the Hurricanes and Morse So don't go anywhere as the
breakfast Club. Good morning morning everybody. It's dj NV Jess hilarious,
Charlamagne the guy. We are the breakfast club law on
the rolls of filling in for Jess. Let's get in
some front page news now. Monday night football, the Chiefs

(04:41):
beat the same twenty six thirteen. Their record is now
five and oh tonight the Connecticut son takes on the
Links at eight pm and w NBA now last name five.

Speaker 2 (04:50):
By the way, that's the game five, Game five's that's.

Speaker 1 (04:53):
The final game of that series. Whoever once that goes
to the WNBA finals that played in New York living.

Speaker 8 (04:57):
Now last night in baseball and the Royals beat the Yankees.
They tied us one one and the Tigers beat the Guardians.
They tied a series one one. Good morning, Morgan, Good.

Speaker 10 (05:05):
Morning, Good morning. That sounds like a lot of fun. Unfortunately.

Speaker 11 (05:08):
Right now, in front page News top of the Headlines,
we're looking at this hurricane, Hurricane Milton, as it approaches Florida.

Speaker 2 (05:13):
Now.

Speaker 11 (05:13):
President Biden is signing an emergency disaster declaration as Hurricane
Milton approaches Florida. It'll authorize FEMA and Department of Homeland
Security to use their resources for hurricane response. Now, this
is the second major storm in the past month to
hit the state after Helene. At last check, Milton was
a Category four hurricane this morning, with potential to strengthen

(05:34):
to a Cat five, with maximum winds of one fifty
five one hundred and fifty five miles per hour, and
it's forecast to make landfall late Wednesday or early Thursday.
Counties along Florida's west coast have been ordered to evacuate.
Over fifty are under a state of emergency. Fortunately, Milton
is not expected to have any major impacts. It's not

(05:55):
expected to have any major impacts on already battered North
Carolina as it can continues to deal with the aftermath
of Helene now. Meanwhile, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, he says
Hurricane Milton is a really, really strong storm that will
produce major damage. He says the state is ready to
have resources deployed to the expected hardest hit areas and

(06:16):
everyone on Florida's west coast should be prepared for major impacts.
Let's hear from Governor Ron DeSantis out of Florida on Milton.

Speaker 12 (06:23):
We have made a pre landfall declaration request from FEMA
for support and the federal government has approved a portion
of our request for pre landfall items, and we expect
the remaining parts of our request subsequent the landfall for
debris and individual assistance once the storm hits, will also
be approved. We have five thousand National guardsmen that have

(06:46):
been mobilized, will have before the storm hits another three thousand.
We're also deploying major heavy equipment to assist with debris removal,
and of course National Guard will be a big part
of any search and rescue that needs to happen.

Speaker 1 (07:01):
Yeah, Hurricane Milton is not playing in any way, shape
or form a Category four or five. In twenty twenty four,
with the way climate change the global woman has made
these storms stronger.

Speaker 2 (07:11):
It's going to be catastrophic.

Speaker 8 (07:12):
Yeah, people can't leave. They're saying that they're stuck. They're
saying that there canceled, they're saying highways are crazy. So
people can't leave. So definitely, pray for your family members,
Pray for anybody that you know that's going to be
affected by it as well.

Speaker 2 (07:24):
Yeah.

Speaker 11 (07:24):
So Penella's County Sheriff Bob wall Thieri. He says residents,
business owners, and employees with Barrier island re entry permits
will have access, but as of seven pm tonight, all
access for everyone will be shut down for those Barrier islands.
He also says, based on the magnitude of Milton, they
will arrest people who refuse to leave restaurants, bars, businesses

(07:45):
that are still open. Not to say it like that,
but maybe you know that could be a safer place
to be.

Speaker 10 (07:51):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (07:52):
Ye see what you're saying.

Speaker 1 (07:53):
In prisons, as crazy as it sounds, those jails are
good shelter.

Speaker 13 (07:57):
Yeah.

Speaker 11 (07:57):
Yeah, So recovery efforts and switching gears just a little
bit to Helene. Recovery efforts are still going on in
North Carolina. The death toll has climbed to more than
a seventy five, with western parts of the state being
hardest hit. Governor Roy Cooper says things are getting better though,
So hopefully this isn't one of those politicized situations. Governor
Roy Cooper, he's a Republican. Hopefully he is getting that

(08:19):
resources to his people in North Carolina. Let's hear from
the Governor Roy Cooper out of North Carolina.

Speaker 14 (08:26):
There is progress in North Carolina toward recovery. We're still
opening roads, We're still working to reach communities. We still
have search and rescue occurring as we speak. But we
know we know the people of North Carolina and will
pull together and that the people of western North Carolina

(08:47):
will recover from the storm.

Speaker 11 (08:51):
Yes, all, you have the last few comments to you guys,
I mean, what's going on with these storms? To your point,
Charlemagne is not to be played with. So if you
do know someone in those areas, you know, y'all need
to get to move on. I spoke to my neighbor yesterday.
She's in Tampa and they've been told to evacuate as well.
So wow, or my old neighbor, Yeah.

Speaker 1 (09:09):
I can't believe I think I was watching I was
watching that video yesterday of Kamala Harris who says and
Ron desantrs is refusing to take her calls about Hurricane Colleen,
Hurricane Helene, and I just can't believe you have politicians
who will politicize these natural disasters like mother nature should
be the most humbling thing for humans because Mother Nation
don't care what race you are. They don't Mother Nation

(09:29):
don't care about your sexuality. Mother Nation don't care about
your religion. Mother Nation don't care about your political party.
And there is nothing you can do but prepare for
the worst when one of these storms are coming. So
this should be the time where everbody should be coming together.

Speaker 11 (09:40):
That's right, absolutely, And if you live in Florida, you
need to hold your elected officials, local and state elected
officials accountable for these type of things. But I won't
get too much into that. That's your front page news
for six am. Seven am.

Speaker 10 (09:51):
We're going to catch up with the candidates.

Speaker 8 (09:53):
All right, everybody else, get it off your chest. Eight
hundred five five one oh five one. If you need
to vent, phone line to wide open again, eight hundred
five five one oh five one, call us.

Speaker 2 (10:36):
That's black and Holly favorite.

Speaker 1 (10:37):
Oh I hear.

Speaker 13 (10:38):
You, I hear you. So I'm gonna take I'm gonna
turn this from a negative to a positive. So I'm
gonna start with a positive. So I started a new
job yesterday for the City of North in finance department.
So all right, that was a blessing.

Speaker 2 (10:53):
That's dope.

Speaker 13 (10:54):
But I'm also wanted to express and get some advice.
My boyfriend of almost two years ghosted me. Ghosted me
because of, uh, because of certain issue we had and
and I'm gonna put him on blast because he needs
to wake up. Call his name Megs. He's from North

(11:16):
the city of North Brick City. And because what because
of someone in a short skirt all of a sudden
king and said, uh, tweet nothings in his ears if
you could pretty much say that. So you're gonna saw
away something that I holds it down when you were joblessed,

(11:36):
but I was. I kept it real with you. I
went through the good, the fat, the ugly and the
ugliest with this man. I did. I opened up my heart,
my family, everything, And this is how you're gonna do me.
I'm sorry, what was that?

Speaker 2 (11:50):
Churmad?

Speaker 13 (11:54):
Exactly? I agree, and it's and and I'm gonna keep
it around. It was good, it's good, so I'm not
gonna deny it. But hey, you know what, we're adults.
Keep it real.

Speaker 2 (12:05):
Know what did he leave you?

Speaker 1 (12:06):
Or did he just step out on you for a
second and now you don't want him back?

Speaker 13 (12:11):
No, he actually be right now currently I don't even
know what it is. Sharty made to be honest with you.
He he doesn't answer the calls, he doesn't want to
say anything. And what so I'm supposed to we.

Speaker 2 (12:23):
Wait, did he just bounce? No reason, he just bounces
one day, he woke up and he's just out the house.
Another girl. Oh no, no, no, no.

Speaker 13 (12:31):
The thing is is that, uh, supposedly the friend is
the best friend and okay, so he was like my
best best friend wanted to meet me. Okay, what is
her name? Avoided the question, never responded, so I atasted him,
be straight up, what's going on? Nothing? So I pretty

(12:55):
much what. He hasn't responded anything since Friday morning, and
he and he's the one that encouraged me to actually
move forward with getting this job. And I appreciate that.
That I appreciate one thousand percent. But when I was
when you were down and out, I was there. But

(13:15):
when I need your support, even though I don't need
a support from man or anyone, because I know who
I am or what kind of woman I am.

Speaker 2 (13:23):
But wow, well you said, it's just been.

Speaker 1 (13:26):
It's just been since Friday. So I mean, let's get
let's give it a moment. I don't we don't even
know if this guy's in trouble. He might be in
the hotpitals.

Speaker 7 (13:32):
Okay, you don't know.

Speaker 13 (13:33):
No, he's okay, touching me, trusting me, He's okay, he's real.

Speaker 1 (13:38):
Okay, Dan, Well, let's give it a minute. Let's see
what happens. Like you know, let me know what happens
by the end of the week. Call us back to
the end of the week and give us.

Speaker 13 (13:46):
An update and he's listening. He's listening.

Speaker 4 (14:36):
Whoa I've been what? I've never been ghosted?

Speaker 1 (14:38):
I would like when guys do stuff like that, especially
when you're an adult, when you don't just tell the
woman what's up and invite some versa just telling.

Speaker 4 (14:44):
Man, guys need a minute.

Speaker 3 (14:46):
I want to say, sometimes guys need a minute, and
I think sometimes well from my own experience, there's been
times where like I didn't hear it, and so we
told me I had to take a little minute and
then come back, and he.

Speaker 2 (14:56):
Probably told her, but she didn't hear it, and she
heard it the way she was want to hear her. Yes,
you heard it, you didn't want to hear. Get it
off your chest.

Speaker 8 (15:04):
Eight hundred five eight five one oh five one. If

Breakfast Club.

Speaker 2 (15:30):

Speaker 16 (15:32):
No, mother, I'm talking about the hurricane, Hurricane milsing down
here in Florida.

Speaker 2 (15:35):
I know.

Speaker 16 (15:36):
Morgan was like it's a category of four, but it
reached the category five last night around like eight pm,
and they said the max wins was like one hundred
and eighty five miles per hour. Man, So everybody in Florida, man,
y'all be safe. Man, y'all get prepared, get off the road.

Speaker 17 (16:07):
DJ NV Charlamagne? Good morning, Miss l Rossa? How you doing.

Speaker 1 (16:14):
All right?

Speaker 17 (16:14):
He listen yesterday I was first off, let me say,
miss le Rossa, you are doing a great job there
and in place of my home girl, you know, uh,
just as the mess. But yesterday he was talking about
your yeah, just hilarious. He was talking about uh, your
exploits with uh yeah yeah yeah, uh Delaware State and

(16:37):
you mentioned my man, my homie son kid meets you
know that name shall man familiar And I was like, yo,
who is that? And I remember that was my homie,
uh son that's doing this thing down in Delaware. But
he's also in New York. He's New York. He's out
of Queens, you know. So uh you know that. I

(16:58):
appreciate you shouting him out yesterday.

Speaker 4 (17:00):
Yeah, for sure, he was.

Speaker 2 (17:02):
He was.

Speaker 4 (17:02):
He did a really good job with the crowd.

Speaker 17 (17:04):
So that's great. That's great. You know, that's great. But
you know what, you're definitely doing a great job up here.
And Jess hilarious place. You know, I hope they have
you come up every now and then and you know
when she's out. But y'all keep doing y'all thing.

Speaker 6 (17:17):
Man.

Speaker 17 (17:17):
I love listening to y'all in the morning. Y'all have
a great day.

Speaker 2 (17:20):
Thank you. Hello. Who's this?

Speaker 17 (17:23):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (17:23):
Tony from Yeah, what's up?

Speaker 2 (17:25):
Tony? Okay, you now get it off your chest? Brother, Man,
I got a.

Speaker 6 (17:28):
Question for Charlo made Man. We get a question to
the Vice president.

Speaker 16 (17:32):
Man.

Speaker 6 (17:32):
I worked the structure I'm about I'm a wells about
trade man. That's what I do. And you know when
Donald Trump said he wasn't gonna take overtime, you know
a lot of people I worked with, uh, you know
they like to hear that. You know, we worked thirty
eighty hours a week. And I wanted him to feel
about questioning Famla Harris Carmela Harris about how you feel
about not taxing over time?

Speaker 2 (17:54):
How do how does she feel about not taxing over time?

Speaker 6 (17:57):
Yeah? Because you know she says she got a plan
to relate the middle classes. You know, we work a
lot of hours. You know, we work, you know, we
work these ourages and turn around. I don't know you're
familiar with it, but you know we we were in there,
we shut the power plass down. We work eighty hours
a week, you know, and not texting our overtime to
put another three four grand a month in our pocket.

Speaker 2 (18:18):
Okay, that's what I'm saying. That is a very valid question.

Speaker 6 (18:22):
And a lot of people I've worked with, and you know,
you always talk about you know, picking up a trade
and being a welder, you know, and a lot of
our people, man, that's what we want to hear. How
we're gonna keep our money in our pocket.

Speaker 2 (18:34):
That's right.

Speaker 6 (18:35):
So what I mean a stimulating the middle class? We
are the middle class. Rust workers are not working. They're
kind of me as bad because nobody's buying nothing, you know.
So I don't know, man, that that's gonna be a
hard one to the going in the in the vuet
boot and be like, oh.

Speaker 7 (18:52):
Yeah, Now she keeps saying she wants.

Speaker 6 (18:54):
To my family, my family voting for common you know
what I'm saying. So I'm not I'm not a Trufort porter,
but it's gonna it's gonna be a hard uh barget,
you know, to not go for that if you want
to keep money your pockets.

Speaker 1 (19:07):
Well, hopefully we get to ask her that.

Speaker 2 (19:10):
If not, you.

Speaker 1 (19:11):
Know, she's doing the View today, she's doing Howard Sterns
Show today, she's doing Stephen cobad show.

Speaker 2 (19:16):
Today.

Speaker 1 (19:16):
Maybe one of them is listening to us and they'll
they'll they'll ask that question, you know, before before one
of us get the opportunity to. But but how does
she feel about not taxing overtime? I think that is
a very very very valid question, especially for somebody who
has an opportunity economy plan like the vice president that
wants to rebuild the middle class.

Speaker 8 (19:32):
Yeh, because she keeps saying she wants to the rich
to pay their fair share.

Speaker 2 (19:35):
And I always wonder what that means.

Speaker 8 (19:37):
Does that mean that you're going to start taxing some
of those billion dollar corporations?

Speaker 1 (19:40):
That are exactly what it means. That's what she said, Okay,
exactly what it means. Okay, good, all right.

Speaker 8 (19:45):
I ain't mad at that because some of those billion
dollar corporations pays zero tax.

Speaker 1 (19:49):
I don't know if y'all saw the sixty minutes interview
that that was her answer, verbatim, like, you know, yes,
but you do that by taxing the most wealthiest amongst
us and those in those corporations.

Speaker 2 (19:58):
But I just wonder also how to efects.

Speaker 8 (20:00):
So if they do tax those billion dollar corporations, do
those corporations say, you know what, I'm gonna stay in
the US or do I go international with my work
where you know labor is cheaper.

Speaker 3 (20:08):
You know, they're gonna try to get around. But I
think that can't they create laws where certain things have
to stay.

Speaker 2 (20:13):
You can't make somebody stay here. That can that mess up?
I have no idea, but that's what Trump was saying.

Speaker 7 (20:17):
Trump was saying he wants more business to stay here.

Speaker 2 (20:19):
That's why a lot of those corporations got those tax breaks.
But get it off your chest.

Speaker 8 (20:22):
Eight hundred five eight five one oh five one. We
got just with the mess with Laura Roasters.

Speaker 3 (20:26):
Coming up, we do Miss Sissy Houston with the Houston's
mom passed away yesterday, so we're gonna take some time
for her, send a tribute out to her.

Speaker 7 (20:32):
All right, we'll get into that next. It's the Breakfast Club.
Good morning, the Breakfast Club, Good.

Speaker 2 (20:38):
Morning, everybody.

Speaker 8 (20:39):
It's the dj En v Jess, Hilarious, Charlamagne the guy.
We are the Breakfast Club. Let's get to Jest with
the mess with Lauren la rosa.

Speaker 2 (20:46):
Us is real.

Speaker 10 (20:47):
Whether it's Hilarius, just Ca Robbing Moore, just don't do
no lines, don't do that talk.

Speaker 2 (20:53):
Nobody talk those stations.

Speaker 1 (20:56):
World why Jess worldwide mess talk on the Breakfast Club.

Speaker 2 (21:00):
She's a coaching en Lauren Loros, I'm okay and I
got the met Timmy.

Speaker 3 (21:08):
So we want to take some time to Sunday. Rest
in peace and some love to the family of Whitney Houston.
Her mother, Sissy Houston, was announced last night that she
passed away. I spoke with a rep for Sissy Houston
who told me that she passed away at ninety one
years old. She was surrounded by her family in New Jersey.
In her New Jersey home. She was under hospice care.

(21:29):
She had been dealing with Alzheimer's disease for some time.
I believe I said she was ninety one years old.
But yeah, people know a lot of people know Sissy
Houston as Mississy Houston, as the mother Whitney Houston, but
she was also a very very successful gospel singer, a
gospel music legend, two time Grammy winner. She began singing
back in nineteen thirty eight. She collaborated with Beyonce, Luther

(21:51):
Van Draws. She's sun backup for Elvis Presley, Aretha Franklin,
Shaka Khan, Dion Warwick, Jamie Hendrick. So you know, she
blazed the iconic music trail of her own. So I
want to take some time to show her some love.

Speaker 1 (22:04):
What a blessing to live to be ninety one years old, man,
I would love to see ninety one years on this planet.
I want one hundred and one, but ninety one is
a blessing. So she lived a very long, full life.
Definitely rest in peace and yes family.

Speaker 2 (22:17):
Now.

Speaker 3 (22:18):
In other news, Kanye may be on his way to
another divorce. So Kanye and his wife Biankason, sorry, there
are reports out right now. TMZ has confirmed a story
that their two year marriage may be ending so right
now from multiple sources close there. Oh you don't want
to hear this from huh oh, I'm sorry, no, no,

(22:40):
no love for you this morning. This man that might
be going through you know, me.

Speaker 2 (22:45):
And doctor Umbar don't care. I don't get let me.

Speaker 3 (22:49):
Get let me, let me give you a story before y'all,
y'all send the last yes over here.

Speaker 16 (22:53):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (22:54):
So him and Beakas and story were married for two years.

Speaker 3 (22:56):
This is the woman that he got with after leaving
Kim Kardashian that everybody was like, oh, she looks just
like him all the time, right, she does, but she
has been a big part of the family.

Speaker 4 (23:07):
We've seen her out with North and the other kids
as well.

Speaker 3 (23:10):
Now, multiple people around this couple tell TMZ that they
are split right now and that they have been needing
to split up for some time. There are also reports
that Bianca took a trip to Australia to be with
her family since the split, and that Kanye it's playing
o yay, it's planning to go to Tokyo once the
divorce happens and be there by himself. Now he has
been seeing out over the last couple of months, a

(23:31):
couple of times without her. Normally they're always together. There's
no word on what prompted the split or who's the
one who actually pulled the plug in this.

Speaker 1 (23:37):
So listen, they were really married, you would know because
you worked at TMG and all that. Like, they really
had marriage licenses.

Speaker 6 (23:43):
All.

Speaker 2 (23:43):
I never knew they were actually.

Speaker 4 (23:44):
Married from everything that I knew they were, I yeah,
everything I knew that.

Speaker 2 (23:48):
Well, another relationship bikes to death.

Speaker 4 (23:50):
Okay, po Yer, Yeah, I mean it seemed like she
kind of helped. Yeah, we don't.

Speaker 3 (23:57):
We don't know.

Speaker 4 (23:58):
Poor both of them hold on her on both parties.

Speaker 1 (24:00):
Kanye seemed like the exhausting one. But once again he
and doctor Madel.

Speaker 2 (24:05):
Going through a lot.

Speaker 3 (24:06):
So yeah, well, yes, we'll be followed. It seems like
right now they're just taking a little break from each other,
so we'll see what happens. Yes, So speaking of taking
breaks right now, Holly Bailey and DDG, You guys, remember
we reported that DDG came out and made the statement
that they were not together. Right now that they are family,
they're going to you know, effectively co parent. Well, since then,

(24:27):
he has a podcast called Not an Ordinary Podcast, and
he's actually you know, been speaking out a bit just
to clear some things up. So, following their breakup, fans
begin to drag him online. Now this is not something new.
They were already dragging DDG. A lot of fans of Holly, Uh,
they feel like she's a Disney princess. She shouldn't be
with him, you know. So he deals with a lot

(24:48):
of that online. So he got online to address some things,
and he talked about the fact that that they are
regardless of what always going to be family.

Speaker 4 (24:56):
Let's take a listen.

Speaker 18 (24:57):
For a long time, people feel like I didn't belie
long the industry or the music industry and this and that,
especially me being with Halle, that she's a superstar, she's
the greatest ever being around her, I feel like it
made a lot of people sidhe ey me because they
had you know, she's a princess, so they already had
the mind set up about her and they look at

(25:19):
me and I don't fit that image.

Speaker 2 (25:21):
But it's cool.

Speaker 18 (25:21):
It's a reason why she stayed with me. It's a
reason why we had a child together. It's a reason
why all of this happened. Like me and Halle are
forever family. I will Swiss cheese your granny over Halle,
and that's just what it is. That's called family.

Speaker 2 (25:37):
I feel like the term.

Speaker 18 (25:38):
Baby mama does sound a little ghetto, so I like
to call it mother of my child. The mother of
my child is forever protected by me.

Speaker 2 (25:46):
Dropping the clues bonds with DDG. Yeah, stay focused, young man.

Speaker 1 (25:49):
After one thing in the conversation that I believe to
be very true that he said, don't forget they still family.
He's still the father of that child, that's still the
mother of his child. If you think at some point
in life those two won't be back together, your bucket.

Speaker 3 (26:00):
And I listen that when I watched the podcast. Because
I don't really know too much about him. I've been
to like his label had like a dinner thing for media,
and I went there and he was you know, he
was super sweet in person when I met him, but
I've always seen the fan trolls online. So I when
hearing him talk like this, I'm like, man, like, that's
a great support system for her to have. It's really

(26:21):
tough being young in front of people and y'all.

Speaker 4 (26:23):
Have a baby.

Speaker 2 (26:23):
He sees what youual and he seems evolved exactly like it.

Speaker 3 (26:26):
It's bigger than just what, you know, whatever they might
have gone on. But then he also got into because
a lot of people felt like, well he made this
announcement because they're both really public figures, so maybe he's
about to have another girlfriend or she's about to have
another boyfriend.

Speaker 2 (26:39):
So he talked.

Speaker 4 (26:39):
He kind of spoke to that as well too. Let's say, listen,
and I'm kind.

Speaker 3 (26:42):
Of thinking he might have met somebody already, or he's
ready to start dating and he's just trying to avoid.

Speaker 2 (26:47):
No, let me say that right now, y'all. I am
not dating anyone.

Speaker 18 (26:51):
I don't have a potential girlfriend, nor do I even
think about that whatsoever. I don't plan on getting into
another relationlationship add all, unless is Halle. That's the only way.

Speaker 2 (27:03):
I am not finna get a new girlfriend. I don't
have the desire. I don't want multiple baby mamas. I
don't want none of that. Were taking a.

Speaker 18 (27:11):
Break, Like I said, I'm finna go pick my son
up right after this. Let me live my life. That's
none of your business.

Speaker 3 (27:18):
That was another clip when I heard. When I saw
heard that response, I was like, he's carrying it the
right way. And I feel like they're going to shut
back together.

Speaker 10 (27:24):
But they're so young.

Speaker 2 (27:26):
And what a great way to launch your podcast.

Speaker 1 (27:28):
I mean, everybody talking about you, you know, forget going
somewhere and giving them the headlines.

Speaker 2 (27:33):
You got your own, your own headlines, You control your
own narrative, you know.

Speaker 1 (27:36):
Yeah, I love that and it's actually good when things
like this happen because you get to see who's for
you and who's not.

Speaker 3 (27:43):
You know, yes, so, And the podcast has only been
going for a month. They forty four point two forty
four point seven subscribers. But I mean DDG is really
good at this internet stuff, so you know, the numbers
are there, and he's smart about addressing things. And I
think there's been a lot of conversation online around them
too about why is he the one to speaking out
so much and not her? But I think she's always
been a person that's been kind of to herself, her

(28:04):
and her sister.

Speaker 1 (28:05):
I people say stuff like that, like like like we
be we be saying why doesn't this person say anything?
If you look at their history, they never say anything.

Speaker 3 (28:12):
Yeah, and he seems like he's the one that's willing
to you know, he's a shield. He's gonna jump in
front and take all of you know, because there's backlash
that comes when you speak out. So yeah, So, I mean,
I hope they figure it out. I think they're durable
with their kid online and listening to this podcast has
made me like him a whole lot. It's called I
said it wrong earlier. It's called no Ordinary Podcast podcast.

Speaker 2 (28:31):
Yes, DJ, who else? Who's the young man on there
with him?

Speaker 4 (28:34):
I'm not for sure who the young man on there
with him is. I know it's a friend of his,
but I'll get the name.

Speaker 7 (28:38):
Okay, all right, Well that is just with the mess
with Laura Laosa.

Speaker 8 (28:41):
Now when we come back, we got front page news,
and then the real Morris Chestnut will be joining us.

Speaker 2 (28:47):
I've never claimed to be more as Chestnut. It's just
that people in the street say that we I wasn't.

Speaker 17 (28:51):
Talking to you.

Speaker 2 (28:52):
I just said the real more, just nut. I don't like.

Speaker 7 (28:56):
To say nothing about you with More's chessn and I
just said the real More.

Speaker 1 (28:59):
You didn't draw it bearding right here? Touch anything unk missing?
I didn't touch anything. No, I'm not even joking. It's
a big piece missing, right, listen, there's nothing missing. It's
the same lion right read you see it right, I'm
not It's the same as Yes, you need to fire
your bable because he put a big chunk in your goodness. Okay,
you'll hate it, but like I said, look, the real
Morris chest that will be joining us in a little bit,

(29:20):
So don't go anywhere It's the breakfast Club.

Speaker 7 (29:23):
Good morning, the breakfast Club.

Speaker 2 (29:25):
Your mornings will never be the same morning.

Speaker 8 (29:28):
Everybody is ce j n V Jess hilarious, Charlamage the guy.
We are the breakfast Club. Laura la Rossa filling in
for Jess, and let's get in some front page news,
starting with some quick sports.

Speaker 7 (29:38):
To Monday night football.

Speaker 2 (29:39):
The Chiefs beat the.

Speaker 8 (29:40):
Same twenty six thirteen now in w NBA to Connecticut
Sun take on the Minnesota Link tonight at eight pm.
This is Game five and last night Bajor League Baseball,
My Yankees lost to the Royals for two. They tie
the series, won one and the Tigers beat the Guardians
and that series is tied one one as well.

Speaker 2 (29:57):
Good morning, Morgan, good morning, good morning.

Speaker 11 (29:59):
You know who else is signed up? Trump and Harris
in this race? It seems like they are neck and neck. Well,
let me get into this.

Speaker 10 (30:06):
VP.

Speaker 11 (30:06):
Harris is again saying she will pay for her economic
plan by taxing the rich. Now, while appearing on sixty Minutes,
the VP was pressed about how she'll get the money
from Congress to invest in small businesses. She claims she
has a lot of support to get her tax the
rich plan through Congress from congressional leaders. Let's hear more

(30:28):
from VP Harris in her sixty minutes interview.

Speaker 19 (30:31):
Well, one of the things, I'm going to make sure
that the richest among us who can afford it, pay
their fair share in taxes. You know, when you talk
quietly with a lot of folks in Congress, they know
exactly what I'm talking about because their constituents know exactly
what I'm talking about.

Speaker 11 (30:47):
So Republican critics point out that the top one percent
of income earners in the US earn twenty six percent
of all income and pay forty six percent of all
federal income taxes. Her appearents on CBS News shows show
come about four weeks until election day. Trump has consistently
pulled better than Harris on the question of economy in
terms of his handling.

Speaker 10 (31:08):
Now, I know you just had a caller not too long.

Speaker 11 (31:10):
Ago who asked about taxing overtime now the former president.
She and former President Trump have said they will not
tax tips, and Harris's plan does include tax breaks on
housing and childcare.

Speaker 10 (31:22):
As far as overtime, I'm not sure that she has
mentioned that just yet.

Speaker 11 (31:25):
This also comes on Monday, as Vice President Harris remember
the victims of the Hamas terrorist attack on Israel, saying
the world must never forget October seventh and make sure
nothing like the horrors of that day can ever happen again.
She repeated the pledge and always to ensure that Israel
does have the right to defend itself. Now she says
she will always work to ensure the safety and security

(31:47):
of Jewish people here and around the world. The Democratic
presidential candidate also said she'll work to reunite the hostages
held in Gaza with their families, and she'll never stop
fighting for the release of all hostages now Bhio, Ohio
senator and Republican VP hopeful JD.

Speaker 10 (32:03):
Vance.

Speaker 11 (32:04):
He was on the National Mall yesterday where he spoke
on the anniversary of the Ummas tack on Israel. Now
Vance said the incident was also an attack on the
United States. He says he and Trump support Israel, but
he is calling out Vice President Harris to secure the
release of hostages.

Speaker 10 (32:18):
So let's hear from JD Vance on that.

Speaker 9 (32:21):
Sadly, many Americans do not know the full truth of
the Holocausts, and many Americans do not know the full
truth of what really happened on October the seventh. It
is disgraceful that we have an American president and vice
president who haven't done a thing. Vice President Harris our messages,
bring them home, use your authority to help bring them home.

(32:43):
We believe that the Jewish state has a right to exist,
and Donald Trump and I will fight for that every
single day when we're in the White House.

Speaker 11 (32:50):
So the Ohio senator said, the only way too in
the wars to release the hostages of the Republican vice
presidential candidate says his ticket with former President Trump support
Israel's right to defend itself. That's what everybody keeps saying,
and to do what it takes to end the war.

Speaker 2 (33:05):
Any thoughts on that, I don't have thoughts on that.

Speaker 1 (33:07):
I have thoughts on what you was talking about earlier
with you know, Kambloa Harris on sixty minutes.

Speaker 10 (33:11):
Though, you know, and her economic plan in the taxing
and stuff.

Speaker 1 (33:14):
Yeah, I think I think one thing Democrats never scressed
enough is that since World War Two, the economy has
historically done better under democratic presidents.

Speaker 2 (33:20):
I think that they need to discress that more.

Speaker 1 (33:22):
And there are a lot of wealthy people who want
to pay more taxes, you know, like Bill Gates. Like
Bill Gates, you know, he said if he would have
paid tens of billions more in taxes if he designed
the US tax system. So he's a person that's saying
he wants to pay more taxes. So I think she's
right on the money when she says she wants to,
you know, tax the wealthy and taxes corporations, you know,
to help fund some of these things she wants to do,

(33:44):
you know, for the middle class.

Speaker 2 (33:45):
And I just thought I thought the sixty minutes combo
was solid all together.

Speaker 1 (33:48):
You know, it was edited weird, and sixty minutes was
putting his own narration over her answers.

Speaker 2 (33:52):
I didn't like that.

Speaker 1 (33:53):
I don't want to hear sixty minutes interpretation of their answers.
I want to hear their actual answers.

Speaker 11 (33:57):
All right, Well, speaking of actual answer, let's bring it
home to New York. Another high ranking member of New
York City Mayor Eric adams administration is resigning, and another
aid may be next.

Speaker 6 (34:09):
Now.

Speaker 11 (34:09):
Mayor Adams tells New York One that Deputy Mayor for
Public Safety Phil Banks is stepping aside. Banks resignation follows
several other top aids to step down. Let's hear from
New York City Mayor Eric Adams on philbanks resignation.

Speaker 1 (34:22):
He reached out to me and stated, Eric, I'm looking
to move on and this is a good time to
do so.

Speaker 17 (34:30):
Wow.

Speaker 10 (34:31):
Yeah, so he said. There are reports that will excuse me.

Speaker 11 (34:34):
Not that he said, but there are reports that Deputy
Mayor Sena Wright will also be resigning. Both Banks and
Wright had their phone seize by federal investigators last month
before Mayor Adams was charged with federal corruption. The mayor
has pleaded not guilty to those charges. And of course
this comes as more heads are rolling from the Mayor
Adams administration. Rayna Abasova, longtime Adam staffer who is, according

(34:56):
to the indictment of Mayor Adams, coordinated in proper straw
donations and luxury of travel accommodations for Adams and his campaign.
She's been terminated from her job Director of Protocol for
International Affairs. From her job as Director of Protocol for
International Affairs, she had been on lead from that position
as she's believed to be cooperating with federal authorities. In addition,
Winnie Greco, who's the Mayor's director of Asian Affairs, whose

(35:18):
home was recently rated by the FBI. She was also
let go, and one more person, Mohammed Bahi, of the
Mayor's Community Affairs unit, is also out. The move comes,
of course, as New York Governor Kathy Hochel applies pressure
for the city to.

Speaker 10 (35:32):
City Hall to just clean house.

Speaker 11 (35:34):
So even as all of this is going on, US
Democratic House Leader Hakim Jeffrey says that Mayor Adams should
not resign despite his recent indictment on federal corruption charges.
He's also supporting, saying that Adams is entitled to the
presumption of innocence and a trial by jury. But at
the same time Jeffries does says Adams need to articulate

(35:55):
a path forward to ensure the city is continuing to
function and run in a manner that meets the needs
of every day New York.

Speaker 2 (36:02):
Agree with Hakeem Jefferies.

Speaker 1 (36:03):
I agree with Hakim Jeffries Finally a Democrat with some
you know what I'm saying like that that what Hakim
said is exactly how it should be. He's innocent until
proven guilty, and he should not resign like like he
should not resign like I see everybody jumping ship around him.

Speaker 4 (36:18):
Cool, you know what I mean, they falling like pins
over there before.

Speaker 2 (36:22):
Yeah, he should not resign.

Speaker 1 (36:24):
Like once again, I've been saying this like when you
look at you know, everything that Donald Trump has gone
through legally and the fact that he's still able to
run for president and ain't nobody trying to push him out.
Mayor Adams should should should should be ten toes down.

Speaker 8 (36:39):
To and been saying that for the long if that's
what we've been saying, he should. He's innocent until proven guilty, right,
that's the law.

Speaker 10 (36:44):
Right, yep, absolutely absolutely.

Speaker 11 (36:47):
There is a mayor's poll that was recently released that
says that sixty nine percent of New Yorker survey do
think that Adams should step aside. But to your point,
I mean innocent until proven guilty.

Speaker 2 (36:58):
Well, that's because people didn't like Mayor Adam before, you
know what I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (37:01):
So it's not like he it's not like he was
a popular president, I mean popular mayor in New York
City before. So I understand people wanting him to step down.
And to me, this isn't about whether you like him
or don't like him as a mayor it's just about principal.
What's right now, That's what it's about for me. It's
just about principal. I think the principal says he shouldn't
step down right now.

Speaker 11 (37:19):
The principalities. That's it, all right, Yeah, all right, Well
that's your front page news.

Speaker 10 (37:23):

somebody came to me on the streets.

Speaker 2 (39:13):
I said, no, I wasn't on the street. You're right.
I was at a hotel, was at the valet and
one of the values said, that's what he said. He said,
look like Charlamagne. He said, yo, he said Charlemagne. I
don't know if he was trolling, but valet glasses, I
know he didn't have glasses, you know, but it did happen.

Speaker 1 (39:34):
It did happen, didn't That didn't go the way you thought.

Speaker 10 (39:42):
Fantastic?

Speaker 2 (39:44):
What roles excite you nowadays? Marsh in the game so long,
you know what, this role did excite me? Okay, it
really did.

Speaker 6 (39:51):
You know?

Speaker 21 (39:52):
The one thing I love? First of all, she's incredible.
I mean, she's incredible at what she does. Incredible actress,
I mean she he's incredible. But the whole production, so
the production starts, you know, with on ex Collective we
have you know, black female executives there, and then of
course Carrie Washington's company is producing Simpson Street, Simpson Streets

(40:13):
producing it top notch there Rama Mohammad black female showrunner.
All the scripts were on time before. I've never gotten
scripts on a show like that this early. I would
get a script we're like we was. We would be
on the second day of an episode and get a
script for the next episode that normally never happens. So
everything was topping. I didn't working with her in the cast,

(40:35):
this role did exactly.

Speaker 8 (40:37):
Now for people that don't know what is reasonable doubt
about because on season two, so if they don't know
what is it about break it down.

Speaker 6 (40:43):
You know.

Speaker 10 (40:44):
It's about this high powered, you know, black female attorney
you know who was about her business. You know, she
handles all of her business when she's when she's in
the office, when she's in court, you know, but she's
trying to juggle it. You know, she's a mother, she's
a wife, and sometimes you know, some of the balls
drop out of the air, you know what I mean.
She she fails at times, and she makes questionable decisions,

(41:05):
makes mistakes at times, you know, But it's about this woman.
It's about this marriage, this black marriage.

Speaker 9 (41:10):
You know.

Speaker 10 (41:10):
We get to see them trying to figure it out.
We get to see them making mistakes. We get to
see them, you know, really living their life in this
way that we don't often get to see on television.
Along with the courtroom drama of it all, you know,
we get to see her really in her element. Because
the show is loosely based on Sean Holly. Yeah, she's
a very high powered defense attorney in la you know,

(41:33):
and so we have all of those elements. It's a
good blend of the courtroom drama with the character driven
kind of piece.

Speaker 2 (41:40):
You shouldn't have that business in court is that the business.

Speaker 10 (41:43):
I mean, she does what she got to do anywhere,
anywhere and everywhere.

Speaker 2 (41:47):
Did you sit with Sean at all?

Speaker 22 (41:50):
Yes?

Speaker 10 (41:51):
Yeah, before we started filming, we you know, she invited
me to her home and you know, we sat and
we talked for hours. You know, I got to really
pick her brain about how she chooses the case that
she decides to take on, because that's the thing, you know,
we really I think nailed that in the show. With
the kinds of cases that Jacks chooses to accept can
sometimes cause issue with her friends or her family. You know,

(42:12):
why are you not defending black women? Why did you
choose to defend this man? And that's what Sean is about,
you know, and that's something that I admired and wanted
to know a little bit more about what goes into
her selecting the kind of cases that she chooses to represent.

Speaker 2 (42:25):
Is it hard to leave your character on set?

Speaker 4 (42:27):
Is it hard?

Speaker 1 (42:28):
No?

Speaker 10 (42:29):
No, I've learned how to just make the separation. I've
learned how to make the separation, and especially with someone
like Jack's, you know, she has a lot going on,
you know, so I'm faithful to just leave that there
and go home to normalcy, you know.

Speaker 2 (42:42):
I wanted to ask.

Speaker 1 (42:42):
Actors, like, when you have to play a traumatic scene, right,
like when Ricky gets killed in Boys in the Hood.

Speaker 2 (42:47):
Being that they played that so much on TV, does
that trigger you when you see it?

Speaker 22 (42:51):
Like?

Speaker 21 (42:51):
Do you feel that doesn't trigger me? One thing that
did triger me when I did The First Best Man.
It was the first time that I had to be
such an emotional space. When I did the wedding scene,
I was crying and I had to be in an
emotional space for so long. That triggered me for just
even thinking about it for at least at least five
to seven years.

Speaker 2 (43:11):
When you did the TV show See, I was See.
I had already you know, as an actor, I had
grown and I kind of let some stuff.

Speaker 6 (43:18):
You know.

Speaker 21 (43:19):
It's you know, as actors, you know, we use our
trauma in our pain to get there, so I you know,
I kind of worked on that, but it triggered me
for a long time on the First Best Man because
you ever.

Speaker 7 (43:30):
Get tired of it?

Speaker 2 (43:30):
Because Boys of the Hood was so long ago.

Speaker 8 (43:33):
Did you ever realize how impactful that was going to
be when you did when you shot it?

Speaker 2 (43:37):
I didn't. I didn't.

Speaker 1 (43:38):
I had no clue because when I when I, I
mean I was a lead in the movie that nobody
knew who I was, and no one knew who Cuba was.
You know, people knew who Ice Cube was, Angela wasn't Angela,
Nia wasn't Nia. I mean everybody was, you know, just
popping off. So I didn't think it was gonna be
that big. Now, that's interesting what you said about the
Best Man because to being a role when the TV

(44:00):
show came where in that iteration of it, you know
your wife was deceased. Yes, you had to tap into
that emotion of being a man who lost their wife.
How did you leave that at home? Well, so it's uh,
leave that on the set, right, Yeah, yeah, so it's okay.
So so that was the first best Man I had
that So the second Best Man was tough because she

(44:21):
was battling cancer and I had to do a lot
of emotional scenes then. So I've just learned to manage
kind of those emotions. I've learned to deal with some
of that trauma in a different way now. And actually
it's actually acting is pretty.

Speaker 21 (44:35):
Much therapeutic because you're able to release certain things and
so over the years, that's that's what's happened.

Speaker 2 (44:40):
Were you a fan of Reasonable Dout Season one?

Speaker 21 (44:43):
I was because I literally I was on I was
playing a Saturday basketball game and one of the one
of the guys there, he was like, oh, he said,
we normally after we play, he's you know, we talk
about stupid stuff, do stuff in the gym or whatever.
And then he just said, hey, you guys seen this
show Reasonable Doubt. And I knew about the show because
I kne Eli was on it and new AMIYASKI, but
I hadn't seen it yet. He was like, man, it

(45:04):
was just so odd to hear him say that on
the court. You know what I'm saying, And so he said,
you got to check it out, and so yeah, So
before I did the show, I was definitely fan because
I watched it because he told me to.

Speaker 3 (45:13):
And what was harder for you because Jackson's different season
one versus season two, what was the harder draw for
you as an actress, like pulling from the experiences.

Speaker 4 (45:21):
Was it harder for season one or harder for season
two for you?

Speaker 10 (45:24):
I think I would definitely say season two, just because
of you know, she's showing a lot more vulnerability as
a result of what happened in season one. Yes, you know,
so that just it required, Just like Morris was saying,
you know, I got to pull from some of those places,
you know, that kind of thing. So it was more
of a challenge in that way. You know, I had
to decide to open myself up.

Speaker 8 (45:46):
We got more with Morris, Chesnut and Miyati when we
come back, she don't move. It's to Breakfast Club, Good morning,
good morning. Everybody used dj abv jes hilarious, charlamage, the
god we are. The Breakfast Club was still kicking it
with Morris, Chestnut and and Mayati Coronaldi. Of course, Reason Doubt.
Season two is on Hulu everywhere. Now, Emma, you started
off in soap operas. Most people never leave that soap
opera world, but you.

Speaker 2 (46:07):
Did so cool.

Speaker 8 (46:08):
So break down the soap opera world and what got
you in the soap opera I will first, I want
to know how you got into acting. Because you're a
military child. Ye usually that means you're traveling all over
the place. Your parents are heavy into education. What got
you into acting From the start?

Speaker 10 (46:20):
It was something that I always loved. I always loved,
but I didn't know that it could be a choice
to be a career, you know, and for a long
time it was just fun, just a hobby. And I
thought that I had it planned, doubt. I was going
to go to law school. I was going to be
a lawyer. My father wanted me to go to the military,
but I said, Okay, I think I'm going to be

(46:41):
a lawyer. But in high school I had a girlfriend
who also wanted to be a lawyer, and we had
our whole plan. It was going to be Cornaldi and
Sweety incorporated, you know. But I realized, thankfully before you know, graduation, Okay, no,
I don't really want to be a lawyer. I'm not
trying to go to law school like she was taking
it serious and all out these SATs. I'm like, am
I doing all that?

Speaker 7 (47:00):
Is she a lawyer?

Speaker 2 (47:00):
Now?

Speaker 10 (47:00):
She's a lawyer now? And so we went in the
right path. I realized, No, I think I just I
liked the drama, like the suits and you know, all
of that in the courtroom. And so that's the moment
when I knew and I kind of started pursuing it
at that point. And this was in I graduated high
school in Jersey. My last two years were out there
in Kansas. That was all over the place, and then
went back to Jersey and really started studying and back

(47:23):
and forth up here to New York, all my off
off off Broadway classes and all of that, and then
that was it.

Speaker 2 (47:29):
That was it.

Speaker 10 (47:30):
And my first role was that that role in Young
and Arrest, and that was because that was my mom's show.
And she said to her, you know, that was me
making it. She says, you got to get him young
and directed run the Restless until Victor I said Hi.
And so the bittersweet moment about that for me is
because my mom passed before that happened, before she got

(47:51):
to see and so as soon as I got on
the set, I said, Victor, I just got to tell you.
You know, my mom just loves you so. And that
was a small that was a really small role, and
I think that's how I the reason why they get
caught up in it and staying there because it was
a small role, but it was truly one of the
most meaningful ones to me to this day because of that.

Speaker 4 (48:09):
That's so alarming.

Speaker 1 (48:11):
Your first your first scene, Mars is a sex scene.
Do you ever have to tell these studios not to
not to objectify you you heard MEPhI Man once say
he always, you know, pushed back against his sex symbol status.
Do you ever have to tell these studios like, look,
you know, I know I'm Mars Chestnuts. You can't be
a stunt double bro.

Speaker 4 (48:33):
We would know the difference.

Speaker 2 (48:34):
Or do you ever feel like it being objectified maybe
is a better question. I don't see that that way.

Speaker 6 (48:38):
You know.

Speaker 21 (48:38):
It's almost like because people sometimes they ask and they say,
do you get mad when people call you Ricky all
the time?

Speaker 2 (48:44):
When people see me on the street.

Speaker 21 (48:45):
And honestly, the one thing about me is that I
have never ever forgotten where I come from, right, and
and when I was an actor, just starting out, trying
to get an agent, just trying to get a part,
just say oh just please, somebody cast me.

Speaker 2 (48:59):
I just want to be I want to be known
so I can get more work.

Speaker 21 (49:02):
And so it just so happens that that role that
I was dying to get to be able to get
more work was a role that it was.

Speaker 20 (49:11):
It was.

Speaker 21 (49:11):
It was a blessing that it's still relevant and people
still refer to it to this very day. So now
just because people say Ricky almost every day, I'm not
going to turn around and say, oh, man, I hate
when people call me Ricky because I was so I
would desire it so much. So to your question about
you know, studios, I don't think they objectify me.

Speaker 2 (49:31):
I think that.

Speaker 21 (49:34):
I've been in the business a long time and the
younger Morris would not have imagined that he would be
here to this very single day after all these years.
So I'm just I'm just blessed and and I'm very
appreciative of the fact that they still want to cast me,
because in our industry, you know, no one really retires

(49:55):
from our industry.

Speaker 2 (49:56):
Our industry retires us.

Speaker 21 (49:57):
The phone stopped ringing, So as long as the phone
is still ringing, I'm gonna keep picking up.

Speaker 2 (50:01):
And I appreciate it.

Speaker 1 (50:02):
But it's one thing to be a great actor what
you are, but it's another to be considered a heart drop. Right,
It's only like a kind of like it's like Denzel Mars,
who else puts in that lane historically?

Speaker 2 (50:15):
Michael B. Jordan's Michael. He kind of say that I know.

Speaker 3 (50:21):
From Queen Sugar dark Skin, Queen sugarff is the he's
there down.

Speaker 2 (50:31):
Where we're at right now.

Speaker 4 (50:32):
But I think, honestly, you didn't.

Speaker 3 (50:34):
It's y'all level of It's like maybe two or three
that are to go to mainly you though, like you
get you do get a lot of the posts and
stuff online. A lot of them comes from Charlomy's Instagram.

Speaker 21 (50:46):
I think to the answer to that question is for me,
I don't. I don't focus on it because you know,
it's it's this is the type of industry. There's you know,
there's there's there's gonna be somebody else tomorrow, there's gonna
be somebody else the next day. So I just focused. Honestly,
I just try to focus on doing the best job
I can as an actor. With the job, and if

(51:07):
that comes with it, I'm appreciative of it. If that's
what people say, I'm appreciative of that.

Speaker 2 (51:11):
But I don't. I don't focus on that.

Speaker 21 (51:13):
I just have to focus on the work because that's
going to keep me here longer than being a you know,
if people consider sexy one.

Speaker 8 (51:20):
The real more is shusting up was the sexiest man
alive in twenty fifteen reasons. I got to say that
because sometimes he puts his face there and ask like.

Speaker 2 (51:26):
I've never done that. But if you wanted to call
him the sexiest man alive. That's fine. And if you
want to use me to do that, fine, I've never
done that, y'all.

Speaker 8 (51:40):
I was going to ask, how did you and your
wife deal with it all, you know, with women hollering
when you're allowed in the comments?

Speaker 1 (51:46):
How does she how does she handle it? Well, I mean,
my wife is a star in our family, for sure.
I mean she's the one that I mean, she's a
star in the family, and she does and I'm a homebody,
I'm home all the time, and honestly, the old I've gotten,
you know, I mean, she's she's just not even.

Speaker 21 (52:04):
She's not stressed by it. She's not even. She's just
not she's not really interested in the industry. She's it's
like we've been together a long long time and so
you know, she knows what it is. You know, I'm
not going nowhere, hopefully she's not going anywhere. But uh,
it's she's she's cool with it. What about your kids,
that's a that's an interesting question. We've never really had

(52:24):
the conversation about it. My son has made has made
comments about it.

Speaker 2 (52:28):
Does he have jokes?

Speaker 21 (52:29):
No, No, he doesn't. He doesn't. He doesn't, he doesn't
have jokes. He doesn't have jokes about it. Well, so
that's a good question.

Speaker 6 (52:40):
We have.

Speaker 21 (52:41):
We have my son, and my son's uh twenty six
years old right now, you know, twenty He just turned
twenty seven, and we just basically have a lot of
father son conversations. And my conversations are more gears towards
preparing him for life and and and trying to get
him to see the world from different perspectives, primarily from

(53:03):
a from a business perspective, a young man who's gonna
be takeing care of a family perspective. And he'll make
comments just in terms of when I'm trying to explain
certain things to him how things go in life.

Speaker 2 (53:17):
He feels.

Speaker 21 (53:18):
Sometimes he'll make a comment like, well, you haven't had
to deal with such and such because such and such.
You know, but you know, and I keep having to
tell him, I keep it having to remind him that,
you know. I you know, I slept in the room
with my brother till we went to college, and we
couldn't even open the door. It was so tight in
the room. We had bunk bands with put the bunk

(53:39):
beds down. We couldn't even open the door. So I
didn't I didn't. I wasn't born into this, you know.
And so there's a lot of discipline and hard work.
So that has and a blessing you know from God.
But discipline, hard work that has me where I am today.

Speaker 8 (53:53):
I we got born with Morris Chestnut and mit cardinality.
When we come back, don't move us to Breakfast Club
the morning morning everybody is dj NV just Hilarius, Charlamagne
the God. We are to Breakfast Club, Law on the roster,
feeling in for Jess and we're still kicking it with
Meat Cornalvi and Morris Chestnut. Of course, reasonable doubt. Season
two is on Hulu now, Charlamagne.

Speaker 2 (54:14):
What did y'all two learn from each other on set?

Speaker 6 (54:17):
Oh?

Speaker 10 (54:17):
Well, I would say I definitely learned.

Speaker 6 (54:20):
You know.

Speaker 10 (54:20):
When they asked me how I felt about Morris coming
on to the show number one, I was just excited.
I mean, it's Morris the Chestnut, you know. I mean,
it's true, you know, just it's just he brings a
level of professionalism and ease, but yet very just approachable
and and kind and giving, you know what I mean,

(54:42):
in a way that you just may not expect for
someone who's been in the business. For so long for
someone who knows that they have this particular status, you
know what I mean. But he didn't have any of that,
you know, so I definitely just appreciated and respected that
you know about you.

Speaker 2 (54:58):
And I appreciate.

Speaker 21 (54:59):
So the one thing you know on a set, the
number one on the call sheet is the heartbeat of
the set. The set goes, how the number one goes.
If the number one is not feeling good today, the
set's not gonna have a good day. If the number
one is not a good person, it's not a set
that you want to be on. She is literally one
of the best number ones that I've ever worked with.

(55:20):
She she I mean, this is is so hard because
when you're when you're when you come to a set,
you know, we have the scenes, we have our lines,
and we and we have to worry about our character.
And she knew everybody's name on the set, everybody's name.
And I've been on set, I've been on set right
now for six months. I still only know probably about
seven names out of like one hundred people. And that
was just so impressive to me, and and it was

(55:43):
really she was really inspiring to me, just to see
how she was doing that, and she made me mad
one day because I always like to be when they
call us the set, I like to be the first
one there. And she beat me one time. I said,
I can't have that. I cannot have her beat me
to set because I gotta be there. Yeah, I said,
I got, I.

Speaker 2 (55:58):
Can have that.

Speaker 21 (55:59):
So she's just in everything that she does, and she
with all of that. You know, she had her daughter there,
she's taking care of her daughter, she has you know,
she's carrying the load on this show. She did it
so gracefully, eloquently and just an incredible actress. So I
just have a huge She's inspiring there.

Speaker 7 (56:15):
Somebody you're talking about number ones?

Speaker 8 (56:17):
Is there somebody that you say, no matter how much
they pay you without saying names, that you just won't
do a movie with them because they just don't act right?

Speaker 10 (56:24):
Oh no, no, no, because someone popped into my head.
But I don't that's just based off of what you hear.
I don't know, you know what I mean, I don't.
I can't judge someone based on that, So no, I
wouldn't say that.

Speaker 7 (56:39):
Morrison.

Speaker 2 (56:40):
Oh oh yeah, I have I have one, you know, Yeah,
he doesn't.

Speaker 21 (56:48):
I'm not sure if he's I don't think he's done
anything too much lately, but yeah, it's Yeah, it can
be really really really bad set. It's just not a
good it's not a working it's not a free working
environment to be an artist when you have everyone walking
on eggshells and this person just dictates the whole mood,

(57:11):
just the of the set, and it just makes it
so challenging, not even to just do your job, just
to even be there because we spend twelve thirteen hours
a day.

Speaker 2 (57:22):
It's like a family. You know, you spend more time
on set than you do your family.

Speaker 4 (57:25):
So yeah, I mean, I say, I have a question
for you.

Speaker 3 (57:28):
I had heard Erica Alexander talk about how when black
women play strong roles on TV, it boxes them in.
It's like a good thing because your representation, but it
can be a bad thing because it boxes you into
this like you always have that power, You always have
to be tough and rough.

Speaker 4 (57:41):
Do you think about that when you're picking roles?

Speaker 3 (57:43):
I know, because Jackson's becoming a household now household em
now like people love the show, do you think about that?

Speaker 4 (57:48):
Do you think how that will affect you? Has that
been you know something you and your team I talked about.

Speaker 10 (57:53):
You know, I understand what she's saying about that because
that is you know, it's almost can even be a
stigma even that's upon us as black women. But it's
not something that I think about because there's an element
of it that is true. It's there. We are strong.
We've had to be strong for so long for so
many reasons. So you know, it's not something that I
feel like I have to lead with or something that

(58:14):
I have to be cognizant of because I don't. It doesn't,
it doesn't, It doesn't bother me in that way, you
know what I mean? And so I think I do
choose roles, not necessarily. If I see a role and
it says, okay, she's a strong woman, that would have
you you know, I know I'm going to put my
own spin on it, and I may not feel like
she's strong in the way that they think she's strong,

(58:37):
you know what I mean, So I can make a
different interpretation interpretation on it.

Speaker 1 (58:41):
Gotcha, Well, I know y'all got to go. So I
got to my final question. Other than when I'm around Mark,
do you have a walk in the room and say
I'm the most handsome man.

Speaker 10 (58:51):
No, no, I say that one day when we will.

Speaker 6 (59:01):
That.

Speaker 7 (59:02):
You're in the family Feud video, right jay Z's family, Yes, howl.

Speaker 2 (59:05):
How would you cast for that?

Speaker 7 (59:06):
Are you cool with the family?

Speaker 10 (59:08):
Ava? I think that's how we met.

Speaker 4 (59:13):
We met at a house.

Speaker 2 (59:16):
Yeah, we did. It was when you were there. I didn't.

Speaker 16 (59:22):
I didn't.

Speaker 10 (59:28):
Yeah, something like that, young watching the movie or something
and the fight.

Speaker 2 (59:34):
Was That's what it was.

Speaker 10 (59:35):
But yeah, that's how that came about. But Ava was
the director.

Speaker 2 (59:38):
Yeah, at well, we appreciate you. I know you guys
got to run doubt.

Speaker 21 (59:41):
I want to say something to you guys. I really
appreciate what you guys are doing for the culture. I mean,
I see the guests you guys have on to see
the topics that you guys talk about, and I appreciate
what you guys doing because, especially now in our.

Speaker 2 (59:52):
Community, you talk about therapy a lot.

Yeah, you like you know when you be like, do
you got a brother and you be disappointed when he
brings to Charlottage.

Speaker 2 (01:00:59):

never do is break my soul. All right, okay, morning.

Speaker 7 (01:01:14):
I said, salute to Morris Chestnut and Miazi for.

Speaker 1 (01:01:19):
He told you.

Speaker 2 (01:01:19):
I thought he was saying fine and Asian or something.

Speaker 1 (01:01:22):
You called him fine and Chinese Luthermor's chestnut for being
talking about man Yo, yesterday, hold on, I gotta tell
you this story. We were sitting in the room after
Marrow's chestnut and eat he left, and Envy just for
no reason. Everything was quiet. We were just in him
minding all, and all of a sudden, he goes, they

(01:01:44):
both look good.

Speaker 17 (01:01:45):
He's like, what.

Speaker 4 (01:01:51):
It came out of nowhere?

Speaker 8 (01:01:52):
But you were sitting and pondering because the brother Morris
Chesnut is fifty five years old.

Speaker 2 (01:01:57):
Envy, you said it, and I'm like, they look right
for like.

Speaker 4 (01:02:00):
You ponder, like you can sit and ponder the.

Speaker 2 (01:02:04):
Wow wow over the break bricked up as wild. They
looked great. For the bro you was over there, wives Wood,
are you talking about they both look good? That's what
you said? Brood? Yeah, my brother is fifty five years older.
Sisters like forty five, twenty. We need it older than her.
I said, they look good. I can't say somebody look good.

(01:02:25):
He's fifty five.

Speaker 4 (01:02:26):

what your ad at her and because.

Speaker 2 (01:04:08):
They're all on the same song. It's called right Now Now.

Speaker 3 (01:04:11):
Listen a year ago about Glorilla was on the carpet
at the Grammys and Kirk Franklin was interviewing her.

Speaker 4 (01:04:16):
Let's take a listen, so you asked before a like
like the songs.

Speaker 2 (01:04:32):
I am so happy for her, Gloria hallelujah.

Speaker 3 (01:04:34):
I am so happy for it, and I know the
music is going to be great. But she Glorilla, ever
since she's come out, she's been the person I think
all of us is route for.

Speaker 4 (01:04:42):
You just want everything to work out.

Speaker 2 (01:04:43):
For her brother.

Speaker 1 (01:04:44):
Of all, she's very dope as a rapper. And all
I'm going to tell you is Glorrilla album's top tier. Now,
you talk to a person who listens to a lot
of Glorilla, and a lot of people put out a
lot of music right before their so called debut album
drops and it's just regular. No, Glorilla definitely elevated her
art on Glow Wars and that's all I'm gonna say.

Speaker 2 (01:05:01):
I'm excited to Glow.

Speaker 3 (01:05:02):
I'm excited to hear it now. In other news, Diddy News,
we while we haven't done Didny like what the two
days we.

Speaker 2 (01:05:09):
Did did yesterday, Molly Dan, I never did Diddy. See
that's how people get it. Died right there.

Speaker 1 (01:05:14):
I never did Diddy A damn my goddamn life. Now
if you want to admit that you did Diddy.

Speaker 2 (01:05:17):
Said Diddy News.

Speaker 3 (01:05:19):
No, you've been hearing what you want to hear over there,
so nervous. I don't worry, Charlotte. This one's for you
because they're talking about the people that may pop out,
and you know some of these little.

Speaker 2 (01:05:30):
Take I can say that without the shadow out.

Speaker 3 (01:05:34):
So Tony Busby, who was the attorney that is representing
the over one hundred and twenty people that did that
big press conference. He did an interview with Law and
Crime and Long Crime is that team that network that
like shows all the cases live in the court, and
he told them that twelve thousand people called the hotline
that they set up for Diddy for Diddy accusers within
twenty four hours.

Speaker 2 (01:05:54):
Of course they did, because you put it on the internet.

Speaker 7 (01:05:58):
They're gonna say anything they possibly could.

Speaker 2 (01:05:59):
Say that did not even have people planing.

Speaker 1 (01:06:01):
I'm not saying that there's not real uses and there's
not real there's a lot, but there's probably more people playing.

Speaker 2 (01:06:06):
That's what I said last week.

Speaker 4 (01:06:08):
So listen.

Speaker 3 (01:06:08):
TMZ did an interview with them and they got into
this as well, because they want to know how do
you vet all of this A say, A listen and
you were.

Speaker 23 (01:06:13):
There in the room, or you participated, or you watched
it happen and didn't say anything, or you helped cover
it up.

Speaker 2 (01:06:19):
In my view, you have a problem. As we file
each one of.

Speaker 23 (01:06:22):
These cases, we're going to make an effort to resolve
them on the front end, but failing that, we're going
to file public lawsuits and pursue these cases aggressively, So who.

Speaker 2 (01:06:32):
Will be named, when they will be named?

Speaker 23 (01:06:34):
All that will come out and do course, all of
these individuals and entities, in my view, have exposure.

Speaker 24 (01:06:39):
Here are we talking about celebrities on the level of
ditty I would expect so, yes, But there are also
people who want to jump on the gravy train and
want to make money, and that's got to be a
big slice of what you're getting.

Speaker 23 (01:06:53):
You know, you get thirty two hundred calls and that
turns into one hundred sum odd clients. I think you
see the process that we're in. We're doing a lot
of vetting, a lot of due diligence.

Speaker 2 (01:07:03):
What's the process? What's the vetting process?

Speaker 7 (01:07:05):
If I was gonna say, does he have that much
staff to do that much vetting? Like thirty two hundred
people calling, thousands of people.

Speaker 4 (01:07:11):
Going, I'll try and find out and figure that out.

Speaker 2 (01:07:13):
That's a lot.

Speaker 1 (01:07:14):
I'll try and figure that out. Yeah, let's let the
record show. He said if you was at the parties,
you had a problem.

Speaker 2 (01:07:21):
I told y'all.

Speaker 1 (01:07:23):
I told y'all this two weeks ago. And if you
ever was around any of this stuff, you know, you
probably gonna have a problem. There's only one president in
this room who's been to a ditty party.

Speaker 2 (01:07:29):
It's not me. I've been.

Speaker 3 (01:07:31):
I've been, but I don't know about none of that
crazy stuff. So once I was, that was just a
regular day party.

Speaker 2 (01:07:36):
I don't know. Subpoena, Larros, subpoena can me.

Speaker 4 (01:07:42):
It's over, wrap it up, It's time to go.

Speaker 2 (01:07:44):
You want to finish.

Speaker 7 (01:07:45):
You was gonna say something else about it?

Speaker 4 (01:07:46):
Did I was just going to say I had a
similar numbers.

Speaker 3 (01:07:49):
They said in a ten day period they got thirty
two hundred calls, and then after the press conference they
received the twelve thousand costs.

Speaker 2 (01:07:55):
How do you exactly come on? Can't society? Once again?

Speaker 1 (01:08:00):
I'm sure that there's real alleged victims and there's there's
real alleged accusers. Right, well, no, there's real accusers and
alleged victims. That's the proper wording. But if you do
a press conference and you tell everybody that there's a
one eight hundred didty rate me hotline, you're going to
have people calling the hotline plane. Yes, how do you
vet that there's people calling and taking themselves to see

(01:08:21):
if they got through?

Speaker 4 (01:08:22):
Did you try to call?

Speaker 9 (01:08:23):
No?

Speaker 2 (01:08:25):
Did you know what I call.

Speaker 4 (01:08:28):
I was just making sure Charlotte was all right.

Speaker 2 (01:08:30):
You good m Let's get to the donkey today. Who's
give me a donkey to this morning?

Speaker 1 (01:08:34):
For after the hour, we need Marjorie Taylor Green to
come to the front of the congregation. We'd like to
have a word with her.

Speaker 7 (01:08:38):
All right, we'll get to that next. It's the Breakfast Club.
Good morning, you're checking out the Breakfast Club.

Speaker 2 (01:08:44):
This is a miracle.

Speaker 13 (01:08:47):
There is no question that there are problems in this
country between police and community.

Speaker 2 (01:08:53):
Yes, you are a donkey. The latest on that police
killing of a black man?

Speaker 7 (01:08:58):
No, how do new developments in the death spats shooting rampage?

Speaker 2 (01:09:01):
Then, yes, it was a really bad day for.

Speaker 10 (01:09:02):
Him and this is what he did.

Speaker 4 (01:09:03):
And so we are in a state of emergency.

Speaker 1 (01:09:07):
Okay, White supremacist violence, it is always have been the
number one threat to our society. But I'm also very
proud that my wife was White's the practice club, bitches, chnny.

Speaker 10 (01:09:18):
Please tell me why was I your.

Speaker 2 (01:09:20):
Donkey of the day.

Speaker 1 (01:09:22):
Donkey today for Tuesday, October eighth goes to the bleached, blonde,
bad built, busch bodied congresswoman from Georgia Marjorie Taylor Green. Yes,
then mayonnaise is heavy with this one. Oh, a human
Jara Hellman's.

Speaker 2 (01:09:33):
Is upon us.

Speaker 1 (01:09:34):
It's safe to say Marjorie Taylor Green is about as
mooney as a Batman building, right, I mean she would
be a platinum member at Arkham Asylum.

Speaker 2 (01:09:40):
Correct.

Speaker 1 (01:09:41):
Well, today Marjorie Taylor Green is getting the credit she
deserves her being stupid because she just refuses to deal
with reality. Okay, in this case, we all have seen
the devastation. Hurricane of Leena has caused over two hundred
confirmed deaths, destruction of homes, damage the infrastructures to be
a flooding.

Speaker 2 (01:09:55):
It's just all bad.

Speaker 1 (01:09:56):
And what I don't understand is politicians who will politicize
these natural disasters. Some things should be bigger than politics.
I saw the Vice President Kamala Harris say Ron DeSantis
won't even take her calls in regard to Hurricane Helene,
and I just don't understand that the same way I
don't understand what Marjorie Taylor.

Speaker 2 (01:10:14):
Green is saying.

Speaker 1 (01:10:15):
See, Mother Nature should be the most humbling thing for humans, okay,
until extraterrestrials come.

Speaker 2 (01:10:21):
Because Mother Nature doesn't care what race you are.

Speaker 1 (01:10:23):
She don't care about your sexuality or religion, your political party.
Mother nature is one of the few things that should
bring people together. It's one of the few things that
should make us realize in the grand scheme of things,
we are tripping focusing on our differences instead of focusing
on what we have in common. Because in those moments
when a category four, a category five hurricane is about
to impact your town, you all have one thing in common,

(01:10:45):
and that thing is survival.

Speaker 2 (01:10:48):
That's it, nothing more, nothing less.

Speaker 1 (01:10:50):
And when you are busy trying to survive mother Nature,
the last thing you want to hear is someone like
Marjorie Taylor Green pedaling conspiracy theories about why what is
happening is happening.

Speaker 2 (01:11:00):
That's exactly what Marjorie Taylor Green did. Let's go to
ABC ten for the report police.

Speaker 25 (01:11:04):
And tonight we're looking into a story getting a lot
of buzz in the last twenty four hours, A claims
Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Green is applying Democrats caused Hurricane Helen
to harm Republicans and.

Speaker 2 (01:11:16):
Focus on is true.

Speaker 25 (01:11:17):
Last night, Green wrote on X quote, Yes, they can
control the weather. It's ridiculous for anyone to lie and
say it cannot be done. While she didn't say exactly
who they are. The post came just hours after Green
posted this map showing the political lean of the areas
impacted by the hurricane, and as you can see, there

(01:11:38):
is definitely more red than blue. Green has pushed many
conspiracy theories in the past, including some which have been
called anti semitic.

Speaker 1 (01:11:47):
Marjorie Taylor Green says she doesn't believe in climate change,
but if you tell her the weather it's controlled by
the Illuminati, then all of a sudden, she's a meteorologist
who knows Day control the weather. Who the hell is Day?
That is always the question? Okay Day?

Speaker 2 (01:12:00):
Dj called used to talk about, is it today?

Speaker 1 (01:12:03):
The LGBTQ community talks about, you know, that confusing pronoun stuff.

Speaker 2 (01:12:07):
Who is Day?

Speaker 1 (01:12:08):
Okay, Marjorie. If you're gonna make a claim like this,
at least say who they is. Real conspiracy theorists say
names like Heart.

Speaker 2 (01:12:16):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (01:12:16):
If you would have said Heart controls the weather, tenfoil hat,
Twitter would have crowned you, queen.

Speaker 2 (01:12:21):
Maybe they still did because of these comments.

Speaker 1 (01:12:23):
I don't know, but the reason Marjorie Tailer Green is
getting donkey of to day is because when you make
claims like this.

Speaker 2 (01:12:28):
It throws a middle finger to science.

Speaker 1 (01:12:30):
Not just science, it throws a middle finger to reliable
sources of information okay, leads people to believe in folks
foolish feelings as opposed to actual facts. And what should
really piss us off is when Marjorie Taylor Green spews
rhetoric like this, it distracts from real conversations we should
be having about a climate change and be how to
prepare for these natural disasters. Do you understand how difficult

(01:12:52):
it is to get people to care about the truth nowadays?
We are in an era where facts don't change most
people's opinions because those people don't use facts to form
their opinions.

Speaker 2 (01:13:02):
They use their opinions to form their facts.

Speaker 1 (01:13:04):
So when a congresswoman like Marjorie Taylor Green starts throwing
around not as conspiracy theories like they control the weather,
you're just misinforming the public and your constituents.

Speaker 2 (01:13:14):
But you are also just simply undermining real science. And
we will never ever.

Speaker 1 (01:13:20):
Solve the problem of climate change if we can't even
admit that climate change is real. And the news has
to stop giving stuff like this oxygen because it's prejudic
the foolishness more than it suppresses it.

Speaker 2 (01:13:29):
I'll let you hear ABC ten earlier. Let's listen to MSNBC. Now.

Speaker 22 (01:13:33):
The death told from Hurricane Helene is now more than
two hundred people, two hundred and twenty people, while hundreds
of others remain unaccounted for.

Speaker 2 (01:13:41):
Such tragic figures.

Speaker 22 (01:13:43):
Didn't stop didn't stop some of the extreme members of
the Republican Party from gas slighting the American public about
the cause of the storm, with Marjorie Taylor Green tweeting
and die quote, yes, they control the weather. It's ridiculous
for any one to lie and say it can't be done. So, Marjorie,

(01:14:05):
who are they? Who are the they you are referring to?

Speaker 2 (01:14:09):
Exactly? Democrats, Jewish space lasers. Who knows?

Speaker 1 (01:14:16):
You can't just report yourself. You have to shoot it
down with actual information, in fact, stomp it out. Can't
just report it and leave it there. I got to
ask more than just who is day?

Speaker 2 (01:14:23):
Okay?

Speaker 1 (01:14:24):
This is why people are skeptical about scientific truths, and
this is why no matter how hard America tries, we
will never be able to solve real problems.

Speaker 2 (01:14:34):
Climate change deniers, flatter fools.

Speaker 1 (01:14:36):
We shouldn't talk to none of them after five pm,
and you shouldn't be talking to any of them for
free ever.

Speaker 2 (01:14:42):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (01:14:43):
Now, I have some flatter fools in my life that
I love, but I'm not taking on no new friends
that are flatter fools. Are climate change denias? Nope, you
need to really reevaluate your life if you and Marjorie
Taylor Green are on the same page about some of
this stuff. Okay, Marjorie Taylor Green thinks climate change is
a hoax. She's the person that will deny science because
she probably belie leave the sun just runs on vibes. Okay,
But the good thing about science is that it's true,

(01:15:06):
whether or not you believe in it. Please let Kathy Griffin,
you have Marjorie Taylor Green the biggest he hall.

Speaker 2 (01:15:12):
Please give this giant jar male the biggest he haw.
You believe in a flat earth?

Speaker 4 (01:15:23):
No, I'm not a flat earther. Okay, I have one
in my life, though.

Speaker 2 (01:15:26):
Okay, who is it?

Speaker 4 (01:15:28):
My brother, the youngest child is always the most special.

Speaker 2 (01:15:32):
How do you feel about that when he says these things?

Speaker 4 (01:15:34):
I love him regardless.

Speaker 2 (01:15:35):
Okay, but do you tell them that there's actually people
that have been in space.

Speaker 4 (01:15:39):
And have seen I stop telling them stuff alone.

Speaker 1 (01:15:41):
Do you tell them that there's so many things that
you can see from earth, like the moon and like
the sun, and you can see that those are spears,
but you don't those things delirious?

Speaker 7 (01:15:50):
Like this guy really thinks he looks like Morris Chess.
Now it's the same as if.

Speaker 2 (01:15:53):
You think is real. You try to convince us every
day that that's your real beard. Color. So what you're
saying so and you try to go in and color
that little hole? And I did not touch it at all.

Speaker 7 (01:16:03):
I did not I did not go anywhere.

Speaker 2 (01:16:05):
Yes you did. Yes, you're a liar, Yes you liars,
dirty liar. What's what's that drop? Where's the drive?

Speaker 7 (01:16:11):
You don't have that drop anymore?

Speaker 2 (01:16:16):
Thank you for that, dog, liar? What am I lying about?

Speaker 6 (01:16:19):
Now?

Speaker 2 (01:16:19):
When we come back?

Speaker 4 (01:16:21):
You your classroom size?

Speaker 2 (01:16:23):
How big?

Speaker 7 (01:16:24):
Was very small?

Speaker 2 (01:16:25):
Like the bus?

Speaker 1 (01:16:26):
Very small bus and class for a little second, sladd
feield to standardize test just for just for like one time.

Speaker 4 (01:16:32):
Everything about your streams get me.

Speaker 2 (01:16:34):
I was remediate English, I was, I was.

Speaker 1 (01:16:36):
I ain't gonna sity that lie, but I was definitely English.
At one point, I was so scared because those are
the kids I used to tease.

Speaker 2 (01:16:45):
I know I was young. You go judg me for
what I did when I was seventeen calling everybody else
house and that's terrible.

Speaker 6 (01:16:51):
Gosh.

Speaker 8 (01:16:52):
All right, when we come back, Matt Bond and Stephen
Jackson to be joining us. All the Smoke podcasts, those
brothers will be here.

Speaker 1 (01:16:58):
Please listen to All the Smoke podcasts on the Black Effect.
iHeart radio podcast Network and.

Speaker 2 (01:17:02):
So many of you do.

Speaker 1 (01:17:03):
And today they are celebrating five years of All the
Smoke and they've dropped a new coffee table book called
All the Smoke, All the Stars, All the Stories, No Apologies.
It's out right now on my book in print, Black
Privileged Publishing, Simon the Shuston came out today.

Speaker 2 (01:17:17):
So they'll be here to talk about that, yep.

Speaker 7 (01:17:18):
And we'll talk to them next. It's The Breakfast Club,
Good Morning.

Speaker 15 (01:17:21):
The Breakfast Club, Wake that ass up in the morning.
The Breakfast Club Morning.

Speaker 8 (01:17:30):
Everybody is dej Envyess hilarious, Charlamagne the gud. We are
the Breakfast Club. Justice on maternity leave you So Lona
Rosa is filling in and we got some special guests
in the building.

Speaker 2 (01:17:40):
That's right, we got Matt Bondes and Stephen Jackson. Welcome fellas.
How y'all feeling good, good, tired but good.

Speaker 1 (01:17:46):
Good, collectively known as All the Smoke podcasts. Right, Their
new coffee table book is out right now, All the Smoke.

Speaker 6 (01:17:53):
Man.

Speaker 1 (01:17:53):
You know, I always say, like, I know that there's
a lot of athletes who do podcasts and stuff.

Speaker 2 (01:17:58):
Now I don't know anybody before y'all. I feel like
y'all started that whole way.

Speaker 1 (01:18:02):
So to see y'all be the first with a coffee
table book, man, that makes so much sense to me.

Speaker 20 (01:18:07):
Man, it's been a blessed it's been a journey. I mean,
our five year anniversary is tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (01:18:11):
Wow.

Speaker 20 (01:18:11):
If you would have told me like five years later
we'd have a coffee table book, a whole production company
and people working underneath that, so how it would have
been like, you're full of shit. I didn't even know
what the podcast was at the time. So, you know,
we were blessed to come together and and find lightning
in a bottle and thankful for the opportunities and obviously
being able to partner with you and your your company
and be able to get this done was dope.

Speaker 2 (01:18:31):
A lot of people don't know that.

Speaker 16 (01:18:32):
Bro.

Speaker 26 (01:18:32):
Fat's out to you a lot of success, you know,
a lot of stuff that we have going on. You
brought our way and you thought about us, even with
black effects, so we appreciate you. A lot of people
don't know this. So we got to get your props
to all of my brothers.

Speaker 2 (01:18:43):
How did this come about? Through this just for a podcast?
Like I know y'all was partnered to go.

Speaker 20 (01:18:48):
I think I think Jack retired maybe one or two
years before me and we both got out and we're
doing ESPN and Fox and getting positive feedback and people
say we needed to do something together. And we were
at my house and the Bay one time smoking and
I'm just like, you want to do podcast? And he's like, sure,
what is it? I was like, I don't really know,
but I think we can drink and smoke because we
were working ESPNO, Fox. You know, you got to kind
of walk that line. So it was just a little

(01:19:09):
bit more to our comfort zone. And he said yeah,
So I started doing the homework and we landed here.

Speaker 2 (01:19:15):
We landed a showtime Ya Kamala was your most recent
We didn't Joe.

Speaker 20 (01:19:18):
Kim Noah after her. But yeah, Kamala was yeah, a
big boy for us.

Speaker 2 (01:19:22):
And now was that.

Speaker 7 (01:19:23):
I know you're a little reluctant a little bit at first.

Speaker 2 (01:19:25):
Oh no, you know that. I called him and talked
to him about it.

Speaker 26 (01:19:28):
Me and Matt. We went at it for a couple
of days about it. You don't want to do it
at first, nah, because I really don't want to get
in politics.

Speaker 2 (01:19:34):
I don't.

Speaker 26 (01:19:34):
I don't even want to be involved. And a lot
of people that support me don't get involved. You know
what I'm saying. I look at it the same way
I look at it, but as a friend and as
a brother to him. You know, anything that he asks
me to do something, you know, nine or ten times,
i'm low to a fault. You know what I'm saying,
even if it's something I don't want to do. But
I know it was beneficial for our company. I know
it's benefit. And I see after I did the interview,

(01:19:56):
I see now. I have a lot of women in
my life.

Speaker 2 (01:19:59):
I have eight.

Speaker 26 (01:20:01):
Six daughters, you know, so I would look to them
after I did the interview. I'm glad I did it
now because they all look at her and then and
look up to her and inspire to be great like her.

Speaker 2 (01:20:10):
So I'm glad I did it.

Speaker 20 (01:20:11):
You know, when he said he didn't want it, first
of all, I told him I was a stack I've
ever led you wrong in a business decision or life,
And he said no. But you know, when he said
he didn't want to get involved with the politics, I
told him, you know, I don't think that was his
choice because once he did that George Floyd thing, he
put his smack dab in the middle of the biggest
leading one of the biggest protests this world has ever seen.

Speaker 2 (01:20:31):
So a lot of things come with that, a lot
of good, a lot of bad, but a lot of
things come with that.

Speaker 20 (01:20:35):
And I think that he implanted hisself in the middle.
And I always will respect his opinion, but I just
thought this could be an opportunity for he has a
very loyal following, and it could have been a you know,
it was a it was an opportunity for him to
you know, get some stuff off his chest or ask
straight to the face, you know, as ask her straight
to the face those questions. So I'm glad he decided
to come around. It took him a minute, like literally,

(01:20:55):
he let me tell you until she came in the room.
Jack wouldn't right until so, so she came in the room,
and then she took us away from the group and
and took us on a walk throughout the house and
started showing us these this dope black art and sculptures
and open doublin.

Speaker 2 (01:21:09):
Jack was still tough like.

Speaker 20 (01:21:12):
And then he saw this one piece of already liked
and she talked about it, and she had moved on
and I kept falling, and he went and touched the
art and looked at it. I was like, oh, she
might be getting to him. And then he showed she
showed this dope ass chandelier. And then once she showed
the chandelier and explained it, and then Jack started smiling, like,
all right, she got him, so we were straight.

Speaker 2 (01:21:29):
So it took him a minute to him up.

Speaker 4 (01:21:30):
Did she know that you didn't want to do it?

Speaker 2 (01:21:32):
She had, Yeah, yeah, she had a little bit. I
gues she had a little somebody to show him handed her.

Speaker 7 (01:21:36):
Did y'all smoke before I got there?

Speaker 2 (01:21:37):
I did, of course, I'm high now.

Speaker 20 (01:21:42):
Yeah, it was too presidential to be able to try
to sneak it in and get one off. And we
was representing a lot of people, said we didn't want
to get in trouble, but yeah, definitely we pregamed.

Speaker 10 (01:21:51):
You know.

Speaker 2 (01:21:51):
That was one of them smoke showers, you know, the hotel.

Speaker 1 (01:21:57):
Like you know, y'all had the last conversation with Kobe
brand last interview with Kobe Bryant, and I always wondered,
was that the last time either one of y'all actually.

Speaker 2 (01:22:04):
Spoke to him.

Speaker 26 (01:22:05):
That was the first and last time I spoke to
him since we played against each other. Wow, I know, mad,
y'all had a ye, Yeah, we would.

Speaker 20 (01:22:12):
See each a little bit more because he was coaching
Gigi and I was coaching the Twins. So we had
talked maybe one time after that, and then he had
sent some shoes literally the week I think he passed
on a Sunday. He sent shoes that previous Monday to
the Twins and their whole team, so they had just
got fresh Kobe. So we had spoken then. Obviously, like
I said, he sent some shoes the week of the

(01:22:33):
actual the past, so it was it was tough.

Speaker 6 (01:22:35):
Man.

Speaker 1 (01:22:35):
What stands out from that conversation? I mean, you have it,
y'all have it in the all the smoke coffee table book.
But what stands out from that competation just from that day.

Speaker 20 (01:22:41):
We had a conversation in this office before we actually
got on camera, and he was really adamant about this
next twenty years and for the world to be prepared
for what he was doing the business. He was just
finishing writing one of those children novels he was working on,
and he just, like Felas like, I don't want people
to remember me for my last twenty years. I want
them to remembory for my next twenty years. You know,
they had the fun and had one end and doing
all kinds of stuff in the business space. And obviously

(01:23:03):
really saw when I got to see him coach Gigi
and just he didn't always never showed a ton of joy,
but you can just tell he loved it. I mean,
he had these little girls running the triangle offense with
take some road men a long time to learn. He
had these girls practicing four or five days a.

Speaker 2 (01:23:17):
Week, three hours a day.

Speaker 20 (01:23:19):
Like the thing about COVID, he didn't take nothing light
when it came to basketball. So these were little young girls,
but they were running the Lakers offense to a t.
He was like a drill sergeant with it, but you
could tell he loved it. You know, all those little
girls loved him and looked up to him, and just
the passion behind that was beautiful to see.

Speaker 22 (01:23:35):
For me.

Speaker 26 (01:23:35):
I think seeing meeting him as a teenager and seeing
him grow into the icon he was.

Speaker 2 (01:23:40):
I just admired that.

Speaker 26 (01:23:41):
You know, with so many players and basketball players you
come across doing aau and traveling, you know, coming up
as a teenager, you see so many people that's supposed
to be great that don't live up to it.

Speaker 2 (01:23:50):
You know what I'm saying. He lived up to it
and exceeded it. So you know, just to be able
to sit there.

Speaker 26 (01:23:54):
To talk to him after our careers, you know what
I mean, and go through the memories, you know what
I'm saying, then you know before he passed them and everything.

Speaker 7 (01:23:59):
To me, what do you think about the Lakers?

Speaker 17 (01:24:01):
Now?

Speaker 2 (01:24:01):
We see Bronnie played the last two games and people
are on Bronnie's ass.

Speaker 26 (01:24:05):
That's a beautiful I showed him there we got in
the car with That's the dopest picture.

Speaker 2 (01:24:08):
When you're helping his dad up, that's the dopest. Whoever
hate die?

Speaker 20 (01:24:12):
Yeah, I mean I think if anyone deserves this opportunity
to play with his son. I think it's him, you
know what I mean. And the fact that that whole
thing was orchestrated for him to get to the Lakers
is amazing.

Speaker 2 (01:24:22):
And I was, I was.

Speaker 20 (01:24:23):
I had a moment this past summer because my twins
are fifteen now, so I take them and play against
grown men, and I remember one time me and the
twins were on the same team playing and we was hooping.
I'm just like, man, this is so dope. I couldn't
imagine this on the highest level. So to me, I mean,
the kid was a fifty fifth pick. I mean, the
fifty fifth pick doesn't even make it. So all these
crazy expectations for him earlier ridiculous, like allow him to develop.
But you know, we don't live in the world where

(01:24:44):
development is allowed, especially on the highest level. So I
think from my father's son aspect, is incredible. But you know,
the Lakers are one of those teams where you got
to produce what have you've done for me lately? And
they haven't necessarily done that, So it's going to be interesting,
you know. Scrutinage year.

Speaker 4 (01:24:56):
I think we were talking about that earlier.

Speaker 3 (01:24:58):
Do you think that Brownie will actually have the chance
to develop, but you feel like people gonna pigeonhold him
so much of.

Speaker 26 (01:25:02):
It might get to have even more of a chance
to develop because his father's death, Like that's the motivation
you have, and he's seeing what it takes to be great.
So all that is in him already, and now he's
in the in the in the facilities where you have
everything here to be great. I think I think he
has everything you need and I think he's definitely gonna
blost mover. And I also think too, I mean, I
don't think you look at Brannie in the same light
as you look at Lebron.

Speaker 2 (01:25:23):
That's what I just think.

Speaker 20 (01:25:28):
I think he's gonna be a very solid role player.
I mean, he's got a high the high i Q
place defense, can make the right play, can shoot the ball.
So I just think he needed a little bit more
time to develop, and now he's developing on the biggest stage.
But I think, you know, two three, four years, he's
going to be a very solid rotational player.

Speaker 6 (01:25:44):
All Right.

Speaker 8 (01:25:44):
We got more with Steven Jackson and Matt Bournes from
the All the Smoke podcasts when we come back, So
don't move.

Speaker 2 (01:25:49):
It's to Breakfast Club.

Speaker 7 (01:25:50):
Good Morning Morning.

Speaker 8 (01:25:50):
Everybody is j n V, Jess, Hilarrie Charlamage the guy.
We are the Breakfast Club. Lona Rosa is filling in
for Jess, and we still cook it with Stephen Jackson
and Matt Balls.

Speaker 7 (01:26:00):
All the Smoke podcasts show what.

Speaker 1 (01:26:02):
Was the process of putting this book together, Like how
did y'all choose which conversations to put.

Speaker 2 (01:26:06):
In the how Daling?

Speaker 20 (01:26:08):
Yeah, obviously, yeah, you and the company and then Dylan
just understanding you know, where we the caliber of guests
we had and the different topics we spoke on. You know, again,
there's a ton of people in this space now as
far as sports, but I don't look as if as
a competition. I think everyone had their own journey and
their own voice and their own experiences, and I think
we still think with all the conversations we had, our

(01:26:28):
conversation is still different from everybody else's so just important,
you know, family, mental health, everything that comes along in
this journey. And you know, we've been able to transition
from not just a sports show to just kind of
a more of a culturally relevant show, you know, where
we're talking to the Kevin's and the Wills and the
Jada's and.

Speaker 2 (01:26:45):
The Jamis and and the VP.

Speaker 20 (01:26:47):
So I just think, you know, high level conversations with
high level people, and you know, being able to be
celebrated with that. I mean, if I'm not mistaken with
the first podcasts with the coffee table books, man, So
I think it's it's it's a tremendous opportunity.

Speaker 2 (01:26:59):
We're very thankful forward and hope that everyone checks it out.

Speaker 3 (01:27:02):
How did how did you guys know it was time
to You talk a lot about transition, that it was
time to transition and like lean into like okay, the podcast,
the merch like just the business side of things, Like
was that a switch?

Speaker 4 (01:27:12):
It probably was planned? But when did you know, like, okay,
it's trying to jump the fence now.

Speaker 6 (01:27:16):
Man.

Speaker 20 (01:27:16):
The reason why I left the NBA the first year
of a three year deal, I happened to win a
championship with Golden State and I wouldn't get at planned.
I wasn't getting chance in my kids, you know what
I mean. So you know, it was kind of a
perfect storm when we won a championship and I was
ready to move. So I was just kind of excited
and I think sometimes how why athletes have a hard

(01:27:38):
time transitioning because they don't get to leave on their
own accord. Most of the time it's injuries or a
reputation or just teams don't want to no more. But
you know, I was someone that just you know, I
was in the midst of a contract and I'm just like, man,
you know this is the blessing we won. I want
to I'm missing so much time with my sons, my
father first, so you know that was my transitioning reason.

(01:27:58):
And then once I transition, I'm like, damn, what's next.
You know, I had invested well, and you know, had
some things moving, but I knew I was still needed
to find something to do. And you know, media came
knocking for both of us. You know, we kind of
ran with it. So, I mean, Jack is the kind
of guy that you know, he trusts very few, so
if you're in his trust circle, he's going to listen
to you. And when I pitched the idea, he trusted

(01:28:19):
me to run with it and make it happen. And
you know that's what I was able to do.

Speaker 8 (01:28:23):
I want to ask some basketball question before y'all get
a bout of there play Thompson. What you think about
him leaving the Warriors and you think it was time
for him to go.

Speaker 2 (01:28:30):
I think it's a breath professional air for him. I
mean some guys need that doing their career. You know
what I mean. You played this service pop for so long.
It's a bad feel in the body.

Speaker 26 (01:28:39):
I ain't won the last couple of years, so a
lot of times they're going to try to find somebody
to blame it on. And it fell on Clay, you
know what I'm saying, Which is unfortunate because he's the
reason why they have a big part why they have
all those championships over there. But this is how professional
sports go. Yeah, this is how it goes. And I
think it's great for him because he's landed in the
spot where he can do what he do best with
two of the best one on one players ever, Kyrie

(01:29:00):
and Luca.

Speaker 2 (01:29:00):
He could spot up and shoot jumpers.

Speaker 26 (01:29:02):
So I think I think it's a great, great situation
for him because I've I've been in a situation where
I was somewhere and I needed to go to a
different team to be to flourish, to be a better player.
When I came to Golden State, So that's kind of
the same for him. Play is a hooper hooper? Yeah,
oh yeah, he played on both ends.

Speaker 2 (01:29:17):
W NBA, what are your thoughts this year?

Speaker 7 (01:29:20):
What a new excitement, new life. Sometimes I ain't go fun.
It feels better than the NBA. It's what's your thoughts
on WNBA?

Speaker 2 (01:29:27):
Can the women's game is preier?

Speaker 26 (01:29:29):
Man? You know what I'm saying. They all played the
right way. It's refreshing to watch. It's good to see
them start to get their money and get their attention
that they deserve. I'm a hooper, so I'm all for
anybody that's hooping, that's putting in that work, you know
what I'm saying, that's grinded all these years to get
to the top.

Speaker 20 (01:29:43):
I'm happy that they're getting to just do. I think
the growth of the game is tremendous. You know the
fact that we're talking about it and seeing it on
ESPN and all the highlights and and and you know,
we're doing a piece that I'm excited about on injuries
and Kaithan Clark and just their dynamic that they brought
to the game, and the vehicle of new fans they brought.
And you've heard kind of some of the good and

(01:30:03):
the bad that have come with that. You know, Angel
spoke out on just the negativity and the racism that'll
come from some fans and kind of using them.

Speaker 8 (01:30:10):
But it's that normal though, because you know, it seems
like that's normal in the league. I'm sure that you
guys have been called a million names.

Speaker 2 (01:30:16):
Absolutely absolutely you.

Speaker 26 (01:30:24):
Utah, yeah, I just got in trouble and then yeah,
that's back when you still had the space between your teeth. Yeah, yeah, yeah, exactly,
Yeah I had. We had a cardboard cut out under
the gold with me and a jail suit.

Speaker 2 (01:30:35):
Oh no, it was funny too. We were all laughing.
We signed it for him.

Speaker 20 (01:30:38):
Yeah no, But I just I think the growth through
the game is tremendous. I think it's going to continue
to grow. It's got new eyeballs and new sponsorship and
new money, and uh, you know, we just want to
continue to celebrate them.

Speaker 3 (01:30:48):
There was a video last year in November that went
viral of you and Derek Fisher coaching the Twins together.

Speaker 4 (01:30:54):
That was a relief. That video was like, I think
the world was like, oh wow.

Speaker 2 (01:30:58):
The world, yeah, Jack, I was I remember twenty fifteen.

Speaker 3 (01:31:05):
Everything before that right, what was it like getting to
that point where now were on the court. It's important
to do it, but what.

Speaker 2 (01:31:11):
Was that standing?

Speaker 20 (01:31:12):
Me and Fish squashed that summer after it happened, like
that happened at the beginning of one season, and then
the next summer once I found out he was around,
and then twins cared about him, Like we squashed it
because it wasn't about my ex and nine no more.
It was about trying to raise these young men. So
Fish has been in the boys life for almost half
their life, you know what I mean. So we've always
been and I was real enough to sit down and
have a conversation with him, like, bro, I'm still playing,

(01:31:33):
so you're going to see my kids more than me.
I need you to teach them the ropes while I'm
not around, so to me, you know, once I got over,
and once we talked about how I didn't agree with
the move and it could have went a different way,
Like it wasn't about saving that, it was about harvesting
and we got to raise two young black men.

Speaker 2 (01:31:48):
So I mean, I think he's done a great jot.
I tipped my hat to him all the time.

Speaker 20 (01:31:50):
I mean, he's their second dad and he you know,
I coached him in the summer during AAU and he
coaches them during high school. So I mean, when people
see us, they still kind of trip out, But like
we are, our beef is for a season that long.

Speaker 2 (01:32:02):
For y'all, it's easy to squash beef when you win
the fight. Jackson appreciate y'all. Y'all got some should show today? Yep.

Speaker 20 (01:32:19):
Yeah, Philly with with a million dollars worth of game
and and a really special guest coming through with them.

Speaker 2 (01:32:24):
Man, so we're ex outed to be honest, John Davies,
all of them said they was pulling up, so I'm
looking to see you and is.

Speaker 4 (01:32:30):
It gonna be a I and Philly? Well, you know, that's.

Speaker 1 (01:32:37):
Probably my favorite all woke conversation is probably my favorite.

Speaker 2 (01:32:41):
Aim.

Speaker 1 (01:32:43):
That conversation is in All the Smoke Coffee table Book,
which is out right now. All the Stars, all the stories,
no apologies.

Speaker 2 (01:32:49):
Go get it. That's right.

Speaker 7 (01:32:50):
It's the Breakfast Club, Good Morning.

Speaker 2 (01:32:52):
The Breakfast Club Lifting.

Speaker 1 (01:32:58):
Make sure you go out there and after the good
brothers Matt Bonds and Stephen Jackson new coffee table book,
All the Smoke, all the Stories, all the all the stars,
all the stories, No apologies available wherever you buy books today.

Speaker 2 (01:33:11):
That's right, and let's get to jest with the mess
with law la Rossa. You use is real weapons, Laurens,
jess Ca, Robin Moore. Just don't do no lines, don't do.

Speaker 1 (01:33:20):
Talk nobody talk the world why jes worldwide talk on
the Breakfast Clubs, the Coaches with Lauren, Lauren Rosa and
I got the mess.

Speaker 2 (01:33:34):
Talk to me.

Speaker 3 (01:33:37):
That Joe has a new show on Stars, Joey kras
Talks and it's it's produced very very wide.

Speaker 4 (01:33:44):
You guys watched it.

Speaker 7 (01:33:45):
Yet, I see some of the parts with method Man.

Speaker 3 (01:33:47):
Okay, some of the clips. So if you have Amazon Prime,
you can get Stars through Amazon Prime as well too.
Also debut already, yes first episode yesterday. I watched the episode.
It's with method Man and there's it's with two people.
I even saw the method and part them. So he
sat down with Meta Man. They talked about a lot,
like they take they go back to Staten Island. They
talk through you know, the upcoming like of the of

(01:34:07):
their relationship and how like back in the day you
can't like show emotion and you know, just all that
good stuff. You know, if fat Joe is with telling
stories and being animated, so it's a really good watch.
But they get into a conversation that meta man has
had publicly just about like depression and its upbringing. So
he starts talking about just his life and just some
of the things that he's went through, and I think
in that moment he realizes just you know, how tough

(01:34:30):
stuff was for him at one point, and they talk
about the fact that he's actually putting together a book
right now, let's take a listen.

Speaker 27 (01:34:36):
You get a thought about so damn, I wonder what
this person's doing, act on it. Call him, Yeah, see
how they're doing. I'll just spawn some way to get
in contact with him. It never hurts. You have no
idea how much that could mean to them, because you know,
I go through these bouts with certain Do you still
go through that, Yeah, because really goes away.

Speaker 2 (01:34:53):
You know.

Speaker 28 (01:34:54):
I went through depression after my sister died, put died
my grandfather the same time, two years straight, going to
a therapist and it could be a sunny day to
the dark outside.

Speaker 2 (01:35:05):
Was it an aggressive type of.

Speaker 28 (01:35:07):
I went through it through I was sleeping in the
bathtub with no water running. Wow, looking up that ceiling
and I want you a therapist. And it took me
two years of beating myself up. And so I tell people,
you could be in a gang, you could be in anything.

Speaker 2 (01:35:22):
Somebody trying to kill you. Just move to a number state.
Yeah yeah, right yeah. When you fighting your own brain,
it's with you all the time.

Speaker 1 (01:35:31):
I love hearing brothers have those conversations because the only
way to eradicate the stigma around mental health is for
everybody to tell their stories. So I'm glad that they
sharing their stories with each other.

Speaker 8 (01:35:39):
And the sad thing about it is like somebody like
Meta Man in Fat Joe is like, you know, their celebrities,
their stars, So people don't see that side of it.
They just want to see the turning on Wu tang
all the time. But you know, everybody goes through something.
So salutes to metha Man and Joey Kraush.

Speaker 1 (01:35:52):
And then a go to people in their family. It's like,
who does the go to person go to when they
need somebody to talk to.

Speaker 4 (01:35:59):
So Man actually talked about that too.

Speaker 3 (01:36:01):
He talked about how you know because Fat Joe was
saying that, you know, sometimes he regrets a lot of
different things that he's done, or just you know, like
just kind of some of the grief that he feels
like he's caused other people, like his parents or like whoever,
because of the different things he was doing as he
was coming up and having to learn, And he asked
methad man, like, you know, do you regret anything? And
met the man says, you know, I wonder sometimes if

(01:36:22):
my parents have regrets, because he talked about his mom
being a very young mom.

Speaker 4 (01:36:24):
We had a second clip about the book that's.

Speaker 27 (01:36:26):
Actually I'm working on a book. And the funny thing
that happened was this girl that I had the meeting
with the writer. Actually I grew up with her sister
in Long Island. She know my friend life, and there
were so many things that she didn't realize until I
told her, like even the family I was staying with.

Speaker 2 (01:36:44):
She thought that was my family. It wasn't.

Speaker 27 (01:36:46):
I was actually homeless and they took me in kind
of you know what I mean.

Speaker 2 (01:36:50):
I was in them street streets. When I tell you
I was out in the street, I was out in
the street.

Speaker 27 (01:36:54):
We talking five six years old, coming home after dog
police had to come get me.

Speaker 2 (01:36:59):
Kind of yeah.

Speaker 27 (01:37:00):
He used to drive my mother crazy brother, I'd be
wondering if my parents got killed.

Speaker 2 (01:37:05):
But the book will explain.

Speaker 3 (01:37:07):
And he talks about how on this side of things,
method man because his mom went through so much. She
was a young mom, three kids, no real help, she
had a rough life and she did the best she could,
so he said, he just talks about how he tries
to make everything so good for her now because of
so much as she went through. But it was a
really great conversation produced very well to the visuals.

Speaker 7 (01:37:23):
But it's not just dark.

Speaker 8 (01:37:24):
They talk about him making records like the what would
Notorious Big talks about a lot of the stuff that
he's done.

Speaker 2 (01:37:31):
Just not all no, no, no, no, a.

Speaker 4 (01:37:32):
Full encompassing conversation.

Speaker 2 (01:37:34):
That's right.

Speaker 1 (01:37:34):
And by the way, to me, those conversations aren't dark,
you know what I'm saying. Those conversations are dark because
they are leading people to the light. Because if you
don't deal with your trauma, your trauma will ultimately deal
with you. So when you hear brothers having those conversations,
but then they're also talking about going to therapy and
being on those healing journeys, those aren't dark conversations to me.

Speaker 2 (01:37:49):
Those actually conversations feel with And the.

Speaker 8 (01:37:51):
Great thing about those conversations is, you know, Fat Joe
said he was in therapy for two years. Fat Joe
makes it his business to check up on everybody that
he loves. They talked about that, and I love Fat
Joe for that. It doesn't matter what it is is not.
He doesn't ask for anything. He calls the people that
he loves around him, not just his well family, his
family and friends, just to say, Yo, how you doing,

(01:38:11):
How is your family?

Speaker 2 (01:38:12):
Are you okay? Do you need anything? I love you?
And Joe calls me frequently just to make sure I'm
okay and my head is okay.

Speaker 3 (01:38:19):
So Joey Crack, I love you, just saying like y
and back in the times when they were coming up,
y'all be in the club and like, you see somebody
you want to say, what's up? You wanta be hapy
to see him? You couldn't even be happy to see him.
You just had to They had to be suppressed. So
he said that they make it a point now people
envy left.

Speaker 2 (01:38:34):
Out the fact that Joey's sending him that why rewind
the time? Why fight the time when you can rewind
the time?

Speaker 7 (01:38:41):
That Beard dark Joe actually hasn't sent me that, but
I'm sure he will send it to me.

Speaker 4 (01:38:45):
Now, Joe, he said that to you do in real life?

Speaker 2 (01:38:48):
Right he did.

Speaker 1 (01:38:49):
He walked into me into DNC and he touched my
grades and he said, why fight the time when you
can rewind me to look.

Speaker 4 (01:38:56):
At y'all fat Joe Charlotte Magne at the DNC.

Speaker 2 (01:38:58):
That's right.

Speaker 3 (01:39:00):
In fact, Joe having conversations about mental health like, I'm
proud of y'all.

Speaker 1 (01:39:03):
Well, my fourth Anuel mental health export is this Saturday.
I heard at the Marry Out Marquee Time Square from
eleven Tom to four I bring you bring some of
the best therapists, some of the best psychiatrists, brief counselor
spiritual leaders.

Speaker 2 (01:39:14):
And it's a free event open to all ages.

Speaker 3 (01:39:16):
And said early now you said you got something we
should go. No, No, it's during the day my brother's
baby shower.

Speaker 4 (01:39:23):
My brother. I have to be there by like eleven
twelve to set up closet.

Speaker 2 (01:39:29):
Somebody got a bye what you say, he said, somebody
didn not If it's her brother on his baby.

Speaker 4 (01:39:39):
Shower, that is not almost did whoa.

Speaker 7 (01:39:43):
Ok?

Speaker 3 (01:39:45):
Yeah, uh huh, you'd be firing real heavy from over there,
You're going to run out of AMMO and.

Speaker 2 (01:39:51):

same struggle. I'm thirty seven and I'm singling it's hard

Speaker 2 (01:40:55):
I tried not to laugh, but boy, I was doubled

road stuff for the back. You can sec it out

When we come back to Sean comes, let me see

not just about having a beautiful family. It's about the
work it takes to keep that family together. Sean Diddy,
Combs rapper, record producer, and frequent freak offer.

That's what it says on the book, does.

Speaker 1 (01:43:17):
Okay does not say that it's a very eclectic list. Yes,
who else on their clue? Nvy and Gear had a
strong bomb from the beginning, not as strong as me
and Envy's, but they are the perfect example of soulmates
who are meant to be okay, and it me make

(01:43:38):
you wonder what we all can build if we start
with the right foundation.
