Speaker 1 (00:00):
You're on with Mario Lopez.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
All right, did we go? Mario Courtney Lopez back behind
the mike. Get ready to chat with Tammer and Hall
a little later. You got new children's book to tell
us about. Still busy with her talk show as well,
so lots to talk about what she zooms in later.

Speaker 3 (00:14):
Plus we'll share a fresh life hack. Catch you up
on the buzz and dig into our mentions to see
what's on your mind. So turn it up. You're on
with Mario and Courtney Lopez.

Speaker 4 (00:23):
A Mario, Courtney Lopez and Darren. Chris is getting roasted
over his baby's name.

Speaker 1 (00:28):
On with Mario Hollywood Buzz.

Speaker 4 (00:31):
So the former Glee star Welcome to baby boy.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
Congrats to him and his wife Mia, But the internet
is not loving the baby's name. The name brother Laslow.

Speaker 3 (00:40):
Chris, Wait, wait, brother's the name?

Speaker 2 (00:43):
Brother is the actual name. Some said that no woman
would want a data man they'd have to call brother.
That's a very good point. Others wondered if his nickname
would be bro very odd choice.

Speaker 4 (00:54):
Never heard of that name before.

Speaker 2 (00:56):
Darreny Mia already have a two year old daughter, Bluesy Bell,
ticking with the bees and they're sticking with being different.

Speaker 3 (01:02):
Well, they could call her Bebe that'll be cute, lousy
and brother.

Speaker 4 (01:05):
But what you're gonna call bro brother? No, you're gonna
call him Laslow? Yeah, Laslow is kind of fun. I
don't think you call him brother, although if he became
friends with hul Kogan it would work out pretty well.

Speaker 1 (01:17):
Hey, brother, Poor Mario Lopez coming up?

Speaker 2 (01:23):
You're al Mario Courtney Lopez and we were talking about
crazy baby names. But some traditional baby names are on
the verge of becoming extinct. Apparently names from the Baby
Boom generation are not being used anymore.

Speaker 3 (01:34):
What do we got, Honey, Well, for boys, it's names
like al Bernie hal was An h stan and Vic.

Speaker 4 (01:44):
Well, Al's from Albert, Bernie from Bernard Howe. I think Halliburton,
Stle Stanley, and Vic Victor. Victor is still a strong name.
I like that though.

Speaker 5 (01:57):
Well.

Speaker 3 (01:58):
For girls it's names like Ronda, Peggy, Kathy, Gail.

Speaker 4 (02:02):
They do sound of that era.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
Interesting more Mario Lopez on the way, What up?

Speaker 4 (02:08):
Mario Courtney Lopez? Here with some quick buzz.

Speaker 2 (02:10):
Steven Spielberg's new movie is officially on the schedule. Universal
has circled May fifteenth, twenty twenty six on their calendar.
There is no name yet for the movie, but we're
hearing Steven is returning to UFOs.

Speaker 4 (02:24):
That, of course, is a subject.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
I put him on the map back in nineteen seventy
seven with Close Encounters of the third kind. Ooh, I've
bet with today's technology, that's.

Speaker 4 (02:32):
Gonna be wild.

Speaker 3 (02:33):
Yeah, very cool.

Speaker 4 (02:34):
All right, let's get back to the music. What up,
Mario Courtney Lopez? Here a quick reminder that if you
never want to miss any of our fun.

Speaker 2 (02:41):
Here on the radio show, you gotta download the all
new version of our free iHeartRadio app. You can listen
on demand to all our full interviews with all the
awesome guests who.

Speaker 3 (02:50):
Stop by the iHeartRadio App, making it even easier to
enjoy and discover your favorite radio stations, artist, radio playlist
and podcast anytime anywhere on with Mario dot com for
the download.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
Amar Courtney Lopez and our son Dominic did something recently
that was really cool and he doesn't stopped talking about it,
and it makes me want to take him up on
his offer. What is that you ask? He went to
a drive in theater, Yeah, drive in movie theater. Drive No,
he went with a friend of mine and he took

(03:23):
him there and he's got an SUV and they opened
up the back hatch and they had some little lawn
chairs and you can hook up the Bluetooth to the
speakers in your car, right so you have this really
good sound. But on our nice summer night, you're eating,
you can have your snacks and stuff, and the screens
obviously right there.

Speaker 4 (03:41):
And he loved it. Though.

Speaker 2 (03:42):
I grew up by one Sweetwater Pacific Says right by
my house and true A Vista.

Speaker 4 (03:47):
And it was a lot of fun.

Speaker 2 (03:49):
It's been years, but I think we should go. That's
sort of an underrated, I think move these days.

Speaker 3 (03:54):
I have to look because the kids obviously don't remember.
But when gn Dominic were very little, they we did that.

Speaker 4 (04:00):
The swagger Wagon.

Speaker 3 (04:01):
Yeah yeah, I think it was in Pasadena. There was
one in Pasadena. It was very close. But they are
so little they don't remember. Obviously, Dominic remembers this one
because he's ten. But it's such a cool it was
such a cool experience.

Speaker 4 (04:13):
We got to do it, I think, especially on the
summer night when it's nice. Right now, Yeah, I think
that's that's a really good move.

Speaker 2 (04:18):
Come for Mario Lopez coming up, Mario Lopez here, my
wife Courtney business is booman. If you're a repo man
is a wild stat I posted about this. Car repossessions
are of twenty three percent this year. Sounds like the
buses are about to get a lot more crowded. It's
getting harder and harder to afford a car. And the
average price for a new car is close to forty
nine thousand dollars. And if you're not keeping up with payments,

(04:41):
well it'll get repossessed.

Speaker 3 (04:42):
I mean, just life in general is so expensive. This
is kind of getting out of hand, and we can't
even live.

Speaker 5 (04:49):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (04:50):
Meanwhile, let's listen to some good music so.

Speaker 3 (04:52):
We can live while we're listening to music.

Speaker 2 (04:55):
Ah, Mario Courtney Lopez, there's a few songs away from
stopping by Courtney's Corner for a new live hat.

Speaker 3 (05:00):
In the meantime, would love to play a song for you,
So tweet your requests hour way at on with Mario.

Speaker 4 (05:06):
You're old Mario Courney Lopez tun to learn new live pact.
What is the topic today at Courtney's Corner? Bacon?

Speaker 2 (05:12):
Oh, my gosh, you know how much I love bacon.
That's the number one reason why I could never be
a vegetarian, because when you walk into a kitchen and
you smell bacon cooking, there's no better smell.

Speaker 3 (05:22):
That is the only time where I am upset that
I don't eat it, But then I think of a pig. Well,
not everyone uses an entire package when they're making breakfast
because there's a lot in there. So here's how to
keep it fresh whatever you don't use. Instead of opening
the package at its end, try this. Cut the entire
package down the middle, take out only one half of

(05:46):
the bacon that's what you'll cook. Then use the packaging
from that side and cover the half that you're not using.
It's like a double bagging for the rest of the bacon.
Making sure it tastes fresh in your fridge. You know,
that's a good it's a very good idea. You can
also put it in a zip block. But if you're
if you don't have it, because there's many times I

(06:06):
go to grab a zip block and I didn't realize
we didn't have any right good hack.

Speaker 1 (06:10):
More Mario Lopez coming up, Mario Courtney Lopez.

Speaker 2 (06:14):
Here, let's put a spotlight on my wife at a
time for Courtney's random thought, what you got, honey?

Speaker 3 (06:19):
So I saw fifty cent making a sweater the other
day and I thought, gee, you nit, wow.

Speaker 4 (06:26):
Wow, you know what you delivered? That pretty good?

Speaker 6 (06:28):
But I thought, you ge you need ah.

Speaker 2 (06:45):
All right, a few more songs and gonna fire up
Zooms so we can chat with Sammer and all. You're on,
Mario Courtney Lopez busier than ever, hosting her talk show
and now dropping a new children's book.

Speaker 4 (06:54):
Back with the Scoop.

Speaker 2 (06:55):
Next, Deborah Mario Lopez Jomi right now on Zoom. Emmy
Award winning TV host my buddy Tamern Hall, how are you, Tamorn?

Speaker 5 (07:05):
Hey, Mario, so good to see you.

Speaker 2 (07:07):
So nice to see you too. You look great as
always and this is exciting. You got a new children's
book out called Harlem, Honey, The Adventures of a Curious Kid,
and it's inspired by your son, Moses.

Speaker 4 (07:20):
Right, it is it is.

Speaker 5 (07:22):
It's a little love letter, for lack of a better description,
to him. You knew me before I was a mom,
way back in the day, exploring the city of New
York and the careers that we both have had. And
I'm sure like you, there's so many things that you
thought about before becoming a parent, and then suddenly you're
actually a member of this team. Right. It's one thing

(07:42):
to study the plays or to watch other people do
it or experience it from the view of our own parents,
and then suddenly you're on the team.

Speaker 1 (07:50):
And you're like calling the plays.

Speaker 5 (07:53):
And this book is really about this journey with me
and Moses.

Speaker 4 (07:56):
And there is no blueprint to call those plays. You
just kind of got to roll with.

Speaker 2 (07:59):
The play is right there, and we got to roll
into a quick break. So Tamor and Hank time, we're
gonna have more on the way.

Speaker 1 (08:05):
More fun on the way on with Mario.

Speaker 2 (08:07):
Lopez, getting back to tammaron Halls on Zoom with us
here On with Mario Lopez, or new children's book is
out now, Harlem Honey, The Adventures of a Curious Kid.

Speaker 4 (08:16):
And you actually live in Harlem currently, right, I used to.

Speaker 5 (08:19):
Live in Harlem. The book is a love letter to
the first home that my son came home to. We
still live in New York City, but to your point,
you know, we lived in Harlem when my son was born.
And when you say you know, you can't there's a
blueprint for it. My son was almost a year old
when the pandemic happened. So he went from family in
Texas and friends in Philly, and family in Chicago and

(08:42):
all over the country, this big circle of friends and
family who were excited that I finally had a child
at age forty eight. And then we went to just me,
my husband and Moses. And when we re emerge from
you know, being in our home and locked in, my
kid in the home was super outgoing. You know, he's
like a little Mario. I thought he was ready to

(09:03):
be an actor and host and all these things. And
then we would come out and he was shy. He
would hide behind me. I feel like his hands get
a little warm and sweaty. And this shyness that I
wasn't expecting was now a part of our journey. And
so this book really is about how to talk about
fear and how to talk about change and new places

(09:26):
and new faces. You know, back in the day, people
would say to kids, oh, you know what, big kids
don't cry, Big boys don't cry. Now we don't use
that because we know that's not positive reinforcement. And this
book is really the same when it comes to fear,
How do you talk to a kid about fear. Do
you say get out there, you can do it when
we know that not everybody is ready to get out

(09:46):
there and do it. So I found that with my
son was this curiosity. So this book is a sweet
little love letter. It's only forty pages because I know
parents are like, okay, how many more pages?

Speaker 4 (09:57):
Let me get through this book.

Speaker 1 (09:59):
But it gives us.

Speaker 5 (10:00):
Chance to bond and have I hope, a loving and
supportive conversation about change and fear and all of that stuff.

Speaker 2 (10:08):
I too have a five year old and during that
same time, and I noticed exactly what you were talking about,
So I.

Speaker 4 (10:14):
Can relate because you know, during COVID and stuff, it did.

Speaker 2 (10:16):
And I noticed because compared to my other kids too,
it took them kind of a little bit to kind
of come out of the shell. And you're right that
that interaction is so important, especially in those developmental years
in the beginning. So I can totally really congratulations on
that book. Look forward to checking it out. All right,
hang on more with Tamer and All coming up, But
first more music a Mario Lopez catching up with Tammer

(10:36):
and Hall, who is on zoom just dropped a new
children's book, and of course your daytime.

Speaker 4 (10:41):
TV show, Tammer and Hall Show season six, Now that's awesome.

Speaker 5 (10:45):
Yeah, and we just got renewed for season seven, which
makes us the second longest running syndicated show talk show
in Disney's history. So it's a wild ride, one that
you know, I am so grateful for because knowing that,
you know, when I left my prior job, I was
like late forties, and you know, and the business that

(11:05):
we're in and just is in life, right, it can
be unforgiving after a certain age. And I used to
tell my husband that back in the day, you I
would be that anchor that you ran into at the
big box store and say, hey, I remember you that
you used to be on. But in truth, now you're
able to carve out your own identity through social media,
through a lot of platforms, and I was able to

(11:26):
do that and then turn it into this talk show
that I'm so proud of with the phenomenal team of
people that I work with every day.

Speaker 4 (11:32):
I'm happy for it and I'm glad that it's taking thinking.

Speaker 2 (11:34):
But right there, all right, Tamaran, hang on a few
more songs and want to come back with some more
tamer Tamaron Hall hanging on Zoom with Ault Mario Lopez
here and Tamaran Random.

Speaker 4 (11:44):
Random question.

Speaker 2 (11:45):
I always wanted to ask you because I remember when
we were talking, and I remember way back in the day,
because I know you for a while now, you'd say,
like Prince used to hit you up all the time.

Speaker 4 (11:53):
Prince was their home.

Speaker 2 (11:55):
And I used to think that was just so cool
because I love Prince and everybody got the wow, I
even got a wild Prince story. But what was like
a like a wild or just like an odd prince
Prince is that I would that I could appreciate because
I got.

Speaker 4 (12:09):
Something I got.

Speaker 7 (12:12):
Mine or mine are more along a heartfelt like yours
are probably like one night we were you know, maybe
well there's one that well there two that come to mind.

Speaker 5 (12:24):
One the very first time I met him in person.
We've been you know, talking as friends for a long time,
funny enough, like kind of like pin pals with phone
piles whatever, and he said, you know, I want to
come to New York. I'm gonna come here. And I'm like, okay, ready.
This has gone on for for quite a minute of time.

Speaker 4 (12:42):
And was he trying to day? Was he trying to
step was he trying to step to you or step
to me? Is dancing? Was he was?

Speaker 2 (12:50):
He?

Speaker 4 (12:50):
Was he flirting with you? Was he coming aunt to
you or just have you met?

Speaker 1 (12:54):
Yeah?

Speaker 8 (12:54):
Exactly, of course, that's just how was always making him
exact stupid question.

Speaker 5 (13:04):
And so that's okay. And so you know, I remember
him pulling up and he was in the car and
I opened the door and I was like, whoa, that's Prince.

Speaker 4 (13:12):
It's wild and.

Speaker 2 (13:13):
That is wild, all right, Tamoran, hang on because I
want to get your other print story too.

Speaker 4 (13:17):
We got to take a break. More with Tamaran on
the Way.

Speaker 1 (13:20):
You're the full interview now on with Mario dot Com.
More Mario Lopez on the Way.

Speaker 2 (13:25):
Wrapping up with Tamarind has been hanging on zoom with
us this hour. Mario Lopez here and a bit of goal.
You were telling us a story about Prince and you
said you had another memorable or important one, right.

Speaker 5 (13:35):
More important story to me, honestly, was when I had
just been in the throes of not knowing what my
next step would be in the next chapter, and he
had passed away, and we are approaching the anniversary of
the world losing him in this form, and I hadn't

(13:57):
check some emails or whatever. Mario is so wild and
I this email popped up in my priority emails that
I hadn't seen, and it said, why are you waiting
for someone else to do it when you could do
it yourself? And it turns out it was an email
that I had missed from him.

Speaker 4 (14:14):
Oh wow.

Speaker 5 (14:16):
And it was in this crosshairs as you know you've
been as well. Well, we're trying to figure out our
next step. Right, everybody's got an opinion. You believe you
can do something. You've got this version of yourself. And
I was in my apartment in Tribeca alone and this
email comes, and I've thought, am I crazy?

Speaker 1 (14:35):
Right?

Speaker 5 (14:35):
Wait? Wait, wait wait? And I could tell that it
hadn't been read before, but it was a message from him.
And so a lot of my memories really were just
of him encouraging me, you know, encouraging me to think
beyond what I was doing and to prepare for that
next chapter. That's why he was such a visionary. So
I know my story is a lot more heartfelt and
sensitive yours is probably included some wildness in Hollywood, but

(14:57):
I won't push.

Speaker 4 (14:58):
I won't push for that one in Vegas, but I'll
tell you another day. Love seeing you and everyone.

Speaker 2 (15:03):
Please be sure to pick up Tamara's new children's book,
Harlem Honey, The Adventures of a Curious Kid, which is
out now, and of course, be sure to check out
your local listings for her daytime TV show, Tamarin.

Speaker 4 (15:14):
So nice to see you, Good to see you. Okay,
take carey.

Speaker 2 (15:21):
Music rolls on, Mario Lopez. He're letting you know that
I Heart Radio was bringing you five things? Was Zara
Larsen all in celebration of her new single pretty Ugly.
Got to interview her recently. What a sweetheart Sweden. Super
witty and clever and funny and beautiful and great dancer.

Speaker 4 (15:40):

Speaker 2 (15:40):
You can check out the video now on iHeartRadio's YouTube
channel exclusively for my Heart Radio and on with Mario John.

Speaker 4 (15:47):
Mario, Courtney Lopez. Let's get to your comments. What'd you
find in our mentions?

Speaker 5 (15:50):
Honey?

Speaker 3 (15:51):
This is from at Snoop Dog for us and they said,
who is out there making Mario Lopez latte foam that
belongs in a museum?

Speaker 4 (16:00):
Hey, Snoop Dog for us.

Speaker 2 (16:02):
Yeah, we were at a birthday party and this Maurista
whipped up my face on the phone, and it was
pretty pretty darn accurate, wasn't it.

Speaker 3 (16:12):
I'm gonna tell you right now, shout out to Manny's coffee.

Speaker 4 (16:17):
Hey, Manny got down.

Speaker 3 (16:19):
Manny got down. No, it was like so quick, and
it was they didn't know we were we were gonna
be there.

Speaker 4 (16:25):
So very cool the way there. They were like literal artists.

Speaker 3 (16:28):
And I knew where and when that picture was from, too,
That's how clear it was.

Speaker 1 (16:34):
More Mario Lopez coming up.

Speaker 4 (16:37):
Mario Lopez here, and it looks like we got something
new in our inbox.

Speaker 9 (16:40):
This is Daniel, and I would like to hear I
can't film my face by the weekend. I would also
like to hear I'm gonna be by the Black Eyed Peas.
And I would also like to hear what you Know
by Love, Bi Pop, Smoke Daniels.

Speaker 2 (16:52):
That a whole playlist. Okay, Daniel, we appreciate the message, buddy.
We're gonna try to get one.

Speaker 4 (16:56):
Of those on for you.

Speaker 2 (16:57):
It's so easy to leave us a message too. Just
look at the talkback button on the bottom of you
right her radio at almar Courtney Lopez almost quitting time.
Just one last thing to get to before we head
out for the night. The toughest jobs.

Speaker 4 (17:09):
In America had been revealed. I think you might have
one of them. We're going to break it down next
Omar Courtney Lopez. Almost time to head home.

Speaker 2 (17:17):
But now before we get to one last thing, I
think you have a tough job. Well, a new survey
is breaking down the toughest jobs in America.

Speaker 4 (17:23):
Let's break down the list.

Speaker 3 (17:24):
Honey, construction workers, firefighters, military personnel, and doctors. Police officers
ranked number five, followed by EMTs and astronauts. However, forty
percent of us think we have the toughest job and
say that we face stressful situations every day. I mean,
I'm not.

Speaker 4 (17:44):
I'm not saying that people don't.

Speaker 3 (17:46):
But if I had a job where other people relied
on me as like.

Speaker 4 (17:51):
A doctor or firefighter.

Speaker 3 (17:53):
A firefighter, I can't imagine that kind of stress.

Speaker 2 (17:57):
Yeah, it's not only stressful, but you're working against the clock.

Speaker 4 (18:00):
The elements are tough. So yeah, God bless us folks.

Speaker 1 (18:04):
More Mario Lopez coming up.

Speaker 2 (18:07):
That's it tough for us to get home for the night.
Thanks again to tamman Hoff for joining us on Mario
dot com. From more of my chat with her.

Speaker 4 (18:12):
More fun tomorrow.

Speaker 3 (18:14):
