Speaker 1 (00:00):
Well, good morning everybody, welcome back. It is a Tuesday morning.
The Billy and Lisa's show Today is October seventh. Lisa,
it's going to be warm, maybe the last warm day
of the week today.
Speaker 2 (00:09):
Yeah, summer like, but then like sixties for the rest
of the week.
Speaker 1 (00:12):
More of a fall feel.
Speaker 3 (00:13):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (00:14):
Yeah, So it's going to get cooler and then colder,
and then December will be here. In December fourteenth, our
jingle Ball presented by Capitol One is happening, starring Edge Sharon.
It's completely sold out, so you could win tickets with
us and I have a pair right now. Call us
six one seven nine three one one one. We'll take
caller twenty five and the keyword will be voice.
Speaker 4 (00:36):
I just wanted to call in comment that it's really
nice to hear Mike ev in the morning. I just
want to say, in the morning, his voice is the
most calming.
Speaker 5 (00:44):
It's a soothing voice. So it's really nice to have you.
Speaker 6 (00:48):
If you missed my Billy, but it's nice to have
my TV visiting.
Speaker 1 (00:53):
Have a great day.
Speaker 7 (00:54):
You ever share that Mike calming and soothing, I've never
felt that way about it. He gave a softs to
say whatever. If it's really maybe if I ever am
a parent, it'll help.
Speaker 1 (01:06):
Out be calming and soothing voice. There you go, There
you go. I will say though that earlier on in
the show, when you when you got here the first
segment or two. You know, obviously it's very early, we're
all very tired. We just got up, right, but it
was more soothing then. You seem to have woken up
a little bit.
Speaker 7 (01:21):
Yeah, I guess I have my coffee going now too.
I do give you, guys, carreact every time I do this, Like,
how the heck do you guys get up so early
every single day?
Speaker 5 (01:29):
Yeah, we don't really know either.
Speaker 3 (01:31):
We just want to pay our bills. Yeah, of motivates you, yeah,
out of necessity for applaud I mean it's not easy.
Speaker 1 (01:40):
We have the best job in the whole entire world.
We did okay that's wrong. Yeah, but you know, one
night can mess up the whole week. The Patriots game
on Sunday night, I stayed up for it all. I
slept two hours dead.
Speaker 5 (01:49):
Me too, and then I had the book club last night.
Speaker 1 (01:51):
Oh your double day.
Speaker 5 (01:52):
Yeah, I'm like, I cannot wait to take a nap today.
Speaker 3 (01:55):
Mondays and Tuesdays are critical right by by Wednesday or Thursday,
you can start to like around with it. Ey, there
something going on like a Thursday night. But if you
don't in bed Monday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, about like nine
years screwed.
Speaker 8 (02:06):
Well.
Speaker 7 (02:06):
Even last I was watching a series, a new series
I wanted to watch, like after one episode, like a
half a turn TV off.
Speaker 1 (02:12):
Yeah, because I will not go to bed.
Speaker 9 (02:13):
Yep, this is for the morning show. I know you
guys talked about Taylor's and Sabrina's songs sounding like the
Jonas Brothers song Cool. There's actually quite a few songs
on the album that sound a lot like other songs,
most notably the beginning of Wood sounding like the Jackson
vibes want You Back, or actually romantic sounding a lot
like Beverly Hills by Weezer or Teenage dirt Bag.
Speaker 1 (02:37):
Okay, i'ven't seen a lot about this. I don't think
the Taylor ripped anybody off. There are some similarities like
this is actually.
Speaker 3 (02:43):
Romantic, Oh yeah, I can hear it.
Speaker 1 (02:47):
And this is Weezer Beverly Hills.
Speaker 5 (02:53):
That's the same.
Speaker 3 (02:54):
I mean, I knew before you even did the comparison
and that's the only song I know from Wesa.
Speaker 1 (02:58):
Yeah, this similar, Yeah, and then I knew that would
had an interesting intro.
Speaker 5 (03:03):
I love this intro. It does, it does.
Speaker 1 (03:07):
A little bit. But I could go to the song
credits when the song came out and I did not
see any kind of credit towards Jackson five.
Speaker 3 (03:13):
I understand the inspiration that a lot of these artists
have probably given her in that song, and like, you
know her, I get it, But when does credit need
to be given? Is my only question?
Speaker 1 (03:23):
Well, I mean Max Martin produced the album. He's the
biggest producer of all time. I don't think he's like
would steal other people's music. He's got to know the rules.
Speaker 3 (03:32):
Yeah, I just find it interesting that they credited George
Michael right, But like, Okay, the Jonahs Brothers was just
way too close for me to think that it wasn't
like when you know it's such a popular song and
you've heard that song and she has like history with
Jonahs Brothers, you would think she would be like, I
don't want to have any song sound like them anywhere
near it?
Speaker 1 (03:49):
What about this one for Opal Light that's a hispanicsh song?
Speaker 7 (04:05):
I mean that they can't go and search the entire
world of music that make sure no song sounds.
Speaker 3 (04:11):
But these are like some iconic songs that are very close.
Speaker 1 (04:14):
Yeah there by the way, Yeah, I like the Taylor
Swift album. I know it's very controversial. People hate it
and people love it. I know, like maybe some real
like hardcore Swift. He's like, I don't like this for
whatever reason. Maybe the lyrics. I actually think their bang
is on it. Taylor Swift fan, I find myself going
back and listening to it. I swear to god, they're
pop bangers. That's like how I feel. Let's go to
(04:35):
Ellie online too in Ashland. Ellie, good morning, thank you
for joining the show.
Speaker 8 (04:40):
Good morning, how are you very good?
Speaker 1 (04:42):
You are caller twenty five for the sold out jingle
Ball tickets. I just need a keyword.
Speaker 6 (04:48):
It's voice.
Speaker 1 (04:49):
It is voice. Congratulations you go into the show. Thank
you so much. We'll see you there.
Speaker 10 (04:53):
Thank you so much.
Speaker 8 (04:54):
I'm so excited.
Speaker 1 (04:55):
Yeah, it's gonna be a great show. Ed Sharon's gonna
be there.
Speaker 6 (04:58):
Well, Billy and Lisa, we're on a grande rate there.
Speaker 1 (05:01):
We can't be friends. Welcome back to the show. Everybody.
Arianna got the Kellyoke treatment yesterday on the Kelly Clocks
and she did catch that.
Speaker 3 (05:08):
No, I did.
Speaker 1 (05:16):
Yeah, Billy and I talk about this all the time.
Whoever the person was, Maybe it was Kelly herself that
like had the idea for the Kelly Yoke segment, like
a daytime talk show where she does covers every single day,
is like genius. Yeah, it's amazing. Anyway, Lisa, do you
have your Halloween costume yet?
Speaker 2 (05:33):
All right, well, we're as a group, we're dressing up
as the cast of sever That is that happening, Yes,
it's happening.
Speaker 3 (05:40):
Okay, Okay, I got to get my Dylan outfit in
my little wig for him.
Speaker 5 (05:44):
We got to pull this together.
Speaker 1 (05:46):
Okay, and who am I again?
Speaker 3 (05:48):
You're you have the easiest one, your Mark. You don't
have to get a wig? Well Mark, Yeah, you gonna tie, yeah,
the Adam Scott character.
Speaker 1 (05:55):
Just get a suit. Okay, yeah, okay, So we're gonna
be sevent So I have a list right here of
the top pop culture costumes for twenty twenty five Halloween.
And actually at the end on the list is Severance. Good. Yeah,
ahead of the curve.
Speaker 3 (06:07):
We were talking about this dress six month.
Speaker 1 (06:08):
I know I need a costume to what do you
got on that list?
Speaker 11 (06:11):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (06:11):
Okay, yeah, whinny? Do you have your cost or you're
going to be.
Speaker 3 (06:14):
I'm going to be doing from seven.
Speaker 2 (06:16):
I'm going to be hell, this is a this is
gonna Benny classes.
Speaker 3 (06:20):
I needed like a little afro wig thing.
Speaker 1 (06:23):
Yeah, yeah, great, So Mikey, you need some ideas? Yes, okay, Well,
Sabrina Carpenter, I don't know. You have worn a blonde
wig at the radio stage for Taylor Swift for the
aerost it, so I'm going to say no on that.
Jeremy Allen White and the Bear anyone watched The Bear
on FX? No, but he's a chef, right, he's a
chef on the show. Yeah, he's going to play Bruce
Springsteen in the biopic that's coming out soon. I don't
(06:44):
see Mikey as as him, right, lest No.
Speaker 5 (06:46):
What about you and Kelsey go is the cold Play couple?
Speaker 3 (06:49):
Oh my god, that would be funny.
Speaker 1 (06:51):
That would be a good one, and that can be
overdone this year. Should just go ahead and do it.
Speaker 5 (06:54):
I think it will be done, but I don't know.
Speaker 1 (06:56):
Okay, wait, I see are you looking specifically for couples?
Cost him but yeah, that'll probably what you would want
and what we would do. But okay, I'm looking for
couples cost them on this, But what's the outfit there?
Speaker 3 (07:07):
You just have to wear like a his what he
wore was a blue shirt, a blue collar shirt and
walk around.
Speaker 1 (07:14):
Are you holding her really scared?
Speaker 7 (07:17):
Look you built out like a like a jumbo sean
like carried around.
Speaker 5 (07:22):
Yeah, that would be really cool.
Speaker 1 (07:23):
You could be Glinda from Wicked. Yeah. Yeah, Charlie XCX
is on the list. Michael B. Jordan from Sinners. You
know he played Stack and Smoke Brothers. Oh my god,
that was a great movie. Great movie, great movie. You
could be Frankenstein's Monster. That movie comes out on the
seventeenth of October. No, none of these are. None of
these like Scream Mikey V.
Speaker 7 (07:44):
You know one that would work for me, but that
that would be funny. It would be the Karen that
stole that kid's baseball.
Speaker 1 (07:49):
I think it was Phillies. Yeah, that's a good costume.
Somebody need to do that one that would be good.
The K Pop Demon Hunters of course. Yeah, that they're massive.
Love Boo boo. That's number two. Mikey. You could be
a lull there. You're familiar with the Labu boos. Oh yeah,
a little furry familiar alright, now have you you and
(08:10):
your wife haven't done the furry thing? And question? That's
not Oasis at number three top costume. Obviously they had
their big reunion this year. Anybody Oasis fans?
Speaker 3 (08:21):
No Wonderwall? Yeah, after.
Speaker 7 (08:25):
I think it's tougher and tougher to get like massive costumes,
Like the costume is becoming harder and harder to figure
out one that everybody gets.
Speaker 1 (08:32):
Yeah, number one is really surprising. Number one, the top
pop culture Halloween costume for twenty twenty five is Leonardo
DiCaprio in One Battle after Another.
Speaker 3 (08:44):
Just came out.
Speaker 1 (08:45):
It's a massive movie. I haven't seen it. It's supposed
to be unbelievable.
Speaker 7 (08:48):
And nowhere on there is an engage Travis Calstein to this.
Speaker 1 (08:53):
Nope, it's only Taylor Swift in her Life of a
Showgirl era.
Speaker 5 (08:56):
Oh I can see that. You could show up as
a as a show girl.
Speaker 3 (08:59):
Yeah, that's the easier, it's easy.
Speaker 2 (09:00):
Also, you know what else the celebrities in space, the
Katie Perry, you know, Black Bezos rocket costume. Yeah, yeah,
that would be hilarious, like the remember the blue suits they.
Speaker 1 (09:10):
Were, yes, yes, actually the tailor and Travis, Mikey, that
might be a shoeing for you and Kelsey. Yeah, but
I just don't know. I feel it's so overdone. Yeah okay,
well you can do it better.
Speaker 3 (09:21):
Always he meets an original. Okay, like like he wants
to get costs. I'm not when everyone's gonna be doing.
Speaker 1 (09:26):
Well, let's be honest, Kelsey, his wife is going to
pick out the costumes.
Speaker 3 (09:31):
She used to be a Patriots cheerleader. Have done that?
Speaker 1 (09:35):
I want to go.
Speaker 3 (09:37):
Yeah, yeah, yes, Taylor, she just has to be a big,
big b.
Speaker 5 (09:43):
But she got them and she got got to be
in the U n C.
Speaker 1 (09:46):
Blue Oh god, Yeah, that's actually a great.
Speaker 9 (09:49):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (09:50):
It's like your little headset and like a rip.
Speaker 1 (09:52):
Shirt and a backstory. She cheered for the Patriots when
the coach there.
Speaker 3 (09:55):
Exactly an NFL cheerleader. Kelsey is an NFL chaerad not.
Speaker 1 (10:00):
Going down this path, but the chair leader late. But Mikey,
you got to stop beefing up vulcancys and Jesse. You
got act protein over there. You gotta startyting some on
some cal or some Oh my God, that's perfect. I
don't think we figured out. Okay, all right, Jordan, Well
there is that a lock your things?
Speaker 3 (10:19):
Get?
Speaker 5 (10:20):
Does she have white stiletto boots?
Speaker 1 (10:21):
I'm sure we'll find now that.
Speaker 7 (10:23):
Yeah, she's a great war Her original patriots pomp poms
are pretty crazy.
Speaker 3 (10:28):
Do you ask her to use them? Sometimes?
Speaker 1 (10:30):
All right? I deal with it every day.
Speaker 3 (10:34):
Just seems like a missed opportunity.
Speaker 1 (10:36):
Yeah, Lisa.
Speaker 5 (10:37):
Now the entertainment update with a Billy constup.
Speaker 2 (10:43):
Okay, Well, I'm sitting in for Billy because Billy is
in Africa right now, so we're holding down the Ford
for him. But we have a lot to talk about
it entertainment, because Taylor Swift was on Jimmy Fallon last
night and they played this little game where he presented
her with five rumors that have been swirling around and
then she went, you know, through them, one by one.
And the first rumor was about whether Ed Sharon actually
(11:06):
found out about her engagement on social.
Speaker 3 (11:09):
He doesn't have a phone.
Speaker 5 (11:12):
He doesn't have a phone.
Speaker 2 (11:13):
Can you write a whole album about an old phone
that he had or something?
Speaker 3 (11:16):
But he doesn't have one that works.
Speaker 1 (11:18):
It's true, that's true, So.
Speaker 12 (11:19):
He doesn't have a phone. And this is like one
thing I love about him. It's very eccentric love it.
But when I'm going through being like hey, like you know, hey,
who should be FaceTime? I'm going through my texts and
being like, who have I texted within.
Speaker 3 (11:36):
The last like months of my life? And he just wasn't.
Speaker 5 (11:40):
There because you have to, like he's you have to work.
Speaker 1 (11:44):
How you get a hold of in the batsy to email.
Speaker 12 (11:46):
Him, and then you want to set a FaceTime. He
has to find an iPad and they have to give
it to him, like he's a child that give the
iPad too.
Speaker 13 (11:55):
Yes, And and then this is one of.
Speaker 12 (11:58):
My absolute favorite people on the.
Speaker 5 (12:01):
Planet and I know it.
Speaker 12 (12:03):
And then when the news came out, I was like,
oh my god, we forgot to call ed.
Speaker 5 (12:08):
Yeah, and he did.
Speaker 2 (12:09):
He found out on Instagram this like everybody else. Yeah,
it's amazing that he does not have a phone.
Speaker 1 (12:14):
I kind of respect it. I'm kind of jealous of
it a little bit. I have a friend of mine
that goes up to New Hampshire, Maine every weekend with
his lady, and every weekend on Friday, on the way up,
they turn their phones off and they don't turn them
on again until they're coming home on Sunday.
Speaker 7 (12:28):
Well, you've seen you know, obviously, you know Gary Vee
is right all over social media. He's saying that twenty
twenty six will be the year of like being unplugged.
It's become cool to unplug or like sign off from
your phone for a little bit phone down, like even
like my basement of my house has bad service and.
Speaker 1 (12:42):
I like love it. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (12:43):
The only reason why I keep my phone around is
for my kids, like if they need something that's like
the one thing.
Speaker 1 (12:48):
Which true. I just I really don't need to be
checking Instagram a thousand times a day, right.
Speaker 3 (12:53):
I deactuated Facebook yesterday because I was just checking face
and I do. The thing is I don't post on Facebook,
Like Facebook's like an old app. It's more just like
I scroll, and I'm like, why am I swrolling on Facebook?
Like I don't even use Facebook, So I actuated it.
Speaker 14 (13:08):
Well.
Speaker 2 (13:08):
Another rumor that was swirling was that during the speech
at Selena Gomez's wedding, Taylor started talking all about her wedding.
Speaker 12 (13:17):
I got to see her be the most elegant, gorgeous
not not only bride, but just vision that I've ever
seen in my life. I've never seen anything so beautiful
as her on her wedding day. I love and she
deserves all of this happiness.
Speaker 3 (13:31):
Benny is he is the best. He is so funny,
he's the best.
Speaker 12 (13:36):
So I did make a speech, but I actually made
a point not to mention anything about my engagement. Nobody
wants you to be like, hey, I know this is
your wedding day.
Speaker 5 (13:46):
But she's so right, like it's so tough being her.
Speaker 2 (13:52):
She almost at one point said she was going to
like take her ring off just so like there was
no like talk about her wedding over Selina herself.
Speaker 3 (14:00):
Yeah, if it's my wedding and you're talking about your engagement,
have annoy.
Speaker 5 (14:04):
Annoying, right?
Speaker 8 (14:05):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (14:05):
I was listening to an interview with Lionel Richie or
a new book. Interesting guy. I didn't know much about him,
and he said that he got so famous that one
time one of his friends invited them to his wedding
and he said, I don't I don't want to come
to your wedding because it'll be all about me, and
the friend said, nope, come and he went in every
picture is Lionel Richie the kid the groom's mother, Lionel Richie,
(14:25):
the family, Lionel Richie.
Speaker 5 (14:27):
Yeah, it was Lionel Richie's wedding pretty much. She talked
about wood.
Speaker 2 (14:32):
She gives like a little backstory about how this song
came out.
Speaker 12 (14:35):
I brought this into the studio and I was like,
I want to do sort of like a I want
to like do a throwback.
Speaker 3 (14:42):
Kind of timeless sounding song.
Speaker 12 (14:43):
And I have this idea about like I got a
knock on wood and we would knock on wood and
it would be all these superstitions. And it really started
out in a very innocent place, you know. It started
out like, I don't know what happened, man.
Speaker 1 (15:02):
I we went off the rail.
Speaker 3 (15:04):
I got in there, we started vibing, and I don't know,
I don't know how we got here. I love the songs.
Speaker 2 (15:13):
I think it's a couple of drinks in that's what happened, right. Yeah,
And she loves her man. She is so in love
with him. He is not on the song open Light,
by the way. She also said that that's a rumor,
that's not true. He's not singing on any part of
the album.
Speaker 14 (15:27):
While we're still talking about the life of a showgirl,
can everyone collectively reach behind them and pull their panties
out of their butt and understand that they can just
enjoy music because.
Speaker 5 (15:41):
It's fun and flirty.
Speaker 14 (15:43):
Not everything Taylor Swift writes has to be poetry.
Speaker 1 (15:47):
Even Shakespeare had.
Speaker 14 (15:48):
Raunchy puns in his plays.
Speaker 9 (15:50):
He would have loved Taylor Swift and Sabrina Carpenter relax fun.
Speaker 3 (15:55):
In fact, I learned from Lisa dunavand Shakespeare really didn't
write well.
Speaker 2 (15:58):
That was in my book club with Jodi Pico is
that that was her book.
Speaker 5 (16:02):
By any other name.
Speaker 2 (16:03):
That Shakespeare was actually hired by women, one of them
being Amelia Bassano, to publish the plays under his name,
because back then a woman would never been a player.
Speaker 10 (16:16):
Right.
Speaker 5 (16:16):
He never wrote, He never wrote one thing.
Speaker 1 (16:19):
No, he was just like he had ghost writers.
Speaker 5 (16:21):
He was like the Milli Vanilli.
Speaker 3 (16:22):
Yes, yes, Lisa was saying to Lisa was saying that
he was describing places he'd never been.
Speaker 2 (16:28):
Right, Like, there's there's so many signs that he was
just hired.
Speaker 1 (16:33):
He's a fraud.
Speaker 5 (16:34):
He was the front man.
Speaker 1 (16:35):
Oh I should have showed up to class in school.
Speaker 3 (16:37):
Yeah, but it's true, Like it's so interesting because his
stuff is so poetic and it was women that wrote it. Yes,
it wasn't this like romantic man.
Speaker 1 (16:46):
Look I said it earlier, I'll say it again. I
think the Taylor Swift album is good. I'm not like
a huge swiftie, but I think this bang is on there.
That's just me.
Speaker 6 (16:54):
I agree with Justin. I think Taylor's new album is
a banger. I think everyone is so used to hearing
her singing poetic, scorned girl lyrics that now she's doing
something fun and happy and poppy, and people don't know
what to do with themselves. But I think it's fantastic.
(17:14):
I've been dancing around since it was released. Love the songs,
love the beats, just love it.
Speaker 2 (17:21):
Patricia Cornwell was actually on GMA right now I'm watching.
She was at My book club last night, which was amazing. Okay,
so the next celebrity that was actually in Boston last
night was Matt Damon, who we like love. He was
at the Boston Harbor Hotel for a Cooking Live benefit
to Family Reach.
Speaker 13 (17:38):
I can't imagine with the level of fear and trauma
that kind of accompanies that journey, having to worry about
all that other stuff. So the work here is incredible
and wonderful and I'm really happy to support it.
Speaker 5 (17:51):
Yes, he's amazing. His dad passed away from cancer eight
years ago.
Speaker 2 (17:55):
Ben Affleck was on the Red carpet with his ex
j Lo because they worked on a movie, The Kiss
of the Spider Woman and j Lo stars in it.
Speaker 15 (18:03):
It was obvious to me very early on Jennifer's involvement
in this that she was gonna die or be great.
Speaker 1 (18:09):
You know, she just was going to give it her all.
As she did. She worked enormously hard at this role.
Speaker 7 (18:15):
You get to see like all of her many gifts amazing.
Speaker 1 (18:20):
Speaking of the Matt Damon event, we had a talkback
earlier from a woman who worked the event. She kind
of gave us the you know, the fill in on
the event itself. She did DM me and said she
ran out of time on the talkback, but apparently she
talked to Ming Sai and Ming Sai said he wants
Billy and Lisa at the next event. Wow. Great, yep.
She also says that Juanne Chang made the most delicious
(18:44):
Oui Guey chocolate chip cookies.
Speaker 2 (18:46):
Yeah, her cookies are amazing. I love Joan changming.
Speaker 3 (18:49):
On Like last year, he's a friend of Billy Ming's bangs.
Speaker 5 (18:51):
Yeah, brings Mings bangs.
Speaker 2 (18:53):
All right, Noah con announced a new show. It's at
MGM Music Hall. It's going to be on November twenty.
If you can register, go through a lottery right now
for tickets through Sunday and then you know, if you're
lucky enough to go, you're gonna pay about one hundred
and seven dollars. And the event is on November twentieth,
and it benefits two different charities, The Busy Head Project
(19:14):
and the Red Sox Foundation will share in the proceeds
of that special concert at MGM. I want to mention
that cam Neely surprised the Dan No charo yesterday at
the Garden.
Speaker 1 (19:26):
Between twenty four and seventy seven the retired number banners.
Oh that's where thirty three is going to go this year.
Oh my god, Oh my god, oh my gosh, thank
you so much. Wow, what a honor. I'm I'm surprised.
(19:47):

Speaker 1 (20:36):

Speaker 2 (20:38):

sounds great. The Bruins actually play the Capitals tomorrow night

We gave out at seven ten and eight ten this morning.
Your next shot coming up at twelve ten to see
Ed Sharon at the TD Guard and Lisa had her
book club last night. Tricia Cornwell was the author and
(21:51):
she was just on GMA this morning, so Lisa had
her first.
Speaker 5 (21:54):
I know, it's amazing.
Speaker 1 (21:55):
Good for you. You have another book club which is.
Speaker 2 (21:57):
Flout October twenty first at Joson Mayniattes with Ellen Hildebrand.
We posted this morning and it sold out in like
ten minutes.
Speaker 1 (22:03):
Of course it did. Yeah, yeah, of course it did.
And Billy Costa not here. He's in Africa. Now. I
was trying to talk to Bill yesterday, yes last night actually,
but I mentioned earlier I updated my iPhone and now
it's screens calls. That's the new feature of the iOS.
So when people call, some kind of message pops up
and says, hey, why do you want to call? Justin
and then they have to record a message and then
(22:24):
that comes to me. So I was not able to
talk to Billy, but he sounded frustrated Billy's calling. Yeah,
he sounded a little bit annoyed there. So yeah, Billy
is in Zimbabwe, which is kind of near Botswana, and
Botswana's going down there tonight.
Speaker 16 (22:39):
Is Safari taking a frightening turn when an elephant goes
on the attack. We now have the video. The group
of tourists from the US and UK look at this,
recording the encounter as the elephant charges at their canoes
in those shallow waters in Botswana, flipping over the boats.
The guides and their riders escaping. The elephant eventually eventually
backed them off.
Speaker 1 (22:59):
Thank you David for that report. Now let's go to
the phones and Billy Costa in Africa. What's up due
to you safe?
Speaker 8 (23:06):
Well, first of all, no, we're not that close to Botswana,
but I appreciate you well.
Speaker 1 (23:11):
Producer Riley showed me the map. You're kind of like
down a little bit, but you know, nearby, and.
Speaker 8 (23:17):
We're also not cruising the rivers of Africa. Just see,
you know, I don't see. We have some tales to tell,
and I'll start with Lisa Dunnovan. Your book club is
all over Africa. It's the talk of.
Speaker 5 (23:29):
The entire really.
Speaker 1 (23:31):
Sure.
Speaker 5 (23:32):
Yeah, I was amazing it was over Africa.
Speaker 1 (23:35):
That's good to hear.
Speaker 8 (23:36):
Book Club you have another sellout.
Speaker 2 (23:38):
Yeah, and Patricia was just on GMA. It's like I
got her before she went to GMA.
Speaker 8 (23:44):
Of course she did.
Speaker 5 (23:45):
Yeah, it's amazing.
Speaker 8 (23:46):
We're not surprised by that. So anyway, since we last spoke,
so much has happened and I don't even know where
to start. Well, I'll start with five minutes after we
hung up the phone with each other, we went out
on late afternoon. So Fari and it was awesome. We
were cruising and we saw so much wildlife, everything from
giraffes to elephants, to impalla to bad boons. I means
(24:11):
just everywhere we went we saw piles of animals. It
was awesome. But then unannounced to us, we had no
idea Janal and the team surprised us and took us
right before sunset up on a hillside overlooking everything, and
they had a fire burning, and there was a full bar,
and there were snacks and there was a supermoon. I'm
(24:33):
telling you, it was so magical looking down at everything,
having a couple of cocktails and enjoying the sunset. So
that was immediately after I hung up from you guys.
Now this morning we left on a journey and you
might be happy to know we have arrived at the Hide,
which is Mina Michelle's happy place. We came here exactly
(24:54):
a year ago. And by the way, big news here
at the Hide. It's been newly renovated, as if it
et it. Okay, the rooms are rather the tents are
double the size, and there's so much going on. But
on the way you need to know how broken down
the roads are. Okay, Bumpy is not significant enough a
word to describe these roads. They're barely passable at times.
(25:17):
So at one point we're in the van and this
was not a bumpy.
Speaker 3 (25:23):
Part of the road.
Speaker 8 (25:24):
We were going in a pretty good clip, and all
of a sudden, the back of the van opened. It
was kind of a highway. Back of the van opened
and all of the luggage went flying out onto the highway. Lisa,
all I could think about was you, what if it
happened to you when you're Louis baton bags and you're
(25:44):
good suitcase.
Speaker 1 (25:47):
I don't have highway.
Speaker 5 (25:49):
That's crazy.
Speaker 8 (25:52):
Before I come home. Of course, we pulled over and
you know they had to gather and pick up. Luckily
none of the bags of the computers or cell phones
or cameras, but it was all the big suitcases just
flopping around on the highway. But I want to share
another moment now. The place we were at the last
two days. Michelle and I exactly a year ago were
(26:14):
staying there. It's beautiful and it's part of Wildest Life,
and it's a beautiful house. It's almost like an African mansion. Okay,
And at one point Michelle and I were talking and
we remembered, Oh, this is so good. We get to
see the house of bunnies. Like they have this little
house that like all these bunnies roam around and they're
(26:34):
so cute. Right, Oh, can we see the bunnies? And
they said, oh, no, you can't. And I said, well,
why not last time we hung out with the bunnies
and they said, the python got them. Oh no, the
python not all of them. They got two or three
of them, and then they moved the whole litter. But
here's the best part of this story. Now, the bunny
(26:56):
house is right outside the entrance to the house, the
main entrance. Okay, Now all of the doors on the
house we stay in are wide open all night long,
and the bunny house is maybe five feet away. Who
do you think the next target was going to be
for the python? You exactly, because ours is the only
(27:20):
bedroom downstairs. So when you enter the house, we are
immediately on the right, and it would have been so
easy for the python. So there's that story.
Speaker 1 (27:28):
Wait, the bunny house is like a trap if you
think about it. It's that bait for the animals. They
come to get the bunnies and then they get bill.
Speaker 8 (27:36):
The bunny house is a trap, says Justin. I don't know.
Dana is sitting here with me. He's the team leader.
Am I making any of this up? Donna billion stoneA
like it is? This is what goes on over here
in Zimbabwe. I'm going to ask you to know where
we were versus where we are now, what's the big difference?
Speaker 1 (27:55):
We are many others.
Speaker 8 (27:56):
Way we moved from Victoria Falls to Hangi National which
is Zimbabwe's largest national park.
Speaker 1 (28:02):
Is about it's not just Connecticut. Actually, there's a.
Speaker 8 (28:06):
Huge area and we're at the Highs so Far Camp
and there's you know, there's many animals here, more than
forty five thousand elephants, lions, zebras, trass, everything you can imagine. Yeah,
if you can imagine where we're broadcasting, Literally right outside
of our back door is a giant watering hole, guys,
and this is where all of the animals come to
take a bath, to cool down, to get a drink,
(28:28):
And it's just an amazing thing to witness. And we'll
be sending videos all along. In fact, Michelle just posted
a new one from yesterday's action.
Speaker 1 (28:35):
I saw you with the school kids.
Speaker 8 (28:38):
Yeah, we went and visited one of the local schools.
We went into a community to see how they live,
which is extraordinary. I'm telling you everybody has to try
to get to Africa at some point in their life.
But justin I have one thing to tell you. Yes, sir,
I'm a vegan for a week now.
Speaker 1 (28:57):
Yeah, it's a vegan trip. I did know that.
Speaker 8 (29:00):
Yes, Okay, so I've been a vegan for almost a week, right,
and my veins have never popped out in my arms.
And you're gonna be so jealous. I'm going to have
a bicep vein, which is your dream.
Speaker 1 (29:15):
Before I said I have one. Now this is good.
Speaker 8 (29:19):
I'm even going to have a vein shooting out on
my forehead by the time I'm done here.
Speaker 1 (29:23):
Oh God, I can't wait for you to come back.
Speaker 8 (29:27):
But it's an awesome trip again, and within the hour,
this watering hole is going to be loaded with animal
life of all time wildlife, and we'll keep sending the videos,
just keep going to the Instagram.
Speaker 1 (29:38):
Yeah, Billy Costa, the one you just posted is really good.
Michelle's doing a really great job with all the videos,
not just the animals, but the one with you with
the school children's really really cool. You were talking to them.
I pulled some of the audio here.
Speaker 8 (29:51):
Can you make some noise?
Speaker 1 (29:52):
Let them know you their kids?
Speaker 11 (30:00):
Oh way, good morning guys.
Speaker 15 (30:01):
This is podcast Penelope listening from to Brosnick Croatia. I
have been in Croatia for about a week now, listening
to guys on and off.
Speaker 7 (30:11):
On the road.
Speaker 3 (30:11):
It's been a wonderful trip.
Speaker 15 (30:13):
Started off in Zadar and we have worked our way
down here to too.
Speaker 3 (30:17):
Grosnick.
Speaker 7 (30:18):
Such a great trip.
Speaker 3 (30:20):
I can't wait to get home though him. Listen to
you guys live.
Speaker 1 (30:23):
Have a great day.
Speaker 3 (30:24):
Oh that's Croatia. That's great.
Speaker 1 (30:26):
Prettyeah's that's really cool. Yeah, that's like a thing, Mikey
that people do. Then they travel around the world. They
listen to the show and they leave talkbacks just to
make us jealous. You guys are worldwide. Well you are too.
On the v bros. Yeah, I want to do apps everywhere. Yeah,
so if anybody's listening now, if you want to leave
a talkback for Mikey and Gianna, you could do that
as well.
Speaker 3 (30:44):
And he's actually syndicated. Where're just on the app.
Speaker 1 (30:47):
Actually, Mikey is actually syndicated across the country. How many
different radio stations Mike, I think it's like ninety four
right now. Oh, wow, ninety four.
Speaker 7 (30:56):
Well, I think during the week it's like sixty something,
and then on the weekend it's another thing.
Speaker 3 (31:00):
I just want to be got in four. Okay, he
is ninety four.
Speaker 1 (31:03):
Wow, Yeah, that's really cool. I thought he was gonna
say nine. It's definitely on a lot of the radio.
Speaker 11 (31:09):
Good morning. I don't know if you guys have talked
about this yet, but we need to talk about the
show Monster. I'm five episodes in. I think there's eight,
and I don't know. It's just one of the craziest,
spookiest shows I've ever seen.
Speaker 1 (31:22):
Yeah, a lot of talk about this show on Netflix.
The new season of Monster about ed Geen the serial Killer.
Anybody watching, No.
Speaker 5 (31:29):
I haven't been.
Speaker 1 (31:30):
It is a tough watch, so it's real. It's based
on ed Gean, who did you guys know I had
a serial killer fascination when I was younger.
Speaker 3 (31:37):
No, the checks out, Yeah, because.
Speaker 1 (31:41):
Dean was a famous serial killer. That all the biggest
like movie villains like you know, bad guys were based
on Buffalo Bill from Silence of the Lambs, Leather Faced
Walk that based on this guy. He did horrific things
in the nineteen fifties. So this profiles his life. But
some of the stuff in the show is very hard
to watch. Wait, but is it like a dog like actually,
it's likez brother. Oh yeah, so it's a bio. It's
(32:04):
the it's Themmy Murphy.
Speaker 3 (32:05):
Yeah, okay, show, got it, got it.
Speaker 1 (32:07):
It's popping on Netflix right now. But a lot of
people haven't had a hard time watching it. Some of
the scenes are really really rough.
Speaker 3 (32:13):
Oh I had to start. I just finished Wayward last
night with Tony Kalett. I know, I wasn't here for
the Tony Collette saga. That it was good. It was
an easy watch. It wasn't too complicated to fall like,
you know, like Severns. I like Severns. We all watched it.
That was like a chore. You had to pay attention,
you had to really focus.
Speaker 8 (32:30):
This.
Speaker 3 (32:31):
You can watch and if you turn your head for
a second you still kind of get the gist of it. Yeah,
it's an easy watch. Or like thirty you know, thirty
five to forty minute episodes. Eight episodes. It was good.
Speaker 1 (32:40):
Yeah, Well, Lisa had this weird fascination with Tony Kalette.
Remember that.
Speaker 5 (32:44):
Well, I think she's good in all her projects.
Speaker 3 (32:47):
She's a good actress.
Speaker 1 (32:48):
Yeah it what's the name of that show?
Speaker 3 (32:49):
Wayward?
Speaker 1 (32:50):
Wayward?
Speaker 9 (32:50):
Okay, yeah, hey guys, we had a great time last
night at the book club.
Speaker 1 (32:54):
She was really fascinating.
Speaker 9 (32:56):
Anyway, Any idea who owned those two buses that were
in front of the hotel from Tennessee?
Speaker 1 (33:03):
Just curious.
Speaker 2 (33:04):
Yeah, I was wondering the same thing. They were parked
outside the Revere all day tour us two of them.
Speaker 3 (33:08):
Mm, well, I know, well yesterday, I know we're on
a chicken fry was a House of Blues, but I don't.
Speaker 1 (33:14):
Know who else We're on a chicken fry doesn't have
to I'm trying.
Speaker 3 (33:16):
To think of who was around Giant, who was around here?
So it would be at the Reveal Hotel.
Speaker 1 (33:21):
We know who it was. Answer, it was Lisa. No,
well it could have been one, but the other one
ton kids one away.
Speaker 5 (33:32):
It's the morning wrap up on Billy and Lisa in
the Morning.
Speaker 1 (33:36):
So Lisa brought this to us this morning about this
online debate about kids at restaurants screaming and you know
how people feel about that, and it kind of exploded
on our show, especially over the phones. And on the talkbacks.
Speaker 4 (33:49):
So I'm a nanny to six months old and a
three year old, and I take them out at least
once a week, maybe twice, just for lunch. It could
be a coffee cafe or a little strong and it's
just helping them get used to how to act in
a restaurant.
Speaker 6 (34:05):
I think maybe once I.
Speaker 4 (34:06):
Had to pull out my phone and let them look
at videos.
Speaker 1 (34:09):
But most times, the coloring books.
Speaker 4 (34:11):
And like the Color Wonder and then the magnet sets
that we have packed in the bag really work well.
Speaker 1 (34:17):
And a lot of these restaurants that you go to
that our kid finally have you know, crayons and color folks,
which are good.
Speaker 5 (34:22):
Oh yeah, they always do.
Speaker 1 (34:23):
I remember playing tiktak toe my grandma at all the restaurants.
Speaker 5 (34:25):
Oh my god, we used to do that all the time.
Speaker 1 (34:26):
That's what me and my grandmo would play. But I
think it is good.
Speaker 7 (34:29):
It's important to get the kids out and about and
get them because how could they learn how to act
in a restaurant if they don't go to a restaurant.
Speaker 3 (34:35):
Exactly.
Speaker 1 (34:35):
Yeah, it's practice. It's practice for sure.
Speaker 10 (34:37):
A good point as a mom of eight kids. No,
I haven't taken all together.
Speaker 1 (34:42):
Some are grown eight kids.
Speaker 10 (34:44):
Okay, I'm a little but I've always removed my child
from the area, or my partner has, somebody i'm with
has like you don't do that to others, Like they're
there to enjoy their meal.
Speaker 5 (34:58):
So you get up, you walk out. The child will
eventually learn it's true.
Speaker 7 (35:02):
You fut it hard just to get a reservation. Oh
it is a birthday party. No, it's just me my
husband make kids the original octo model.
Speaker 15 (35:12):
I totally get the argument that parents also want to
be able to go out and have a nice meal.
But if I'm a paying customer, I do not want
to listen to a screaming child, not unless I can scream.
Also because a chance start's going to make me want
to start screaming before long.
Speaker 1 (35:29):
Yeah it's tough.
Speaker 5 (35:30):
Yeah, it's so true.
Speaker 1 (35:30):
It's tough. Balancing is not easy. It's a tough balance.
Speaker 7 (35:33):
But I do feel like there's a restaurant where it's
certain restaurants where it's okay to do it, and some
that you know that it's not okay do but you
have to bring your kids out about I feel.
Speaker 5 (35:40):
Like you did to teach him.
Speaker 1 (35:41):
Yep, another hot one is Texas Roadhouse. Love it kids,
because it's so loud. It's a good one. You're saying, right, yeah,
well we were saying it was good. Nine is good too,
so yeah, good, good conversation. We also checked in with
Uncle Bill. That's Bill Costa. He's in Africa on Safari
on the road, which seems to be a little bumpy.
Speaker 8 (36:00):
We were going at a pretty good clip and all
of a sudden, the back of the van opened. It
was kind of a highway. Back of the van opened
and all of the luggage went flying out onto the highway. No, Lisa,
all I could think about was you what if it
happened to you when you're Louis Baton dag and your
(36:21):
van suitcase?
Speaker 1 (36:22):
Crazy. Well, I don't have I don't have a highway.
Speaker 5 (36:24):
Yeah, I don't have any of that.
Speaker 1 (36:26):
Not yet.
Speaker 7 (36:26):
Maybe one day bringing you back it's stolen from the
back of that truck.
Speaker 1 (36:31):
Yeah you know what that could be it? Yeah. Bill
gonna check in every morning at nine ten with Adventures
in Africa. So we appreciate, we love you, and the
Mighty McCabe is coming up next, so stand by
