on zoom from the new movie Beautiful Disaster, actor Dylan Sprouse.
(03:39):
Welcome to the show, Matt. How are you? How are you?
Speaker 6 (03:41):
Mario?
Speaker 2 (03:42):
This is a twofer. I get to talk to you
so close, back to back like this.
Speaker 6 (03:45):
This is great.
Speaker 2 (03:46):
I hope you're not getting Mario overload, but it is
nice to us see you. Congrats on the movie, man,
it looked really cool. Got to see the trailer and
actually a couple of scenes. Beautiful Disaster is the name
of it. Describe the premise for us.
Speaker 6 (04:01):
Yeah, I'll jump right into it. So it's based on
a popular book series that we adapted of the same name,
and it takes place in a sleepy college town where
a young girl, Abby Abernathy, trying to escape from her
gambling past, ends up falling in love with the underground
(04:23):
fighter Travis Maddox, who, while she resists at first, comes
to love him. And so it's a romance based around
these two very flawed individuals with a lot of butt
kicking and a lot of comedy in between.
Speaker 2 (04:37):
Yeah, the underground Fighter you essentially MMA, I think, is
what you started training and right were you training before that,
Dylan or casually? I'm sure you got really got into
it for this role.
Speaker 6 (04:51):
Certainly got more into it while I was in this role,
for sure. But yeah, I've always trained in mixed martial
arts here and there. I you know, took MMA, jiu jitsu,
taekwondo growing up. But you know, nothing could have really
prepared me for the amount of work that I had
to do for this project, particularly well.
Speaker 2 (05:11):
The film is called Beautiful Disaster. It's out now. Hold on,
we have more with Dylan Sprouse coming up.
Speaker 1 (05:16):
Mario Lopez returns after this.
Speaker 2 (05:19):
What a Mario Lopez here got actor Dylan Sprouse from
in a movie beautiful Disaster? And is it true, Dylan
that the studio has already greenlit a sequels this film?
Speaker 6 (05:27):
They sure have? Yeah, which is the congreat blessed position.
We've already filmed it, believe it or not?
Speaker 2 (05:33):
Really? So did you did you do both of them
back to back?
Speaker 6 (05:36):
We didn't shoot them back to back, but we did
shoot the second one pretty recently. We went down to
the dr to shoot it. So it was fun. It
was a fun shoot. But yeah, so I feel very
privileged to be in a position. It's definitely a vote
of confidence for them. So that was kind of cool to.
Speaker 2 (05:53):
See absolutely in cool locations Bulgaria, Dominican Republic. Okay, nice man,
All right, well hold on, I got to get back
to music. What on Mario Lopez here, My guest today's
actor Dylan Sprouse. And I read you learned how to
sword fight for a role a few years back. Where'd
you learn how to do that? It did? I went
to China.
Speaker 6 (06:12):
I was in Beijing. I assumed this movie out there
for a long time. We shot for six months out there.
Speaker 2 (06:18):
Oh, Wow, how was that?
Speaker 6 (06:20):
It was honestly amazing, man. I had such a cool
experience out there. I loved Beijing, where we were kind
of a station for the majority of it. We traveled
all over That's where a station for the majority of it,
and it was really just living out my childhood fantasies,
riding horses and learning how to sword fight and doing
(06:41):
a lot of hand to hand combat. So that was
very cool. Sure, it certainly was fun. I definitely recommend
doing it if you can.
Speaker 2 (06:48):
I'm convinced. All right, hold on, Delan got to play
more music. John Mario Lopez got Dylan Sprouse on zoom
with me. Also in the works a movie called Aftermath.
What can you tell us about that?
Speaker 6 (07:01):
After Math's great? So Aftermath is is me and a
few very very talented actions. I don't know how much
I can give away, so I'll try to keep it
pretty brief, but essentially, there is a bridge attack and
my character comes to the rescue. So it's very action oriented.
(07:23):
And it's been funny doing a lot more action films
these last few years for me, because if you asked
me four years ago whether I would be doing action films,
I don't know. If I would have said yeah, But
I think people have liked to see so that's kind
of interesting for me and I have a ton of
fun doing them, so unhappy.
Speaker 2 (07:46):
Good for you, man, Good for you man. Love it
all right, old, I gotta take a little brever' gon
More with Dylan Sprouse coming up.
Speaker 5 (07:51):
Well, you're the full interview now at on with Mario
dot Com More Mario Lopez on the way.
Speaker 2 (07:56):
Mario Lopez, you're wrapping things up with actor Dylan Sprouse.
And what's up with your IG page? Dylan? Did you
take down all your posts?
Speaker 6 (08:03):
Did not take down on my posts? No, my IG page,
I just have one post going at a time and
I rotate the first one out on all the time.
The rest of its kind of drew like this weird
TV set about man seven years ago, and so I
try to keep it simple. I'd like a curated page.
It makes it more interesting.
Speaker 2 (08:24):
Hey, keeps our focus on point right there, I get
it right. Well, you know what. Congrats on everything you've
got going on. Be sure to watch Beautiful Disaster. It's
now on demand. Dylan, Thanks for hanging out, man, and
I hope to see you again in person soon.
Speaker 6 (08:39):
Thanks again, mari.
Speaker 2 (08:51):
A Marl Courtney Lopez. Let's put a spotlight on my wife.
It's time for Courtney's random thought. What you got honey?
Speaker 3 (08:57):
You guys, how come Sultan Peppa has never were collabed
with the Spice Girls?
Speaker 2 (09:03):
Why hasn't?
Speaker 6 (09:05):
No?
Speaker 2 (09:05):
Wait, sorry, that's a really good random thought because just
the title alone in explaining it, Salt and Peppa collabed
with Spice Girls to come at you with all rack
because you know you got all the rack with the
Spices and it could be a double on time, right
to see what I did? Right there? See what I did?
Ooh yes, yamaro, Courtney Lopez got some slapstring a year
(09:30):
older when I'm trying to guess the ages.
Speaker 4 (09:31):
Rachel Zegler from West Side Story.
Speaker 3 (09:34):
She was Maria right, Yes, she is twenty years old.
Speaker 2 (09:39):
I'm gonna say she is twenty two.
Speaker 7 (09:40):
Twenty two is correct? Oh of Coursina Hendrix from Madman Good.
Speaker 2 (09:44):
Girls, I'm gonna say she is thirty six.
Speaker 4 (09:47):
She's forty forty eight.
Speaker 2 (09:49):
Wow, great, she looks great.
Speaker 4 (09:50):
And Bobby Canavale from a Bordwark Empire Third.
Speaker 2 (09:53):
Watch, I'm gonna say Bobby is fifty six fifty eight.
Speaker 4 (09:57):
Fifty three O.
Speaker 1 (10:00):
It's Mario Lopez after this?
Speaker 2 (10:01):
What al Mario Lopez here and William Shatner maybe ninety
two years old, but he's still working. Just announced new
reality show called Stars on Mars Bill invites celebrities into
a space simulation. They're eliminated until there is one left.
Look at him Go. Debuts on Fox in June. Right now,
those some more music, Yomar Courtney Lopez on his Day
(10:22):
in History thirty seven years ago. In nineteen eighty six,
this became the biggest song in the country.
Speaker 5 (10:33):

Speaker 2 (10:38):
Hey Addicted to Love by Robert Palmer. Of course epic video,
but the girls are all dressed in black with.
Speaker 3 (10:43):
A shiny red hair and a slick bun.
Speaker 2 (10:45):
Right, that's it? You know. It was originally supposed to
be a duet with Shaka khan Oh, but her label
would not let her work with Island Records. Politics got involved.
But I think that was a happy yeah, happy yeah,
because it worked out well. Amara Cordey Lopez. Let's get
your tweets and comments.
Speaker 3 (11:02):
Would you find this is from at smelly Age. I
hope it's a good smell watching Mario Lopez drive at
Monster Jam and I can see him as the next
fast and the furious a villain. What's funny you say
that because he drives like that on a normal basis.
Speaker 2 (11:17):
Yeah right, they do. Thank you, Smelly, Let you drive
a monster truck. So my son and I went to
the Monster Jam at Sofi Stadium, huge stadium with the
Chargers play. They had the Super Bowls last year, and
it's so much They was packed by the way. I
couldn't believe it. But it's so much fun seeing my
son and his friend's reaction. They loved it. It is
so loud, though. You have to wear because I don't
(11:40):
know how many thousands of horsepower each of those trucks are,
but you have to wear like the head things.
Speaker 3 (11:44):
So there's multiple going driving at one time.
Speaker 2 (11:47):
Oh yeah, they have races. They flip over, they have
a little tractor come and they put them back on
all four wheels and it's a good time seeing it.
It comes fast and furious, ironically, and they have competition
and we got to meet the drivers and actually drive
a little bit before. So it was a good time.
Thank you Monster Jam.
Speaker 5 (12:03):
Get us up on Twitter, Get on with Mario and
hang on more. Marial Lopez on the way.
Speaker 2 (12:09):
Bi Lopez here, my wife Courtney. Every day give me
a holiday. What are we celebrating.
Speaker 3 (12:13):
Today, Oh, paranormal day.
Speaker 2 (12:16):
You are a big fan where you're not a big fan.
You're a big fan of paranormal activity because you don't
like ghosts. Correct, Well, I don't.
Speaker 3 (12:25):
It's not that I don't like them. I just find
it interesting, and I'm I find them interesting when they're
not where I am.
Speaker 2 (12:32):
See. I take a lot of comfort in my faith,
and once I do the sign of the Cross, I'm
good to go a figure. No ghosts can get me.
I tell my son the same thing. It doesn't seem
to work right now, but I tell him the safe day.
Speaker 7 (12:44):
Well you do say that, however, according as said, if
she dies before you, she's going to haunt you.
Speaker 3 (12:48):
Oh I will why I want.
Speaker 2 (12:49):
To get the house blessed and.
Speaker 3 (12:50):
No, oh no, no, I know all your tricks. So
I'm going to be just standing there smacking it out
of your hand.
Speaker 2 (12:56):
When they do the extorcist in all these what do
they call they call the priest have to calm with
the thing wor straight. But I'm gonna be a good
go You're gonna be a Catholic ghost so maybe tricky,
I gotta get creative.
Speaker 3 (13:05):
I'm gonna be a good ghost.
Speaker 7 (13:06):
You're gonna horrors around the house. In that way, it's
like it's beneficial for him as well.
Speaker 2 (13:10):
Yeah, what aut Mario Lopez here, he got your first
look at the new season of HBO's True Detective Love
This it's not a normal series. I guess it would
be a sort of a interestitial mini series, but it's great. Nonetheless,
Jody Foster is on the case, this time, trying to
solve the case of six men who vanished in the
long Winner of Arctic Alaska. No release date yet, they
(13:33):
said it's just sometime later this year, so looking forward
to that. But you can see the trailer right now
at Omario dot Com. You're a Mario Lopez and Woody
Harrelson wants Matthew McConaughey's DNA.
Speaker 1 (13:45):
On with Mario Lopez Hollywood.
Speaker 2 (13:47):
But so I thought this started off as a joke,
but apparently Woody wants to see if there's any truth
to it. Matthew McConaughey's mom knew Woody's dad from back
in the day, and according to Matthew, they may have
hooked up. Oh what his father has passed away, so
the only way to confirm it is to check Matthew's DNA. Well,
(14:07):
I'm glad out of respect they're doing it after what
his father had passed away. This is so wild. I
think these guys really like extracurricular activities together, and they're
going down a rabbit hole. I've always said one of
the greatest first seasons of TV was the pairing of
them to first season A True Detective. I wish we
could revisit that duo.
Speaker 1 (14:26):
Mario Lopez will be right back.
Speaker 2 (14:28):
What all Mario Courtney Lopez here. Ryan Murphy has announced
the subject of Monster season two. We love this miniseries, honey.
It is the Menendez brothers, who, of course murdered their
parents back in nineteen ninety six.
Speaker 3 (14:41):
Oh yes, they sure did. The first season was about
Jeffrey Dahmer and that was a huge hit on Netflix.
Speaker 2 (14:47):
We saw that and it was really really good, great
anthology series. All right, Ryan Murphy, all right, more music now,
Mario Courtney Lopez here, Let's see what's turning on the website.
Speaker 3 (14:56):
Details of the divorce for the Imagined Dragon singer. Okay,
Katie Perry getting booed on American idol.
Speaker 2 (15:03):
O what she do okay?
Speaker 3 (15:04):
And why Megan Trainer lets her husband shave her legs.
Speaker 2 (15:08):
You know, Megan Trainers letting us in on a little
too much inside information. And I like her. Remember she
likes to go to the bathroom with him.
Speaker 4 (15:16):
They have double toilets.
Speaker 2 (15:17):
That's that's a little come on, Megan Trainer. You can
see what all the buzz is about it on the
Mario dot com wl Mario Courtney Lopez. And it's time
for one last thing. Our son Dominic comes up to
me and says, Dad, and he shows me a picture.
I want my hair like this, And it was a
picture of young Leonardo DiCaprio, Jack from the Titanic, and
(15:39):
he had a really cool wig at the time. It
kind of, you know, long in the front, kind of
hung over. We'll put it on the website just to
remind you. So I said, okay, cool. So when we
took him to get a haircut, let it get a
little longer. He loved it. But he also says, Dad,
I still want my mullet though, I just want like
this in the front and the mould in the back.
I said, it doesn't work like that. Have you heard
the expression business in the front, party in the back.
(16:00):
You can't be partying the front, party in the back
too much, party too much. He's like, no, Dad, you
don't know. I still want the mullet. And the reason
he wants the mullet is because the real stud high
level wrestlers, for some reason, all.
Speaker 4 (16:10):
Rock mullets molts are back.
Speaker 2 (16:12):
Yeah, so he wants that. So he wants to He
wants to like billiar Ay Cyrus in the back and
DiCaprio from Titanic in the front. And I'm like, it's
not you know what, it's going to be like the
movie we were talking about Cole spross a beautiful disaster. Yes,
I said, you can't. And he's arguing with me with
I go, you got to pick one. You can't do both,
Yes you can, and we got into a passionate debate.
I just walk away, Yes, smart, more fun.
Speaker 1 (16:34):
On the way on with Mario Lopez.
Speaker 2 (16:37):
All Right, I am out of here, back tomorrow with
more music and fun. So let's keep the hits coming
Mario Lopez.
Speaker 5 (16:43):
He was saying salute with Mario Lopez
