For the past few weeks, we have seen a lot of strange things: trans shootings in churches, the murder of Charlie Kirk, violence with antifa everywhere, and apathetic democrat leadership. The persistent and pervasive nature of news and the versions of a story are overwhelming, even for those of us who are in it every day. In this episode, Lynda talks about all of these and more, and how nothing really seems to make much sense at all.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
What's up? And welcome. This is the Rogue Recap, and
you are here with your host, Linda McLaughlin. She is pissed, off, outraged,
and has zero patience with what seems to be an
epidemic of entitlement and stupidity. Here we talk about all
the things the other shows just don't or won't touch.

(00:20):
Make sure to like and subscribe to her podcast so
you never miss an episode.

Speaker 2 (00:26):
What's up, you, guys, and welcome to the Road Recap.
We're a couple weeks out here from the assassination of
Charlie Kirk, and if you're like me, you're questioning a
lot of what we were told about the killer and
about the murder, and about the weapon and the text
messages and just so many things surrounding that entire case.

(00:49):
And I feel like, I don't know about you, guys,
but I feel like I'm in a perpetual syop. And
the last couple of shows I've done, I've talked to
out the gas lighting, constant gaslighting, right like look over here,
shiny ball or you know it's you, It's not me,
Like I just want facts. I'm so disinterested and disgusted

(01:15):
with the copious amount of fake news and fake information
that just seems to be at the ready and it's everywhere.
I mean, I go on. Now, I saw this thing
last night. My brother sent it to me and I
was like, holy shit. It's an AI. It's an open
source AI that you can go in. You pick the

(01:37):
face and the voice that you want to be, and
then you basically speak whatever it is you want the character,
the actor, whatever it is the singer to say. And
it was so creepy. I was completely freaked out. I mean,
this guy was freaked out, you know. He went on

(01:57):
to say, and I would play it for you, but
you're one of those visual things. But he's basically like
pretending to be Taylor Swift, who I can't stand. But
he was like, Hey, I'm a dude, I'm here at home.
I'm not an engineer, I am not a Hollywood director.
I have zero professional equipment. This is an open source product,
and I am able to look and sound exactly like

(02:21):
a wicked, famous person. And unless you're really looking, you're
not going to notice any differences. Right, Like, if you're
just passing through and doing like your nightly scroll wherever
you do it, everybody's different, you know, I have friends
that call it the doom scroll. My one son always says,
he's like, I'm doing the doom scroll, And it's basically
where you kind of go through all the terrible news
of the day. I've given my husband a strict rule.

(02:42):
I said, you got to stop. I can't. You got
to watch that crap on mute because all I do
all day long is listen to horrible things. So if
we go to bed learning about, you know, the radical
Islamisation of all the various Western cultures countries, the invasion,
the lack of assimilation, Like, all I'm going to do
is I'm nightmares all night. So it's it's got to stop.
But it was wild to see this guy. He was

(03:05):
as freaked out as I was watching it. I was like,
oh my god. But again, it just you have to
have like a moment where you like hit the pull
us and then you do like what I call the
AI check, right, you run it through the AI check
a meter and you say is this real or not?
And one of the things that I do, because I
do a ton of work in this space in media.

(03:25):
If I'm creating a meme or a graphic or a video,
and I need to use something, and obviously I don't
want to get into a licensing issue or have any
of those kinds of problems. I will create something. I'll
to create it in grock, I'll create it in one
of these open source platforms, and I'm like, it is
super easy. Now, what I will tell you is I
don't think it replaces human talent. I'll still give it

(03:48):
to my graphic designer and I'll say, hey, can you
make this look perfect? This is what I want. This
is my you know, amateur effort. Please take it and
make it professional. So there's something to that, but it
just scares a crap out of me. I mean, they
can take your voice, they can take your face, your likeness,

(04:09):
they can take your inflections, your hand gestures, like all
these things that are so personal to each and every
one of us, and you're like, oh my god. It's
kind of like when people would say Biden doesn't have
a body double or Clinton doesn't have a body double,
and you'd see Hillary Clinton after the nine to eleven collapse.
And you can call me conspiracy theorists all day long,

(04:31):
but ladies listening to this are going to agree with
me one hundred percent as a woman. There are certain
things you always do the same way. Okay, your hair
goes the same way unless you're styling it for a
special event. You put your pocketbook on the same shoulder,

(04:51):
You wear certain rings on the same fingers. And when
Hillary Clinton collapse that day at that nine to eleven event,
You'll know, when she came back out and they said
she was fine, her rings were on the wrong fingers,
her purse was on the wrong shoulder, her the way
she moved and the way she was talking were different.
I was like, uh, yeah, I'm sorry. This is like

(05:13):
an amazing actress, but this is not Hillary Clinton, no way,
no hey. And you know these are the things, you know.
It's like when they said, you know, Joe Biden came
out that day and he had that super deep voice
and like it's COVID. I'm like, yeah, it's twenty twenty four.
It's not COVID. I don't know what it is, but
it's not COVID. He's also six foot five. I don't

(05:33):
know when that happened. Like, oh, there's a camera angle.
I'm like, okay, everybody else looks the same height. Just
stupid stuff, you know. But the problem is is They've
made everything so impossible to ask about, so impossible to question.
And I feel that way about I mean, even look
at President Trump yesterday at the you know, the UN.

(05:56):
The teleprompter doesn't work, the microphone doesn't work. Yes, escalator
stops working, and can we talk for a hot second
about the Secret Service? Holy shit, they didn't even move.
I'm like, I'm sorry the president of the free world
is currently stuck on an escalator to just suddenly stop
moving in the middle of the UN, which is like,
you know, terrorist nation there, nobody there is our friend.

(06:19):
I don't know why the hell it's in the middle
of New York City. Please leave, Please put that stuff
in like I don't know Somalia or Africa, or I
don't know London anywhere else, because it doesn't belong here.
We don't want you here. Take your free Palestine protests
and shove that shit up your ass and take it
over to some other country where people want to hear

(06:40):
your noise. We don't want to hear it. I have
zero interest in having people that want to recognize Palestine
as its own state and not acknowledge what has happened
with Hamas and say that there's nothing more to see
here in the city of New York. It's ridiculous. And
let me tell you something else. Somebody who works in

(07:00):
New York, and I have many friends that work in
New York, and we've all been going in and out
of the city for the last couple of weeks because
they have like a week of prep and then they
have two weeks of this nonsense. And obviously this week
was nuts because we had Zelenskia b d or we
have Macron, you know, we had uh, we had had
a Trump. You know, it's a lot of people. Okay, fine,
but they closed down. So the United Nations is in

(07:24):
Midtown on you know, on the east side, on the
East River, and so where I work is on the
west side, and I can tell you they have streets
closed down all the way to eighth Avenue, you know,
in the middle, from fifty seventh Street down to thirty
eighth Street. You can't get anywhere. They literally are not
letting people walk on the street. Yesterday, I went to

(07:45):
get out of my office and they're like, oh, you
can't exit on this side. So you walk across the
bider're like, oh, you can't exit on this side. I'm
like all right, so not trying to be a wise ass,
but neither side is allowing you out of the building,
Like what are you guys doing? Like it's just stupid,
and like there's no traffic control. There's no they're not
controlling people. Like you know, pedestrians in New York City

(08:07):
think they ruled a roost. They have zero regard for
moving vehicles. Mind you. It took me three and a
half hours yesterday to drive into Manhattan because I missed
my train, and I guess, in some weird way it
was a blessing because there were no trains out of
Manhattan last night. There were no trains in and out today.
It's just, I honestly, some of the things that we

(08:29):
are unable to do as a first world nation in
twenty twenty five frighten me. I'm like a that right.
I don't know who's running these things, hulcal, but I
can tell you one thing. New York is a hot
mess and we don't need the un there, so please leave.
So that's my final statement on that. And the NYPD,
My god, what a terrible job they did yesterday. I
watched them stand there and do absolutely nothing in the

(08:53):
midst of massive traffic, Pedestrians crossing on the don't walk
creating more traffic. A little bit effort, a little bit
of involvement, goes a long way. And as somebody who
supports our police, I got to tell you, these are
easy things. Guys. Just get involved, help out. They are
so quick to scream and yell at you if you
go the wrong way. I'm like, well, help people out,
go the right way. Nobody knows where they're going, nobody

(09:16):
knows how to get from point A to point B.
Just screaming at people, it doesn't help anybody. I really
at points look around and I'm just kind of like,
I think humanity has definitely taken a turn for the worst.
And if we've learned anything through this, Charlie Kirk experience
the dichotomy between followers of Christ, people who believe in

(09:37):
you know, morals, the sanctity of life, the sanctity of marriage.
There is a palpable difference between those individuals and the
people that are screaming at current campus, you know, Republicans
and people that are trying to open TPUSA locations. And
some of the folks I follow, like cam Higbee, you know,

(09:58):
he's out there and he's filming these lunatic Antifa members,
which have just recently been designated a terrorist group by
our president. And I have no idea why in the world, Ice,
our national Guard, our law enforcement is not having a
heavier hand with these people. I mean, they are surrounding

(10:18):
federal buildings, They are using bullhorns at night to protest
and scream outside of hotels. I mean, isn't there like
a sound ordinance or some sort of you know, I
don't know, There's got to be something where you're like
affecting the public at two in the morning on a bullhorn,
where it's like, hey, asshole, you know, some people have
to get up and go to work tomorrow. We realize

(10:40):
that you guys are all paid and bought by sorrows,
but the rest of us we still have a paycheck.
So if you could just you know, shuffle along, thank
you very much. Last I heard, you get paid whether
you protest or not, so you should be good. But
there's just this very strange, you know, dichotomy of the
way we behave but also the way we're treated. You know,
even today with the shooting this morning at the ICE

(11:01):
facility in Dallas, Texas, you know the shooter again, is
a gamer on a discord. I don't know if he's
trans or not. Who the hell knows. But it's like
he shoots three people. He shoots the detainees, not the officers.
Then he shoots himself. And then people like Gabby Giffords,
who was a victim of gun violence, comes out and says,

(11:24):
this is what's wrong with America. It's gun violence. I'm like,
you've got to be kidding me. It's not gun violence.
You know. Guns don't kill people. Spoons don't make people fat,
cars don't run other people over. It's people people do that.
I don't know where we got lost in the accountability
area of life, but there has to be some because

(11:48):
there are millions upon millions of law abiding Second Amendment
respecting gun owners all over this country, myself and my
husband included, and we don't ever miss We're not out
there shooting people up. Our guns are in biometrics safe
so that nobody gets hurt. And let me tell you something,
criminals who have the will and the mindset to commit

(12:12):
a crime are not interested in gun laws. Again, please
take a look at Chicago. Some of the most stringent
gun laws in the country, California, Cartel City. Nobody can
to have a gun. People are getting shot every day,
every single one of these blue cities, every single one.

(12:34):
They're run by Democrats who are inept and they're far
more interested in talking about equality and how they're you know,
they're oppressed and they have issues than they are about
solving problems. They just want to keep everybody down because
if they can keep you down, they can keep you
on the dole. It is that simple. And so we

(12:55):
have to be very very forceful with our elected officials
that currently have the reins Republicans and I won't. We
never even talked about the Ilhano mar thing last week.
I mean, we had an opportunity to censure and get
this creep out of our country, and four scumbag Republicans
voted against our own party and with the Democrats. Why

(13:18):
what are you people doing? This is the kind of
shit that really pisses me off. This is the kind
of stuff that makes me say, who bought and paid you?
You know what happened that you felt like you needed
to turn on your own people and vote for this
woman who hates America. All that she does all day

(13:40):
long is tell people how Somalia is her first love
and America is a terrible, hateful country and we need
to be careful. Shut up. Please, if you love Somalia
so much, take your husband, your brother, whatever you call
them with you and go back. Please leave today. We

(14:01):
would love for you to go that much. I can
promise you from the bottom of my heart. And I
sincerely do not know what people are doing with these Republicans,
Corey Mills being one of them, I mean, my god,
I just could not believe from the There are very
few things that leave me speechless, that was one of them,

(14:22):
and I was just like, why in the world would
you vote against what is happening here with ilhan O
mar This is a unique opportunity for us to finally
get this scumbag out of here. And what are we
doing instead? Oh? I know, we'll We'll just keep it here.

(14:43):
It's great. And I'll be honest with you if you are,
if you are a constituent of one of these people,
I pray to you that you get them out of here.
So I'm going to tell you what these jerks said.
Corey Mills says, we may not like or agree with
what someone says, but that does not mean we should
deny their protected First Amendment right. Bullshit. Tom McClintock says,

(15:07):
this disgusting and hateful speech is still speech and it's
protected by our First Amendment. Bullshit. Jeff Hurd says, I
voted against today's censure because it tried to strip another
member of Congress from committees and to silence her for
exercising her First Amendment right to free speech. That's absolutely
not what is happening here. And let me tell you

(15:31):
something else. Ilhan Omar is not saying things that are
just like, oh I don't like this person, or I
don't like this. She is lying about somebody who is
literally not hearing anymore to defend himself. It's repulsive. That's
a completely different thing. And we're not we want to

(15:54):
center her for being an elected member of Congress lying
about somebody who was assassinated for literally expressing their freedom
of speech. And now you think that you should protect
hers because she bashes him. What planet are we on?
It does not make sense not to mention the fact
that she's committed immigration fraud and is somehow a multimillionaire

(16:16):
from being in Congress. Can we please just look at
the things that we need to look at to get
rid of her. It's hate speech. She's all about hate speech.
She's the one who says she's a victim of it
every single day. Well, let me tell you something for
somebody who is a victim of it every single day.
She's sure his hell is pretty good at it. She
really is. But anyways, back to Tyler Robinson, if you're

(16:38):
like me, you're starting to wonder what the hell is
really going on. And I'm not saying that he's not
in on it in some way, but there's just something
very strange about the whole Tyler Robinson, Lance Twigs, the
weird text messages between them, they look like they were
written by somebody in their forties, not somebody in their twenties.
Not to mention the fact, why would anybody write their

(17:00):
entire basically a timeline of what they did to murder
somebody in a text message? I mean, does that seem
believable to anybody else? It's I mean, it's evidence. I
don't know. It just feels wrong to me. I'm sure
we won't get the truth on that, just like we
don't have the truth still on Thomas Crooks, who tried

(17:21):
to kill President Trump and Butler. I mean, we don't
know anything about that guy, not one damn thing. We
got Ryan Ruth he got you know, he was found
guilty on all charges. Then he's trying to stab himself
with a pen. I'm like, okay, so clearly we're trying
to get into the mental health institution so we don't
have to live the rest of our life in jail.
I mean, it's just not hard, guys. You know, this

(17:42):
stuff is so insane. And the problem is too, is
that when you try to talk about it, like I said,
people start freaking out. You're not allowed to say that.
You're not allowed to say. Why am I not allowed
to say? I'll tell you what. I'm gonna call for
my first Amendment right to tell you people that you're
all full of shit? How's that? Congratulations? You're welcome. This
is the Rogue Recap. As you can tell, I'm pretty

(18:03):
annoyed with everybody. No shock there. I hope you guys
are staying safe out there. Please watch your back. There's
a lot of lunatics. We'll see you tomorrow and good night, guys.
Please check us out online. Don't forget at Rogue Recap
at Lindamik and next week I think we're going to
start video, so that should be pretty cool and try
to get some of your questions in here and other
fun stuff, so that'd be good. Anyways, good night, be safe,

(18:26):
see you tomorrow

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
