Speaker 1 (00:01):
With Mario Littlepez. It's up Mario Lopez joining me now
in the studio. Actor and singer chord Over Street. How
are you man, great man? Just you know, enjoying this weather? Yeah,
I enjoying the summer so far? Yeah? Cool? Cool? You
got this? Yeah? Right? Oh my gosh, tell me about it? Uh,
new project over Street? Now, why did you just go
with your full name? It's a cool name though. Yeah,
(00:23):
It's just it's you know, it's a band vibe, and um,
I wanted to separate the stuff that I put out.
It's like more singer songwriter. Um, I wanted to put
on a rock show. Yeah, much like bon Jovi, right exactly.
And it works when you got a cool name like
over Street, you row with that exactly. We have a
we have a new song coming out called Living on
a Prayer. How would you compare this project though, compared
(00:46):
uh from songs in the past. Um, I mean, I
I grew up writing, writing and singing kind of country
stuff because it's kind of my dad. My dad's a
country writer. And uh, I mean I love like rock
and indie in and that that vibe, and that's the
kind of stuff that I listened to and kind of
naturally gravitate towards um so. But but I grew up
(01:07):
doing the singer song or I think, so I just
kind of naturally I kind of go both ways. But
I wanted to put on a rock show and something
that just people wanted to move to when they see
it live. Did dad puts you into piano classes? They're
taking guitar right at a very young age guitar like, well,
the first instrument I had was in Mandelin when I
was four, and then really and then I don't hear
that often as a first instrument, Yeah, and I never
(01:28):
really learned how to play it. We're still working on that. Yeah.
And then I picked up a guitar when I was
like seven, and uh, yeah, he pretty much you had
to play musical instrument or you had to sleep outside.
So yeah, it's all right. I got the same roles
at home. So um the news single Carried Away, Uh,
it does sound very West Coast for a guy from
the Nashville. But now Nashville they're doing all kinds of
(01:50):
different kinds of music as well. Yeah. I think there's
like something like a hundred people moving there a day,
and it's crazy. It's blowing up. I mean, if you
look at this, there's a picture somebody showed me a
picture the other day the skyline from two thousand eleven
to two thousand eighteen, and it's it's like empty, It's
completely empty. Now it's just like full of cranes and skyscrapers. Um,
property value shooting up. Yeah. I've been out here for
(02:11):
like ten years, so I feel like, you know, the
West Coast, The West Coast is rubbed off on me
a good bit. Yeah, you have no accent whatsoever. No
you could tell me you're from Sherman Olks. I'm from
Sherman Oaks. Is there an album, entire album possibly in
the works. Are you're just putting on singles? Um? I
think we're putting we're kind of putting doing one song
at a time. I think an album is a lot
of content to put out at once, you know, with
(02:32):
people's attention spans make so short day and age. But
I have an album done, okay, Yeah, it's done or
just kind of like slowly kind of just out there,
kind of working it out. So what's this project looked
like live? Do you have any musicians? Is this a
one man show? Um, it's it's a full band. We
just we just got the band together and actually after
(02:53):
this going to rehearsal and uh gonna rock out for
a little bit. Um. But yeah, it's I think it's
gonna be really fun and a lot of upbeat, nice,
just kind of summer songs. Yeah. Who are some of
your favorite artists to cover? What songs you like to cover? Um?
I love when artists cover other artists. Sometimes they have
(03:15):
better renditions. Yeah. I mean I don't know if I'd
have better renditions with the people I'm covering, but I like,
uh like Rocks and Sting and uh, Jesse's Girls like
one of my favorite ones to cover, Like a lot
of Tom Petty un Fleawood Mac Bonnie Rate, so you
know it kind of like yeah, a little bit, a
little bit like soulful rock. There you go. Yeah, good taste,
(03:37):
good taste right there. Um, I'm sure people still mention
Glee to you all the time. Who do you keep
in touch with most from the cast? Um geez? I
mean I would say probably Darren, uh, Harry Matt. I
mean I kind of I can't see them all sporadically.
They're all just kind of scattered around kind of real
(03:58):
high school. You see them when you can see him, Yeah,
I mean you, I mean you keep in touch with
people you worked with, Like yeah, yeah, like real high school.
I seeing when I see him and see each other.
You kind of picked up what we left off. Did
you see Darren in um in Um American Crime Story? Yeah? Yeah, yeah,
yeah he was great. Do you ever see that crazy
ast side of him before? Yeah? Yeah, when he was
when he was angry. You know, he did have a
(04:20):
great job. No, we actually was. He just got nominated
for an Emmy actually for that and uh so we
went to his he has a bar um in Hollywood,
went to and I saw him. He's got a bar
in Hollywood. Yeah, super fancy, super Hollywood. Wait what bar
is this? It's called Tramps Damp, Granny's Tramps Stamp. It's
like it's right across from Hotel Cafe. It's right by
(04:44):
like Velvet Margharitaanga. Yeah, how was he never told us
that he's been here? Exactly how long does he had this?
Uh it's probably barely new, maybe like the last like
six seven months. But it's like a bar and a
lot of people get up there and saying show to
wait a minute and that's my kind of joint. Seriously,
where is it again south of Hollywood? Or we'll google
(05:07):
it later. Tramp stamp granty, you want to sing Broadway
show tunes at like a with a bunch of Grandma's
my wife? Are you kidding me? At that? Sounds like
an awesome time, like real talk. That's cool a circus.
It's nice, nice And what about what about social life? Man?
I know the perhaps were all over your last relationship?
(05:29):
Was that was you? Now? Oh dude, somebody asked me
this the other and so here's what happened exactly. I was.
I was walking down Franklin Boulevard outside the Scientology building
and um, literally I felt like this alien life worce
sucked me out of my body for a couple of weeks,
(05:51):
and I in my mind, I have a big gap
about everything. That's very clever, very clever. I mean, you know,
it comes with the territory and everything. I ain't ask him,
you know, how you break her off? I was just asking,
is there someone special? That's all? Damn. I'm getting on
Tom Cruise crazy on me. Yeah, somebody asked somebody asked me,
(06:16):
somebody asked me something about that. Come on, dude, I'm married,
I got kids. I gotta live through all you young
single guys. Man. I know, man, me too, I got
married a long time ago. Nobody knows about it. Yeah,
I gotta. I have like a five year old kid
in Nashville. I was like, you know, I was like eighteen,
and I don't really claim him or anything's just a
crazy pull. Alright, fair enough? You having fun? Yeah, I'm
(06:38):
having a bus alright. Good, alright, keep it up, keep
it up, and put you on the spot. Quick questions,
quick answers, Right alright. Current song obsession? Ah, current song
obsession obsession? Um, you know song can't get it? Could
be yours? Yeah, it's just mind good answer. Uh. Last
movie you saw in theaters? Um m, I think it
(07:01):
was Avengers, Last Adventurers. Favorite place to play live, um,
Hotel cafe. Hotel cafe is really fun, like intimate venue.
Celebrity crush, growing up, Jenny Anniston. Okay, dream collaboration m M.
Do you have to be alive? Yes? To be able?
(07:24):

in time, all right, give me your pure past and
then give me your current. Okay, um elvis um, current
