Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's the best Avillian Lisa in the Morning.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Hey guys, good morning.

Speaker 3 (00:05):
Welcome into the top five moments of the week while
we hide from this bad whether it's producer Riley from
Billy and Lisa in the Morning, and let's just jump
right into the number five moment. So we posed the
question to ourselves if we were out on a date
and somebody used a coupon, would we go out with them? Again,
we needed to hear from the people on this.

Speaker 4 (00:23):
Went on a date with a firefighter from the South.

Speaker 5 (00:26):
Sure.

Speaker 6 (00:26):
He was so sweet and so nice.

Speaker 4 (00:29):
After we went out to dinner, he took me back
to his house and we're sitting on the couch chatting
when his girlfriend first into the house called me every
lovely name in the book, and eventually the cops had
to be called to get more out and to get
me safely out.

Speaker 2 (00:44):
We had no idea, Thank you.

Speaker 7 (00:46):
That's the situation.

Speaker 6 (00:48):
Yeah, that's a good first aid story. Right then cops
get called. Yeah, okay, in the fact that you went
back to the house, you know that's okay.

Speaker 5 (00:56):
I'm okay if you have a coupon, as long as
you don't have a girlfriend.

Speaker 6 (00:58):
Yeah, So use the coupine.

Speaker 8 (01:01):
We don't have a gofer.

Speaker 6 (01:02):
Yeah, I love it when they crushed the door.

Speaker 9 (01:06):
I good one about the coupons.

Speaker 10 (01:08):
Went on a date.

Speaker 9 (01:10):
When it was time to pay, he said about splitting
fifty to fifty. I said, no problem. When the waitress
came over, he pulled out a loyalty cards and a coupon,
so it was a fifty percent off his entree. Plus
he has points on his Lords cards off the bill.

Speaker 11 (01:29):
So.

Speaker 8 (01:31):
You know he's a loyal customer.

Speaker 7 (01:33):
Oh but that's just the next level that.

Speaker 6 (01:35):
Meanwhile, he's using the loyalty points and for his own
half of the day.

Speaker 5 (01:41):
Oh my god, that's like a creep that's so creepy.
He could have put that on the top and then
split whatever.

Speaker 7 (01:48):
Let her use it. Yeah, ye here.

Speaker 6 (01:50):
And keep it to yourself until you're out again the
next time.

Speaker 10 (01:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 12 (01:55):
You know.

Speaker 13 (01:55):
You know what's funny about this this topic time today
is you know, we found this study and we you know,
we talked it and I was thinking to myself, people
really do this? Is this something that's really happening and
it is crazy.

Speaker 14 (02:07):
So I was casually seeing this guy and it was
you know, we were on our first couple of first dates.
I think it's maybe a second and I got one
on her breakfast. He got a couple of things. I'm
pretty sure he got two laundries at breakfast. And I
genuinely forgot my wallet in the car and I expressed
that out loud and he I could tell he was frustrated,

(02:27):
and he looked at me, and I said, what's wrong
is he looked at me dead in the face of
my You know, I can't keep paying for you. I
was aghast.

Speaker 8 (02:36):
Oh, well that ended.

Speaker 6 (02:38):
I'm always shocked when I hear these stories. This really happens.

Speaker 13 (02:43):
Well, you wonder why so many people have such trouble dating. Yeah,
that's all you hear about, you know, the dating world.
I can't find somebody. Well, what's reasons like this?

Speaker 14 (02:52):
I have never been turned off more in my life.
When I had been dating this guy for six months,
this guy expressed to us, are we that it was
his first day on the job. We have been great customers,
We were so awesome, nice boyfriend. Just the bill he's
signing his him and he goes, yeah, I'm not giving
that guy a him.

Speaker 6 (03:10):
I was like, excuse me.

Speaker 14 (03:12):
I think we lasted for a couple more weeks after that.

Speaker 6 (03:15):
Why did he want to give him a tip?

Speaker 13 (03:17):
He probably messed up the order. I was asking Winny
about this early because she used to be a server.
That's kind of an old trick for servers where if
you mess up at a table, maybe you forgot something,
you kind of made me throw it in there because
you feel that.

Speaker 8 (03:28):
Oh, I just started.

Speaker 13 (03:30):
It's my first week the kitchen. Those are server tricks,
so I'm.

Speaker 6 (03:36):
Really busy back there.

Speaker 13 (03:37):
Yeah, not that that's right or wrong, Yeah, but I'm
just assuming that's what happened.

Speaker 8 (03:42):
I don't know. You gotta be nice. You gotta be
nice to the waiters, you know what I mean.

Speaker 6 (03:45):
Bill, I never believed in the water thing. Okay, dude,
I just had a bottle of water in the car.
Leave me alone and bring me a drink.

Speaker 1 (03:57):
Alone.

Speaker 6 (03:58):
That's really a people that I don't know when it happened.
And I know restaurants do it for money, right, because
then they without telling you. If you say i'll just
have sparkling, they bring you a giant bottle.

Speaker 15 (04:10):
No, but they're not as aggressive as they used to be.
They really aren't. They always offer you tap water within
the mix, which I appreciate.

Speaker 7 (04:17):
And most most service come.

Speaker 15 (04:19):
Over and they're like, I'm sure you just want the
tap water?

Speaker 6 (04:21):
Yeah, I mean they get it, like when did it
become a course.

Speaker 7 (04:25):
Because it raises the bill.

Speaker 6 (04:28):
I have my water? Where's my drink?

Speaker 15 (04:30):
Some people do like sparkling water. They get the whole bottle. Yeah,
I don't drink, so that's your drink, Okay, it's not mine.

Speaker 8 (04:38):
That's okay.

Speaker 10 (04:39):
But they don't know that.

Speaker 5 (04:40):
You're going to assume that you're a freak for Cosmo.

Speaker 6 (04:46):
Water all day, so you're not doing me any favors.
I've had water all day.

Speaker 5 (04:52):
I will.

Speaker 6 (04:53):
I'm here to relax. I would like a cocktail.

Speaker 10 (04:57):
You seem very relaxed.

Speaker 13 (04:59):
Yeah, actually almost unrelaxed person, you guys.

Speaker 12 (05:03):
One of my first aid horror stories is with a
man I met online. We went to a Mexican restaurant.

Speaker 10 (05:09):
The vibes were good.

Speaker 12 (05:10):
He was super sweet, and we both got spicy margaritas.
I finished my margarita and ate the halopanos that were
in it, and I asked if he was going to
eat his. He said yes, so he decided to eat them.
Next thing I know, I'm sitting at the table alone
for thirty minutes, the man is in the bathroom throwing
out he couldn't handle the julapeno spider.

Speaker 15 (05:30):
Oh god, well he gave it a whirle. He tried, Yeah,
he tried. He was trying to impress there.

Speaker 8 (05:35):
Yeah, you know what, It's tough out there.

Speaker 16 (05:38):
Listen, I'm so single right now.

Speaker 6 (05:41):
I don't even care how you pay.

Speaker 10 (05:43):
You could use Monopoly money.

Speaker 3 (05:45):
For Billy's son. Chris Costa has been on an absolute role. Hey,
it's producer Riley from Billy and Lisa in the morning
counting down the top five moments of the week with you.
Chris and Tom Brady are in the Hat's opening up
one of their new card Vault locations, and Chris called
in to tell us all about it.

Speaker 2 (06:05):
It's number four.

Speaker 6 (06:06):
So I watch all of your posts on Instagram, and
I mean you and Tom like, do you like are
you roommates now? On the road? I mean everywhere he
goes you go.

Speaker 17 (06:16):
Yeah, we've just grown extremely close. Were dear dear personal friends.
Yeah yeah, so hitting No, you don't share a suite
or something. We do not share a suite, not sharing beds,
We're not sharing sweets, we're not sharing showers, any of that.

Speaker 8 (06:31):
Okay, but he does love Chris.

Speaker 6 (06:35):
I know, yeah, it looks like it. So I watched
all of your Instagram posts from the Hamptons yesterday, the
ribbon cutting and everything, and I was kind of concerned
because of the weather. You might not get a big crowd,
but you had a massive crowd down there.

Speaker 17 (06:50):
Honest to God, I've never seen anything like this. I
don't know if it was an active God, but we
were supposed to get gale force winds. We're supposed to
get two inches of rain. It was supposed to be
a disaster.

Speaker 6 (07:01):
Yeah.

Speaker 17 (07:01):
Tom pulls up and the skies parted, and it was
as if rays of shun light. Sunlight shined down from
the heavens the second he walked into the room. It
was incredible. I've never seen anything like it.

Speaker 6 (07:12):
So it was like biblical.

Speaker 17 (07:14):
It was a biblical moment.

Speaker 6 (07:15):
Yeah. Wow. So I saw something was outside, so there
was a park nearby the shore.

Speaker 17 (07:22):
Yeah, so we set up this entire event. We had
a stage brought in the town of East Hampton. Was incredible.
They shut down the street were on Newtown Lane, which
is one of the main drafts of East Hampton, and
the entire football team came out, the entire Mayor's office
in town. Administrators came out, and thousands of people came out.
And originally or initially there was rain, so thousands of

(07:45):
people are standing outside in the rain waiting for Tom Wow.
And then the skies parted. We made our way over
to the stage. Tom threw out about one hundred footballs
into the crowd in signing hats, signing jerseys, and it
was insane. And we made our way from the stage
down Newtown Lane, almost like a parade with the football

(08:06):
team and it was like a sea of people moving
to the new store and Wow made our way over
to cut the ribbon.

Speaker 6 (08:11):
Again that was biblical. But if we get back up
for just a second, the Hamptons have a football team.

Speaker 17 (08:17):
They do they do, And the quarterback is number twelve.

Speaker 6 (08:22):
No way, no, did he just wear that for the
day because Grady was there?

Speaker 17 (08:26):
Or no he did? And I turned around. So the
football team came up on stage with us, and I asked,
you know, in front of the crowd, where's the quarterback?
Where's the quarterback? And this kid raises his hand, he's
number twelve, And I go, what's your name? And I'm
getting ready for him to say, Tom, it's theo Fama
pull him out and he starts throwing footballs with Tom

(08:47):
into the crowd. It was it was a pretty great moment.

Speaker 6 (08:49):
Now, how I mean you played youth sports, high school sports,
college sports. How exciting must it be for these young
players to be sharing a stage with the goat.

Speaker 17 (09:00):
Well, it's funny. The two captains of the football team
came into the store a week ago when we were
getting things ready for a soft open, and they basically
volunteered their help. They were like, anything we can do,
anything we can do to help, We'd love to be there.
We love Tom. And keep in mind this is in
New York. We're in New York, and you know, Tom

(09:22):
for a long time was hated in New York. But
it goes to show how Tom's image in the world
has changed post football and he's become a lot more
than just a New England quarterback or a Tampa Bay quarterback.
But the football team shows up, they ask and offered
their help. So we basically used them as Tom's bodyguards
during the walk and wow. So they circled around Tom

(09:45):
in their high school uniforms and they helped kind of
move us through the crowd. It was pretty great.

Speaker 6 (09:49):
And Robert Kraft was there, right.

Speaker 17 (09:52):
Robert Kraft came down, Michael Rubin came down, all the
Hampton's regulars.

Speaker 6 (09:58):
So let me get this straight. This is my child,
Chris Costa at actually cutting the ribbon with Robert Craft
and Tom Brady.

Speaker 17 (10:09):
I know, Billy, Yeah, I don't really know what's happening.
It's pretty surreal.

Speaker 6 (10:15):
So yeah, no, I gotta ask you, as my son,
are you as thrilled as I am for you?

Speaker 17 (10:23):
Yeah? I still can't figure out what's happening. It's a
pretty wild situation and surreal moment. So, I mean, you
know me, I grew up worshiping Tom. You know what, Yeah,
the Patriots win six of their championships. Nobody was a
bigger and is a bigger Tom Brady fan than me.

Speaker 8 (10:40):
And yeah, here we are.

Speaker 17 (10:41):
We're partners. So it's a pretty wild situation.

Speaker 15 (10:43):
Well, you came up with an amazing concept and you
work so hard, so this makes sense.

Speaker 7 (10:47):
I'm so happy for you.

Speaker 17 (10:50):
Here we are, yeap.

Speaker 6 (10:51):
And for the sake of those people that don't know,
card Vaults is a trading card company and it I
mean we all did it as kids. Lord knows how.
I don't know where the boxes and boxes of trading
cards are, but you really exploded with it during the pandemic.

Speaker 17 (11:06):
Right, Yeah, well five years ago when we went when
we started this company, and even before that, when I was,
you know, heavily collecting and going to trade shows around
the country, people thought I was insane, right, baseball cards
didn't those die years ago? But no, the industry's back,
and it's been back, and it's stronger than ever and
it's here to stay. And yeah, over the past five years,

(11:28):
like Lisa said, it's just that we came up with
a great idea. We built a great business. We have
a great team, and Tom saw that and wanted to
be a part of it. And here we are. We're
opening a store a month until we get to one hundred.

Speaker 6 (11:39):
A store a month. So what's next.

Speaker 17 (11:43):
It looks like we're going to probably and I'm not
allowed to say this, but you know what, what the hell,
what the hell? Igo is likely going.

Speaker 6 (11:50):
To be next Windy City freaking news.

Speaker 17 (11:52):
That's right, Wrigley Field.

Speaker 6 (11:55):
Now I have to ask you, by the way, we
had ran your other partner on the show recently. He
told me you were really mad at me because I
haven't been to one opening yet.

Speaker 17 (12:06):
I mean, you listen, you know Randy, he's like a
fire poker. All he's trying to do is go win
everything around us.

Speaker 6 (12:11):
Okay, so you're not mad at your father yet.

Speaker 17 (12:13):
I'm not mad at my father. Now I will say, Oh,
you know, the Hamptons does have a beautiful marina. You know,
the boat should be here this week, and it would
have been nice to stay on the boat during this
entire event.

Speaker 6 (12:23):
Yeah, it would have been a really nice cruise to
the Hamptons this week.

Speaker 17 (12:26):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (12:27):
Last might not have.

Speaker 17 (12:28):
Had a father. You know, you might not have had
a father after this weekend.

Speaker 6 (12:31):
Yeah, yeah, you know, I'm not cruising to the Hamptons
this weekend.

Speaker 8 (12:36):
When is the Miami?

Speaker 6 (12:37):
Yes, we want to know Miami because I had a
personal invite from Tom Brady.

Speaker 17 (12:42):
Yeah. Yeah, Miami should be before the end of the year.
And we might even have two before the end of
the year down there.

Speaker 6 (12:47):
So woh, well, we'll all be there, right, Billy, Oh,
we're all going to Miami, but we show live from Miami?

Speaker 8 (12:52):
Are we all invited?

Speaker 17 (12:53):
W's the second you get eighty degrees? Sonny Spas. Yeah,
of course everybody's coming now.

Speaker 6 (12:58):
Son, Chris, I am so so proud of you, and
we're all so proud of you. And well, thanks for
waking up. I know you've got a long weekend.

Speaker 17 (13:06):
Well, you guys were there at the beginning and nobody
helped promote card Vaults more than Billy and Lisa and
Justin and Winnie. So I love you guys, Thank you,
and I'll see you when I get home.

Speaker 6 (13:15):
Now, can you remind Tom Brady about my Miami invite.

Speaker 8 (13:19):
It's not a problem. That's my fourth son.

Speaker 3 (13:21):
As most of you know, Catherine Loftus comes in every
Thursday to help us break down the Karen retrial.

Speaker 2 (13:26):
Hey, it's producer Riley from Billy and Lisa.

Speaker 3 (13:28):
In the morning, we're continuing to count down the top
five moments of the week, and Catherine always has a
really great insight when she answers all our questions.

Speaker 2 (13:35):
It's number three.

Speaker 6 (13:36):
We're going to start in Aril and you, Margo, do
you have a question for Catherine. I sure do.

Speaker 18 (13:42):
Good morning, Morning, Team, Good morning, Tony Loft morning.

Speaker 6 (13:46):
I got long time, long.

Speaker 18 (13:47):
Time listener, first time callers or good welcome, thank you.

Speaker 8 (13:52):
I was watching a video.

Speaker 18 (13:54):
Yesterday It almost made me lose sleep last night. And
I don't know if anybody's been talking about this. During
the defense's cross examination, I believe that tech guy that
said we had a bachelor's degree but really didn't.

Speaker 17 (14:08):
I'm not sure who he was, A gentleman.

Speaker 6 (14:11):
The guy with the hair, Yeah.

Speaker 19 (14:13):
Yeah, wicked, bad hair.

Speaker 18 (14:18):
You look over at Judge Bev and at one point,
when the defense is looking at the entry with the witness,
she's rubbing her right side of her cheek and looking
at the prosecution. And as she's doing that, immediately after
the prosecution yells objection, and Judge Bev has the biggest
smile on her face.

Speaker 7 (14:40):
Yes, those are the details.

Speaker 10 (14:43):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (14:43):
No, that's been circling on the internet, and I've been
asked a number of times what I think about I mean, listen,
do I ultimately do I know what that means? Do
I think that Attorney Brannan needs the judge to signal
him to object now he knows when to object and
what to do. I think that the judge and the
prosecution are in cahoots.

Speaker 10 (15:01):
I don't can I you know, I know, you do
you know? Personally? No, I don't see it.

Speaker 1 (15:09):
But I understand that people, you know, outside observers looking
at it from on its face, it looks like, hey,
that's weird.

Speaker 10 (15:16):
What's that?

Speaker 1 (15:16):
But ultimately, do I think they're you know, I mean,
do I think they're colluding together to you know, against
the offense?

Speaker 10 (15:23):
I don't.

Speaker 7 (15:24):
I would hope not.

Speaker 5 (15:25):
She just looked really like the smile was weird. I understand,
like it looks bad with the rubbing, but you said
he's not a new attorney, he doesn't need help. But
her smile, yen was really creepy, Like why are so happy?

Speaker 1 (15:38):
She might be like I feel like she might be,
you know, going to a little delusional like the rest
of us.

Speaker 10 (15:42):
I were watching the same thing over and over it.

Speaker 6 (15:46):
Okay, go get them make a good point.

Speaker 15 (15:48):
We're all just regular people here, right, Judge bab right, Judge.

Speaker 6 (15:52):
Bad Yeah, let's go to Jamie right here in the
beautiful city of Medford, Massachusetts. Good morning, Jamie. Question or
comment for Catherine Loftus.

Speaker 17 (16:01):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (16:01):
My question is there's a ton of stuff on the internet.

Speaker 6 (16:04):
About anti BEV being biased.

Speaker 8 (16:06):
And do you see any truth to that and that
she shouldn't be trying this case?

Speaker 17 (16:10):
And do you think that affects the jury with some
of the reactions.

Speaker 10 (16:15):
You know, I don't, and I listen.

Speaker 1 (16:17):
I understand that this has been a topic of conversation
since the last trial. There was a motion to recuse
her early on, I think it was in the summer
of twenty twenty three, with some allegations that seem to
be unfounded.

Speaker 10 (16:31):
You know, I think that in this.

Speaker 1 (16:33):
Case that the sort of outside speculation, internet observations have
sort of taken a toll of its own and really
on a life of its own. And do I mean, ultimately,
do I think that she is biased against the defense?

Speaker 10 (16:49):
I don't.

Speaker 1 (16:50):
Do I think that she certainly is frustrated in some ways,
and that visibly shows yes, I do. I mean, I
think that's apparent that she has been a little bit
short with the defense at times. The objections largely within
the legal bolence. She's been appealed multiple times, all the
way up to the United States Supreme Court. Her ruins
have been upheld. So, you know, whether we like it
or not, the objections are largely sounded in the law.

Speaker 6 (17:12):
But that's what's really cool about the Internet and social
media is that all of these people are basically an
expanded jury that yes, they're sitting in on the trial.

Speaker 1 (17:22):
Yes, yes, see, I know, because the outside has so
much more information than the jury actually does. The jury
only has the evidence that can come in, you know,
through relevant admissible testimony documentation. So there the jury is
actually looking at the case, I think in a very
very different way than the general public is.

Speaker 6 (17:40):
You don't think they go home and check out the
opinions online.

Speaker 10 (17:45):
Yesterday? Well, you know, I mean I do think.

Speaker 1 (17:48):
Listen, we're all citizens, right, most of us are citizens
of this United States where we're founded on.

Speaker 10 (17:54):
It's a democracy.

Speaker 1 (17:55):
We have a constitution that protects individual liberties, and we
have rules, and we hope that when you're on a
jury and you take an oath to swear it and
abide by these rules, we hope that the jurors do that.

Speaker 6 (18:05):
Can you roll them to the Americans?

Speaker 1 (18:07):
Well, you know, we're lucky that we have this system.

Speaker 10 (18:09):
It's not perfect, but it's better than most in the world.

Speaker 6 (18:12):
Justin talk, mister Costa, ask it differently.

Speaker 20 (18:17):
I am serving on a grand jury right now, and
we had a similar thing happen where a juror was
pulled out, spoken to privately, ultimately dismissed. So I wanted
to ask Catherine if this is something that happens frequently.

Speaker 10 (18:33):
Wow, it happens.

Speaker 1 (18:36):
I wouldn't say it's frequent, but it's certainly not unheard of. Again,
jurors are We're all just people, right, So you put
especially in a grand jury, you have twenty three members
who sit for you know, for three or four months.

Speaker 10 (18:48):
On a jury, we.

Speaker 1 (18:49):
Have seventeen here, people are sitting together every day, they're
at lunch every day. There's different kinds of personalities, you know,
how it goes. We don't all get along. So you know,
sometimes there's one person that kind of everybody else the
wrong way, and maybe it's better if you take that
person out of the situation. So does it happen all
the time?

Speaker 21 (19:08):
No?

Speaker 10 (19:08):
But is it completely unusual?

Speaker 6 (19:11):
No, Well, it's most likely most of the jurors have
already made up their mind, right, unless I mean that's
barring a bombshell of some sort.

Speaker 1 (19:18):
No, I mean, I I don't know some maybe some,
But I do think that most jurors really do pay
attention to all of the evidence and think about the
fact that they deliberated last time for five days, So
that actually shows that they didn't make up their mind
right away. Right.

Speaker 10 (19:33):
If you make up your mind, then you have a
really quick verdict.

Speaker 1 (19:36):
The fact that they thought about it for five days
last time shows that there was a lot of information
from both the defense and the prosecution that they sort
of had to sell.

Speaker 6 (19:43):
All you need is one hold out right.

Speaker 1 (19:45):
Either way either way, You need unanimous that you need
twelve either way.

Speaker 14 (19:49):
My question for Catherine, so the day that Karen was sick,
and it was definitely Karen, but you know they said
something happened due to unforeseen circum chances. Aren't you allowed
to go on without her? That was my understanding, but
I could be wrong.

Speaker 1 (20:06):
So you always want the defendant to be present. She
has a right to, you know that watch the trial,
to be present and listen this happens. It's not you know,
if somebody was if there was a falsehood being you know,
presented to the court, or if there was something something else,
they might say, okay, you could zoom in or you
can appear. Sometimes they take defendants and they put them

(20:27):
what we call behind the dock if they're causing disruption.
But generally you want the defendant to be in the
room when the trial is proceeding like that, that is
the best course. And you know, people do get sick.
This happens all the time. Earlier in the pretrial litigation,
attorney Brennan, they took a day off because he wasn't
feeling well. And you know, it's life. So if you
have a day or two that something comes up. It

(20:48):
would be the same thing with the juror if they
couldn't make it in for some reason.

Speaker 15 (20:52):
You know, I think actually everyone's been doing really well,
especially even last year too.

Speaker 10 (20:57):
I mean, and it's a long time.

Speaker 1 (20:58):
I mean, it's a long time for nothing to come up, right,
and everyone's stay healthy.

Speaker 10 (21:03):
That's right, that's right.

Speaker 6 (21:04):
I can't believe how long these people have gone to court,
Like every day they sit in the same seat, and
it's amazing to me the process.

Speaker 2 (21:12):
Mister Costas, Hey, guys, welcome back.

Speaker 3 (21:15):
It's producer Riley from Billy and Lisa in the Morning,
counting down the top five moments of the week.

Speaker 2 (21:20):
We're already at number two.

Speaker 3 (21:22):
So this week was National Adopt a Dog Day, so
we had a ton of calls and talkbacks from people
telling us how they got their rescue dogs, and we
loved these stories.

Speaker 2 (21:33):
It was our topic time.

Speaker 6 (21:34):
Christina in Milton, Lisa, that's your hometown.

Speaker 7 (21:37):
Oh hey Christina, Hey Lisa.

Speaker 16 (21:39):
I was actually gonna say, if you see a dog
mom with two crazy Mini Schnauzers walking the streets, that's me. Yeah.
So I actually have a really fun story that March first,
twenty twenty have to set the stage. So pre pandemic time,
we wanted to rescue dog. So we saw this scruffy

(22:02):
looking little Minnie Schnauzer and we were like, we're going
to put our name in. We got a signed to her.
Her name is Maggie, and when we arrived, they brought
the dogs off transport and she arrived with her sister,
who they told me was not a bonded pair so
that they didn't need to go together. So we were
picking up Maggie, another woman was there for the other dog,

(22:25):
and when they came off, it was clear that they
belonged together, and the other woman who was there for
the other dog said, there's no way I can take
both of them, but if you can, you should. My
husband and I were not dog parents at the time,
so we had no idea what we were in store for,
but we convinced ourselves to bring both of them home,
and our reasoning was, hey, while we're at work, they'll

(22:49):
keep each other entertained. Well, you know, seventeen days later
we never went back to work again because we both
worked remotely. But we have two very very happy rescued
love so lucky.

Speaker 17 (23:01):
To have them.

Speaker 16 (23:02):
Yeah, for us, I will go for us in Cunningham. Okay,
we go to Cunningham quite a bit awesome.

Speaker 6 (23:11):
Thank you for the call. Let's go to Casey and
wear him. That's on the cape. I was on the
cape yesterday. I to't your edge. Good morning, Casey, good morning.
Give us your story.

Speaker 19 (23:22):
So I am with a local animal shelter in New Bedford, Massachusetts.
We are a little unique. We're one hundred percent volunteer,
one hundred percent donation funded, and we have a dog
that's been with us for eight hundred and fifty five days. Yeah,
he's a sweet boy. He is a bully mix. He's
a black bully mix. He's a strong boy. His name
is Cole and he's looking for a specific home. He

(23:45):
would need a single, strong, experienced dog handler and no cats,
no kids. But he really is a very content, very
sweet boy.

Speaker 8 (23:55):
We love him.

Speaker 19 (23:55):
At the shelter. He I would like to highlight that
he is content with the shelter and he has his home,
big room. But we really do love him. We're hoping
to find him home.

Speaker 17 (24:04):
Well.

Speaker 6 (24:04):
Shout out to the shelter for keeping him comfortable all
this time, eight hundred and fifty five days. So you
know what, if there's somebody listening who is looking for
a rescue dog, Cole is ready to go.

Speaker 19 (24:17):
Yes, and he can be found at Lighthouse Animal Shelter
dog or if all of our dogs are up there
and they can reach out to us, we will answer
any questions at all. We have a bunch of volunteers
that take them out for the day. Anything at all, well,
we just want to get him.

Speaker 6 (24:30):
Home with somebody soon.

Speaker 7 (24:31):
Can you say the name of the shelter again?

Speaker 19 (24:34):
Sorry, it's Lighthouse Animal Shelter and that's a new Bedford, Massachusetts.

Speaker 6 (24:40):
Thank you so much for the call. Hopefully someone will
call us and hopefully Cole will get home before the
day is out.

Speaker 11 (24:45):
Wow, we have two rescue dogs at home. Our first
named Ginger, She is from South Korea. She was rescued
from the meat the dog meat industry. She was literally
like put on a plane brought the United States, so
she's our international. She's a Korean Jindo dog.

Speaker 6 (25:02):
And then we have Peppa, who is.

Speaker 11 (25:05):
A basset hound jack ruffel mixed with a massive underbete
from Pensacola, Florida. She was a street dog and when
we met her she was eating dirt and we love
both of them.

Speaker 6 (25:14):
Wow, that's a good one. You give them a home,
you change their life. Imagine that the dog meat. Yeah,
I don't even want to think about that.

Speaker 8 (25:25):
They do that in.

Speaker 7 (25:26):
Other countries, they really do.

Speaker 6 (25:28):
So think about that. So now these dogs are sitting
there waiting and they're just going to be destroyed.

Speaker 8 (25:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 13 (25:34):
Earlier I mentioned in Aruba when we were on a vacation,
there were so many dogs on the street and I
knew there was a foundation at least one that rescues
these dogs.

Speaker 16 (25:42):
Ansa Justin's question.

Speaker 22 (25:43):
The foundation in Aruba for the dogs is the Luna Foundation.
We would just there recently and we actually visited Luna Foundation.
It was pretty sad, but the organization works very hard
to rehome these animals from the islands. So if you
can help, please do. They have a headquarters of Braintree

(26:04):
Maps as well well.

Speaker 7 (26:06):
Luna Foundation.

Speaker 6 (26:07):
Yeah, and keep that in mind as you're listening this
morning on this National Dog Rescue Day. All of these
agencies they work together, they work with each other all
they want to do. Their only goal is to find
a home for But also if.

Speaker 15 (26:17):
You can't adopt, you can donate, yes and right to
support you know the length of stay for some of
these dogs.

Speaker 6 (26:24):
And we've got two of the agencies coming in. Gal's
Best Pals that's where we got Titus and the Dog
Mother is coming in and they can give some information
on sending donations.

Speaker 8 (26:33):
You say Gal's Best Pals.

Speaker 21 (26:34):
Yes, i'morn in haula geology here. I adopted a puppy
a couple months ago through Gal's Best Pals. The pregnant
mother was at a kill shelter down in Texas on
the list, and somebody was able to rescue her. She
had her puppies. The puppies were brought up here and
now I have one of them. Best decision ever.

Speaker 6 (26:52):
Yeah, Houston, Texas has this park I guess where everybody
abandons their dogs. They just woke up one day and said,
you know, I'm not in the mood or this isn't
working out for me. So they just leave them in
the streets to fend for themselves. And the problem is
places like Houston and there are others just like them,
when maybe your dog came from one of them, but

(27:13):
they don't have enough dog officers to get all the dogs.
And what happens is the collection of dogs keeps building
and building, and the shelters don't have the accommodations for
that many dogs. So eventually time runs out, like Titus
had an hour ago.

Speaker 8 (27:31):
An hour.

Speaker 6 (27:32):
Yeah, time runs out and they have.

Speaker 8 (27:34):
To you know, Wow, I didn't want to think about that.

Speaker 23 (27:37):
Shout out to my daughter Ashley, who rescued Susie thirteen
years ago. She was a two year old. She was
abandoned by her own as a Mississippi, tied to a
tree for six months.

Speaker 6 (27:49):
I don't know who could do that to a dog.

Speaker 23 (27:51):
Don't get me started, but anyhow, Susie is a spoiled girl.
She's a small girl. She loves chicken, she loves long walk,
she loves her toys, she loves to being with her family,
and she's getting ready for her vacation in Nantucket.

Speaker 6 (28:05):
She's backing as we speak.

Speaker 3 (28:07):
Hey guys, thanks for spending this hour with us. While
we count down the top five moments of the week.
It's producer Riley and let's get right into the number
one moment. Bill Belichick has been in the news a
lot recently, but sources are saying he and Jordan might
be engaged.

Speaker 2 (28:23):
Let's break it down.

Speaker 6 (28:24):
All we care about this morning, besides the Nor'easter is
Bill Belichick and Jordan Hudson. I'm sorry, I'm captivated by
this story because now there are several reports that suggest
that they're engaged.

Speaker 13 (28:38):
And it's not just us, by the way, now with
three TMZ stories. They went up yesterday, a New York
Times article. It's all over Twitter.

Speaker 7 (28:45):
It's the New York Times article.

Speaker 15 (28:46):
That's where the suggestion is that they are engaged. Because
in the article it states that Jordan has told one
person that they are engaged.

Speaker 7 (28:55):
So that made it into the article.

Speaker 6 (28:57):
Okay, this is amazing.

Speaker 8 (29:00):
December wedding.

Speaker 6 (29:03):
I'm fascinated by the confrontation on the island of Nantucket
that came out last night.

Speaker 15 (29:11):
There's two other developments here that we're going to share
with you. So yeah, So there was a report filed
on December. In December of last year, it was Nantucket
Stroll weekend and there was a big party that Linda
Holiday Bill Belichick's X was throwing with her daughters being
the DJs.

Speaker 7 (29:27):
They're twins and that's what they do.

Speaker 15 (29:29):
For work, so it was clearly her party. And Jordan
Hudson and a friend decided to go to the party
and that just didn't go over well with Linda and
her friends, and there was a confrontation.

Speaker 6 (29:44):
And Linda's daughters were the headlines. They were they were
the party, were documentary.

Speaker 15 (29:48):
Exactly, they were the DJs, they were providing the music.
So a report was filed a person from Dreamland Theater.

Speaker 6 (29:55):
An incident report.

Speaker 15 (29:56):
An incident report was filed saying like I want this
person move. This is just really uncomfortable for me. It's
it's my party. So I mean, our takeaway is why
did Jordan have to do that? Why did she have
to go there?

Speaker 6 (30:08):
And she was asked to leave and she was with
Miss Massachusetts.

Speaker 15 (30:12):
She was she I guess she didn't do anything. It
wasn't like she caused any problems.

Speaker 8 (30:18):
She didn't have to say anything but she and.

Speaker 7 (30:20):
She didn't have to again, it's just like what do
you do?

Speaker 8 (30:24):
Like it's very mean girl and Shame on Bill honestly
for allowing that.

Speaker 7 (30:31):
Just say like, do you really have to do that?

Speaker 5 (30:33):
Like, yeah, if you're going to date a seventy plus
year old, you got to act older than your early twenties,
like you have to maybe.

Speaker 10 (30:40):
Sure, be more sure.

Speaker 5 (30:41):
And everyone's like, oh, she's mature, that's why they connect.
You're not mature when you go and show up at
somebody's which there's probably an overlap between them.

Speaker 10 (30:50):
It was very party girl, it was very mean girl.

Speaker 6 (30:53):
Keep in mind, definitely Jordan was on a mission that
night by going to the event. She was going on
purpose because she wanted to trigger a confrontation and she did.

Speaker 13 (31:03):
She did, And it's clear though Jordan wants to be
miss Nantucket now.

Speaker 6 (31:07):
Yes, oh god, imagine very much.

Speaker 9 (31:09):
So.

Speaker 15 (31:12):
The other development that happened, Bill Belichick reportedly has also
added another ring to his boat. So he has eight
of them super Bowl rings, and he's added another.

Speaker 10 (31:25):
Plus one.

Speaker 15 (31:27):
And they're thinking it's because of this engagement.

Speaker 6 (31:30):
So it's not another it's not a super Bowl says
plus one, right, which means the cheerleading.

Speaker 7 (31:37):
Ring, yeah, or the engagement ring.

Speaker 6 (31:40):
It'd be very strange if she's still wearing a cheerleading.

Speaker 7 (31:43):
She's wearing it all over. She was wearing it to
different parties very recently.

Speaker 5 (31:48):
Bill, if you remember last October, we kind of broke
her into the media because we dared talk about her
cheerleading days and whatever. She is obsessed or very fond
about her time as a cheerleader. Yeah, she that's her
biggest accomplishment.

Speaker 6 (32:07):
That's all she has until Bill.

Speaker 13 (32:09):
She called me on the telephone for ninety minutes talking
about cheerleading, her.

Speaker 8 (32:14):
Love for chair. Oh yeah, I had a ninety minute
discussion with.

Speaker 6 (32:17):
I mean, she is a national champion, but I think
it's a certain division.

Speaker 5 (32:21):
Set me up, don't set me up, Bill, Yeah.

Speaker 13 (32:22):
You gotta leave this alone because we don't listen. Listen,
we're talking about Jordan, but what we don't want to
trash any of the Chileaders Bridgewater State.

Speaker 15 (32:29):
I said, you're a champion, and it's it's hard work,
like training for all of their competitions.

Speaker 7 (32:36):
It really is. They're athletes.

Speaker 10 (32:37):
So yeah, we're not. It's not that it.

Speaker 6 (32:39):
Doesn't there come a time.

Speaker 5 (32:40):
There's so much more to life than your college chair group.
I agree, Bill, that's just keep going, keep going, keep going.

Speaker 6 (32:48):
Anyway, Yeah, The confrontation fascinates me. And you've got to
remember they both live on Nantucket. Now, Linda and Jordan.

Speaker 8 (32:56):
You may remember last Halloween when I think it was
last Halloween, when Linda Holiday wore the kill Bill Halloween outfit.

Speaker 6 (33:03):
Yeah remember that.

Speaker 8 (33:05):
Yeah, I'm going to look up when that was. But
that was at this past Halloween, the one before it.

Speaker 7 (33:08):
Yeah, it was this past Halloween.

Speaker 8 (33:11):
Yeah, so there's always been some heat there, so obviously
tensions were high.

Speaker 13 (33:15):
So Halloween comes, she wears the outfit, and then Christmas comes,
here comes Jordan strolling into Linda's event.

Speaker 6 (33:20):
Now you know that guy, Pablo Torre. That was what
was his first report. He reported that she was banned
from UNC, and we don't know if that was true.
But his latest report is that Bill Belichick won't even
show up to coach UNC, that he's looking to get
a buyout.

Speaker 8 (33:40):
I think that's actually that.

Speaker 6 (33:41):
Was Pablo Torre's the latest report.

Speaker 8 (33:43):
Yeah, I don't. I mean, who knows. We have to
wait and see.

Speaker 5 (33:45):
Well, you know, I've seen on Reddit, there's so much
speculation on Reddit that you know, when they met and
how they met, and you know, obviously we've pretty much
at this point have figured out they didn't meant on
a plane like they originally said.

Speaker 21 (33:56):
So.

Speaker 6 (33:57):
But the question is, would Belichick actually walk away from
the job because they're not showing Jordan the proper Well,
I have.

Speaker 7 (34:05):
A question for the group.

Speaker 15 (34:07):
If this in fact is true and they are engaged
in getting married, are they going to start a family?

Speaker 6 (34:12):
Oh? She is twenty four years old, A little cheerleader,
just asking.

Speaker 10 (34:18):
Last what if in.

Speaker 5 (34:19):
Her mind, right, she's twenty four and he's in his
you know, seventy three she was if I just you know,
his early eighties, is something you know, only be in
my early thirties. I can have kids with the next
guy who might be younger. I'm just I'm just saying, like,
there's no guarantees in life. He could live ten, twenty
years two.

Speaker 10 (34:37):
I mean, I don't know.

Speaker 13 (34:38):
There's another part of the New York Times article, Yeah,
where they basically imply that the reason why Belichick's last
season with the Patriots was so horrendous was because of Jordan.
That she was very present, staying in hotels with him,
she was a round Jellette Stadium, and they basically imply
that she had a big part in the bottom of
the season.

Speaker 15 (34:58):
The title of the article is that Bill Belichick used
to always be in control, and now he's not.

Speaker 5 (35:03):
He's the biggest simp in the world. Oh, he's such
a simp, completely been stripped of any control. Yeah, it's
hilarious running this show.

Speaker 6 (35:12):
It's you know, like, you know, we're gossiping, But isn't that.

Speaker 10 (35:17):
We are so good.

Speaker 24 (35:18):
Everyone's talking about Bill Belichick's girlfriend, Jordan Hudson, has been
telling people that they're engaged. Actually, I think they're gonna
have a lot of luck thanks to Belichick's shirt. They
already have something old, something borrowed in, something blue.

Speaker 13 (35:33):
On Jimmy Fallon. Everyone's talking about it. Yeah, what does
Bill have to say?

Speaker 6 (35:37):
Tomorrow is Thursday? Okay, Okay, tomorrow is Thursday. That's the
way you got to look at it.

Speaker 3 (35:44):
Well, that's going to do it for the top five
moments of the week. Again, it's producer Riley from Billy
and Lisa in the Morning. Thanks for hanging with us.
