Speaker 1 (00:00):
And we've got a pair of tickets for the Jonas
Brothers come in to Fenway Park August twenty third, and
if you win those this morning, you also qualify for
the grand prize.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
The best week ever, Lisadnymous And.

Speaker 3 (00:09):
We're picking the grand prize tomorrow and it includes Morgan
Wall and tickets such a lot Jonas Brothers, like you
said at Fenway and Tate McCrae.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
Yeah, And here's how it works. I'm going to call
a name.

Speaker 1 (00:18):
That person has fifteen minutes to get back to us,
and please be paying attention. We want to give away
the Jonas Brothers. We want to qualify someone else before
the grand prize tomorrow morning. So here we go at
Tracy Morevez. That's at Tracy Merevez. You've got fifteen minutes
to get back to us, and if you do, you
instantly pocket a couple of tickets for the Jonas Brothers

(00:40):
and you'll qualify for the grand prize tomorrow. And now, Lisa,
you've got a security alert at PSA.

Speaker 3 (00:46):
I've got a social media PSA involving Instagram, so listen up.

Speaker 4 (00:50):
Yesterday Meta launched a new.

Speaker 3 (00:52):
Feature, So if you look up into your like where
you would post a story, you'll see the picture of
a globe. Okay, so if you click on it, that
will now share your location. So it's basically Instagram's version
of snap map, which all the young kids use, so
you can see where all your friends are. So the

(01:13):
PSA is, if you don't want your location shared, you
need to make sure it's not being shared.

Speaker 2 (01:21):
I certainly don't want mine shared.

Speaker 4 (01:23):
I don't want mine either.

Speaker 5 (01:24):
So you have to have the app updated. And what's
happening is that most people don't have the location turned on,
but some people it's automatically turning on. That means all
of your followers can see where you are every time
you log into Instagram, which is a big issue.

Speaker 6 (01:40):
Instagram is now automatically sharing your precise location with all
your followers.

Speaker 1 (01:44):
That means anyone can see where you live, what you do,
where you work, all your daily routines.

Speaker 4 (01:49):
Yeah, and a lot of people are not aware of it.

Speaker 5 (01:52):
Yeah, they have no idea. My app updates automatically, so
I didn't have to go and and manually update the app.
It automatically does it. So luckily I wasn't sharing my location, right,
I wasn't either, Not that anyone really cares where I am.

Speaker 2 (02:04):
But how do I unshare mine?

Speaker 7 (02:06):
You check mine wasn't sharing either, You might not be
sharing with you.

Speaker 5 (02:10):
Check you can check billies. Just look for the map icon.
So if you're on your Instagram screen there, just swipe
over to the right there and you'll see like you
know those weird notes that people write, you know, those notes, yeah,
messages there, there's a maps thing there. You just click
that and it'll say if you're sharing it or not,
and you can choose to share it with people your friends,
but you have to be following them.

Speaker 3 (02:30):
Yeah, that's the purpose of it. But it's also a
security risk. I think that there are a lot of
like Instagram has such a wide range of users in
age groups. Yeah that I think a lot of people
are not aware of this huge Yeah.

Speaker 7 (02:42):
And if you're a public figure or anyone that's the
public page and don't follow you, they can see you.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
It's dangerous. Yeah, it's dangerous.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
And although I know my phone all day, every day,
all it constantly says is a software.

Speaker 2 (02:57):
Update, Like you have an Android phone.

Speaker 1 (03:00):
No matter how many times I update, another update comes
up in about twenty seconds.

Speaker 2 (03:05):
Yeah, what is that? Everything's a scam.

Speaker 3 (03:09):
He's I think Billy's clicking on stuff that he shouldn't
be clicking on.

Speaker 5 (03:12):
Yeah, it's tough. It's tough because some things look like
the legit links and stuff. They look like news stories,
and Billy, you're you're a news guy. Yeah you see
a story that interesting link.

Speaker 1 (03:22):
I click on stories, news stories all the time. Yeah,
but I get weird stories, like of weird people. You know,
at least the sees it all the time, says where
did you get that?

Speaker 2 (03:32):
Why did you get that?

Speaker 5 (03:33):
Okay, So for all the people listening right now, if
you have Instagram, check it. Go to your Paige, go
right to your home screen, swipe over to the left.
Just shows your messages at the top with a note song.
Click the maps note and it will say if you're
sharing or not? And if you are sharing, you're gonna
want to turn that off.

Speaker 2 (03:50):
I always get updates on what the Chips guy is doing.
What's his name?

Speaker 4 (03:54):
Oh, Eric a Strada?

Speaker 2 (03:56):
Eric a Strada? I like, I don't really care what
Eric won or where. Oh good, let's go. What's her name?

Speaker 7 (04:02):
You have?

Speaker 2 (04:03):
Tracy?

Speaker 8 (04:05):
Tracy?

Speaker 2 (04:05):
Yes, hello at Tracy.

Speaker 8 (04:08):
I got so excited to win?

Speaker 2 (04:11):
Did I say it right, Ma Revez.

Speaker 8 (04:14):
That's correct.

Speaker 1 (04:15):
Yeah, that's the Latin in me right there. Tray, it's okay, Greek,
I'm also part Greek. Yeah, so perfect, Tracy.

Speaker 2 (04:26):
You've got Jonahs Brother's tickets right now.

Speaker 8 (04:28):
Oh my god, so excited. My daughter is leaving for
college in two weeks, so this will be like our
last hurrah.

Speaker 1 (04:34):
Well, Jonahs Brother's tickets are already in your pocket, but
least she's getting more.

Speaker 3 (04:39):
If she Winsay, which is an amazing place, is a concert,
so it also qualifies you for Morgan.

Speaker 4 (04:45):
Wallan at Gillette the same week and taping my.

Speaker 8 (04:47):
Ve as she loves country music, she would die to
go to Morgan Walllet also.

Speaker 1 (04:53):
But these are three of the biggest concerts this year,
all in one week.

Speaker 2 (04:56):
That's going to be a sensational send off for your daughter.

Speaker 8 (05:00):
Oh my god, this would be awesome. You know what
we Actually I was tagged in another when you had
the Kiya giveaway, me and my daughter all the way
back from Ohio for the chance to win that Kia
and I was picked as like number five and I
didn't end up winning anything. So this is just so incredible.

Speaker 1 (05:18):
I think this is actually bigger than the Kia. All
due respect to me, I think so so, Tracy, you
gotta hold on. Okay, you've got one more step. You
got to talk to producer Riley. But she's a lot
of fun. She's fun at parties too, if you want
to invite. Yeah, okay, so hold on and talk to
producer Riding.

Speaker 5 (05:35):
So yeah, she qualifies for the best week ever. But today,
at the very least.

Speaker 2 (05:39):
Two tickets to the Jonas Concerts.

Speaker 4 (05:41):
Brilliant Lisa Kiss.

Speaker 1 (05:43):
So, a couple of minutes ago, we're talking about this
new location thing and we're getting some advice.

Speaker 4 (05:47):
Now justin I had to leave.

Speaker 7 (05:49):
A talk back about the location thing. I actually found
out my husband was going to.

Speaker 6 (05:55):
Propose to me because I saw his work at showing
out at the restore on.

Speaker 7 (06:01):
So there's interferm thing to get some people in trouble.

Speaker 4 (06:04):
It's so true.

Speaker 2 (06:06):
Oh yeah.

Speaker 5 (06:08):
Instagram just rolled out a new feature where it can
show your location. You can turn it off. It should
default to off, but some people are reporting when they
update Instagram it is sharing their location with all of
their followers, which is troubling.

Speaker 2 (06:20):
Wow, troubling for all different sorts of people.

Speaker 4 (06:23):
Yeah, this is very troubling.

Speaker 2 (06:26):
Going to a brothel or something.

Speaker 7 (06:28):
Well, I hope the right people don't have their location
on so they can get caught doing bad things. May
this find the right people?

Speaker 5 (06:35):
Yeah, or on more of the scary side, you know,
a stalker or yah, yeah, somebody that wants to do you.

Speaker 1 (06:41):
Know, there is so so many things wrong with this,
I think meantime. You say that my phone doesn't even
have it.

Speaker 2 (06:48):
No, your phone has nothing. But well that's because my
phone is for adults.

Speaker 5 (06:53):
Okay, but I updated. So I updated Billie's Instagram. It's updated.
All the other features are there, but the app icon
is not.

Speaker 7 (07:02):
Let's see if it takes a second to like kick in,
because yesterday mine was updated with the little repost thing
you know that you can do now. But I didn't
have the map last morning.

Speaker 5 (07:11):
Oh okay, so it might just take some time. Yeah, yeah,
I see, so, yeah it'd be awesome. Bill's location was shared.

Speaker 2 (07:16):
Oh my god, I don't want it shared. I don't
even want the location available on my Phonekay.

Speaker 7 (07:20):
Well, we all know you have the Charles Town Arena,
all right, everyone knows I don't really go far.

Speaker 5 (07:25):
Yeah, any any number of restaurants and the Boston exactly.

Speaker 7 (07:31):
He had the Real House in East Boston for the
eighty seventh time.

Speaker 1 (07:34):
No go find Nelson dancing in Charlestown looking from behind
a bush the YMCA.

Speaker 2 (07:40):
Yeah, oh the Charlestown. Ye Bill goes to the y
So yeah, I wouldn't worry about you.

Speaker 9 (07:50):
Right now.

Speaker 10 (07:50):
And we're back with Billy and Lisa in the morning.
Now the entertainment update with a.

Speaker 1 (07:59):
Billy Cops at least before we get going. You had
a couple of book club announcements earlier this morning.

Speaker 3 (08:04):

Speaker 1 (08:25):

hundred have been.

Speaker 3 (08:29):

the click the Ticketmaster link, and I also want to
mention I will be at Logan Airport tomorrow in Terminal

Speaker 2 (08:58):

Speaker 4 (08:59):
They get well, they can if they're flying out.

Speaker 3 (09:01):
So if you're if you're going tomorrow to Logan between
twelve and three, look for us.

Speaker 4 (09:07):
We'll be at the Hudson you know book area.

Speaker 3 (09:10):
Hudson you know sells a lot of books and they
are putting this event on and it's going to be
really amazing.

Speaker 4 (09:16):
So I'm going to do like ten minute q and
a's with the authors.

Speaker 5 (09:18):
That's pretty cool for people that are flying in or out, Yes,
and just they can kind of stop and take.

Speaker 3 (09:23):
It in and they can get their book signed. Yeah,
oh yeah, which is great. So yeah, the author is
working so great.

Speaker 1 (09:29):
Pass book Club invading the Logan Airport. I always stop
at Hudson News for the deodorant on the way.

Speaker 3 (09:34):
I Hudson news is amazing, and we did a lot
for Massport over the holidays.

Speaker 4 (09:38):
You and I we were there.

Speaker 2 (09:39):
That's right, Well, that's right mass Dot. Yeah, hey, Matt's Dot.
What's up?

Speaker 1 (09:43):
Okay, there's that. And then there's the Red Sox. The
winning streak was stopped last night at seven games. They
lost to the Royal seven to three. So I'm going
to start a series with the Padres in San Diego tomorrow. Meantime,
romananth and the kid the rookie total of two hundred
and fifty at bats and already an eight year, one

(10:04):
hundred thirty million dollars deal.

Speaker 11 (10:07):
For me, it was it was just more of wanting
to be here and getting a feel for the everyday
lifestyle here, but at the same time knowing that again
I came up through this organ and always wanted to
be here and always knew how great this city was
and how passionate the city was. And then you know,
I got when I got to experience it, and like
pres mentioned, you know, only being one hundred and fifty
at bats in, you know, I can tell this is

(10:28):
where I want to be and there's no doubt.

Speaker 2 (10:29):
Yeah, so he's buying the drinks this weekend the Roman Empire.

Speaker 5 (10:32):
Yes, by the way, he could make up to two
hundred and thirty million with all the extras.

Speaker 2 (10:38):
Oh my godness, is he married? This kid's the real deal.

Speaker 6 (10:43):
So young.

Speaker 2 (10:44):
Yeah, nasty.

Speaker 5 (10:45):
I saw him live at Fenway a couple of weeks
ago and it was right nasty.

Speaker 2 (10:49):
He gets really bad man.

Speaker 1 (10:51):
Meantime, the Patriots had their first preseason game tomorrow night
to in Foxboro with the Commanders, and the two teams
practiced together yesterday and there was a scuffle. Two players
got into it, and I love this coach of Rabel
got in the middle of it and actually came out
with a cut on his face. Drake May very impressed
by the coach.

Speaker 2 (11:11):
Yeah I saw, Yeah, it was like the trump gunshot
laughing at that.

Speaker 12 (11:17):
But uh no, I think.

Speaker 11 (11:19):
He saw always breaking down the huddle, and I'm sure
what happened when it happened, but uh you know, he.

Speaker 2 (11:24):
Said, don't worry about We'll see it on film. So
we'll see something pretty cool. Game one preseason tomorrow night.

Speaker 1 (11:29):
And don't forget the Brady statue gets unveiled right before
the game out, did you let tomorrow?

Speaker 5 (11:35):
Jason Tatum was at the practice yesterday. No boot on
his foot.

Speaker 2 (11:38):
That's very encouraging. Good news. Wow, that was fast.

Speaker 1 (11:42):
Meantime, shohey Otani had his one thousandth hit yesterday and
of course it was.

Speaker 2 (11:46):
A home run.

Speaker 13 (11:47):
Smocks one in the air, deep center field, Scott going back,
forget about it. It's gone halfway up to pavilion. The
Dodger pitcher launches. It's a massive home run.

Speaker 2 (12:01):
What a shot.

Speaker 1 (12:03):
Braintree Little League team will play New Hampshire tonight. This
is a primetime game at seven o'clock. The New England
Championship is on the line. The winner will move on
to the World Series in Williamsport. That's seven o'clock to night,
so good luck to both teams. Meantime, Major League Baseball
will get its first female umpire this weekend. Jen Powell

(12:26):
gets to call for the Marlins Braves series this coming weekend.
NBA got its first female official twenty eight years ago.

Speaker 2 (12:35):
They're a little behind. I just want to make a correction.

Speaker 5 (12:37):
Earlier I had said that there were NHL female refs.
There are, but never have they done an official regular
season game.

Speaker 2 (12:46):
They only do like events, NHL events interesting, so they
got to get on board too.

Speaker 1 (12:51):
Yeah, it's gonna be another crazy weekend at movie theaters
this weekend. The Freaky or Friday movie opens tomorrow. You
said you're going in the morning after the show.

Speaker 7 (13:01):
There's like a ten thirty or eleven o'clock screening and Showcase.
I'm in there.

Speaker 2 (13:04):
You're that big a fan.

Speaker 7 (13:05):
Well, okay, Freaky Friday like Cinderell Story, Chad Milcher, Murray,
Hillary Duff, Lindsay Lohan. That was like my era of
like who I Idolize? And yeah, that's what I was watching,
So I'm super excited to go.

Speaker 2 (13:16):
Lindsay looks phenomenal.

Speaker 8 (13:17):
She does.

Speaker 1 (13:18):
Yeah, oh yeah, Captain Mike care the gift that keeps
un given North Quinsy's own Winnie.

Speaker 13 (13:24):
It's gonna be a beautiful summer day tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (13:26):
And how's that girl gonna spend.

Speaker 6 (13:27):
It in a dark, desolate movie they had to watch
in Freaky Friday.

Speaker 7 (13:31):
That's right, that's right, I will. I can't wait.

Speaker 14 (13:34):
You know what?

Speaker 4 (13:34):
Happy to do it.

Speaker 7 (13:35):
Exactly, Showcase as they cinema's.

Speaker 2 (13:37):
Very comfy seat, Oh, big box of popcorn? Yeah, and
ready to go.

Speaker 1 (13:41):
Yeah yeah, weapons movie has a lot of buzz.

Speaker 2 (13:46):
It starts Julia Garner and Josh Brolin Broland blown away
by the director on this.

Speaker 15 (13:50):
Project's brilliantly designed. I think that's what people are reacting
to most. It's a brilliantly designed script. And I read
it first. I hadn't seen his first movie, Barbarian, and
then I got to I wanted to meet him, and
then he told me, which I think is interesting, that
every character is based off of reaction that he had
to a friend of his passing away.

Speaker 2 (14:13):
So is Zach Cregor.

Speaker 15 (14:15):
Zach Creigor, who did Barbarian, is the writer director of Barbarian,
which I thought was a really kind of great emotional aspect,
and then he took this exhausted genre of horror that
we're all so used to and kind of bored by
and made something super unique.

Speaker 1 (14:29):
Yeah, this sounds like a complicated but a very cool
plot line. I'm very excited.

Speaker 7 (14:34):
I might go there Friday night.

Speaker 2 (14:36):
I might.

Speaker 7 (14:36):
I might do a double duty and go back Friday
night to see this.

Speaker 1 (14:39):
Why don't you just walk out of Freaky your Friday
tomorrow and walk into the next theater for weapons.

Speaker 7 (14:44):
Because I want to cheese hate that react.

Speaker 2 (14:46):
Okay, we used to do that as kids. My dad
and I really.

Speaker 5 (14:50):
Yeah, he would. He would pick the movies that were
kind of close in time. We would go on a
Saturday at the matinee and then we go hit two
or three movies.

Speaker 2 (14:57):
Oh that's awesome. Yeah, cheap prick. Oh, I said, you
didn't even need a ticket.

Speaker 5 (15:04):
You just walked in the next price movies.

Speaker 1 (15:10):
The new Pete Davidson Eddie Murphy movie, The Pickup, is
out today on Prime.

Speaker 2 (15:15):
He was on SETH Meyers last night and this question
popped out.

Speaker 15 (15:18):
Should you own the escalat that Tony Soprano actually drove
on the spranas?

Speaker 2 (15:22):
Well, it's cool, it's I first of all, it's my
favorite show ever. Of course, I watched it twice a year.

Speaker 15 (15:27):
I don't Yeah, I don't think there's anything or will
ever be anything remotely as good.

Speaker 2 (15:32):
Okay, So cool that he has that car, So awesome.
What did think he paid for? Iconic? Oh, probably a
lot of money. Yeah, Andy's got to go tee and
a porn mustache. No, it's the handlebar mustache. Have you
seen this? Yeah?

Speaker 7 (15:45):
I think he looks hot. You always thought I've had
a thing for him for like ten years.

Speaker 1 (15:50):
Actress Aubrey Plaza from The White Lotus is going to
play Hollywood Madam Heidi Flice in a bio pic you
might remember or not that high he flies ran a
high profile prostitution rate. Lacy, you were running down some
of the famous actors who were on the Heidi's list.

Speaker 3 (16:06):
Yeah, Leo DiCaprio, George Lucas there, Yeah, the list goes
on and on. But again there have been other you know,
they've made movies about her. It's just going to be
great because she looks exactly like her. Yeah, and we
loved her in The White Loados, one.

Speaker 2 (16:18):
Of the craziest black books ever.

Speaker 1 (16:20):
Yep, as they call them, Charlie Sheen, of course, Charlie
she Yeah.

Speaker 7 (16:24):
Isn't it funny that this didn't ruin anyone's career?

Speaker 6 (16:27):
Now?

Speaker 2 (16:28):
The only get away with it was her.

Speaker 4 (16:31):
She went to jail for twenty months.

Speaker 2 (16:33):
Oh yeah, Yeah.

Speaker 1 (16:34):
And Eminem's documentary Stands comes out today. It's in theaters
and last night surprise fans at the premiere in London.

Speaker 14 (16:41):
I think I was just understanding the impact that my
my music was having on some people. And it's so
crazy to me to look at like, over my career,
just the fact that I was able to impact.

Speaker 2 (17:00):
People I love you too, but.

Speaker 14 (17:04):
I'm trying to think of what I.

Speaker 2 (17:07):
Want to say here.

Speaker 1 (17:08):
Yeah, one of the coolest things ever coming to the
TD Garden next year, very early next year, in January,
the TD Garden will be transformed into a massive bull
riding ring. They're going to have one hundred bulls in
the building. They're bringing in seven hundred and fifty tons

you to come on the show. And you have to understand, Donnie,
every time your name comes up, and it comes up

(19:19):

so much, they immediately say, hey, why don't you just
call your buddy Donnie Wahlberg.

Speaker 2 (19:29):

Speaker 9 (19:35):
Yeah, I understand, and I want you to know, when

never look at you as being a bother billy. You've
always been good to me and the guys and the
new kids, and you were one of the first people

(19:56):
in any position of radio or anything that treated us
with respect and love in that city. And it will
always mean the world to me that you called me
and text me and check in to come on the show.

Speaker 1 (20:06):
Well, I really appreciate that, Donnie, and your family has
really been good to us. I don't know if you
even realize this, but Jenny Johnson and I have a cookbook,
and your brother Mark did the forward to the book.

Speaker 9 (20:21):
Well to see now I have a problem.

Speaker 2 (20:28):
Yeah, ope, see.

Speaker 1 (20:32):
You know you have early morning sound to your voice.
Are you in bed right now, Donnie.

Speaker 9 (20:39):
I actually just got out of the bed because I
think our phone's breaking up a little, so I'm moving
to a different part of the apartment. Yeah. Yeah, it
was a big It was a big week filming in Boston,
and I mean we filmed on the Green Monster. We
filmed in the Boston Common on the Waterfront and Charlestown.
We were everywhere, and I was yelling, doing a lot
of stop, please stop, please loud volume, so my voice

(21:06):
is a little beat up this morning.

Speaker 1 (21:08):
Now I got to ask you. Did you and Jenny
FaceTime each other overnight?

Speaker 9 (21:13):
We did? In fact, she's not only did we face time.
I had to hang up on her to take this
call with you. But I was okay doing it because
she's actually going to come meet me for the weekend.
Were have the weekend together.

Speaker 1 (21:28):
And yeah, well, I think you have a Wallburgers in Toronto,
do you?

Speaker 9 (21:35):
We do? We have one. Well, it's actually in the airport,
so I can only really pop in there if I'm
taking a trip. Yeah, but other words, that that's the
one up here. So when I try to go to
Wallburger's once in a while, you know, I don't want
to go too much because it could be problematic for me.
I try to stay in really good shape. I don't

(21:57):
work out at like three am, like my brother Mark,
but I work out and eat really well and stay fit.
So Wahlberger is like my weekly treats.

Speaker 6 (22:06):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (22:06):
I gotta tell you, Donnie, you look really good. In fact,
I don't think I've ever said this to another man.
But the other day me and Lisa and Winnie were
talking here in the studio and they both said, and
I think you should take this as a compliment.

Speaker 2 (22:23):
They both said, you're a dilf.

Speaker 9 (22:27):
Wow, thank you all.

Speaker 2 (22:34):
Yeah, And for the record, Donnie, I do too. You know.

Speaker 9 (22:37):
It's you know, you know, Billy, we've always shared that
with each other. Uh, only only professionally, but I think, uh,
you've always been a look at yourself, my friends.

Speaker 2 (22:51):
Wait a minute, Donnie, are you saying that I'm a dilf?

Speaker 6 (22:59):
Hey?

Speaker 2 (22:59):
This this is very cool. You went to the.

Speaker 9 (23:02):
Red Sox Dad. I'd like to know.

Speaker 1 (23:07):
You went to the Red Sox game the other night
and they wasted no time finding you with the cameras.

Speaker 2 (23:12):
Can you play that justin?

Speaker 7 (23:15):
All right?

Speaker 12 (23:15):
That's Donny Wahlberg, who is a Boston native and is
wearing a Mets longsleeve tea. I would imagine that that
pains him. However, he is here at Fenway Park. They
are shooting an episode of the TV drama Blue Bloods.
He's an NYPD detective Danny Reagan Boston Blue Rather.

Speaker 4 (23:33):
So, welcome to Fenway.

Speaker 2 (23:35):
Donnie did it pain you to put the Mets jersey on.

Speaker 9 (23:39):
Yes, But whenever I see these posts or people talking
about it, they all say, I bet you he put
in his contract that he wouldn't have to wear the Yankees,
and that is true. I didn't put it in my contract.
I just proclaimed it. The first day. I said, listen,
Danny is a New Yorker, He's going to Boston. I
will not be a Yankee fan. It's not Lee and

(24:04):
that's it. And they were like okay, and so yeah.
So it did pain me. I was literally running around
up there on the Green Monster like covering my chest
so like all the real fans because we were surrounded
by extras. But once I got past them, all the
real fans were like, what are you doing? You know?
But the best part about the clip is that the

(24:26):
family and friends in the clip put a Red Sox
jersey on Danny at the end of the scene end
of an episode, and it's it was really sweet and
really fun, and it did pain me. But I loved
every second of filming the scene because I knew the
end was going to be worth the torture that I
had to go through. We're in the Mets jerseys.

Speaker 2 (24:45):
How would you compare it doing this show to spin
off of Boston Blue to Blue Bloods.

Speaker 9 (24:51):
Oh, well, you know, it's it's wow. It's a heavy
question because blue Bloods was, you know, in many ways
I didn't have I was sort of responsibility free in
some ways. And I don't I don't mean that in
a an arrogant way or anything like that. I was
playing a New Yorker. I'm playing in New Yorker and

(25:12):
I'm a Bostonian, So I got to have some with
that and got to really dive into that character and
just be you know, crazy and really over the top
with it. But now I'm in Boston. I feel a
great responsibility to you know, respect the city of Boston
while portraying a New Yorker. And it's a delicate tight
rope to walk. And of course, you know, the family

(25:35):
and Tom Selleck and the entire cast were you know,
my friends, and we're very close and so this is
a new world. Of course, going to stay connected with
the old characters, and they'll be popping up from time
to talk.

Speaker 2 (25:48):
Good appearances.

Speaker 9 (25:50):
Oh absolutely, Oh yeah, we have. The first episode is
going to blow people's minds. I think people are going
to be like, oh my god, Like there's some twists
and turns in the first episode, and then we're going
to continue that. You know, we want to pay respect
and honor Blue Bloods, but also you know there are
then there are thousands and thousands of police families in America,

(26:13):
and we want to tell some of those stories too,
and we want to let Danny explore, you know, be
a fish out of water. And what better place to
throw in New Yorker than the middle of Boston. And
you know, I got to experience that fourteen years on
Blue Bloods as of Boston only and in the middle
of New York So this will be a fun turn.

Speaker 2 (26:29):
And we have a question from a listener I think
about the show.

Speaker 16 (26:32):
I was just wondering how long are they filming this
show in Boston and like did it start filming like
yesterday or because I know they were filming like yesterday
or two days ago at Fenway and like in the Commons,
I'm pretty sure I saw like tiktoks, like how long
are they going to be filming there for?

Speaker 2 (26:48):
Because I'd love to see them film What do you.

Speaker 9 (26:51):
Think, Donny, I think we'll be filming in Boston a
lot So here's the thing with you know, people think
it's a personal choice or some that like I didn't
want to film in Boston. I had the best time
in my life filming in Boston. I have the best
time in my life every time I go to Boston.
I'm talking to you, Billy, because you're my friend and
you're from Boston. You know, it's the TV and the

(27:16):
industry has really been beat up from COVID and the strike,
and I think a lot. You know, CBS, for example,
used to make like twenty shows a year. They're making
two this year and new shows, and I'm on one
of them. And it's really dire straits financially, you know,
in the industry. So I'm really fortunate to be making

(27:36):
a show. I'm really fortunate to be able to go
to Boston and work at all. But you know, when
I initially was offered a job, I said, we got
to go to Boston. They said, we can't afford it.
It's basically thirty cents on a dollar to film in
Canada right now, compared to you know, eighty cents on
a dollar, ninety cents from a dollar even with tax plates.
Any but I said, we have to go to Boston.

(27:57):
I can't, can't not go to Boston. And so the
plan right now is to do the interiors up here
and go to Boston every couple of weeks and do
what we did and put a crew together, a Boston crew,
and go down and film all over the city. And
you know, you can't fake what Boston looks like. And
you know, we're bringing Boston actors up here to guests

(28:17):
in the shows, and we're doing everything we can, and hopefully,
in success, we can be in Boston more. That's the
goal is, let's compromise to get the show made. We'll
work outside and do exteriors in Boston, and then you know,
in success, perhaps we can come down there and be
there full time. That would be a dream of all dreams.

Speaker 1 (28:38):
On that note, I've got to ask you, are their
favorite places of yours when you come home to Boston
that you have to go?

Speaker 2 (28:46):
Yes?

Speaker 9 (28:47):
I went to pretty much all of them this weekend.
I went to Nebo y cal Christina, yeah, Carler Christine.
I went to Strega. I went to the ice cream
smith in Dorchester. But they had a whole little ice
cream place. Yes, since I was a kid, they were
Coldstone Before Coldstone, let me tell you. And I always

(29:12):
go down to Plymouth and golf at Plymouth Country Club,
and I eat a few places down there, including Ziggi's
on the Water. I go get a maple walnut ice
cream there as well. I do like ice cream in
case you didn't know, you know. And I'll go to
Almonova of course and check in on Paul and go
eat there. But you know, it's really I'm a foodiet billy,

(29:33):
which again brings me back to, like, why I didn't
do the forward in your book? Can I please do
it in part two?

Speaker 2 (29:39):
Yeah, the sequel. When we come out with part two,
you may want to check it out.

Speaker 1 (29:43):
Your brother does the Ford a Taste of Boston with
the Billy and Jenny. I got to give you a
shout out because this is so cool. It speaks volumes
as what a nice guy you are. I always see
your brother Jimbo with you, and it's great that the
two of you still hang out and still work together.

Speaker 9 (30:00):
There's a lot of love. Contrary to the rumors, you know,
we have a great relationship and really love each other
and all my brothers, you know, and we only have
one sister left. In our family and knowing her, she's
probably listening right now. She loves you so much. Her
name's Tracy, and she's sort of the rock that holds

(30:23):
our family together now that our parents are gone. And
you know, we're very As the years go by, we
get tighter and tighter because I think we know how
precious family is. You know, when you lose so many
family members, that just you got to hold on tighter
to everyone you have. And we're definitely doing that, and
it's a very special bond I share my brother, and

(30:45):
thank you for saying that.

Speaker 1 (30:46):
Well, I got to tell you Almanobe at Ingham Shipyard.
I go there at least two or three times this summer,
hang out with Paul. He's such a nice guy. And
it's named after your mom. And what a beautiful, beautiful
woman she was.

Speaker 9 (31:00):
She was the best. Yeah she uh. You know what
was the best thing about my mom is she did
it on the Wahlbergers TV show off. But she she's
trading us out, you know, no matter how successful we got.
You know, if one of us came over to our
house and we were late for dinner or just late
being there, she had just literally grabbed me by the
ear and yanked me in the door and say, you're

(31:21):
a light now set before it never stopped being who.

Speaker 2 (31:28):
She was before I let you go.

Speaker 1 (31:30):
Any chance at all, we'll see a sequel to Donnie
Loved Jenny.

Speaker 9 (31:35):
You know we're actually not saying something, can you hear me?

Speaker 2 (31:39):
Yeah?

Speaker 9 (31:40):
Go ahead, Yeah, we don't want to do a sequel
to that, per se. But my step son, her son Evan,
is all grown up now and has the most amazing,
eclectic group of friends, and you know, they're all in
various ways on the spectrum and you know, managing to
live these challenging lives. And we're talking about, you know,

(32:02):
doing something in our home focused on them. But Jenny
and I would be a part of like our job
in raising them and managing you know, how we help
them and help them learn life lessons without being overbearing,
but also you know the challenges they face. So we
are discussing it and it's it would also yes, be

(32:22):
away for Jenny and I to put our relationship on TV,
you know, ten years after we got married.

Speaker 1 (32:28):
Wow, I'm so glad, I asked. I'm so glad, I asked.
But I know you're busy up there in Toronto, I
wish you nothing but love.

Speaker 2 (32:34):
Just know that Boston loves you, Donnie, and you're doing
a great job.

Speaker 9 (32:38):
We're proud of you, Billy, thank you, thank you, Boston,
thank you everyone there. Kiss and honestly, and the we
grew up there down there in Boston filming is it
would be really hard to be there full time because
I probably took forty six thousand selfies in just a
few days. The duck boats kept driving by, going Dod'll

(33:01):
take pictures with all the duck boats. It was the
most fun. But I could see, you know, and the
crew was like, oh my god, the city loves you.
And I was like overwhelmed all the love and uh
and and the world to me. And I also was
like every now and the anain the director would look
at me and go, Okay, Donnie, you gotta say no
to Sully and Timmy.

Speaker 2 (33:21):
And let go.

Speaker 1 (33:25):
Well, all we know is that you gave up New
York for Boston and you're back with the Boston Blue.

Speaker 2 (33:30):
Congratulations Johnny. Always a pleasure.

Speaker 9 (33:33):
Thank you all, love you guys.

Speaker 2 (33:34):
I love you much.

Speaker 5 (33:35):
Yeah, we had let him go before people start going crazy.
They love Donnie so hot.

Speaker 10 (33:40):
He's been my crush since third grade kids. One away,
It's the morning wrap up on Billy and Lisa in
the morning.

Speaker 5 (33:49):
All right, welcome in everybody. I uh, I'm looking at Billy,
Lisa and Winnie now and they're all laughing, and I
don't know why I'm in a different studio.

Speaker 2 (33:56):
Take you behind the scene.

Speaker 1 (33:57):
I was banging and pounding and when he was yelling
at me, and I can't stop.

Speaker 2 (34:02):
You know, right round man, it's a jam.

Speaker 5 (34:04):
Oh you a jam into the music? Yeah, love it,
love it, love it. Okay. So a couple of minutes
ago we had Donnie Waalberg on. We spent the whole
week trying to get amuse everywhere. He was all over
Boston shooting the new show Boston Blue. But he finally
made it. And the first thing Billy asked him was,
am I being a bother to you?

Speaker 9 (34:20):
I still think it's an honor. I still take it
as an honor. It's still an amazing treat. And I
will never look at you as being a bother. Billy,
You've always been good to me and the guys and
the new kids, and you were one of the first
people in any position of radio or anything that treated
us with respect and love in that city. And it
will always mean the world to me that you called

(34:41):
me and text me and check in to come on
the show.

Speaker 5 (34:43):
I mean, he's a Boston legend. Yeah, oh, absolute legend.

Speaker 6 (34:47):
I'm so happy you had Donnie on this morning. He
is truly the nicest guy. A year ago, we were
able to meet him at a Celtics game and he
took a selfie with us. Even though the security guard
wouldn't allow it, he came over and that just left
a lasting impression with us forever. Donnie, Boston loves you, Yes.

Speaker 5 (35:11):
We do, and he felt the love this past week
when he was shooting in and around Boston.

Speaker 9 (35:16):
It was the most fun. But I could see, you know,
and the crew was like, oh my god, the city
loves you. And I was like overwhelmed. Every now and
again a director would look at me and go, Okay, Donnie,
you gotta say no to Sully and Timmy.

Speaker 2 (35:30):
It's so true.

Speaker 5 (35:31):
And he also talked about some of the restaurants and
places he goes to when he's here in Boston.

Speaker 9 (35:35):
I went to Nebo Strega, I went to the ice
cream Smith. I always go down to Plymouth and golf
at Plymouth Country Club, and I eat a few places
down there, including Ziggi's on the Water. I go get
a maple walnut ice cream there as well. I do
like ice cream in case.

Speaker 5 (35:52):
Yeah, don't we all? But yeah, it was a great conversation.
It definitely felt like he felt the love. Definitely know,
not just for all of Boston, Boston, but specifically Billy
and Donnie. Yeah, I mean they go way back.

Speaker 17 (36:03):
That was an amazing interview Billy with Donnie. Thank you,
thank you, thank you. It just felt like we're all
sitting in a living room just to chatting. So it
was incredibly, incredibly awesome.

Speaker 5 (36:15):
And finally he did get Sirius for a minute. I
want to bring attention to this about the TV and
film industry and how much they were affected by COVID
and the strike. And he dropped a fun fact, a
fact I should say that I didn't know. None of
us knew about Boston Blue.

Speaker 9 (36:31):
The TV and moly industry has really been beat up
from COVID and the strike, and I think a lot.
You know, CBS, for example, used to make like twenty
shows a year. They're making two this year, and new
shows and I'm on one of them.

Speaker 2 (36:44):
That's crazy. Yeah, only two shows this year, has one.
They're canceling shows too. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (36:50):
So he talked about he's in Toronto. Now he's going
to be in Chicago, but then he's coming back to Boston,
so he's going to be in and around the city
so you can maybe catch some of the filming.

Speaker 2 (36:59):
And they've got another biggest residency coming up too.

Speaker 5 (37:01):
Oh yeah, November and then again in February in Vegas.

Speaker 11 (37:05):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (37:05):
Meantime, we've got a big show coming up. The Mighty
One is at the door, so let's let him in.
