Speaker 1 (00:00):
Now best morning show in Boston.

Speaker 2 (00:02):
Billy and Lisa in the Morning.

Speaker 3 (00:04):
It's just a great start to my day on Kids
one Away.

Speaker 1 (00:09):
Hey, everybody, good morning, and welcome into the Billy and
Lisa Morning Show. Today is a Tuesday. It is May twentieth.
But more specifically, more importantly, today is National Dog Rescue Day.
That's a big day in our lives.

Speaker 2 (00:24):
It really is.

Speaker 1 (00:26):
And here's what's going to be going on. Just after
eight o'clock this morning, We're going to celebrate National Dog
Rescue Day. And the goal this morning on the Billy
and Lisa Morning Show is to give two dogs a
new home. I hope before this show is over. How
cool would that be?

Speaker 2 (00:44):
So the dogs are coming in at eight ten.

Speaker 1 (00:46):
Correct, Yes, we have two different people. I know. The
dog mother is coming in justin. Didn't you grow up
with the dog mother?

Speaker 4 (00:53):
I did. Yeah, I didn't realize that until recently you
kept talking about her as the dog mother.

Speaker 1 (00:59):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:00):
Her name is Melissa, and yeah she's from where I'm from.

Speaker 1 (01:03):
Yeah, So two different agencies are coming in. Each is
bringing in a dog that needs a home, and I
think it's gonna be very cool. So we'll meet the
dogs on the show, we'll you know, feature the videos
with the dogs and take pictures and post them on
our websites, and hopefully before the show's over, you know,
we'll have conversations with people who want these dogs to

(01:25):
give them a home.

Speaker 5 (01:26):
I saw Deve Portnoy, who famously adopted two dogs. He
was posting about this day yesterday with his Instagram too,
raising awareness.

Speaker 2 (01:34):
So this is out there. It's a big deal.

Speaker 1 (01:36):
Well, I will say this. If things go well with
this this morning, who knows, maybe we'll have once a
week adopt a dog on the Billy and Lisa Morning Show.
Why not. I love that. I love that I do
something nice.

Speaker 4 (01:47):
This is Bill's Christmas. He's been talking about this day
for weeks behind the scenes. Yes, I'm very excited.

Speaker 1 (01:53):
Well, my wife Michelle posted something on I think it
was my Instagram last night, and uh it's It starts
with a picture of our dog Titus that we rescued.
And it's kind of sad to look at because the
picture is the picture of Titus when he was one
hour from being put down and he was in a
cage in Houston, Texas.

Speaker 2 (02:14):
Yeah, he looked in distress big time.

Speaker 1 (02:17):
And that's not to mention all of the abuse he
had taken from a previous owner and being abandoned in
the streets of Houston for six or seven weeks, just ridiculous.
So uh, it started there. And now what do you know?
He lives with us, he's our.

Speaker 4 (02:30):
Sons on the streets. Well, he's doing just fine. He's
a good boy.

Speaker 1 (02:39):
He's such a good boy.

Speaker 4 (02:41):
He's a good boy, good boy.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
So I was gonna have him come into it, but no,
it'll be great to have the two dogs. So if
you're listening and you know anybody that's been talking about
possible even if they want to foster a dog for
a couple of weeks. You just rescued.

Speaker 6 (02:57):
Yeah, my dog Code, I got him in November. He's three.
He's a upper Husky mix. He's a love You guys
have all met him. He's the sweetest dog.

Speaker 1 (03:04):
So you know the feeling when you look into his
face and you know what he possibly could have been through.
And yeah, and now he's got a home with you.
So let's make this happen this morning. If you're listening,
you know somebody that's been thinking about it, talking about it,
let's make it happen this morning. That'll be right after
eight o'clock this morning. Yeah, pet Boo, as it happens,
I believe the two dogs coming in our pity.

Speaker 4 (03:24):
There we go.

Speaker 1 (03:25):
Boo is one is nine months old? Is a baby
pity Oh little baby? Yeah, that's awesome. Oh go ahead. Sorry,
and Lisa, you have unexpected big news about your book
club events.

Speaker 5 (03:36):
We only have what we have, like ten seats that
we're putting up for grabs, hugely ten seats.

Speaker 2 (03:45):
That's it.

Speaker 5 (03:46):
So joson Maine was able to sort of move things
around a little bit because this is such a huge event.
So I posted the link on my Instagram this morning,
So grab them, grab them.

Speaker 1 (03:58):
I couldn't believe it when I saw your post. Wait
a minute for Wednesday that forever.

Speaker 2 (04:05):
Yeah. So literally, it's just like a couple of seats.

Speaker 5 (04:07):
But yeah, for people that really wanted to go, because
I know a lot of people. When we initially put
this up a few months ago, DMed me and asked me,
and I couldn't do anything for them. I just said,
let's check back, let's see where we are closer to
the event. So yeah, So the link is on my
on my Instagram and it's also on Lisa's book club
dot com. But again it's like ten seats, so just
grab them and then we'll see you tomorrow night at

(04:29):
Justin Maynez.

Speaker 1 (04:30):
This author is a huge get for the book.

Speaker 5 (04:32):
He's like next level when I was looking when I
was doing a deep dive into Wicked and what the
stage show did and then the movie. It's like in
the Billions when you look at the revenue.

Speaker 1 (04:43):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (04:44):
And he wrote the book almost.

Speaker 5 (04:45):
Thirty years ago and the themes in the book are
still so relatable today.

Speaker 2 (04:51):
Yeah. So I can't wait to talk to him.

Speaker 1 (04:53):
Wow.

Speaker 7 (04:54):
From the Planet Fitness Kiss one Away Studios.

Speaker 5 (04:57):
But we're back with the Villy and Lisa in the
morn Kiss.

Speaker 1 (05:01):
Well, you know what, Justin, I think we should welcome
the talkback Mafia onto the show on this Tuesday.

Speaker 4 (05:06):
Oh, they're always welcome any time of day. You can
leave a talk back. You can record a message right
into your phone. Pretty cool on the iHeartRadio app and
I might play it on the show if you're just
tuning in. Today is National Rescue Day for dogs, and
at eight o'clock we're gonna have two organizations in both
bringing in rescues that we're looking for new homes. This
is a new thing. This is like Billy's Christmas.

Speaker 1 (05:28):
Oh yeah, it's gonna be awesome.

Speaker 4 (05:30):
Obviously, Titus, your pitbull is a rescue. Yeah, when he
has a rescue and yeah, we love rescues.

Speaker 8 (05:35):
Great theme today, guys, I love it. I have rescued
three little chiuahas all summer adults. Adult dogs are great too.
They always have to be puppies. Adult dogs often come
house trained.

Speaker 9 (05:49):
They're great.

Speaker 2 (05:50):
It's so true. If I was to adopt, I would
adopt an adult dog.

Speaker 4 (05:54):
Highly recommend.

Speaker 2 (05:55):
Absolutely.

Speaker 6 (05:56):
Mine came trained potty like, he knows commands. He no,
he's party trained alone.

Speaker 4 (06:02):
And because we were looking at rescue dogs we have
in the past couple of years, you can also know
if they're good with kids and not good with kids,
you know, and party trained too. Like you said, if.

Speaker 1 (06:12):
You're thinking about it, you can foster and get a
feel for it, and then to say if you want
to adopt.

Speaker 4 (06:16):
We fostered, remember, yes, yeah, and then we had we
gave we gave him back. It was too much at
the time. Well, we had an infant.

Speaker 2 (06:23):
Yeah, having a dog is like having.

Speaker 4 (06:26):
An it was like having two infants. It was too much.

Speaker 10 (06:29):
Hey, good morning guys. I love that you're trying to
find these dogs a home. It made me a little
emotional shout out to Titus, who got the best home
of all. And you know what, Billy, he's a good boy.

Speaker 1 (06:41):
He's a good boy and by the way, came trained.
You know, never had a single accident in the house,
so you know, he was there two years old. He
was young, but he was about two years old. I
mean he's got emotional issues, rightfully, so right given the
mistreatment he was dealt with, I think.

Speaker 2 (06:59):
He's doing great.

Speaker 4 (06:59):
Yeah, he went from the streets to a yacht on
a big guy like Bills big yachts.

Speaker 11 (07:06):
Now the entertainment updates with the Billy cobstaff.

Speaker 1 (07:10):
Oh man, Yeah, at least let's start a big announcement
the book club and those.

Speaker 5 (07:16):
Tickets going already, yeah, they pretty much are. So yeah,
we had a few spots, but we'll see everyone tomorrow
night at Johnson Maine at the Rolington Mall, starting at
six o'clock with Gregory maguire who wrote Wicked.

Speaker 1 (07:28):
And by the way, do some shopping at Johnson mainwhaill, yes,
you know, never hurts. Get yourself a new couch.

Speaker 2 (07:33):
Yep, freshen up the first spring.

Speaker 1 (07:36):
Yeah, there it is and b A playoffs. Here we go.
Thunder in the Timber Bowls Game one tonight, Pacers and
the Knicks Game one tomorrow night. By the way, random Pacers.
A fan outside the Celton Knicks game Friday night was
pelted with garbage and debris and he was heckled horribly,
so he went on the Pat McAfee show to tell

(07:58):
his story and tell your rees. Hilliburton surprised the guy, who,
by the way, is a firefighter.

Speaker 12 (08:04):
I want to personally bring you in a plus one
out here to come to game four here in Indiana.
I'll bring you guys out here, put you guys up,
get you guys see to the game.

Speaker 1 (08:15):
The Pacers.

Speaker 12 (08:16):
Everybody in our organization wants to make sure you take
care of all the teams excited to meet you. It's
all we've been talking about. Everybody's seen the video, so man,
we want to bring you out here. And yeah, man,
I'm really excited about that.

Speaker 1 (08:28):
There you go, and shame on whoever was pelting that.

Speaker 2 (08:31):
That's terrible.

Speaker 1 (08:32):
All he did was wear a jersey of the team
he likes. Well, they also did it in a coward
way from behind. Yeah, they went behind him and whipped
him in the head. Knock them down. You might remember
the Celts were crushed by the Knicks in that game
and their season came to an end. Celtics president Brad
Stevens talking yesterday about the gigantic salaries on the Celts

(08:56):
and whether things are going to have to change for a.

Speaker 13 (08:59):
Unique situation, all under contract, and obviously, as you pointed out,
there are you know, several basketball penalties that will come
with that, with that amount of salary, and so we
just have to weigh it all and make those decisions.

Speaker 1 (09:17):
Let's see what happens. I guess, huh, but continue without us.
Speaking of giant price tags, it reports this morning say
the Jeff Bezos Laurence Sanchez wedding could cost upwards of
ten million dollars. Now keep in mind earlier reports hinted
that the price tag could have cost five hundred million.
I don't know how you spend that kind of money.

Speaker 2 (09:39):
She would spend it if she could.

Speaker 1 (09:41):
Oh yeah, they've got two hundred guests accommodations five hundred
thousand dollars a night. What what this is all going
down in Venice, Italy.

Speaker 5 (09:52):
She just had our bachelotte party last weekend in Paris.
Of course you did, Kim Kardashian and the crew.

Speaker 1 (09:59):
That's an expensive wedding, right.

Speaker 5 (10:00):
There was just a picture of him and her on
the yacht, Jeff and Lauren, and he was smacking her bum.

Speaker 2 (10:06):
She was in a bikini, getting a little playful.

Speaker 1 (10:10):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (10:10):
Well he's full of testosterone, that's for sure. Yeah, he's
running to go all the time. He's teed up.

Speaker 1 (10:18):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (10:18):
I think she probably is too.

Speaker 1 (10:20):
Yeah, so I always show time with Jeff and Lauren.

Speaker 6 (10:23):
Ten million is like twenty bucks to him, right right, Yeah, okay, yspective.

Speaker 1 (10:27):
It's like a cup of coffee.

Speaker 6 (10:29):
That's actually insane that his wedding is only like him
getting a cup of coffee.

Speaker 4 (10:33):
Well, it's like that Bill Gates line. If Jeff Bezos
drops one hundred dollars bill on the ground, it's not
even worth his time to bend over and pick it up.

Speaker 1 (10:40):
Yeah. Meantime, Demi Levado was seen partying it up in Vegas.
Some say it was her bachelorette party this past weekend.
She and her friends stayed in a thirty thousand dollars
a night sweet and they went to the Electric Daisy Festival, which,
by the way, my son Chris went to this past
weekend in Vegas.

Speaker 4 (10:59):
Your son Chris Costa is on a week long tour
that I am so jealous of.

Speaker 2 (11:04):
Yeah, it's a dream.

Speaker 1 (11:05):
He's all over the country. He was with Mike Posner, Kerry,
Steve Aoki. Yeah Posner. What is Mike Posner's connection to
Steve Aoki?

Speaker 4 (11:16):
So every time club DJ So, Mike Posner just did
a remix of Cooler than Me, one of his biggest songs.
It's an DM remix. Yeah, it's really good. So now
he performed at the at the d M show with
Steve Aoki. Yeah, it's really good. And then of course
Chris heads to the Hamptons this weekend for the Brady Opening.

Speaker 1 (11:33):
He's already arrived in the Hamptons.

Speaker 4 (11:34):
Yeah, he's already there for the big event.

Speaker 14 (11:36):
Hi, guys, I'm listening to yesterday's show and I'm listening
to Billy Bitch and Mode about the weather this weekend.
He can't take the boat out and he's going to
travel somewhere because the weather around here is going to
be terrible. Billy, Hey, isn't it? Chris having a big
card show opening in the Hamptons with the Tom Brady
this weekend.

Speaker 15 (11:56):
Meaning that's what you could do.

Speaker 9 (11:58):
I don't know, just an.

Speaker 1 (11:59):
Idea, always a possibility.

Speaker 4 (12:01):
You never know.

Speaker 1 (12:02):
Anything could happen this coming weekend. I yeah, what's not
going to happen this weekend is anything on the boat? Okay, okay,
that we know we're in New England. Can you fly there?

Speaker 5 (12:14):
You can, well, you can take you can take a
ferry from New London. You can also charter a little
puddle jumper from here to there. That's what somebody told
me to do, to tell you to do. Oh with
your Yeah, you could do it and it's an easy flight.

Speaker 1 (12:31):
All a little puddle I wonder what airlines would take
us there.

Speaker 2 (12:34):
I can find out.

Speaker 1 (12:35):
I just think in Memorial Day weekend and the Hampton
is going to be insane. Yes, well at the event,
you're gonna sleep on a park bench. No, you'll be fine.
The event is going to be insane. Chris posted about it. Yeah,
they're going to have a field near the new opening
and they're going to have a stage with Brady on
the field with special guests, and then they're going to
go to the opening at the store. Yeah, I saw
the post yesterday. I think I reposted one or two

(12:56):
of them about the schedule for this weekend. But yeah,
grand opening of the new Carvall by Tom Brady with
my son Chris this weekend in the Hamptons. I know, Billy, Okay,
thank you Tom.

Speaker 2 (13:05):
This is such a big deal.

Speaker 1 (13:06):
I know, huge one hundred openings that you've got planned.
Shakira comes to Fenway Park at May twenty ninth. She
was on Fallin last night talking about the tour.

Speaker 16 (13:16):
You know, I've been working on this tour for a year,
preparing every single detail, from the visuals to the music.
I've put together my biggest set, my biggest set list.
I'm singing some of my classic songs from Hipstone Light
to Whenever whatever to the most recent ones. And it's
a pretty huge production. It's a huge effort, you know,

(13:37):
to to tour with this production around Latin America's probably
the biggest production that's ever traveledlat in America.

Speaker 17 (13:43):
It weighs like ninety three times.

Speaker 1 (13:45):
Oh yeah, justin you equipped to give me some Shakira
in there. I know I didn't give you any warnings,
so oh he just gave me that book to see
what I should never do that.

Speaker 4 (13:55):
It's fine, that's my job, stone Line.

Speaker 2 (13:59):
I'm starting.

Speaker 4 (13:59):
Just let's go. So Lisa did her tax issues just
go away?

Speaker 2 (14:07):
She owed, like ten million supposed to right, and then
you never heard about it.

Speaker 4 (14:11):
You just went away doing this tour to pay it off. True.

Speaker 1 (14:15):
Yeah, she was probably forced to do the tour. I said, okay,
I'll tell you what go to work? Uh meantime A
j Loo interviewed from two thousand and two I sit
down with Diane Sawyer just resurfaced. J Lo asked about
and talking about her relationship with Diddy, not about.

Speaker 17 (14:32):
Sean Crombe's puppy p Didy, the man who courted controversy,
if not outright danger, he always seemed to be the
one in control. We wondered looking at the girl on
the red carpet, who was she?

Speaker 1 (14:45):
Was she afraid?

Speaker 7 (14:48):
No, I don't think she was afraid.

Speaker 1 (14:50):
I just think that I at that time was care
very deeply, uh for for On, and.

Speaker 3 (15:02):
You know, we just we just didn't have the same
kind of ideals about life and family and stuff.

Speaker 15 (15:07):
Like that, and just wasn't a good relationship for me.

Speaker 2 (15:11):
It didn't have so much to do with him as
it had to do with me at the time.

Speaker 1 (15:14):
So was the Sean Puffy Combs at the time.

Speaker 4 (15:17):
Or well he was he was puff Daddy, then he
was Puffy, then he was p Diddy, then he was Diddy,
and then he was Love. Just love. My name is Love.

Speaker 2 (15:26):
She said they didn't share the same values.

Speaker 1 (15:28):
Yeah, well he also has a weird expressing.

Speaker 5 (15:31):
Yeah read between the lines, right. That sounded so creepy,
very creepy.

Speaker 10 (15:35):
Right.

Speaker 4 (15:35):
Yeah, and they had the music there, yes, to make
it even more test we creep.

Speaker 1 (15:39):
A lot of people have wondered what j Lo really
knew well j Loo or had anything to do with
Jaylo and Ben breaking up?

Speaker 4 (15:46):
Right, but jay Z, I mean all of these celebrities
that were around Diddy, like what they none of them knew,
you know. By the way, I learned a fun fact
real quick from Winnie actually yesterday. So I'm obsessed with
this show Mobland, Tom Hardy Paramount amazing. Cassie's husband who's
in the courtroom is in that show. I didn't even
know what he's one of the characters. Yeah, wow, interesting.

Speaker 1 (16:09):
Uh So Netflix is stepping up and saving Sesame Street.
HBO and Max walked away now. Netflix will stream Sesame
Street same day the episodes Hitt PBS. Oh cool, yea
yeah on Netflix. And how about this? Jelly Roll during
his show in Detroit brought Eminem on stage. This is

(16:32):
the post Malone jelly Roll tour that, by the way,
comes to Jellette Stadium May thirty. First fans went nuts, though.

Speaker 7 (16:37):
That's really cool.

Speaker 1 (16:39):
Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome Eminem or you you think
they knew in advanced the fans probably know.

Speaker 4 (16:45):
No, you know, I watched the video. Jelly Roll wrapped
the whole verse, the whole first verse himself, ah, and
then they went to the hook and then Eminem came out. Man,
So it was cool.

Speaker 1 (16:56):
We have to talk about this at least that you're
hearing stories from Nantucket that Jordan Hanson might be banned
from all social activities.

Speaker 5 (17:03):
The New York Post and Page six are hearing stories
from Nantucket saying that, yeah, there's a she's she's not
very welcome there right now. So yeah, they're freezing her
out in support of Linda because Linda is you know,
Linda does a lot of charity work. She's been connected
to island for fifteen twenty years.

Speaker 1 (17:23):
And Linda is beloved John the island of Nantucket. We
should give Linda a call and find out what's going on. Alind,
that's Lisa. I'm gonna be quick.

Speaker 6 (17:31):
I have a four pm ferry to Nantucket and I'm
already wait as all hell.

Speaker 1 (17:35):
I had a snap with a pet resort, I said, Brianna,
let me stop you now.

Speaker 4 (17:40):
We need to know about Jordan, not the pet resort.
That's insane that we have.

Speaker 1 (17:46):
That is that's the billion lids the morning show. You
never know what's coming up next. Alind, that's Lisa, and
we're brought to you by Wilson Farm. Listen, start your
memorially weekeet at Wilson Farm in Lexington. From the best

(18:07):
vegetable and herb plants for your garden to the freshest produce,
delicious sides and desserts for the cookout. They've got everything
you need for the perfect weekend. Just go to Wilson
Farm or Wilson Farm dot com. Do it today and
there you go.

Speaker 4 (18:21):
I know Billy from the.

Speaker 18 (18:23):
Planets Fitness Kiss one Away Studios.

Speaker 5 (18:25):
We're back with a Billy and Lisa in the morning
on Kiss on eight.

Speaker 1 (18:30):
Okay, so here's the deal. This is an incredible prize
that we are about to give away. And I'll be
looking for Caller twenty five in a second. But Lisa,
what are we giving away right now?

Speaker 5 (18:40):
Okay, four shows at the extent at the Exfinity Center, Halsey, Kasha,
Big Time, Rush AJR.

Speaker 2 (18:47):
So that's huge.

Speaker 1 (18:48):
So Caller twenty five is going to get tickets to
all four of those shows. Yeah, boom, Okay, So let's
get Caller twenty five at six, one, seven, nine, eight.
And you need the keyword, and the keyword is rescue.
Rescue is the keyword. And while we waites and let's
get the talkbacks, Well, why is it rescue bill? Because

(19:10):
we intend on rescuing two dogs live in studio on
this show this morning, just after eight o'clock.

Speaker 4 (19:17):
We're also going to be talking about rescue dogs in
a couple of minutes. That's going to be our topic time.
So you can check in on that. If you rescue
a dog, if you're thinking about one, let us know,
hit us up. But in the meantime yesterday's show, you
know a lot of people listen to the podcast of
The Billy and Lisa Show after they can't listen live.
We would appreciate it if you could. A lot of
people can't. You can catch up on the podcast on

(19:39):
the iHeartRadio app just starts Billy and Lisa in the morning.
So let's catch up about some stuff from yesterday's show,
and that included the vagina candle from Gwyneth Paltrow.

Speaker 19 (19:47):
Listening to the podcast and I get to ask Lisa
this question, what is the vagina scented candle really smell like?
I mean, really, what does it smell like? Because you
said it smells really good, and maybe it does smell
like a vagina.

Speaker 2 (20:04):
I don't know, but like.

Speaker 19 (20:08):
China, that would be up to debate, right, So what
does it really smell like?

Speaker 4 (20:13):
We cleared this up yesterday.

Speaker 2 (20:14):
It smells like my vagina.

Speaker 5 (20:16):
Yeah, So again this was a joke, like like she
was like Gwyneth Putrick was smelling all these different scents
for this candle line. So she just said it as
like a joke. But this scent is bergamo and rose, cedar,
wood and amber. So those are the scents that are
in the candle.

Speaker 1 (20:35):
So it's like woody, It's no, it's it's just very.

Speaker 2 (20:38):
Light and airy. It's a beautiful it smells beautiful. It
really does.

Speaker 1 (20:42):
I remember it smells really it does.

Speaker 5 (20:44):
It smells beautiful. So again it was just like a joke,
right yeah, yeah, but that's what it smells like. Okay, yeah,
and you can't get it anymore.

Speaker 4 (20:53):
No, Yeah, they're reselling for big money right your dollars
on eBay? Wow? And the original price was what eighty
yeah eight somewhere around there. Oh, that would be a
good investment. We also talked about my chicken coop yesterday
on the show and nine chickens who are in their home.
Second night. Last night they went in at at dusk,
at don dusk or down dusk, came dusk, and came

(21:15):
out at dawn, and today they did the same thing.

Speaker 11 (21:18):
Him Morning crew loved listening about Justin's chicken coop and
all the cameras everywhere, And I just had a thought,
I think you guys should have a little friendly bet
going on. How long before Jen makes Justin sleep with
the chickens because there's an animal time to get into.

Speaker 2 (21:37):
The chicken Just a thought, Bye, you gotta watch that.

Speaker 4 (21:41):
For those coyotes, we have them on surveillance, so you know,
we have a movement detectors so there's been nothing so far.
Knock on, knock on.

Speaker 8 (21:50):
What you know.

Speaker 1 (21:51):
I was watching the video of the chickens walking out
of their coop and down the ramp and I couldn't
help but notice there was a lot of slipping. You
may want to with some some sort of surface down
on that ramp. Thank you for your concern. We're trying everything.
You know, there's some stuff you can buy the steps
and it just sticks right to the ramp and then
they're not slipping in slide.

Speaker 4 (22:11):
Well, the new thing is now because she's now realized
that she has to get up and go outside to
let them out and open the door and then close it.
So now she's hyper focused on this automatic door, Oh
my god, door where she can control it from her phone.

Speaker 2 (22:28):
That's better. Actually I would do that too.

Speaker 4 (22:30):
Yeah, because it's a lot of work, especially when you
have small kids.

Speaker 2 (22:32):
Ye just make it easy for yourself.

Speaker 1 (22:34):
When do the chickens get a hot tub?

Speaker 4 (22:36):
I mean, well, she got them. She got them a swing.
They have a swing. Now there's something.

Speaker 1 (22:48):
She really hassion.

Speaker 4 (22:51):
She's all in on it.

Speaker 1 (22:52):
Yeah, let's go to uh Is that Kristin Kristen and Boston,
Good morning, Kristin, Well, we're great, and I think you're
even better than we are, Christian because you're calling twenty five.
But we do need the keyword.

Speaker 9 (23:07):
Rescue.

Speaker 1 (23:08):
Rescue is the keyword, Kristin, Lisa, tell her what she
just wants.

Speaker 2 (23:12):
Oh my god, you win.

Speaker 5 (23:13):
Take us to four shows, Halsey, Kesha, Big Time, Rush
Ajar all at the Infinity Center.

Speaker 1 (23:18):
Are you doing now, Kristin, Oh, I'm doing great, Thank
you so much. All Right, Well, Christian is nice weather,
It's going to beautiful whatever show you're going to. But
hold on, don't hang up, okay, and uh producer Riley,
Oh thank you. Yeah, Producer Riley's a little bit of
a chatter chatterbox, but that's okay. She's fine and she's lovely.

(23:39):
But hold on and you'll talk to producer Riley.

Speaker 2 (23:41):
Bill Lisa kiss one away.

Speaker 20 (23:43):
Good morning guys, especially Billy. I love it that you're
doing the topic time today. The rescue dogs. I got
one hundred pound rescue dog named Kevin who came from
death row down in Texas, going from death row to
chilling by the pool. Baby.

Speaker 1 (23:57):
Hey, yeah, Titus came from throw in Houston, Texas and
now he's on a boat. And by the way, one
of the agencies that's coming in galzabus Pals. Those are
the folks who got us Titus from Houston, Texas and
brought him back here. There are so many great adoption
and or dog foster agencies, even in the New England area.

(24:19):
I mean, we were having two wins this morning. But
you know, going forward, we might do this as a
regular thing. And if we do, we'll try to feature
as many agencies as we can and find as many
homes as we can for dogs who need them. I
think we should do this, Yeah, like Adopt a Dog
Friday or something. Well, today is National Rescue Dog Day.
It's observed annually on May twentieth. It's a day to
celebrate rescue dogs and encourage people to consider adopting a

(24:42):
shelter dog. It aims to raise awareness about the needs
of shelter animals and highlight the benefits of adopting a
rescue pet. Yeah, it could change your life. It just yeah,
it's it's hard to explain without getting emotional. Book Yep,
he's a good boy. Yeah, absolute good morning.

Speaker 21 (25:01):
I did not know who was Rescue Day and that's
so exciting. I do a lot of volunteer work for
the rescue near me, my little plug, Buddy and Friends
Animal Rescue and Pembroke, and I have a foster that
has a meet and greet today and hopefully is going
to be adopted. So Happy National Rescue Day, everybody.

Speaker 1 (25:21):
Yeah, Buddy and French. Shout out to Buddy and French
doing great work. And the thing about a lot of
the agencies, I know, gals, bes pals, they have a
lot of what they call showcases.

Speaker 2 (25:32):
Isn't that how you met Titus the first time?

Speaker 1 (25:34):
Interestingly, there was a showcase that Titus was zac at
the anchor in Charlestown. We had no idea. We didn't
even know about Titus at the time. We didn't know
Titus was a rescue dog. We happened to be walking
by and found out. A couple of weeks later, somebody
sent a video because they found out that we had
adopted Titus and said, believe it or not, you walked
right by Titus in Charlestown and we didn't even know.

(25:57):
We didn't even know there was a showcase there. It
was meant to be magical.

Speaker 21 (26:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (26:01):
Wow, some stories write them down as they say, we have.

Speaker 15 (26:05):
Two rescue dogs at home. Our first named Ginger. She
is from South Korea. She was rescued from the meat,
the dog meat industry. She was literally like put on
a plane brass the United States. So she's our international battie.
She's a Korean gender dog. And then we have Peppa,
who is a bad Jack Russell mixed with a massive

(26:26):
underbite from Pensacola, Florida. She was a street dog and
when we met her, she was eating dirt. And we
love both of them.

Speaker 1 (26:33):
Yeah, Titus was a street dog for several weeks. And yeah,
it's it's really sad. And the thing about having a
rescue dog, you and when you've got one, you want
to know what they had been through, right, but then
you don't want to know, uh, And we recently found
out a little more, and it's it's horrible what some
of these dogs are put through with these abusive people.

Speaker 4 (26:57):
I remember I went to Aruba a couple of years
ago and there were so many dogs on the streets
of Aruba. Yes, yeah, and there's actually, I don't know
the names of the foundation that rescues these dogs in
Aruba and they bring them here. There's one in our
neighborhood that was rescued from Aruba.

Speaker 1 (27:11):
Yeah, that's a well known one, the one that's connected
to Aruba. Because you're right, you go to Aruba and
you notice it. I mean there are a lot of
street dogs roaming around. Yeah, they're everywhere. Real quick, let's
go to Leah online one in Lynnfield. Good morning, Leah
in Lindfield.

Speaker 9 (27:26):
Good morning, Good morning. So I am calling in today
because rescue is not possible without foster home. I am
a foster home right now for Sweetpaus Rescue and Groveland.
And as a matter of fact, this afternoon, I'm picking
up three fosters that just came in on Saturday.

Speaker 11 (27:48):
Oh.

Speaker 22 (27:48):
I just want to say it is so important to
be a foster or a volunteer in any capacity at all.
So shout out to all the fosters and Sweetpaus Rescue.
They're just do an amazing job. I actually also have
a dog that I fostered and failed, So that means
we basically adopted him. Found under a bridge down south.

Speaker 9 (28:13):
Somewhere in a box with his siblings, and the rest
is history.

Speaker 22 (28:18):
He's been ours ever since.

Speaker 1 (28:19):
Yeah, good one, I know Titus was held at a
foster that's what we went down to get him. I
think it was in the Framingham area when he finally
got back from Texas. But yeah, foster dog foster pick
people are saints. What they do. They provide a shelter
and a home for a dog until he can be rescued. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (28:36):
Good for kids too, it is.

Speaker 8 (28:38):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (28:39):
And by the way, if it's something you're thinking about,
you know, like you did it justin you can foster
for a couple of weeks and if it doesn't work out,
that's okay. Eventually they'll find a home.

Speaker 4 (28:48):
Yeah, it wasn't the right time for us. We had
an infant in the house, but we planned to to rescue.

Speaker 1 (28:52):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (28:53):
Sure, yeah you too.

Speaker 2 (28:54):
Again, I have a dog, but I'm planning on rescuing one.

Speaker 1 (28:57):
But I yeah, yeah, you've been trying.

Speaker 21 (28:59):
I have.

Speaker 12 (29:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (29:01):
Now it's topic time for the Billy and Lisa in
the Morning.

Speaker 1 (29:05):
Yeah, it's National Dog Rescue Day and we are celebrating
on the Billy and Lisa Morning Show this morning, and
we're celebrating by trying to find homes for dogs who
need them. In fact, we've got a couple of rescue
dogs coming in just after eight o'clock this morning, everybody
listening can meet the dogs. We'll send pictures of the
dogs and hopefully someone will give them a home. But

(29:27):
we've got a lot of talk packs, a lot of
phone calls. Let's go to Christina in Milton, Lisa, that's
your hometown, Hey Christina, Hey Lisa.

Speaker 23 (29:36):
I was actually gonna say, if you see a dog
mom with two crazy Minnie Schnauzers walking the streets, that's me.

Speaker 8 (29:46):
Yeah.

Speaker 23 (29:46):
So I actually have a really fun story that March first,
twenty twenty have to set the stage. So pre pandemic time,
we wanted to rescue a dog. So we saw this
scruffy looking little Minnie Schnauzer and we were like, we're
going to put our name in. We got a signed
to her. Her name is Maggie, and when we arrived,

(30:07):
they brought the dogs off transport and she arrived with
her sister, who they told me was not a bonded
pair so that they didn't need to go together. So
we were picking up Maggie, another woman was there for
the other dog, and when they came off, it was
clear that they belonged together, and the other woman who
was there for the other dog said, there's no way,

(30:29):
I can take.

Speaker 7 (30:30):
Both of them. But if you can, you should.

Speaker 21 (30:32):
Wow.

Speaker 23 (30:32):
My husband and I were not dog parents at the time,
so we had no idea what we were in store for.
But we convinced ourselves to bring both of them home,
and our reasoning was, hey, while we're at work, they'll
keep each other entertained. Well, you know, seventeen days later,
we never went back to get work again because we
both worked remotely. But we have two very, very happy

(30:56):
rescue dogs. We're so lucky to have them.

Speaker 11 (31:01):
For us.

Speaker 23 (31:01):
I will go for us in Cunningham. Okay, we go
to Cunningham quite a bit awesome.

Speaker 4 (31:08):
Thank you for the call.

Speaker 1 (31:09):
Let's go to Casey and wear him. That's on the cape.
I was on the cape yesterday. I it was your edge.
Good morning, Casey, good morning. Give us your story.

Speaker 7 (31:19):
So I am with a local animal shelter in New Bedford, Massachusetts.
We are a little unique. We're one hundred percent volunteer,
one hundred percent donation funded, and we have a dog
that's been with us for eight hundred and fifty five days.
It is Yeah, he's a sweet boy. He is a
bully mix. He's a black bully mix. He's a strong boy.
His name is Cole and he's looking for a specific home.

(31:41):
You would need a single, strong, experienced dog handler, no cats,
no kids. But he really is a very content, very
sweet boy. We love him at the shelter. I would
like to highlight that he is content with the shelter
and he has his home, big room, but we really
do love him. We're hoping to find him home well.

Speaker 1 (32:00):
Shout outs to the shelter for keeping them comfortable all
this time, eight hundred and fifty five days. So you
know what, if there's somebody listening who is looking for
a rescue dog, Cole is ready to go.

Speaker 7 (32:13):
Yes, and he can be found at Lighthouse Animal Shelter
dog or if all of our dogs are out there
and they can reach out to us, we will answer
any questions at all. We have a bunch of volunteers
that take them out for the day. Anything at all, well,
we just want to get them home with somebody soon.

Speaker 2 (32:28):
Can you say the name of the shelter again?

Speaker 7 (32:31):
Sorry, it's Lighthouse Animal Shelter and that's a new Bedford, Massachusetts.

Speaker 1 (32:36):
Thank you so much for the call. Hopefully someone will
call us and hopefully Cole will get home before the
day is out.

Speaker 4 (32:42):
Wow.

Speaker 15 (32:42):
We have two rescue dogs at home. Our first name Ginger.
She is from South Korea. She was rescued from the meat,
the dog meat industry. She was literally like put on
a plane brought to the United States. So she's our
international battie. She's a Korean Jindo dog. And then we
have Peppa, who is a basset hound jack Russell mixed

(33:04):
with a massive underbete from Pensacola, Florida to the street dog.
And when we met her, she was eating dirt and
we love both of them.

Speaker 1 (33:11):
Wow, that's a good one. Give them a home, you
change their life. Imagine that the dog meet. Yeah, I
don't even want to think about that.

Speaker 2 (33:22):
They do that in other countries, they really do.

Speaker 1 (33:24):
So think about that. So now these dogs are sitting
there waiting and they're just going to be destroyed.

Speaker 4 (33:30):
Yeah. Earlier I mentioned in Aruba when we were on
a vacation, there was so many dogs on the street
and I knew there was a foundation at least one
that rescues these dogs.

Speaker 18 (33:38):
Ansa Justin's question, the foundation in a Aruba for the
dogs is the Luna Foundation. We would just stare recently
and we actually visited Luna Foundation. It was pretty sad,
but the organization works very hard to rehome these.

Speaker 11 (33:55):
Animals from the islands.

Speaker 15 (33:57):
So if you can help, please do the headquarters of
brain Tream Maths as well well Luna Foundation.

Speaker 1 (34:03):
Yeah, and kick that in mind as you're listening this
morning on this National Dog Rescue Day. All of these
agencies they work together, they work with each other all
they want to do. Their only goal is to find
a home for it.

Speaker 5 (34:13):
But also if you can't adopt, you can donate, yes,
and right to support you know the length of stay
for some of these dogs.

Speaker 1 (34:20):
And we've got two of the agencies coming in. Gal's
Best Pals that's where we got Titus and the Dog
Mother is coming in and they can give some information
on sending donations.

Speaker 4 (34:29):
You say Gal's Best Pals, Yes.

Speaker 3 (34:31):
Born in Haula Geology here. I adopted a puppy a
couple months ago through Gal's Best Pals. The pregnant mother
was at a kill shelter down in Texas on the
list and somebody was able to rescue her. She had
her puppies. The puppies were brought up here and now
I have one of them. Best decision ever.

Speaker 1 (34:49):
Yeah, Houston, Texas has this park I guess where everybody
abandons their dogs. They just woke up one day and said,
you know, I'm not in the mood or this isn't
working out for me, so they just leave them in
the streets to fend for themselves. And the problem is
places like Houston and there are others just like them,
when maybe your dog came from one of them, but

(35:09):
they don't have enough dog officers to get all the dogs.
And what happens is the collection of dogs keeps building
and building, and the shelters don't have the accommodations for
that many dogs. So eventually time runs out. Like Tita's
had an hour to go an hour, Yeah, time runs

(35:30):
out and they have to you know, Wow, I didn't
want to think about that.

Speaker 24 (35:34):
Shout out to my dad Ashley, who rescued Susie thirteen
years ago.

Speaker 1 (35:38):
She was a two year old.

Speaker 24 (35:40):
She was banded by Herona's in Mississippi, tied to a
tree for six months.

Speaker 1 (35:45):
I don't know who could do that to a dog.

Speaker 24 (35:47):
Don't get me started, but anyhow, Susie is a spoiled girl.
She's a smart girl. She loves chicken, she loves long walk.
She loves her toys, she loves being with her family,
and she's getting ready for her vacation in Nantucket sacking
as we speak.

Speaker 1 (36:05):
These monsters will tie or chain the dogs to a
fence and just leave them there, and there's no telling
how long the dog is going to be tied up.

Speaker 4 (36:15):
Well, remember the hurricane in Florida. Someone tied the dog
to a street pole in the middle of a hurricane. Yeah, yeah, monsters,
they're doing the Lord's work here.
