Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, thanks Scott Channon. An hour two Sean, Hannity's
showing this Friday, eight hundred and ninety four one Sean,
if you want to be a part of the program
tonight on Hannity nine Eastern, we will have the Memphis videotape.
I go back, and this is in the case of
Tyree Nichols. The police chief says that these acts of
(00:22):
these five officers against him. And again I'm I'm going
by what people are saying now that we have the
Paul Pelosi tape. It is not exactly as it was reported,
and there had been conflicting reports. If you recall that
this defies acts of humanity. What we'll see tonight unexplainable
aggression by Memphis police against Tyree Nichols. Tyree Nichols case
(00:47):
shows that law enforcement issues aren't about raised, but bias
is on the table. Tyree Nichols mother describing her son's
body when she saw him in the hospital. We've all
seen that image at picture. It's I mean, it's there's
five cops as one kid, and and it's it's it's
beyond any comprehension I have um And anyway, the Memphis
(01:12):
officers Uh, you know, we'll see this tape tonight and
it sounds by by every account so far that we've heard,
and I am withholding that judgment, this is gonna be
bad tonight. Now how people react to this. Everyone is
predicting the worst. I hope it's not going to be
the case, but you have to be on alert that
(01:34):
it might be the case that the potential for this
to you know, be the summer of twenty twenty. Uh,
could be tonight, maybe in other cities across the country.
I know the guard has been called up in Atlanta, etc. Etc.
The one tape that we have now been able to
see is the Paul Pelosi tape. The body cam videos out,
(01:55):
the nine one one call is out. There is also
a a surveillance video that came out. It's the strangest thing.
The guy that attacked Paul Pelosi. You know, he's literally
banging it looks like on the door with the hammer
to try and break into the house. So not much
to say about that. Let's go to the moment now.
(02:16):
Paul Pelosi, it is clear is speaking in code to
a nine one one operator, and it's clear that he's
on speaker, and it's clear that the soon to be
assailant is listening and answering, and I'm saying he's a
friend of the family. And remember, go back to the
reporting of the time, it was that he said that. Well,
(02:37):
we read that he had said, based on Nancy Pelosi's answers,
when she got home, he would decide whether or not
she was going to be attacked or not. So, you know,
Paul Pelosi's in a tough spot with a nine one
one call. He's an older gentleman obviously doesn't have the
means to defend himself, and you can see that in
(02:58):
the video. And even when the police come in, he
asked to act like everything's cool. And this guy has
a hammer in his hand and towards the end put
that hammer down and that's when he attacks Paul Pelosi
and hits in the head. The police acted immediately. But anyway,
here is the body cam audio of the police officers
as this was unfolding. How you doing? What's going on? Man?
(03:26):
Hi dropped the hammer? Hey? Hey, what is going on? Four? Ever?
(03:52):
Send back up the three your I mean just chilling
when you when you watch all of this unfolds. Here
to give their take on this, Mark Simon. He is
the host of the number one morning show on our
affiliate New York AM seven ten wo R and Betsy
(04:15):
McCoy is with us. Uh, former Lieutenant Governor of New York.
UH and welcome back both of you, Mark Simone, as
as I look at this tape again and again and again,
it just reinforces to me and I tell people and
remember Paul Pelosi was a victim here. Uh, he was attacked. Uh.
(04:36):
It clearly not provoked in any way. But um, you
know the need to figure out some method by which
you have an ability to defend yourself if God forbid
you find yourself in a similar situation. What was your take? Well,
it's a very frightened Paul Pelosi that opens the door.
The nut has his arm around Pelosi's arm, holding him.
The biggest mystery here is the guy's obviously just a lunatic.
(04:59):
Why did allowed him to call nine one one? And
it's on a speaker phone, he's hearing this conversation. I
don't know why I didn't grab the photo way and
say everything's fine, we're okay here. Well, so I allowed
that call. I'll never understand, Thank goodness for that nine
one one operator who something that's wrong, sent the police,
and she sent them on a hunch because because she
(05:20):
was asking very specific questions, are you in danger? But
the assailant is right next to him, he can't say, yes,
I'm in danger, come down here. And the cops got
there in less than two minutes. You can't have a
better response than two minutes. Yeah, and it must have
been the name Pelosi that cause that it had been
just an unknown thing. Who knows what would happen. But
I didn't get the sense at all that the nine
one one operator knew that the name Pelosi. I didn't
(05:43):
get that sense, did you. She might have been confused
enough to ask somebody and then somebody else's supervisors. Somebody
must have told her right. Well, actually, Paul Pelosi said
to the operator, identified now as Heather Grimes, is the
Capitol Police around their use only hear at the house
protecting my wife, so that he did indicate who he
(06:04):
was that way to the operator. Yeah, he definitely was
speaking in code. Betsy, I agree completely, And I'm not
sure if the operator, and this is not a criticism,
she did the right thing, just out of an abundance
of caution. She sent the police, but you could tell
she wasn't quite sure if this was really an emergency. Frankly,
he's alive today because everybody except the hammer wielder did
(06:27):
the right thing. Yeah, that's really well said, I agree
with you too. And then that raises the question. I
mean the video, the surveillance video, Mark, what did you
think of the beating in the back of that door
like that? And then when the cops says put the
hammer down, that's when the attack happened. Now, again, a
very different we were told very different things, we were
(06:50):
reading very different things. Oh that may he very nonchalantly said, oh,
come on in, guys, And that was not the situation
at all. In a sense. He was like hostage, you know,
in a bank and the guy has a gun, and
he knows the guy's got a gun, and it's so
he's got handcuffs on his mouth, he can't speak. He
was a hostage. Yeah, that's true, he was. Yeah, but
(07:11):
you also got to wonder how you could be Speaker
of the House, your second in line for the presidency
after the president. Most probably the why they wouldn't be
a guard on that house, why you wouldn't have better
security on your home that's the most shocking part. That
is a good point, Mark, I'm stunned me too. That
makes three of us. And you know what, I don't understand.
(07:34):
And this was what was frustrating because the nine I'm sorry,
the jan six Committee got politicized. They never got to
the heart of how do we ever prevent this from
happening again. They never brought in the Capitol police chief,
They never brought in the sergeant at arms. They never
got Polosi's texts, emails, phone calls at that time she's
in charge of security. They never got Muriel Bowser, you know,
(07:56):
asking well, why didn't you why did you reject in
writing any National Guard being called up? They we now
found out they had a lot of intelligence ahead of time.
But if it wasn't politicized, they might have asked those
questions to take measures to prevent it from ever happening again.
And even still, I think the answer is through the
(08:18):
exact day to the capital what we've done with the
White House, and that as you cordon off the area
and you have a point of entry and make it
impenetrable in terms of you know, encompassing the entire the
entire capital. That's my take well, I think that it's
even clearer than that, Sean said. Nancy Pelosi and the
(08:39):
Democrats pointedly directed the investigation away from why the capital
was insufficiently guarded and why the Capitol police and other
law enforcement did not respond in a more timely way.
It's as if she was facilitating the attack. Did well,
I'm about on January sixth. I'm just saying, if we look,
(09:04):
they could have politicized it as much as they want. Fine,
they wanted a bludgeon Trump. That was obvious when they
kept when they kept Jim Jordan and Jim Banks off
the committee, it was clear that this had a political agenda.
But while they were doing that part, they also had
an obligation to do the other part, and they wanted
no part of that. Because the intelligence according to all reports,
(09:28):
Mark Simone, they had information in the weeks leading up
to January sixth, the people were plotting and planning and scheming,
you know, something for that day. Yeah. Nobody remembers. May
of twenty twenty, Antifa rioters, protesters from hundreds of thousand
tried to go to the White House and come over
that fence. Donald Trump had military, the Secret Service, and
(09:50):
it was a big battle. Sixty Secret servicemen and women
went to the hospital that night. So he saved the
White House that night. You remember, the Lincoln Memorial was
to be at the target of a big protest, and
there's that famous picture you can find it online of
military surrounding the Lincoln Memorial. They saved it that night.
And I don't know why the Capitol and Pelosi and
company didn't learn their lessons from those two incidents. Yeah,
(10:14):
I mean that's the point. All right, quick break Moore
with Betsy McCoy and Mark Simone than your calls coming
up eight hundred and nine four one, Sean. If you
want to be a part of the program, we'll have
full coverage right after the release of these tapes in
Memphis tonight on Hannity on the Fox News Channel. I

(11:42):
with Betsy mccoye and Mark Simone. Later we'll check in
with Leo two point z Terrell on this on both
these issues, Memphis and of course the Pelosi tape that
was released earlier today. We'll get to your calls also
when we get back eight hundred nine for one sean.
But we continue with Mark some Own and Betsy McCoy.
Let's shift gears a little bit. We're going to have
(12:04):
this tape released. Everybody that has spoken publicly about it,
from the family, to the lawyers, to the Memphis police
chief or all since the fact that they were charged
immediately with second degree murder. I have to assume Betsy
was based solely on the viewing of these these police
camera quarters that they have. Well, that's right, and of
(12:26):
course seeing the victim himself. I'm a very strong supporter
of the men in blue, men and women in blue,
But in this instance, it does appear just an appearance
so far that these fis well, it appears based on
the statement of those people that have seen it. We
haven't seen it. That's right, we have not seen it.
But you know, five bad cops does not make all
(12:49):
the cops in the United States bad, And I know
that there are many cops out there today who certainly
wish that this had not happened. And what do you
think we're going to see in Memphis and around the
country to night Mark Simona. If it's as bad as
people say, I mean, I know many cities are bracing
for the worst as they should. They should be prepared.
I know in Atlanta, for example, they called up the
(13:11):
National Guard. I applaud the governor for that, especially in
light of what happened a couple of weekends ago. Yeah,
when Joe Biden or just calm, I get nervous. But
you know, listen to some still some bad cops out there,
But it's the good news is it's one percent of
one percent, very few, and there's no racial element here.
Everybody involved, the victims, the accused, the commissioner, they're all
(13:32):
the same race, so it's not a racial element. But
I hate to picture Democrats, the committee whoever runs this
White House plotting right now, how to take advantage of this?
How to politicize this? Who knows, but everybody should be ongoing.
How do you politicize this? I mean, the problem is,
if you go back to the summer of twenty twenty,
we have five hundred and seventy four riots, thousands of
(13:52):
injured cops, dozens of dat Americans, and billions of property
damage and nobody wanted to even call these the riots
what they were riots. And then you have people like
Kamala Harris even going a step further and tweeting out
the bail fund after the guy you know, burned down
the police precinct. And but Mark is right, it's a
(14:13):
cynical prediction, but probably an apt prediction that the Democratic
Party will use this as an excuse for more defund
the police, disarm the police, eliminate the police. Just the
opposite of what people of all colors, but particularly disadvantage
groups need. They need law enforcement, they need protection in
(14:35):
their neighborhoods. Yeah, I think that's a lot of it. Anyway,
we can only hope and pray that, you know, people,
if they're going to protest, that they'll be peaceful. The
confidence that I have after the summer of twenty twenty
is not high, and I'm not sure where this is headed.
And you know, you know, pray for the country tonight. Marks.
(14:57):
I'm on, I don't know what's going to happen. It
doesn't sound, it doesn't look good. And if it's as
bad as people are saying, anything could happen. Yeah. Again,
Democrats like to exploit things. Also the Black Lives Matter
leaders have a bunch of mansions. Now you never know
who's looking at that wanting to start a new group,
trying to cash in on this. So everybody's going to
(15:18):
be careful. Well, Black Lives Matter, are they going to
be involved in this protest that or is this only
Black Lives Matter when the race of the police officers
happens to be different. Yeah, Well the concern is another
new want to be Al Sharpton or Black Lives Matter
coming along and trying to exploit this. Everybody's going to
(15:39):
be on guard. Yeah, what do you think we're expecting tonight.
Betsy McCoy, Well, I agree with you that it could
be bad, but I don't want to predict that it's
going to be bad because the fact is, the people
who suffer most when we have these race riots, they're
not the wealthy people in the suburbs. It's people struggling
to open a business. It's people living in low income areas.
(16:02):
It's people who would depend on public transportation in the
inner cities. They're the ones who suffered the most when
we have these burned down neighborhoods. And I hope it
does not happen all right, Well, we appreciate your time,
both of you. Mark Simone, thank you, Betsy McCoy. Always
appreciate having you both on the program. Have a good weekend,
(16:23):
and we'll be watching tonight. We'll be live on Hannity
tonight at nine eastern. We'll have the very latest on
all of this. I'm twenty five to the top of
the hour. Thank you for being with us this Friday.
We'll get to your calls here in a second. Eight
hundred nine pour one. Sean, the tapes in Memphis not
expected to be released until about seven pm Eastern. I'm
(16:45):
not sure why they would have released this on a
Friday night, heading into a weekend, not exactly, in my view,
the most prudent time to do so. But that's the choice,
the decision that they have made. And so we'll have
full cover of this many cities of bracing for possible
unrest tonight. We hope that's not the case. All right,
(17:05):
Let's get to our busy, busy telephones. Patty is in Illinois. Patty,
glad you called. Thanks for checking in. I would say
happy Friday, but I'm not that happy. I agree with you, Sean,
and I haven't got to talk with you yet this year,
So happy new Year to you. I hope you're doing well.
I love your show. Happy new Year, thank you. I
(17:26):
couldn't do this without your helpe. Well, like you said,
seems like not too happy of a Friday, and with
everything you know out and then what's to come tonight,
that's kind of scary. But to talk about what you
guys were talking about earlier with Paul Pelosi, the tape
and the nine one one calls, my job dropped literally,
(17:51):
you know again when he first was hurt and his
first came out my heart, you know, prayers went out
to the family. No one wants anyone to be hurt
like that. But from what I looked at, he looked
like he was in dress. The calls, I agree with
what you were saying earlier, definitely talking in code. My
(18:11):
question is, again, we're always seeming to learn these things
after the fact. Why wasn't there some type of dispatch
that told them right away that hey, this is a
high profile you know. And again you can't blame every
nine one one operator they're not sure. I give the
(18:32):
person a lot of credit for sending someone out there,
but I was just totally shocked by it all, I
would agree with you. You would think, you know, the
second in line to the presidency. And I had said
this before. I think every speaker should have full time security,
and that should include constant security at their house, even
(18:54):
if it's just one or two officers. It's it just
seems to make sense to me, and it's unfathomable that
she didn't have it. Now one of the reasons the speaker,
you know, we would we chronicled the fact that she
would take a government jet to and from San Francisco
all the time. So if you've taken that expense, that
level of expense for travel for her, and they do
(19:17):
travel congressmen and women back and forth a lot from
their districts to Washington, and she's going in a government
paid for a private jet, which I'm not against at all.
I think is just prudent and smart. We've seen incidences,
you know, Mitt Romney being basically harassed in a in
a terminal at an airport. I've had similar experience as
(19:39):
at times myself in my life. People are painting them,
you know what. And in this case, Ted Cruz has
gone through it, a lot of Lindsay Graham's gone through
all of them. And you know what, if I see
a liberal politician or a liberal commentator in an airport,
I'm gonna say, hey, how are you? How's everything? That's it?
Leave people alone? Yeah, And now in this day and
(19:59):
age age, and it's sad. You know, I still believe
in the goodness and humanity of people. I know it's
out there. I see it. I've witnessed it myself. But
at the same time, we know that there's bad actors
out there. So I think that again, I'm a conservative.
I vote Republican. I try to always vote my values
(20:24):
of what I feel my beliefs. I'm not saying that,
you know, the Democrats are They're all, you know, wrong,
but their policies don't align with mine. But that being said,
I wouldn't want to wish any harm or wrong on anybody,
and I agree with you. I think that we need
to have protection for the speaker. We need to have
(20:50):
protection that helps keep people safe, especially when, like you said,
you know, two heartbeats away from being the president. I'm
just shocked over the video. It just it. My jaw
literally dropped in and then with tonight, Sean, I am
(21:10):
going to be saying prayers. I know you're a Christian.
I know you pray every day. I'm praying for peace.
I am praying for peace and for the family of Kyrie.
My heart goes out to him. But I'm really saddened
that picture of that young man and that hospital. But
if that doesn't break your heart, you don't have a heart.
(21:31):
And that that can't happen when you have five five police,
you know. Anyway, thank you for a very thoughtful call.
I could tell Patty you have a heart of goal.
God blush you and have a great weekend. And I
hope your prayers and our prayers are answered that nothing
comes out of this. You can't look at that picture
of that young man and say that this is you know,
on the surface, How did it come to this? Nobody
(21:54):
ever made an accusation. And now, if he had had
a pistol, if he was armed, if they were in
the middle of trying to disarm him, and there was
that kind of that didn't happen here. Nobody has claimed
that that's happened here. But everybody that has spoken about
this Memphis tape is all saying the same thing. Um
so we'll see tonight. Unfortunately, UM it doesn't sound good
(22:16):
at all. Uh, Big Time AJ, Houston, Texas. How are
you big time, big time Sean Hannity here? Hey, Hey,
by the way, you're city of Houston, and you know
I love Houston, and you know my niece lives in Houston.
And um, I couldn't believe it. It was voted the
dirtiest city in America. I mean, what's up with that?
(22:37):
Sean knew their jersey was second. Hey, hey, you can't
believe everything you hear on the de I'm just I've
read the article. I'm just telling you. I don't know
if it is or not. They blaming we're fineries for it,
so it's probably some climate alarmist cult propaganda. But who knows.
You already know, Sean, you already know so goud I
(22:58):
live here. I think it is a beautiful We got
a beautiful city, even though we got a few bombs
out there and everything that got the stuff a little bit. Yeah,
but we got great Americans like Big Time AJ in Houston.
You know what that makes? That raises the bar of
my mind. Yes, sir, Hey, but Sean, let me tell you,
(23:18):
as the brothers say, here we go again. And you know,
my heart breaks. So when I looked at the picture
of the fella in there and Nancy Pelosi, now my
ramble and Nancy Pelosi then that the house should be
protected like them documents at Biden's house should have been
not there. But at the same time, don't underestimate the
(23:40):
Democrats to use this as to get us off of
what Joe Biden them and they have done to us
for the last what going on three years now to
this country. And this is why all these people are
in such a crazy mold. We've seen some crazy stuff
in these last two years because of the pollen sees,
the borders wide open, everybody is lawlessness going on, everything
(24:05):
is done, and the Democrats that's run these cities, they
don't do nothing to stop everything. Man, As I always say,
Sean Rick Quicks, you know, everybody, I'm gonna tell y'all,
when you get stopped by the police, comply and do
the first step of complying. And then if then if
somebody due to a crazy craft, you'll be able to
(24:29):
get a lawyer and do your too. But don't give
these people a reason to do other actions after the
first action. Just comply people, that's all, and just hopefully
but it don't stop for what this what we see
and that that young fellow in that hospital. I'm hoping Sean,
that I didn't. I hope this video is gonna show
(24:51):
what I think it's gonna show. If everybody's saying what
you're saying, Sean, if that the case is really something
going on bad in this country and we shouldn't. You
mean you live this long life. We didn't live this
life to see this, and we didn't. Our troops and
all them didn't die to make America the most greatest
country in the world. For us to come out like this,
(25:11):
this is unbelievable. But I hope the media don't do
the persecution until we find out. Like you always say,
let's find let's see it. Let's find out the fact
and hope justice be done. If the if the situation,
because they I just don't want I'm not gonna see
until I see the video that I'm gonna put it
that way, Sean. I'm not gonna do what the media
(25:34):
do override things. I'm gonna wait and see it. Well,
it's not just the media when when you have the
police acting as quickly as they did upon seeing the video,
the bodycam video and the police chief saying what she
had to say, and everybody else that's se has seen
the saying the same thing, that it defies humanity and
(25:56):
it's really that bad. I don't don't know what what
what could possibly be going through these officers minds. The
police that I know, people in law enforcement that I know,
are not like what they're describing. It just not And
I'm not saying that that they're not guilty. If I'm
(26:17):
listening to everybody so far, there's not been a single
exception of anybody that's seen this video. There's no contradictions here.
Everybody seems to be in full agreement. Is going to
be really bad tonight when we see this thing, and
I know people's emotions are going to be running high.
But you know, I would ask all the people in
(26:39):
all the different cities that might be gathering and might
be protesting, and those that might want to, you know,
use the situation and somehow respond violently. You tell me
how that's gonna change anything. I will tell you this,
and I've said it many times before. Our officers are
not trained at all. I know I'm not. Look, I'm
(27:01):
a student of the martial arts. I practice an eclectic blend.
I do situational street fighting and situational self defense every
single solitary day, and these I would know way more
than these officers because they don't take the time. Now,
the other thing is so that means for those officers,
(27:23):
they're they're only defense is usually you know, either a
baton or a firearm. You know, I've been pushing you
know this company Burner. I have no financial interest in it,
but they have the means of stopping people with projectiles,
and they now have shotgun show projectiles you can use
(27:43):
in your twelve gay shotgun, your own gun. But and
they are projectiles with tear gas and two pepper sprays
that do incapacitate people. And I've never been a big
fan of the stun gun or the tape because that's
close quarter fighting. At that point, you don't person might
(28:04):
grab it and use it on you. I know from
my the use of my Burner, and you can check
it out for yourself. B y R n a UM.
We'll put it up a link on my website. You
can put up the new link to put up the one.
I think it's a good opportunity for me to make
fun of your accent because you're saying burner, Berna, are
(28:25):
you done? Thank you Quala for laughing. The cola would
be aj the cola. I know it's a. It's the cola. Okay,
I got it. Listen. I'm just praying for peace tonight.
I hate to see our cities in conflict like this,
our country and conflict like this. Say in press tonight,
(28:46):
big time, God bless you, my friend. Don't let five people.
Don't let five mess up your city living for what
five possibly have done. People don't make other people pay
for what five done. Let's let the oh take care
of his business. Love you, shine, and keep up the
good work. Thank you big time. Appreciate it, my friend. Hey,
if you want to save money, these are tough economic times.
(29:09):
One way to do it not sacrifice any service whatsoever,
is get my cell phone company. And that's Pure Talk.
And it's a veteran owned company with the best customer
based service team located here in the US. And if
you are sticking with big carriers Verizon AT and T
T Mobile, you're probably paying twice as much as what
(29:30):

Will you're on the Sean Hannity Show, Thanks for checking in.
How are you good? How are you Sean? I'm good, sir.
What's happening? I totally agree with you and the call
of previous, but I thought the topic was Paul Pelosi,
(30:37):
So that's kind of what I had a few questions
for you about, right, what's on your mind? Well, I
think the time mine from when Paul called in till
the time you police got there, that was only eight minutes.
That's pretty remarkable because I thought the nine one one
operated was really quite I mean she was acting like, Okay,
(30:59):
we'll call you back or something like that, or call
if you need us at first. But yeah, well, remember
he's in a very difficult situation. It's obvious that he's
on a speaker phone because we hear the assailant's voice,
so he's trying to speak in code to the operator,
and the operator saying are you in danger? He can't
answer yes without an imminent attack. That's why he's trying
(31:22):
to speak in code. And usually the Capitol police say here.
So I don't really blame him, but i'll give you
the final thought, go ahead. Well, I was just thinking
that a trained nine one one operate would notice that immediately.
And obviously she did really good because the response time
was eight minutes. And from that time on, I think
(31:42):
the police they can't say anything against the police. I
heard a couple of commentators say something that the police
didn't act quick enough. Man. They acted absolutely as fast
as they could and they and as soon as they
said put down the hammer. The guy attacked Paul Pelosi.
So it was very different by the way, as it
was tribed early on an early reporting, which tells you
(32:03):
again that you can't count on reports like this anyway.
Glad you called my friend eight hundred nine for one.
