Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's the Best a billion Lisa in the Morning.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
Hey, guys, welcome into the Best of Billy and Lisa
in the Morning. It's producer Riley. Happy Saturday. The sun
is shining, the birds are chirping, it's nice and warm,
and next week is going to be hot, so get
ready for that. Well, Billy's been talking about this show
for quite a while, and usually the shows that he
likes don't take off the way that this one did.
It's called The Hunting Wives on Netflix, and a lot
(00:25):
of people are watching it, so we had to talk
about it.
Speaker 3 (00:27):
It's number five.
Speaker 4 (00:28):
So I found totally by accident. I found this show,
The Hunting Wives. Now you have to understand I didn't
go looking for it, okay, and I didn't know at
the time it was going to become the big sensation
that it has.
Speaker 5 (00:39):
So I haven't watched it yet. So tell me why
I should be watching.
Speaker 6 (00:42):
It, Okay.
Speaker 4 (00:43):
Well, you know how when you go to Netflix in
one of the apps, and you go to Netflix and
all of the shows and the movies are in boxes,
and then when you hit the box, they give you.
Speaker 6 (00:51):
A little descriptive of what the show is about.
Speaker 4 (00:54):
And I was alone at home and searching for something
to watch, and there well, and I saw the descriptive
and I said, oh, you know what, I'll give it
a try. And justin you and I were looking at
some video clips from The Hunting Wives this morning.
Speaker 6 (01:11):
Hey, first time talkbacker.
Speaker 7 (01:13):
Just want to talk about The Hunting Wives. I watched
it all in two days, and I still feel like
I'm living in that little Texas town. Absolutely obsessed. One
of the most entertaining shows I've ever seen.
Speaker 4 (01:23):
It's funny, he says that because I finished the entire
season in a very fast time. It's like you almost
had to go from episode to episode. You couldn't stop.
Speaker 8 (01:31):
It's very bingeable.
Speaker 9 (01:33):
Billy told me on Friday, and me and my boyfriend
watched it Saturday and Sunday, so we watched like four
each day. They only eat it episodes. It's so good.
It's like a solid nine and a half out of ten.
How long are the episode about forty five minutes?
Speaker 10 (01:45):
Yeah?
Speaker 8 (01:45):
Yeah, very quick.
Speaker 7 (01:46):
Watch morning, guys. This is Carlos Billy. This is for you.
Speaker 11 (01:50):
I was watching that show, The Hunting Wife. Pretty crazy
show man now because of the sex and all the
crazy stuff that was happening. But because of the twist,
they ass it's pretty good.
Speaker 4 (02:01):
Now when Carlos says, Billy, this is a show for you, like,
what does he.
Speaker 6 (02:07):
Mean by that?
Speaker 8 (02:08):
Because alat of drama.
Speaker 4 (02:09):
I was blown away by the sex scenes, like they
just keep coming.
Speaker 9 (02:16):
It's not appropriate, by the way, I would say for
anybody under like seventeen, like like, don't watch it with
your high schooler.
Speaker 8 (02:23):
It's not it's not it it's.
Speaker 9 (02:24):
Very There's a lot of sex, there's a lot of inappropriate.
Speaker 8 (02:28):
This drug use, there's you know, I was the gun use.
So there's a lot going on.
Speaker 7 (02:33):
I told you Billy Costa would love Hunting Wise.
Speaker 8 (02:36):
The launchiness is like a tank so hot, have.
Speaker 3 (02:40):
A great day, Like I need to rush home and
watch it.
Speaker 4 (02:43):
But again, why does everybody think it's perfect for me
because of the raunchiness Because you love.
Speaker 3 (02:48):
The Handmaid's Tail.
Speaker 5 (02:50):
You watched the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders documentary that was a
brief thing.
Speaker 3 (02:55):
Yeah, you're into this kind of stuff.
Speaker 12 (02:57):
Do you think Hunting Wise is? Try watching Unspeakable Sins.
It's worth Oh.
Speaker 6 (03:07):
My god, I almost went there yesterday.
Speaker 4 (03:10):
I kept looking going back to the box Unspeakable Sins
and the descriptive and I'm like, is this something I
would like?
Speaker 8 (03:17):
Oh, I think that's one's a dub and I don't
like dubbed.
Speaker 9 (03:20):
It's hardy that act to get into it when I
know it's like a different language and they're like dubbing
it and the mouth doesn't match up to the words.
Speaker 4 (03:27):
Yeah, the dubbing is starting to bug me because like
more often than not now they are shows from some
other part of the world. Yeah, it's distracted and the
mouth doesn't match the words. But unspeakable sins. I'm telling you.
Every time I go on Netflix, I say, should I
go there?
Speaker 8 (03:41):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (03:42):
All right, well you got me hooked.
Speaker 5 (03:43):
I'm going to watch The Hunting Wives after I read
the ten books that I have to read.
Speaker 9 (03:47):
Okay, for the book, I might be a while, but
it has everything for a good you know, sex, drugs
and hunting.
Speaker 6 (03:54):
Lisa, I would put off the books. Yeah you can again. Okay.
I just saying, I like a.
Speaker 2 (04:02):
Lesbian, you know when you sometimes just need a little
pick me up. Well, that's how we were feeling in
this one. Hey, it's producer Riley from Billy and Lisa
in the Morning cuting down the top five moments of
the week. And live on air, requested by our very
own Lisa Donovan. The team did smelling salts. It's number four, justin.
Speaker 4 (04:19):
We're going to administer smelling salts to Lisa Donovan. This
has never been done live on a morning show to
my knowledge effort, but it could be a first.
Speaker 6 (04:28):
And what are these smelling salts? Again?
Speaker 10 (04:29):
Justin?
Speaker 7 (04:30):
Well, hold on, you're not doing it either. I mean
you're not doing it too.
Speaker 4 (04:33):
Oh I'm supposed to be in on this too, everybody,
I'm very fragile.
Speaker 7 (04:37):
Well, there's a story out today that the NFL has
banned smelling salts at games so players can't use them,
you know, on the sidelines. And smelling salts, it's essentially
just ammonia in a bottle that you smell. It's used
in weightlifting and it just wakes you up. It kind
of gives you a burst of energy.
Speaker 6 (04:53):
And these particular smelling salts have a name.
Speaker 7 (04:55):
Yeah, these ones are called ah in the the world's
strongest smelling salt.
Speaker 6 (05:00):
I'm bringing.
Speaker 7 (05:00):
So these are what's These are what helped me deadlift
five hundred pounds. Just so you know, that's my pr
on deadlift.
Speaker 4 (05:06):
So you're saying record if I snort the smelling salt.
I could probably deadlift Lisa down of it.
Speaker 7 (05:12):
You could probably do like fifty.
Speaker 8 (05:13):
Pounds dead Lisa. Now that's an issue.
Speaker 7 (05:17):
Yeah, but I did five hundred. I did five hundred
with these.
Speaker 10 (05:20):
Hey, justin keep on up sniffing that salt.
Speaker 6 (05:23):
Maybe if you tried.
Speaker 13 (05:24):
Eating the salt, you can do five five.
Speaker 4 (05:29):
Good job, brother, Well you get twenty five, twenty five up?
Speaker 3 (05:35):
Okay, all right, so are you doing this with me?
Speaker 6 (05:37):
But I guess I am.
Speaker 10 (05:39):
So.
Speaker 6 (05:39):
Do you just smell the bottle?
Speaker 7 (05:41):
Okay, here we go, So you have the cover off,
Lisa is holding the bottle.
Speaker 6 (05:44):
Yeah, okay, bottle.
Speaker 7 (05:45):
So you're gonna don't do it yet, but you're gonna
bring the bottle right to the right to your nose
and one big inhale just like that.
Speaker 3 (05:53):
And how long does this like high?
Speaker 9 (05:55):
Last?
Speaker 7 (05:55):
It's not a high and it'll just wake you up, okay,
last couple of seconds.
Speaker 6 (05:58):
Okay, Is there a chance she could pass out?
Speaker 7 (06:01):
No? I don't think so. They've also been sitting for
a while, so the potency has kind of decreased.
Speaker 3 (06:06):
Okay, so maybe it's not a fifty sniff.
Speaker 7 (06:09):
You got right up to the close to it.
Speaker 3 (06:11):
Okay, oh boy, oh my god. No, it's like really potent.
I'll do it again.
Speaker 10 (06:19):
Oh.
Speaker 3 (06:19):
It really clears out your nasal.
Speaker 8 (06:21):
Pass I need that.
Speaker 6 (06:24):
You should do it.
Speaker 3 (06:24):
We should around, all.
Speaker 6 (06:26):
Right, Bill, big big sniff sniff me.
Speaker 8 (06:30):
A group sniff meant something very different for justice.
Speaker 6 (06:34):
Absolutely, I need to gather myself.
Speaker 7 (06:40):
You can do it right to the nostril, okay, big sniff.
Oh yeah, oh there it is.
Speaker 6 (06:49):
Well, Oh my god, we have this on camera.
Speaker 3 (06:51):
Yeah yeah right, it gets right.
Speaker 6 (06:54):
Up in there.
Speaker 7 (06:56):
Don't you feel perky?
Speaker 5 (06:58):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (06:58):
Your nose.
Speaker 5 (06:59):
Its basically completely opens up your nail passage.
Speaker 7 (07:02):
Yeah, it kind of shocks your brain.
Speaker 6 (07:05):
Smells like a really strong urine.
Speaker 8 (07:09):
I'm not doing it's ammonia.
Speaker 6 (07:11):
Yeah all right, big sniff, big, you know what the
good biggest.
Speaker 3 (07:22):
We all survived.
Speaker 6 (07:24):
I thought for sure she was.
Speaker 9 (07:25):
Going to projectile, so one more time, really did not addicted, No,
because I was gonna have a stuppy nose.
Speaker 8 (07:32):
I think with the haze from the fire.
Speaker 7 (07:34):
Just put it right up there.
Speaker 5 (07:36):
Oh how many times can you actually do it?
Speaker 7 (07:40):
You don't do it anymore. It's meant to be done once.
You shouldn't do it twice.
Speaker 4 (07:45):
Wasn't the original purpose of smelling salts to wave somebody
up who had fainted.
Speaker 3 (07:50):
Or definitely, yeah, that would work.
Speaker 8 (07:52):
That would work if I fainted.
Speaker 6 (07:54):
God, let me ask you something, justin you're the expert.
This is your bottle? Where do they come from?
Speaker 7 (08:02):
The ammonia well, like, it's it's ammonia rocks like g
n C.
Speaker 8 (08:08):
Did they sell it like vitamin store?
Speaker 7 (08:10):
Now you get them on the black market?
Speaker 6 (08:12):
Nothing, it makes you feel better. It's he just broke
a law.
Speaker 7 (08:21):
But I don't think you can go into a store
and buy them.
Speaker 4 (08:24):
Okay, yeah, not only my chest feels awkward today.
Speaker 7 (08:30):
You're being crazy, Okay, Lisa, I told you.
Speaker 2 (08:37):
Hey, guys, it's producer Riley from Billy and Lisa in
the Morning counting down the top five moments of the
week with you. Let's get right into number three because
if you are on Instagram, you want to listen up.
So they have a new feature regarding your location, and
there are ways to turn it off. Lisa has the details.
Speaker 5 (08:52):
So if you look up into your like where you
would post a story, you'll see, uh, the picture of
a globe. Okay, so if you click on it, that
will now share your location. So it's basically Instagram's version
of snap map, which all the young kids use, so
you can see where all your friends are. So the
PSA is, if you don't want your location shared, you
(09:17):
need to make sure it's not being shared.
Speaker 6 (09:19):
I certainly don't want mine shared.
Speaker 3 (09:21):
I don't want mine either, So you.
Speaker 6 (09:23):
Have to have the app updated.
Speaker 7 (09:25):
And what's happening is that most people don't have the
location turned on, but some people it's automatically turning on.
That means all of your followers can see where you
are every time you log into Instagram, which is a
big issue.
Speaker 6 (09:38):
Instagram is now automatically sharing your precise location with all
your followers. That means anyone can see where you live,
what you do, where you work, all your daily routines.
Speaker 3 (09:47):
Yeah, and a lot of people are not aware of it.
Speaker 7 (09:50):
Yeah, they have no idea. My app updates automatically, so
I didn't have to go and and manually update the app.
It automatically does it. So Luckily I wasn't sharing my location.
Speaker 3 (10:00):
Right, I wasn't either, Not that anyone.
Speaker 6 (10:01):
Really cares where I am, But how do I unshare mine?
Speaker 8 (10:05):
The check mine wasn't sharing either. You might not be
sharing with chet you can check billies.
Speaker 7 (10:09):
Just look for the map icon. So if you're on
your Instagram screen there, just swipe over to the right
there and you'll see like you know those weird notes
that people write, you know those notes? Yeah, yeah, messages there,
there's a maps thing there. I just click that and
it'll say if you're sharing it or not, and you
can choose to share it with people, your friends, but
you have to be following them.
Speaker 5 (10:29):
Yeah, that's the purpose of it. But it's also a
security risk. I think that there are a lot of
like Instagram has such a wide range of users in
age groups. Yeah that I think a lot of people
are not aware of this huge Yeah.
Speaker 9 (10:41):
And if you're a public figure or anyone at the
public page and don't follow you, they can see you.
Speaker 7 (10:47):
It's dangerous. Yeah, it's dangerous.
Speaker 4 (10:49):
And although I know my phone all day every day,
all that constantly says is a software update.
Speaker 6 (10:57):
Like you have an Android phone.
Speaker 4 (10:58):
No matter how many I update, another update comes up
in about twenty seconds.
Speaker 6 (11:04):
Yeah, what is that? Everything's a scam?
Speaker 5 (11:07):
Well, he's I think Billy's clicking on stuff that he
shouldn't be clicking on.
Speaker 7 (11:10):
Yeah, it's tough. It's tough because some things look like
they're legit links and stuff. They look like news stories.
And Billy, you're you're a news guy. Yeah you see
a story that interesting link. I click on stories, news
stories all the time. Yeah, but I get weird stories
like of weird people. You know, Lisa sees it all
the time, says where did you get that? Why did
(11:31):
you get that?
Speaker 1 (11:32):
Rat?
Speaker 7 (11:32):
So for all the people listening right now, if you
have Instagram, check it.
Speaker 2 (11:35):
Hey, guys, welcome back into the Top five Moments of
the week. It's producer Riley from Billy and Lisa in
the Morning. And sometimes things just work out so perfectly
for us.
Speaker 14 (11:45):
You know.
Speaker 2 (11:45):
The Braintree American Little League team is off to Williams
Sport and guess who called in? It's number two gets away.
Speaker 6 (11:52):
From the catcher. Here comes for solil treats runs.
Speaker 4 (12:01):
Braintree Little League team is going to Williamsport and the
Little League World Series. And guess who was listening to
this show this morning, Well one of the coaches, PJ.
Speaker 6 (12:12):
We've got them on the line now, PJ, you there.
Speaker 10 (12:14):
I'm here. How are you guys doing? And I just
want I just want to say we're Braintree American Little League.
Speaker 6 (12:20):
I know I probably should have said that. I'm sorry,
but that's all right.
Speaker 10 (12:24):
Uh. The mother in law is a huge fan of
you us, so she was like, you gotta.
Speaker 6 (12:28):
Call in Wow. So, uh this is it. So do
you live in Braintree, coach?
Speaker 10 (12:33):
I do. Yeah, yeah, we all live in Braintree. We
all live in you know, Braintree's kind of cut in
half with you know, a line for baseball and you
know we all live in you know, Uh, I don't
know sell Braintree Highlands area.
Speaker 4 (12:47):
Yeah, American, your excuse us, you're in the Highlands.
Speaker 10 (12:53):
It's like the Beverly Hills.
Speaker 4 (12:57):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (12:58):
So, PJ. You're the first play coach, right, yes, sir?
How long you been coaching the squad.
Speaker 10 (13:06):
I've been with this team since they were seven eight
years old. We won the Friendship League at eight years old,
and then since then we've you know, won a couple
of tournaments. We have not done anything like in the
state tournament. We've got a hotsbroken and section and the
district tournament the last couple of years. And last year
at eleven, we lost the district final on our own
(13:26):
home field. And I think that's kind of what's stuck
with us and drove us this year.
Speaker 6 (13:31):
I got to ask you, PJ, do you have a
get on the team?
Speaker 10 (13:35):
I do. My son all on place first base and pitches. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (13:40):
How are the kids feeling?
Speaker 10 (13:42):
The kids are great. They're all exhausted. They're all sleeping
in the back of the bus. Now we're on a
beautiful coach bus, a little league provided. We got on
the bus at six forty five to head to Williams Sport.
It's about a five hour drive.
Speaker 6 (13:54):
Wait a minute, you're on the team bus as we speak.
Speaker 10 (13:58):
Yes, I'm on the team bus because I'm prout of
the team.
Speaker 4 (14:01):
The kids are waking you get them all the yelling,
scream like they just oh, wake them up. But the
Billy and Lisa Morning Show a three year anniversary show.
Speaker 7 (14:09):
Coach, how's Frankie Fazoli doing.
Speaker 10 (14:11):
Frankie's doing great. I mean, he did a lot of
media last night. But you know, it's just Frankie. You know,
he he's our best base runner. So in that that
extra ending, you know when they put the ghost around
second base, you know, I just had I had a
good feeling about it because you know, he's a very
(14:31):
smart baseball player. And you know the I think the
last play, when the catcher saw Frankie coming, he panicked,
overthrew his you know, his three teammates, and then you know,
it opened up for Frankie to score on you know,
elation like a team like it was. It was just
an awesome feeling, the best feeling I've ever had an
(14:53):
athletics for sure.
Speaker 4 (14:54):
I got to tell you, coach, I mean, you guys
scored twenty five runs in two games, never allowed a
single run. When I saw that you had gone into
extra innings with New Hampshire last night, I'm like, whoa,
this is a surprise, But you can't possibly have a
more exciting win than a pass ball walk off to
(15:15):
win it.
Speaker 10 (15:16):
Yeah, it was. It was unbelievable. I mean, the first
three teams, Mean and Vermont, not to take anything away
from them, but you know, you know, I think Baseball
and Massachusetts is a little different than baseball and and
Maine and Vermont and uh in New Hampshire to you know,
I think they did a lot of scouting on us,
and you know, they they really pitched each kid with purpose.
(15:38):
The pitch was good, you know, his personality was not good,
and you know, I thought they, you know, kind of
took a couple of shots at us too, but we
withstood it and you know, did what we had to
do and we beat them on the school board.
Speaker 4 (15:51):
That's the way, you know, those New Hampshire kids over
the border in New Hampshire. I don't know what to expect,
you know what I'm talking about, PJ. This is just
two guys talking.
Speaker 10 (15:59):
Definitely, I like, I like go to Amster for vacation.
Speaker 6 (16:03):
Yeah, who doesn't.
Speaker 7 (16:04):
Yeah, Well, off to Williams. Williams port Man.
Speaker 4 (16:08):
Have you even thought about possibly winning a World Series?
Speaker 10 (16:13):
Yeah? No, I think it's definitely something that we're thinking
about now, you know, getting through We've just taking it
one game at a time. I know it's freaky cliche,
but I think you know, our goal is always to
win the next game, so you know that that's our goal.
So we play the Southeast, so I have to believe
it's South Carolina in our first game and we played
Thursday at three o'clock on it.
Speaker 4 (16:33):
Yeah, yeah, so you got South Carolina in the first game.
Have you done some scouting? What's the deal with these kids?
Speaker 10 (16:40):
We just we watched them beat Florida in uh in
devastating fashion in the sixth inning. And uh so, you
know they're a good team too. And you know, I
think we've been in some really close games and in
won a lot of games. So I think they're in
the same boat as us. They're probably the best from
South Carolina, and they probably play all year round because
the weather is good down there.
Speaker 4 (16:59):
So you know what we say on what we say
in the Billy and Lisa Morning Show, Coach go Braintree
American onto the World Series.
Speaker 2 (17:09):
All right, well here we are number one Moment of
the weekid's producer Riley from Billy and Lisa in the
Morning cutting down the top five moments of the week
with you. Donnie Wahlberg, good friend of the show. He
finally checked in with us because he was filming in
Boston after Billy nagged him for like weeks.
Speaker 13 (17:25):
Donnie, you there, I am here, Billy.
Speaker 6 (17:28):
Now I gotta ask you, where are you?
Speaker 13 (17:30):
Oh gosh, Well, today I'm in Toronto. Tomorrow I'll be
in Chicago. And I guess last night I was in Boston.
Speaker 4 (17:41):
Yeah, You've been doing a lot of shooting in Boston,
so I didn't know if you were still in town
shooting and I want to start Donnie with an apology.
Speaker 6 (17:49):
Okay, well, because.
Speaker 4 (17:51):
It may have come across it, I was bugging you
to come on the show. And you have to understand, Donnie,
every time your name comes up, and it comes up
almost every day because you're doing so much and traveling
so much, they immediately say, hey, why.
Speaker 6 (18:08):
Don't you just call your buddy Donnie Wahlberg. Right, So
I'm pressure buddy.
Speaker 13 (18:15):
I still think it's an honor. I still take it
as an honor. It's still an amazing treat and I
will never look at you as being a bother billy.
You've always been good to me and the guys and
the new kids, and you're one of the first people
in any position of radio or anything that treated us
with respect and love in that city. And it will
always mean the world to me that you call me
(18:36):
and text me and check in to come on the show.
Speaker 4 (18:38):
Well, I really appreciate that, Donnie, and your family has
really been good to us. I don't know if you
even realize this, but Jenny Johnson and I have a cookbook,
and your brother Mark did the forward to the book.
Speaker 13 (18:51):
Well to see now I have a problem, yeah.
Speaker 4 (18:58):
Hope, see, you know you have early morning sound to
your voice.
Speaker 6 (19:05):
Are you in bed right now, Donnie.
Speaker 13 (19:07):
I actually just got out of the bed because I
think our phone's breaking up a little, so I'm moving
to a different part of the apartment. Yeah. Yeah, it
was a big It was a big week filming in Boston,
and I mean we filmed on the Green Monster. We
filmed in the Boston Common, on the waterfront and Charlestown.
We were everywhere, and I was yelling doing a lot
of stop, please stop, please loud volume, so my voice
(19:34):
is a little beat up this morning.
Speaker 4 (19:35):
Now I got to ask you. Did you and Jenny
FaceTime each other overnight?
Speaker 13 (19:39):
We did? In fact, she's not only did we face time.
I had to hang up on her to take this
call with you, But I was okay doing it because
she's actually gonna come meet me for the weekend around
the weekend together. And yeah, Well.
Speaker 6 (19:56):
I think you have a Wallburgers in Toronto, do you?
Speaker 13 (19:59):
We do you have one? Well, it's actually in the airport,
so I can only really pop in there if I'm
taking a trip, ye, But other words, that's the one
up here. So so when you I try to go
to Wahlberger's once in a while.
Speaker 10 (20:13):
You know, I don't want to.
Speaker 13 (20:13):
Go too much because it could be problematic for me.
I try to stay in really good shape. I don't
work out at like three am like my brother Mark,
but I work out and eat really well and stay fit.
So Wahlberger is like my weekly treat.
Speaker 7 (20:30):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (20:30):
I gotta tell you, Donnie, you look really good. In fact,
I don't think I've ever said this to another man,
but the other day me and Lisa and Winnie were
talking here in the studio and they both said, and
I think you should take this as a compliment. They
both said, you're a dilf.
Speaker 13 (20:50):
Wow. Yeah, well, thank you all so much.
Speaker 6 (20:57):
Yeah, And for the record, Donnie, I do you know it's.
Speaker 13 (21:02):
You know, you know, Billy, We've always shared that with
each other. H only only professionally. But I think you've
always been a look for yourself my friends.
Speaker 6 (21:14):
Wait a minute, Donnie, are you saying that I'm a dilf?
Speaker 7 (21:17):
A dad?
Speaker 13 (21:18):
I'd like to know.
Speaker 4 (21:22):
You went to the Red Sox game the other night
and they wasted no time finding you with the cameras.
Speaker 6 (21:27):
Can you play that.
Speaker 3 (21:28):
Justin all right?
Speaker 1 (21:29):
That's Donnie Wahlberg, who is a Boston native and is
wearing a Mets long sleeved tea. I would imagine that
that pains him. However, he is here at Fenway Park.
They are shooting an episode of the TV drama Blue Bloods.
He's an NYPD detective Danny Reagan Boston Blue Rather So,
Welcome to.
Speaker 6 (21:48):
Fenway, Donnie. Did it pain you to put the Mets
jersey on?
Speaker 10 (21:51):
Yes?
Speaker 13 (21:51):
But but whenever I see these posts or people talking
about it, they all say, I bet you he put
in this car on track that he wouldn't have to
wear the Yankees. And that is true. I didn't put
it in my contract. I just proclaimed it the first day.
I said, listen, Danny is a New Yorker, He's going
to Boston. I will not be a Yankee fan. And
(22:13):
that's it. It did pain me. I was literally running
around up there on the Green Monster like covering my
chest so like all the real fans, because we were
surrounded by extras. But once I got past them, all
the real fans were like.
Speaker 10 (22:23):
What are you doing?
Speaker 13 (22:25):
You know? But the best part about the clip is
that the family and friends in the clip put a
Red Sox jersey on Danny. At the end of the scene.
The end of an episode and it was really sweet
and really fun and it did pain me, but I
loved every second of filming the scene because I knew
the end was going to be worth the torture that
(22:46):
I had to go through. We're in the Mets, Jerseys.
Speaker 4 (22:47):
How would you compare it doing this show that's spin
off of Boston Blue to Blue Bloods.
Speaker 13 (22:51):
Oh well, you know, it's it's wow. That's a heavy
question because Blue Bloods was, you know, in many ways,
I was sort of responsible, ability free in some ways.
And don't I don't mean that in a an arrogant
way or anything like that. I was playing a New Yorker.
I'm playing in New Yorker and I'm a Bostonian, So
I got to have fun with that and got to
really dive into that character and just be you know,
(23:14):
crazy and really over the top with it. But now
I'm in Boston. I feel a great responsibility to, you know,
respect the city of Boston while portraying a New Yorker
And it's a delicate tight rope to walk. And of course,
you know, the family and Tom Selleck and the entire
cast were you know, my friends, and we're very close
(23:36):
and so this is a new world. Of course, going
to stay connected with the old characters, and they'll be
popping up from time.
Speaker 6 (23:43):
To tell good appearances.
Speaker 13 (23:46):
Oh absolutely, Oh yeah, we have. The first episode is
going to blow people's minds. I think people are going
to be like, oh my god, Like there's some twists
and turns in the first episode, and then we're going
to continue that. You know, we want to pay respect
and honor Blue Bloods, but also you know they were
then there thousands and thousands of police families in America,
(24:06):
and we want to tell some of those stories too,
And we want to let Danny explore, you know, be
a fish out of water. And what better place to
throw in New Yorker than the middle of Boston. And
you know, I got to experience that fourteen years on
Blue Bloods has a Boston only and in the middle
of New York. So this will be a fun turn.
Speaker 6 (24:23):
And we have a question from a listener I think
about the show.
Speaker 14 (24:25):
I was just wondering, how long are they filming this
show in Boston and like did it start filming like
yesterday or because I know they're filming like yesterday or
two days ago at Fenway and like in the Commons.
I'm pretty sure. I saw like tiktoks, like how long
are they going to be filming there for? Because I'd
love to see them film.
Speaker 13 (24:44):
I think we'll be filming in Boston a lot. So
here's the thing with you know, people think it's a
personal choice or something that like I didn't want to
film in Boston. I had the best time in my
life filming in Boston. I had the best time in
my life. Every time I go to Boston, I'm talking
to you, Billy, because you're my friend, and then you're
from Boston. The TV and the industry has really been
(25:04):
beat up from COVID and the strike, and I think
a lot. You know, CBS, for example, used to make
like twenty shows a year. They're making two this year
and new shows, and I'm on one of them. And
it's really dire straits financially, you know, in the industry.
So I'm really fortunate to be making a show. I'm
really fortunate to be able to go to Boston and
(25:25):
work at all. But you know, when I initially was
offered a job, I said, we got to go to Boston.
They said, we can't afford it. It's basically thirty cents
on a dollar to film in Canada right now, compared
to you know, eighty cents on a dollar, ninety cents
on a dollar even with tax plates. But I said,
we have to go to Boston. I can't not go
to Boston. So the plan right now is to do
(25:46):
the interiors up here and go to Boston every couple
of weeks and do what we did and put a
crew together, a Boston crew, and go down and film
all over the city. And you know, you can't fake
what Boston looks like. And you know, we're bringing Boston
actors up here, the guests in the shows, and we're
doing everything we can, and hopefully, in success, we can
(26:07):
be in Boston more. That's the goal is, let's compromise
to get the show made. We'll work outside and do
exteriors in Boston, and then you know, in success, perhaps
we can come down there and be there full time.
That would be a dream of all dreams.
Speaker 4 (26:21):
I know you're busy up there in Toronto. I wish
you nothing but love. Just know that Boston loves you, Donnie,
and you're doing a great job.
Speaker 13 (26:29):
We're proud of you, Billy, Thank you, Thank you, Boston.
Thank you everyone. They're a kiss. And honestly that we
grew up there down there in Boston filming is it
would be really hard to be there full time because
I probably took forty six thousand selfies in just a
few days. The duck boats kept driving by, going dot it,
(26:51):
don't they pictures with all the duck boats. It was
the most fun. But I could see, you know, and
the crew was like, oh my god, the city loves you.
And I was like, oh. Every now and then again
a director would look at me and go, Okay, Donnie,
you gotta say no to Sully and Timmy.
Speaker 10 (27:06):
Let's go.
Speaker 2 (27:08):
Well, that's gonna do it. For the top five moments
of the week again, it's producer Riley from Billy and
Lisa in the Morning. Thanks for hanging with me.
Speaker 7 (27:14):
Guys.
Speaker 2 (27:15):
It's gonna be getting hot again next week, so be
prepared break out your sunscreen, but we'll always keep you
cool here on Kiss one. Oh wait, coming up is
the Countdown with Billy and Justin Everything you need to
know in the pop culture world, as well as the
biggest hits.
Speaker 3 (27:29):
Have a good one, guys,
