Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's the Best Avilion Lisa in the Morning.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Hey guys, Happy Saturday. Welcome into the Best of Billion
Lisa in the Morning. It's producer Riley. I'm going to
be counting down the top five moments of this short
holiday week that we had. I hope everybody had a
great Thanksgiving. But let's get right into number five, because
I'm sure we all just ate a delicious meal this
week for Thanksgiving. And one of our topic times was

(00:25):
all about Thanksgiving foods, and we actually kind of got
into an argument about mashed potatoes, of all things.

Speaker 3 (00:30):
It's number five, Lisi. You were telling us yesterday a
story you made the wrong potatoes or something.

Speaker 4 (00:35):
This was early on when my kids are really young,
and I was trying to like, you know, create Thanksgiving memories,
and I had I don't think i'd really cooked like
an entire Thanksgiving dinner, which is a lot like you know,
like the timing of all the vegetables and the turkey
and all this kind of stuff. So I bought what
I thought were the right potatoes. I bought like the
potatoes that you would have a baked potato, like that

(00:56):
type of potato to make the mashed potatoes. And my
parents were into and I remember my mother being like,
you bought the wrong potatoes, and like it was too late.
It was like Thanksgiving Day we could nothing was open,
and I remember I think I burst into tears.

Speaker 5 (01:10):
I was like, are you kidding me?

Speaker 3 (01:11):
I mean she could look, these are.

Speaker 4 (01:15):
The wrong potatoes and now and I was like, oh
my god, the mashed potatoes is going to be, like
my day is going to be ruined. I know that
it was like, you know, like silly of me to
think that, but I like will never forget that moment
that I bought the wrong potatoes.

Speaker 3 (01:29):
So prior to that Thanksgiving, were you always making the
wrong mashed potatoes?

Speaker 5 (01:34):
I guess so. But I don't really eat mashed potato.
I mean, when do we eat mashed potatoes?

Speaker 6 (01:38):
You don't eat mashed potatoes.

Speaker 3 (01:39):
But I don't my favorite port.

Speaker 4 (01:41):
I actually love mashed potatoes, but you don't make them
like on a regular basis.

Speaker 5 (01:46):
So anyway, so lesson learned.

Speaker 4 (01:48):
Now you're supposed to buy the ones that are sort
of like light yellow kind.

Speaker 3 (01:51):
Of never Morning Morning Crew.

Speaker 7 (01:56):
This is just and I am sending a talk back
because I just heard poor Lisa's Thanksgiving drama.

Speaker 3 (02:02):
About the potatoes. And I'm a chef.

Speaker 7 (02:05):
I own a cooking school here in Summerville, and the
best way to make mashed potatoes is with bakers brown potatoes.
You bake them up, you fluff them out, add a
little stock, garlic and cream, and boom.

Speaker 3 (02:15):
There you go.

Speaker 7 (02:16):
I just did a video for it on my.

Speaker 3 (02:18):
Social channel, Chef j Roy cooks. Okay, happy Thanksgiving.

Speaker 8 (02:22):
There you go.

Speaker 5 (02:22):
So I was I was right all along.

Speaker 3 (02:25):
You think your mother was doing it just to annoy you,
because this is the first I've heard of. It was
non mashed.

Speaker 4 (02:31):
Potato potato so traumatic that I switched gears and now
I use those other potatoes. But now I guess I'm
going to go back to the original.

Speaker 6 (02:37):
It really affected you all these years later.

Speaker 5 (02:40):
I don't know why.

Speaker 4 (02:41):
I just know maybe because I wanted it to be
you know, I wanted it to be good.

Speaker 9 (02:44):
And here we are in twenty twenty five and you
still have the feelings about it.

Speaker 5 (02:48):
I know, But I wonder if anyone has the same thing.

Speaker 6 (02:51):
I don't know.

Speaker 10 (02:52):
Hey, Lisa, as an Irish guy from child Sound Potatoes Potatoes,
you can use anything to make mashed potatoes. As a
licensed mental health counselor. I want to say that your
mother attacked you by saying you can't use baking potatoes
to make potatoes, and I want you to realize how
much it impacted you. The way you told that story

(03:14):
today shows that it impacted you too today. I am
so sorry. And listen, you had the right potato.

Speaker 9 (03:21):
Yeah, yeah, at least close your eyes for a second. Okay, okay,
close them. Okay they closed. Yea, And I listened.

Speaker 3 (03:27):
Close you had the right potato. Yeah, thank you. No,
I'm starting to think that your mother had something in
for you that day.

Speaker 5 (03:35):
I did.

Speaker 3 (03:35):
She arrived from South Carolina planning to torture you.

Speaker 6 (03:39):
No, you can picture it right, like what are.

Speaker 3 (03:41):
You doing the wrong potatoes?

Speaker 4 (03:44):
But you know that's like you know, mother daughter stuff right,
Like that stuff happens all the time.

Speaker 3 (03:49):
But yeah, I need to get your mom on the.

Speaker 4 (03:51):
Second, young mother. Oh my god, she'll defend yourself. I know,
I know, my most You're like, well.

Speaker 6 (03:55):
Stick to her gun.

Speaker 3 (03:57):
Well in South Carolina is the way we do it.

Speaker 6 (04:01):
You can always just go.

Speaker 8 (04:02):
Box box mashed potatoes the way to go. I tried
them one time and they were delicious. It was like
I cheated on a test and got an a I
will never peel another potato again.

Speaker 5 (04:17):
I like that.

Speaker 3 (04:17):
On the Hungry Jack, it's pretty good, aren't those powdered?
And his hold on Earth could be in that?

Speaker 6 (04:23):
Nothing is no health benefit.

Speaker 5 (04:26):
Do they taste good?

Speaker 6 (04:27):
But they taste good?

Speaker 5 (04:28):
Really?

Speaker 6 (04:29):
Yeah, they taste good.

Speaker 3 (04:30):
Can I give you a hot tip on Thanksgiving? No?

Speaker 6 (04:34):
Actually you can't because you don't eat the food.

Speaker 3 (04:35):
No, no, no, no, I'm telling you a hot tip for Thanksgiving.

Speaker 6 (04:39):
Go to a really nice restaurant.

Speaker 3 (04:42):
Nobody's yelling at anybody, hot.

Speaker 5 (04:45):
Ship and there are no dishes.

Speaker 3 (04:48):
Yes, Davio's actually packs a box of traditional Thanksgiving leftover
so you can have the sandwidge and all the trimmings
the next day. That's after you have your meal that
you didn't have to book or invite anyone to.

Speaker 6 (05:03):
I like it.

Speaker 9 (05:03):
I like spending time with family of course too. Boy, yeah,
you chat it up. Watch football.

Speaker 5 (05:09):
It's fine.

Speaker 6 (05:10):
Bad if you had a restaurant in the football game
going to be on.

Speaker 3 (05:13):
A lot of restaurants have the screens.

Speaker 6 (05:15):
Yeah, man, I might consider it.

Speaker 3 (05:16):
I have a Thanksgiving question.

Speaker 11 (05:18):
You can only pick one mashed potatoes or stuffing. You
can't have both, which one do you pick?

Speaker 6 (05:26):
Oh?

Speaker 5 (05:26):
I love this question.

Speaker 3 (05:28):
Stuffing every time.

Speaker 5 (05:29):
I'm stuffing every time.

Speaker 6 (05:32):
Thank you.

Speaker 3 (05:33):
I'm really good. Stuffing makes the meal and a sweet
potato castle.

Speaker 5 (05:38):
Role that's good too.

Speaker 3 (05:40):
Yeah, you don't need mashed potatoes. You've got sweet potatoes,
you've got yams, you've got all the trimmings. Leave the
potatoes alone, especially a lot of.

Speaker 5 (05:49):
Drama with the potatoes.

Speaker 3 (05:50):
Yeah, imagine you showed up at your mother's house with
a box of potatoes like that wouldn't go over well? No, yeah,
see I would do that. Oh god, why not? They're
not bad? Okay, you're mister clean when it comes to food.
You're not bringing box potatoes to and boxoad potato.

Speaker 9 (06:07):
No, it's they're hungry hungry jack. That's a good brand.
But I'm a sweet potatoes guy. That's my thing.

Speaker 3 (06:13):
So what are you gonna do? Boxoad potato and hamburger helper? No?

Speaker 6 (06:17):
Oh that's good too. This is this is my childhood
that we're talking about.

Speaker 1 (06:21):
You.

Speaker 9 (06:22):
But I'm a sweet potatoes guy. The marshmallows, that's that's
my favorite.

Speaker 3 (06:26):
Marshmallows.

Speaker 5 (06:27):
Yeah, I don't marshmallow. You don't do I know it
looks very good.

Speaker 3 (06:33):
Nobody puts marshmallows on sweet potatoes. You dare it ruins
the sweet potatoes. Marshmallows potatoes, Oh my god.

Speaker 6 (06:44):
What's good.

Speaker 3 (06:44):
I'm never coming to your house for Thanksgiving, not that
I would be invited.

Speaker 6 (06:48):
Lord knows this is.

Speaker 5 (06:50):
This is getting very judge here.

Speaker 6 (06:51):
Yeah, you don't even eat, starve yourself on Thanksgiving.

Speaker 3 (06:55):
You can't judge my favorite day.

Speaker 2 (06:57):
So Lisa was just telling us about how she got
in this big fight with her mom about mashed potatoes,
of all things, a couple of Thanksgivings ago. So we
had you guys tell us some weird food stories rounding Thanksgiving,
and then we actually had Lisa's mom call in to
tell us her side of that story.

Speaker 5 (07:15):
It's the best of billion Lisa in the morning and
this is number four.

Speaker 3 (07:18):
All of a sudden, we have all kinds of food controversy.

Speaker 9 (07:21):
It's really funny, like we'll have these elaborate discussions, you know,
when we'll get like, you know, fifty talk back, we'll
do a food one on Thanksgiving. I got about five hundred,
Like what everybody wants to talk about? Everybody mashed potatoes?

Speaker 6 (07:35):
What do you think?

Speaker 5 (07:35):
Good morning?

Speaker 11 (07:36):
From Connecticut here, no way, mashed potatoes all the way.

Speaker 5 (07:41):
I could go without stuffing any day.

Speaker 8 (07:44):
Man.

Speaker 5 (07:44):
Well that was the question, mashed over stuffing. What's your favorite?

Speaker 3 (07:47):
I just don't think mashed potatoes are necessary on Thanksgiving.
That is because you've got yams, you've got stuffing, you've
got sweet potato, you've got other vegetables, You've got a
lot of flavor there, and then you've got the bland
mashed potatoes that you have to put a half a
stick of butter on top of just having it and
salt and then the gray Yeah.

Speaker 6 (08:07):
Oh no, the salt and the butter's I'm telling you.

Speaker 11 (08:11):
Okay, Now, I'll that we've declared stuffing over mashed potatoes.

Speaker 12 (08:15):
What do we have a wet.

Speaker 3 (08:17):
Stuffing or like that, dried fluffy stuffing?

Speaker 11 (08:20):
And is it corn stuffing or corn bread stuffing or
what kind? Just traditional? I'm a traditional girl. I don't
mind the wet one if it has a little crunch
to it. But I don't eat anything else on Thanksgiving
butt stuffing in the appetizer.

Speaker 5 (08:36):
Yeah, I love stuffing.

Speaker 3 (08:37):
I think corn bread and sausage, A little sausage and
your stuffing.

Speaker 4 (08:40):
By the way, I like the traditional one dry with
a little sausage could be great, well.

Speaker 3 (08:45):
Because you have the gravy to wet out the dryness. Yeah,
that's the thing about the Thanksgiving meal. You need so
much stuff to make the actual food taste good. You know,
the turkey has no taste and most of the it
comes out dry.

Speaker 5 (09:01):
Then you need the cranberry sauce, and.

Speaker 3 (09:03):
You got to soak it down with gravy before you
touch it.

Speaker 9 (09:06):
I saw a TikTok this week of a guy took
cooking a turkey and he injected it with so much butter.

Speaker 5 (09:12):
Oh yeah, that's the secret.

Speaker 9 (09:13):
You put a ton of butter into it. That sounds
sounds good. We were supposed to have Lisa's mom on
the phone calling.

Speaker 6 (09:19):
In, but she is not answering the phone. Yeah, I
don't know what she is. She's your little moody.

Speaker 3 (09:23):
I can just.

Speaker 13 (09:24):
Picture Lisa's mother getting on there to defend yourself and.

Speaker 3 (09:28):
Being like, I think made mashed potatoes.

Speaker 14 (09:30):
I know all about mashed potatoes.

Speaker 3 (09:32):
I know everything there is about massed potato.

Speaker 5 (09:34):
Oa'xtico thing.

Speaker 6 (09:37):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (09:37):
Okay, well apparently not because well she's not boycotting the show.

Speaker 3 (09:44):
I just taught her.

Speaker 4 (09:44):
She was ready to come on the show. Dow know
why they're not answering their phone. Yeah, it's so weird. Well,
maybe we'll have her on later.

Speaker 6 (09:50):
What we wanted to confirm or deny the mash potato story?

Speaker 5 (09:53):
Well, can we call her?

Speaker 6 (09:55):
We did, We've called multiple times.

Speaker 5 (09:57):
Okay, what's going on?

Speaker 3 (09:59):
It took a controversial.

Speaker 12 (10:02):
Good morning, it's good to talk back. Subject would be
what kind of games do people play at Thanksgiving? If
it's board games or just random internet games? Looking for
some family Thanksgiving games?

Speaker 3 (10:18):
Okay?

Speaker 14 (10:18):
Thank you?

Speaker 6 (10:19):
Playing games?

Speaker 3 (10:20):
Bill board games? Well, any kind of other thing? You
don't want to get me going on? Do you like
any I'm sorry, what fun of you? You're no fun.
I'm just gonna make a statement and then we'll move on. Okay,
Never ever, ever have I played a board game? Okay,
now we'll just move on.

Speaker 9 (10:35):
You never played Shoots and Ladders when you were a kid? No, Candyland, No,
we were usually on the pane.

Speaker 5 (10:40):
Monopoly, Lisa, I love Monopoly.

Speaker 3 (10:43):
No you want to know? Okay, you want to hear
about the games? Every single time I go into the
hallway closet at home, right to get a jacket or
a coat at your car. Up on the shelf, Yeah,
up on the shelf. There's a stack of board games
that Michelle has had, right, and every single time I
get a jacket, I said, when can we throw the
board games away?

Speaker 6 (11:02):
Does she play them's?

Speaker 3 (11:04):
I've never seen her playing a board game in my life.
So anyway, back to the food. I like Trouble.

Speaker 6 (11:09):
Trouble was my favorite favorite board game.

Speaker 3 (11:11):
I get antsy. I'm sorry, I know.

Speaker 9 (11:13):
Listen, the only game I play on Thanksgiving is how
much food I can eat, because the general rule is
I don't eat until I'm full.

Speaker 6 (11:19):
I eat until I hate myself. Lisa's mom, she's.

Speaker 3 (11:23):
Oh, we got her. Okay, we're gonna go live. Jude
bluffed in South Carolina and Lisa's morning. Good morning, Sue,
Hey mom, Hi, how are you good? Sue? You've got
to clear up this potato controversy that you created when
you came for Thanksgiving dinner and a beautiful daughter Releas's home.
Yeah you, what's going on with the potatoes?

Speaker 2 (11:46):
Well?

Speaker 13 (11:47):
Not, come on, you know, potatoes are like a thing
at Thanksgiving dinner. You gotta have them perfect. It's not
like this Tuesday night or something We've got to have
this really good.

Speaker 4 (11:57):
I know, but Mom, you tell you, but momy's well,
I bought like the baking potatoes, and then you said
that I was supposed to use Yukon gold potatoes.

Speaker 3 (12:06):
Well, your grandmother, my mother, all of you gold, and
your grandmother vic Nikki also.

Speaker 13 (12:13):
Used Yukon gold.

Speaker 5 (12:15):
Oh all right.

Speaker 3 (12:16):
So I was like, we'll tell you, I will tell
you my mother and all the queen and mashed potatoes.
Well she's the queen.

Speaker 13 (12:24):
What's the queen?

Speaker 3 (12:26):
So what you're saying, Sue, is that your daughter Lisa
ruined a long standing potato tradition in the family.

Speaker 13 (12:34):
I'm kelly enough, but I never really thought to say anything,
you know beforehand?

Speaker 4 (12:41):
Yeah, well you did, Like I didn't know that there
was this like yukon gold tradition.

Speaker 5 (12:48):
Yeahs and most people don't.

Speaker 3 (12:50):
And most people don't nobody here does. Just see, you know, Sue,
all of the phone calls, all of the talkbacks are saying,
what body.

Speaker 13 (12:59):
Enjoys their mash?

Speaker 4 (12:59):
But you know that's like the Well, the good thing,
mom is that we've moved on, right as we moved
on a while.

Speaker 3 (13:11):
But one more thing, one more thing before you go.
If you had the choice of only one. Would it
be potatoes or stuffing at Thanksgiving?

Speaker 2 (13:20):
Oh?

Speaker 13 (13:20):
God, mashed potatoes?

Speaker 6 (13:21):
Yeah yeah. And you know why, you know why my
mother in law, that's the Queen of mas Patata.

Speaker 4 (13:26):
All right.

Speaker 2 (13:26):
So earlier this week Ashley Feldman from Jamming came to
us because she had a problem and knows that Billy
is the food guy and figured maybe he could pull
some strings for her.

Speaker 5 (13:37):
This is number three.

Speaker 3 (13:38):
Now you've got a problem. There is a legendary place
in Weymouth around the holidays. It's called the Venetian, right.

Speaker 13 (13:47):
Yes it is. And I wouldn't necessarily say that my
problem is with the Venetians, as it's more so with you.
You know, everybody that's talking to me about being on
the radio, they stayed in Oh my gosh, you worked
down the hall from Billy and Lisa. I'm like, no
one cares about that. I'm trying to talk about ninety
four point five. But they're always like, well, Billy got

(14:08):
the key to the city, doesn't have the key to
the Venetian. Well, and they want to make that clear.

Speaker 3 (14:13):
Someday, Ashley, someday we'll let you in the studio. It's
kind of a big deal here. But right now you've
got the phone. So you've got a reservation. It's impossible
to get a reservation at the Venetian in Weymouth around
the holidays, the decoration, the food, everything is amazing. So
you have a reservation for two.

Speaker 13 (14:31):
Yes, I have never dealt with this. I mean, you
would think I'm trying to get into Fort Knox get
in this literal reservation. But I got the reservation. I
made it for two. And then I come to find
out that I'm going to have guests during the time
of the reservation. And how much of a loser will
I be if I'm like, goodbye, we're going to Venetian.
Just wait here at my home until we get back.
I can't do that, Okay, So I wrote them. I

(14:51):
wrote them on Instagram and I said, hey, guys, I
already have this reservation. I'm just trying to add to
people feel like the stalker ex girlfriend. They read them
message and just didn't respond. I got it. Yes, they
left me on bread. It's all fun now, I said,
I got to get the big guns. I've got to
call in, you know, Tilly and Lisa, because you got.

Speaker 3 (15:13):
The big show here in the iHeart family House. So okay,
here's the deal. Here's what I'm gonna do. Okay, besides
proved the fact that we're the big gun here, I'm
reaching out.

Speaker 5 (15:25):
I have some facts.

Speaker 13 (15:28):
I actually pray it does. No no, no, no, no no,
use this for the rest of my life.

Speaker 3 (15:32):
Okay. We need to hear from anybody who is connected
with the Venetian in Weymouth. We're not asking for anything
out of the ordinary. All she wants to do is
up and.

Speaker 5 (15:43):
Already existing as they get a party of four, a
party of hold on, a.

Speaker 3 (15:46):
Second, hold on.

Speaker 6 (15:48):
Do you see what he's doing, Ashley.

Speaker 3 (15:49):
He doesn't have the connection, so he's using this show.
This is unbelievable. Okay, I'm busy. I'm not making the
phone calls on this. Here's what I'm going to promise, though,
if we get your reservation bumped to four, I will
give them a slot on my food radio show on
WB's and news radio. Oh well, promote the restaurant, okay,

(16:11):
because it deserves promoting.

Speaker 11 (16:13):
Sweetening the deal.

Speaker 3 (16:15):
I like that the deal has been sweetened. I don't
care if you work in the kitchen. I don't care
if you're one of the weight people on staff or
the chef, the executive chef.

Speaker 4 (16:24):
Send us a d M Billy, d M me, DM
Justin or even Ashley, And yeah, if you've got to, you.

Speaker 13 (16:32):
Know what, I will sweeten the deal at gem in
ninety four or five. Double XLT shirt also coming your way.

Speaker 3 (16:39):
Oh no, you're not allowed to do that. You're not
going to take credit for me getting the reservation and
say it was because of the shirt you gave away. Shirt?
Is that pup dog? What's up? Pump? Okay, so we
need to hear somebody from the Venetian. This has to happen.

Speaker 6 (16:57):
They're going to reach out.

Speaker 3 (16:58):
So I don't know, Ashley, were it's the date of
your reds.

Speaker 13 (17:01):
My REDI isn't until December twenty third. We're talking about
a couple of days outside of Christmas, so you know
we have time. I did ask you about of some
months ago. But who's counting.

Speaker 3 (17:10):
Oh my god, you can't keep throwing shots at me.
I'm trying to help you out here.

Speaker 13 (17:13):
All right, I'm sorry, I'm sorry.

Speaker 4 (17:14):
You know what.

Speaker 13 (17:14):
It's the alcoholism?

Speaker 6 (17:16):
Yeah?

Speaker 13 (17:16):
Sorry?

Speaker 3 (17:16):
Are you still drinking this morning? Okay, listen, it's not
like we need a table all you have to do
is pull a couple of chairs over for the existing table, okay,
and making a table for four. So if you're a manager,
if you're whoever is connected to the Venetian and the owner, okay,
you can call in. We'll put you on the show
here and give her her reservation and then I'll give

(17:37):
you your sword.

Speaker 6 (17:37):
Just respond to her DM they left her on red.

Speaker 3 (17:39):
Oh no, no, no, no, no, they have to respond
to us otherwise Ashley is going to take credit.

Speaker 6 (17:45):
Oh that's that's true, dancing around.

Speaker 3 (17:48):
I got my reservation. Huh yeah, okay, well yeah, gem
in ninety four point five, there's anymore. There's no point
bust in hip hop. It's not the call that any
blazing him. All right, thank you, Ashley. We hope we
helped you.

Speaker 6 (18:04):
Okay, think about that. That's pretty good. You're offering up
your food show though. Yeah, you're the food guy.

Speaker 3 (18:13):
You're listening to Food for Thought with Billy and watch
You by the Box Center.

Speaker 2 (18:18):
Hey, guys, welcome back into the best of Billy and
Lisa in the morning. It's producer Riley and I am
counting down the top five moments of this short holiday
week for you. So just a couple of minutes ago,
we were talking about how Ashley Feldman needed a favor
from Billy Costa, aka the food Guy. And we have
an update for you because on the Billy and Lisa Show,
we make stuff happen.

Speaker 5 (18:39):
It's number two.

Speaker 3 (18:40):
Morning Ashley, Good morning, William. Are you ready to eat
some girl?

Speaker 5 (18:45):
Listen?

Speaker 1 (18:46):
I I will at my Thanksgiving table tomorrow when they
ask me what are you thankful for? I will say
Billy and Lisa, because I've never seen power like this.

Speaker 5 (18:56):
I I I really thought you guys were maybe losing
a little bit of your time.

Speaker 3 (19:00):
Why would you think that? Well, because I was. I
wasn't sure.

Speaker 5 (19:03):
I you know, I came on yesterday and I had
asked it, yes, test it.

Speaker 6 (19:05):
Well, let's back up the Billy. Let's explain to this
I was.

Speaker 3 (19:10):
I got it. I will explain, and that is I
came a couple of weeks ago.

Speaker 1 (19:15):
For weeks, I've been seeing Billy in the hallways and
I've been saying, you're just not who you used to be.

Speaker 5 (19:20):
You're the restaurant guy, right, Well, hey, I need this favor.

Speaker 1 (19:23):
I need you to hit somebody up at the Venetian
in Weymouth, and I need to add I got the resie.

Speaker 3 (19:29):
I need to add two people. I've been saying it
for weeks to no avail.

Speaker 1 (19:33):
I'm getting nothing, a lot of nothing this So I
thought to myself, maybe the people were right about you.

Speaker 5 (19:37):
Maybe you are losing your touch.

Speaker 3 (19:39):
Well, you have to understand, this is a big program,
so we have you want to schedule so when you
bring something to us, we can't.

Speaker 5 (19:45):
There was finally an opening.

Speaker 3 (19:46):
There's a lot going up, but we've got we had
an opening, right, Yeah, you gave me, You gave me
the opening. You called me.

Speaker 1 (19:51):
I was hungover yesterday driving back from from Stevie Nicks
and we had a little convo about it. And I
would like to tell everybody from Kiss Went Away that
we weren't even finished with the conversation and the Venetian
was calling me. They were dming me, they were apologizing
for the leaving me on red and I would like
to full on admit that Billy and Lisa still got it.

Speaker 3 (20:14):
So the Venetian in Weymouth is a famous restaurant, especially
around the holidays, because they decorate for Christmas in the
holidays like nobody else.

Speaker 1 (20:22):
I don't know what they're given out there for Christmas.
I mean, the decorations are nice. Maybe they're I don't know.
I don't know what's going on, but it is impossible
to get a reservation impossible.

Speaker 3 (20:30):
So you got a reservation for two, and when you
came to me and Lisa, you needed to up it
to four. You had tried multiple times and nobody was
getting back to you. I guess they don't want to
the JEM. Well, there's that, but they're also very busy
at the Venetian this time of the year. So Lisa
and I went on and made a very brief mention,

(20:51):
and within about two minutes, Lisa, you were getting dmail.

Speaker 4 (20:54):
My phone was blowing up. The owner people that work there,
all saying that they will help Ashley.

Speaker 5 (21:00):
Yeah, that is so sweet.

Speaker 1 (21:01):
They clearly did not listen to hip hop music, but
I'm very grateful that they listened to kiss because now
I've never seen anything. I literally didn't even finish the
conversation with you, and the DM had already come through
and they titled it get Ashley the Reservation for four.

Speaker 2 (21:17):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (21:17):
I think we actually have the restaurant on the phone,
and that would be Eric. Eric, good morning, Good morning,
Good morning, everybody. So, Erica, you the general manager, the
manager out of the Venetian.

Speaker 14 (21:30):
I am the owner.

Speaker 5 (21:31):
Oh yes, Bill out Billy for the long Head is.

Speaker 6 (21:35):
Going to be so big after this.

Speaker 3 (21:37):
It's already okay, So Eric, I want to be clear.
Mine and Lisa's very quick mentioned on the Billy and
Lisa Morning Show, got right to the owner.

Speaker 6 (21:46):
You direct, Well, Eric.

Speaker 1 (21:52):
Has no taste in music, but a great restaurant and
we appreciate it right right right listen, I am I
I it was all about me just trying to tell
Billy that he didn't have the pool that he used
to and Billy and Lee so they definitely still got it.

Speaker 3 (22:07):
But nice accuse me of not having poll because we
know it's done. I know you need to lose the attitude.
You got the extra two seats.

Speaker 5 (22:15):
You know, I am, and I'm very appreciative.

Speaker 3 (22:17):
I can't wait. Eric, I got to ask you when
did the decoration thing at the Venetian? When did that start?

Speaker 2 (22:23):
For you?

Speaker 6 (22:23):
Guys?

Speaker 14 (22:24):
We started it three years ago?

Speaker 6 (22:26):
Actually wow?

Speaker 3 (22:28):
And I mean you go all out and when is
it up and when does it come down?

Speaker 14 (22:34):
Yeah, so the last two years we've been starting the
installation on November one and finishing it on January thirty first.

Speaker 2 (22:42):
Wow.

Speaker 14 (22:43):
We've always had people that have said, hey, do it
year round, but for us, it's not as special. But
the demand the last year was so incredible that we
thought for this year, for this summer season, that we're
here summer season. I'm sorry for this Christmas season that
we actually did at October first, and we went live
with the reservations on August first, and so there were

(23:06):
a lot of people that were just you know, they
put their timers on, they put their notifications on, and
within ten minutes on August first, I believe we had
about ten thousand reservations already made and we'll do about
fifty thousand people literally in the holiday season.

Speaker 3 (23:21):
So it is it is crazy, crazy fifty thousand people.
And Ashley, you were worried about yourself, count count me
in is one for sure.

Speaker 5 (23:30):
Listen the amount of espresso Martinez I'm going to drink
at your restaurant.

Speaker 3 (23:33):
It'll be all worth it in the end, Okay, Yeah, Eric,
I would just double the price just for her tab. Yeah,
like if if the drink is twenty dollars, maybe forty
because she feels so guilty right now. I have to
cut her off. Lisa, you've been there, haven't you.

Speaker 4 (23:47):
I've never actually I've driven past there, but I've never
been able to get a reservation.

Speaker 5 (23:51):
But now that we know, Eric, yeah you're in. Maybe
next year I'll be there.

Speaker 3 (23:55):
Well, Eric, since we got you, can we get a
table before.

Speaker 1 (24:02):
Now?

Speaker 3 (24:02):
Eric, it's about this time you should inform actually that
her table is outside.

Speaker 5 (24:10):
Yeah, I figured, I figured. I love that like a
snow globe.

Speaker 11 (24:18):
Eric quick.

Speaker 3 (24:19):
Yeah, thank you.

Speaker 14 (24:20):
Things I want to mention, Yeah, Billy, you still have clout,
you still have clout, Thank you for sure?

Speaker 2 (24:25):
You know.

Speaker 3 (24:25):
So of course we all listened.

Speaker 14 (24:27):
I was literally at the gym yesterday morning and everybody
from my team was calling me. Yes, we do listen
to you guys, certainly.

Speaker 3 (24:37):
And we do have walkings available.

Speaker 14 (24:38):
That is sort of like kind of my full disclosure.

Speaker 6 (24:41):
Oh so people.

Speaker 14 (24:42):
Yeah, so people that can't get a reservation, we do
encourage them to come by at the bar is walk
ins only. And speaking of outside, we actually just uh
we did a Christmas outdoor installation. We have an ice
cream truck that we convert now for the Christmas season
with loaded hotch Awful chocolate lid, hot Apple cider, donut bites,

(25:05):
Christmas canoli.

Speaker 3 (25:06):
So again, my god, this is you have a trailer
outside the restaurant?

Speaker 6 (25:11):
We do Wow?

Speaker 3 (25:12):
Wait if that doesn't say Happy Thanksgiving? Yeah, yeah, well
there it is. There's your ice cream truck gets pulling
in for the weekend. To Eric. I will be in
touch with you because I want you to be a
guest on Food for Thought on WBZ news Radio. But
thank you so much for helping us out and helping
Ashley out. Ashley, you want to apologize, Eric.

Speaker 1 (25:33):
I cannot wait to come to the restaurant and I
might lie and tell everyone that Billy is part of
the forge, just so maybe I'll get some special treatment
because I've learned my lesson.

Speaker 5 (25:42):
Oh my god, I think the tab page.

Speaker 3 (25:49):
The reality her outside Eric, next to the ice cream truck.
Thanks Eric, It's almost insulting.

Speaker 6 (25:57):
How do you think that Bill Costa has no pull?

Speaker 3 (25:59):
He wouldn't be able to get you into that reservation?
Do you know who he is? He is the Bill Cofflin.

Speaker 7 (26:06):
Don't you ever forget it?

Speaker 3 (26:08):
Okay?

Speaker 1 (26:09):
Never?

Speaker 5 (26:09):
Turkey Toss is a huge kiss one await tradition.

Speaker 2 (26:12):
We were live from Tony C's at Assembly Row on
Wednesday morning, crowning the new Turkey Toss Champions, and we
did it was Arlington High School. It was a major
upset and Billy and Lisa chatted with the two guys
who won it for the school.

Speaker 3 (26:28):
It's number one. Lisa and I and Justin are sitting
here in the dining room at Tony C's with the champions,
the Turkey Toss Champions twenty twenty five, Arlington High School.
The spy ponders and we've got Drew Beck and Brady
burkin Hoo's news becond, Who's what they import you from somewhere? Like, wow,
you got to talk right into the mic. Yeah, it's

(26:50):
a Dutch last name. Okay. Yeah, So Brady, you were
a chaucer. Yeah, and I kind of knew the second
you stepped up to the starting line, the toss line,
that all the other schools were in trouble. Yeah.

Speaker 15 (27:03):
We're really confident going into this. We knew what we
could do. We practiced a little bit yesterday and we
were very confident with what we did. Our coaches were
saying like that might be a record if you guys
can throw that, and we ended up throwing it. You know,
someone said might have been a record, you know, it
might not been one, but we're very proudful what we did.

Speaker 5 (27:17):
So when you guys were practicing, were you using a
frozen turkey?

Speaker 16 (27:20):
Yeah, we were using a frozen turkey. I think the
one we were using was a little bit heavier than
the one we ended up using today, So many a
good move, but also it might have might have scared
scared us a little bit.

Speaker 3 (27:32):
You know, it hit like a truck.

Speaker 16 (27:33):
So it was good to practice with it though, because
it made this a lot easier I think.

Speaker 3 (27:36):
Now, justin you were on the field when the bird
went in the air when Arlington tossed it. What were
you thinking when that bird went up?

Speaker 9 (27:43):
When the bird went into the air, like, my soul
left my body, like that is this really happening? And
then my second thought was, here's no way he's gonna
catch it. And then when he caught it, it was
just complete pandemonium. I couldn't believe it.

Speaker 3 (27:54):
It's a record, it's a record. Yeah. It kind of
had the feel of game over right guys. Uh yeah,
Oh did they not have a mic now or what?

Speaker 2 (28:04):
Hell?

Speaker 6 (28:04):
The manager grabbed the mic? Oh damn, gonna need the word.

Speaker 3 (28:07):
He's taking charge the team managed. Actually this is a
cool story because is it Orady forced?

Speaker 6 (28:13):
Yeah, it's toy Forrest.

Speaker 3 (28:14):
Now going into Turkey jas that you were the team manager,
but you were originally supposed to be the receiver, right.

Speaker 17 (28:21):
Yeah, yesterday I was practicing, Brady was throwing an absolute
bomb to me with that heavy turkey, and I got
the first one I caught, fine, didn't hurt at all.

Speaker 3 (28:30):
But the second one I got under.

Speaker 17 (28:32):
It and it like popped up when I fell back
with it and it hit my like chin and my
and I fell like I broke my jaw and it
like my ears started hurting and everything, and I'm like,
I called Drew.

Speaker 6 (28:44):
Beck up that night.

Speaker 3 (28:45):
I'm like, oh, you might have to step up. Wow,
my jaw is not feeling to good. They have to
bring you under the concussive tent. Yeah, they did. They're
escorting them now into the uh tent show. Brady, were
you thinking when the bird left your hands?

Speaker 15 (29:02):
I was so confident. I wanted not to turn around
and just let it sail, but you know, I was confident.
I need to see my guy catch it, so you know,
I turned around and I was like, oh, it's over.
I saw him back pedal and I was like, it's
our year now you guys are both g one right, Yes, sir,
So Brady, where are you headed to? I'm going to
play a line at the University of Wisconsin.

Speaker 3 (29:22):
I'm sorry, Wisconsin. That's one of the biggest football programs
in the country. Yes, sir, you think you're ready for that? Yeah, well.

Speaker 4 (29:30):
Come on.

Speaker 3 (29:31):
Yeah, the day you arrive, you need to go into
the coach and let him know you're at the Turkey
Toss twenty twenty five winners. Oh, they already know the
video text of them already.

Speaker 12 (29:42):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (29:42):
So you're gonna be a cheesehead of course. Headed to
Wisconsin and Drew, You're going to Bryant University of Rhode Island, Yes, sir, Yes,
i am. That's a beautiful school. My son Chris went there. Yeah, awesome. Yeah,
it's I've heard great things about it.

Speaker 16 (29:56):
I'm sure you're sounding a good experience there, So I'm
excited to get down there and and have my own experience.

Speaker 3 (30:00):
So they've got a big football program as well.

Speaker 6 (30:03):
They do.

Speaker 3 (30:03):
They're putting a lot of money into it.

Speaker 16 (30:04):
I'm really excited about the future they have going there
and the next four years that I'm going to have there.

Speaker 3 (30:09):
So, yeah, so you've already toured the campus and been
down there.

Speaker 16 (30:13):
Yeah, I've been down there a lot of times. I've
been to plenty of games. I went down there in
April to a spring practice. I did a camp with
them over the summer. So I've good relationships with the coaches.
I met some of the players. But yeah, I'm just
I'm just really excited to get down there myself.

Speaker 5 (30:27):
I have a question for the two of you.

Speaker 4 (30:28):
How important was it that literally your entire school showed
up for this thing today.

Speaker 3 (30:33):
It's unreal.

Speaker 16 (30:34):
You know, the student support, It gets your heart racing,
It gets you really prepared, and you think about how
much you want to win it for them. It feels great,
you know, catching it and standing up and turning around
and seeing just a crowd of people just jumping up
and down, you know, getting really hype for us.

Speaker 3 (30:50):
How about you, Brady?

Speaker 15 (30:52):
Yeah, so our coaches, you know, our coaches were for
players for Onto high school, and they tell us the
stories about how they were so close.

Speaker 3 (30:59):
To win it their year. Think I think one of
our coaches dropped it, but he said it was good
distances dropped it. Wait, a minute. Your coaches were in
Turkey tooss, Yes, sir, they were.

Speaker 18 (31:10):
Prepared, younger stuff as generation it is, so, you know,
for them to have that much confidence in us, you know,
pretty much our whole team showed out for us today.

Speaker 3 (31:21):
You know, it means a lot to us, you know,
to see our brothers out there.

Speaker 15 (31:23):
So you know, we were confident and we knew we
were going to win this for them, and we're really
excited for next year to see who steps.

Speaker 3 (31:30):
Up for them.

Speaker 15 (31:30):
And you know we're gonna We're gonna keep in touch
with them and train them if we need to, but
we're ready.

Speaker 3 (31:35):
Well, your highlight reel is going to be all over kissing,
all over iHeart and as well as highlights on WBZ
TV four so your family can see what went down
here this morning. Your families. I'm excited. My mom watched
live and shout out. You're going to jingle ball Ye, yeah.

Speaker 6 (31:51):
Let's go. They were just at Maroon five.

Speaker 3 (31:53):
Yeah, first concert you guys went to Maroon five. We
were in the pit.

Speaker 16 (31:57):
It was my first concert ever. I've been in Maroon
five fan since I was four years old. I've been
listening to the music, so it was probably the best
best band I could have gone and seen. You know,
my first concert, I had a great time, saying almost
the entire set list.

Speaker 3 (32:10):
So what took you so long to get to your
first concert?

Speaker 6 (32:13):
I don't know.

Speaker 16 (32:14):
I've just never really been intrigued by concerts. I'm not
really a people's person, so big crowds. Being a part
of the crowd isn't really for me. So you're a
football guy, Yeah, I'm usually one on the field, so yeah, yeah,
I'm really excited about jingle Ball.

Speaker 3 (32:30):
Jingle Ball is going to be insane, edge shear, and
it's headlining. I mean, Olivia Dean is in the lineup.
What do you think about that? Ri, Yeah, I'm excited massive.
I love that Sere and I've listened to him since
I was a kid. Now, are you still having fainting spells?
Getting hit the face?

Speaker 1 (32:47):
I right.

Speaker 3 (32:51):
My visions to you case from their you will give
us a call if you they have to drive you
to the emergency. Yeah, dream Brady, you can't here on
my ears right now. Great job, Congratulations, you are Turkey
Toss champions. Thank you, thank you, and good luck at

(33:14):
school next fall.

Speaker 2 (33:14):
Well those were the top five moments of the week
he counted down by me producer Riley here on Kiss
What I wait? Remember, guys, we are still giving away

(33:37):
