Speaker 3 (00:20):
It is definitely the fifth.
Speaker 4 (00:21):
All right.
Speaker 2 (00:22):
You want to at least start your day knowing what
day it is and where you are. Okay, I think
we have a birthday coming up soon? Oh boy, do we? Yeah,
we do. Talking down the days less than a week away.
Speaker 3 (00:34):
Yeah, Monday, August eleventh.
Speaker 2 (00:36):
Lisa don shares a birthday with Joe Rogan.
Speaker 5 (00:40):
Any who else your mother in law, my mother or
my mother your mother?
Speaker 3 (00:44):
Sorry? And Chris Helmsworth.
Speaker 2 (00:46):
Oh yeah, yeah, oh yes, that's a big one. So
that's coming up Monday. Yes, okay, Whenny can you take
note of that? So I went, don't forget gotcha?
Speaker 5 (00:57):
Yeah, we have We should at least get a cake
or something.
Speaker 2 (00:59):
We got to have a party in the studio.
Speaker 3 (01:01):
We have to do something. I can't get a cake.
Speaker 1 (01:04):
You can't get the cake for your own birthday.
Speaker 3 (01:06):
I like the party favors cake, so I'm happy to
go pick it up.
Speaker 1 (01:09):
Okay, no, no, no, are you crazy? How would you
do every year where I do everything and you and
justin give me money. That's what we'll do.
Speaker 5 (01:17):
Okay, guys, I don't want this to be a burden.
Speaker 1 (01:21):
No, but that's ridiculous. You're not getting your own.
Speaker 2 (01:25):
Let's make a list what would you like for your
birthday Monday?
Speaker 6 (01:28):
We're going to start with wants shrimp, cocktail and a
glass of wine.
Speaker 2 (01:33):
What do you want?
Speaker 1 (01:34):
Do you know me? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (01:36):
Whatever. I'm happy to just be.
Speaker 2 (01:37):
Here with all of you celebrat, but you need to splurge, like,
you know, like let's let's get crazy on this birthday
party in studio. You want me to call Harry Styles?
I could probably get him here.
Speaker 3 (01:46):
That would be good. That would be good.
Speaker 2 (01:48):
How about American jeans?
Speaker 3 (01:50):
Yes, a happy Birthday?
Speaker 2 (01:52):
Are those available? The American Eagle jeans?
Speaker 3 (01:55):
They're definitely available.
Speaker 2 (01:57):
How weird is that?
Speaker 4 (01:58):
Doctor?
Speaker 2 (01:59):
American Eagles surged. Yeah, we'll definitely sing to you.
Speaker 3 (02:08):
You know what I want?
Speaker 1 (02:09):
I want?
Speaker 5 (02:10):
You know you we walking on the video screens and
we have talked about this for years. Yea, how we
have never been up on those video screens like happy birthday, Yes, all.
Speaker 2 (02:20):
Right, of the listeners. This is a very large media
company and we have JumboTron screens throughout the building, and
you know, anytime somebody who works here has a birthday,
they are featured up on the jumbo tron. Interestingly enough,
over the years, not a single person from the morning
show has ever been up on the jumbo tron on
(02:42):
their birthday. Yeah, and we've asked, but no, it's a
complete shunning. But like you know, Mike the sales assistant,
his face will be all over the people we don't
even know like work here or up on the jumbo
tron on their birthdays.
Speaker 4 (02:56):
Yea.
Speaker 2 (02:57):
Never, never, never have any of us been up on
the jumbzone.
Speaker 1 (03:01):
And on their birthday they won't be in the office.
They'll be working from home because it's their.
Speaker 3 (03:04):
Birthday, so they don't even see it.
Speaker 2 (03:06):
Yeah, okay, Well my theory is that the people here
don't actually know where on the air, right.
Speaker 6 (03:14):
Like they think that they're like, okay, there's definitely radio
shows going on because we have things to sell, but
they don't know what we do.
Speaker 2 (03:20):
Well, you see them sitting there with their big headphones on,
but they're not listening to They're.
Speaker 3 (03:26):
Usually on a video screen in some sort of zoom meeting.
Speaker 2 (03:30):
Yeah, and some you know, weird playlist or something. All right,
so I'm adding it to the list here lista birthday
on screen? Yeah, okay, on the jumbo trump.
Speaker 6 (03:39):
My favorite parts when they say sorry, I wasn't listening,
and I'm like, well, when do you ever.
Speaker 7 (03:47):
It's the weirdest thing to me because what they do
here is sell us, right, that's their job, right, and
yet know anything about us.
Speaker 2 (04:02):
Some of them do listen. I don't you know what
if they're listening, call in so that we can make
a list of those who do list so we can
prove it. Yes, okay, so their stats. Birthday coming up Monday.
But today, good morning.
Speaker 8 (04:17):
It's Mike from my Hamshire. I'm up early. I just
did my three mile run at five am, training for
my marathon. But the real reason I'm giving this talk
back is to give a shout out to myself because
today I'm fifty years old and I've been listening to
this radio station basically for forty four years. I was
(04:39):
six years old, So.
Speaker 2 (04:40):
Keep on rocking.
Speaker 8 (04:42):
Love kiss went away.
Speaker 3 (04:43):
Oh, happy birthday, Mike, Happy birthday.
Speaker 2 (04:46):
Happy birthday for a marathon or he seems to be
he just finished.
Speaker 3 (04:51):
Maybe guys like walking up the stairs.
Speaker 2 (04:53):
Or yeah, he's finishing up. Yeah, so I'll be stretching
in the middle of that. I just started running. I
told Lisa this. Yeah, I'm getting better, but I do
understand the benefits of running. The runner is high and
you feel good. But it's tough, man, it's tough. I'm
up to three miles. I can be three miles straight.
Speaker 1 (05:11):
Ask me how long you don't you don't stop.
Speaker 2 (05:13):
I don't stop for three miles. But ask me how
long it takes?
Speaker 1 (05:16):
Forty five minutes?
Speaker 2 (05:17):
Fifty Yeah, it's very slow.
Speaker 1 (05:20):
It's okay.
Speaker 3 (05:21):
It's almost like a fast walk.
Speaker 2 (05:22):
Yeah, it's like a hike. But I'm bumping it up slowly.
Speaker 3 (05:25):
I love that you're doing for me.
Speaker 6 (05:26):
Yeah, because if I walk three miles it takes me
like fifty minutes.
Speaker 2 (05:29):
So yeah, it's like you're doing. It's like a hike
on flat terrain.
Speaker 1 (05:36):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (05:36):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (05:37):
Like I'm like, I'm walking.
Speaker 6 (05:38):
To me, I consider it walking, but you consider it running.
I'm just going for a walk, Lisa.
Speaker 2 (05:43):
I'm at the gym yesterday during my three miles, and
I'm surrounded by hot women right like in yoga pants,
and I'm just thinking, are you judging me right now? Absolutely?
Anyone on a treadmill is judging the person next thing
you start, you start somewhere.
Speaker 3 (05:57):
Yeah, yeah, And I love that You're up to three miles.
That's cool. Yeah, that's good.
Speaker 2 (06:01):
Are you ultimately going for distance?
Speaker 4 (06:04):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (06:04):
Man, distance, I'm changing my training. I'm still gonna wait lift,
but I'm more into the cardio. Watching him drop.
Speaker 1 (06:12):
Like mad weight, walk in like one.
Speaker 2 (06:14):
Now you can constantly reinventing yourself. You're on a new
diet again. Well, I'm fasting intermat fast intermittent fasting, and
then next week you'll be doing something else. By the way,
I did thirty hours over the weekend.
Speaker 3 (06:27):
That's good.
Speaker 2 (06:27):
Thirty hours of that'd be something if you just eight
for thirty straight hours. Anyway, Thank you, Happy birthday, Mike,
and thank you for listening. Yeah. From the Planet Fitness,
Kiss one Await Studios, we're back with a Villy and Lisa.
Speaker 3 (06:44):
In the morning on Kiss.
Speaker 2 (06:48):
Okay. So j Low now has a breakup song about
Ben Affleck.
Speaker 5 (06:52):
Yeah, it's the first thing you said to me when
I walked in this morning.
Speaker 2 (06:55):
Yeah, well, because I saw the story. It was probably
on Extra or something last night. And then she has
a performance of it. Actually, she performed the song and
told the story behind the song for the very first
time in Spain this early on. That she just cannot
sing it is the live version, right.
Speaker 1 (07:16):
You should be able to sing love of your singer.
Speaker 2 (07:18):
Yeah, but the studio version they kind of make it sound.
Speaker 6 (07:21):
Perfectly, editing the song for someone's voice to sound better.
Speaker 1 (07:25):
I could sound good in the studio. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (07:30):
Jadon and I were watching the video of her in
Spain with this, and I'm like, oh my god, I
don't think she hit a single note.
Speaker 5 (07:37):
No, she's trying, but I agree with you. She says
that this came to her in the middle of the night. Yeah,
that she had a sleepless night, but the lyrics like,
oh boy, well, but.
Speaker 2 (07:49):
Here's the story behind the story. Remember, she was supposed
to bring the tour to Boston, but canceled the entire
tour because of poor ticket sales. There was just a
total lack of interest in the tour. So instead she's
doing a Vegas residency now at the end of this year.
Speaker 6 (08:07):
Well, Vegas residencies, you know those are small spaces. Yeah,
some of them are like four thousand. And I mean
if you're j Lo and you can't sell it four thousand, like,
that's sad. Because she is still a big name.
Speaker 2 (08:19):
And as a Vegas act j Lo makes a lot
of sense.
Speaker 3 (08:23):
To me, it does. I think she'll do fine in Vegas.
Speaker 2 (08:26):
Yeah, and she'll have a lot of great backup dancers
in Derek Huff is going to be her choreographer for
the Vegas residency.
Speaker 3 (08:34):
I like that for her. He has good energy.
Speaker 2 (08:37):
Yeah, he does.
Speaker 3 (08:38):
I would want him around me.
Speaker 1 (08:40):
Oh my god, watch her start dating him. I think
he's married.
Speaker 2 (08:42):
He is married. Yeah, yeah, and she marries everyone she dates, right, she.
Speaker 1 (08:47):
Does tries to at least.
Speaker 2 (08:48):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (08:48):
But I mean, guys, this is like just pure facts.
Speaker 2 (08:54):
We're I don't think she's the best singer at all,
but she's still a talent. She's all of us put together.
Speaker 3 (09:01):
She's an entertainer.
Speaker 6 (09:02):
No one's coming at her success of being a businesswoman,
an actress, and a dancer and even a singer.
Speaker 2 (09:08):
What did Jaylo do to you? Buy that?
Speaker 3 (09:09):
Nothing?
Speaker 2 (09:10):
Can I tell you?
Speaker 6 (09:10):
I actually really do like some of her movies, and
I like and when I was little, waiting for tonight,
Oh great song, but like.
Speaker 1 (09:19):
Oh man, I can't say yeah.
Speaker 3 (09:24):
Yeah, if she just did that outbus Vegas, just stick
with that.
Speaker 6 (09:27):
But as I've gotten older and I've gone down this
j Lo lore and I saw that as Shanty sang
all her songs and got no credit, I felt.
Speaker 2 (09:34):
Away, Okay, Well, I think she's a pretty good actress.
She is enough. She was very good, by the way,
the best movies. She has a movie coming out October tenth,
Kiss of the Spider Woman, and if I'm not mistaken,
Ben and Matt's production company I think is doing that
movie they did. Boy, that's going to be a little awkward.
Speaker 1 (09:56):
Well, I mean, business is business, right, money is.
Speaker 2 (09:58):
So do they all show up at the the press
releases and the press conferences, and.
Speaker 3 (10:02):
She was doing some stuff by herself.
Speaker 2 (10:05):
Ben is still kind of hanging out in New England.
Speaker 3 (10:07):
I think he was on the Cave last week.
Speaker 6 (10:09):
He was just on the THEO vonn podcast is very good.
I saw some of it. He was just I don't know,
I like that He's just so down to earth.
Speaker 1 (10:16):
Oh yeah, exactly. That's what she sounds like. When she
tries to.
Speaker 2 (10:20):
Do like her birthday song though that was we love that.
Speaker 5 (10:25):
So one of the lyrics in this breakup song is
I won't fall apart because of who.
Speaker 3 (10:31):
You are and all your broken parts.
Speaker 2 (10:33):
See now that's a hit. You know Ben's got some issues.
But you know Ben's a great guy. He's a great actor.
Speaker 1 (10:40):
But we knew this when she married. Yes, right, they
didn't get married the first time the.
Speaker 2 (10:44):
Second time around. How many marriages has she had?
Speaker 6 (10:47):
Four? Six engagements? This was the backup dancer Chris Josha.
Speaker 2 (10:53):
Yeah, and then she was did she ever marry a Rod?
Speaker 3 (10:57):
No engage?
Speaker 2 (10:58):
Yeah?
Speaker 9 (11:00):
Wow, good morning everybody. Yeah, Jennifer Lopez, I would be
asking for my money back.
Speaker 1 (11:07):
I'm sorry.
Speaker 4 (11:08):
That is not.
Speaker 9 (11:10):
That doesn't sound good and she should just stick to
the acting. I think she's a great actress. Actually, I
loved Enough. I thought that was a great movie.
Speaker 10 (11:18):
It's one of my.
Speaker 9 (11:19):
Favorite movies actually. And that no, I just it sounds
like we're listening to somebody on the voice. I mean,
it's bad enough.
Speaker 2 (11:29):
Good movie.
Speaker 5 (11:29):
Yeah, it was bad, you know. I like The Wedding Planner.
I thought it was really good.
Speaker 6 (11:33):
There's so many great movies that she's in it. I
will sit down for a Jala movie. I won't sit
down for a j Low concert.
Speaker 2 (11:40):
Which one was the Hotel made?
Speaker 5 (11:42):
That was the Wedding Planner? Okay, Manhattan? And then the
Wedding Planner?
Speaker 2 (11:49):
And Watch Your Dance Monster a lot.
Speaker 3 (11:53):
That was a decent movie, really.
Speaker 2 (11:55):
And what was the one where she was having sex
with the kid next door?
Speaker 11 (11:58):
Oh?
Speaker 6 (11:59):
Girl next more, next kid, next boy, next door, boy
next door. Yeah, you know, there's really a lot of
string a hat. She's beautiful, she's successful, she's all these things.
Speaker 2 (12:09):
Well, now she's got the breakup song, and you know what,
that's gonna be our topic this morning from.
Speaker 3 (12:14):
The Planet Fitness Kiss one Away Studios. But we're back
with the Villy and Lisa in the morning.
Speaker 5 (12:21):
Kiss Now the entertainment updates with a Billy Consta.
Speaker 2 (12:25):
Okay, we've got to start with sports. Why not. The
Red Sox are and have been on fire. They won
their six game in the row last night, beating the Royals.
They got five runs in the first inning, sparked by
a three run home run by Jaron Duran dead away
center failed. It's about turning. She's gone. Tara Durrant crushing
(12:50):
on the center had a red Sox right away five
and there you go five runs and there on fire.
Yeah right now. They'll play the Royals again tonight. But
how about the brain treat little leaguers. They beat Vermont
ten nothing yesterday. Wow, yeah, twenty five runs in two games.
(13:12):
They haven't allowed a run total bagels.
Speaker 3 (13:16):
Yeah, totally right.
Speaker 2 (13:18):
We got a couple of the.
Speaker 10 (13:19):
Kids league after the three runs in what the second
in thing? I felt like we had a good lead, Yeah, well,
he said, after like the three old lead, I feel
like we had the momentum to pull off fullin.
Speaker 3 (13:33):
They'll play at seven o'clock Thursday.
Speaker 2 (13:35):
Night, Primetime. They play Now, they're playing the winner of
Vermont in New Hampshire for the New England Championship and
if they win that they go to Williamsport in the
World Series.
Speaker 3 (13:45):
Yeah they go.
Speaker 2 (13:47):
Wow, just crazy. But primetime Thursday night, here we go
the little leaguers out of brain.
Speaker 3 (13:53):
I have a really good feeling about this.
Speaker 2 (13:55):
Yeah, they're just amazing. I've never seen anything like this.
I'm so excited as a little league foah, yeah, talk
about hot Pats. Yeah who. Meantime, the Patriots have their
first preseason game Friday Night, Pats and the Commanders coach
Mike Rabel seeing a lot of improvements.
Speaker 12 (14:11):
I see him get guys in the right formations or
tell guys that, hey you're off the ball, you're on
the ball, or hey you're over here doing that quickly
as before. Sometimes the young quarterbacks they're just focused on
the plate or focused on the cadence and not focused
on sideline a sideline.
Speaker 2 (14:28):
And I think that that's starting to improve. Yeah, he says,
Drake May's looking very comfortable on the field. I'm telling you,
I'm starting to get a good feeling about the Patriots.
Speaker 13 (14:37):
Why not.
Speaker 2 (14:38):
Yeah, Well, we'll get our first taste Friday night, Right,
let's go. The Brady statue gets unveiled Friday before the game.
By the way, the parking lots will open at three
point thirty, the doors will open at five, and the
ceremony is set for six o'clock. And Jack, yeah, I know,
Justin keeps asking me, so, is your son Chris going
(14:59):
to the statue? And I gotta believe yes, unless he's
opening another store somewhere in the country. You got to
ask him. Yeah, I'm genuinely curious. So we'll call him
this morning. He seems to be Tom's best bud. Is
he he posted about a thousand pictures hanging out with him.
Speaker 6 (15:13):
Yeah, not only that Tom now reposts him, He's now
likes him enough to repost him. How many people tagg
Tom Brady and thinks he's not reposting.
Speaker 2 (15:26):
Yeah, let's go. But he's been to the house in Miami.
Speaker 1 (15:29):
Oh wow, this is good stuff.
Speaker 2 (15:31):
Yeah, that's a comfort zone right there. Uh Meantime, Max
Crosby from the Raiders, he's one of the hottest players
in football, says he went to high school with post Malone.
Speaker 11 (15:42):
We grew up in the same area. We've known each
other since high school. It's crazy, like when he blew
up with White iverson Like, I remember being in the
parking lot, listened to it with my best friend Nick,
who we used to make music together, and they have
maybe three hundred views at the time on the drop
and we're in the parking lot. He's like, oh, we
got to listen to this. So we listened to it
a few.
Speaker 14 (15:58):
Times with like this is fire.
Speaker 11 (16:00):
By noon that day Mac Miller Whiskey leave all of them,
starts tweeting Adham and it just went to the moon.
So He's a good buddy of mine and I'm proud
of them for sure.
Speaker 3 (16:08):
I love that connection.
Speaker 2 (16:10):
Max Crosby, Yeah, imagine that's cool.
Speaker 3 (16:12):
That's so cool.
Speaker 6 (16:12):
Imagine you went to school with Maxby Crosby and post Malone.
Speaker 2 (16:16):
Yeah. Probably see some of those people come forward now, Yeah, definitely.
By the way, I went to school with both of them. Uh.
So there there was a private party we knew nothing
about at Encore Boston Harbor this past weekend, Lisa, you
came in telling me about it.
Speaker 15 (16:32):
So we had a.
Speaker 3 (16:33):
Nanny for eight years, Geraldine.
Speaker 5 (16:35):
She works for a different family now down in the
South Shore, and I was talking to her yesterday. She's like, yeah,
my boss was invited to this private event at Encore.
Speaker 3 (16:45):
And guess who showed up.
Speaker 5 (16:46):
She goes, Elton John is there and Gracie Abrams and performed,
and Julian Edelman was there, and the woman that she
works for is in the healthcare field. But she said
it was a philanthropic couple put this together. It was
in total secrecy, and yeah, I don't know how they
got Elton John in and out, but Bob Kraft was
(17:06):
there and yeah, it was an incredible event.
Speaker 2 (17:09):
Now, how did they pull it off with nobody going
to the party knowing who was performing.
Speaker 3 (17:13):
I have no idea, but that's very cool.
Speaker 2 (17:17):
We actually have a clip of Gracie Abrams performing before
Elton John.
Speaker 3 (17:21):
Yeah, they had no idea when they were going to Encore.
What was happening?
Speaker 2 (17:24):
Wow, you know what we just did. We just took
everybody to the party. Docy yesterday announcing a new tour
the US, Canada, Europe and Australia. She's going to bring
that tour to Boston October nineteenth. MGM Music Hall. That
seems like a small venue for her.
Speaker 1 (17:43):
You know what, I think it's a sure thing.
Speaker 14 (17:45):
You know.
Speaker 6 (17:45):
I think artists now get in the habit of going
too big, too fast, and then they can't sell out.
The ticket prices are astronomical, So I think a smaller,
you know, place is better.
Speaker 2 (17:58):
I'll tell you it's a great, great venue, Si Doci
Are you kidding me? She's amazing, amazing. That's October nineteenth,
by their way in or check out tickets. Ed Sheer
and dropping another new song this coming Thursday. It's called
a Little More. Yeah. We like that song. I like that. Yeah,
that's a nice vibe. Chapel Roone just dropped her new
song the Subway. We knew that it's creating quite a
(18:20):
buzz though in Saskatchewan because in the song she talks
about moving to Saskatchewan.
Speaker 1 (18:27):
Move to Saskatchewan.
Speaker 3 (18:30):
Fun there. I think she sounds very fun.
Speaker 1 (18:33):
Yeah, I think she sees a word that went with Meay, well.
Speaker 2 (18:38):
I'll tell you. It's getting a lot of buzz online.
People are searching Saskatchewan and in Saskatchewan. I just want
to keep saying that I love that word Sasketchewan. They're
launching a whole new marketing campaign because of the song
to Saskatchewan. Yeah have you been come to Saskatchewan and
(18:59):
a chapel, And says even though she's dropped a couple
of songs recently, the new album's not going to come
for a long time. She says, keep in mind the
first album took her five years.
Speaker 3 (19:11):
Yeah, she's going to go under the hood.
Speaker 5 (19:13):
So that's why she's going to be doing a few
pop up performances first, you know, for this new song,
and then she's going away for a while to work
on the album.
Speaker 2 (19:20):
Oh There You Go. And the new movie Weapons with
Julia Garner and Josh Brolin comes out this coming Friday.
Remember Mark the movie Nerd. He's our guy on the
Billy and Lisa Show. He predicted this movie Weapons was
going to be a monster.
Speaker 4 (19:33):
It's a movie called Weapons, and Julia Garner's in it,
Josh Berlin, and it's a horror movie and it's it's
really creepy. It's what takes place when seventeen kids disappear
and they're all from the same classroom, and Julia Gardner's
character is the teacher. Oh and at night they disappear
(19:54):
and then they come back not quite the same.
Speaker 1 (19:58):
I want to say, it looks really interesting.
Speaker 5 (20:00):
And I love going to the movies. Yeah, I love
sitting in those showcase big seats.
Speaker 2 (20:05):
Well, Julia Gardner was on Colbert and even she had
a tough time explaining this movie.
Speaker 3 (20:10):
How do I describe Weapons?
Speaker 5 (20:11):
I mean, it's not like anything I've ever seen or
read before, so it's kind of it's really hard to describe.
Speaker 1 (20:17):
You just kind of have to watch it.
Speaker 3 (20:18):
It's like a Marvel movie. You can't really describe it.
Speaker 2 (20:22):
And it's pretty funny. During the interview on Colbert, Josh Brolin,
her close star, by the way, one of my favorite actors.
He's amazing. He sent a video message in during the interview.
Speaker 15 (20:31):
Steven Josh, nice to our girl.
Speaker 4 (20:35):
She's a really sweet girl and she's really really good
in this movie.
Speaker 2 (20:39):
I hope you saw the movie.
Speaker 14 (20:41):
And I also I want to say, how's your boat job?
Speaker 15 (20:45):
You'll be able to spend more time on the boat.
Speaker 8 (20:48):
But I have an offer for you when I see it.
Speaker 2 (20:51):
So I just know that, Okay, I'd like him. He's good.
He plays a really good bad guy in some movies.
Jenna Ortega on Good Morning Good this Week talking about
season two of Wednesday, which starts tomorrow Wednesday on Netflix.
Speaker 10 (21:06):
It's just like darker, bigger, better, We pretty much. I
think we had a lot more trust from Netflix this
time around. And you know, we had such an incredible
reaction to the first season that we just wanted to,
you know, like we're trying to give them something good.
Speaker 3 (21:20):
I can't wait for this.
Speaker 2 (21:21):
Oh yeah, tomorrow night. Lady Gaga is going to release
a new song for season two of Wednesday. She's in it, right,
Lady Gaga? Is she in the series the new season?
Speaker 3 (21:30):
I believe so?
Speaker 2 (21:31):
Yeah, yeah, okay, And Benson Boone says his dream collaborations
would be Bruno Mars or do a lipa.
Speaker 3 (21:41):
Do alipa?
Speaker 2 (21:42):
Uh huh, I like that and Beyonce they say, may
release a rock song next.
Speaker 1 (21:47):
Oh She's just everywhere genre, isn't she?
Speaker 11 (21:51):
I Love Billy and Lisa Kiss One to Wait.
Speaker 2 (21:54):
So we're talking about breakup songs because j Loo came
up with one. This came out of left field, didn't
she long in Spain at to show there least.
Speaker 5 (22:02):
It's called Wreckage of You. It's definitely about Ben Affleck.
It's very soulful. She said it came to her in
the middle of the night. So yeah, so that's the
jumping off point. What's your favorite breakup song?
Speaker 2 (22:11):
And it seems to come quite a bit of time
after the breakup, it doesn't It usually come out a
little sooner than this.
Speaker 5 (22:17):
Well, it depends on the artist. Obviously this took a
little time for her. She's had a lot of pain,
she's been doing a lot of healing and that's all
in the song lyrics.
Speaker 2 (22:26):
Yeah, and she told the story on stage in Spain.
So it gets your thinking right. It begs the question,
what's the best or worst breakup song of all time?
Everybody's got them.
Speaker 5 (22:36):
Well, there's like a sad breakup song, and then there's
an anthem where it's like you figure out you're probably
better off. So like since you've been gone by Kelly Clarkson,
crimea River, you want to know Alanis Morrisse.
Speaker 2 (22:49):
Oh god, that was an angry one.
Speaker 5 (22:51):
Anthems Yeah, thank you, Next, Ariana Flowers, Miley Cyrus.
Speaker 2 (22:57):
Wow boy, those are all good ones. But I ought
to know that that was right? Yeah, that if hard
the best? Wow. Yeah, So you're right. The some are
anthems and some are just well, it's a breakup song.
We broke up. Let's tell the story exactly. So we're
reaching out to people. Everybody's got an opinion on this again.
The number to call six one seven, nine thirty one
(23:18):
one to one eight, or they can send us talk packs.
Speaker 4 (23:21):
Justin best anger breakup song.
Speaker 3 (23:27):
I saw her perform that when it first came out.
Speaker 2 (23:30):
I did too good one. Oh yeah, the mess you
left when you went away? Oh boy.
Speaker 6 (23:36):
The best breakup song that comes to mind is Gives
You How by the All American Rejects.
Speaker 3 (23:42):
I used to belt that in college.
Speaker 2 (23:45):
When you see my face, I hope it gives you back.
Speaker 3 (23:49):
You know what else?
Speaker 2 (23:50):
I love?
Speaker 5 (23:50):
I love Taylor Swift's we Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.
Speaker 2 (23:53):
That's a good one.
Speaker 3 (23:54):
Yeah, that's pretty strong.
Speaker 2 (23:56):
Yeah, that pretty much says it all.
Speaker 5 (23:58):
Yeah, what do you guys think about before she Carrie Underwood? Definitely,
definitely that one, just bled anger.
Speaker 2 (24:07):
Yeah, you know what, you could feel her digging in
the side of the car with the key in that.
Speaker 3 (24:14):
I actually see her doing it in this song.
Speaker 11 (24:16):
Yes, I mean, when it comes to breakup songs, is
there anything more classic than Careless Whisper?
Speaker 8 (24:24):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (24:24):
I love that song?
Speaker 3 (24:25):
Yeah, Oh I miss George Michaels.
Speaker 2 (24:27):
Very emotional. It was very emotional, but there were so
many of them boys, some really good ones to get
the message across. Six point seven nine three eight or
justin send it talk back right, you do it on
the iHeart apt just look at that little microphone button.
Speaker 5 (24:42):
Now it's topic time with Billy and Lisa in the morning.
Speaker 2 (24:48):
So we started a conversation about breakup songs because j
Lo out of Nowhere at least to a breakup song,
it's clearly about She and Ben Affleck really did it
for the first time, introduced it for the first time
in Pain Don't Forget. She also had a cancel her
whole tour, and now she's got a Vegas residency in
a movie coming out. Anyway, everybody's got a favorite breakup song.
(25:08):
Where do we want to start? You want to start
with talkbacks? Justin talk back, we have, we have some calls.
All right, let's go to the phones, and we're going
to start with Kerrie, Carrie, good morning.
Speaker 13 (25:23):
Good morning, How are you good?
Speaker 2 (25:25):
What have you got for a breakup song? Give us one,
give us a good one, so I.
Speaker 13 (25:29):
Don't condone it. But Mark Tina McBride Independence Day where
she lights up the sky like the fourth of July
because she burns the house down with him in it.
Speaker 2 (25:40):
Okay, that's all right, Okay, I'm sorry. I know the song.
I've heard the song, I've sung along with the song.
I didn't know she talks about burning his house down
with him in it.
Speaker 3 (25:52):
Yeah, I don't know that either.
Speaker 13 (25:54):
It's domestic violence, about domestic violance.
Speaker 2 (26:00):
Yeah, I carry. Well, there's kind of a dark start
to the I know. Yeah, you did apologize in advance.
But that's good. All right. Let's go to Rebecca next. Rebecca,
what have they got for us?
Speaker 13 (26:13):
Totally different angle, but Snead O'Connor nothing compared.
Speaker 6 (26:17):
Yeah, no better breakup song.
Speaker 2 (26:19):
Oh that was a powerful song. See I didn't even
know that was a breakup song.
Speaker 3 (26:24):
Well, I mean if you to the lyrics.
Speaker 2 (26:27):
Yeah, it's called nothing Compares to You.
Speaker 3 (26:29):
Right.
Speaker 6 (26:29):
There's different angles to break up songs, like least they're
saying earlier, this is the anthem. There's like the I
Messed up as the one that like you miss them, Like,
there's so many angles.
Speaker 1 (26:38):
You can take.
Speaker 5 (26:38):
There's one like I am better off without you, like
the Flowers Miley Cyrus.
Speaker 2 (26:42):
Yeah, good morning guys.
Speaker 10 (26:45):
My favorite breakup song is One Last Time by Ariana Grande.
Speaker 2 (26:51):
It's a good one. Who was she singing about?
Speaker 1 (26:53):
Who knows? She had so many breakups? But Highlight Zone
is my new favorite breakup song from her. It's such
a good song and we just played it.
Speaker 2 (27:01):
Yeah, we're playing it currently right, Twilight's on. That's the
latest single. It's got to be hard when you've got
a lot of breakups, you got to come up with
a lot of songs. Let's go to Kate next on
the phones. Kate, good morning, what have you got for us?
Speaker 13 (27:13):
Whitney Houston. It's not right, but it's okay.
Speaker 3 (27:15):
It's all you're so right, and I'm glad you called it.
Speaker 5 (27:20):
I forgot about that the best.
Speaker 3 (27:24):
Yeah, it's not right, but it's okay. I'm gonna make
it a.
Speaker 2 (27:31):
Wow. Yeah. I Don't with You by Big Sean was like,
oh yeah.
Speaker 10 (27:38):
Oh g breakup anthem in college.
Speaker 2 (27:40):
That is one Big Sean.
Speaker 6 (27:42):
Yeah, it's a rappy I don't mess with you anymore swear.
Speaker 4 (27:50):
Right.
Speaker 2 (27:51):
Yeah, that laid it down.
Speaker 13 (27:55):
That's a breakup song.
Speaker 8 (27:56):
The thing that comes to mind is JoJo's Leave.
Speaker 13 (28:01):
I think that's a good one.
Speaker 3 (28:02):
Leave get out, Yeah, to be gone.
Speaker 6 (28:05):
Early two thousands pops, when like twelve year olds are
singing about like breakups that they never had experience.
Speaker 2 (28:11):
And that got right to the point's driver's license. Who
was that song about?
Speaker 1 (28:20):
Josh something and.
Speaker 3 (28:23):
Carpenter?
Speaker 5 (28:23):
Yeah Carpenter really, Yes, there was a little love triangle.
Speaker 10 (28:29):
It's been she's.
Speaker 5 (28:30):
Been inserting herself in different ways and like remember the
Shawn Mendes and Kamila Cabello triangle as well.
Speaker 2 (28:37):
All right with the song taste, Oh that's right, taste
me when you're kissing him.
Speaker 3 (28:45):
Yeah, I love that, you know that.
Speaker 2 (28:46):
One of the most classic lines on the song ever,
Can you taste me when he's kissing you.
Speaker 14 (28:52):
Up with a caddy here. Not a breakup song, but
I went through a rough breakup when Taylor Swiss Love
Story came out, and I love that song. I just
remember listening to that song about you being like, where's
my love story?
Speaker 4 (29:06):
Oh?
Speaker 15 (29:08):
He sounds so nice, right, and he sounds like he's
looking for love.
Speaker 2 (29:13):
He does.
Speaker 3 (29:14):
He seems very sensitive.
Speaker 2 (29:15):
That was a good one. Let's go to Anna on
the phone. God, we're getting a lot of calls, a
lot of talkbacks, and I give us.
Speaker 13 (29:20):
One irreplaceable by Beyonce.
Speaker 1 (29:24):
That's a good one.
Speaker 3 (29:26):
Left powerful and.
Speaker 1 (29:28):
She said, yep, everything you own in the box to.
Speaker 16 (29:30):
The lost, Yeah, everything in a box.
Speaker 2 (29:45):
Who was she singing about.
Speaker 1 (29:47):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (29:49):
Maybe it was just an anthem for everybody who's breaking up. Yeah,
there's your box.
Speaker 4 (29:55):
You guys.
Speaker 15 (29:55):
Good morning. So best breakup song. I don't know how
to say his name. I think it's Amen, but maybe Emon.
You definitely can't play it on the air, but don't
want You're back? And the one where the girl responds
to it too, Yeah, girl break god total man.
Speaker 1 (30:11):
That was like two thousand and two.
Speaker 2 (30:14):
And who was it imon? Emon?
Speaker 1 (30:16):
Yeah, it's like E A M O N or something
like that.
Speaker 3 (30:18):
After a breakup and just get it all out.
Speaker 15 (30:21):
Listen to a Tony Braxton song how could an Angel
break my heart? Unbreak my heart?
Speaker 9 (30:28):
Oh yeah?
Speaker 4 (30:29):
Put that on, get it out, get the tub of
ice cream, call your girlfriends. The next day you'll feel better.
