Speaker 1 (00:00):
You're On with Mario Lopez.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
Had way through the week one of Mario Lopez here
back to hang with you for the next few hours.
A lot of radio fun to get into the hilarious
rebel Wilson's gonna be zooming in later with the scoop
on her new movie Bridehard and some more. Plus can
share another helpful life hack, ask a random question and
take a musical journey into the past with our throwback soundtrack.
So turn it up. You're on with Mario Lopez.

Speaker 1 (00:26):
It's up.

Speaker 2 (00:26):
You're on Mario Courtney Lopez, and I want to mention
something that happened this past week and I've been wanting
to talk about it. I can't believe it. It's been years,
but I finally got a moving violation, a ticket from
the California Highway Patrol.

Speaker 3 (00:40):
Hold on, So, when they pulled you over and you
rolled the window down and said, yes, it's me, they
didn't respond, well.

Speaker 2 (00:47):
This is one hundred percent my wife's fault, and I'm
gonna explain why. I'm gonna explain why. Here's the irony too.
I should preface it by saying there's a stretch of
highway by where I live where there's never anybody, and
I go far too fast. No no, no, no, no no,
I've been starting to I've been starting to slow down
because of this now this morning.

Speaker 3 (01:06):
If it's the stretch that we've talked about, I go
way too fast on that Tia.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
Everyone I think goes way too fast. The only place
in LA you can do it exactly, So I take
advantage of that. My point is I've deserved real tickets. Ironically,
here I was going maybe three four miles an hour. Seriously,
it was gridlock traffic and we're on our way to
the South Bay driving from LA and my wife wanted
to take her car because she doesn't like drive my car. Well,
her car has the worst GPS in the world, and

(01:32):
she was down on the way.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
How is it? What do you mean?

Speaker 2 (01:36):
Because you know what a normal GPS. It gives you
the exits coming up on the left, and it shows
you what's about to happen, and it's.

Speaker 3 (01:43):
Just not user friendly.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
It is not It is awful, okay, And because she
was sleeping, I didn't turn on trying to be nice
the little voice because the voice would have helped me.
So I'm looking at the GPS going three four miles
an hour. Mind you, I'm staring at it because it
was a split in the freeway from the five and
the seven ten, and I'm like, am I supposed to
go to fight seven ten? And it finally like at the
last second it said seven ten and I was on

(02:05):
the five, of course, so I crossed the double yi
at three miles an hour, not knowing there was a
call behind me, Oh pull me over. And then the
cop was like twelve years old too, and he had
to go to my wife's side. And I guarantee, if
I was alone, I would have been able to talk
my way out of it. But because a woman's there,
he'd probably tried to flex.

Speaker 4 (02:24):
Yeah, and that was cute, you know.

Speaker 2 (02:26):
Yeah, I'm just yeah, exactly. I so deserve a ticket
so many other times, listen, and I got the ticket
for the stupidest thing. The fortunate thing is that now
you can go to driving school online. Oh that's good,
and it won't count against your record. He said, you
have a clean record, you should be fine. I feel
like saying, yeah, you should have just let me off
with a warning. I still have a clean record if

(02:46):
you'd done like the previous cops. Yeah, that was that
was a ridiculous, ridiculous call. So, honey, no more, what
a weekend it was.

Speaker 3 (02:54):
There are real crimes being committed.

Speaker 1 (02:56):
Come on more, Mario Lopez coming up.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
Omar Courtney Lopez. Time to get some fresh life acts
in Courtney's corner. My wife finding little things so hopefully
make your life a little easier. What you got, honey.

Speaker 4 (03:06):
So we're talking pets in the fourth of July. Yes,
this is their worst nightmare. Specifically, ways to keep them
calm during fireworks, which can terrify dogs and cats because
they hear so incredibly well. So try to keep your
pet in the most centrally located room in the house.
Maybe you have a bedroom or a bathroom that's away
from all of the walls.

Speaker 2 (03:28):
It'll be a little quieter in there. That's a very
good idea because they're already very sensitive what you're hearing.

Speaker 4 (03:33):
Yeah, a nice distraction like a new bone, something they
can chew on for a long period of time.

Speaker 2 (03:38):
Help it distract them.

Speaker 1 (03:39):
Yeah, I like.

Speaker 4 (03:40):
Music, TV or a sound machine in the room that
you put them in.

Speaker 2 (03:44):
Okay, we've got that.

Speaker 1 (03:45):
I have that.

Speaker 4 (03:46):
Yep, CBD or Melantone treats. They can help your dog
remain calm. We have some of those from nature Vet.

Speaker 2 (03:52):
Yes, those are really good.

Speaker 4 (03:54):
And make sure your pet gets a bunch of exercise
earlier in the day because that can make them sleepier
and relyaer get them exhausting. Try a thundershirt. It's a
compression shirt for dogs that makes them feel like they
are being cuddled.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
Wait, I like that for me more. Mario Lopez coming up,
Rio Courtney Lopez here. We got a message in our
inbox courtesy the talkback button on the iHeart Radio app.
This is from Paulette and San Diego. Who's having a
bad day.

Speaker 5 (04:24):
I'm just heading home from work and I'm sick as heck,
but I'm about to take.

Speaker 1 (04:30):
Some night quill, drink a tea and go to sleeve.

Speaker 3 (04:37):
Ma'am, this isn't RB's.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
That sounds awesome and cozy. Yeah, shutting it down early.
We hope you feel better, but we appreciate you tuning
in on your ride home and listen. If you have
something you want to tell, let's just hit the talk
back button on the bottom of your Heart Radio app.

to see what's on your mind that's coming up next.

well so we can dig into our mentions. Hit us
up on x and Facebook, at on with Mario and
on Insta at on with Mario Lopez. What you got
for us today, Fraser.

Speaker 3 (05:19):
This is from at Back it up, Terry, Mario. Yesterday
you were talking about alligators and crocodiles. How do you
know that crocs are meaner than gators? What's the test
used for that?

Speaker 2 (05:28):
Back it up, Terry? You better back it up because
I'm not just kicking knowledge pulling it out of thin air.

Speaker 6 (05:34):
I was.

Speaker 3 (05:35):
You said they're larger and meaner. Yes, he didn't question
the larger part.

Speaker 2 (05:39):
I believe. I actually asked the crocodile hunter himself when
he was okay back in the day, because I was
asking him what is the difference, generally speaking, between crocodiles
and alligators? I think he hit me with, well, crocodiles
you'll see after a while. Alligators you'll see just a
little later. And then I said, okay, seriously though, he.

Speaker 3 (05:57):
Was like cheesy like that with jokes, and I met
him once. He's the nicest guy in the world.

Speaker 2 (06:01):
Love that guy, and in great family. His kids are
great tools. He actually said that crocodiles are all are
derivative from like a dinosaur. They are naturally more aggressive
and bigger. So I think he's a pretty story.

Speaker 3 (06:14):
Came from an expert.

Speaker 2 (06:15):
It came from literally an expert.

Speaker 1 (06:17):
Mario Lopez. Will be right.

Speaker 2 (06:19):
Back, Mario, Courtney Lopez here, and let's put a spotlight
on my wife and get to Courtney's random thought. What
do you got, honey?

Speaker 4 (06:25):
H Well, if practice makes perfect but nobody is perfect,
why practice?

Speaker 2 (06:32):
This is why I like the saying. My coach used
to say, perfect practice makes perfect. You've got to practice
perfectly to an order to execute perfectly. But nobody's perfect,
no individual is. But a feet can be perfect, Like
people have scored a perfect bowling game. They've scored you
know what I mean. You've had perfect darts and billiards

(06:53):
and stuff like that, So you can have a perfect feet,
but no individual is perfect. So that's what he would say,
perfect practice.

Speaker 4 (06:58):
You know who's perfect?

Speaker 1 (07:00):
You?

Speaker 2 (07:01):
Yeah, I know.

Speaker 1 (07:04):
You all.

Speaker 2 (07:04):
Mario Courtney Lopez quickly going over to my wife to
see what weird holiday we're celebrating today. What do we got?

Speaker 4 (07:10):
It is National Eat Beans Day and then run and
get tons of toilet paper.

Speaker 2 (07:15):
Listen, beans are a great source of iron and I
love me some black beans, in particular over some rice.
Mix it up with a little meat. Right there, top
three beans go black beans. The brown beans from the
pand right there are really good. And then Alima all

what you can tell us about those pitch perfect form rumors.
Back with Rebel and ten Don't Move It's Obra Mario
Lopez joining me right now, actress in comic Rebel Wilson.

Speaker 6 (08:25):
How you doing, Rebel him Maria. I'm really good. How
are you.

Speaker 2 (08:29):
I'm well, It's always great to see you. Congrats. You
got a new movie out called Bridehard. People are saying
it's Bride'smaid meets Diehard, which is an awesome log line.
And you're like a full on action star on this one.

Speaker 6 (08:40):
Huh, this one. I mean, it's just a fun movie.

Speaker 5 (08:43):
If you won't go to the cinema and I have
popcorn and just like have a fun time.

Speaker 6 (08:48):
This is it.

Speaker 5 (08:48):
It's not pretending to be anything else. And yeah, I
really like doing the action stuff. The director Simon West.
He's done really cool action movies like conn.

Speaker 6 (08:58):
Air and tomb Raid.

Speaker 2 (09:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (09:00):
Wow.

Speaker 5 (09:01):
So I really liked like getting to kick and punch
and do all the action.

Speaker 2 (09:07):
It's fun. Nice.

Speaker 6 (09:08):
Yeah, it's really fun.

Speaker 2 (09:09):
And it's cool. You team back up with your pitch
perfect costar Anna in this movie as well. That would
have been fun getting back on set together.

Speaker 5 (09:16):
I know Anna Camp, who I've known now for fourteen years,
like all the bellas, you know, We've just been friends
for such a long time, and I just like, I
love partnering with her. She plays the bride in the
movie and I played her maid of honor, and so
that wasn't difficult to play best friends because we've been
friends for so so long now, God, it's so long since.

Speaker 6 (09:37):
The original Pitch Perfect movie. But yeah, it was great
to reunite with her.

Speaker 2 (09:40):
Yeah, that's always something you get to work with your
friends again. All Right, lots more to talk about, quick break,
and we're going to come back with some more rebel, more.

Speaker 1 (09:47):
Fun on the way on with Mario.

Speaker 2 (09:48):
Little Pet getting back to Rebel. Wilson is on Zoom
with us this hour, and new movie is Bride Hard.

Speaker 1 (09:54):
Now.

Speaker 2 (09:54):
I know you play a spy in this movie, and
I don't know if it's true, but tell me, did
you almost join Australia version of the CIA in real life?

Speaker 6 (10:02):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (10:02):
That's I love how that story is now coming up.
They're probably going to be like, what the hell why
is she talking about this now? But basically, I did
do very very well at school academically, and I got recruited.
I got off at a scholarship and I was going
to have to those sign a seven year contract if
I accepted the scholarship. So I decided not to go

(10:25):
down that route, but at the time, like, I mean,
who wouldn't want to be a spy? Like, I think
it's awesome, so fun and so interesting and you're helping
your country, and.

Speaker 6 (10:35):
You know, I would still be open to it.

Speaker 5 (10:37):
Sometimes hate their conspiracy theories that some actors are actually spies.

Speaker 2 (10:43):
So well, being a spy is all about being an actor,
so it makes sense essentially, right, good undercover, I mean
I think you will.

Speaker 6 (10:50):
Know what I could go undercover now that people do recognize.

Speaker 2 (10:53):
Its hard when you're famous. That is true, all right,
More with Rebel Wilson coming up first, More music. Catching
up with Rebel Wilson this hour, Mario Lopez here, a
new movie is Bride Hard. But you also got a
Christmas movie on the way with Keith for Sutherland called
Tinsel Talent. What can you tell me about that one? Yeah?

Speaker 6 (11:12):
So that one I did shot earlier in the year.

Speaker 5 (11:15):
And it's set in England and it's my first Christmas
movie I ever did.

Speaker 6 (11:20):
So to a scene where.

Speaker 5 (11:21):
You're coming out with snow and it's all Christmasy.

Speaker 6 (11:24):
Fine, it was so cute because being from Australia, we
have hot Christmas.

Speaker 2 (11:29):
That's right, that's right my Christmases.

Speaker 5 (11:31):
So it's like it was really nice to do, like
a classic classic British Christmas movie.

Speaker 6 (11:38):
Yeah, it was cool. So so that'll be out for Christmas.

Speaker 2 (11:40):
Oh nice, nice this year, looking forward to checking that out.
All right, Rebel, one more thing I want to ask
I'm back to wrap it up with Rebel Wilson after
Little more music. Wrapping up with Rebel Wilson, who is
on zoom you're all Mario Lopez before you go, I
know you recently said that Pitch Porfeit four scripts are
in development. Would you be back of that installment DS
up happening?

Speaker 6 (12:00):
Oh, definitely, definitely.

Speaker 5 (12:02):
I mean, all of us girls, we love the movie
so much and we love working together. It's kind of
like not really a job, it's just fun for us. Yeah,
and I'm so proud of all everyone's word. Everyone's gone
on to have these amazing careers and half of us
is directing movies now and it's it's just really awesome
to see.

Speaker 6 (12:22):
But we all really want to come back. So hopefully
next year it will go into production.

Speaker 4 (12:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (12:28):
I like those movies. I hope they hope that comes
to fruition. Well, congratulations on everything always nice to see
you and everyone. Please be sure to check out Rebel
in her new movie Bridehard. Thanks for stopping by, Thanks Mario,
thank you, take care of somebody all season.

let's put a spotlight on my wife because she's got
a new joke. Let's see what's up, honey.

Speaker 4 (13:20):
So this is a little known fact. Before the crowbar
was invented, crows had to drink at home.

Speaker 2 (13:27):
Hey, good delivery. Wah wah, you're Amaro Courney Lopez. Let's
put a spotlight on my wife for Courtney's random question.
What do you got?

Speaker 4 (13:39):
All right? The year is nineteen eighty seven.

Speaker 2 (13:41):
Oh that was goodyear. Really what the whole decade was good?

Speaker 4 (13:45):
And just okay, it just sounded like something specific happened.
You can tell me if because you probably were dating.

Speaker 3 (13:51):
I was only four, four, uh maybe six.

Speaker 4 (13:55):
I was a little young.

Speaker 2 (13:56):
Couldn't even drive them. But go on, well, you're.

Speaker 4 (13:58):
Trying to sneak into an R rated movie. Which one
do you choose? The Lost Boys, RoboCop, Predator or Full
Metal Jacket.

Speaker 2 (14:08):
The Lost Boys, which is probably one of my favorite
vampire movies because it was these young guys. You'll keep
for Sutherland. I think both the coreries were in it.
But it had a great soundtrack, music was great, and
it was cool. They took place in Santa Cruz, California
at night, and it was it was It was like
a sexy, cool movie. Yeah back then Robo Cop. I'd

(14:31):
be sneaking into Robo Copy. I mean it was great,
and I love Chrozneker and the Predator. Full Metal jackets
a little hardcore for a kid, Yeah that's a kid, No,
But the Lost Boys was like cool, that was a
cool flick.

Speaker 1 (14:40):
All right, Mario Lopez will be right back.

Speaker 2 (14:44):

Speaker 2 (15:13):
Ah Mario Lopez. Almost time to pass some mic, but
not before we squeeze in one last thing, and it's
got to do with urban legends first though some more music.
All R had time for one last thing? What aut
Mario Lopez here? Way back before Internet rumors, in fact,
before the Internet itself, we had urban legends, remember those?
But not everything we were told growing up turned out

(15:34):
to be true. So board Panda dropped the list of
some of the dumber urban legends that didn't exactly pan out,
like what, Fraser.

Speaker 3 (15:41):
It's illegal to rip tags off of pillows and mattresses.
That's only true for the manufacturers.

Speaker 2 (15:46):
Yeah, I always wondered why that was the case.

Speaker 3 (15:48):
That was That was a I thought that was like
one of the dumbest things that people used to say
all the time. It's like, who's gonna even know, Like
do they come check?

Speaker 2 (15:54):
Yeah, and you don't rip it off, you cut it
with the scissors exactly.

Speaker 3 (15:57):
You can target tummy fat and just xx size that no,
fat does not know where it lives. You have to
actually do more than just you know, target your tummy fat.

Speaker 2 (16:06):
For example, I gain weight my face.

Speaker 3 (16:09):
Okay, so you have to target your face fat, face,
and belly. You only use ten percent of your brain.
We actually use all parts of our brain, not just
ten percent.

Speaker 2 (16:18):
Oh okay.

Speaker 3 (16:19):
And if you go out without a coat and hat,
you might catch a cold. I mean there's a chance.

Speaker 2 (16:24):
Yeah, there's alway, there's always a chance. But yeah, that's
that's that's I feel like that's something a Mexican mom
would say.

Speaker 1 (16:30):
More Mario Lopez coming up.

Speaker 2 (16:33):
That's it quick. Thanks again and Rebel Wilson for zooming
in on right dot Com for my full chat with her.
More fun tomorrow.
