Speaker 1 (00:00):
On Mario Lopez. Bro, Maria Lopez, join me right now
on zoom. My man, Himmel, how are you Hime.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
Argue?

Speaker 3 (00:10):
My man, you're so I was telling you listen, I
was telling you off off microphone.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
You're so kind, You're so.

Speaker 3 (00:17):
Generous, You're always You're the hardest working man in Hollywood.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
Brother. I don't know how you do it.

Speaker 1 (00:22):
You're so sweet.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
Thanks, buddy.

Speaker 1 (00:23):
It was always a good It's always good to see you.
When we were just talking to off Mike that we
see each other often at the LA f C Games,
which I have not been able to go to this year,
but you, sir, are a fixture there. I know you
go a lot. And the season I couldn't know over
how long it is, but I still got time.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
Well, the tournament is going on at the same time.

Speaker 1 (00:41):
Yeah, then there's tournaments going it's like it's never ending.

Speaker 2 (00:45):
The Open Cup, then less, then the League's Cup. There's
so many. Yeah, it's so many.

Speaker 1 (00:51):
It's very cool. If anyone has never gone, it's a
really good time in person. But listen, I saw you
join the Distinguished Gentleman's Ride in LA that's going down
on May eighteenth. What's the event about.

Speaker 2 (01:03):
It is a beautiful event.

Speaker 3 (01:04):
Brother, it's very near and dear to my heart because
I lost my dad in twenty twenty, not that he
took his own life, but when he died, all my
brothers we connected the dogs and he was in a deep,
deep depression.

Speaker 2 (01:15):
Because you know how it is with men, especially Latino men.

Speaker 3 (01:18):
We're supposed to power through our obstacles, adversity, adversities, challenging times.
And you know, men are supposed to tough it up
and men up and don't tell your boys that you
love them.

Speaker 2 (01:30):
Because you may make them solved.

Speaker 3 (01:31):
And you know all this toxic masculinity we have behind
our brotherhood. And so the distinguished Gentlemen's right. It is
a beautiful parade of motorcycles which were super dapper, and
we paraded throughout Hollywood and Beverly Hills, and people they
take pictures, but we are actually doing it to benefit November,

(01:52):
which is the word leading charity for men's health, and
eighty percent of their resources benefit men's mental health because
you know, four out of five suicides are committed by men,
and and you know, men's mental health is a very
important thing that we should definitely.

Speaker 1 (02:11):
Address, no, absolutely You're exactly right, and good for you
for taking part in that.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
Thank you.

Speaker 1 (02:17):
And yeah, we'll make sure to put up all the
info on our website so you can get involved if
you'd like to join something else. That's very cool. I
don't want to make sure we talk about you play
the legendary the Santa Fernandez in the series of Ray
which people can see on Netflix. Man, that must have
been I mean, an honor of course, but sort of
daunting too at the same time. Right, and and uh

(02:39):
was it everything you thought the ex periends would be.

Speaker 2 (02:42):
Yes, as it was.

Speaker 3 (02:43):
I love I love that creative behind it because they
were like, we are not imitating DISCENTI. There are very great,
amazing uh comedy musse and comedianes, comedians you know out
out there that think they can do you know, the
classic you know the Glass. We say, very well, but
here we have to, you know, take the essence of

(03:05):
Vissente and in a way create our own Vicenta Fernandez,
you know, with his mannerisms and the way he talked
and everything.

Speaker 2 (03:15):
But honestly, the show is a it's a.

Speaker 3 (03:18):
Drama show and ninety eight percent of the show happens
with Vissente off the stage, So to do him singing
and the stage, you know, that's an easy thing. You
see that a lot, but there are not many home
videos of him, so we had to create our own
Vicente Fernande. So I love the directors and the creative

(03:39):
team behind the show. They were like, we don't want
to imitate him. We don't want to do what comedians
do out there when they're imitating him. We want to,
you know, create our own descent. And I was privileged
enough to sing the songs. You know, an actress singer's
voice is like a fingerprip. But I try my best
to emulate how he phrased the songs and everything. But

(04:03):
it was it was such a beautiful experience. I mean,
he's an icon.

Speaker 1 (04:06):
Oh absolutely what this might be a tough question to answer,
but what's your mount Rushmore Top four Vicente Fernande songs ESK.

Speaker 2 (04:16):
When I did the show, it was right before the
Sente was successful with Vorve Borvera. It was right before.

Speaker 3 (04:26):
So it was those challenging times where he was flooded
with lawsuits because you know, being from a rancho, every
single manager was like, no, I'm going to make you
famous whatever, And you know, not being able to read
and write.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
She signed everything. Whatever, let's do it.

Speaker 3 (04:44):
And when that hits, all these guys show up at
the label of Sony I believe it was.

Speaker 2 (04:49):
It was Sony or something.

Speaker 3 (04:50):
They show up like, hey, yeah, he owes me money
from this because he signed like a whatever.

Speaker 2 (04:56):
The billion year contract.

Speaker 3 (04:58):
Yeah, he owns me A wrote, We're like WHOA. So
it was so I don't know. There were so many songs.
Perando Maria was a beautiful one, you know, the classic
vo Verbo ray, those are the classic ones. But I
got to sing, and I them on top of of

(05:19):
mine right now.

Speaker 2 (05:19):
But I had to sing. I was able to sing
like Midegorano.

Speaker 3 (05:25):
Look, you know these old songs that might be many
people might not know these songs, but those are those
are the ones that I saw.

Speaker 1 (05:31):
Did you get to do like Los Manados or lal
del Monte, laltel Monte.

Speaker 2 (05:36):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (05:36):
I love that little other.

Speaker 2 (05:38):
I love it's so great. Let me see.

Speaker 3 (05:41):
I have I tell you exactly which ones I did
if I.

Speaker 2 (05:49):
Hopefully I can find them. But I don't want to
take much of your time.

Speaker 1 (05:51):
No, no, no, it's just curious.

Speaker 2 (05:52):
That's so much cool.

Speaker 1 (05:53):
I want to talk about your salsa line.

Speaker 2 (05:54):
This is really cool.

Speaker 1 (05:55):
You created with your wife, Mila Luna salsa.

Speaker 2 (05:58):
Correct, Mila lut On right here? Have you tried it?
I think I took some to access the other the
other day when I went to visit you.

Speaker 1 (06:06):
I wasn't there, Huh, I wasn't I wasn't there, but
I got him here. I Oh, I like cilantro.

Speaker 2 (06:13):
I love cilantro. So I love the green one.

Speaker 1 (06:15):
And this red one.

Speaker 2 (06:16):
Oh okay, oh I love white.

Speaker 1 (06:19):
I'm looking. I'm looking forward to uh to Chinese. I'm gonna.

Speaker 2 (06:22):
I'm gonna trump.

Speaker 3 (06:24):
They go great with tequila Casa Mexico.

Speaker 2 (06:27):
Hey, there you go, exactly.

Speaker 3 (06:29):
That's the amazing if you go a little tortilla chip
or tatos and you see a delicious I'm more of
reposada not so much.

Speaker 2 (06:37):
And yeho, but you have reposo as well, right.

Speaker 1 (06:39):
You have are Y yes, Lanco Raposo and Mexico with
Mila Luna salsa. That's the one two combination right there.
I'm gonna and I like salsa, my steak, my eggs,
my soap. I like it on everything. So that's gonna go.
That's gonna go.

Speaker 2 (06:55):
Really, you should do a show. You're such a foodie.

Speaker 1 (06:57):
Yeah, yeah, I am a foody.

Speaker 2 (06:58):
You go to every single restaurant, but all the time.
How to show. You know, our sister Eva Longoria is
also a.

Speaker 3 (07:04):
Foodie, Yes, but I don't think she enjoys food as
much as you do. No.

Speaker 1 (07:08):
No, I'm really a borto like behind the scenes because
I love to eat.

Speaker 2 (07:12):
I do love to Yes, we can see.

Speaker 1 (07:16):
I identify as one and last thing because I'm excited
about this. Uh, Coco Too was recently announced by Disney.
Are we going to see you back? Perhaps for the
new film?

Speaker 2 (07:27):
Yes, hopefully.

Speaker 3 (07:27):
Yes. I had a beautiful call with Leon Crichard, director,
and Piers and Nadia Molina as well.

Speaker 2 (07:33):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (07:35):
I have no idea what's going to happen, but I
assume that Miguel is now a teenager, all right, so
being the family, the dad or the mom will have
a little bit more, you know, they will play more
with with him.

Speaker 2 (07:48):
I have, you know, crazy conspiracy theories that I'm like,
you know, maybe the dad died and he needs to go.
I don't know, I will.

Speaker 3 (07:56):
I would like to be more involved because I only
got to sing remember me when Christian and Bobby Lopez
were kind enough to invite me to celebrate their career,
so I imagine this. I got to sing Remember Me
at Carnegie Hall in New York. That's awesome in a
full Chael suit, which, by the way, I had to
ask the Dissenter production to lend me because the same

(08:17):
guy that did the.

Speaker 2 (08:18):
Dissenter suits for him was cunning enough to do the
ward rope for the for the show.

Speaker 3 (08:24):
So you know, there are like, I don't know, one
hundred thousand Penzels chapel suits like super expensive. So Vicente
Production lent me a beautiful black and black and red
chapel suit that I robbed at Carnegie Hall and I
got to see you remember.

Speaker 2 (08:38):
So hopefully Coco too, my character will get to sing more.

Speaker 3 (08:41):
Adam.

Speaker 1 (08:42):
That's great. It's a beautiful film. I can't wait to
see the second one and listen. If you again. Want

Speaker 3 (08:55):
I'm no matter what happens in every single scene in
the world, I'm sorry, same day it happens in every
single city.

Speaker 2 (09:02):
In every single city in the world. The same everyone liz.

Speaker 3 (09:05):
Boa, Madrid, Mexico City, Los Angeles, and Francisco.

Speaker 2 (09:08):
Happens in every single city in the world.

Speaker 3 (09:10):
It has raised over forty million dollars in the last
ten years.

Speaker 2 (09:14):
That's awesome for November.

Speaker 3 (09:16):
And there is like a like a competition to see
which city ends up in first place. So last year
I did it in Mexico City and my friend and
Mexican billion Ricardo Salinas was coming enough to make like
a very powerful donation. So thanks to that, Mexico City
was a number one city last year. We want this

(09:37):
year for Los Angeles to be the number one city.

Speaker 1 (09:40):
Let's call Salina's listen.

Speaker 2 (09:44):
Alinas exactly. Hi, Matt, thanks so much to check it
in brother always. Thank Madrizo, sweet, thank you for your time. Thanks,
thank you.
