A lot of Christmas songs make us happy, but one
makes us the happiest.

Speaker 5 (03:17):
You're on with Mario Courtney Lopez.

Speaker 3 (03:19):
Doctor Claire Renfrew, a music psychologist's sifted through hours of
tracks to find the perfect songs, with all the tunes
adhering to a scientific formula, and according to the equation,
the perfect Christmas song is in a major key featuring bright,
energetic vocals playing at one hundred and one hundred and
four bpms with a simple.

Speaker 5 (03:35):
Catchy chorus.

Speaker 2 (03:36):
Brenda Lee's Rocking Around the Christmas Tree came out on top.

Speaker 4 (03:39):
Okay, I agree with those.

Speaker 5 (03:41):
That's a great one.

Speaker 2 (03:41):
That's a great one, That's a really good one.

Speaker 4 (03:43):
Others that make us the happiest Felice Navi Dad by
Jose Feliciano, Jingle Bell Rock by Bobby Helms, and Holly

only do Christmas songs boost our moods, they reduce stress,
evoke nostal and increase energy.

Nice happy Holidays from the entire on with Mario fam

Speaker 2 (04:09):
Hard to believe it but the Elf on the Shelf
is becoming an adult Santa's Little Spy, turning twenty this year.

Speaker 3 (04:14):
Technically it goes way back many decades in Scandinavian folklore,
but in two thousand and four the Elf on the
Shelf book was published and it took off that following year, and.

Speaker 4 (04:23):
The elf is as popular as ever, especially helpful so
parents can say things like, the elf is watching you
have to eat dinner. Our Sonny's elf left the other night,
but he came back the night. No, he was bad
since he came back, but then he was good, so
it worked.

Speaker 3 (04:39):
Almara Courtney Lopez Music rolls on After some quick holiday
food buzz, Krispy Crang has dropped its Peanuts collection with
a holiday Twists. Flavors include the Santa Beelly donut, the

second mention something really cool that I got to take
Pardon the fortieth anniversary of the Golden Girls. It is
a primetime special on ABC. It'll also be available on
Hulu and myself Jennifer Aniston Reese really cool people are
participating and pretty much talking about their love for the

(05:28):
Golden Girls. And I got to sit down and take
part and I was lucky enough to actually be a
guest star back in the day an episode that so
it gets a lot of love.

Speaker 6 (05:39):
I've seen it twice in the last year.

Speaker 3 (05:41):
Yeah, Dorothy's prized pupil. The Girls were really, really funny.
They're just classic and the precursor.

Speaker 5 (05:47):
To Sex and the City.

Speaker 2 (05:48):
Really, so check it out. Golden Girls, ABC.

Speaker 1 (05:50):

Speaker 4 (06:10):
The fifteen dollars gift pack includes a one point seven

Speaker 3 (06:32):
You're all Mario Cotney Lopez a few songs away from
firing up zooms so we can chat with Taylor Momson
from The Grinch Back of the Day.

Speaker 5 (06:38):
That movie turns.

Speaker 2 (06:39):
Twenty five this year, by the way. Anyway, she and
her band.

Speaker 3 (06:42):
The Pretty Reckless also just dropped a new holiday EP.
Going to talk about all that and more when Taylor
joins us next. You're all Mario Lopez joining me right
now and zoom lead singer of The Pretty Reckless and
Cindy lou Who from The Grinch Back on the Day,
Taylor mom Sin, Welcome, Taylor.

Speaker 6 (06:56):
How you doing.

Speaker 7 (06:57):
I'm doing really well.

Speaker 1 (06:58):
How are you?

Speaker 5 (06:59):
I'm well? Thank you?

Speaker 3 (07:00):
Twenty five years ago you're saying where are you Christmas?
As Cindy lou who alongside Jim Carrey as The Grinch.
Of course, is this the first time you've revisited the song?

Speaker 7 (07:11):
It is, and it's something that it's quite cute. It's
something that I never actually thought I would do.

Speaker 8 (07:18):
And fast forward twenty five years later and here we are,
and it's something that I'm actually very proud of. It's
very hurt warming, it's very full circle for me, and
it's kind of meat coming to terms with my youth
and my past and bringing it into my future.

Speaker 3 (07:34):
Yeah wow, I remember this came out twenty five years ago.
That's wild, all right, Taylor Hang tight more with Taylor
coming up after quick.

Speaker 1 (07:40):
Break, Happy Holidays from the entire on with Mario fam
more fest and fun coming up.

Speaker 3 (07:46):
Getting back to Taylor momson, who's hanging out on zoom
Mario Lopez Here, we're just talking about your reimagine holiday
song from The Grinch, Where are You Christmas?

Speaker 2 (07:54):
This time?

Speaker 5 (07:54):
It's not a bad though.

Speaker 2 (07:55):
It's a rock anthem, right it is.

Speaker 8 (07:58):
We put a little rock and edge to it. It's
actually quite cute. It's something that for since I formed
The Pretty Reckless when I was fourteen, every year fans
would put the connection together that I.

Speaker 7 (08:08):
Was singing to the dazoo and that you now have to.

Speaker 8 (08:11):
Stand, and every year fans would ask us to do
a rock version of where are You Christmas? And for
a good I don't know how long it was, fifteen years,
it was something that I never even considered.

Speaker 9 (08:23):
And fast forward to it's around COVID and everything's very
bleak and it's Christmas time, and I start seeing these
comments again and it kind of turns my head and
I go, should we just try this and see what happens?

Speaker 8 (08:38):
And sure enough we get into the rehearsal space, we
play through it once and for very miserable, jaded, upset
people suddenly had giant grins on our faces and it
was just the most joyous moment. Like I don't know
how to explain it, of that like it we all
kind of looked at each other and went, did this
just work?

Speaker 7 (08:59):
I think? I think we have to do this now.
So that's where it was born.

Speaker 8 (09:03):
And so really, this entire project is just kind of
one giant present to the fans because they've been asking
for it, and unbeknownst to me, it actually really warmed
something in my heart.

Speaker 7 (09:13):
That I think I needed. So I'm proud of it.

Speaker 6 (09:16):
Just like Christmas.

Speaker 2 (09:17):
All right, hang tight, little music, when you come back
with some more.

Speaker 3 (09:19):
Taylor al Mar Lopez talking about The Grinch turning twenty
five with Taylor Mobson, who played Cindy Lukhu.

Speaker 2 (09:26):
So, Taylor, what do you remember about that time?

Speaker 7 (09:29):
It was wonderful? I think you know that was something
that while revisiting this song. I spent a lot of.

Speaker 8 (09:35):
Time, you know, going down memory lane and thinking about
The Grinch and that entire experience, and.

Speaker 7 (09:41):
It was I have nothing bad to say about it,
which you know, how.

Speaker 8 (09:45):
Many experiences in your life is there's no negative, and
the Grinch was there's nothing negative about it. It was
getting to work with Ron Howard at such a young
age and you know, be under that kind of artistic direction.

Speaker 7 (09:57):
Which you know, eye opening for me a child.

Speaker 8 (10:00):
Getting to work with Jim and see his just intense,
you know, artistry at work was mind blowing as a kid.
And it was also my very first experience in a
recording studio when I was five years old, which changed
my whole life. It was an unbeknownst to me said
of half in motion that I never could have anticipated

(10:23):
at five.

Speaker 7 (10:24):
So it's the entire experience was awesome, and.

Speaker 8 (10:28):
It's very fun to kind of go back in time
and bring it bring it into the now.

Speaker 5 (10:33):
Yeah, but it's sort of surreal, all right.

Speaker 3 (10:34):
Taylor hanging type more to talk about the first more music.
Taylor Momson hanging out on Zoom this hour. Mario Lopez here,
and let's get back to your holiday ep Taylor Momson's
Pretty Reckless Christmas features four other tunes, including I Want
to Be Your Christmas Tree and Blues on Christmas.

Speaker 5 (10:49):
Tell Me about those.

Speaker 7 (10:50):
Songs well, being the completest that I am.

Speaker 8 (10:54):
When we decided to do Worry Christmas, I couldn't leave
it at that. It needed to have I knew it
needed a record to go along with it, to give
it context.

Speaker 7 (11:04):
And the original idea was to do.

Speaker 8 (11:07):
Classic Christmas covers and do them kind of in the
vein of Eric Clapton, like a booze record, But when
it actually came down to it, I'm not a big
fan of covers.

Speaker 7 (11:17):
I don't really like doing them, So I'm very specific
and strategic about songs that I like to sing. I
like writing songs, and.

Speaker 8 (11:25):
So I want, well, I need to write an original
Christmas record around this to kind of get it some
merit and really make it me.

Speaker 7 (11:32):
So I did, and it turns out it was.

Speaker 8 (11:34):
It was a very fun. The entire project was very fun,
and I think like we had a really really good
time making it, a really good time recording it, and
the record itself is kind of this full circle little
story of almost like a coming of age story of
my life and what it was like growing up. Starting

(11:56):
to sing with who and Where I Am now and
it kind of touches on every emotion of SMIs I think.
So there's something, there's something for everyone on it, hopefully nice.

Speaker 2 (12:04):
All right, one more thing I want to ask quick break,
and we're gonna come.

Speaker 1 (12:06):
Back and wrap it up. The countdown at Christmas continues
in moments. This is on with Mario Lopez.

Speaker 3 (12:13):
Wrap it up with Taylor mom Sin. You're all Mario
Lopez looking past Christmas? What's down the road in twenty
twenty six for the Pretty Reckless So much.

Speaker 8 (12:21):
Stuff, some stuff I can't tell you yet, but basically
new music, tons of new music.

Speaker 7 (12:28):
Really excited and tour. We're going back out with ACBC again.

Speaker 5 (12:33):
Nice.

Speaker 7 (12:33):
We're just going to be on the road and it's
going to be absolutely awesome.

Speaker 3 (12:37):

hearts of course, as cindylu Who and when you watch

teacher making a difference and maybe give them a gift
of being one of our next winners a five grand

thank my kids teachers enough. You guys, you seriously nominate
your favorite teacher now at on with Mario dot com
slash Teachers.

Speaker 5 (13:31):
Jeryl Mario, Courtney Lopez.

Speaker 3 (13:33):
What's the top of your Christmas list this year? Well,
for most Americans, it's money. According to a new survey,
it finds that fifty eight percent of us would prefer
the gift.

Speaker 2 (13:41):
Of cash, and we'd like, on average about six hundred dollars.

Speaker 5 (13:44):
Oh now, okay, Very.

Speaker 4 (13:46):
Specific practical presents are popular this holiday season is closed.
Shoes and jewelry are the second most wanted gift, followed
by bills being paid. Most people expect their friends and
family to know what they want so they don't bother
them with the wish list.

Speaker 5 (14:00):
Here's my question.

Speaker 4 (14:02):
I know we give our nieces and nephews. They they're
at that age now that they want cash. But for friends, Like,
if you're an adult giving to another adult and you
just want cash, why do you even exchange?

Speaker 6 (14:13):
Just save your mind, say we're not gonna exchange, get it.
We're not going to exchange gifts. That would be the
smart thing.

Speaker 1 (14:18):
Happy holidays to you and yours. This is on with
Mario Lopez. We'll be right back.

Speaker 4 (14:24):
You are on with Courtney Lopez. Some good news. The
Santa Tracker is officially up and running. Santa, of course,
is prepping for his big Christmas Eve run and NORD
North American Aerospace Defense Command.

Speaker 2 (14:36):
You I just said that, like it.

Speaker 4 (14:38):
It was just so natural. It's already following every move.
Their tracker is now live, so just go to norrad
Santa dot org or the app nor Red Track Santa Claus.
You or the kids can even call their holiday hotline
one eight seven seven Hi nor Ad, which is staffed
for anyone curious about where the big guy is. As
the countdown continues.

Speaker 5 (15:01):
All, Mario Lopez. Night's starting to wind down for me.
Just one last thing to get too shortly. In the meantime,
if you've got a song you want to hear, please.

Speaker 2 (15:07):
Send it over my way on x at on Mario.

Speaker 3 (15:11):
So do you have a favorite spot in your house?
Mario Lopez, Here I do my bed. Most of us
to place where you typically hang out and relax. Well
New survey breaking down exactly what that spot is. For
most people, it's usually a comfy chair, bean bag, or
a recliner.

Speaker 5 (15:27):
People sit about bean bags.

Speaker 2 (15:28):
Bean bags are cool. Some said it's their hammock in
the garden.

Speaker 3 (15:31):
Ooh, I love hammock too, where they can wear flip
flops and put their earbuds on and just escape. Has
said they really take offense to someone else sitting in
their spot. A few people even say they'll let everyone
in the house know and they've reserved their favorite spot
for stressful days.

Speaker 6 (15:44):
What do you put a sign on it?

Speaker 3 (15:45):
There is a spot on the couch that I'll ask
someone to move if they're sitting there. Yeah, And there's
also a spot outside by the pool, a certain chair
I like, where again I'll ask someone to move.

Speaker 5 (15:56):
If they're anything.

Speaker 6 (15:57):
It's your house.

Speaker 1 (15:58):
Yeah, exactly, Mario Lopez. We'll be right back, all right.

Speaker 5 (16:02):
That's it.

Speaker 3 (16:03):
