How you doing. Good to be back, Mario. What's up man?
Looking forward to your new special. Congrats on that it
is dropping on Wednesday. Above it all, what what's the
significance of the title? Alright, So a bit of a

(00:20):
dual meeting, because first of all, I filmed it at
my home in the beautiful Hollywood Hills, and so a
number one above it all was like, all right, this
is where I reside for the last tull the years
of my career. Um. But also it's like, you know,
anytime you watch a comedian, I think the best specials
over the years that I grew up with always have

(00:42):
a theme in the through line. And a lot of
my career has been either if I'm taking a hit
or I'm celebrating a high water mark, maybe even in
rare air, which comes with its own dilemmas. Sometimes, you know,
I wanted to be able to come at my own
life and career and show people through comedy I've been
able to stay also above all the negative and negativity

(01:04):
in the noise good for you, poignant. I like that
being that you filmed it at your house. Was there
an audience and if so, how big? Yeah? We had
two shows. We had a Friday Saturday, so about a
thousand people each night on the front lawn. Oh you
got a serious crib then if you can fit a
thousand people on your front lawn, Yeah, No, I'm doing okay.

(01:25):
This kid from Arlington, mass Is is doing all right
for himself. But I will tell you something funny happened.
There was an event coordinator and it was their job
to make sure all the people that were on the
sign up sheet got shuttled to my home from a
parking lot down the road and then check everybody out.
And the second night, this guy calls me like one

(01:45):
in the morning and he's frantic. I was like, Hey,
is there anything alrighty goes I just double check the
numbers and there's one person not accounted for that might
still be on your property. So did they find the guy?
It was? Dude? I was with a I was walking
around my house with a hammer and videoing in case
I got a great TikTok video of me beating up

(02:06):
a heckler and right, right, right, God, it was gonna
be like that movie. What's the movie with the parasite?
Remember when they call when they live in your career movie.
I was like, oh wow, what a trip. Unfortunately there
was nobody to be found. But dude, it was outstanding man,
to have all these people, you know, sharing in my
thirty year victory lap of doing stand up and then

(02:27):
Marty Cullinger, the greatest comedy director legend of all time,
to come back and work with me for a third time.
I know that it's funny, but I also think it's
one of the most beautiful comedy specials ever made. Good
for you, man, congrats on that. I love me some
comedy specials and forward of checking it out, you're also
putting it out on the platform moment. What do you
like about that platform? Well, I like that it's not

(02:50):
a convoluted contract where you lose your IP and a
lot of young artists and I mentor a lot of
young you know, comics, you know musicians, people that know
I've had some epic success and some epic failure and
that data and what I've learned about creating something yourself
is if you lose control of it by signing it

(03:11):
off to somebody. Then oftentimes you're kind of you're chasing
your royalty. Sometimes you don't even get paid for the
work that you did. And so moment that screwter Bronze
company that he invested in, and what they what they're
doing is almost like an Internet version of what pay
per view used to be. You can come in, you
can buy my show, you can buy merch, you can
do a hang out with me. Everything is right in

(03:33):
that site. But you don't have to join like a
subscription to a streamer that you barely want to watch
or don't enjoy. You want to see the comics you
want to see in real time, you can go through
Dane Cook dot com. You can get the show, watch
it with me in the moment right then a moment um.
I remember you you were pretty ground biking in the
MySpace days back in the day. Are you are you

(03:55):
active now on today's sites like like TikTok or I
Am Man. It's obviously different. You know, that was like
the wild West. That was certainly there was no there
was no kind of corporate algorithm back then. It was
it was like anything goes. It was great because you know,
it's just a wide open portal to the globe and

(04:19):
now certain apps you know, you've got to kind of
play with the algorithm or whatever it might be. But
I will say I felt like, um my space was
like TikTok one point. Oh it was really popular, it
was really fresh. It was it was a congregation of
people that had genuine fandom and less of the negativity

(04:41):
or the look you lose. And I find TikTok is
finding that same value, and I'm finding that value with
my performer to fan currency and how I want to
hang with them. Nice man. By the way, congrats on
your recent engagement. You uh, you set a date for
the wedding yet or we're looking at next fall. Know,
we're just enjoying it. Kelsey and I have been. You know,

(05:02):
we got a couple of trips planned after all this,
you know, pr and the show goes, and then we're
gonna take a little break and probably look at Yeah
sometime next fall. You do it at your crib. You
can fit at thousand people there at least. Kelsey and
I are so low pro man, We're like, uh, we're
total home body types. So we'll probably end up doing
something a little more intimate with just a few family

(05:23):
and friends and then we'll do like a blowout party
in Vegas after Good for you, Good for you, congrats
on that. What kind of dog you got? I see
it warm going around there. I got to I got
a Rhodesian ridge back who's a year and a half.
And I got Chopper, who's a shepherd poodle. I've had
him for about seven years. Oh nice, nice dogs right there,
right on, man, Well, congrats on everything above it all
