on that level right there. I think it might
be as it might be a lower class.

Speaker 4 (17:55):
I think it's lower class, but I do think it's Sizzler.

Speaker 5 (17:58):
No, no, no, I'm saying I don't think it's on
the same levels red Lobster, because I did see a
sign once that said like, oh you can eat two
ninety nine shamp or something, and that seemed unsafe.

Speaker 4 (18:05):
And I do think they still have a salad bar,
which I'm a huge fan of.

Speaker 2 (18:08):
Yes, yes, But getting back to your original question, the
father daughter dance is something I always.

Speaker 3 (18:14):
Look forward to.

Speaker 2 (18:15):
This was our first year at a new school and
it could not have gone better. The venue was awesome.
Our DJ shout out to Djlivia, she was fantastic. My
wife did a fantastic, incredible job organizing it and putting
it all together. And the highlight for me, of course
is always getting to dance with my daughter. And it

(18:37):
was so funny because these kids were into it from
the beginning.

Speaker 3 (18:40):
They were dancing from the first song. They did not stop.
They loved it.

Speaker 2 (18:44):
The dads were really involved, had so many people.

Speaker 4 (18:47):
It was a different vibe from the other father daughter dance.

Speaker 2 (18:49):
Like they really appreciated it and they really got the
moment that they get to have a special time here
with their daughter one on one.

Speaker 3 (18:57):
And people even came up to you, right Oh.

Speaker 4 (19:01):
I had a dad come up to me because myself
and two other moms organize this and shout out to us.
I had this one dad come up to me and
he was teary eyed and he said to the three
of us, I just want to thank you guys for
doing this. This was my very first father daughter dance
and I took my daughter out to dinner, you know,

(19:24):
us getting dressed up. I really wanted tonight to be
about me teaching her how a man treats a woman,
and it just he just went on and on and on,
and it was just you know, it makes you all
the stress worth.

Speaker 2 (19:35):
It, absolutely, But there's so much more I want to
tell you, So let's take a little break.

Speaker 3 (19:39):
We'll come back and tell you more.

Speaker 1 (19:40):
More Mario Lopez coming up.

Speaker 3 (19:43):

What a Mario Lopez here in DC has picked up
their latest Supergirl. It is actress and Millie Alcock, who
plays young Greniera Targarian on HBO's House of the Dragon.
She'll get her own movie Supergirl Woman of Tomorrow, but
we could see her show up before that.

Speaker 3 (20:30):
Ooh, okay, she's good on that show too.

Speaker 2 (20:32):
Supergirl, by the way, is the cousin of Superman, not
sister or girlfriend. She most recently had a CW series
that ran six seasons. Step On, Mario Courtney Lopez, and
we were just talking about our recent father daughter dance
at our new school.

Speaker 3 (20:50):
Always the highlight for me.

Speaker 2 (20:52):
And it's so funny the taste in these kids as
far as the music. They were requesting so many different
things to the DJ and they would get played and
she'd put a cool little twist to it. But man,
I see why Taylor Swift is selling those tickets the
way she does.

Speaker 3 (21:08):
They knew every single word to every single.

Speaker 2 (21:11):
Song of the mixes and it was just next level
that the the sing along.

Speaker 4 (21:17):
Was wow, not just knew the words, but lost their
minds like she was there in person.

Speaker 3 (21:23):
Absolutely.

Speaker 2 (21:24):
Meanwhile, my daughter, who's like an old R and B
soul is requesting Sizza Keisha cole Brian till I was like,
I mean, I like it.

Speaker 3 (21:34):
I like reminds me of my sister.

Speaker 2 (21:36):
My daughter is just like my sister, looks like her
and has the same flavor of music.

Speaker 3 (21:42):
Like her as well.

Speaker 2 (21:45):
And what was I thought a poignant moment when I
was dancing to Luther Vandross's Dance with My Father Again,
which is a heart warming song.

Speaker 3 (21:55):
I'm holding her.

Speaker 2 (21:55):
And I'm like, gosh, I was a four to these, Gia,
this is the highlight of my year. We've only got
a few more of these until you get married, to
which my daughter responds.

Speaker 3 (22:05):
That's if you're still alive.

Speaker 1 (22:07):
Oh.

Speaker 3 (22:07):
I'm like, dang, yeah, well, dad, you're so old.

Speaker 2 (22:10):
I don't want to get married. I don't want to
get married past thirty. Would you gonna be like seventy?
I'm like, thanks, she.

Speaker 3 (22:17):
And I wish she was joking, but I think she
was serious. You know what, I'll take it. She can
roast me all she wants. It's still made for a
great night. She keeps her real real mean.

Speaker 1 (22:29):
More fun on the way on with Mario Lopez.

Speaker 2 (22:32):
All right, I am out of here, back tomorrow with
more music and fun. So let's keep the hits coming
Mario Lopez. He is saying salute drawn loud
