Speaker 1 (00:00):
On with Mario Lopez.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Here we go Finally Friday, Mario Lopez all fired up
to be back behind the mic a few fun hours
of radio plan after Sam Yeger joining us later to
talk sixth and final season of The Handmaid's Stale, plus
latest buzz, another passion, fake debate, and just a few
songs away from breaking down ed Shearon's latest single, and
your Mario Music Minute.

Speaker 3 (00:23):
So turn it up.

Speaker 2 (00:24):
You're on with Mario and Courtney Lopez. Mario Lopez no
secret that ideas get stolen in Hollywood all the time,
but apparently some of our favorite shows might be blatant
ripoffs of other shows and we just didn't know. Frazer,
what are something?

Speaker 4 (00:38):
Yeah? So I found this list Creek. They say basically
is a knockoff of Arrested Development because it's a wealthy
family who lost all their money and they're trying to
fight their way back to the top.

Speaker 2 (00:49):
I've heard a theory that there's only really seven original
ideas and everything is a derivative from one of those
seven original ideas.

Speaker 4 (00:59):
Haven't dug into that theory, but I don't doubt that theory.
It seems about right. The Jetson's basically a futuristic ripoff
of the Flintstones.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
That's exactly what it is, but but not really rip
off because one went backwards, one went forward, right, That's
not if you were to do a new show called
the the Crudes. Yeah, if you do a show called
The Cruise flint Stone, which is the Flintstones and put
it as a series, then yes, that's a direct rip off.

Speaker 4 (01:24):
Jabber Jaw was a ripoff of Scooby Doo and it
was a shark and his friends solving mysteries.

Speaker 2 (01:31):
The shark is okay, they went underwater with it.

Speaker 4 (01:33):
Friends was a ripoff of Living Single.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
Yes, that that has been discussed tirelessly.

Speaker 4 (01:38):
I Dream of Genie. What do you think that was
a ripoff off Bewitched?

Speaker 2 (01:42):
Yes, Bewitched because they read yes, I was thinking, oh,
took me.

Speaker 4 (01:45):
A minute, step by step essentially, the Brady Bunch correct
Another theory, by the way, to go back to the
Flintstones and the Jetsons, there's a theory they existed at
the same time, and that the Flintstones were in the
the reboot of Earth after it had been destroyed, and
the Jetsons were living in the sky above, which is
how they met in that one crossover movie.

Speaker 3 (02:03):
That that's too deep for me.

Speaker 4 (02:05):
And finally, family Guy. People are saying that is a
blatant rip off of the Simpsons.

Speaker 2 (02:10):
Well look, other than animation, I think there are some
pretty starry differences family dynamic.

Speaker 4 (02:15):
There's a dog, the other sister baby Right, Like I.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
Said, there's only seven original ideas more Mario Lopez coming.

Speaker 3 (02:22):
Up, Mario Courtney Lopez, was some quick buzz for you.

Speaker 2 (02:26):
Season two of Wednesday has added some major star power
of the cast. Steve Buchmy word is he is Jenn
Ortiga's new principle.

Speaker 3 (02:35):
We just saw him on an episode of kurbyr Enthusias.

Speaker 5 (02:37):
Yes we did when season one debuted in twenty twenty two.
It's smashed streaming record, so good for Steve BUSHEMI shemmy.

Speaker 3 (02:48):
You all.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
Mario Courtney Lopez reminding you of the best way to
never miss any of our radio fun is to download
our free iHeartRadio app listening to the show, which is
now streaming twenty four seven, along with a bunch of
your favorite music on our new on with Mark Lopes station. Yes,
just search on Mariy Lopez for that music. Rolls on
or Cordy Lopez, you're quickly squeezing in a random question

(03:10):
which you got.

Speaker 5 (03:11):
Honey, would you rather be granted one wish now or
three wishes in ten years?

Speaker 2 (03:17):
That is a fascinating question.

Speaker 1 (03:20):
Really good.

Speaker 2 (03:22):
I'm going one wish now. Really, I'm always burd in hand.
You never know what the future may hold, that's true,
And who knows if even God forbid not to be
a bummer going to be around in ten years, Because I.

Speaker 5 (03:33):
Would say three wishes in ten years, because there's really
nothing I would change. I mean, obviously I want to
see people that are no longer here and that kind
of stuff, But I don't know. I would kind of
save it.

Speaker 2 (03:44):
You would save it.

Speaker 3 (03:45):
I would save it.

Speaker 2 (03:46):
I would, Well, there's something, I mean, I feel fortunate.
There's nothing we necessarily have to have or need, but
there's I think, you know, maybe one thing that can
kind of because the one thing can compliment things ten
years down the road.

Speaker 5 (03:57):
Actually, I know what I would do right now.

Speaker 2 (03:59):
Oh, Okay, that's enough. That sounds like an off the
air request.

Speaker 5 (04:03):
No, I'll say it right here. Just have you stop
calling me Cordo.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
Okay, Cardo, that's funny, all Mario Lopez gonna play a
few more songs and then fire up zoom so we
can chat with actress Sam Jeger. Sam is part of
The Handmaid's Tale over on Hulu's sixth and final season.

Speaker 3 (04:23):
Just kicked off.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
Back to talk about that and more with Sam.

Speaker 4 (04:25):
Next, that's off.

Speaker 3 (04:28):
You're on Mario Lopez jointing me right now.

Speaker 2 (04:30):
One of the stars of the Emmy winning show The
Handmaid's Tale on Hulu, actress Sam Yeager.

Speaker 3 (04:35):
How you doing, Sam good Man?

Speaker 6 (04:37):
Good to do with your thanks, well.

Speaker 2 (04:38):
Thanks for taking the time, and we are in the
sixth and final season of the show, which just premiered
on Hulu. Man, I remember the first season, y'all took
nice little long hiatuses in between these these a slow show.

Speaker 6 (04:52):
In fact, coming from a different show, I hopped on
this and I was kind of sterled at how slow
the whole process is. You know, shoot like four four
pages a day, and I was used to just being like, hey,
let's bang these scenes out. Yeah, But I think there's
a reason for it. You know, people like you know,
there's a lot of thought put into what it looks
like to how even the images you know, helped to

(05:14):
show how confined and restricted. A lot of the characters are.
So there is a method to the incredibly slow, methodical madness.

Speaker 2 (05:23):
We got to wait for quality, I imagine. All right,
Sam hank Tag, I'm going to take a quick break
and come back with some more Sam Yeger.

Speaker 1 (05:28):
More fun on the Way On with Mario Lopez.

Speaker 2 (05:32):
All Mario Lopez getting the scoop on the sixth and
final season of The Handmaid's Tail from actors Sam Yeger. So, Sam,
where's this new season pick up and what's your character
up to?

Speaker 6 (05:42):
You know, Handmaid's Tale is about Gilead taking over most
of North America and at this point there's only two
states in the United States left, Hawaii and Alaska, and
even the Canadians at the start of this season they
don't want Americans in their country anymore, pushing them out,
and you know, we get to see kind of all

(06:04):
these characters who have been losing the battle just kind
of fight back in whatever way they can, and desperate
times call for desperate measures, and it's a It's pretty
cool because you know, a lot of a lot of
shows like this, they get to the end of the series,
and there are shows that are famous. I'm not going
to mention what they are, but there are a couple

(06:24):
of shows famous for not sticking the landing. Yeah, you know,
we're leaving audiences hanging lost, and I'm glad to see yes,
maybe possibly.

Speaker 2 (06:34):
Game of Thrones.

Speaker 6 (06:35):
Maybe Game of Thrones, you know, and there we certainly
didn't want that. So we wanted to make sure we
ended this series on a high and thankfully the scripts
were amazing and I have a feeling the end it's
gonna be really satisfying for people watching.

Speaker 2 (06:48):
Nice all right, Well, new episodes of The Handmaid's Tale
are streaming now on Hulu. Sam Haig type, few more
songs and we're gonna have more with Sam Dieger getting
back to actress Sam Jeger from The Handmaid's Tale.

Speaker 3 (07:01):
What a mar Lopez here?

Speaker 2 (07:02):
Sam? Obviously with me in the final season.

Speaker 3 (07:05):
It's always tough to say.

Speaker 2 (07:07):
Goodbye after after a long run like this. What was
the final day on setlite?

Speaker 6 (07:12):
Cold? So cold? I mean we've shot this show in
Toronto in the dead of winter for seasons, and so
we wrapped at two in the morning in you know,
like perfect Candmaid's Tale, Like we're on some like dirt
road in the middle of a forest, with these crew
that are freezing their butts off, and so the goodbye

(07:33):
was brief and yeah, but I just said, you know,
I love you guys. I love working with you, and
I hope I get to do it again, because it's
rare to work on the show that you feel proud of,
and then you get to work with people who we're
all in line. They're trying to tell the best story
and get their egos out of the way.

Speaker 2 (07:51):
I know exactly what you mean, Sam, regarding cold and
saying goodbye. I was just in Buffalo for about a
month is not too far from trying to soak. Yeah,
exactly why those exterior shots man, And I's just the
noses running. I can't even I'm not better. Just it
was a hot mess or cold painful. It's exactly what
it is.

Speaker 4 (08:09):
It is painful.

Speaker 2 (08:11):
That cold is next level, all right, man, hang on,
little more music, then we're gonna come back with some
more Sam yeg you're all Mario Lopez got actress Sam
Dieger from The Handmaid stale on Zoom with us this hour.
And you also just had a movie come out, Wolfman,
a reboot of the iconic Universal film back in the
day for people who don't know the story. I've always

(08:31):
loved Wolfman stories. Here, what's what's the premise of this film.

Speaker 6 (08:36):
The premise of this film is this, you know, this
story of a guy who comes back to the farm.
He grew up on. His father was you know, ex
military and really you know, hard on him and trying
to teach him to survive on his own because he
knew that there was something out in the woods there
that was you know, that could kill you easily. And

(08:57):
so his son returns to the land to try and
you know, uh see what it's like and immediately realizes
that he's that whatever was out there is is still
out there. And we got to shoot it in New Zealand,
which was epic. Who was stunning and uh, you know
it was it was a beautiful shoot to do. I mean,

(09:19):
I don't know if you've ever been in New Zealand,
but I highly recommend.

Speaker 1 (09:22):
No.

Speaker 2 (09:22):
I heard it's incredible. Oh that's nice during during the
summertime or winter.

Speaker 6 (09:25):
Time or it was a spring so it was there.

Speaker 2 (09:28):
Oh nice fall, early fall.

Speaker 6 (09:30):
Yeah, it looks amazing. Yeah, a lot of the Lord
of the Rings locations ru.

Speaker 3 (09:36):
Yeah, it was epic, very cool.

Speaker 2 (09:38):
All right, Sam, one more thing I want to ask,
So hang tight, quick break, We're gonna come back and
rap it up with Sam Yeger.

Speaker 1 (09:44):
You're the full interview now on with Mario dot Com.
More Mario Lopez on.

Speaker 2 (09:48):
The way wrapping up with actress Sam Dieger, who's been
hanging out with us all our Mario Lopez here and uh,
you also got three kids, right.

Speaker 6 (09:56):
I got three boys and my stepdaughter. Oh wow, it's packed.

Speaker 3 (10:01):
Yeah good. Oh that must be uh, that must be uh.

Speaker 2 (10:04):
That house must be a mess.

Speaker 6 (10:07):
Absolutely a mess. This is the only televisable portion of
the whole house. I found this tiny little corner I
could shove myself into.

Speaker 3 (10:15):
I got three myself.

Speaker 6 (10:17):
The rest of it, it's legos and baseball and baseball
bats all over the house.

Speaker 3 (10:22):
Yeah. Oh they're little guys. Then they're young.

Speaker 6 (10:25):
Well they're eight, ten and fifteen, okay, yeah fine. And
my step yeah so, and my stepdaughter is thirty. So
thankfully she can get dressed in the morning and get
herself to work on her own and she doesn't need
me for that.

Speaker 3 (10:39):
Yeah that's cool, man, that's cool.

Speaker 2 (10:41):
Well, listen, congrats on everything, and everyone be sure to
stream the sixth and final season of The Handmaid's Tale.

Speaker 3 (10:47):
Sam, thanks for checking in, Mario Man, great to see you,
you too so much.

Speaker 7 (10:51):
Take care. Amar Courtney Lopez and I saw this and
thought it was cool.

Speaker 2 (11:09):
Uber stepping up this prom season by offering teens two
free rides up to twenty dollars each to get to
and from their big nights safely. Teens ages thirteen to
seventeen with an Uber teen account can book rides now
and even reserve a larger Uber xl for groups of
up to six people plus. After dancing the night away,
they can snag twenty dollars off of post prom Uber

(11:30):
Eats snack order.

Speaker 3 (11:31):
This is awesome. Yeah incentive.

Speaker 2 (11:34):
Parents, I'm sure are really excited. I mean, listen, teens
aren't supposed to be drinking at those ages anyway, but
you know, kids will be kids. It's better to err
on the side of safety and parents don't have to
be show from around.

Speaker 3 (11:47):
So I like this. I'mamar Courtney Lopez. Echin closer and
closer to summer, which means.

Speaker 2 (11:54):
Vacations if you're lucky enough to get them, and if
you're flying there are apparently rules of etiquette are Reddit
recently ask users to share the rules all passengers should
know in nearly three thousand have come in so far,
Like what.

Speaker 5 (12:07):
Honey, Well, most of them are common sense, but we
know people don't have common sense. Some of the most
named ones include, don't put your feet up on the
arm rest of the person in front of you. It's
not your seat.

Speaker 2 (12:21):
Correct and listen if you're behind someone, and maybe the
back portion of it. But you can't go full extension
into the arm rest.

Speaker 4 (12:30):
If you find yourself putting an arm or a foot
through the seats in front of you can't go through.
You are doing it wrong, exactly.

Speaker 5 (12:37):
Keep your shoes on.

Speaker 2 (12:38):
Lopez, Well, I've been putting them on now when I
use the restroom, I've been putting them on.

Speaker 5 (12:44):
So yes, I take my shoes off on long flights
when I go to sleep, but I have socks on
right now.

Speaker 6 (12:52):
I don't.

Speaker 5 (12:52):
I'm not barefoot. Absolutely obviously, be kind to the flight
attendants and listen to the instructions.

Speaker 2 (12:59):
Yeah, come on, you can't, there's no there's never any
reason to be rude.

Speaker 5 (13:02):
And don't clip your toenails or fingernails.

Speaker 2 (13:07):
Come on that just you gotta throw them off the
plane at that point.

Speaker 4 (13:10):
If you're doing that, You're doing it wrong.

Speaker 5 (13:12):
I've seen that on the subway.

Speaker 4 (13:14):
That makes more sense to me.

Speaker 1 (13:17):
More Mario Lopez coming up Tebro.

Speaker 2 (13:21):
Mario Lopez got a special guest in studio today, my
boy Dominic Luciano Lopez's got in the studio.

Speaker 3 (13:27):
Hey, what's going on, Nico?

Speaker 2 (13:28):
How are you today?

Speaker 4 (13:29):
I'm good? How are you?

Speaker 3 (13:30):
I'm well.

Speaker 2 (13:31):
I wanted to say congratulations and break the news right
here at on with Mario that you landed your very
first movie role, all on your own, you audition and
got the part of Shadow in the movie Bad Counselors,
which is based on a true story where these guys
are in college. They get into some trouble and they

(13:53):
have to do community service and they choose to do
it at this camp for kids. And he's one of
the kids.

Speaker 4 (13:58):
You're gonna say in college. I'm like, how was that possible?

Speaker 3 (14:00):
He's a genius.

Speaker 2 (14:01):
No, so he's one of the kids that can't. And
Nico is playing this is kind of a dark character.
He's not supposed to cut his hair. How do you
feel about the director said, did not kle was gonna
get your hair cut today as a matter of fact,
But to not cut your hair, and we got about
another month ago before we start filming. You're gonna be
all waked out.

Speaker 8 (14:18):
Do you like that? Yeah, I'm very excited. I remember
my first movie it was with you, so of course
I had to cut my hair before and it was
kind of short, and it didn't look.

Speaker 2 (14:27):
The best either, but I thought it looked good.

Speaker 8 (14:29):
I'm very excited that I get to grow out my
hair and I hope it will look very good for
the movie.

Speaker 2 (14:33):
I think it's gonna look really good. It's gonna be long,
and you're gonna be with a bunch of other kids,
and you're going to North Carolina. How do you feel
about that?

Speaker 1 (14:39):
I'm super excited.

Speaker 8 (14:40):
I mean, it's a long ways away, but it's gonna
be a long played flight. But I got my iPad,
I got I downloaded Disney movies.

Speaker 4 (14:48):
You're already downloaded. You're leaving in a month.

Speaker 2 (14:50):
Yeah, yeah, he's prepared ready.

Speaker 4 (14:52):
I like it.

Speaker 3 (14:52):
He's ready to go.

Speaker 2 (14:53):
And then cut too. You're gonna be doing another holiday movie,
I think about a month later that one.

Speaker 1 (14:57):
Though.

Speaker 2 (14:58):
It's great because you're gonna have two different looks, one
with the law wig and your wig is gonna be short.
And all buttoned up.

Speaker 8 (15:02):
Every movie I do with you, it's always gonna be short.

Speaker 3 (15:06):
What are you a rocker? You gotta have it a
little buttoned up.

Speaker 4 (15:09):
It's his it's his Christmas movie. Yeah, you got follow
his hair roles.

Speaker 3 (15:13):
I'm actually not in that movie.

Speaker 2 (15:14):
That one. You're just gonna be on your own right there.
But I gotta keep you clean cut. In Summer Book, Congratulations,
You're welcome.

Speaker 1 (15:22):
More Mario Lopez on the way, Hey.

Speaker 3 (15:24):
You're all Mario Lopez.

Speaker 2 (15:25):
My son Dominic hanging out because he's on spring break
and Nico quickly tell him about the flow Pez Show.

Speaker 8 (15:30):
So the flow Pretz Show is basically where me and
my coach Donnie, we go on these fun little adventures
to go to camps and practices and like we just
like break down on what we learned, and like we

super fun. We actually we haven't posted in a while,
but we have three episodes.

Speaker 3 (15:48):
I mean that.

Speaker 8 (15:49):
Donnie is editing and uh, they're gonna come out soon,
so please like and subscribe. It's called the flow Pez
Show on YouTube.

Speaker 2 (15:57):
Flow Pez Show on YouTube. F l O p E
got it. I in the home stretch, final hour for
us Mario and Courtney Lopez. Here is steal so much
to get to gonna honor our comment of the week
in about thirty five minutes or so.

Speaker 5 (16:12):
Plus the fake debate is just a few songs away
as well, and maybe we'll try to squeeze into a
couple of requests from you. So if you got a
song you want to hear, just slide into our DMS
over on Instagram add on with Mario Lopez.

Speaker 3 (16:24):
John Mario, Courtney Lopez.

Speaker 2 (16:26):
Time not for a fake debate where the topics are
made upon the spot, but the passion is very real.

Speaker 3 (16:30):
Who's pro and who's con?

Speaker 1 (16:31):
Today?

Speaker 4 (16:32):
What do you want to be? Courtney con?

Speaker 5 (16:34):
I think that was pro? Last time?

Speaker 4 (16:35):
You will be con. Mario will be pro. You'll have
fifteen seconds make your case, ten second rebuttal. Your topic
today is singing along to songs in public without actually
knowing the lyrics. Just like this, get.

Speaker 5 (16:51):
What is that?

Speaker 1 (16:53):
Me?

Speaker 7 (16:53):
Yes?

Speaker 6 (16:53):
Oh my God?

Speaker 2 (16:55):
Singing along in public without knowing the lyrics to the song?
I am pro. Here's the thing about music, It's all subjective.
It's artistic. If you want to change the lyrics up
and it inspires you to create your own lyrics. That
was the intention of the artist. That means it's a hit.
Congrats recordy.

Speaker 5 (17:15):
Nothing is more embarrassing than parents of a teenager who
think they know the lyrics to a song but don't.
And the last thing I want to do is embarrass
my daughter and have her disown me.

Speaker 4 (17:28):
I don't believe the last thing you want to do
is embarrass your daughter, mister Lopez.

Speaker 2 (17:32):
The thing about lyrics is these songs, if it motivates
you to make the lyrics your own, yourself are now
an artist. You are creating the music, and that's what
it's all about. Inspiring people. Thank you.

Speaker 5 (17:47):
You know the game. Finish the lyrics. You need to
finish the lyrics and not make up your own. They
will not give you any props.

Speaker 2 (17:54):
Oh we're not paying that.

Speaker 1 (17:55):
Game one week more fun on the way on with
Mario Lopez.

Speaker 2 (18:00):
Tomorow Courtney Lopez here keeping the music coming at you

Speaker 3 (18:09):
Not sweety because I call everybody else.

Speaker 2 (18:11):
We just made a new role anyway, what's trending?

Speaker 3 (18:13):
Kid?

Speaker 5 (18:13):
Billie Eilish crushed a haunting cover of a Radiohead song
in Amsterdam. You can watch the video of that.

Speaker 2 (18:20):
Anything she does is haunting, It's always haunted.

Speaker 5 (18:23):
That's just like her vibe. Yes, you can find out
why Timothy Eshallameh didn't join girlfriend Kylie Jenner at the
met gala. Okay, dining Now on with Mario dot com

Speaker 5 (18:59):
First today, this is from Martin Flem No film at
Martin Film.

Speaker 2 (19:04):
I like Flen better.

Speaker 5 (19:07):
I have Flem right now.

Speaker 4 (19:09):
If you told me.

Speaker 5 (19:09):
Netflix was making a seven part series where each episode
tells a story of one of the women from Mambo
number five. I wouldn't just believe you. I'd set a
reminder of that. That's where I am in life, a little.

Speaker 3 (19:23):
Bit of Monica in my life. Monica gets a whole episode.
Monica gets a whole episode. And that's very clever.

Speaker 2 (19:30):
Martin Film or flem whatever your name is, and you're
taking a page out of the Beatles. Sam Mendez acclaimed
director is doing something I've never heard before. He is
shooting four movies, each one focusing on an individual member
of the Beatles.

Speaker 4 (19:46):
Yeah, they're all biopics.

Speaker 2 (19:48):
Isn't that wild? And anyone deserves it.

Speaker 3 (19:50):
It's the Beatles and they're.

Speaker 4 (19:51):
All coming out the same time, right, Yes, Yeah, that's interesting,
