Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey guys, So welcome back. You know, the Billy and

(00:01):
Lisa Show is back alive this morning from a vacation,
and I want to take you behind the scenes a
couple of minutes ago. So Daveanettie, welcome consulor thank you
so much for having me is here. Karen Reid, one
of Karen Reid's lawyers. And you know, there are some
interviews that we just get so excited about. So like
for the last ten minutes, you know, we're all coming
in and out of the studio. We're asking you questions,

(00:21):
we're having conversations and anyway, we're thrilled that you were
able to come in on the show this morning. But
the way you got here is a little unusual, and
I think we touched upon it outside the studio. Lisa
Dunovan's son Max, Am Max, how you doing? His buddy
asa funny kid, turns out is related to you in

(00:43):
some way.

Speaker 2 (00:44):
Yeah, so he's it's my wife's family. So you know his.

Speaker 3 (00:50):
Mom, whom Emily Franklin.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
I've known her for you know, twenty thirty years. You know,
the family's very close. She's the one who you know,
asked if I would come on. I can't say no
to Emily.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
You would have said no to us.

Speaker 3 (01:07):
I've been working on this for a year.

Speaker 1 (01:09):
No comment, Okay, so I don't even know where to start.
So off the air outside the studio, Lisa brought up
an important point, and that is when the verdict came down,
you cried.

Speaker 4 (01:25):
Yeah, you were.

Speaker 1 (01:27):
And my question for you, counselor, is were you crying
happy tears for the verdict or were you crying happy
tears that it was over a little of both. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:41):
I was very relieved that it was not another hung jury. Uh,
you know, given the way the evidence came in, I
was not concerned really about a conviction on one of
the homicide charges. I didn't think they had it. I
had confidence the jury would agree with us, but I

(02:01):
was concerned that maybe there was a holdout or two,
you know, because we had just been through a hung jury,
and so part of it is, you know, I'm thinking
I can't do this again trial three. I mean, you
know I would have, but boy, that would have been
a daunting prospect. But you know, the other aspect of
it is, you know, you put three and a half

(02:22):
years of your life into something. You know, you develop
relationships with you know, your client and your co counsel
and you're all going to war together. And then you know,
when when it's finally over, and you know, we got
the verdict that we had been working toward and hoping
for for so long. Yeah, you know, I just I

(02:45):
wasn't prepared for the emotions that I had. You know,
I go back and watch the clip and it's like
I start to smile and then it just kind of
comes over me and I couldn't help but tear up.
You know, I've said, I'm you know, I'm a little
embarrassed that that's the first time that a client has
had to comfort me.

Speaker 1 (03:07):
And then it was off to Barcelona. We're a talkbacker
that said that you have it justin because I don't
think he had a chance to hear it, but I said, really, it's.

Speaker 5 (03:16):
Like to hear Davy Nettie on the show. This morning
last month when we were in Barcelona, we turned around
and he was at the dinner table immediately behind us.
He took a few minutes to say, hello, What a
nice man, and what a well deserved vacation he and
his wife were having.

Speaker 2 (03:35):
They were the sweetest people. Yeah, I mean, you know,
I have this, It's like, you know, fifteen minutes of fame.
You know, it's very temporary, but because of the exposure
the case has. You know, when I go out in public,
I'm off and recognized and I love it. You know,
I know this is going to dissipate, so but I'm

(03:55):
enjoying it while it's going on. But I didn't expect
In Barcelona there was you know, a table full of
you know, a family, and I thought they were looking
at me. Funny. I was like, this's not a chance
they know who I am. But turns out they were
from the Boston area and there's very very very sweet people.

Speaker 1 (04:13):
Well I'm guessing that verdict it's pretty good for business, David.

Speaker 2 (04:26):
I don't don't talk about my other clients.

Speaker 3 (04:30):
Can we go back to the very beginning and when
you got that phone call from Karen Reid? What was
it about the story that made you want to take
the case.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
Well, I mean, you know what I do is people
people are in trouble and they call me, and it's
rare that I would refuse to take a case. So
you know what, what what struck me was I had
a different impression of Karen than uh, you know who
she actually turned out to be. She had a very

(05:01):
sweet voice on the phone. She sounded confused, she sounded scared.
You know, this is not anything she ever had been
through in her life. And I think her head was spending.
But she sounded really young to me. So you know,
my first thought is this is, you know, maybe a
woman who's like in her late teens or early twenties.

(05:23):
And you know, boy, she turned out to be, you know,
quite different. And this was this phone call was in
the middle of the night pretty much right, well, it
was on a weekend, so it was on the Sunday
of like the biggest blizzard weekend we had hand right,
and so you know this, I'm walking around my you know,

(05:44):
living room with a cup of coffee and nobody's outside,
nobody's doing anything, and yeah, man, I get this call
and I happened to pick it up, and that that
doesn't often happen. I mean on the weekends. We have
an answering service. Yeah, you know, but but I had
the call forwarded to my cell phone, and you know
I got her.

Speaker 1 (06:03):
Well, as it happens, the blizzard became a big part
of the story. Correct at the trials, I mean, you know,
and that night and everything, so you say she sounded young.
Did you get a sense of how immediate her danger was,
like the situation she was in.

Speaker 2 (06:19):
Well, sure, I mean, you know, she suspected what she
might be accused of in light of the contact that
she had had with the police. So you know, I
did expect and you know, prepared for the fact that
charges would be taken out. I was just surprised at

(06:40):
the charges that they chose to take out. My feeling
from the beginning was even if they thought that there
was a collision between her car and John O'Keeffe, which
I think we showed a trial, there wasn't. But even
if they thought that, my read on the cases, at most,
this was a motor vehicle homicide. And you know, they

(07:02):
went right after or right from May one with manslaughter
charges and then and she was the.

Speaker 1 (07:07):
Only one they suspected that she was the only suspect.

Speaker 2 (07:10):
Well, I mean, you know, obviously it came out in time.
I didn't know that at the time, but it came
out in time that you know, they they just focused
on her, in my view, and you know, that was
certainly part of our defense.

Speaker 1 (07:23):
We're talking with the Davianetti, one of Karon Reid's lawyers.
I've got so many questions, Lisa, You've got a ton
of questions.

Speaker 6 (07:28):
Go ahead.

Speaker 3 (07:29):
We were talking about the difference between the first trial
and the second trial, and when you found out that
Brennan would be a part of the second trial, what
you know, what were what were you guys talking about
when that came out? So are you thinking?

Speaker 2 (07:44):
You know, I had two parallel thoughts. One was I
was surprised, excuse me, that the district attorney hired somebody
from outside their office to prosecute the case. I mean,
that's an off us with dozens of lawyers, and my
thought is my first thought was they don't have anybody

(08:05):
there that they trust to handle the case, So it
was surprising to me. The second thought was that, you know,
we had a big fight on our hands for trial too.
You know, I didn't know Hank Brennan personally, but we
have a lot of mutual colleagues and acquaintances, and he

(08:26):
has an excellent representation as an reputation I should say,
as an excellent trial lawyer. So you know, we we
were ready for a big fight.

Speaker 1 (08:38):
Going back to that original phone call, you couldn't have
imagined in a million years what that case was going
to turn into. The fascination people had with these trials.

Speaker 2 (08:50):
No way to predict that, you know. I mean, anytime
there's an alleged homicide of a police officer, it's a
big news case. So you're ready for that, but you're
not ready or anticipating, I should say, what this case
ultimately became.

Speaker 1 (09:10):
What was it like walking into the courtroom every day?
I mean, it was a very crazy scene.

Speaker 2 (09:14):
It's it's surreal. I mean, as as a criminal defense attorney,
you know, you'd sooner be vilified than cheered, right, We're
not used to that. But in this case, the public
was overwhelmingly on our side. You know, to be walking
into court with people, you know, cheering your name and uh,

(09:36):
you know, asking you to stop and pose for selfies
and autographs, it's it's surreal.

Speaker 1 (09:41):
But I have to imagine that had to be tough
on the other side. I would imagine that it was,
you know, because there is a victim there. There's only
one dead person, of.

Speaker 2 (09:53):
Course, and it and it is a tragedy. I mean,
you know, but by I don't, I didn't know John
O'Keeffe but I've yet to meet somebody who says anything
bad about him. His story is incredible and you know,
taking on his niece and his nephew. A selfless person

(10:15):
and it's a tragedy that he's gone.

Speaker 1 (10:18):
So what do you think made it such a fascinating trial?
I think I read a BC Review article on you
or something, and you were giving a lot of the
credits to Turtle Boy.

Speaker 2 (10:28):
Well, he certainly, you know, brought the case into into
focus and you know, made it a real media sensation, right,
I mean, he drew attention to this case and he
deserves a lot of the credit for that. I think ultimately,
in my own personal view is that, you know, it's

(10:52):
it's an intriguing story for which both sides can have
arguments that they're right, and you know, ultimately nobody can
be proven right. You know, they they charged Karen we won.
I know she's innocent, and I think most people agree

(11:12):
with me. But there are still people you know, to
this day that are you know, unhappy with the verdict
and sure still talking about it.

Speaker 1 (11:20):
There are always two sides, and again there is Jon o'caife. Correct,
Michael Proctor being fired? Was that a home run?

Speaker 2 (11:29):
In what way?

Speaker 1 (11:30):
Well, I mean to me, it was like, okay, how
could you even go forward with this case the lead
investigator has been fired for example?

Speaker 2 (11:37):
Do you mean in terms of how it affected our kings?
I see, yeah, because I mean I'm not somebody that
takes delight in other people's misfortune, right, So I didn't
know if that's where you were going. But no, I
mean certainly, you know when when you have a lead
investigator who you know, has you know, some unsavory facts

(12:00):
that came out at trial connected to him, and then
it comes out that he was terminated by his agency,
and you know, you can't change the fact that he
was the lead investigator that couldn't have helped the Commonwealth's case.

Speaker 1 (12:16):
Wow, we're talking with Davannetti and I could go on
and on and on. In fact, I gave you a
little behind the scenes, you know, justin you met him
outside in the studio, you know, as a co hoacht
as well as executive director of this show. And he
actually said to us, oh no, no, no, no, I've
allowed extra timetti. Now you need to understand this show.

(12:37):
Those words would never come out. Okay, I said, well,
what do we get? You know, we've got time constraint
is oh no, no, no, I've allowed extra time.

Speaker 2 (12:45):
I'm so flattered.

Speaker 3 (12:47):
Can I ask a question about Karen Reid because I've
read that she was really the fourth lawyer for you.
I mean, she really stepped in. How important was that
having your client be that connected?

Speaker 2 (12:58):
I mean, oh, my goodness. You know what a different
case this would have been for us to defend if
the DA's office got their wish and was able to,
you know, have her locked up pending trial. It would
have been you know, they asked for a half a
million dollars bail at her arraignment. You know, thank goodness

(13:20):
that was not imposed, and thank goodness she was free
because you know, I very rarely, if at all, have
had a client that invested and knowledgeable about her own defense,
and you know it was. She's a very smart woman,

(13:41):
very hard working, laser focused. I mean I've said on
the courthouse steps, how in awe I was at you know,
her courage and strength to have gone through this. I
don't think had I been in her position, I could
have done it. I don't think many people could have.

Speaker 1 (13:57):
So, yeah, I saw another interview with you where you said, yeah,
she was very professional, very knowledgeable. She was a lawyer
on this team.

Speaker 2 (14:06):
She essentially functioned as the fifth lawyer justin.

Speaker 6 (14:11):
Yeah. So, you know, there was a lot of talk
about the press that she did, you know, the documentaries.
You know they use some of that during the trial.
Can you take us behind the scenes of the talks
you had with her on advising her, if there were,
you know, allowing her to do those interviews which they
end up using in the trial.

Speaker 2 (14:27):
Yeah, that that is a good one, but it's not
something I can speak to you. I'm sorry, no problem, yeh, Yeah,
I mean, well I think I can. I can give
you an answer, It's just not the answer that that
that you want. Yeah, I mean, you know, obviously my
my representation of Karen has ended, but the criminal trial
has ended. I cannot speak for her, nor will I
nor will I reveal any confidences of when you know,

(14:50):
I did represent her, but you know I will say that.
You know, people have commented that it was an unorthodox strategy.
The DA's office did use those interviews as evidence that
they hoped would persuade a jury that she was guilty.

(15:12):
And my view of it is the jury heard it
all and they didn't agree. So whatever you think about
the strategy, it's difficult to second guess success.

Speaker 1 (15:23):
Well, the fact is there is a book in a
movie you are not involved in any way.

Speaker 2 (15:28):
Correct, Well, you asked again, I'm.

Speaker 3 (15:31):
Not getting into what would you like to play you
in a movie?

Speaker 1 (15:35):
Yes, you know, Karen during the interviews, I think in
one of the docu series or something talked about I
forget what she called it, but like the working space
where you folks would get together and you spend so
much time together banging heads and comparing notes and everything else.
In fact, during the trial and watching the docu series,

(15:56):
I was kind of imagining it like scenes from that
movie A Few Good Men with Jack Nicholson and they're
yelling and screaming in the apartment and everything about what
to say, what to do.

Speaker 2 (16:04):
With the trial?

Speaker 1 (16:05):
What was that like? The whole working space so to sid.

Speaker 2 (16:08):
I mean, you know, it's very intense. You know, you
don't often have a trial that lasts for two or
three months where you are, you know, working with colleagues
with whom you don't have a prior relationship really, and
you know, everybody is, you know, the alpha dog. Everybody

(16:29):
is used to being in charge. And now you have
to share you know, decision making and you know, be
deferential to each other. But you know, as I've said
it before, we for people that didn't know each other
going into the the trial, we got along incredibly well.

(16:51):
And there was a lot of you know, mutual respect
among all team members. And you know, realize we're all
living together in the same hotel with a conference room
that is truly a war room, you know, with you
wouldn't believe the number of binders and uh, you know,
a conference table that's full filled of notes and.

Speaker 1 (17:14):
A lot of big cardboard boxes full of time.

Speaker 7 (17:16):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (17:17):
Yeah, a lot of spirited destruction discussions about strategy.

Speaker 3 (17:21):
You guys have twenty four to seven security at that
point for all of that, all of the documents, and
for you and for the team.

Speaker 2 (17:29):
So it was under lock and key. It was, and
you know, under surveillance by hospital. I'm surspal. Sometimes I
felt like I was in the hotel personnel. Yeah yeah, yeah.

Speaker 6 (17:44):
So it didn't sound like this behind the scenes.

Speaker 1 (17:47):
You can't handled the crew.

Speaker 2 (17:50):
That was only a small portion of what happened. David.

Speaker 1 (17:53):
Great to see you, thank you.

Speaker 2 (17:54):
Thank you so much. Guys.

Speaker 8 (17:57):
It's satan McCrae and you're waking up with Billy and
Lisa in the morning, kiss Away.

Speaker 3 (18:04):
Coming into town.

Speaker 1 (18:05):
Yeah, two shows this week, don't forget Tomorrow is Take
Tuesday and we'll have last minute tickets to her sold
out show starting at A ten and do it all
day tomorrow. Okay, now, justin this cannot be possible. One
of the legal team members on Karen Reid's legal team
is one of our.

Speaker 6 (18:24):
Talkback Mafias and used to work with Davey and Etti,
who we just had.

Speaker 4 (18:27):
I just had to call in and say hi to
my old colleague David. Hi, David, it's Victoria.

Speaker 1 (18:32):
I'll come on to let you guys know that a
member of the talkback Mafia was in fact on.

Speaker 4 (18:36):
Karen's legal team.

Speaker 2 (18:38):
Wow.

Speaker 4 (18:38):
So I just wanted to call in and say, hey, Wow.

Speaker 3 (18:41):
That's so cool.

Speaker 1 (18:42):
How cool is this show? Huh? I hope David is
listening now.

Speaker 6 (18:45):
I'd love to talk more with Victoria. Like, ye, she's
during the trials. She must have been listening to us
and our.

Speaker 1 (18:51):
Job right and never telling them what we said if
I said something stupid, which.

Speaker 6 (18:56):
Was you know, She's very likely. Yeah, that's very cool.
Dave left Dave's, Dave's, Dave's Not here.

Speaker 9 (19:03):
Day Now the entertainment of Dates with a Billy Costay.

Speaker 1 (19:10):
Okay, before we do anything else, Lisa Dunavan, we have
so much to unpack with Lisa's book club this morning.

Speaker 3 (19:15):
Let's go all right, So, Jody Pico, the book club
is this Thursday at Big Night Live. I posted a
link if you want to go. People are back from
their summer vacations. I know a lot of teachers are
around now, students, Jody Pico. We released a few more tickets,
so if you want to come, click the link in

(19:35):
my story and it will take you right to ticket Master.
I also want to mention that I've added something really
unique to this specific event, Berkeley College students. They will
be performing. I was lucky enough to see Cordelia Fox
perform at the Boston Public Library about a month ago,
and I invited her and her band to come and

(19:56):
perform for us during the cocktail reception.

Speaker 4 (19:58):
That's wow.

Speaker 3 (20:00):
I love Berkeley. I love you know, you know, supporting
them and giving them a venue to play their music.
And now we have amazing We have live music from
Cordelia Fox and her band during the six to seven
you know portion of the cocktail park.

Speaker 1 (20:17):
I forget people come in from all over the world
to go to Berkeley.

Speaker 3 (20:20):
They do.

Speaker 4 (20:20):
They do.

Speaker 3 (20:22):
Charlie p I mean Amy, Amy Allen, the songwriter John Mayer.

Speaker 4 (20:27):
You could see someone that's going to become huge.

Speaker 1 (20:31):
I'm telling her.

Speaker 3 (20:31):
I saw her at the BPL and she's amazing. She
sings a lot of like, you know, covers, She's got
some like original songs. So yeah, So that's another unique
element of the book Club. This Thursday with Jody Peacock.

Speaker 1 (20:43):
Is this your biggest event ever?

Speaker 3 (20:45):
Well, Mel Robbins was also a big night live, so
it's about the same number of people.

Speaker 1 (20:49):
All right, Yeah, Thursday night.

Speaker 3 (20:51):
So go to the w and you get to meet
Jody Pico after the Q and A. She wants to
meet people. She's going to be signing all the books.

Speaker 4 (20:58):
Wow, that's amazing.

Speaker 2 (20:59):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (20:59):
All right. Meantime, wild weekend for music this past weekend,
We're going to start with Morgan Wallen's two sold out
shows at Gillette. First show he walked out. He always
walked somebody out with him in his concert seorch I
think is very cool. The first show he came out
with Mike Fabel Patriots Coach and the second show he
walked out with Gronk and Gronk was given a Patriots guitar.

(21:21):
He tossed it to Morgan. Morgan tossed it back and
he spiked it on stage. And we had the Jonas
Brothers this past weekend as well, actor Glenn Powell narrating
the opening of the show, which is very cool.

Speaker 2 (21:35):
Look around.

Speaker 1 (21:37):
We come from different places, different streets, different stories, different
sides of the map, but a family always find his
way back. So Glenn Powell is actually filming. They're just
about ready to wrap up right.

Speaker 3 (21:54):
Yeah. Today they were in Providence, they were Johnson and Wales.
They were on College Hill. So yeah, he is all
around and that's why he was here for the Jonas Brothers.

Speaker 9 (22:02):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (22:02):
And it's a JJ Abrams movie and it could be great.

Speaker 3 (22:06):
It's called ghost Writer, will be out next December.

Speaker 1 (22:09):
Jonas Brothers on stage brought out Jesse McCartney and I
know you were there, Winnie, and you've always loved Jesse
mccar have yeah dashboard confessional okay, yep, okay. Jojo who's
from Foxborough that she came out on stage and they
did her song get Out and breaking news from the
Jonas Brothers show. Breaking news Kevin Jonas actually does play

(22:34):
the guitar. It was plugged in and he actually has
his own solo song that he played. And all weekend long,
I was watching all the videos that you guys were posting,
Winnie You and Gianna and the mikey Vee. You were
down there with a broadcast at the show in Jonas Kahn.
What Happens at Jonas Khan.

Speaker 10 (22:52):
So Jonas Kahn is basically a fan event that they're
doing at a seluct few other shows and they have
like their.

Speaker 4 (22:59):
Old horror vand that you can sign.

Speaker 10 (23:01):
They have a meet and greet tent for some of
their openers and if you're in the Jonas fandom, people
that you will know like their little brother, their security guard.

Speaker 1 (23:09):
They do you get to meet the bonus Jones?

Speaker 2 (23:10):
I did.

Speaker 10 (23:11):
I didn't know we're hosting, and he literally no one
told us. He just surprised us, came on stage and
did a song. So that was really really cool.

Speaker 1 (23:19):
Now I got to know, would you recognize the bonus
Jonas on the streets him?

Speaker 10 (23:24):
I would, because you know, think about it, he was
He's a lot younger so when they were coming up,
he was like five six, he was a little kid,
so he was with them everywhere. The bonus Jonas, he
looks like them, Yeah he does. He looks like a
Kevin you know, Joe Mix. He's really talented as well.
And then there was like so many cool fan activations
and we did a meet and greet with them, and.

Speaker 4 (23:44):
You got a seat upgrade.

Speaker 10 (23:45):
So we gave away prizing, we gave marche, we gave
away a meet and greet, so it was really cool
for Kiss went away and the Jonas warted to collab
on Jonas con Mike.

Speaker 4 (23:53):
He had the vibes going. We were there for like
three hours before the show.

Speaker 1 (23:56):
And didn't you bully away into the front rower.

Speaker 4 (23:58):
I didn't believe me, I am.

Speaker 10 (23:59):
We were down on the so I found, you know,
a little opening, and that's where I met Glen Powell
because I was sitting right near him.

Speaker 4 (24:05):
Look I got he honestly is much better.

Speaker 10 (24:09):
Looking than I thought, like in person, he's stunning.

Speaker 1 (24:12):
What I know him from?

Speaker 3 (24:14):
Okay, he was in Top Gun, Maverick, he was in Twister.
He was in the Sydney Sweeney movie.

Speaker 6 (24:20):
Ah yeah, where they maybe hooked.

Speaker 10 (24:23):
Up maybe maybe not, But if you were a millennial
or Jones Brothers fan, I mean Jesse McCartney, Jojo.

Speaker 4 (24:30):
I mean they had Wally, Wally came out and dance.

Speaker 1 (24:33):
That was very.

Speaker 10 (24:36):
Day the Ocean had Wally coming out to Cake by
the Ocean.

Speaker 1 (24:40):
Like, was it the actual Wally from Fenway? Some guy
because he could dance?

Speaker 4 (24:46):
Yeah, yeah, he's fun.

Speaker 3 (24:47):
I was, it was.

Speaker 4 (24:50):
I think it was the best show so far.

Speaker 6 (24:53):
Speaking of Fenway and Cake by the Ocean. One time
I used to DJ D Kids event and they were
like swears obviously and like obviously, Yeah, I played Cake
by the Ocean the dirty version and I didn't.

Speaker 4 (25:05):
Know the dirty version is dirty.

Speaker 1 (25:06):
It's dirty and it continues. Chris Brown out at Fenway
Park tonight. Tate McCrae of course tomorrow and Wednesday nights
in the TD Garden again Tate Tuesday, all day tomorrow
starting at eight ten tomorrow morning with our show will
be given away last minute tickets.

Speaker 9 (25:26):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (25:26):
Little nas X had an interesting weekend in Los Angeles.
He's waking up in jail this morning. He's having breakfast
in DREI.

Speaker 3 (25:34):
He's been there all weekends.

Speaker 1 (25:35):
Yeah, it started Thursday when he was walking the streets
of Los Angeles naked with cowboy boots and an orange.

Speaker 3 (25:42):
Well, he picked an orange traffic cone up at one
point and put it on his head, and he was
going to some party but never made it, mumbling that
he was going to and then they.

Speaker 1 (25:51):
Say he assaulted police.

Speaker 6 (25:52):
So so he was a conehead, is what you're saying.

Speaker 3 (25:56):
Jenny was looking for his old town road.

Speaker 1 (25:58):
Then boyd and he found it. Who led right to
the jail cell.

Speaker 3 (26:01):
Yeah, the poor guy, he had like an aprilly posted
that he had partial love facial paralysis. So I don't
know what's going on.

Speaker 6 (26:08):
Everything was going on that night. He had no paralysis
at all. That he'll see the judge in a few hours.
Hopefully they'll put him somewhere or.

Speaker 4 (26:15):
You got some help, you know, Yeah, well justin you
might be able to speak to this.

Speaker 10 (26:18):
Not to call you out, but if you are having
a drug psychostist or something for the one you're like sober,
don't you just snap out of it normally?

Speaker 6 (26:27):
Yeah, but if there might be some mental health issues,
I think they would have brought him to a hospital.
But he assaulted the cop. Yes, it's a felony, doesn't
he have any friends that could kind of, I'm sure
that they're you know, they're there and.

Speaker 1 (26:41):
The bad judgment caller. Yeah, reports are suggesting, And it
was all weekend I was seeing these reports that only
one current cast member from Saturday Night Live is going
to be back for the new season, season fifty one,
and that one cast member that's already locked in is
James Austin Johnson, who plays President Trump. That's right, it's
me Jack Trump.

Speaker 3 (27:01):
They finally got the body right, he rose from the
dead on the third day.

Speaker 1 (27:05):
I would have done it faster. I will elect anyone
I started that. Oh thank you, it's me. Hi, I'm
the problem.

Speaker 6 (27:13):
It's me. And he's coming on the show when next Friday,
justin next Friday. He's got a show at the Cut
in Gloucester.

Speaker 4 (27:20):
The Cut. Never heard of that.

Speaker 1 (27:21):
Oh yeah, cool place. I walked by it when I
was in Gloucester several weeks ago. Yeah, very cool place.
Patriots had their last preseason game last Thursday Night. Could
be tense at practice today because they've got to cut
the roster by tomorrow.

Speaker 4 (27:33):
Yeah, they make a lot of cuts.

Speaker 1 (27:37):
Yeah, you've witnessed.

Speaker 10 (27:39):
No cut day is crazy there because you have guys
going in and out all day.

Speaker 4 (27:43):
Yeah, that's a lot. There's a lot of like media
stuff you have to do.

Speaker 6 (27:46):
Oh boy.

Speaker 1 (27:47):
Yeah. Red Sox did win three out of the four
games with the Yankees in New York over the weekend.
They did lose last night though, seven too, but they're
still on top of the wild card. They're ahead of
the Yankees. They've been hot. Yeah, they have a Chinese type.
They won the Little League World Series yesterday. We've got
the final call and a.

Speaker 6 (28:04):
Sky high fly ball to left should do it, and
it will for the first time.

Speaker 2 (28:10):
Six nineteen ninety six Chinese type A champions of the
Little League.

Speaker 1 (28:16):
Amazed World. You know, we had a lot of teams
that went pretty deep. I mean Connecticut lost very deep
and uh well Vegas, Nevada lost in the championship round.
Didn't New Hampshire have a team before they made it
to Williamsport? Uh and then Brain here three games at Williamsport. Yeah,

(28:38):
but yeah, I love what I watched it all.

Speaker 3 (28:40):
I watched a little bit of it too.

Speaker 6 (28:41):
It is fun to watch. We also looke fun of
you for watching it, but it is fun. Oh, it's awesome.

Speaker 4 (28:45):
Well, it's pure right, these kids, they're just in you know,
middle school.

Speaker 1 (28:49):
Yeah, and they get upset and they start crying. If
they make an hour. It's a lot of stress, a
lot of stress. You know, they get twenty five thousand
people there.

Speaker 4 (28:56):
Oh yeah, that surprise. I mean when I was going
on Williamsport and.

Speaker 1 (29:00):
So open tennis got underway in New York over the weekend,
and I love this. Venus Williams, forty five years old
is in the open for her.

Speaker 3 (29:07):
And that's Medvedev.

Speaker 2 (29:09):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (29:09):
There was an incident, massive, just.

Speaker 3 (29:12):
Rage incident on the court yesterday. Smashed his rocket into pieces.
His last name is Medvedev and he's and he a photographer,
went on the court. I've never seen anything like it.
Just lost his you know what.

Speaker 2 (29:26):
Wow?

Speaker 6 (29:27):
How about wearing petown? Billy and I our wives, Mike
Rocket his wife and where you know, after dinner we'll
have a nice fire. Was sitting outside by the water.
It was beautiful, great conversation and Billy is not even
paying attention. He's engulfed in the women's tennis on the TV.
It wasn't even involved in our conversation.

Speaker 1 (29:45):
That's the coolest spot though. It brought in town Marina
up on the upper deck. They have flat screens and
fire pits. Did you just sit out, you have a
drink and relax.

Speaker 2 (29:53):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (29:53):
Pete Town was interesting and Serena Williams is taking heat.

Speaker 9 (29:57):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (29:58):
For don't know if it's ozembic as she won.

Speaker 4 (30:01):
They're not saying which one. This a bunch of different
show looks amazing. Yeah, so yeah. I think she said
she lost like thirty one pounds on it.

Speaker 1 (30:08):
Yeah.

Speaker 9 (30:08):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (30:09):
And all of this is brought to you by the
ninety nine Restaurants. You can visit the ninety nine restaurant
Monday through Wednesday. Their newest big deal meal the Crispy
Fried twin Catch North Atlantic Cod Crispy Shrimp just fourteen
ninety nine. That's every Monday. That's today through Wednesday. You
gotta love the ninth And there you go.

Speaker 3 (30:27):
The Jonas brothers. Every time I see them, I get
so tangly. I just completely lose control. From the Planet
Fitness Kiss one of my studios, We're back with Billy
and Lisa in the morning.

Speaker 1 (30:40):
God, what a crazy show this first show back from
vacation again. We want to thank counselor Dave Vionnetti, who
was one of Karen Reid's Lures was live in studio
with us earlier this morning.

Speaker 8 (30:49):
Okay, I love the Karen Reid Lawyer interview, but what
I'm really waiting for is the story of the tattoos
and Justin and Billie's vacation and all the pictures Billy
put up yesterday. I believe it was tell Us the Tea.

Speaker 1 (31:06):
Yeah, there are tales to tell from Peatown. Justin and
his wife Jen came with us. We cruised over. My
contrist rocket cruised over with us, and we had a
couple of fun days. And you know, Peetown is just
a magnificent place and if you haven't been, you really
need to.

Speaker 2 (31:21):
Go and check it out.

Speaker 6 (31:22):
It's an experience for sure.

Speaker 2 (31:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (31:24):
I mean the dunes, the beaches, the restaurants, the shops,
the galleries. I mean, there's just so much to take
in there. And thanks by the way, the Private Provincetown Marina,
they did a great job. And that's a great spot.

Speaker 8 (31:33):
Now.

Speaker 1 (31:34):
At one point we had gone out to dinner, and
after dinner, it so happens right next door to the
restaurant we had dinner in was a tattoo parlor, and
I think it was a combination of my wife Michelle
and your wife Jen said hey, because we were kind

(31:56):
of caught up in it. An hour earlier, Justin was
roaming around with golden made bike shorts and uh it
was it was getting a little creepy. Uh So they say, hey,
you guys should get matching tattoos, you know, to remember
the trip by I said, oh, uh, And then we
walk outside the restaurant and boom, like magic, there is
that we didn't know in advance. It was literally adjacent

(32:18):
to the restaurant we ate. So we went in and
we had to pick. They had books and books. I mean,
if you've been to a tattooed Paula you know. Uh
and and we finally landed on this lame shark. There's
no masculinity to this shark.

Speaker 3 (32:36):
It was that the only thing that three of you
could agree it was choice.

Speaker 1 (32:41):
Well, yeah, there are a lot of different things to books.

Speaker 6 (32:44):
And yeah, maybe had Tasmanian, maybe a penis. You know
it's Pete Town, Yeah yeah, yeah, and that's another story
the night we had hot dogs.

Speaker 1 (32:54):
Uh and we'll get to that. Uh So, anyway, we
agreed on the shark. And if there is such a
thing as a shark. We found it, and so the
three of us had it put on our ankles. And
all weekend I've been getting dms from people. Are those real?
Are those real?

Speaker 5 (33:09):
No?

Speaker 6 (33:09):
There?

Speaker 1 (33:10):
What do you call them? Hannah tattoos? Yeah they're Hannah.

Speaker 3 (33:12):
Yeah, they last a couple of weeks, a couple of weeks.

Speaker 1 (33:14):
Yeah, trouble free. Yeah, yeah, you don't feel a thing
trouble free. And mine is just as dark now as
it was and we got it.

Speaker 6 (33:22):
Yeah, mine is too. And it's right above my magic
mushroom tattoo. It looks like a shark is eating the
mushroom on my leg.

Speaker 1 (33:28):
Yeah. And I've decided, and I made this decision in
the middle of the night last night, that my new
passion is going to be Hannah tattoos. God Like, I
am like, the minute this is gone, I'm going in
for more.

Speaker 6 (33:42):
You gotta get the tribal You should get a tribal
one around you, or the spider web on the elbow, oh,
or the tear drop under here.

Speaker 1 (33:50):
I'm not doing the tear truck.

Speaker 3 (33:51):
I just remember the only time I ever got one,
which I slept weird and it transferred onto my face. Yeah,
and then I had to, like, I had to bring
some bleach in, yeah, to get it off my face.
It looked horrible.

Speaker 1 (34:02):
Yeah, I'm liking the spider. Hopefully I can get the spider.

Speaker 6 (34:06):
Oh, the spider. It's definitely cool.

Speaker 3 (34:08):
Where do they do it around here?

Speaker 10 (34:10):
I'm sure they actually started at the Branch Tree mall, Lisa,
Really one of those little stands, like in the middle
of the mall, the one near Yankee Candle and like pink,
there's one thing that.

Speaker 4 (34:19):
They do they do, Hannah, Well, how about this.

Speaker 1 (34:22):
How about we all go to Brain Tree right and
we get a matching tattoo, and then we can go
to the cheesecake factory.

Speaker 4 (34:29):
It's right next door. It's in the same way.

Speaker 6 (34:33):
What I'm not going to the South Shore?

Speaker 4 (34:35):
No, okay, somewhere. You don't have to come, Billy, Come
take you in the cheesecake fatchery with the branch and Mallya.

Speaker 6 (34:39):
Have fun.

Speaker 1 (34:40):
But you see you coming to the cheesecape factory for
I had a tattoo.

Speaker 4 (34:43):
Sure, can I just get the tattoo and just go
to the cheese factory.

Speaker 2 (34:45):
I don't want anna, No, it's all.

Speaker 1 (34:47):
About the tattoo. It's like connection, don't you feel much
more connected to me. Justin with the matching tattoo.

Speaker 6 (34:53):
I have one with you. That's all I need.

Speaker 10 (34:54):
Should we get a slice of cheesecake and then goo
a tattoo?

Speaker 6 (35:00):
Anyway, you mentioned the hot dog before we got the
Henna's on too. We're at a restaurant right lease, and
they had eight foot long giant sausage called the Destroyer.
The hot dog was called the Destroyer. It was the
biggest dog I've ever seen in my life. No, the
girth was so impressive. Yeah, right, and the length all
of it. And Justin and I both got one. We did,

(35:24):
and I mean it's loaded, and oh, I ate most
of mine. You know, Billy ate like you know a
fifth Well you not only did that, but you got
a full giant lobster roll. I ate so much food
in Peetown. I'm glad I tried on. I had these
gold shorts. I posted the picture that said, boy toy.

(35:45):
You know, I embraced the gainess in town. Good thing.
I put the shorts on before I ate all the food.

Speaker 1 (35:50):
Yeah, and by the way, if you're looking to experience
the giant hot dog, it's bigger than anything I've ever
seen in my life. Governor Bradford, Governor brad right on
the Man Street in Pete.

Speaker 6 (36:01):
It's very good, good morning.

Speaker 9 (36:02):
It's the Mayor of the South and hey, justin any
chance that you could post a picture of you in
those gold lamet short shorts, because I know the women
in the gaze would love it.

Speaker 3 (36:13):
And here's a rumor, it's just a rumor.

Speaker 9 (36:15):
When I was down in Carnival, there was a rumor
going around that mister Tom Cruise was there.

Speaker 2 (36:22):
But it's just a rumor.

Speaker 3 (36:24):
And you heard it here first, have a great day everyone.

Speaker 6 (36:27):
Justin you did post a picture of you in the
gold No you you posted a reel on your Instagram
yesterday and it's in the you know collajah picture. Now
you have to post the picture of you, yeah, all
of your glory. Yeah, it's it's fine, but listen, Pee
Town was it was amazing. I thought I spotted the
mayor of the South End.

Speaker 4 (36:46):
He did it.

Speaker 6 (36:47):
It was the drag We went to a drag show.

Speaker 1 (36:49):
Yeah we didn't know.

Speaker 6 (36:51):
Billy didn't butt myself, our friend Mike Rockett and our wives.
We had a great time. The gayest thing I've ever
seen in my life. Like they had boy toys on
the stage, but there was a person in drag and
it looked and sounded like the mayor. I was convinced
that's his Alteray, think he's in a show. I thought so,
But it's not a diet. Some research it's not. It's
a person called Dina Martina.

Speaker 4 (37:12):
Nicea Maina Martina.

Speaker 6 (37:14):
Yeah, so there I was in my shorts.

Speaker 3 (37:16):
Good morning, morning, crew, and welcome back.

Speaker 4 (37:18):
We all missed yous so so much last week. I
was kind of on vacation myself, and I did.

Speaker 3 (37:24):
Happen to notice Justin and his golden shorts.

Speaker 4 (37:27):
And I need to know what bet did you lose that.

Speaker 3 (37:31):
You had to wear those.

Speaker 4 (37:32):
I can't see that now, and this week is ruined
for me.

Speaker 6 (37:36):
Okay, that's a little much.

Speaker 1 (37:38):
I thought you looked fat.

Speaker 6 (37:40):
Let's see your legs.

Speaker 1 (37:41):
You brought those shorts to life.

Speaker 3 (37:43):
Bob Zella any Billy a Lisa every morning kiss one.

Speaker 1 (37:47):
I wait, Justin, we really missed the talk back mafia.
Let's get some leftovers in Good Morning Cruise. Steve the
pharmacist here. It is so good to hear your voices again.
Sounds like everyone had a great vacation. Billy, that tripped
down to Pete Town. Sounds amazing.

Speaker 11 (38:04):
Quick question, did you run into the mayor of the
South End and did Justin free the nipple? Just curious,
but hey, anyways, it does sound like you guys had
a great time.

Speaker 1 (38:15):
And it's so good to hear your voices again.

Speaker 11 (38:18):
Happy Monday, Justin.

Speaker 6 (38:19):
I forgot to have you free the nipple. I did
at one point take my shirt off. Oh yeah, well
I didn't want you to see my inverted nipples, so
because you would, you couldn't take your eyes off of them.
My nipples are kind of inverted at a surgery on
my breast. Sen's another story for another day. But yes,
it was a fantastic time. The mayor we did look
for him, but we left on Tuesday because of the

(38:41):
big the hurricane conoval. The big parade was on Thursday.

Speaker 1 (38:45):
Summer Camp.

Speaker 3 (38:46):
Summer Camp.

Speaker 6 (38:47):
That was the theme, Lisa, Summer Camp.

Speaker 3 (38:49):
I like that.

Speaker 1 (38:51):
Oh you see the ferries coming over.

Speaker 6 (38:54):
I could have wore the gold shorts that you posted
of me at the Yeah, that would have been good.

Speaker 3 (38:59):
I saw the rail and there's no way that you're
going to hesitate posting that.

Speaker 1 (39:04):
But getting to show those legs.

Speaker 6 (39:06):
Though, Listen, I'm really proud of my legs. It takes
a lot of it's a lot of grit and a
lot of pain to grow muscle on your legs. It hurts.
There's a lot of soreness that goes to that. So yeah,
I'm proud of you could actually have your.

Speaker 1 (39:19):
Own show in Pewtown. There's a lot come on stage
with those guns and.

Speaker 6 (39:25):
Those quads and just whoopee. We saw some things at
this drag show. We saw some things and some body parts. Yeah,
like everything just out there. It's just out there. It's
inexperience for sure. Anyway, great time in Petown.

Speaker 7 (39:41):
Mike from New Hamshire calling in about my Spear review. Whennie,
you gotta go see the Backstreet Boys at the Spear.
They've added more dates, I believe December, January, February. You
need to go out, like you have to get tickets.
It is the best thing I've ever seen, like and
through unning concerts because like I mean the Backstreet Boys,

(40:03):
I've seen him twice before, but at the Sphere it
was amazing.

Speaker 2 (40:06):
Go see it.

Speaker 6 (40:07):
Oh yeah, remember before vacation, Mike from New Hampshire was
going to the Sphere.

Speaker 1 (40:11):
What I hear?

Speaker 10 (40:12):
That's a raining enjoyment because Mike goes to a lot
of concerts and I I want to go, but like,
I don't want to Vegas.

Speaker 4 (40:18):
I'm in Vegas twice. I don't like it.

Speaker 6 (40:20):
You know who got tickets aj down the hall at Jamming.
She's got in the queue and she was able to
buy it. I love that she's going to Vegas, going
to Vegas.

Speaker 4 (40:28):
Yeah, for her December.

Speaker 1 (40:30):
I saw some of the new videos from the Backstreet
Boys at Sphere.

Speaker 10 (40:33):
I did too.

Speaker 3 (40:34):
Oh, my Kristin Cavalari went and she posted over the
weekend and just said it was the best show she's
ever been to.

Speaker 4 (40:40):
Yeah, it looked my cousin, she said it was amazing.

Speaker 3 (40:42):
They picked her up and threw over their shoulder.

Speaker 2 (40:47):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (40:48):
One of the guys in the brain.

Speaker 2 (40:50):
She's kind of cute too. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (40:52):
My wife Michelle kept saying, what are you watching? Because
I kept getting videos of the Backstreet Boys at the Sphere.

Speaker 6 (40:58):
Yeah, it looks it looks incredible with the floating stage, Yeah,
kind of stage that floats above.

Speaker 4 (41:04):
Yeah, it's it's incredible. I honestly also think the sea
would make me sick.

Speaker 10 (41:07):
Because of how big the screen is, Like, I don't
know if I can handle that that much of audio
and visual, I don't know.

Speaker 4 (41:15):
It's a lot.

Speaker 1 (41:16):
Why don't they stream the show?

Speaker 10 (41:18):
Well, I mean there's so many videos you can you
can see basically the whole show already. People are posting
TikTok instagrams. But I wish they would take this exact
tour and tour instead of making a residency you know
what I mean, at different venues.

Speaker 6 (41:30):
Sorry, it's not Winnie's way to Vegas.

Speaker 5 (41:33):
Yeah, you gotta love Winny this morning, spreading joy and
positivity wherever she goes.

Speaker 8 (41:42):
Kids one way, It's the morning wrap up on Billy
and Lisa in the morning.

Speaker 6 (41:46):
Yeah, we're back from vacation. Good to be back. We
had a nice rest. We all did different things. We
covered everything that we did, uh, Pete Town, Jonas Khan,
Lisa was in Maine, South Carolina, a lot of fun.
But we're back to work.

Speaker 1 (41:58):
Yep.

Speaker 6 (41:58):
That's the good news. And some oh, you know, good news,
but you know, emotional news. Lisa dropping Max off, her
son at college. When's that Wednesday?

Speaker 3 (42:06):
Wednesday?

Speaker 1 (42:07):
Good morning, morning crew, Lisa.

Speaker 8 (42:09):
I wanted to wish you luck dropping your son off.

Speaker 4 (42:12):
I know you're going to cry. At some point, whether
it's there in front of him or after.

Speaker 10 (42:18):
And when he's coming home for the holidays, you're going
to be so excited.

Speaker 4 (42:23):
And then after him being.

Speaker 3 (42:24):
Home for about a week, you're going to be like,
please go back. And then comes to January drop off,
which is even worse if you ask me.

Speaker 6 (42:33):
Yeah, after the holidays, yeah, because they come back, you
spend some time, and then you know, you get emotional
or you can't wait to get rid of them.

Speaker 8 (42:41):
I think I might be a horrible parent because when
I dropped my son off at college for the first
time freshman year.

Speaker 3 (42:48):
I was doing like backflips out of the parking lot.
And then I went and I had drinks with friends,
and I'm terrible.

Speaker 1 (42:57):
Yeah, No, not so much. I think that's awesome rinks
with friends.

Speaker 3 (43:03):
It does free you up a little bit, a little bit. Yeah,
but you know, Riley's still around.

Speaker 6 (43:08):
You know, when it's really you're really going to fail
it when Riley goes to you still have why you
have one of two still, you know? So speaking of crying,
we had David Yannetti in the studio Karen Reid's, one
of Karen Reid's attorneys. What an awesome guy he was.
This interview ran probably longer than anyone I can think of,
but he answered all the questions, including that moment where

(43:30):
he cried when the verdict was read.

Speaker 2 (43:32):
I was concerned that maybe there was a holdout or two,
you know, because we had just been through a hung jury,
and so part of it is, you know, I'm thinking
I can't do this again. Trial three. I'm a little
embarrassed that that's the first time that a client has
had to comfort me.

Speaker 1 (43:52):
But we got my girl Tip standing by and ready
to go. Let's flick the switch.
