Speaker 1 (00:01):
It's Mario Lopez.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
So bro, Mario Lopez joining me right now, one of
the best selling musicians of all time, Grammy winning artists.
Mister Brian Adams. How you doing, Brian? I'm good, Thank you,
Thank you for taking the time. Been a fan for
a while, so it's nice to speak with you. I
saw your set from the iHeartRadio Music Festival the other week,
rocked it out. What's it like playing the festival like
that with with the wide variety of artists from different genres.

Speaker 1 (00:27):
Oh no, it's fine, great, I'll play with anybody. I
like that attitude. I like that very cool.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
Your new album, Roll with the Punches is very much
like that attitude. That's been out for about a month
and now people are digging it and you've accomplished so
much in your career. What what keeps you motivated as
far as writing new music? Al Well, this most recent
album is on my first four as an independent artist,
and uh, it's like I've got white earrings but I don't.

Speaker 1 (00:55):
Yes, And so got quite excited about that.

Speaker 3 (01:00):
And at the time when it actually happened and I
was no longer signed, I remember walking upstairs and just thinking, well,
I guess I got to Roll with the Punches, and
that's actually quite a good title.

Speaker 1 (01:14):
For a song, and so thus was the beginning of
the album.

Speaker 2 (01:19):
Very cool title, Roll with the Punches. You mentioned also
make Up your Mind the first couple of singles. Any
particular inspiration behind those, Well.

Speaker 1 (01:28):
Okay, I said roll with the punch It speaks for itself.

Speaker 3 (01:30):
You know, it's about getting up and facing adversity and
standing on your own and make up your Mind kind
of a special song. I use it as in my show.
I use it to showcase my drummer Pat Stewart because
he's if you listen to if you listen to the song,
you'll see why.

Speaker 2 (01:50):
And I know you're going to be on tour all
fall along. I'm trying to hit that LA show in November,
and I hear your set is over a couple hours long,
which is cool.

Speaker 1 (01:58):
It always has been. That's awesome.

Speaker 2 (02:00):
You You clearly keep in shape right there. Any particular
routine you like to get into to keep the stamina
night after night.

Speaker 3 (02:09):
Well, I mean, I think the thing that's best about
being One of the things you have to do as
a singer is you sort of have to always keep
working because it's like when an athlete trains to run
a marathon or something, you have to sort of build
up to it. And I think the same with voices.
You've got to keep them, keep them in certain.

Speaker 1 (02:32):
You got to keep it in shape to muscle. You've
been in shape. Yeah, it's a muscle exactly. Thank you,
of course.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
And over the summer you became one of the few
artists to play the Amphitheater of Pompeii in Italy. Of course,
the place was built around seventy BC, which is wild.
What was that experience like.

Speaker 1 (02:49):
Yeah, it's interesting.

Speaker 3 (02:50):
I played it acoustically just with my guitar, and I
love playing in Italy.

Speaker 1 (02:55):
It's it's an amazing place to play.

Speaker 3 (02:57):
And to have played that particular Amphitheater, which was originally
one of the first places that I went.

Speaker 1 (03:06):
The first Western band played I think it was Pink
Floyd back in the seventies. Wow. And so just to
be part of that legacy's pretty cool. I loved it. It
was amazing, The food was amazing. That you mentioned guitars.

Speaker 2 (03:21):
Is it true you actually own and play one of
Johnny Cash's guitars.

Speaker 1 (03:25):
I do. I do have one of Johnny's guitars. Yes,
Oh that's cool. Had nineteen fifty six Martin d eighteen.
That's awesome. Was it?

Speaker 2 (03:36):
Is there a story behind that or you just got
an auction or something.

Speaker 3 (03:39):
A friend of mine owned it and he came on
hard times and I said, well, if you if you're
looking get rid of the guitar, I'd be happy to
take it up your hands. He said, I would appreciate it,
and so he s that they give me to be
a good home. So yeah, I've been using it for
a bun of years.

Speaker 2 (03:56):
Oh that's awesome, very cool. Do you have any newer
artists who you like right now that are out the Trivanna.

Speaker 1 (04:03):
But there's loads of them. Yeah, I love I love how.
I'm really encouraged bashi by the songwriters today.

Speaker 3 (04:10):
There's there's there's just people that can write stuff that
I wouldn't be able to write and saying yeah, I
don't know who am I thinking of?

Speaker 1 (04:19):
Uh Lowly Young for example, and Billie Eilish and you know,
you know amazing.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
Yeah, yeah, I'd appreciate talent. Well, everyone listen. Please be
sure to check out Brian's new album, Roll with the Punches,
which is out now and head over to Brianadams dot
com for all of his tour dates.

Speaker 1 (04:40):
