Are you been I've been good, man, I've been good.
I saw an interview recently, Nelly, it was online or
something to talk about the era of hip hop, how
when you came out how prominent and difficult it was
with all the artists that were popping. I was like, damn,
he's right, that was wild back in the day, because
then when everybody was popping it to get a hit,
it was even that much harder.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
Well, I didn't want people to some people took it
out of context, not saying that our hip hop was
the mess. I was just saying at that time, you know,
it was at a time where hip hop was the
number one music on the planet period, and you were
dealing with the JA rules and the DMX's and the
jay Z's and then the fifties and then Kanye's and

it was just it was brutal, man.

Was man, No baby was it was the best?

Speaker 3 (01:01):
It really was.

Speaker 1 (01:02):
That was like the golden are right there. So no,
I agree with you. That was my point.

Speaker 3 (01:06):
Well, it's nice.

Speaker 1 (01:07):
It's nice to see y'all together right here. It's funny
because y'all had a bit of a wild ride a
little bit as a couple. Right You're dated back in
the day, got back together a couple years ago. Now
you're married, you had a baby. Congratulations. Sometimes sometimes it
takes the minute you gotta take a step back to
go forward.

Speaker 2 (01:23):
Huh, Absolutely all the time, man, you know what I mean,
there's nothing wrong with that. A lot of times, you know,
you got to see what works for you. And like
I like to say, take the good with the bad.
As long as the good out ways the bad, and
for this situation, as far as our ways the bad.

Speaker 1 (01:40):
Absolutely And now cut to new reality show coming to
Peacock called Nelly and Ashante We Belong Together. I like
the title. Uh one are fans gonna learn watching the series?

Speaker 3 (01:51):
I think fans are going to just get a chance
to see us, obviously in a more personal note, just
navigating through life in real time. You know, I'm on tour,
he's on tour. We have the big Kk's on tour,
you know, just juggling. We don't know where we're gonna
live yet, that's very retal. So just making all these decisions,
you know, in real time, in real life and just
figuring it out like like regular people.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
Yeah, you mentioned you don't where you're gonna live. I know, Nelly,
you don't want to live in New York right, not live.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
I have no problem visiting. I love New York.

Speaker 3 (02:23):
I'll get that to it.

Speaker 1 (02:24):
I'm with you. I love bro I want to go.
Are you trying to live there? Either? I know, I
know exactly how you feel.

Speaker 3 (02:31):
You know what both of you guys are some paters. Okay,
where you where you're from?

Speaker 1 (02:36):
Originally? You're right where you're from originally New York. No,
I know, Oh, from Strong Island. Okay, See, I like you.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
I like that.

Speaker 1 (02:45):
I guess if you're not from there, though, you go
there and it's like overwhelming, you know what I mean,
It's like a lie with everything, especially coming to Saint
Louis and all that. So did you haven't picked a
place in You haven't picked a location.

Speaker 2 (02:59):
I don't think it's ever gonna be. It probably will
never be one one like definite, because I mean we
have obviously we have a home in Saint Louis.

Speaker 3 (03:12):
She's from here.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
I don't think she would ever uh totally have something
here in New York. I mean, you know, her family
and a lot of people that love her are here.
But I think it's you know, we spend so much
time on the road, man, and then you know, I'm

(03:33):
always thinking about taxes.

Speaker 1 (03:36):
That's good, it's smart. You mentioned on the road and
I know the where the party had tours out on
the road all summer. You job rule eve fabulous. That's
a fun show man. How they've been going so far, It's.

Speaker 2 (03:48):
Been going great, man. We started out and in Australia
with a little bit of a Saint Louis thing. We
obviously went to Canada, went to Europe, and was starting
here in the States and in a couple of more weeks.
So it's it's been really really.

Speaker 1 (04:00):
Dope, nice and a Chantanna. You've been playing a bunch
of shows as well. How difficult does it right now balancing?
I know you were talking to your baby right now,
you know, being a mom and playing the shows on
in the road. I'm assuming the baby comes along, Yeah,
he comes absolutely.

Speaker 3 (04:14):
I was just on tour in Europe myself and Sean Paul,
so bringing KK over there. At first was a little scary,
you know, but we get it done. You know. There
were a couple of nights that I had to kind
of pump the milk, give the milk to the driver,
send it back to the hotel with nanny.

Speaker 1 (04:29):
Yeah, you know.

Speaker 3 (04:30):
So it's just about multitasking and getting it done.

Speaker 1 (04:33):
You gotta do what you gotta do.

Speaker 2 (04:35):
Well.

Speaker 1 (04:35):
