In this episode, we're talking about repeat vacationers. Justin and his wife are planning their next trip, and he's set on going back to Aruba, a place he's been to ten times. They're joined by Billy and Lisa, who share their own experiences with repeat vacations, from visiting the same beach in Maine to Disney World. They discuss the comfort and familiarity that comes with revisiting favorite destinations, and the benefits of taking the same vacation spot year after year. It's a conversation about the joys of predictability and the importance of taking time for ourselves.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
They surveyed more than two thousand Americans, and one and
three said they do repeat traveling because they want to
feel like they are familiar.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
With the place.

Speaker 1 (00:07):
They're comfortable, they like the sceniory scenery, they even like
the food scene.

Speaker 3 (00:11):
And it's so crazy. The story came out today because
literally yesterday my wife and I were arguing or bickering
about where to go because I want to go back
to Aruba. I loved it, went once, loved it, and
she's like, no, we look at other options. Yeah, yeah,
where does she want to go? Punta Khana or somewhere
has like an all inclusive.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
Yeah, you know, they want like a sure thing.

Speaker 4 (00:32):
I will say, your kids their ages right now, they
are perfect for an all.

Speaker 3 (00:36):
Inclusive I agree. I agree. They eat so they eat
so much food, you know what I mean. But yeah,
I mean obviously all the Aruba obsessive people are chiming in,
oh yeah, oh yeah, they love Aruba.

Speaker 5 (00:49):
Justin, I feel you. I've been to a Ruba ten times.

Speaker 2 (00:54):
This January will be our eleventh time.

Speaker 3 (00:57):
Yeah, that's eleven times, seven times.

Speaker 1 (01:00):
Justin you are singing my tune Calm Up and Too
a Ruba seven times?

Speaker 6 (01:04):
Going again?

Speaker 7 (01:04):
Next year.

Speaker 8 (01:05):
Nothing better than guaranteed weather.

Speaker 2 (01:08):
It's so true.

Speaker 1 (01:09):
That's like the one thing if you have a week off,
you don't want to be sitting in the room because
it's four days of rain.

Speaker 3 (01:13):
Yeah right. We went to Saint Lucia for my honeymoon
and it was good, but it was very.

Speaker 2 (01:19):
It's tropical there, yeah, very tropical.

Speaker 4 (01:21):
You know my childhood buddy Duchie, he comes in all
the time and brings a pizza.

Speaker 6 (01:26):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (01:26):
He's in a Ruba guy. He and Sandro and his
wife have been to a Ruba probably twenty four They
have a time share there.

Speaker 3 (01:30):
Yeah, in Ruba.

Speaker 4 (01:32):
Oh, by the way, it's Jukie's birthday today. Happy birthday
to Dukie.

Speaker 3 (01:36):
You two guys forgot his birthday too. We got the.

Speaker 9 (01:47):
Hey justin you definitely want to stay with the Ruba.
We've been to Mexico, We've been to Saint John, Saint Thomas,
Saint Martin, Bahamas, all around the Caribbean. Nowhere is safer
and more enjoyable than a Ruba. We bought time shared
down there about twenty years ago.

Speaker 2 (02:04):
We go every year.

Speaker 9 (02:05):
In fact, we leave Saturday for a week. So definitely
stick with a Ruba. It is one of the safest
islands down in the Caribbean.

Speaker 3 (02:13):
God is my wife listening to this segment.

Speaker 2 (02:16):
Yeah, everyone always has a good time there.

Speaker 9 (02:18):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (02:18):
No one else is really nice too, the gaymans.

Speaker 3 (02:21):
Okay, here we go.

Speaker 7 (02:23):
Ye.

Speaker 3 (02:23):
Well, the problem with Billy is, Lisa. You know this,
Billy's budget is way above mine.

Speaker 2 (02:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:29):
He gives me recommendations sometimes and then I explore.

Speaker 8 (02:32):
And I'm like just saying, in regards to vacationing at
the same spots all the time, I can relate. I
really love going to Maine, and I usually go to
the same spot, but I've been trying to add different
locations within that area to keep it a little bit
more spontaneous and new. But I still like going to

(02:57):
the same spot. So I can completely understand that.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
And yeah, me too.

Speaker 4 (03:01):
The people want warm weather in the winter, they do.
They're not going to Maine unless you're skiing, right, If
you're a ski family, you go to Maine for winter vacation,
or New Hampshire or Vermont.

Speaker 3 (03:13):
Maine's beautiful it is.

Speaker 7 (03:15):
My family are big three peat vacationers. We have been
going to Seabrook Beach for the same two weeks since
before I was born.

Speaker 3 (03:29):
Isn't that next to Salisbury?

Speaker 2 (03:32):
Why are you guys laying.

Speaker 3 (03:35):
Beach is beautiful? But I mean, yeah, well it's Hamptonbury, Seabrook, that.

Speaker 4 (03:44):
Whole strip of coastline.

Speaker 3 (03:45):
Yeah, a running joke.

Speaker 4 (03:47):
Hampton Portsmouth, Seabrook, Salisbury. Yeah yeah, they get a lot
of arcades and stuff, and like Old Orchard Beach is
very Saltbury.

Speaker 3 (03:57):
Like Okay, let's not shame old Orchard here.

Speaker 2 (04:00):
I see. I like all those places.

Speaker 4 (04:03):
You're not going there in the winter, you want?

Speaker 2 (04:05):
Oh, I thought she was talking about in the summer.

Speaker 6 (04:09):
I think she is.

Speaker 3 (04:09):
She's a vacation for two weeks in Seabrook.

Speaker 5 (04:12):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (04:13):
The joke with Seabrook is that they just keep it
in the family. I'll just say that.

Speaker 2 (04:20):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (04:23):
What do you want me to say. Don't get mad
at me. I didn't come up with it.

Speaker 6 (04:26):
Good morning, guys.

Speaker 5 (04:27):
So this isn't really a vacation nightmare.

Speaker 8 (04:32):
But I have the problem where if I want to
go on vacation, I don't have my in laws questioning
why I'm.

Speaker 5 (04:41):
Going to a new destination instead of using my vacation
time to visit them. So I end up being a
repeat vacationer to my in laws.

Speaker 4 (04:53):
Unfortunately, you don't use vacation to visit the family.

Speaker 3 (05:01):
It's your time, Alind, another time, it's your time away
for sure.

Speaker 6 (05:04):
I know what you're gonna say. But I'm a Disney adult.
I absolutely love it there. It's clean, it's safe. I
go there once a year, if not twice, and I
see something new every time I have kids, I've been
taking them at all ages. And the food's great, the
atmosphere is great. There's so much to do. It's just

(05:26):
the best place on earth.

Speaker 3 (05:27):
It's in all the food in one area of Disney.
No oh no, they all have great food, although they
all have great food. What do you what do you?
What are you alluding to, Bill, Lisa?

Speaker 2 (05:41):
I don't know. He has a problem with Disney people.

Speaker 3 (05:45):
I just don't get it.

Speaker 1 (05:46):
They're harmless, that's their passion.

Speaker 2 (05:49):
Leave them alone.

Speaker 4 (05:50):
You know, you're flying to Orlando to go on the
teacups like.

Speaker 2 (05:58):
You know, it's always going to be there, That's.

Speaker 3 (06:01):
What it is. And we're talking about taking the same
It's a sure thing, you know, you know what's going
to be there. I think, Billy, Yeah, Meanwhile, meanwhile, here with.

Speaker 4 (06:12):
Mickey and Minnie ceremony here today.

Speaker 2 (06:16):
Oh yeah, we just had the big dedication.

Speaker 6 (06:18):
How many?

Speaker 3 (06:19):
God, what is wrong with you?

Speaker 2 (06:22):
Because there's no there's nothing more consistent.

Speaker 7 (06:26):
I know.

Speaker 4 (06:26):
But if you're adults and you don't even have kids,
what you're seeking out the breakfast with Goofy?

Speaker 3 (06:32):
Well no, no, adults do it. Breakfast wear the hats
and hi Goofy, Lisa make here we go the top.
It's Bill Costa.

Speaker 9 (06:48):
Justin.

Speaker 3 (06:50):
I will say that when we went to Disney with
our kids, we had the thought like it would be
fun to come back without the kids really, just so
we could go on all the rides and do all
the you know stuff we couldn't do.

Speaker 4 (07:01):
With So as an adult, you would want to wait
in like a two hour line to splash into a
pool of winter.

Speaker 3 (07:07):
Well we'd get the fast pass. But on the log Listen,
we spent all this money to go to Disney. Okay,
we get to the Magic Kingdom within thirty minutes. My
son wanted to go back to the hotel.

Speaker 4 (07:18):
Yeah, right, All they want is the pool at the
hotel

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today.
