Speaker 1 (00:00):
A Lisa, you're sitting on a story right now that

(00:02):
we need to talk about.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
Well, it's back to school time, right and there's a
new term for back to school. It's called Venmo mom.
Because there's a mom in Tennessee who's going viral because
she says she doesn't want to volunteer at her kid's
school at all. She'd rather just venmo the teacher money.

Speaker 3 (00:17):
I don't know about anyone else out there, but meet
the teacher is super stressful. I do not want to
be involved at all. I will make sure my kids
do their homework get to school all the time, but
I don't want to be on PTO PTA, room mom,
team mom. I don't want to do any of them.
And I start getting real stressed when they start asking
for volunteers. I know they're judging me because I'm not
raising my hand, but I don't want to come in.

(00:38):
I don't want to set up. If the room mom
needs money, fine, I'll Vemo money right over. But I
successfully avoid it all of that. Today. I even told
one of the coaches that I am a Venmo mom.

Speaker 4 (00:50):
Wow, I.

Speaker 3 (00:52):
With it.

Speaker 2 (00:53):
You know what, There is something to it because you
do get asked to volunteer. I mean, we've all done it,
and I've done it. I enjoy it, but sometimes it
becomes too much for you. So I kind of like
that maybe she's offering, you know, a different option though, Well,
to be fair, you.

Speaker 5 (01:07):
Need both moms really because you sometimes need finances and
sometimes you need a body, right, So if you can
have both moms in the same school, that's.

Speaker 6 (01:16):
Great, good idea.

Speaker 7 (01:17):
Yeah, I think it could be stressful.

Speaker 4 (01:19):
I mean, it's it's a great thing to get involved in,
but you know, it could be very busy.

Speaker 2 (01:24):
She's and she's right about the pressure and and and
sometimes you get you're being judged if you are not
raising your hand to volunteer.

Speaker 6 (01:31):
Can I ask a question.

Speaker 5 (01:32):
I'm not a parent, but I've had parents, have been
a child to them, and I've seen throughout the years,
I feel like PTO PGA can be a little like
high school, ye, or like a little like it can
be absolutely yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
And think about this, right at least because you are
a parent, and I'm a parent, Justin's a parent. But
thinking back, every single time that you got contacted by
phone or whatever, asking you if you can do this
or give to that, or spend time with this or
work this.

Speaker 6 (02:02):
It was annoying.

Speaker 1 (02:03):
The first thing you'd say when you hang up the phone,
oh my god, you won't believe what they want us
to do now. So to me, it makes sense you
just spend most some money.

Speaker 2 (02:11):
But I think to Winny's point, I think there's room
for both. I think that if you want to volunteer
and you have the time, there are a lot of
people out there that love it, they want to be involved.
So that's great. But you know, if you're working full time,
you don't don't feel pressured to feel like you have
to be there if you really can't.

Speaker 1 (02:27):
And understand this, if you decide to be a venmo parent,
you will be judged shame.

Speaker 6 (02:35):
Oh yeah, you have.

Speaker 5 (02:37):
The means right, and you want to be a venom parent,
Maybe give a little extra because you know, if you're
not giving your time, you know what I mean, give
forty instead of thirty or whatever.

Speaker 2 (02:47):
I don't know, I will say I did. I did
carve out some time when the kids were younger. I
was like the classroom mom a couple of times, and
I volunteered at the library. It was great, I mean
it was it was a lot, But I'm at happy
that I did do it and I was involved at
that stage.

Speaker 6 (03:04):
Yeah, younger, justin are you getting asked a lot?

Speaker 7 (03:07):
And now already I think my wife.

Speaker 4 (03:10):
My wife's involved, Okay, different things, but the Venmo thing
not just in schools.

Speaker 7 (03:15):
I do that for everything.

Speaker 5 (03:16):
Oh yeah, trust me, trust me. Every Christmas?

Speaker 6 (03:19):
What are we getting? Bill and Leice? What are we doing?

Speaker 5 (03:22):
I'm like, just just bemo me. I go and do
all the shopping. I'm like his work wife. I do everything.

Speaker 7 (03:27):
He just deemos me speaking.

Speaker 2 (03:28):
Of that, right, and you know what, I think it worked?

Speaker 6 (03:30):
Yeah?

Speaker 7 (03:32):
Happy?

Speaker 2 (03:33):
Of course.

Speaker 1 (03:33):
All I know is a couple of years ago Whennie
bought me for Christmas a two dollars fifty cent vacuum.
That from me, but you venmoed her and she monshed
that at that on. And I'm telling you it's the
best thing ever. This thing works better. I've got all
the high end vacuums, none of the more.

Speaker 7 (03:53):
That it was his idea.

Speaker 6 (03:55):
Just push it up and down the floor, picks up everything.

Speaker 5 (03:57):
It's a Harvard sweeper. It's from job what fifteen.

Speaker 4 (04:01):
Unbelievable even even and I'll get I'll get some slack
for this, but even birthdays don't get cards.

Speaker 7 (04:07):
I just Venmo. I've never gotten a card once. I
just save your money.

Speaker 6 (04:11):
I'm not a card person.

Speaker 5 (04:13):
Take then either you would have spent on the card
and put to my.

Speaker 1 (04:16):
Venmo and I don't care who you are on the
receiving end. All you really want is money, right, so
that you can get what you want versus what they
think you want.

Speaker 4 (04:28):
Okay, Can I ask you guys a question me Lisa,
because that's who I care about.

Speaker 7 (04:33):
Okay, my ten year wedding anniversary when today, happy niversary?
Thank you? So can I just Venmo? Absolutely?

Speaker 5 (04:42):
God?

Speaker 7 (04:43):
What she really wants, actually get it? I should get
a card?

Speaker 2 (04:46):
Okay, Okay, here's what you do. I think you should. Yeah,
take a nice like blank piece of you know, card
stock whatever and write her something.

Speaker 7 (04:55):
Okay, yes, and then Venmo go to.

Speaker 6 (04:58):
The bacon grab cash. Money always feels good in your hands.

Speaker 4 (05:01):
I wanted to use this cash anymore, It's all I don't.
I haven't touched cash in the long.

Speaker 2 (05:05):
What about like her favorite spa or something like get
her a big gift card to that?

Speaker 7 (05:10):
Okay, this is a whole.

Speaker 5 (05:11):
Other conversation that Justin wants to Venmo's wife for darreon.

Speaker 7 (05:14):
It goes with this topic.

Speaker 1 (05:15):
The note the letter is written the absolute altim. I'm
a poet and that doesn't mean you go get one
of those holiday cards with somebody in a basement.

Speaker 7 (05:27):
Made your own. Okay, So yeah, no, all right, so
I got it, I got it.

Speaker 6 (05:32):
Thank you, Venmo baby. I I want to be a
Venmo mom.

Speaker 4 (05:39):
Well, there's people on both sides of this argument. I
mean this, this video has like millions of years.

Speaker 7 (05:44):
There's room for both.

Speaker 6 (05:45):
When all you have to do is show me how
to do ven because yeah,
