Speaker 2 (00:35):
Kelly Clarkson reportedly considering leading her daytime talk show next
year to spend.

Speaker 3 (00:40):
More time with their children.

Speaker 2 (00:41):
Despite the show being wildly popular, Kelly reportedly wants to
step down once her contract expires this year. She's hosted
the show for six years, but people are saying that
the singer wants to focus on her ten year old
daughter and eight year old son and is planning to
spend a lot more time in the South.

Speaker 3 (00:58):
Yeah, you know, I love Kellyson.

Speaker 2 (01:01):
We all love Kelly, and the show is a lot
of fun, and she is awesome about doing her Kelly
OK and really doing the song sometimes better than most
of the artists.

Speaker 5 (01:11):
Sometimes all the time.

Speaker 3 (01:13):
You're watch all the time.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
But it's a lot of work. Doing a daytime talk
show in and of itself is a lot of work.
I can't imagine doing a song every day on top
of that, so that's even more work. And when you
got your kids young like that, they're only young for
so long. And I know she's making a lot of money,
but she's made a lot of money, so you know,
I can't really falter. Curious to see what happens in

(01:35):

Yeah, I mean, for sure she will be missed, but
I don't think she will disappear. I think she'll still
do amazing things and maybe put out a new album.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
Absolutely, I don't think she's retiring at all. I think
just maybe the everyday duties. And at the moment it's
just a rumor, so we'll see what happens.

me to hear it every day. I have a castle.

Speaker 2 (02:17):

that five minute introduction, the person will come back to
me and say, Wow, didn't he has a castle.

Speaker 3 (02:26):
Of course, you can't lead with I have a castle
cast so why wouldn't you lead with it?

Speaker 2 (02:31):

that's all. But he's a good guy.

What are we learning today, Yes, I'm here to help
you well with summer around the corner, Cordo. We're talking sunburns.
These are ways to relieve a sunburn. Once you've already
got one, let's try and not get the sunburn. Let's
start there. But cold water. Sunburn is an inflammation of
the skin, and a quick cool shower it will help
reduce it. Some cold plunge, oatmeal bath. The oatmeal can

(04:31):
help you reduce irritation and help keep skin moist. And
you can kill two birds with one stone. You have breakfast,
I have breakfast and get clean alovera we know this one.
Put it in the fridge for extra cooling. Love that hydration.
Drink plenty of water. A sunburn can draw water from
the rest of your body to the skin surface.

Speaker 3 (04:50):
It just sucks it.

Speaker 4 (04:52):
Moisturizer, a nice lotion can reduce peeling. And then ibuprofen
if you're in a lot of pain, this can help somewhat.

Speaker 1 (06:41):
How are you?

Speaker 2 (06:42):
I'm well man, Thanks for taking the time. You were
just revealed as NeSSI on the latest season of The
Mass Singer and Robin think where that was actually able
to guess you?

Speaker 3 (06:50):
Huh? He pulled that one out.

Speaker 7 (06:54):
I shouldn't be surprised. For as good as singer as
he is, he would definitely be able to figure.

Speaker 3 (07:00):
That was good height. That means you got a distinct voice.
How'd you end up on the show? Were you a
fan before.

Speaker 7 (07:05):
My manager called and said, hey, what do you think
about being on The Mass Singer?

Speaker 3 (07:09):
I was like, absolutely, that sounds.

Speaker 7 (07:10):
Like an adventure.

Speaker 3 (07:12):
Yeah, And how hot was your suit? Cumbersome? How difficult
was it to sing? It was one.

Speaker 7 (07:18):
Hundred and forty seven thousand degrees on that suit.

Speaker 3 (07:23):
Gosh, so do you?

Speaker 7 (07:24):
But you know, I normally sing with a microphone and they,
you know, because they have a headset option, and I'd
never done that, so I was like, I, you probably
ought to just stick with the microphone.

Speaker 3 (07:35):
But it was it wasn't that bad. Once I had
the ice vest on, you know, once I was wearing I.

Speaker 7 (07:42):
Had a vest and I had ice packs in it,
and you know, in between takes they would have fans
blowing in there. It was fine.

Speaker 2 (07:49):
Good for you, man, what a true prior ed when
Hank Tight quick break, We're going to come back with
Edwin McCain.

Speaker 1 (07:54):
More fun on the way on with Mario Lopez.

You're on Mario Lopez, getting back to Edwin McCain was
on Zoom.

Speaker 3 (08:00):
Just revealed his nessy on the Mass Singer.

Speaker 2 (08:02):
And you also just released your eleventh studio album, Lucky
a couple months back, and you had a couple of
country starts produced this one.

Speaker 7 (08:09):
Huh yeah, So Lee Brice and Jared Neeman are good friends.
And you know, Lee's been after me for a while
to make a record, and I finally relented. And you know,
for as great a singer as Lee is, he's equally
good as a producer. He's a fantastic producer.

Speaker 2 (08:30):
Nice And you're also heading out on a big tour
later this summer with the Guys train. How do you
go by a narrow and down a setlist with CATALOGI.

Speaker 7 (08:39):
Guy, that's a good question, actually, and I'll I have
a pretty good idea of what I want to do,
and then we'll see if it works the first couple
of shows, and if it doesn't, we'll make some adjustments.
But you know, I usually start with a hit and
close with a hit, so you know, like I've got

(09:01):
two big radio songs, and so you know, it makes
it easier because I can open with one and close
with the other.

Speaker 3 (09:07):
Yeah, No, I like that strategy. Edwin Hank Tight a
few more songs and when to come back?

Speaker 2 (09:12):
Catching up with singer Edwind McCain in this hour what
a Mario Lopez here and Edwin we were just talking
about touring.

Speaker 3 (09:17):
In your live show, do you ever do covers? Yes?
What do you like to do.

Speaker 7 (09:22):
I have some obscure Seal covers that I do. Really,
I'm a big fan of seals. I played this one
song he does called Whirlpool and Future Love Paradise, and
we cover Teddy Pendergrass and.

Speaker 3 (09:38):
Our Hey, which Teddy p song? I love TKO Yeah,
just I love that song. That's great.

Speaker 7 (09:44):
Yeah. Yeah. He was one of the first concerts I
ever went to when I was a kid, and I
think I was like ten years old, is that right?
And Patty walked on the stage and women started screaming
so bad. I thought something gone wrong, Like I thought
like there was an emergency.

Speaker 3 (10:03):
And I got scared.

Speaker 7 (10:04):
And then the first bral went flying by and I
was like, oh no, everything's fine.

Speaker 3 (10:09):
That guy's got one of the coolest voices ever. That's funny.
All right, more with Edwin McKay coming up a first
more music. You're all Mario Lopez.

Speaker 2 (10:18):
Edwin mcame on zoom with us, and I know you're
also big into TikTok.

Speaker 3 (10:22):
You make some pretty cool videos with your daughters.

Speaker 7 (10:25):
I never even so.

Speaker 3 (10:27):
I was one of those gen expers.

Speaker 7 (10:28):
That refused to engage social media in any way. Yeah,
and so the people in our office would post tour
dates on there, and I never I just didn't. I
just didn't mess with it at all. And then the
pandemic hit and I was stuck in the house with
my kids, being the worst high school teacher in the
state of South Carolina. And we quickly migrated into TikTok

(10:53):
Land and I've never looked back. I love TikTok. I
love it for the for all the the different points
of view and all the like so many different people
like I would never have a chance to understand. You
know their perspective, and if you you approach it from
that standpoint, it's a really cool thing. I mean, I

(11:15):
know social media it can be kind of a marass sometimes,
but I really enjoy it for all the different people.

Speaker 2 (11:23):
I agree, and I like to take advantage of spending
the time with the kids and stuff.

Speaker 3 (11:27):
It's like documenting cool home videos. So I'm with you on.

Speaker 2 (11:29):
That, all right, Edwin hand Ty. One more thing I
want to ask. We're gonna say, quick break, come back

almost thirty years since your big hit I'll Be Really
Really put you on the map. Did you feel strongly
about that song when he first wrote it?

Speaker 3 (11:50):
You know it was gonna work. Well, it had to
because I was down to the wire.

Speaker 7 (11:55):
I was about to get dropped off the label and
the president, Jason Flamm called me and said, listen, whatever
you turn in next needs to be great.

Speaker 3 (12:05):
And I was like, I got this.

Speaker 7 (12:06):
One song I'm working on I feel pretty good about
and you know that was this one again, that song
swooped in and saved my career, saved my life really,
and I'd love to tell you that I knew, but
I didn't know. I mean, I felt like it was good.
We played it at a show and people responded to it.

(12:27):
But it's it's so hard to know, I mean, and
the timing it has to do.

Speaker 3 (12:31):
So much with time.

Speaker 7 (12:32):
Yeah, our business is kind of hitting hope.

a number one hit with this song. Lack of Prayer

was the first song by a major artist to be
used in a commercial before being released to radio stations.
With the Cola wars heating up, Pepsi and Coca Cola
were going back and forth. Remember well, Pepsi signed Madonna
a five million dollar endorsement deal which included a two
minute commercial that would debut like a prayer. It was
released the next day and became an instant hit.

Speaker 3 (20:29):
Another new Star Wars movie is in the works.

Speaker 2 (20:33):
I mean, talk about milking a franchise, but I'm here
for it. Is there anything like the new TV shows
on Disney Plus? This one is set to star Ryan
Gosling and he made the announcement a few days back
at a Star Wars convention in Tokyo. Film will be
called Star Wars Starfighter and it's a standalone film. It's
unconnected to the Skywalker saga would be taking place after

(20:56):
the last installment. Sean Levy, who had a huge hit
with Dead poonn Wolverine, is to direct and that the
script is so good with great original characters, but it's
gonna be a minute before we get to see it.
Star Wars Starfighter isn't gonna be in theaters until May
twenty twenty seven. Also announce Pedro Pascal in the Mandalorian
Engrogu movie.

Speaker 4 (21:17):
There are so many movies. I can't even keep them straight.
I have no idea who's connected to who. I have
no idea who betrayed who. It's just a plethora.

Speaker 3 (21:29):
Of what are those called lightsabers?

Speaker 5 (21:32):
Lightsabers.

Speaker 6 (21:32):
I also know there's too much dialogue in and Or
that reasoning came out for the second season. I want
to see that too, but I know you won't watch
it with me. I'm gonna have to watch it when
you're gone. Oh maybe I'll power through while your way.
That's what I can watch with.

Speaker 3 (21:44):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (21:45):
More Mario Lopez on the way.

Speaker 3 (21:48):
Mario Courtney Lopez.

Speaker 2 (21:49):
Yeah, quick reminder hit us someone ig ad ald Mario
Lopez and click follow to join the fan. By the way,
ig is launching a video creation app called edits, and
it allows users to shoot and edit video features like
background replacement and automatic captioning, and the features are apparently
similar to TikTok Systrap cap cut. We're gonna get to

(22:09):
the pot where we can shoot a full movie on
these apps.

Speaker 4 (22:12):
I am lucky. I can even open my phone.

Speaker 1 (22:16):
Right.

Speaker 3 (22:18):
Maryle Courtney Lopez, here was some quick buzz for you.

Speaker 2 (22:21):
Oscar voters are now going to be required to actually
watch movies they are voting for.

Speaker 3 (22:26):
What were they doing all this time not watching them
prior to that? That is ridiculous.

Speaker 5 (22:30):
How do you vote for something you don't watch?

Speaker 3 (22:32):
Exactly? The vote is voting for the actors they like.

Speaker 2 (22:34):
Academy members will now have to watch all the nominated
films before they vote, and we'll need to submit a
form showing where they saw the films. Well, you could
just lie to that. I think you need to take
a quiz or something to really get in there.

Speaker 5 (22:46):
That's like saying you have to go to school to
be a doctor.

Speaker 3 (22:52):
Well not exactly.

Speaker 5 (22:53):
How you can't just say you're a doctor.

Speaker 3 (22:56):
Well, I mean you could a lot of you.

Speaker 6 (22:58):
You technically can't perform medical procedures, but you could say it.

Speaker 3 (23:03):
Yeah, it's funny that this is even an issue. But
let's get back to music.

Speaker 2 (23:09):
Jon Marrio Courtney Lopez quickly squeezing in one last thing.
The notorious kool aid Man challenges back. That's when people
usually teens smash through fences like the kool Aid mascot
did back in the eighties commercials Oh yeah, oh yeah.
It's reportedly happened at least three times in Staten Island,
New York. It was a big issue back in twenty
twenty three, triggered by the same social media trend. Police

(23:31):
say taking part in this challenge is destructive and dangerous
and could lead to arrests. A lot of these trends
that the tide pod eating challenge. Remember that there's some
really like, oh man, it doesn't make me feel good.

Speaker 3 (23:44):
About the future.

Speaker 5 (23:45):
They really run through metal fences. I'm confused.

Speaker 6 (23:48):
Well, it'd have to be, would I think, Yeah, you'd
probably find like a wood fence.

Speaker 5 (23:52):
So they're not just putting up a piece of paper
that they run through at the round.

Speaker 3 (23:55):
Now, if they want to be legitimate, I think you
gotta break their wall.

Speaker 1 (23:58):
Right.

Speaker 3 (23:58):
In fact, man broke through brick walls. That's true. That's true. Yeah,
so they're going through fences.

Speaker 4 (24:03):
I assume the kids doing this aren't the smartest tools
on the show.

Speaker 1 (24:07):
Mario Lopez, We'll be right back.

Speaker 3 (24:10):
That's it big.

Speaker 2 (24:10):
Thanks again, Edwin McCain for zooming in on Mario dot
com for more of our chat more fun. Tomorrow, actor
and host Heimik Camil will be joining.

Speaker 4 (24:17):
Us, Plus we'll serve up some fresh justice in Courtney's court,
honor a good deed, and more. Until then, this is
Mario and Courtney Lopez saying good night.
