this because I was talking about it on the radio
show here and on my show Access with all the
Brad Pitt headlines that you've been making.
Speaker 2 (00:36):
What's up with the not showering?
Speaker 1 (00:37):
What? What like?
Speaker 2 (00:38):
Was that by choice? Y'all were trying to save on water?
Were you hippies? What's the deal we were?
Speaker 1 (00:44):
I don't know how it. I don't know how it
all started, but it just became this competition to see
who could go the longest without you. It's disgusting. I
don't know what we were all. What was the problem.
I mean, it wasn't just him and me. It was
it was him and me and our other roommate Bernie
and fuck you know all there was a whole crew
(01:05):
of us. It was like six or eight of us
that would do it. We thought it was hilarious, but six.
Speaker 3 (01:10):
Or eight so when people walked in, was the thunk
just like next level?
Speaker 2 (01:15):
And how long did you go without showering? How long?
What was that?
Speaker 1 (01:18):
I could never go very long? I you know, I
was like two days, three days maybe, But like.
Speaker 2 (01:23):
What did Brad do? What was his longest?
Speaker 1 (01:25):
Oh? No, he could rack it up like six, seven,
eight days? Yay, he was impressive. Yeah, he was impressive.
Speaker 2 (01:33):
That's incredible.
Speaker 1 (01:34):
I love that.
Speaker 2 (01:35):
I love that.
Speaker 1 (01:35):
Man.
Speaker 3 (01:37):
So I'm assuming you're showering again. The hygiene seems to
pre a priority. You're looking percent Okay.
Speaker 1 (01:42):
Hygiene is up a big priority here in my house
now these days.
Speaker 2 (01:45):
I'm sure your wife appreciates that. That's great, bad, that's great. Well,
congratulations on the new series Wildcards. Tell me about it.
Speaker 1 (01:52):
Wild Cards is really follows this sort of ununlikely duo,
this this con woman who's you know, spirited and free
wheeling in this sort of you know, this button down
by the book detective and they get forced to work
together by the police commissioner on a case and then
it goes so well that they commissioner makes them partners
(02:15):
and makes makes them work together. So you know, the
show is about sort of, you know, just just the
shows about the juxtaposition of those two characters in a way.
You know, you're her being so free spirited, him being
so buttoned down in it, and it's super fun and
super funny. And I play the con woman's con artist's
father who they come to me a lot and ask
(02:39):
me for help and advice on on on cases, which
is which is pretty funny.
Speaker 3 (02:45):
True your character is based on someone from your real life?
Speaker 1 (02:49):
Well, yes, I about I guess it was about twenty five,
twenty five, thirty years ago I got conned by a
con man, and uh, and so I built I sort
of built the character of George on based him on
that guy.
Speaker 2 (03:05):
Was it.
Speaker 3 (03:05):
Ah, not to get too personal, the only con I
can remember getting conned because I never like when Ponzi
schemes were big and all that. I remember back in
the day, I did like three card money in New
York when I was I was like fifteen, and I
got conned.
Speaker 2 (03:19):
That's my only time I got on. I'll never forget.
Speaker 3 (03:21):
I was literally fifteen, I remember that, but was yours
more of like an invest investment deal?
Speaker 1 (03:26):
It was, it was an investment deal. Yeah, it was
a real estate investment deal. And it wasn't. It's not
like I was the only one who got coned. Much
of us got cone. Yeah, and it was Yeah, he was.
He was good. Yeah, evidently good. Where'd y'all?
Speaker 2 (03:38):
Where'd y'all feel in this show me? Where'd you film
wild Cards?
Speaker 1 (03:42):
Oh? We shoot Wildcards in Vancouver, which is super fun
for me. That's you know, that's the town I grew
up in when I went to school and everything.
Speaker 2 (03:50):
So to say, I thought home town.
Speaker 1 (03:51):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, So being able to go back there
and work there was really fun for me. I could
spend time with my family and nice stuff like that.
She's good.
Speaker 2 (03:59):
Yeah, that's a beautiful city. You're directing some of the
episodes as well.
Speaker 1 (04:02):
Right, not on not on, not on wild Cards. I
think I think they'll probably throw me in the chair
next year if this comes back. But I spent I
spent last summer directing My Life with The Walter Boys
the Netflix. Y a show that that all the kids,
that all the kids really like. So yeah, I spent
(04:23):
I spent the summer up there directing on that and
it looks like I'm going back there next summer to
do it again.
Speaker 2 (04:27):
Oh nice.
Speaker 3 (04:28):
And and what's the uh the status of the hockey
movie keeper of the Cup?
Speaker 1 (04:34):
Keeper of the Cup is? Uh? Is this? Uh? It's
well anyway, it's it's sort of it's it's difficult to
get to get organizations like the NHL or the NFL
or the NBA to sign off on things. It is.
So we've sort of been We've been going around with
them for for a while.
Speaker 2 (04:55):
Got it, gott I know that's what it makes it difficult,
those kind of things. I know what you're saying, man.
And how are the kids? How many you got and
how old are they now?
Speaker 3 (05:01):
Jason?
Speaker 1 (05:02):
I got I got two kids. I got a sixteen
year old girl and a fourteen year old boy.
Speaker 2 (05:06):
Oh you're right in the middle, so all.
Speaker 1 (05:08):
Hands on deck over here all the time.
Speaker 3 (05:10):
Yeah, that's good man. And we discussed prior to start.
And you're living out in Nashville, Tennessee. That's been a
fun transition.
Speaker 1 (05:18):
It has been. Yeah, Like we came here because we
found a school here that we really wanted our kids
to go to. And so when they got into that school.
We came here, which is and it's been great. Man.
I love it here. I mean you were saying that
you were here shooting a movie last year, like it's
a super fun town. Really is. It feels like it
(05:38):
feels like a town that's just big enough without being
too big. It's big enough you've got everything you want,
but it's not so big that you that your you know,
modus operandi is is always being upended.
Speaker 2 (05:51):
I agree. I really liked it and the people are
really nice and great music scene too.
Speaker 1 (05:55):
