I hold you there for you. Yeah, seventeen too young
for you. Even it's seventeen too young for me. For

So I need somebody that at least can come school something.
He got to be half, can't you. I mean she
could pay You're right to seventeen. Ain't that bad? Because

(01:52):
I look at it, when she twenty two, you twenty seven.
It got to be like that. I real g like
if she turned the eighteen that year, we could be friends.
We could kick it. The conversations can't be rid of.
Too grown. But soon as that birthday hit smashing, I'm
putting on me. Well, yeah I got something. I treated
like d MS treated that little girl in belly Man,

(02:13):
when girls like um she was giving him flationship. See,
I can't get no head from what no cook no,
because I get the head. I'm not gonna golden all
the way through. I'm just trying to get you caught up.
Don't listen. That't trying to say. So I'm gonna wait.
I'm gonna wait till that birthday. I'm gonna wait till
the birthday call. But I feel like Miley Cyrus was
dating older guys when she was seventeen, eighteen years old.

(02:33):
But you see how she kid it though, Yeah, behind clothed.
Oh no, I think they was out and about them,
you guys talking about she was she talking until she
was back twenty two? Yeah, when she was a hand
in Montana. But you see how she talked like she
doesn't did it? But photo you you know what I'm saying.
So she had it behind clothed though, so I could respect. Well,

(02:54):
you're looking for a girlfriend, right, I mean, I'm chilling,
but you know what I'm saying. If if you want
to be my girl, then you know what I'm saying.
You can talk. What kind of girl are you looking for?
Somebody can hold me down throughout this is what I'm
going through. What you go through yea, Where are you
going through? I watch you on Instagram and Twitter and
it says like you're really funny. But it sometimes it
feel like you really be going through. Man, I'd be chilling, man,
like it'd be a lot going on. Man, I just

(03:16):
be needing that that one, that one female like you
know what you get out all that? You know what
I'm saying, Give me sloppy toppy man. You know what
I'm saying. Cook something, you know what I mean. Bring
some bread to the table. Let me know, man, everything's
gonna be out. Even though they say this about you,
I see this in you. You feel what I'm saying.
But majority of the girl be oh you got the hull,
you don't need me. I go through that every day.

(03:37):
You feel what I'm saying. Say It's like, all right,
tell the people who young flies you from the A.
I'm from the A West Side adam Ville zone. Folks,
stand up d DC stuff for the crew. You know
what I mean. All people might be a brother. Reach
your man. It's a lot of us out there, man,
the crew. What's popping? Um? You went to high school,
young thugra I went in the middle school. You don't school.
I went the price. Uh yeah, man, I'm from Atlanta, man,

(04:00):
you know what I mean. DC started up. I was
starting on Vine thanks to my boy fan and pay
On over the between the six of twenty and thirteen,
and I just went crazy everything. Damn man, I ain't
going crazy shot shout out to my label to our kay,
we is in the build. Yeah you wrapped too. Yeah,
I go crack. That was my four me to tell you,
I put up I number four. Man. I was doing
stuff before to comment and I mean, so what the

(04:21):
music wasn't sticking, so then you started doing the music
was sticking. I had it. I had a song and
went crazy in Atlanta. But he just you know how
some people live like Atlanta hard. It just when you
from that city, you know what I'm saying, a lot
of people not from the city come there and get
on before anybody from the city get on. It's just
to come and went so fast. It was just like
I'm like, all right, well, I just had I do
the music when I when I could do the music

(04:42):
right here. You know what I'm saying. That's crazy. You
said it though. It seems like everybody gets on from Atlanta.
Everybody gets on from Atlanta. That's not from Alana. Like
that might be true, but Trini that James not from Atlanta.
He I heard it from Kyle of Paul, But like
I said, like, I'm from Atlanta, So it's it's kind
of hard to say, like these people want any places,
not the fun. But but I mentioned him my boss.

(05:06):
You know what I'm saying, Like over there, what do
you like better than comedy of the music? Uh? I
like I like both of them because you can't really
that put one hundred percent in in in in one thing,
you put eighty percent in another. You see what I'm saying.
So I treat both for him as if whatever tomorrow

(05:26):
somebody called me, like, man, I want you to write
his off for me, Yeah, you can have. I'm right,
I'm gonna put my whole one hundred percent. I mean
I'll be doing be doing little something you know, measured
by what gets you the most host and the most money.
Guess what I'm tending both both. You got a lot
of people sometimes on Yeah, who was the first person

(05:46):
to go back at you? The first I want to say,
Kevin Durant. Kevin Durant, what he was just awesome. I
was just taking them out. You know what I'm saying.
They're going crazy on him, and he did like reposted,
I got my voice in the background he did, looking
like no, it's not funny. No, and then it went
just viral. Im im. I'm in California. I'm on a

(06:07):
vacation with my people. Are he may even feeling on
huson Yano the Hudson they were doing. They had a
little show out there. So I was just out there
just chilling because you know, I ain't never been nowhere.
So I was like, yeah, yeah, because you know I
ain't never been nowhere. You know what I mean. It
was work, but still vacation, you feel what I'm saying.
So I was just listening. I'm in the pool, but
again I just see people in gonna come kay. I
read my comments people. You know how we're you know,

(06:28):
you never know when the bad beaches being there, so
my comming, so I'm reading them all out. He you're
gonna let Kevin Durant do you like that? Gonna paid o?
Don't try me. Didn't. Then he just started off. Any
brother got into it. What you say about him? I'm
gonna bringing that out here. But I'm just saying that

(06:48):
he his his his, he got that Force Whittaker on syndrome.
He's hell because you know he got the bumps behind
his head. And I was just like he the modern
day Charles Barkley because he has no ring. Good player,
but has no ring. Yet you know what I'm saying.
I know it did, but that's that's my boy. That
my boy. If you're how to take a joke, were
family for life, or you're gonna learn that these artists
do not know how to take a joke. Well, once

(07:10):
you learn how to take a joke, were family, I'm
off your case for life. Now let me let's go
back to what I've seen about Bindly Cyrus. When she
was fifteen, she was didding a twenty year old and
actually her father, Billy races and said that he approved
of the relationship. And first of all, he's wrong. He's
dead wrong for approving it. She fifteen and he twenty, right,

(07:31):
that's who he was white one, Yeah, of course, yeah,
because if he was a black guy, I don't think
he would approve. Yeah. I think it's different than black
white coachure. That's what Tiger was trying. But I think
white people that's what they anybody when anybody why anybody
said for the camera, man, this not you're good. Yeah,
you're part of the mark. They parties. But I feel like,
you know, white people be doing that incense crep brother

(07:55):
be doing it, so all that's fine in them anyway,
We from the South, they said we would be hoping
all cousins. It wasn't like the third cousins, you know
what I mean, Like, you don't care out cousin. I'm
hitting my third cousin any times. If I say that's
your third cousin, Okay, cool, she's not part of the family.
Are coming third cousin? But now if y'all grow up
together as cousins, let me tell you something. Let me

(08:16):
tell you something. I got a cousin right now. They
about blood cousin. You know how you see your cousin
like every Sam eight years. So I saw it when
she was real ugly, like when we were three. Then
I saw it when I was like fifteen. I was like,
damn could Then I saw like Twitter three on, like
damn coud like cool, we ain't really got that relationship before.

(08:38):
I could just call you ugly like I would hit
you if I ain't know you with my cousin. But
you know it's your cousins, so you wouldn't. Yeah, but
you fine. You know everybody really find in your family.
You got somebody find of your family. No, you got somebody. No,
everybody considered ugly in my family. My sisters ugly like
that the ugly. But my cousin quit playing. So you

(09:03):
just smashed your cousin. I would have if I didn't
know she's my cousin. Yeah, madical. Let me tell you
the crapy part about I found on Instagram. I found
on Instagram. I was like, whould he be bad? So
I I hate the paid and I was like, damn,
she little for me. By the third one she took,
she had a picture with my MoMA. Oh, damn it, man,
So your MoMA and that's your cousin. No, actually had

(09:24):
a picture with my mama, And I was like, that's who.
That's who it was eight years ago. That's my cousin.
But what about the rest of your family now that
you're blowing up? Man, you can't call your family ugly? Yes,
my sister ugly. Bro, They trying to get on with you,
like one of my sisters, she callbably. She thought I
was gonna be a jackie, but now she like my

(09:44):
biggest fan. She thought you was gonna be a junkie.
A junkie, you was gonna drug or something. Man I
used to do like minda's and weed and saying the story.
But you know how used to a dope story, like
little bro, You're gonna go up to be a jay.
But now I can't even sneeze without her laughing. Little bird,
You're so funny. I'm like breaking out my favor. It
was you like the guy that used to get high
and make everybody laugh. No I would, I would just

(10:05):
make you laugh, appeared I would just get high because
of my own personal problems. You know that zone away
and just get geek. What are these personal problems? Well,
just you know when you coming from the hood, man,
it's really you see a lot of stuff going on.
You see your mom was struggling with with with the bills.
And you know what I'm saying, I'm grown You're really
First of all, I'm a grown ass man standing with
my mama. Then my mom was struggling with the bills.

(10:28):
Then you got sisters. She ain't got no brothers. I
got brothers, but they old on my dad side, like
you the only boy that grew up in the house,
grew up in the house, and you got sisters that
always you know your your your brother's gonna be like,
it's how good a little bro. We're gonna go out
here and get this money straight. But you got your sisters.
What you gonna do with you? Like here in time
to come around, you're still doing this. You don't have

(10:48):
no job or nothing. I mean it one fault age.
You know that. Well, I working a cycling house. I
got fired for dancing. I was talking like the dance
plank was the stage man I got. I got fired.
Then I had my first first real real job. I
was working in turn the field I was parking attended.

(11:09):
Don't you know. I worked my ass off. That's a
good job. First started stealing that. People called him No.
I thought about it, but I didn't add every time
about the window was down, I was like somebody trying
to set me up. Somebody trying to set me up.
But I didn't never do it though. But they fired
me in the rain. Why because it was first of all,
it was pouring down, raining like thundering. So they were

(11:30):
like everybody come in, everybody come in. So we came in.
They were like, you know what, go back out there
because the baseball players they're still gonna play. I said me,
I'm going home, like I'm going home. So I told
my manager what I was gonna doc. I felt myself
getting sick because, you know, black people in the rain,
We're going to house outside parking cars playing in the rain. Though,
you gotta go outside. It's morning rain, it's thundering, paying

(11:53):
I can't see like if it was raining right now,
I couldn't even see you. You feel what I'm saying.
And I was like, manager, I'm feeling myself getting sick.
I don't. I can't do it. I gotta go. I
goes in, don't. Folks are like, all right, give me
your name check? Oh like what happened. I'm one of
the hardest working show I got and I no give
me your name check. That's why I went it rang
only I stay in the house. I hate embraced you.

(12:19):
Early on, man Um, I admired Kevin Hart to the fullest.
I sell you going and I my dog man. He
was fun. I feel like I wanted to gram me,
how do you start? How that that start? I see?
I all I gotta tell people of this door was
when I was like at two hundred thousand followers on
Instagram and stuff. You know what I'm saying, I can't.
I would come to everybody, but I really didn't have,

(12:41):
uh something that that stabbed it. So that's when I
came up with the you mean and to bring that
ass here with everybody feeling saying a little before you do.
The op producer came in here was like, yeah, why
does he take Chris Brown stuff? I was like, Chris
Brown took this thump, point him out. I got something
for him now. So when I stabbed it, I was
just like, now I got something like you know how,

(13:02):
that's just like, okay, now I got a million followed.
If somebody was at three or four hundred thousand and
they're trying to joe me, it's like, okay, I see you,
but I'm I'm I'm I'm gonna put up a goal
for you, so if you reach it, then I'm gonna
come at you. I didn't let me know I'm watching you.
You feel what I'm saying, Yeah, I kind of got
that vibe like you not there just yet a little bro.

(13:23):
But once I see you reach a little turning point
in your life, then I'm gonna come at you. When
I got a million that Friday. I chilled that Saturday
and Sunday and I woke up. I ain't even brushed
my teeth, and I went crazy on him, and he
responding in fifteen minute, wow, fifteen minute and happy. I
was happy here. I was happy here. That let me know,
like this is not going to waste. You know what

(13:44):
I'm saying, Like I'm actually doing something, and you know
what I mean. So I just take it and I
just ran with it. Had other comics seemed like they
are well upset that he responded to you, like people
maths ain't gonna talk about that, Nick USh, I didn't
want to get in touch with you about doing Wild now,
Nick Cannon, man, that's my dog man. He just reached
reached out to my people on say the email and stuff,

(14:04):
and then we went. I went did the audition and stuff,
and it was just like, man, are you you already
fighting to do something? And I just wanted that and
I just did something, you know what I mean? And
then they called me back and they called me back
like probably a week or two before did the show's
post even you know what I'm saying, Folks have been
flying like everybody will called me. It was telling me like, man,
what about it? What about the wilding out? I'm still

(14:25):
working out. I did the audition. I'm still working you
know what I mean. Like, if they do, they do,
If they don't, they don't. It's just a great experience
even go through it, you know what I'm saying. So
they called me back and I'm going crazy saying we
tend shows in Wow, how do you like TV? Man?
Is it they're saying because a lot of people say
that people that are funny on the internet can't transition.
And I've seen I've seen a lot of I mean,
you got to think about it. It was a lot
of people audition and there was a lot of people that, yeah,

(14:50):
I get out of school for being a fool. So
you know what I'm saying, Then this is my personality,
Like I get to wake up being me, Like I'm
not uncomfortable during none of this, Like I don't have
to something times I'll be one or not. I don't
feel like being funny, like but I have grown up,
like even the days in school and I ain't feel
like being funny. I was gonna JOm you and was
gonna make you rose. So it's like, even when I

(15:12):
don't feel like being fun, I still know how to
be funny, hurt somebody's feelings for I have have who
like it was, it's only people I feel like, I'll
take it too far unless you gotta uh a sickness, yeah,
disability and lets you um that's about it. Yeah you
ain't got no sickness, then I'm on your ass. Uh

(15:35):
you can't. I clown at time, but I I people
keep telling me I gave him like one one and
like a little bum like you know what I mean,
like I'm trying not to, but I'm gonna poke you
one time then let you know, shut up, shut up,
but that my dog or you feel what I'm saying.
So somebody had to I had to took that laid
out and she had counsel. You know, you didn't know,

(15:58):
you know, you know some people some people be mad,
like people be sending me pictures and then people did
be like I didn't give you the right to use
that picture. I'm gonna see my people like men just
take it down, you know what I mean? Any thing
I'm like bro, that's all I said. Something's about your beard.
But I didn't even say nothing about you. I just
said some about you, stupid? How could that was it?
So I did take it down. You know, some people

(16:19):
be feminine, but you know it's all g But yeah,
anybody like what the seniors and stuff like with a
counsel later, like I had to let them know, like
I never do nothing to hurt people feelings. You feel
what I'm saying, what I do is just how it
was brought up. You know what I mean? That's this
how this hood comedy. It's it's comedy, but this hood
company like it's roasting. That's where I'm from. If you
don't know about roasting joan and ribbing or how y'all

(16:40):
ever do, That's where I come from. You know what
I'm saying, Like, ain't nobody just telling jokes on the block.
They're talking about your mama with the one arm, they're
talking about your dad and end up being a crackhead.
And it's like and if you want to fight, do
something about it. And if you don't, you better laugh
it off. Did you see this story about ray J
getting beat up by his girlfriend Princess Love. She broke
his ribs to his a y'all busted his lip, got

(17:05):
into it a little bit that while no, no, my
dogs said you ran up on rage and say, what's
this up here about you? Um cande man, not my
dog man, But I did hear he said, yeah bootygones
man and man. I talked about the booty goals and
I was like, I play you know I got booty
goals too, nigga crazy, But no, I ain't that crazy

(17:26):
for getting it's really broken in go bilding the beach out.
I wouldn't do it. You never had a girl put
her hands on you. I like that. I'd like a
girl to hit you. Yeah, I want to see can
you hit me? So? I want to know you tough
in these streets? Like hit me, hit me, hit What
do you do you just? Yeah? I say hit me.
Hit you Ever hit a girl back? No, because I
knocking her hands out like no, like it's partless you

(17:51):
know what I mean? Like I hate women who think
they can take a manly fist. You can't. Like I
promise you I'm gonna knock you clean out. What if
it'll give you a black or something or break your red?
First of all, I'm crazy enough for you. She has
to know that I'm crazy for you. Did not even
think that you can hit me to that level. You
know what I'm saying. The only reason why you hit
me is we get freaky okay, So that's okay for you. Yeah,

(18:13):
like hit me girl. I listened to a freak okay smiling,
I lows to do a freak man scribble in the
teacher line. In the teaching line, I wish you would.
I would have told the whole world. I mean, Jason

(18:34):
put it on read what nactor? Oh yeah, man, we're
going crazy. Oh we got a couple of things, you know,
while I'm not coming on. So you know, they're just
showing other people because people be calling like okay, you
see them on Instagram. But what else can he do?
You know what? Maybe a lot of people saying they're
like okay, I don't care, boy know too mean follow us?
Like what else can he do? You know what I mean?
I'm like, okay, I like that challenge. Come on, like

(18:57):
kep keep challenging me, just to show you. I like
proving even wrong you feel what I'm saying. So The
Wild and Out adds this summer and it's just gonna
show that besides the Instagram, I can also do it
on nothing to television to yeah, that's coming along. I'm
trying to get up solid four to five minutes and
it's gonna crazy you do actual stand up because I
see you whole stuff. But I don't know if he

(19:17):
was out there like yeah, but see, hosting just be
like building a cart and building my fan base and
um trying to trying to practice on how I cannot
can maintain the crowd and just you know what I'm saying,
control the crowd. You feel what I'm saying. I can
control the crowd, but it's just crazy coming from the hood.
It's like if I know you, then you know I'm funny.
But if I don't know you, I'm really scheming. I'm chilling.

(19:37):
I'm I'm feeling you out. You know what I mean.
I'm not gonna say nothing so you wouldn't know that
I was a goof ass dude, you know what I'm saying.
So by me being by me being in LA and
being a comedian, I have I had them open my
eyes and had to step out, step outside and just
be like it's not about me now, it's about putting
smile on people's faces and just doing it just because
because of the blessing that I'll be receiving. You feel

(19:59):
what I'm saying. So, yeah, when I was doing music,
you go about listen to my music female. They they
thought I used to hit female. I'm like, nah, well
now I do come but they just they just give
me the They just hand it. I'm like I should
have been doing. Then you on your Instagram setting it
up to you, like, look when I come to your city,
what don't stunt on me? I was. I was sticking
on Hio Bro on the way to New York. I

(20:20):
was sticking on HIOA. Okay, hire good time? Yeah, how
your mom on Mercedes? Yeah, already explain that. Man, you
still got dope money. Don't lie to me. Nah, I'll
be thinking about it though. How you want to go back?
I would like if I could get a print, I
get a print. Good the video up, Harry action and everything. Yeah, man,

(20:44):
I had I had two cousins at it for a
long period of time. Man, it was like, man, I
come in, mom a smile for for a long time.
You feeling what I'm saying. And she was just like
on some every day. It was like I'm praying for you,
like I got I put you in the lard's hand
you're feeling I'm saying. It was just I couldn't never
make a smile for you know what I'm saying. So
it was like not just the opportunity to the show, like, Mama,

(21:05):
you all that hard work and all that being on
me is finally paid off. You feel what I'm saying.
You ain't got to worry about nothing else no more?
You know what I mean? Huh, Because the only thing
you know, my mama, my dad was a past you
know what I'm saying. So the only thing she knows, yeah,
he passed on Christmas Eve two thirteen. Um, he was
I don't think she knows. The highest thing she knows
a Cadillac, right, you know what I'm saying. So it

(21:25):
was like, Mom, that ain't foreign catilet ain't forgn you
feel what I'm saying. So I had to take her
out of the pet Cruiser and put it in the
um in in the Mercedes, and now I got the
pizza Crewis that's an upgrade for me? Yeah? I had
a night of six four Escot. You still be driving
that though, no, I gave that to my nephew. I'm
in the Pet Crews, got you Now, I'm in the
two thousand seven Pet Crews and I gotta later on

(21:47):
this year brmas uls and you take the bench. I'm chilling.
I'm I'm chilling. I'm I'm I'm just driving a Pet
Crews man. Now I'm looking for a house, you know
what I mean. So we're trying to we're trying to
get up out of the hood. You know what I mean?
Young cool? Yeah, that's my bum. I mean cool. I
ain't go no problem with no about it. I don't
be for no about it. I don't be for no

On Purpose with Jay Shetty

On Purpose with Jay Shetty

I’m Jay Shetty host of On Purpose the worlds #1 Mental Health podcast and I’m so grateful you found us. I started this podcast 5 years ago to invite you into conversations and workshops that are designed to help make you happier, healthier and more healed. I believe that when you (yes you) feel seen, heard and understood you’re able to deal with relationship struggles, work challenges and life’s ups and downs with more ease and grace. I interview experts, celebrities, thought leaders and athletes so that we can grow our mindset, build better habits and uncover a side of them we’ve never seen before. New episodes every Monday and Friday. Your support means the world to me and I don’t take it for granted — click the follow button and leave a review to help us spread the love with On Purpose. I can’t wait for you to listen to your first or 500th episode!
