It's just a great start to my day on kids Runaway.

Speaker 3 (00:09):
Well, good morning everybody, and a happy Monday to you.
It is Sinco de Mayo day today. Here we go
mea money. Is there a reason I don't have a
margarita sitting in front of me?

Speaker 4 (00:29):
No?

Speaker 3 (00:29):
I mean it is Cinco Demayo. Shots all around.

Speaker 4 (00:34):
Tila, I don't think I need to kill on me.

Speaker 5 (00:37):
Or if you don't drink tacos, ye tacos, sinko demio.

Speaker 3 (00:41):
Let's go. You got to get in the mood man, Okay, Lisa,
we have to talk about the rain. Are you kidding me?

Speaker 6 (00:50):
All week well sort of like several inches that's what
I heard, thank you.

Speaker 7 (00:58):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (00:59):
So, first of all, the weekend turned out to be
much nicer than it was supposed to be.

Speaker 8 (01:04):
Right, it was actually gorgeous.

Speaker 4 (01:05):
Shocked.

Speaker 3 (01:06):
I was shocked.

Speaker 8 (01:07):
It was Saturday summer like.

Speaker 3 (01:09):
Yeah, it was like humid hot.

Speaker 8 (01:11):
It was awesome.

Speaker 3 (01:12):
Yeah, awesome. Well you didn't feel that up there in
North Countin.

Speaker 5 (01:16):
I mean it was hot, but it was poured the
whole afternoon. My son's baseball game got Saturday on the
first inning.

Speaker 8 (01:23):
In certain spots.

Speaker 5 (01:24):
Yeah, and then it went away, and then it came
back around five, it was pouring.

Speaker 3 (01:28):
We went out to dinner.

Speaker 8 (01:29):
I saw a beautiful rainbow.

Speaker 7 (01:31):
Me too.

Speaker 8 (01:31):
Saturday, heading into Boston.

Speaker 3 (01:33):
It was a beach day in Charlestown, that's all. Line.

Speaker 8 (01:36):
Definitely was on Saturday.

Speaker 3 (01:38):
And then yesterday was much nicer than expected. Then the
heavy rain came late in the day.

Speaker 9 (01:43):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (01:43):
I was definitely hot and humid in the morning.

Speaker 6 (01:46):
And then yeah, that sea breeze. You know what my
sun Max always talks about the wind. It's the rain,
the wind shift. Yeah, you could feel it yesterday.

Speaker 3 (01:54):
So it's going to rain today, Tomorrow, Wednesday and Thursday.

Speaker 8 (01:58):
But you know what, Mother's Day looks good on Sunday.

Speaker 10 (02:00):
Oh god, let's just look for Sunday, Saturday rain most likely, Yeah, showers,
scattered showers.

Speaker 5 (02:07):
I can't cut my gras. My grass is so tall.
I haven't been able to cut it.

Speaker 8 (02:11):
Same with us. Oh my god, it's so high.

Speaker 3 (02:14):
And you know what cracks me up. I was watching
the weather people this morning, the local weather people. Every
time they talk about the rain, they say, and it's
much needed. Call me crazy, hasn't it rained a lot
and we're still in a drought. How much rain does
it take to get us out of a drought. They're
just trying to make you feel better. No, they keep

(02:34):
saying that. No, it's oh yes, and boy do we
need the rain? Who does? What are they talking about?

Speaker 5 (02:42):
It went from raining every weekend to being nice on
the weekdays. Now it's rainy all week Oh you han
on the weekend man, New England.

Speaker 3 (02:51):
Oh boy, you know what you need. It's a good poncho,
you know, you just keep it in the car starts
raining again, throw the poncho.

Speaker 5 (02:58):
You should You should have seen it. We were at
the baseball fields Saturday when the yeah, the rain came down.
Oh my god, it drenched us so bad. My daughter's
iPad ruined. Yeah, oh you because out of nowhere, and
then we were trying to get her, you know, covered up,
and the iPad lost its life.

Speaker 3 (03:17):
Well you know what they say about rainy days and mondays.

Speaker 8 (03:26):
You know now as it is, it's the met galap.
Oh wow, sink of to my and the metcalps.

Speaker 3 (03:31):
Okay, this is the twentieth consecutive year that you said
you were going to the met Galap. Yeah, it's not happening.

Speaker 8 (03:37):
This year is a yeah.

Speaker 3 (03:40):
Every year. Oh Lisa is going to be broadcasting live
from the met galap No, no, no, not happening yet,
so own don't forget. Wednesday is the deadline for the
Real I D. So many people are still confused about
the Real I D.

Speaker 1 (03:54):
I say, don't worry about it. If you have a passport,
you have a passport, don't worry about it. You can
still fly and do everything you need to do. Yeah,
the passport.

Speaker 6 (04:02):
Let's get everybody, you know, let's get the frenzy out
of the way.

Speaker 8 (04:05):
Yeah, and then maybe in a couple of months we'll
do it.

Speaker 3 (04:08):
Yeah, there's no rush. Do you not have yours?

Speaker 8 (04:10):
I don't have mine. I have a passport, so I
don't have that.

Speaker 3 (04:13):
Mine has a yellow star in the corner. That's how
you know. Okay, what are you bragging that you're the
only one that has one? Well, I didn't pay producer
Riley has the she does everything perfect.

Speaker 1 (04:23):
I didn't pay one hundred and eight dollars for a
passport to have to go rush to get my real idea.

Speaker 8 (04:28):
And I just got my new license last year, so
you know what. And I like my picture on my license.

Speaker 4 (04:34):
Oh okay, yeah, you the change your picture for the
real ID.

Speaker 6 (04:37):
No, I'm just saying, like my new picture that I
had taken last year. You know, usually your pictures kind
of aren't good that great. Yeah, this one actually wasn't
that bad.

Speaker 3 (04:45):
You know, it's weird.

Speaker 8 (04:46):
How would I want to change it?

Speaker 3 (04:47):
I got a new license about three months ago, and
it's not a real ID because you have to go in. Yeah,
I just get it online. It came in the mail.

Speaker 8 (04:55):
Right, you can do that.

Speaker 3 (04:56):
Yeah, but here's you know what. You cannot go without
a real life ID. A courthouse right passport's not good enough.

Speaker 4 (05:04):
Oh, thank you for reminding me, because I have Jerry
duty next monday.

Speaker 3 (05:07):
Oh just tell them you don't have the real you
don't have a real idea, you can't go in.

Speaker 4 (05:11):
Yeah, but then it's gonna get pushed back again.

Speaker 3 (05:13):
I just want to get letting you in.

Speaker 4 (05:15):
No, but you can bring your passport.

Speaker 6 (05:17):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (05:17):
I don't think a passport.

Speaker 4 (05:19):
Passport works you in, works you in for anything.

Speaker 5 (05:23):
But you called the night before you might not even
have to go in. I feel like most times they
just they say no, yeah.

Speaker 1 (05:28):
Put me in, because this is the third time they've
called me and called me off, so just put me
in so I don't have to get called.

Speaker 6 (05:34):
I was called twice within a year, back to back years,
and both times I didn't have to go in, and
that was like fifteen years ago, and I haven't been called.

Speaker 5 (05:42):
I don't know if anyone wants winning on a jury.
I would never want her sitting on a jury judging
on me. Oh my god, by the way, I would.
You don't want me on your jury. I'd have you
guilty before you even took a seat.

Speaker 3 (05:57):
I've never been called for jerry jury.

Speaker 4 (06:00):
You know, they don't really look for your judgment.

Speaker 3 (06:03):
No, you're not allowed in any kind of legal situation.
That's okay with me.

Speaker 2 (06:10):
From the Planet Fitness Kiss one Away Studios. Boy, you're
back with Villy and Lisa in the morning on Kiss.

Speaker 3 (06:18):
Hey guys, so welcome back. So we have a game
one seal to Nicks in the Garden tonight. It's also
Cinco de Mayo today and justin. You want to get
a talkback or two in?

Speaker 5 (06:25):
Yeah, A lot of people think you can only leave
talkbacks during the show from six to ten AM.

Speaker 3 (06:30):
That's not true.

Speaker 5 (06:30):
You can leave a talkback anytime twenty four hours a day,
especially if you're catching up on the podcast, which we
do appreciate.

Speaker 9 (06:36):
Oh it's one thirty five am. I'm obviously listening to
reruns of Billy and Lisa in the morning because it
brings me comfort. Anyway, what is the best thing you
guys have used Chat to BT for. I just discovered
It's like amazing, Like you can ask I'm going crazy

(06:57):
with it. So have you guys used it in? Like,
what have you used it for?

Speaker 3 (07:01):
Have you used it least?

Speaker 11 (07:03):
Uh?

Speaker 6 (07:03):
Yeah, you can. You can put prompts in. My son
Max helps me. So like, if you have a speech
to write or something, you can put prompts in and
it can give you sort of a framework.

Speaker 8 (07:14):
To work off of and then you can make it
your own.

Speaker 3 (07:16):
Wow.

Speaker 6 (07:16):
So it almost like it creates a nice speech outline
for you.

Speaker 3 (07:19):
So I've used it for that, Okay.

Speaker 5 (07:21):
Yeah, I use GROC, which is the Twitter version of
chat GPT. It's just because I'm onto it, alan X,
And what do you use it for?

Speaker 3 (07:28):
You can just you can.

Speaker 5 (07:29):
Ask them anything, to ask anything, and it'll give you
a detailed explanation. So I don't use Google Search anymore.
I use GROC okay, I don't know how to do something.
If anything, you can take a picture of something and
it will it will look it up and tell you
what it is.

Speaker 3 (07:41):
It's really cool. Should I have GROC in my phone?

Speaker 5 (07:44):
You can or chat GPT, I can download it on
your phone. You can literally ask anything, especially on the
boat yeah, boat questions, you can. You can ask it
anything and they'll give you the answer, like how deep
is the water right now beneath me? Okay, possibly, okay, yeah,
chat GEPT. You gotta get on it, all right. I'm
gonna do that the minute I get off the air
this morning. I'm gonna get GROCK and chat what is it?

(08:05):
Chat TB GPT chat GBT all right, g g PT,
Wait waitning GPT, just hit the button now.

Speaker 8 (08:15):
The entertainment update with the Billy Copsta.

Speaker 3 (08:19):
Hey, grok, how you doing? Thanks? Thank you Bill. Here
we go, Celts in the next game one in the
TD Garden tonight, seven o'clock tip off. By the way,
Coach Joe Mizzola right here.

Speaker 12 (08:31):
In your physical series, uh, you know, we'll come down
to the margins. You have to be able to phone
and rebound, take care of the ball, execute and be
able to get the different stuff defensively because of their
ability to put pressure in the rim and get great shots.

Speaker 3 (08:44):
All right, Celts in the next By the way, Game
two will be Wednesday night again here in Boston. Several
developments in the Bill Belichick Jordan the hot mess uh.
Former NFL writer Peter King actually came out of retirement
to comment on Bill.

Speaker 7 (08:59):
This is a guy, guy who owned every room he
ever walked into, and now he's got a twenty four
year old muse telling him what to do or telling
or trying to control situations that quite frankly, she has
nothing to do with or should have nothing to do with.
You know, Bill's got to get a hold of himself here.

(09:22):
He's got to get a hold of this situation. This
is embarrassing. It's totally embarrassing for a guy who's as
great at his job as he is.

Speaker 3 (09:34):
By the way, Peter King from the Boston area, came
out of retirement for that. Now Saturday Night Live had
some fun with the Belichick mess.

Speaker 13 (09:43):
So this order will make it socially acceptable for a
man in his seventies to date a twenty four year old.

Speaker 3 (09:50):
That's right, We're calling it the Belichick law. We're gonna
make girlfriends young again. Okay, old men can nowdate far
younger women. We like that. It's hot, but in reverse.

Speaker 12 (10:02):
It's quite disgusting, right.

Speaker 3 (10:04):
Very dateline. You know, did you see Belichick's girlfriend? She's
pretty oud? Right, Yes, she is a beautiful creature. God,
you're creepy. This is why we don't hang out outside
of Yeah, that's the Miller guy. He's real crazy, real
crazy in real life. So justin, was it.

Speaker 5 (10:26):
You that sent me the Bill Belichick? Well, but Bill
Belichick put out a statement officially this weekend. Yeah, if
you heard it, you might not have. But if you
have not, I've got it right here.

Speaker 11 (10:35):
I was trying to take a second to address the
rumors swirling around about my interview the other day. Tell
you all the truth about my relationship with Jordan. You
hate it because I've made it in life and you haven't.
I've got eight Super Bowl rings and you've got none. Anyways,
everyone saw the interviews. That bum reporter was supposed to
come talk about my book, not my dating life, and
Jordan shut his ass down, just like Malcolm Butler shut
down mister Unlimited on the goal line in Super Bowl

(10:58):
forty nine.

Speaker 9 (10:59):
She was just doing job.

Speaker 11 (11:00):
But you all want to make something about it. It's pathetic.
So please, for the love of Christ, can you all
shut the hell.

Speaker 3 (11:05):
Up about it.

Speaker 11 (11:05):
I'll see you guys on the football field.

Speaker 3 (11:08):
Now. For five seconds you had me with that, right,
and then I'm like, wait a minute, it's Ai.

Speaker 6 (11:13):
No, he's Billy sent it to me over the weekend
and you thought it was really well we did after yeah.

Speaker 3 (11:20):
Yeah, wow. Ai really scares me. Yeah, it scares me. Anyway,
we were reminded this weekend that the Jordan madness started
a while back. Remember she was standing in the background
of that Duncan spot. Yes, that had Ben Affleck and
Tom Brady and Bill Belichick. Reports this weekend said, way

(11:42):
back then, she told the people at Duncan, if you
want Bill Belichick, you have to put me in the commercial.

Speaker 6 (11:50):
I mean yeah, she's head of Bill Belichick Productions.

Speaker 8 (11:53):
Now okay, well, well it worked. I mean she was
in the commercial.

Speaker 3 (11:58):
It's it's scary. I am just afraid for Bill. Something's
going on. I don't think he sees well the reality.

Speaker 6 (12:08):
His book comes out this week and supposedly they've been
in talks with the former Bears VP of communications this
guy Brandon Faber to bring him into the fold at
UNCA to sort of.

Speaker 8 (12:18):
Help with with the bills.

Speaker 6 (12:21):
Everything, sort of with the you know, the unc thing,
and then the book.

Speaker 3 (12:26):
So the book is the least of his problems. You
know what, Bill, stop hate.

Speaker 11 (12:31):
You hate it because I've made it in life and
you haven't.

Speaker 3 (12:37):
I don't know if you caught Saturday Night Live the
other night, but Quentin Brunson was the guest host and
Sabrina Carpenter popped into the monologue. They did a skit
about short people.

Speaker 14 (12:49):
I mean, you were talking about being short, so I
thought i'd stop by.

Speaker 8 (12:53):
Yeah, something one shorty to another anything.

Speaker 4 (12:57):
When you read short does it just taste like rim?
I never thought about it like.

Speaker 5 (13:03):
That, but yeah, wait, here's a question for you.

Speaker 8 (13:06):
When you reach short stories, do they feel like novels?

Speaker 12 (13:09):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (13:10):
I wander hend but being sure it isn't all bad, No,
of course not.

Speaker 3 (13:15):
Yeah. It was hilarious so funny. Yeah. Benson Boone was
the musical guest and this weekend Walter Goggins from The
White Lotus will be the guest host and The Arcade
Fire will be the musical guests.

Speaker 6 (13:29):
They are Chris Martin from Coldplay. That's his favorite band.
I thought so Arcade Fire for a long time.

Speaker 3 (13:34):
All Right, meantime, the met Gala is tonight. Lisa down
to it, and all I know is, as long as
I've known you, you've wanted to go to the met Gala.

Speaker 15 (13:43):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (13:44):
I don't think that that's ever going to happen.

Speaker 6 (13:46):
But yeah, it's the first Monday and May and it's
a benefit for the Metropolitan Museum of Art and a
Win tour hosts it. Lebron James will be there, Lewis Hamilton,
Hamilton and the race car driver Andre three thousand. It's
super fine men swear. That's sort of the fashion oh
cool theme this year. And yeah, I'm saying they're hoping

(14:08):
that Taylor and Travis will show up.

Speaker 8 (14:12):
Speculation.

Speaker 3 (14:13):
What happened to Andre three thousand?

Speaker 4 (14:15):
He just conducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Speaker 3 (14:18):
For one song.

Speaker 4 (14:20):
They had a whole catalog.

Speaker 5 (14:21):
They did, take a step back to its one of
the greatest all totally.

Speaker 3 (14:27):
He made a flute album recently.

Speaker 8 (14:29):
I love that.

Speaker 3 (14:30):
A flute album.

Speaker 1 (14:31):
Yeah, Okay, he's doing okay, don't worry about He'll be Okay.

Speaker 3 (14:35):
I'm glad to see my man Andre three thousand.

Speaker 6 (14:38):
Is still and Williams is a part of this whole thing,
and asap, Rocky Soriano will probably be on that main man.

Speaker 3 (14:45):
Yeah, this is an incredible story. Police in Brazil busting
up a plot to attack the Lady Godgat concert, which
by the way, was on Copa Copa Cabana Beach. Two
teenagers are in custom and reports say they planned to
attack with Molotov cocktails and explosive devices. There were two

(15:07):
and a half million people there for the Gaga concert,
which by the way, was a free concert.

Speaker 6 (15:13):
It was it was paid for by the city to
kind of revitalize the area. Record breaking numbers, but Lady
Gaga didn't know anything about it, no, until.

Speaker 3 (15:21):
After the fact. Yeah, and Jelly Roll has a new
collaboration with Alex Warren, a song called Bloodline. They debuted
it at the Stagecoach Festival. Jelly Roll is really doing
a lot lately. He's everywhere.

Speaker 8 (15:33):
He's so talented.

Speaker 3 (15:34):
And Alex Warren, by the way, is going to be
at the road Runner at Boston Landing this Wednesday night.
And the movie Thunderbolts won the box office this weekend
seventy six million justin you went to see Sinners. How
was it?

Speaker 16 (15:49):
Oh?

Speaker 5 (15:49):
I loved it. I loved it, loved it, loved it.
It is a horror movie. It's about vampires. But very
well done. Ryan Coogler did a great job. Great script
and great acting. By the way, Michael B. Jordan two
twin brothers, you know, both rolled obviously. Yeah, fantastic. I
give it a eight out of ten.

Speaker 3 (16:06):
Wow. Okay, very violent, very violent. Yeah, just be wary
of that. Yeah, Sinners was second over the weekend thirty
three million. Don't forget seven ten. We've got tickets for
John Mulaney. Nine ten. We'll look at a thousand dollars
to give away. And we're brought to you by the
ninety nine Restaurant. Celebrate Mother's Day at the ninety nine
Restaurant and treat mom to delicious brand new menu specials

(16:28):
made especially for Mom, like herb garl like philet mignon,
lemon caper swordfish, or their famous colossal or hot buttered
lobster roll. You gotta love the knuts. And there you go.

Speaker 11 (16:40):
That bum reporter was supposed to come talk about my book,
not my dating life, and Jordan shut his ass down from.

Speaker 2 (16:45):
The Planet's Fitness Kiss one O eight Studios. We're back
with a Villy and Lisa in the morning on Kiss
on eight.

Speaker 3 (16:53):
Hey, guys, so welcome back. Happy Monday, Happy Cinco Demayo,
Go Celtics Game one TD Guard tonight the Nick seven
o'clock a tip off. Oh and right now we'll go
to pair of tickets for John Mulaney who's coming to town. Okay,
and we need a caller twenty five at six one,
seven nine. Wait and caller twenty five. By the way,

(17:13):
you will need a keyword, and the keyword is taco.

Speaker 8 (17:21):
That's a good one.

Speaker 3 (17:21):
Valve Taco is the keyword.

Speaker 5 (17:25):
Justin you have some talkbacks in there, Yeah, I do
a lot of people checking in on a Monday. It's
rainy out, it's crappy, so why not listen and join
the show. You can do it on the talkback Mike
on the iHeartRadio app, which is free to download. Just
look out for that little microphone button that you press
and you can send your message right in morning.

Speaker 15 (17:41):
Guys, this is Katie from Virginia. I had a baby
back in January, so I haven't left a talk back
in a while, but I've still been listening and today
is the end of my maternity leave and my first
day back to work, so I might be crying in
my classroom all day.

Speaker 3 (17:59):
Have a good day, guys, but by Yeah, that's a
tough one, right, the first day you leave.

Speaker 8 (18:03):
Your baby, I remember it.

Speaker 6 (18:05):
Well, it's that God, you just worry so much and
then everything's fine.

Speaker 3 (18:10):
Right, Yeah, let's think about kids.

Speaker 5 (18:12):
Babies, children, you know when you sometimes they drive you
crazy and you're like, I just need a break, and
then you get a break and you miss them.

Speaker 8 (18:19):
Yes, it's all you think about.

Speaker 13 (18:20):
Yeah, good morning everyone in radio land. The welder here,
the very lucky husband of Betsy, the plumber, the most
beautiful plumber in the world. And one year ago today
she was at mon Auburn Hospital. The wonderful nurses there
helped her deliver our beautiful baby girl. Eat it so
happy birthday, eat it. We love you very much. She
loves kiss one away and just like Billy, she loves

(18:41):
using chat CBS. Happy Birthday, GPT.

Speaker 5 (18:49):
I still don't get it, Like, yeah, it's AI. It's
it's basically like a like a Google search, but more,
you know, more in depth.

Speaker 3 (18:56):
You know what's funny with Ort's targeted. If I want
an answer to anything, I just asked the phone and
I get it so well, you can ask chat ept.
You just need the app. Well, why can't I just
ask the phone the way I do now? Chat EPT
is better.

Speaker 1 (19:08):
Billy, It's fine. I don't use I refuse to use it.
So there you go.

Speaker 3 (19:12):
Google it. Yeah, okay.

Speaker 5 (19:13):
And by the way, I should call Betsy the plumber.
I should have called her last week. I had a
pipe horst in my house and water pouring down. I
didn't get it fixed up.

Speaker 3 (19:22):
But that's good when you think of it. To have
a plumber and a welder in the same house, Oh
my god, it's perfect. Do they do jobs together, because
think of it. If you have a leaky pipe, you
need it welded. You need to seal it up. You
never want a leaky pipe. Bill Happy Monday.

Speaker 8 (19:39):
It's the Bay of the South.

Speaker 16 (19:41):
Ben. Let me give you an update on that net
gala tonight. The theme is well dressed men of color.
Back in the day, they were known as a dandy.
Now it can be any well dressed. Mean Now, the
most well dressed me and you have there is mister
Billy Costa. I would call him a dandy. He should
go the netball tonight. Billy, you're such a D and D.

(20:03):
Have a great day.

Speaker 6 (20:03):
Everyone there is just full of knowledge.

Speaker 3 (20:08):
I know he knows everything. Why haven't we ever gone
to the met Kid?

Speaker 8 (20:12):
It's the hardest ticket to get. Literally, you have to
be invited.

Speaker 3 (20:15):
This is the bill. At least show No tickets.

Speaker 6 (20:17):
Are seventy five thousand dollars apiece. Yeah, forget Yeah, wait,
it's a FUNDRAI is there?

Speaker 3 (20:23):
Wait? At least you have to be invited, but then
you have to pay.

Speaker 4 (20:25):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (20:25):
I mean it's one of.

Speaker 6 (20:26):
Those things where it's kind of like if you're on
the list, you're on Anna Wintour's list, and then you're
invited to pay seventy five thousand.

Speaker 3 (20:33):
Five thousand person.

Speaker 6 (20:35):
Yeah, and a lot of companies spend a lot more
if they buy a table and they're a sponsor.

Speaker 3 (20:41):
Oh my god. Yeah. Oh well, Bill, you gotta go.

Speaker 16 (20:44):
Billy, you're such a D and D.

Speaker 3 (20:48):
Let's go to Cheryl. Cheryl's on the line. Good morning, Cheryl,
Good morning, Cheryl. Where are you calling from?

Speaker 17 (20:57):
I'm calling from Northborough?

Speaker 3 (20:58):
Okay. Is considered one of the Burrows, I think so, yeah,
because one of them is not one of the Borrows.
There's Marlborough, Southborough, north Borough, Westborough, Middleborough, but one of them,
for some reason, has been excluded from the Burroughs. And
I don't know why. But Cheryl, you are callin twenty five.
Do you know the keyword taco taco as it is

(21:22):
sinko demayo today. You did say taco, not chucko.

Speaker 17 (21:26):
Right, I know, I just say taco. I'm just so excited.
I have tried for years to get through. I cannot
believe that I was twenty five.

Speaker 3 (21:35):
Well you are twenty five, and now you're going to
see John mullaney. But hold on because producer Riley is
going to give you all your instructions. Do not hang up. Okay,
thank you, There you go. It is sinko demayo. That's
why the keyword was taco.

Speaker 11 (21:50):
Hey, everyone's eating tacos outside Bill's office.

Speaker 3 (21:54):
Did you think that's some information I would like.

Speaker 8 (21:56):
To know, Lisa all the money.

Speaker 3 (21:58):
Yes, hey, guys, welcome back. So it is Cinco de
Mayo today, and that, of course begs the question, what
is Cinco de Mayo and what are we celebrating? Okay, uh,
and I've got it right here in front of me.
Justin was kind enough to princident. Okay, all right, listen
very carefully. Before Cinco de Mayo became associated with tacos

(22:21):
and margaritas, which is how we tend to celebrate here,
the days served as a reminder of Mexico's triumph over
the French.

Speaker 6 (22:30):
Right the Battle of Puebla. But it's basically just a
holiday in the United States.

Speaker 3 (22:36):
Yeah, like I've been, they do.

Speaker 6 (22:39):
But it's more it's not like it is here. It's observed,
but it's not as like they'll.

Speaker 3 (22:45):
Go out and get plasters.

Speaker 8 (22:46):
Yeah tacos, right, yeah, Now this was put on by
the you know in the United States, by the beer companies.

Speaker 3 (22:51):
Yeah, it's like Valentine's Day bill. It's all about candy.
Yeah yeah, And Cinco de Mayo is all about getting
totally hammered. And I don't understand that now. Listen, I've
been to Mexico several times. I've even been to Mexico
on Cinco DeMaio. There were no celebrations going on. People
weren't piling into the bars, you know, to have ten drinks.

Speaker 6 (23:15):
Well, I have to say, like our weather's really bad today,
so I know, people I've talked to people over the
weekend that are going out and celebrating.

Speaker 8 (23:23):
But I think it would have been much bigger if
the weather had been better.

Speaker 18 (23:26):
Here, good morning, kiss went away. We are having my
daughter over tonight. She has her own mobile bartending business.
She's coming over to make Margarita's the whole family. She
does an amazing job. Check her out on Instagram bev voyage.

Speaker 3 (23:46):
What do you mean so we can have her over
to make Margarita's mobile bartender?

Speaker 16 (23:51):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (23:51):
Yeah, she comes to the house. That's good to know
if you celebrate a lot or entertain a lot at
the house, to know somebody to come over, come over
and handle the bar.

Speaker 5 (24:00):
That's a big deal. Yeah, oh we need that number.
I mean, I love tacos. I don't I don't really
need a specific data to eat them.

Speaker 8 (24:05):
Yeah, but I'm not a big Margarita person.

Speaker 11 (24:09):
No me.

Speaker 3 (24:09):
I can't drink tequila. I'm a lightweight. I have like
two SIPs of tequila and I'm bloopy and I'm making
no sense. Like, but again, bars all across the city, Okay,
will be celebrating Sinko Demaiyo, and they're all anticipating huge
crowds whose only mission today is to get drunk, and

(24:33):
they don't. To my knowledge, I don't think most people
are heading out to celebrate Sinco Demayo in this region.

Speaker 5 (24:40):
Know what they're celebrating. It's just the day doesn't matter.
It's just it doesn't matter. It's just a day to
get we get together with your friends and family.

Speaker 3 (24:47):
And no, the woman that just sent you the talk back,
she's having people over tonight. Yeah, she was plugging professional bartender.
She was plugging her daughter's business. But come on, by
the way, great plug.

Speaker 8 (24:58):
And that too creativity.

Speaker 3 (25:01):
Let's go to Kelly online too.

Speaker 5 (25:03):
But again, the mission is to drink more than you
normally would. Okay, let's go to Kelly online too. I
think it's a big day, not just for Sinko Demayo,
but for something else.

Speaker 3 (25:11):
Okay, Kelly, good morning. Where are you calling from? Kelly?

Speaker 17 (25:15):
Good morning, morning crew, I'm calling from HUMPSTERD. Yeah, and
Sinka Demayo happens to my husband, Brian's birthday. And I've
been so fortunate to be with him for thirty seven
years or high school sweethearts. He's an amazing husband, an
amazing dad. I just want to wish him happy birthday.

Speaker 19 (25:33):
I love you, Brian.

Speaker 3 (25:34):
Okay, but what's the bigger celebration in your family today?
Is it Brian's birthday or is it Sinko DeMaio?

Speaker 17 (25:42):
Oh definitely Brian's birthday. But you know, we sprinkle in
a little tequila there you go.

Speaker 3 (25:47):
Yeah, yeah, it's all good. Yeah, but I'm still fascinated
because no one really knows what the day is or
what we're celebrating. Like, I don't think there are many
people listening to us right now that are paying tribute
to the Mexican Armies French. Yeah, I don't think they know.

Speaker 6 (26:09):
It's like a nice celebration of the of Mexican American culture, right,
I mean that's, you know, the broader thing.

Speaker 8 (26:15):
Yeah, you're right, it's just a day of drinking.

Speaker 5 (26:17):
And have a margarita with some tequila. Except Billy, I'm
already loopy.

Speaker 2 (26:23):
Now it's topic time with Billy and Lisa in the morning.

Speaker 3 (26:27):
Hey guys, So welcome back and welcome to topic time,
and we're talking about Cinco de Mayo. We're trying to
understand it a little bit more. We don't quite know
why it's such a big celebration at bars and restaurants
and I've got more information on that, but right now
we have to go to Chris, who's in Boston but
is from Mexico. Okay, Chris, good morning, Hi, good morning,

(26:51):
good morning. So Chris, educate us on Cinco de Mayo
and what we're celebrating here.

Speaker 19 (26:57):
Well, Sinko de Mayo. As you said, you were right,
it's just a battle in the state of Puela that
we won against the French. We don't celebrate it that
much in Mexico. It will be like if you nationwide
celebrated the Battle of Lexington Park.

Speaker 6 (27:19):
Yeah, that's actually a really good, really good analogy.

Speaker 8 (27:23):
Yeah, it's ceremonial.

Speaker 19 (27:26):
And I explained this. I explained this to my friends,
my work colleagues. You know, like you don't get the
day off, you can go out and celebrate. For us
is like that. I've been living here for twenty seven years,
so I get it. People they always ask me, like,

(27:47):
are you going to have a party or something. It's like, no,
it's a Monday, it's just a workday.

Speaker 9 (27:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (27:54):
Well that's so what you're saying is if we were
in Mexico right now, most people but would look at
us weird. If we said, hey, you're ready to celebrate.

Speaker 19 (28:04):
Yeah, I mean we do have the day off. Nobody
works today, but nobody is celebrating. Yeah, like, you know,
it just it's observed. You know in school, they they
do you know about it history class.

Speaker 3 (28:21):
It's observed.

Speaker 19 (28:22):
Yeah, yeah, it's a big deal.

Speaker 3 (28:25):
Well, Chris, thank you. I love it that we go
to topic time and immediately we get an expert.

Speaker 5 (28:29):
That's really that's interesting. They get the day off, but
there's no celebration. There's no drinking and partying.

Speaker 3 (28:34):
Yeah, Like I'm looking at a line right now. It
says companies, especially beer companies and restaurants, began commercializing the
holiday back in the eighties, offering customers Sinco Demayo specials and.

Speaker 8 (28:48):
Started out in California.

Speaker 3 (28:49):
That's right.

Speaker 5 (28:50):
Yeah, and you know who they called in Boston, Leeds
to help promote their products.

Speaker 3 (28:54):
Right. The lobster taco is great all year long.

Speaker 6 (28:57):
There is.

Speaker 3 (28:57):
My favorite is the tender pork takomed by a car hera.

Speaker 10 (29:04):
I was just wondering if you, in honor of to
go to you can play that clip of Lisa saying
that she knows everything about.

Speaker 8 (29:12):
Thanks.

Speaker 3 (29:13):
Yeah, it was only a matter of time before this
came up.

Speaker 8 (29:15):
My parents have a house in Mexico.

Speaker 6 (29:17):
So you guys just need to be quiet because I
know everything about Mexico.

Speaker 4 (29:21):
Okay, all right, that is not that we know why
that happened, No, we did.

Speaker 8 (29:28):
I was poked and.

Speaker 3 (29:29):
Prodi provoked why. I don't remember.

Speaker 4 (29:31):
It was years ago.

Speaker 10 (29:33):
Okay, my back was up against the wall. Okay, but
be clear, you know anything we need to know, so
we should just be asking you.

Speaker 4 (29:44):
We talked about it.

Speaker 6 (29:45):
I knew that. I knew that it wasn't really much
of a big deal in Mexico. It's just, you know,
it's beer companies here in in the States.

Speaker 8 (29:51):
My parents got a house in Mexico.

Speaker 6 (29:53):
You guys just need to be quiet because I know
everything about Mexico.

Speaker 8 (29:58):
Actually, what we should be talking about.

Speaker 4 (30:00):
Over the edge. That's a put her over the edge.
It was the Mexico run conversation memories.

Speaker 14 (30:07):
Yeah, he wants to a fun fact about Mexico and holidays.
So you know how we celebrate Sinco to Maaya over here, Well,
in Mexico they celebrate Saint Patrick's Day. And there's a
really interesting reason for that. And look up the history
of the Saint Patrick's Great Brigade in the Spanish American War.

Speaker 9 (30:27):
Wow. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (30:28):
And by the way, both Cinco DeMaio and Saint Patrick's
Day are celebrated around liquor. Yeah right. Think about Saint
Patrick's Day. Everybody goes to Southee the Southea Parade, and
everybody just has to have a lot to drink.

Speaker 8 (30:43):
So it's either liquor or candy.

Speaker 4 (30:44):
Yeah yeah.

Speaker 3 (30:46):
Think about most of our holidays in this country are
either about candy or liquor. Yeah. Wow, We're a simple nation,
we really are. Really.

Speaker 15 (30:55):
My ex husband is from Guatemala and when we met,
I was in high school and I had had no
idea that Sinco to Mayo was.

Speaker 4 (31:02):
I didn't know what it was.

Speaker 15 (31:03):
So I called him up one day and I was like,
salsinko to Mayo. I was thinking that I was all cute,
and he was just like thanks, but I'm not Mexican.

Speaker 17 (31:15):
That's funny them can relate making the last seven thousand
decisions on what people are eating.

Speaker 20 (31:21):
I'm celebrating an easy dinner with Mexican takeout.

Speaker 3 (31:27):
C Yeah, there you go, So you know what I'm willing.
Let's just all get Mexican takeout.

Speaker 5 (31:33):
So that's what I would do, you know, I would
You can hit Chipotle or any any any kind of
Mexican place.

Speaker 3 (31:40):
For all I know. My wife Michelle is planning a
Mexican celebrations. Actually she might be.

Speaker 8 (31:45):
Well, she likes tequila and she.

Speaker 3 (31:47):
Likes salsa dancing. Do those two go hand in hand?

Speaker 8 (31:50):
I think he can make it work.

Speaker 3 (31:51):
Okay.

Speaker 5 (31:52):
Does she like Mexican food loves it? Okay, then she's
definitely going to celebrate.

Speaker 8 (31:57):
Well, it's easy to be gluten free eating.

Speaker 3 (31:59):
Yeah, well there's a difference. She could you either get
the corn or the flower tacra. The corn, she does
the corn if you're gluten free. Yeah, and she likes
tequila loves yeah. Oh, have mercy.

Speaker 9 (32:16):
Make sure close.

Speaker 4 (32:19):
Hope yes, it does.

Speaker 6 (32:21):
One can only hope ry Lisa kiss so justin for starters.

Speaker 3 (32:27):
In the seven o'clock hour, we gave away a pair
of tickets see John Mulaney.

Speaker 5 (32:30):
Yeah, he's coming to the block waying this September. We
had tickets this morning. Congrats to Sheryl and I love this.
She's been trying to win for years and she finally
got through.

Speaker 18 (32:38):
So excited.

Speaker 17 (32:39):
I have tried for years to get through I cannot
believe that I was twenty five.

Speaker 5 (32:44):
So you never stop giving, never give up, No, never
stop trying. And tomorrow morning at seven ten, we'll have
more tickets for John Mulaney. Also this uh, since the
show began, we were talked about Belichick. More updates this weekend.
Oh boy, just gets crazier and crazier.

Speaker 18 (32:59):
Good morning, guys, Sonny from the Sea Coast.

Speaker 9 (33:01):
I sure wish it was Sonny.

Speaker 8 (33:03):
Thank you for brightening my Monday morning's compute. This Belichick story.

Speaker 9 (33:07):
Is so ringy.

Speaker 3 (33:09):
Yeah, more developments every single day.

Speaker 16 (33:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (33:12):
The AI thing that popped over the weekend was hilarious
and it fooled me for about five seconds.

Speaker 5 (33:17):
Yeah, and there's so much more. Billy will have it
again in his entertainment at eight p forty this morning.
But Belichick just so much shade.

Speaker 3 (33:24):
Okay, here's the thought, what was Kanye up to?

Speaker 6 (33:28):
Maybe if we start reporting on that, it'll take some
of the shade off of Bill Belichick.

Speaker 3 (33:33):
Well, I got life pot such.

Speaker 5 (33:39):
Yeah, we can't touch the Kanye stuff. That's even worse,
way worse than Belichick.

Speaker 3 (33:44):
Then there's the Diddy thing that starts this week, the trial.

Speaker 8 (33:46):
Well, you know what else is this weekend? Is the
Miss main competition? Oh that Jordan will be competing in.

Speaker 3 (33:52):
Is she definitely in it?

Speaker 16 (33:54):
Yes?

Speaker 3 (33:55):
Do you think they'll fix it for her? Does a Belichick?

Speaker 8 (33:58):
Where is that Portland?

Speaker 6 (34:00):
Maine?

Speaker 3 (34:00):
Well, Sarah from Maine one about talkbackers lives in Portland.
Oh my god, she's got to go as a correspondent.
I think she set the talk back this morning about Portland.
Let me see, Oh I got here.

Speaker 20 (34:10):
Hates your girl Sarah from Maine. And you guys might
not know this, but yesterday was the inaugural home game
of Portland's very own newest professional hockey.

Speaker 5 (34:23):
That's all well and good congrats to them. Yeah, it's
all about this weekend.

Speaker 3 (34:26):
Yeah, we want to know about the pageant? Yeah, oh god,
Sarah from Maine should go representing the billion lidsa morning show. Yeah,
we'll give you a sweatshirt. We can probably get a
press pass. No, I don't.

Speaker 1 (34:37):
I think I've heard very hard to get one for
the main pageant. Why do you think, Bill, Why do
you think?

Speaker 9 (34:44):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (34:44):
You think she puts stipulations on everything?

Speaker 4 (34:46):
And I bet you someone's donating to the charity.

Speaker 8 (34:49):
There could be a sponsorship.

Speaker 3 (34:50):
Yeah, producer, Riley, you're busy. This weekend can get you?

Speaker 4 (34:53):
Don't you think that that might make sense?

Speaker 8 (34:55):
Could be a sponsorship?

Speaker 3 (34:56):
Maybe can we go undercover? I will be banned. I
can't go. Yeah, they won't let me anywhere near that place.
So I think I'm afraid of you. I think so too,
So Riley, I'd be going.

Speaker 4 (35:11):
To Yeah, we're going to producer, what are you going?
What are you going up there for?

Speaker 3 (35:20):
Is that Friday? Is it Saturday night?

Speaker 8 (35:21):
Yeah, it's Saturday and Sunday. It's like the tenth and eleventh.
I think.

Speaker 3 (35:25):
Yeah, all right, producer Riley, you're on the job. Oh
what are you going up there for?
