It's good to be back by the boom though right.

Speaker 1 (00:47):
I know. We appreciate you guys having us on.

Speaker 3 (00:49):
So just a couple of beast Boston guys.

Speaker 4 (00:51):
How did you land in the dunking spot with Matt
Damon and Casey Affleck.

Speaker 1 (00:55):
You want me to tell the story? Long story? Short
Apple TV reached out to us.

Speaker 5 (01:01):
We do a lot of brand work in the city
on social media, so they wanted some help promote in
the movie The Instigators in Boston, so we kind of
led the promotion. We helped host the movie premiere in
front of like two hundred plus people. So we had
to do like a five to ten minute comedy set
in front of two hundred plus people and bring out Matt,
Damon and Casey.

Speaker 1 (01:20):
So we got to meet Matt and Casey at the
movie premiere.

Speaker 5 (01:22):
Great guys, very uh, you know, it's it's crazy watching
them growing up and then meeting them.

Speaker 1 (01:27):
You know, they're kind they're kind of the same guys, honestly.

Speaker 5 (01:30):
Yeah, but you know, we did our comedy set and
they were like, hey, why don't we have these guys
jump in a commercial we're doing on the Sunday.

Speaker 1 (01:37):
It was it was on a Friday. They were shooting
on a Sunday, and then one thing led.

Speaker 5 (01:41):
To another and Doug Lyman, the director, wanted us in,
and Apple Team hit us up and was like, hey,
we have a cool opportunity if you guys want to
jump in, And that's basically how it happened.

Speaker 3 (01:49):
Yeah, so let me get this straight. It was what
two years ago. The first time you guys came in studio.

Speaker 1 (01:54):
I believe.

Speaker 5 (01:54):
So, yeah, that was about two years ago now, and
you know we've been doing this. I mean I've been
doing this three years full time now going on. So
Prejudo Poppy.

Speaker 1 (02:02):
How long have you been doing for two years?

Speaker 2 (02:04):
Man?

Speaker 1 (02:04):
Yeah? With the post Office? Yeah almost two years ago.

Speaker 3 (02:07):
Now were you born Prejudo Poppy or.

Speaker 1 (02:11):
I think you're gonna legally change.

Speaker 4 (02:13):
The name of it.

Speaker 2 (02:13):
I think I'm gonna legally change it.

Speaker 3 (02:16):
First things first, how do people find you on social?

Speaker 5 (02:19):
You can find me at Tommy Garino, he's Projudo Poppy,
the Perjudo Poppy. And then we have a media company
together called It's Content, so you can find that on YouTube, Instagram,
TikTok anywhere. But yeah, that's where we post all of.

Speaker 3 (02:32):
Stuff and you guys have a huge following. How did
you get that? How do you come up with the
ideas you put on social?

Speaker 5 (02:38):
I mean, honestly growing up in East Boston with my
crazy Italian family, that's you know. I'm still live in
the Triple Decker in East Boston. My grandmother bought it
in nineteen sixty five for thirty thousand dollars and now
it's worth a lot more than that, but my family
still comes there.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
All the time.

Speaker 5 (02:52):
So that's where I got my initial inspiration. So yeah,
that's where we get a lot of it. And then
like movies and stuff growing up, like you know, I
love comedy movie, the Boston movies, Adam sand the movies. Sure,
just that's really where I take most of the inspo.

Speaker 4 (03:04):
I don't know if you have a well, at what
point did you guys get together?

Speaker 1 (03:08):
Summer camp? Oh yeah, I have a.

Speaker 3 (03:11):
Couple of guys from East Boston went to summer.

Speaker 5 (03:13):
Camp police police Academy. Yeah, yeah, we we basically we
were like five years old. We met in the summer
camp our parents put us in. The police would put
on like a summer camp for the kids in East Boston.
So that's where we met. And then we just kind
of grew up playing Little League together at street hockey,
and then we went to high school together and graduated
together from East Boston High Uh, and then one thing

(03:36):
led to another. We just became, you know, good friends,
and the social media stuff brought us closer and now
we're you know, two guys from Easte trying to make
it big.

Speaker 4 (03:44):
But you also ended up in the Patriots documentary.

Speaker 1 (03:47):
Yeah two years ago.

Speaker 5 (03:56):
Well, yeah, like a year and a half because they
recorded that interview with us about it year before the documentary,
and yeah, I know.

Speaker 1 (04:02):
It's just basically the same thing.

Speaker 5 (04:03):
Someone reached out from us from the documentary team and
they were like, hey, we want to interview local Patriots
fans and you guys popped up on our radar.

Speaker 1 (04:10):
Do you want to go in?

Speaker 5 (04:10):
And that was a twenty five minute interview and they
gave me three seconds. But I was after rober Kraft,
So yeah, I.

Speaker 2 (04:17):
Actually got cut.

Speaker 3 (04:20):
Wait a minute, Poppy, you were cut from it.

Speaker 1 (04:22):
I was cut, Yeah, I did.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
We both did about a half an hour each. And
but you were in like the first what ten minutes?

Speaker 5 (04:28):
I was in the first episode like the first ten minutes,
so everyone saw my face.

Speaker 3 (04:31):
It was a really good series.

Speaker 1 (04:33):
Yeah, it was good.

Speaker 5 (04:34):
I mean a lot of people kind of gave a
negative feedback because it was like a well hit piece
on Belichick, which I do get, but uh, I think
it was well put together though.

Speaker 4 (04:41):
You know, but now you're really really close friends with
Mark Wahlberg. I mean you're always on his private jet.

Speaker 3 (04:52):
I almost said, Bill, you've never been on the private jet.

Speaker 4 (04:56):
Never run on the private Although I have a cool
Mark Wahlberg story. Jenny Johnson and I are coming out
with the cookbook in the month or so, and he
agreed to do the forward for the book, so that
he's such a good guy. But how did your relationship
with Mark Wahlberg start?

Speaker 1 (05:09):
I mean, to keep it short.

Speaker 5 (05:11):
We we went to his uh Fletcher's little tasting at
mox SI's and Seaport for almost a year ago now,
and yeah, I mean we got there. We were getting
a shot at the bar and Mak was coming up
to give a little speech in front of everyone, and
he kind of gave me a double take, and he
walked over and he was like, Hey, I'm a big
fan of you guys.

Speaker 1 (05:29):
I love what you do.

Speaker 5 (05:30):
So being from East Boston watching his movies growing up,
I mean, that's a dream coming like I could have
just you know, if everything ended right.

Speaker 1 (05:36):
There, my go that's all I needed. Shoot him.

Speaker 5 (05:39):
Then we kind of just kept in touch with him
and saw him a couple of the times he was
shooting a movie and he was like, Hey, I'm coming
back in May if you guys want to come out
to my restaurant opening.

Speaker 1 (05:49):
You guys are more than welcome. So we said we're
jumping on this.

Speaker 3 (05:51):
He flew you to Los Angeles.

Speaker 5 (05:53):
No, no, we paid, We paid for the take for
that ticket. But he did say, you know, come to
LA and then we'll fly back to Vegas.

Speaker 1 (06:01):
So you know, we're like whatever that means.

Speaker 5 (06:03):
I don't know if he's we we're gonna get to
his jet. He's gonna put us an economy. Yeah, it
was just I mean we just we went and mock.
You know, we spent good time with him. He got
to know us, give us some advice, and he was like, hey,
we're gonna go to Vegas. Let's go on my plane.
And he brought us to his plane. We went on
the Wallburger jet and then a few weeks later we
did it again. So we did it twice in June.

Speaker 2 (06:23):
Wow to the West Coast two months ago. Now I've
been three times and plane. We always talk about it too,
like when we started first making videos, because we always
we like to speak things into existence, and like, I
wonder who who we're gonna be with on our first
private jet.

Speaker 3 (06:39):
I gotta know, does he have a gym on the jet?

Speaker 1 (06:43):
He might have a couple of dumbells in the back.
I don't know.

Speaker 5 (06:45):
Yeah, but now he got the he got the Wallburgers
on the jet though, I know that.

Speaker 4 (06:49):
Oh yeah, nothing wrong with that with that, by the way, Uh, Tommy,
how's the diet going? You were on a mission last
time we spoke to lose one hundred pound.

Speaker 5 (06:57):
To Tommy G's hundred pound weight lost. Jurney, go check
get on my social media.

Speaker 1 (07:01):
It's good.

Speaker 5 (07:01):
Sorry I didn't I didn't know it had a hashtag
hashtag grime with Tommy G.

Speaker 1 (07:07):
I know it's good. I mean, I'm down forty.

Speaker 2 (07:09):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (07:09):
It's been a it's been a lot.

Speaker 5 (07:10):
It's been a lot of work, especially the summer with
a lot of moving around and travel, and it's been
tough to kind of stay strict on it.

Speaker 1 (07:16):
But you know, we're ramping it back up now.

Speaker 5 (07:18):
We're in the gym with our trainer and we're in
there twice a week getting the workings there.

Speaker 1 (07:23):
You go, make sure you follow along the journey.

Speaker 4 (07:25):
Now, Poppy, is it okay if I call you poppy
or yeah, just don't look at me in the eyes.
You've done a lot of cooking segments on social do
you have like favorite dishes, things you're really good at.

Speaker 2 (07:38):
I feel like Italian, you know, just growing up seeing
my mom cook Italian.

Speaker 1 (07:42):
I like that's the go to.

Speaker 2 (07:43):
I don't know, I like doing a little Asian stuff, getting.

Speaker 4 (07:45):
Nuts Asian really well, isn't there an Asian restaurant right
next to your workspace?

Speaker 1 (07:50):
Yeah? Cat they Pacific?

Speaker 3 (07:51):
Yeah yeah, never been legendary.

Speaker 1 (07:54):
I got to shut out work bar and Quincy. You know,
they take good care of us.

Speaker 5 (07:57):
We got a office space there, so that's where we
come up with a lot of the deli Boston Deli ideas,
and people should definitely check that out too.

Speaker 4 (08:03):
Are you still doing the deli thing? You would actually
go to somebody's deli and you guys would do segments.

Speaker 5 (08:09):
Yeah, new Deal, Fruit and Revere. We still that's kind
of what we're known for. I would say, now, right
the Boston Deli guys, if you search that up on
any platform, you will find us. But it's been it's
been awesome working with them. I mean we go in there,
we shoot our little skits, comedy skits, and it just
turned into having like celebs come in, you know, like
we had the Wrap Amillies come in. We have Wahlberg

(08:30):
that wants to come in and you know, maybe we'll
get all the guys in there one day.

Speaker 2 (08:33):
I think the best part is though we've never worked
in a deli ever.

Speaker 5 (08:38):
I was a dishwasher once at Belle Isle and one
bell Isle. Yeah, I lasted two months.

Speaker 1 (08:43):
Dude. I was like, Yeah, this is not Tommy.

Speaker 4 (08:46):
How is it possible you don't have a Prejude those
sponsor or something.

Speaker 1 (08:51):
I don't know, boss, I don't know about I don't
know about the bullshead man.

Speaker 2 (08:55):
They heard about the.

Speaker 3 (08:58):
Head not right now. That's not going well with boards.

Speaker 5 (09:03):
There's some stuff going on right now in the news,
but I'm not gonna I'm not gonna talk about it.

Speaker 3 (09:06):
Last time you were in, Tommy, he told the story about.

Speaker 4 (09:08):
When you informed your dad that you're gonna be dropping
out of college to do to be a content creator
full time. I gotta know what was his immediate reaction,
Like did he say you couldn't let me know before
I paid the tuition?

Speaker 1 (09:22):
You know?

Speaker 5 (09:22):
I think it's just I don't I don't think my
father really can grasp what I do still, or my mother,
So I think they were more just confused on what
I was gonna do.

Speaker 1 (09:32):
But my father was My mother's always been the hands
on one. You know.

Speaker 5 (09:35):
She was the one that gave me a little slap
if I was messing up in school. So, uh, my father,
I don't think. I don't want to say he didn't care,
but it was more of like he he wanted to
see me do what made me happy. But at the
end of the day, he's an Italian father, so it's like,
you know, you're either gonna work.

Speaker 1 (09:48):
Or go to school.

Speaker 3 (09:48):
And when you're gonna go to work, exactly get a
right job.

Speaker 1 (09:51):
When he started seeing some cash rolling, he's like, all right,
I'll you know.

Speaker 3 (09:54):
And now you're in a Dunkin commercial.

Speaker 5 (09:55):
That's it with Wahlberg on the jet and with Matt
damon movie. Hopefully a move be coming soon. You know,
we're gonna we'll see Wow.

Speaker 3 (10:03):
Yeah, none of us have been on marks jet.

Speaker 1 (10:05):
I mean maybe we could talk to a couple of people, you.

Speaker 3 (10:07):
Guys, you know, I mean not for not I mean just.

Speaker 1 (10:12):
On the jet.

Speaker 3 (10:12):
We're flying at l A. I'm just saying, uh, you're
selling merch. Where can people get your merch?

Speaker 1 (10:17):
Oh?

Speaker 5 (10:17):
Yeah, So we we have these pretty popular Boston hats.
We sell online.

Speaker 1 (10:21):
What is it. It's content merch dot com. You can
get that.

Speaker 5 (10:24):
I mean you can go to our social media and
then if you click the link in our bio, you'll
see you can click on that and you can find it.
But yeah, we we've just we've got this Boston style
mercho and it's it's hit really well with the local people.
But honestly everywhere, like we get orders from across the country,
other countries. Everyone has roots here, which is crazy. So yeah,
we've been successful that.

Speaker 2 (10:43):
The cool thing is is like it's New England. It's
not just you know, I mean, it's what seven states.

Speaker 5 (10:47):
Yeah, but like we're also dropping new deli merch too,
so we're dropping like Deli styled what, yeah, you did get.

Speaker 3 (10:54):
A deli sponsor.

Speaker 5 (10:55):
Yeah, I mean no, no, no, no, no, no, I
mean predute kind of. He he takes the reins on
the merch, so he got a good creative eye for it.
I'm not that great with logos and all that stuff,
so he's kind of been good with it.

Speaker 3 (11:07):
So yeah, I'm thinking maybe your own salami or something.

Speaker 1 (11:10):
Yeah, we need eat chicken and rice. That's yeah, that's
my problem.

Speaker 3 (11:18):
Tommy Garrino and pre Poppy and studios with this. Always
good to see you guys.

Speaker 1 (11:22):
Yeah no, thank you for having us on and uh
love listening to you guys.

Speaker 3 (11:26):
