Yeah, al Mario Courtney Lopez taking a quick look at
the Hollywood Buzz because Selena Gomez is a married woman.

Speaker 1 (02:28):
On with Mario Hollywood Buzz.

Speaker 2 (02:31):
We didn't have time to get to this yesterday. There
was a lot going on. But a big congratulations to
Selena Gomez and music producer Benny Blanco. Nice.

Speaker 3 (02:40):
They tied the not this past weekend in an intimate,
star studded ceremony in Santa Barbara. The couple, who were
engaged in December twenty twenty four, celebrated with about one
hundred and seventy guests at a private estate and shared
the news on social media with photos and videos of
their big day. The exclusive guest list included many of
the couples, a list friends and collaborators. Gomez is only

(03:03):
Murders in the Building co star Steve Martin and Martin Short,
her close friend Taylor Swift, and other notable figures like
Paul Rudd ed Sheer and Paris Hilt and Camila Cabello.
They were all in attendance. Mark Ronson even DJ'ed the
reception very cool. The newly weds both wore custom Ralph
Laurent designs for their wedding day, Selena Gomez wearing two

(03:23):
custom gowns and Benny Blanco rocking a classic black tuxedo
and bow tie.

Speaker 2 (03:28):
I feel like this was really under the radar. There
wasn't a lot of like build up to the day.
They were pretty sneaky about it. Hard to pull off
these days. Yeah, good for them.

Speaker 1 (03:37):
More Mario Lopez coming up.

Speaker 2 (03:40):
Mario Courtney Lopez here keeping the music coming your way,
as Courtney tries to make us think with a random thought,
what you got, honey.

Speaker 3 (03:46):
You know, the funniest people, you know don't tell jokes.
They just be talking. Yep, like me, I just opened
my mouth.

Speaker 4 (03:53):
Me too.

Speaker 2 (03:53):
There's some people that are just funny because the way
they talk and the way they look, and it's a combo,
not none. It's not necessarily the content. They just be funny, right,
all right, let's get back to the music. I like
those people, all right. It's still so much to get
to you're on, Mario Courtney Lopez got some September thirtieth
birthdays to celebrate. Letter this hour, we're going to squeeze
in a music history lesson as well, and just a

(04:15):
few songs away from a quick stop to Quartos Corner
for something fresh? Any handshigning?

Speaker 3 (04:20):
What do you do if you encounter a coyote?

Speaker 2 (04:22):
Ooh, that's good stuff. All right, back with Courtney's Corner
in ten don't move, oh, Mario Courtney Lopez, make it
a stop into Courtney's Corner for something fresh. And as
you just told us, you've got coyote tips.

Speaker 3 (04:35):
Yes, besides just hating them, and I know they were
here before us, but we have pets, and I get
so scared for our pets.

Speaker 2 (04:43):
Well, a lot of people, unfortunately, have had their pets
taken and killed by these coyotes. So this is probably
really good tips.

Speaker 3 (04:50):
Well, this is if you have coyotes in your area.
I never grew up with them on the East Coast,
so when I came here and saw one for the
first time, I thought it was a starving dog because
that's what it looked like. Yeah, I thought I started
feeding it. Anyway, here are the dewes, maintain eye contact,
use loud noises, whistle music, pots and pans.

Speaker 5 (05:13):
I don't know if you're start singing.

Speaker 3 (05:15):
Yeah, you're walking, just randomly carrying a pot and a pan.
Spray water, Toss sticks or rocks near the coyote. That's
easy to get if you're outside. Shake a can filled
with pennies or pebbles if you're every time you go outside,
just take a can pebbles. Obviously, the first thing you
also do is pick up your pet, protect children and

(05:36):
keep them close and calm.

Speaker 2 (05:38):
Here's what you don't do.

Speaker 3 (05:40):
You don't run. It triggers the chase instinct in the coyote.
And you also don't approach or corner the coyote. And
if they have their cubs nearby, that's also you know, yes,
you don't want to be in that because you might
be coyote dinner.

Speaker 2 (05:58):
So make yourself big, make a lot of.

Speaker 1 (06:01):
More.

Speaker 2 (06:01):
Mario Lopez coming up a Mario Courtney Lopez. Time to
celebrate some Tuesday birthdays. As always, Fraser's gonna shout out
the celebs turning a year older. We're gonna try to
guess the ages.

Speaker 4 (06:10):
I feel like I should use some sort of synthesizer
from my voice.

Speaker 2 (06:14):
But Tea Pain forty four, forty two forty Oh wow,
he's got that mature voice. I thought it was older
Tea Pain.

Speaker 5 (06:22):
He's younger than me. Huh.

Speaker 4 (06:24):
Kieren Coulkin from Iggyby goes down a whole bunch of
shows and stuff he's won. He's Mario's drinking buddy at
award shows.

Speaker 5 (06:30):
Now, that's right.

Speaker 2 (06:32):
Kieren is forty forty.

Speaker 4 (06:36):
Two, forty three, and somehow he's now the more relevant
Coulkin case.

Speaker 5 (06:41):
Jenna Elfman from Darman and Greg.

Speaker 3 (06:43):

your way as we get ready for another look at
the Hollywood Buzz later this hour to see what's trending.

Speaker 3 (08:24):
Plus, I gotta tell you about our epic weekend and
the big Casta Lopez milestone we were celebrating. But first,
more music.

Speaker 2 (08:32):
You're all Mario Courtney Lopez and I know it's already Tuesday,
but I feel like I'm still recovering from our daughter
gias Kin Signetta.

Speaker 5 (08:38):
I can't tell about your voice.

Speaker 2 (08:39):
I was going to say, you probably tell my mind.
We are still recovering Godfather Barry White voice going on
right here. But what an awesome evening and incredible milestone
for those who may not be familiar. At Kensignetta s
where of a coming of age party in the Mexican
culture where a little girl is now considered a young
woman by turning fifteen. And we did the whole thing.

(09:03):
It's basically a wedding without a groom, with the mariachi's
and the cord and and there was performances and uh,
we had almost three hundred people there and it was
just a beautiful Then you did a great, great job
putting it together, honey. And you looked amazing too, Yes
you did, honey.

Speaker 5 (09:20):
I was talking to Mario.

Speaker 2 (09:21):
Yes, thank you. I knew what you meant. I know
what you meant, but it was it was really really
Speco looked great.

Speaker 3 (09:27):
As well, great, amazing, I love great.

Speaker 2 (09:30):
We'll be putting up all the photos and some videos
this week. What was so funny to me with the
deep speeches they on the thing.

Speaker 5 (09:38):
That was Mario and I were actually dying.

Speaker 4 (09:41):
I was standing next to him and when they started
giving some of these speeches and they were like, you've
been there through so much with me, through all the
hard times.

Speaker 2 (09:47):
I'm like, you're twelve or something and you live in
you live in you know, pretty decent neighbor.

Speaker 4 (09:53):
You shouldn't have I think her cousin revealed they snuck
out of a hotel somewhere in Mexico wants to Mario
was like, what what's.

Speaker 2 (09:58):
Going on exactly with some craziness.

Speaker 3 (10:01):
And I think her cousin my niece, also revealed that
she is going to live with us forever.

Speaker 2 (10:06):
Yeah, pretty much. We have another child that she revealed
that exactly.

Speaker 1 (10:12):
More Mario Lopez on the way.

Speaker 2 (10:14):
Wile Courtney Lopez here. And now that we're into fall,
new survey revealing the things we like most about the season.

Speaker 3 (10:20):
Summer maybe gone, but for many of us, fall is
our favorite season. It's mine of course. A survey reveals
a twenty eight percent say they turn into a cozy
comfort seeker. Yes, as soon as autumn arrives. Fall makes
us feel nostalgic and more reflective or thoughtful. Interesting. Yes,
that's true. We love snuggling under a blanket, drinking hot
chocolate and going for a walk with the crunchy leaves

(10:41):
under our feet.

Speaker 1 (10:42):
Yes.

Speaker 3 (10:42):
Oh, and it's also about those fall beverages. Half of
us say we're likely to try a new hot fall
beverage as soon as it comes out. I love the
fall out.

Speaker 2 (10:51):
Here in southern California, we really don't get to experience
fall till maybe December.

Speaker 5 (10:57):
Maybe it's in the eighties right now.

Speaker 2 (10:59):
Yeah, yeah, pretty summertime right there. But we still love it.
All right, let us know what you love most about
fall hat on with Mario on Facebook or x A
Mario and Courtney Lopez, more music and a sec But first,
we got some new dictionary words, in fact, five thousand
new words. You heard me, right, I don't even know
if I know five thousand words just in general. Merriam
Webster is adding five thousand new words to its collegiate dictionary,

(11:22):
including doom, scroll, dumb phone, and w f H. It's
not really a word, more of an acronym.

Speaker 3 (11:31):
But what does that mean?

Speaker 2 (11:32):
Work from work from home?

Speaker 1 (11:34):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (11:34):
God?

Speaker 5 (11:35):
It Fifth harmony is saying about it.

Speaker 2 (11:36):
You've got to work work, work, work from home. W
f h W.

Speaker 1 (11:44):
Well.

Speaker 3 (11:44):
The publisher announced this week it was revising and reimagining
its twelfth edition, Well twenty two years later after its
last update. Other editions include Cold Brew, Riz Dad, Bod
Hard Pass, and Cancel Culture Really Okay.

Speaker 2 (12:01):
Well, in case people want to know what it means,
now you can actually look it up. Another look at
the buzz coming up. But first got to get back
to the music. You're almar and Courtney Lopez digging into
the buzz because we officially have a Super Bowl halftime
performer on.

Speaker 1 (12:14):
With Mario Hollywood Bus.

Speaker 2 (12:17):
So congrats to Beneath Though aka Bad Bunny, who was
set to headline the twenty twenty sixth Super Bowl halftime show.
He says the show will be for those who came
before him and ran countless yards so he could come
in and score a touchdown. Bad Bunnies considered one of
the best Latin rappers of all time. It's also starred
in multiple films and wrestled in WWE events. Super Bowl
sixty is going to take place February eighth at Levi

(12:39):
Stadium in Santa Clara, California, home of the San Francisco
forty nine ers. They initially offered it to Taylor Swift,
but she wanted the rights to her performance. And I
gotta imagine so.

Speaker 3 (12:51):
That is they did it?

Speaker 2 (12:52):
Did they did? But I gotta imagine they said no
only because they can't set that precedence. And here's the thing.
Usually they say, because you don't get paid, it's more
of an honor.

Speaker 5 (13:01):
You get promotion, You.

Speaker 2 (13:02):
Get promotion, they say the exposure. Well, she doesn't really
need promotion or exposure, but I guess she's at that
point where she just wants to be able to control everything.
So they and I respect, they didn't want to say
and they didn't want to grant her that again to
set the precedents. I actually thought it was if it
wasn't gonna be her, I thought it was going to
be post Ma Malone. But bad buddies should put on
a good show too, so maybe posts will be next year.

Speaker 1 (13:21):
More Mario Lopez coming up.

Speaker 2 (13:24):
You're all more on Courtney Lopez taking a sex to
a Congrats to our five thousand dollars winners in Iheart's Think.
A teacher powered by donors choose by the.

Speaker 3 (13:31):
Way, there's still time for you to nominate a public
school teacher making a difference and maybe they'll be one
of our next winners to win five grand to make
over their classroom. So how does they thank you to
the educator shaping our future? Nominate your favorite teacher now

and He's Dancing with the Stars partner Jenna Johnson, Terry
Hatcher On with Mario dot Com for all that and more.

Speaker 2 (14:19):
Almar and Corney Lopez. And if you use subtitles and
watching TV and movies at home, you're not alone. According
to new survey, subtitles are basically becoming a lifestyle choice now.
And here's the craziest part, especially for younger viewers.

Speaker 3 (14:33):
Okay, this doesn't make me feel bad. A new poll
shows nearly forty percent of adults under forty five are
watching with subtitles on, compared to fewer older adults. And
for gen Z and millennials, it's not about missing the dialogue.
It's about multitasking. They're half watching, half scrolling, maybe cooking, cleaning,
cuddling the pets, you name it. Subtitles let them bounce

(14:54):
in and out without missing the plot. But how are
they multitasking because you still have short rev the TV
to read the subtitle. So that doesn't make sense to.

Speaker 2 (15:03):
Me, all millennials. I'll tell you what. When we started
our new show last night, Black Rabbert, I was that
close to almost putting the subtitles on, but I stopped
myself just because you didn't want to go there. I
didn't want to go there. I'm trying to I love you,
no matter what I know. No, I didn't want to
go there. It's so far, so good.

Speaker 4 (15:20):
You would have recommended to me Mobland a while back,
and I started watching that, and I watched I had
to watch the first one with subtitles.

Speaker 2 (15:26):
Well that's different because they had rights.

Speaker 4 (15:28):
They have really thick accents different, but then I forgot to.

Speaker 5 (15:31):
Put it on for the others and I didn't need it.

Speaker 2 (15:33):
M ooh, okay, okay.

Speaker 1 (15:36):
Poor Mario Lopez.

Speaker 2 (15:38):
You're on Mario and Courtney Lopez. Keep it the music
going as we make a quick digital pit stop and
on Mario dot Com, so Kordo can tell us what's
trending home.

Speaker 3 (15:45):
Donna was opening up about how her spiritual life kept
her sane.

Speaker 2 (15:49):
Yeah, she got together with Jay Shetty and got spiritual
check out.

Speaker 3 (15:53):
Cardi b deliver an energetic set at this weekend's Global
Citizen Festival while pregnant, Yes, and everything we know about
Selena Gomez's wedding to Benny Blanco, including which celebs gave speeches,
all that more at Mamathmarrio dot Com.

Speaker 2 (16:10):
Mario Lopez here, getting close to the end of our
radio fund. Just one last thing to get to, plus
probably enough time to play a request or two before
I get out of here. So if you got a
song you want to hear, hit me up at all
on Mario on x AL Mario, Courtney Lopez. Almost time
to head out. But now before we get to one
last thing, the rock is set to make a live
action Teddy Ruxman movie. He's going to produce the movie,

(16:32):
which is set for release by Amazon MGM Studios with
a tonal pitch of Sonic the Hedgehog meets Elf interesting
log line. There. Details are under rap, so the film
is expected to be a family friendly adventure featuring Teddy,
his best friend Grubby, and an inventor named Newton Gimmick
as they go on a quest from their home in
the land of Rionia. Now, I thought my boy Walbert already.

Speaker 5 (16:55):
Did this movie and it was called ted Well that
wasn't Teddy rock Spin.

Speaker 2 (16:58):
But it was basically about a talking bear.

Speaker 4 (17:00):
Yeah, but that bear was filthy and yeah, that was
a naughty bear family. Yeah, Teddy Rutsman like told stories
to Ky like he was the storyteller and stuff you
put it. You put a corset tape in the back,
and sometimes my brother would put his Ozzy Osbourne or
Black Sabbath tapes in the back.

Speaker 5 (17:16):
That was weird.

Speaker 2 (17:17):
So this is more family friendly. Okay, got it? The
PG version of ten.

Speaker 1 (17:20):
We'll be right back with Mario Lopez.

Speaker 2 (17:23):
All right, that's it. Thanks for hanging with us as always,
all on Mario dot com. Toor relive any and all
our radio fun. We'll be back to do it again tomorrow.

night

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
