Speaker 1 (00:01):
A day.

Speaker 2 (00:02):
Now, this is Billy and Lisa in the Morning Kiss.

Speaker 3 (00:13):
I never noticed in the open to the Billy and
Lisa Morning Show, does somebody say, come on drink up?

Speaker 4 (00:18):
They do?

Speaker 1 (00:19):
Come on drink up. I mean it's like drink up your.

Speaker 5 (00:21):
Coffee or something else, depending on a shot of whiskey
and get you going. On a Monday. What's the weather
going to do today?

Speaker 1 (00:31):
It's like sunny and cold and windy.

Speaker 5 (00:35):
God, it's been a cold.

Speaker 1 (00:36):
It's still January.

Speaker 6 (00:38):
Yeah, week of January.

Speaker 3 (00:43):
Oh man, crazy weekend. Lot of football. Yesterday. We know
who's in the Super Bowl. Now it's going to be
the Chiefs and the Eagles. The Eagles crushed my command
you know what. I'm definitely the mush. I know you
say it all the time, Justine, but I was backing
the Commanders and the Bills me too, Okay, and both lost.

Speaker 1 (01:08):
Well, I'm from Philly. I grew up in you know,
I was born in Philly, so I was totally rooting
for the Eagles. But everyone else in my family were
the Commander So I was glad.

Speaker 5 (01:16):
Yeah, they that happened.

Speaker 1 (01:18):
They have such an insane fan base, the Eagles. That's
why I wanted them in the Super Bowl.

Speaker 5 (01:23):
Yeah. So I came in.

Speaker 3 (01:24):
It was very dark out when I got here, and
Justin and I were in the coffee room, you know,
toward the front of the office.

Speaker 5 (01:31):
Are you really going to start with this? Yes?

Speaker 6 (01:33):
Oh, I can't wait to hear this story.

Speaker 3 (01:35):
So just a couple of gentlemen after a huge football Sunday.

Speaker 5 (01:40):
Right, Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:41):
I walk in and I put my stuff down. We
start making coffee and we're talking about the games, and
I said, God, that first down call midway through the game,
the Chiefs and the Bills again, of course it goes toward,
you know, in favor of the Chiefs, so I turned
it off. But we're talking about the game and the
refs in the previous game and the Eagles and everything else,

(02:04):
and literally sixty seconds into the conversation, Justin cuts me off, right,
literally aggressively cut me off.

Speaker 5 (02:14):
And said, yeah, but did you see Taylor's jacket?

Speaker 7 (02:19):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (02:19):
What did you think about Taylor's jacket?

Speaker 6 (02:22):
I did like her jacket.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
Yeah, I posted it last night. It wasn't Louis Via
the whole half.

Speaker 3 (02:28):
It was Louis Okay, we were in the middle of
a football conversation.

Speaker 5 (02:32):
Yeah, but you're gay.

Speaker 6 (02:34):
So it's like.

Speaker 1 (02:37):
Me, I didn't bring up Taylor's jacket. That's what I
wanted to talk about. I left her outfit. She had
the red tights on.

Speaker 5 (02:44):
Oh my god. That's where he said he was just
trying to relate to what you would talk about, you know,
football talk. I don't know. Are you out of your
I was the football talker, I know, but I thought
you were a little out of your elements. So I
tried to bring you back.

Speaker 3 (02:59):
No, you wouldn't let me talk football because you wanted
to talk about Taylor's jacket and her red tights. Like
in a million years, I could care less what Taylor
Swift is wearing.

Speaker 1 (03:09):
Oh I love seeing her walk in outfit. Oh like
walking down the tunnel.

Speaker 5 (03:13):
Yeah I did so. I saw a story that that
social media was split on the jackets, some hating it,
some loved it. I liked it. So I was just
trying to relate to Bill.

Speaker 3 (03:21):
And it's funny, Wait a minute, you got to stop
pointing the finger at me.

Speaker 5 (03:25):
You were the gay one.

Speaker 8 (03:26):
I think he felt like you were trying to like
go out of your comfort zone, like hey buddy, And
then you see that game that was a mess.

Speaker 5 (03:33):
I'm very comfortable with football. I'm a sports guy.

Speaker 1 (03:35):
But iraly, you turned it off.

Speaker 3 (03:38):
He turned down because I was pissed off. The refs
gave the call again to Patrick Mahomes. I'm like, clearly
it was a first down for the Bills.

Speaker 8 (03:47):
Yes, no, there was some description unbelievable. But anyway, how
about that jacket?

Speaker 6 (03:51):
Bill? You like it?

Speaker 9 (03:54):
Now?

Speaker 3 (03:54):
I can't stop looking at the jackets.

Speaker 6 (03:58):
I thought, I who was cute? I saw no issue
with it.

Speaker 3 (04:00):
Oh, fine, she had a cute outfit on. She's a
two time billionaire. Yeah, she can wear anything she want.
Why am I yelling?

Speaker 5 (04:08):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (04:08):
You're so angry this?

Speaker 3 (04:10):
No, you guys work me up every morning. I was
crazy until I met you guys.

Speaker 5 (04:17):
You've been crazy for many years. But yeah, I listen.
The Bills had every opportunity to win the game. There
was some questionable calls, as always, but they could have
went down and won it at the end. It's true
the defense showed up for the Chiefs.

Speaker 8 (04:30):
I will say some of the penalties that the Bills
got like that messed up for them was actually like
legit their fault, Like they were penalties that should have
been called that.

Speaker 1 (04:40):
You know, it was a great game.

Speaker 5 (04:42):
They could have won. They would have they did. Yeah,
they didn't win.

Speaker 1 (04:45):
Poor Bills fans, Well, well, poor Dave Portnoy. He put
all his money on the Bills and that didn't work out.

Speaker 5 (04:52):
Not not at all. No, I saw I saw barstool
posted after Josh Allen looking sad on the side he
lost the championship game. Until you remember that he's marrying
Harry Hailey Steiner.

Speaker 3 (05:08):
Oh man, So we've got an interesting topic for the
show this morning, justin You came up with it earlier
this morning, right after your Taylor rant.

Speaker 7 (05:17):
You.

Speaker 3 (05:17):
Uh, the ground Round is coming back.

Speaker 5 (05:20):
I'm so excited. You remember the ground Round. Yeah, so
they've they've been gone for a long time and they're
opening up again soon. And I thought to myself, wow,
and all the memories of being a kid with my family,
and I started thinking about all the other older restaurants
and stores that I grew up going to and eating at,
and I was like, oh, imagine bringing them back to

(05:42):
You know what.

Speaker 3 (05:43):
I remember most about the Ground Round, it's the chewing
screw there all.

Speaker 6 (05:50):
Okay, because you didn't pay for your food.

Speaker 5 (05:53):
Because Uncle Bill over here, I remember the rilled cheese
at the Ground Round The grilled cheese was the best
I've ever even better free oh god. But yeah, that's
a good topic, right. What's someplace that you grew up

(06:13):
as a kid a little bit older going to that
you would want to come back? We'll do that at
seven fifteen this morning, get your talkbacks in. I'll give
us a call.

Speaker 3 (06:21):
Entertainment is up next, we'll hear from Travis Kelsey.

Speaker 1 (06:24):
From the Planet Fitness Kiss one O eight Studios.

Speaker 5 (06:27):
We're back with Villy and Lisa in the morning. Kiss
Hey guys for welcome back.

Speaker 3 (06:33):
And it's Monday morning. Gonna be cold today.

Speaker 1 (06:36):
It's gonna be the same sunny, cold, windy. You know
it's January if you can still believe it.

Speaker 5 (06:41):
Start of another week.

Speaker 3 (06:44):
We know the Chiefs and the Eagles will be in
the Super Bowl and we'll get to that in all
the other entertainment in just a couple of seconds, but
justin you want to get a couple of talkbacks in.

Speaker 5 (06:54):
Brother ooh, I love this, so our topic of the
day will do that at seven fifteen. What restaurant or
business did you grow up going to in Massachusetts? You know,
New England, I should say that you would like to
come back because the ground round is reopening after decades
of being closed. They're already coming in to get yours
in on the top. Back Mike on the iHeartRadio app.

(07:15):
You just listened to us live. Tap the red microphone
and leave your message. So seven fifteen for that.

Speaker 10 (07:21):
But in the meantime, morning guys, this is Carlos Happy Monday,
reporting from the Caribbean. I still got one more monthly
in the Dominican Republic. Trump to pis stuff set up,
so when I come in two years. Well, anyways, it's
not about that anyways, coming.

Speaker 7 (07:37):
Out of the gym.

Speaker 5 (07:38):
This full the people that decided to.

Speaker 10 (07:39):
Go to the gym at the beginning of the year.

Speaker 5 (07:42):
Let's push it.

Speaker 7 (07:42):
Let's keep pushing.

Speaker 10 (07:44):
It's not easy, but it's not impossible. I'm here in
the Caribbean and I'm still going to the gym.

Speaker 7 (07:48):
Let's get it.

Speaker 5 (07:49):
Love it, love it. Yeah, stay with that, love it.
If you don't stop going, you never have to start again.
That's what I used to tell myself. Yeah, thanks to
get into it. Right. Why is he there for two
oh so, Carlos, so he's going to retire there, So
I think he's in finance, crypto maybe or investments. Now
he is setting up his life, his retirement life in

(08:10):
the Caribbean. He's like forty and he's young.

Speaker 1 (08:13):
It's a dream.

Speaker 5 (08:14):
Yeah. There's another kid at my Jim who retired at
forty from investments. He now he day trades. Wow. Yeah,
he's the one that told me two years ago to
buy crypto and to hold it until the election this
year in twenty twenty four, and I didn't listen, and
I would have had oh yeah, thirty grand Oh boy. Yeah,
it's tough.

Speaker 3 (08:34):
A lot of people made money on that Trump coin
that they popped a well that's.

Speaker 1 (08:37):
What Dave Portnoy parlayed that into the million dollar bet.

Speaker 5 (08:40):
Yeah, and then well that's that didn't happen, that didn't
go well. He's upset. We'll hear from him right now.

Speaker 3 (08:47):
Yow.

Speaker 5 (08:47):
The entertainment updates with the Billy Hops. Yeah, we'll start
with the Super Bowl. It's going to be the Chiefs
and the Eagles.

Speaker 3 (08:54):
Chiefs then inched past the Bills last night thirty two
to twenty nine, which gets them to the Super Bowl
and gets them a shot at history winning three Super
Bowls in a row.

Speaker 5 (09:05):
This was Patrick Mahone's ultimate goal.

Speaker 11 (09:07):
Yet it's to be a great challenge for us with Philadelphia,
and so I'm excited for the guys preparing and get
to New Orleans and put up our best shot.

Speaker 3 (09:14):
Yeah, Josh Allen close, but no win.

Speaker 12 (09:16):
It's not fun. But to beat the champion, to be
the champion, had beat the champis and we didn't do it.

Speaker 5 (09:25):
I didn't do it tonight. Nobody lost bigger than Dave Portnoy.
He bet a million dollars that the Bills would win it.

Speaker 4 (09:31):
All the refs prison. The ref's absolutely prison on that
touch push. They got to be in prison in number two.
McDermott asked me in prison the touch push. They don't
know how to do the touch push.

Speaker 5 (09:48):
Yeah, they tried it several times.

Speaker 8 (09:49):
It didn't seem to for conversion thing like, I don't
know how you messed that up.

Speaker 3 (09:54):
Yeah, well, the touch push is supposed to go dead
ahead and everybody pushes you. But Josh Allen kept turning
left the George Bush.

Speaker 5 (10:01):
Yeah, one of those was questionable though looked like it
should have been a first down. Yeah. Yeah, again, they
had a chance to win it at the end. They
had the final drive, the Brady drives, and the Chiefs
came up big on defense.

Speaker 8 (10:11):
Has been the whole season for the Chiefs, so barely winning?

Speaker 1 (10:14):
Yeah, every game the way the Patriots did it.

Speaker 5 (10:18):
Yeah, I think we went a little bit more.

Speaker 1 (10:20):
Yeah but still Yeah.

Speaker 3 (10:22):
By the way, Portnoir last night tweeted he's done with football.

Speaker 6 (10:26):
Okay, he says that right now.

Speaker 3 (10:28):
And Travis Kelcey didn't see much action in the game,
but he was down there celebrating after ever satisfied.

Speaker 5 (10:35):
Baby, when you're play in front of Arrowhead Stadium like
this every single AFC championship You kidding me, Pansy, sit
up all right before you got get out of here,
just doing him, make a little love, get.

Speaker 13 (10:51):
Down to night, all right, that's right, little Casey in
the sunshine.

Speaker 3 (11:02):
Yeah, ah, Travis Kelsey, boy, he didn't even need to
take a shower after the game.

Speaker 5 (11:08):
I mean, you didn't have to wash the uniform. He
had one catch and didn't do it drop a drop catch.

Speaker 6 (11:14):
Yeah, they didn't really go to him at all.

Speaker 5 (11:16):
No, they haven't been going to him much at all.

Speaker 6 (11:18):
Well, he was being double team for a while, so
that probably would do with it.

Speaker 5 (11:21):
Well, not being double team anymore. When he was doing that,
you know, Casey get down tonight. They cut to Taylor
on the field and she was just smiling. Do you
think there's any sense of embarrassment when he does that? Uh?
They used to know.

Speaker 3 (11:37):
They suggested it early on when he first started doing
it and first started dating Taylor, that she was embarrassed
by his behavior.

Speaker 6 (11:43):
I think she.

Speaker 1 (11:45):
Loves every single piece of him.

Speaker 6 (11:47):
I do.

Speaker 1 (11:48):
You can just tell.

Speaker 6 (11:49):
Yeah, think about it.

Speaker 8 (11:50):
If her first album she was like that nerdy like
you when she was a little, you know, a teenager,
it was all about getting the guy, Like this is
literally what she manifested for herself, which she was like fifteen,
Like she wanted the football player.

Speaker 6 (12:01):
She wanted the guy, and now she has the guy.
I think happy about it.

Speaker 1 (12:10):
I just love seeing Taylor's mom and Travis's mom in
the booth like really getting along well, and they're all
hugging each other like this is family. Like you can
you can tell.

Speaker 3 (12:20):
That's what I love about you. You just love relationships.

Speaker 14 (12:23):
I do.

Speaker 1 (12:24):
But you didn't notice that when they were up in
the booth they were all hugging each other. It was
really like it seems fake.

Speaker 8 (12:32):
I love you I love you because I saw the
same thing, and I read it so differently than You're
so cute.

Speaker 15 (12:37):
You're like, oh they're so, I'm like, oh great, like
all the little group hug with the three brother and
his girlfriend, his mother.

Speaker 1 (12:48):
I did not see that in any other way other
than like they're together.

Speaker 3 (12:53):
I didn't even see the game. I was just focused
on Taylor's jack.

Speaker 1 (12:59):
He was online where can I buy it?

Speaker 5 (13:02):
Yes, I know what you're thinking, but the jacket has vinted.
You won't be able to find one anywhere.

Speaker 3 (13:08):
So the Eagles crushed my commanders. The rooting for the
commanders I probably shouldn't have because I'm the motion. Of
course they I'm fifty five twenty three? Are you kidding me?

Speaker 5 (13:20):
Yeah? This was Jalen Hurts after winning. Success is defined
by that particular individual, and it's all relative to the person.
And what I define it as is.

Speaker 16 (13:30):
Running, and so the number one goal, there's always a
come iron win.

Speaker 5 (13:35):
That's the saddest winning speech I've ever heard. It's the
weirdest winning speech I've ever heard. But by the way,
Sequan Barkley, oh nasty as he oh man, I think.

Speaker 8 (13:45):
Though the commanders with Daniels like he was a rookie.
This year he bawled out, So I think they have.

Speaker 6 (13:49):
A future with him.

Speaker 5 (13:51):
Oh yeah, this kid's good. He's really good.

Speaker 3 (13:54):
Well that's why I had the commanders and then.

Speaker 5 (13:55):
They let me down.

Speaker 8 (13:56):
Yeah, but Hurts is like seasoned at that point when
it comes to that, it's more I think, uh, you know,
I don't know.

Speaker 5 (14:02):
You got to blow your nose over that.

Speaker 6 (14:04):
Oh you want me to stop?

Speaker 3 (14:05):
I can mid show just use the use the cough
butt in then. Anyway, Super Bowl February ninth, and New Orleans.
So the Grammy Awards are coming up this Sunday night.
List of performers announced over the weekend. Billy Eilish, Charlie
x X, Shakira Chapel, Rowin, Sabrina Carpenter, Benson Boone, Teddy

Speaker 6 (14:40):

Speaker 5 (14:44):
I don't think so, are they? Another?

Speaker 3 (14:48):
Miranda Lambert is going to be joining the tour, as
is Thomas Rhett and Swifties from mat On socially because
he named the tour I'm the.

Speaker 5 (14:57):
Problem bad about something.

Speaker 3 (15:02):
It's like they wake up looking to be mad.

Speaker 5 (15:04):
At everybody, Like okay, well, Morgan Wallen really embracing that
bad boy.

Speaker 3 (15:19):
The New Bachelor season starts on ABC tonight.

Speaker 5 (15:22):
I didn't think it was ever coming back.

Speaker 1 (15:24):

was like fifth, you know, came in fifth, very very handsome,
very thirty year old guy. And I think we might
have my son Riley on tomorrow to give us his take.
A girl from Newton on the show, so we need
to watch how she does. Her name is Juliana, Juliana

(15:46):

Speaker 5 (15:51):
Oh Wealth Services.

Speaker 3 (15:52):
Yeah, okay Truliana Yep reports this morning, Selena Gomez is
in talks to play Britney Spears in a biopic.

Speaker 5 (16:00):
I don't see that.

Speaker 1 (16:01):
I don't see that at all.

Speaker 5 (16:03):
Yeah, that's a little weird.

Speaker 6 (16:05):
Yea's coloring right now. I like to coloring. I like
to chase.

Speaker 5 (16:11):
She's kinda start practicing. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (16:14):
Timothy Challow may with the musical guest and the guest
hosts on Saturday Night Live this past weekend. I'm telling
you it was a hilarious episode. The bungee cord workout,
I think the first yeah, and then the people doing.

Speaker 1 (16:27):
Dogs, but that was the best thing I've ever seen
on esen OL in quite a long time.

Speaker 3 (16:32):
And Challo May mentioned Lowell, Massachusetts and an Ai Skip.

Speaker 6 (16:36):
I was just thinking, like, who am I?

Speaker 5 (16:39):
I'm someone who had experienced working in the textile mills
in Lowell, Massachusetts in the eighteen hundreds. What was that
like for you?

Speaker 17 (16:49):
Girl?

Speaker 5 (16:50):
I heard it's dangerous flying.

Speaker 1 (16:53):
Yeah, you definitely don't want to be like me.

Speaker 5 (16:55):
A little girl gets your hair caught in there?

Speaker 7 (16:59):
That's right, I forgot.

Speaker 5 (17:00):
Got little girls works there Lowell.

Speaker 3 (17:03):
Definitely you have to. If you haven't seen that episode,
you have to watch it. It was hilarious. And over
the weekend, j Lo did a surprise performance in a
nightclub in Utah.

Speaker 5 (17:17):
Before you play it, I can't tell if it's the
track player. It's her singing. It does sound good, but
it could be just the track. Okay, what do we

(17:45):
think track? It sounds like a track track.

Speaker 1 (17:48):
It sounds good, especially when you have like ellll come in.

Speaker 6 (17:51):
Yeah it sounds just like that.

Speaker 3 (17:53):
Yeah, I'm surprised people weren't yelling.

Speaker 5 (17:55):
Get her off, turn it off.

Speaker 3 (18:03):
The brit Awards this year are going to honor the
late Liam Payne, and there is a report this morning
suggesting that the tribute might include a one direction reunion.

Speaker 6 (18:14):
Wow, so sad.

Speaker 3 (18:19):
Mark Wahlberg's new movie Flight Risk won the box office
over the weekend, taking in a little more than twelve million. Now,
Mel Gibson directs the movie. I have quick trivia and
anybody named the last movie that Mel Gibson directed, Oh Braveheart.

Speaker 5 (18:37):
He did not direct Ray Bark. He was William Wallace.
It was a long time ago. I don't know what
is it? Hacksaw Ridge. Oh good movie that was nominated too,
I believe. Yeah, he's a great director. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (18:50):
And Lisa, you have a book club announcement.

Speaker 1 (18:52):
Okay, the link is posted on the Kiss instagram on
my Instagram. Go to it because it's going to sell out.
It's with Lisa Genova. She has a new novel out
called More or Less Maddie and we will be at
josson Maine on February twenty six.

Speaker 5 (19:05):
And what's the famous book.

Speaker 1 (19:06):
She had this still Alice. She's a Harvard neuroscientist, so
she's amazing and this is a novel about a young
girl who has some like complex like mental health issues.
But it's like it's really powerful. So get in because
we're gonna have a great discussion.

Speaker 5 (19:23):
Is it Lisa going to commence studio?

Speaker 1 (19:24):
She will if you want her to.

Speaker 5 (19:26):
A scientist. Yeah, I'd love to have a scientist on
this show. It's very high brow for it.

Speaker 6 (19:31):
Very I think it's a shoot low for her.

Speaker 5 (19:33):
Hello, definitely a few down on the ladder.

Speaker 3 (19:40):
She'd be like, really that show we brought to you
by the ninety nine restaurant. Visit the ninety nine Monday
that's today through Wednesday for their newest big deal meal.
Your favorite chicken and sausage Al Foorno is back at
the Nines and for just fourteen ninety nine every Monday
through Wednesday. You gotta love the Nines.

Speaker 5 (20:01):
And there you go.

Speaker 2 (20:10):

with the Villy and Lisa in the morning.

Speaker 5 (20:18):
Hey guys, so welcome back. We know how you feel.

Speaker 3 (20:20):
You're probably up watching the football all night last night,
all day yesterday.

Speaker 5 (20:23):
A lot of football yesterday.

Speaker 3 (20:25):
And the good news is we have ourselves a super
Bowl and it's going to be the Chiefs and the Eagles.
The Chiefs are back.

Speaker 5 (20:37):
They always find a way, don't they.

Speaker 3 (20:39):
You think they'll have like a little cocktail party with
the refs or like little celebratory thing. Thank you so
much for the season, fellas.

Speaker 5 (20:48):
Yeah, this game wasn't as bad as the last one. No,
were some questionable calls. Yeah, they find a way. They
sneak through every time.

Speaker 1 (20:58):
Well, you know win right, Yeah, at.

Speaker 3 (21:01):
Least we're not Dave Portnoy. He lost a million dollars
on the Bills.

Speaker 6 (21:05):
I would love to beat him because he has a
million dollars to lose.

Speaker 5 (21:08):
Yeah, he's got a couple hundred million.

Speaker 6 (21:10):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (21:10):
And I always love how sure he is. You know,
when he does something, he's all in.

Speaker 5 (21:14):
He's usually right. Yes, he wins a lot. Yeah, and
now he's done with football. When I was a kid,
I have memories of the Bills going to the Super
Bowl and losing on multiple years. I don't know if
it was three years, but I remember as a small
child watching the Bills lose in the Super Bowl again.

Speaker 3 (21:33):
Yeah, yeah, close, but no win. Anyway, let's get some
talkbacks in. People are joining in early.

Speaker 5 (21:39):
Yeah, it's a Monday, so it's a good day to
jump on. And if you're listening to the show, thank you,
we appreciate it. Check in, leave a talkback. Like the
Mayor of the South End does every day. He's a
busy body. It takes a lot to beat him, you
know what I mean. It's why he was at Talkbacker
of the Year last year.

Speaker 1 (21:53):
Happy Monday, it's the Mayor of the South End.

Speaker 18 (21:56):
Leave Billy alone. Now everyone knows. I'm the game one
on this show. And I love Taylor Jacket. It was
fabulous and I want to wish everybody National Happy Chocolate
Cake Day. So have a piece of chocolate cake and
stay in from the cold.

Speaker 6 (22:13):
Oh I love chocolate cake.

Speaker 5 (22:15):
Who knew it's.

Speaker 3 (22:16):
A National Chocolate Cake Day.

Speaker 6 (22:18):
You know, he's kind of the chiefs of our show.
He's going for a repeat. I feel like with him
still trying to every day.

Speaker 5 (22:24):
Yeah, I don't know if we can do that, give
him two years in a row? Oh can we? I
guess we set the rules.

Speaker 1 (22:29):
We can do whatever we want.

Speaker 5 (22:31):
Yeah, there's a couple other ones that are that are
up there too, that are Mayor is not going away.

Speaker 6 (22:37):
Yeah, he's like Pat Mahomes with the good rest.

Speaker 5 (22:40):
All right, mister Mayer, we'll keep it.

Speaker 19 (22:42):
Up morning, guys. I was just thinking that Timothy's Challo
May sounds like the second cheapest bottle of wine that
I'll order off the menu. You know, when I go
to a fancy steakhouse, Hei, We're gonna have a bottle
of it.

Speaker 7 (22:54):
Timothy Challo May. Yeah, that's it.

Speaker 19 (22:57):
That's the twenty nineteen vintage. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I think,
thanks so much.

Speaker 3 (23:01):
Yeah, really funny of anybody, Challimy should have a line.

Speaker 8 (23:05):
He really should, especially because he's Timidthay, because you know
he's French, Yeah, France, So it's really timid Ay.

Speaker 5 (23:11):
Tried the latest Hubbly from che What I like about
Timothy Shallo May is, you know, he's one of the
biggest stars in the world right now, you know, legendary actor,
But he seems like such a down to earth kid.
He seems like if you met him, he would talk
to you just like a normal person. I could be wrong,
but I get that vibe from him.

Speaker 3 (23:28):
I liked him a lot on Saturday Night Live the
other night. Isn't he nominated for two movies this year,
Dune and and the Bob Dylan.

Speaker 5 (23:37):
Yes, yep, Dune too, and uh yeah, yeah, I'm telling
you he's going to be a household name. He already is,
but he's going to have a legendary career.

Speaker 1 (23:44):
The Chalo May And he's dating Kylie that's the other.

Speaker 5 (23:48):
Oh, hold on, probably I didn't know that.

Speaker 6 (23:52):
Oh yeah, you did.

Speaker 5 (23:53):
You know, you definitely knew that he's dating a jenneral.

Speaker 1 (23:56):
Well, Kylie was at the Golden Globes with him. They
were all over each other.

Speaker 6 (23:59):
They're on a good year and a half.

Speaker 8 (24:01):
I think they could get engage in the next year.
I mean, he's twenty nine, she's twenty seven. She's already
has two kids, you know what I mean.

Speaker 5 (24:08):
Watch out for that. That clan is kind of a
hard one to marry.

Speaker 1 (24:12):
And all the guys, yeah, they break all the men.

Speaker 6 (24:14):
Yeah, yeah, I know he's well, here's gonna be cursed.
You know, they don't really.

Speaker 5 (24:19):
So this morning we were going over the Entertainer Report
with Billy and you know, there's this new song I'll
called Messi Lola Young. Yeah, and I've been singing in
my head all weekend long and what do you know?
I turn on the talk backs this morning and what
are they talking about?

Speaker 9 (24:34):
Young?

Speaker 20 (24:35):
Morning Morning Show and Happy Monday. I don't know if
you guys have heard the new artist Lily Young in
her song Messy, but it's fabulous. I really hope you
guys start to play it. Her explicit version is obviously
the best, but go ahead and play that radio version
just to check it out.

Speaker 5 (24:51):
Have a great day, Matt Lolla. Young is a young
twenty four year old singer. She's from the UK and
she has a very popular song. It's big on social media.
It's called Me See If you haven't heard.

Speaker 21 (25:00):
It, I.

Speaker 5 (25:13):
Feel like everywhere I turned this weekend I heard the song.

Speaker 1 (25:16):
My son Riley was telling me about this song over
the weekend.

Speaker 5 (25:19):
Yeah, yeah, there was buzz about this song going back,
you know, a couple of months, but it's everywhere on
social media. Producer Riley was showing me videos this morning.
There's a trend on on social media of using the
song with dogs. Yeah I'm so messy with the dog
rolling on the ground and then I'm too clean in
the shower. But yeah, apparently she has a strong accent. Yeah,
apparently her she's sick of her own song. Imagine as

(25:41):
you have a song and you get sick of it.
That's social media.

Speaker 21 (25:44):
I hear that song far too much. I said that
on the fan. I was like, I literally hear it's
too much on that bloody app I'm happy as back
in America. But also like were kinds of thousand things.
But honestly, like like I can't switch off, and I
think I'm on Lowly Young side of TikTok so like
because I like watching one bringing all the comments and

(26:04):
all that kind of thing.

Speaker 5 (26:05):
I just see.

Speaker 21 (26:06):
Yeah, but it's like it's sickening how much to hear
that bloody song. It makes me dislike it. It's like
I don't want to. But I also like, I'm so
happy that it's resonating. It's just like the best feeling
in the world.

Speaker 3 (26:16):
By the way, the song featured on the Kiss Top
thirty Countdown this past weekend.

Speaker 6 (26:20):
I didn't know you guys were playing it.

Speaker 5 (26:22):
Yeah, are you kidding?

Speaker 6 (26:24):
Yeah, I've been on the her side TikTok for a while.

Speaker 5 (26:26):
No, see, she knew about here we Go when Lowly
Young came out of the womb, because she said that
I will say when you played the clip from the song.

Speaker 3 (26:37):
I was looking through the window at producer Riley and
she already knows every single word.

Speaker 5 (26:41):
To the song. Oh yeah, it's a good song. They
got taking you behind the music so funny.

Speaker 1 (26:52):
You hear it like her thick accent, and then you
hear her sing yeah, and you can't it's such a
different person.

Speaker 6 (26:58):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (26:58):
She has the thickest stinguished accents.

Speaker 6 (27:01):
Her style is really interesting.

Speaker 5 (27:04):
She does the whole.

Speaker 8 (27:05):
Like really baggy, like boy like Jeane shorts to her
ankle like over.

Speaker 6 (27:10):
It's almost like knock off Billy Eilis.

Speaker 5 (27:12):
That's why her song is called MESSI Yeah, all right,
coming up next, So a big legendary restaurant is making
a comeback. We are all buzzing about this. Find out
what restaurant it is and what you would want to
come back. You had the chance that discussion in two songs.

Speaker 6 (27:32):
I Kiss Well Billy and Lisa Kiss Good morning morning crew.

Speaker 14 (27:37):
I'm wondering if you guys are talking about the ground
round coming back. Probably most of you are too young
to remember that. Well, except for Billy you probably remember.
But it was a fun restaurant and I'm looking forward
to it being back.

Speaker 5 (27:56):
Yeah, it's breaking news in the food world.

Speaker 1 (27:58):
Right, people can rejoice. If you loved the ground Round,
it was like twenty years ago, it was really popular.
It's coming back. Owners Joe and Nachi Sha are bringing
it back to Grafton Street in Shrewsbury in the next
couple of months.

Speaker 3 (28:14):
So the original ground rounders are still with it.

Speaker 1 (28:18):
I don't know if they're the original, but they're bringing
it back.

Speaker 5 (28:21):
Coming back, buddy.

Speaker 3 (28:22):
There was one right over from Fresh Ponds right the
bridge there.

Speaker 5 (28:27):
Possibly it was one in Melrose, Stoneham on the Fells Way.
That's the one that we went to as kids every
Sunday night. My parents brought me there. They had the
best grilled cheese. Is that what they were famous for?
That's what I liked as a kid.

Speaker 3 (28:39):
But it was basically a burger joint, right, Like.

Speaker 5 (28:41):
Yeah, yeah, like, yeah. It was a good family restaurant.

Speaker 1 (28:46):
It was loud, it was consistent.

Speaker 5 (28:48):
Yeah. I was a loud kid, you know, I was
a kid throwing food around the restaurant. It was perfect
for me, kind of what the ninety nine is now. Yeah,
vibe similar, Yeah, it's similar.

Speaker 22 (28:58):
So excited about the ground I'm coming back. They used
to have the kids.

Speaker 1 (29:03):
Pay what you weigh.

Speaker 22 (29:04):
They had really good deals on like buffalo wings, amazing
white synfandel to dressing and how can you not enter
your meal without having ice cream in a ball cow
that you got to tackle on the.

Speaker 5 (29:18):
Baseball cows right, And they'd pay what you weigh, So
whatever the kid weighed is what you paid. How's a
big deal, especially for poor family. Best ground round memory
was one night a week they had a thing called
pay what you weigh.

Speaker 12 (29:30):
Kids would wear a big sticker on their chests with
their weight and that's what their meal would cost.

Speaker 5 (29:35):
As a little boy, I loved it. My sister had
to do it probably up until eighth grade, just so
we could get a cheaper meal.

Speaker 9 (29:41):
She hated it.

Speaker 5 (29:43):
I can understand why now, but it was a good
time for me. Have a good one. Guys, bring back
the ground round. Yeah it's coming back, buddy.

Speaker 3 (29:49):
So what's the statute of limitations on chew and screw?
Because that's what I remember most about the ground My
brother and I would.

Speaker 8 (29:57):
I think you're fine, mil I think you're okay, Oka,
don't do it again.

Speaker 5 (30:01):
Well I'm not going to do it now. I don't
think you I mean, I would like nothing more he
got arrested for a chewing screw. That would be great, guys.

Speaker 19 (30:10):
The one thing I remember from the ground round is
that when kids went, they had to pay their weight,
which is a pretty good deal for me as a kid,
but actually wouldn't be as pretty these days. I have
a great day.

Speaker 7 (30:22):
Meal.

Speaker 1 (30:23):
I know the food guy getting nabbed for chewing screw.

Speaker 5 (30:27):
Oh I thought I thought it was kidding me. I
could just buy the place right now. So that we
were talking about that story this morning, and that led
to our discussion about you know, what restaurant would you
want to come back that you went to as a kid.
Could be a restaurant, could be a business, any kind

(30:47):
of local New England establishment that has since gone away.
Whinnie would want Bradley's because I.

Speaker 7 (30:54):
Used to.

Speaker 6 (30:56):
Talking about restaurants.

Speaker 8 (30:57):
Bugaboo Creek was my favorite place as k with the
brown bread and then also Hilltop, Yeah that was like
my fancy place.

Speaker 3 (31:05):
Well, yeah, everybody's got one, and that's why we have
topic time on the Billiyon and Lisa The Morning Show.

Speaker 5 (31:11):
What would you like to see come back?

Speaker 3 (31:13):
Is it a restaurant, an ice cream place? Is it
a business, a retail store? Six one seven nine three
one one one justin. They can get the talkbacks into.

Speaker 5 (31:21):
Right yeah on the iHeartRadio app. If you're streaming us,
we appreciate that. Thank you, you leave it. Talk back
it's free. You just tap the red microphone or prompt
you to talk right into your phone nice in loud,
nice and clear, and hear your voice on the radio.
It's pretty cool. Topic time is next.

Speaker 2 (31:37):
Now, it's topic time for the Billy and Lisa in
the Morning.

Speaker 3 (31:42):
All right, So we kicked off a topic a couple
of minutes ago. Lisa had a story about the ground round.
It's coming back.

Speaker 1 (31:46):
It's coming back after twenty years, and it.

Speaker 3 (31:49):
Begs the question do you miss places you'd like to
see come back, whether it's a retail place or a
restaurant or a fast food place. And we have so many,
but so do the listeners of the Billy and Lisa
Morning Show. We're gonna start with Jeff was calling in
for Medway, Massachusetts.

Speaker 5 (32:06):
Good morning, Jeff, good morning.

Speaker 9 (32:09):
It's always a pleasure to talk to you guys, to
make my day start off happy. So two things. One,
the restaurant that I missed the most would be Woolworths
count while your mother's shop.

Speaker 5 (32:23):
Oh, Jeff, how old are you?

Speaker 9 (32:25):
Fifty five?

Speaker 5 (32:26):
Yeah?

Speaker 9 (32:28):
I was. I was a sous chef at the largest
grossing ground round in all New England and Norwood.

Speaker 5 (32:34):
Wow.

Speaker 9 (32:35):
And we actually had these test kitchen in the basement.
They did a full kitchen downstairs. In the test test kitchen,
chef would come upstairs and go over items.

Speaker 21 (32:45):
Wow.

Speaker 9 (32:46):
And we'd hand pick different things at Mitch and Mix.
A match we used to have in Norwood. We used
to have on Saturday. There was a full costume clown
that would give out balloons on Saturdays. You guys are
remember the black and white Mickey Mouse did show on
the screen.

Speaker 5 (33:03):
Oh I remember that. Wow.

Speaker 9 (33:05):
And then you would you would have either popcorn up
peanuts that would be all over the floor. Yeah. And
you could go out with a family of four for
like twenty twenty five bucks.

Speaker 5 (33:15):
Yeah. It was crazy, believe it or not.

Speaker 9 (33:18):
We we sent out a We had a questionnaire. When
you sit down, you fill it out. One of the
biggest complaints we got was the menu was too big.
We had three hundred and seventy five items the menu.

Speaker 3 (33:29):
Yeah, that always fascinates me at a restaurant that has
such a.

Speaker 1 (33:32):
Large, can you yeah, cheesecake?

Speaker 5 (33:34):
Fact, same thing, a cheesecake.

Speaker 9 (33:35):
Yeah, all right, it was like twenty five dish chicken dishes, like,
I mean, how many? How many can you get? So
that was one of my tasks. Is the test kitchen
told me to go through it and started getting rid
of items I didn't didn't really gel Well, Jeff, the
good news.

Speaker 3 (33:51):
The good news is they might be hiring right now.

Speaker 5 (33:53):
So yeah, I even always go back. So what are
you doing now, Jeff?

Speaker 1 (33:57):
Yeah?

Speaker 9 (33:57):
Right, I actually managed property and I'm actually designing my
own restaurant. Will probably take another two years to get
the funding. It's going to be over a million, so,
but it'll take a while.

Speaker 3 (34:08):
Well, keep in touch with us. We'll give you a
shout out when you open the door.

Speaker 5 (34:10):
Yeah, maybe Dining Playbook will come to a feature on it.

Speaker 3 (34:13):
I guarantee that, Jeff. How's that we'll bring the Dining
Playbook cameras?

Speaker 8 (34:17):
In, don't say that because in two years, Jeff reaches out.

Speaker 6 (34:20):
Hey, I never said that. Can you isolate this right now?
Justin why would I promise that?

Speaker 5 (34:26):
I am saving it? Jeff? Just for you, buddy, for
the great call you just get. Let's go to Roberto
from Fitchburg. Good morning, Roberto, what have you got?

Speaker 12 (34:34):
Good morning? Enjoy the show. I missed a place that
my family has dubbed the chicken graveguard. I talked about
it two to three times at least a year.

Speaker 5 (34:44):
Yes, Lisa had that a couple of minutes ago.

Speaker 1 (34:47):
Same thing. I have such like fond memories and when
I was a little girl growing through the cafeteria style
line and get it, ponder Rosa. Yeah, you took a
tray and you walked through the line and you told
them what you want.

Speaker 5 (34:59):
Like a school cafeteria. Yeah, wow, you go.

Speaker 12 (35:06):
And you chewed the pizza meat if they want. If
you wanted a steak or something, they'd bring it to
your table. But I just was there for the chicken
wings and mash potatoes, gravy, and of course stop serve
ice cream limited in heaven all the time.

Speaker 3 (35:19):
Well, maybe the ponderosa will come back to thank you good.

Speaker 5 (35:22):
Thanks for the call, Roberto.

Speaker 1 (35:23):
What do you call a Mexican with a Rubberto?

Speaker 7 (35:26):
What?

Speaker 6 (35:27):
Roberto?

Speaker 5 (35:30):
We don't get many Robertos, No, I don't know.

Speaker 7 (35:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (35:33):
Yeah, let's go to Janet's calling in for Merrimac. Good morning, Janet,
what have you got to add hi.

Speaker 17 (35:42):
I would really love to see Sanchoro Sabilla come back
from rou One. I absolutely loved it. Best Italian subs ever.
And they used to use the pigan to do sy thread.
It was awesome and I've never found another one to
I would always come back.

Speaker 5 (36:00):
It was sub Villa, it was santaurro'sh across from Burger King. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
I remember it.

Speaker 7 (36:07):
Well.

Speaker 5 (36:09):
Bread, yeah, that's still it. Pant I see Pantidos's bread everywhere.
Oh yeah, sale all over the country. Yeah. I told,
I told Joe Pantados. I met him one, you know,
I met him through you. Yeah, and I told him
every Sunday morning, my grandmother would give me a five
dollar bill and I'd have to go down to the
bakery right down the street, Commercial Street and get fresh

(36:30):
bread every Sunday. Oh yeah, shout at them.

Speaker 20 (36:33):
I would love it if they brought friendlies back.

Speaker 14 (36:35):
There's nothing like a good old friendliest.

Speaker 5 (36:38):
So there are a couple of friendlies around.

Speaker 1 (36:41):
Yeah, they're not a lot.

Speaker 5 (36:42):
A lot have clothes. I worked there for thirteen years.

Speaker 6 (36:48):
Weymouth, nor would Taunton Peabody. I mean there's like this
plenty less.

Speaker 5 (36:53):
Yeah, I don't know how many there is. They definitely
shut down a lot, but they shut down the one
that I worked at for a lot of years. But
they still like, Yeah, yeah, they're still around. But they
used to be everywhere everywhere.

Speaker 6 (37:04):
But if she's really craven, isn't enough of them?

Speaker 5 (37:06):
Okay, let's not shut the collar down with Hey, does
anybody remember the pewter pot? What the pewter pot?

Speaker 1 (37:13):
How about the magic pan? It was a crape place,
did you guys?

Speaker 3 (37:18):
That was like a silly Yeah, they had a magic
pan on Newberry Street, right, yeah, crapes.

Speaker 5 (37:24):
C you don't like crapes.

Speaker 7 (37:26):
I would do anything for the Hilltop to come back.

Speaker 23 (37:34):
I used to go there every single Friday, religiously with
my grandparents.

Speaker 7 (37:38):
We'd start up in the lounge, go down to our table.
In only Sioux City. I would always get the prime rib,
even as a little kid.

Speaker 23 (37:46):
If my sister was too old to order from the
kids menu, but she always wanted the chicken fingers, so
I would order the chicken fingers for her. She'd order
my prime rib and we would switch the best memories
of my childhood there.

Speaker 5 (37:58):
Yeah, we used to go to the Hilltop all the time.
Remember when the Cole's heads got chopped off in the front.
Someone stole the heads of the cows on the front
of the everyone.

Speaker 3 (38:06):
And the Hilltop was one of those places that served
the generations. Yeah, like she was just saying, Anthony's Pier
four was another one that people for generations would go to.

Speaker 7 (38:15):
It.

Speaker 8 (38:16):
That was like my first real fancy place with Anthony's
Pier four.

Speaker 1 (38:19):
Yeah right, that was the destination.

Speaker 5 (38:20):
Yeah, and now look at it. Seaports is so different.
It took over like.

Speaker 6 (38:25):
Yeah, before that, it was just anti K four and
like a parking lot.

Speaker 5 (38:28):
That's it.

Speaker 3 (38:29):
Well, it's a great restaurant right on that property now
it's called Woods Hill Pier four.

Speaker 5 (38:34):
It's got great outdoor dining right on the beautiful restaurant.

Speaker 1 (38:37):
There used to be a place in Dary, New Hampshire
called Power Walk.

Speaker 7 (38:40):
It was a huge.

Speaker 24 (38:41):
Chinese buffet and that place clapped so hard as a kid.
But I also feel like COVID did a number on
Chinese buffets and those are just my favorite places. So
can we start bringing some of those places back because
there are like none out anymore.

Speaker 1 (39:01):
That's so true. And like the giant salad bars.

Speaker 3 (39:04):
Oh god, Yeah, yeah, and don't forget. Within a few
months we'll lose the kowloon. We'll be calling in about
the kloon.

Speaker 6 (39:10):
We're never gonna lose the colloon. Don't keep saying that.

Speaker 5 (39:13):
I don't know if that's gonna happen or not. But
you'll always go to Lynn, right.

Speaker 11 (39:16):
Bill, And there's nothing like good Chinese food and green tea.
Right on the lind Way is the place in land.
Make sure to check out their Asian lobster specialty. Oh my,
let's go to Stephen and Saga.

Speaker 3 (39:32):
Steven, what do you want to give us?

Speaker 5 (39:36):
York Steakhouse and Danvers. Yes, yes, that was a good one.

Speaker 25 (39:41):
We used We used to get steak and they come
around and say, is your steak tender enough? And we'd say,
I don't know. We can't cut through the bravy.

Speaker 5 (39:54):
But that's hilarious. Come through the grave, stupid. Let's go
to Gale and Norwood. Gale, Good morning, what have you
got for us?

Speaker 9 (40:09):
Good morning, Billy? You might remember this.

Speaker 23 (40:11):
It's the Colorado Public Library and Brookline Village.

Speaker 5 (40:16):
No, I don't. What does everybody say, Billy? You'll know
this one closed fifty years ago. Well, you have the
most experience out of all of us. Dah, I'm seasons ago. Yeah,
all right, Colorado Public Library. Okay, all right, there's a
good one.

Speaker 3 (40:36):
Now. Christina is calling from Topsfield. Okay, Christina, what have
you got.

Speaker 17 (40:41):
Hi?

Speaker 21 (40:41):
Guys?

Speaker 26 (40:42):
How are you? I remember Pewter Pot. It was in Reviere.
We would I would go with my mom when I
was little, and we would go to Bradley's Whinnie. I
loved Bradley Oh my Christmas shopping and Bradley's back.

Speaker 17 (40:58):
In the day.

Speaker 5 (40:59):
Yeah, And we.

Speaker 26 (41:01):
Would go to Pewter Pot and I would get hot
cocoa in the thick mugs.

Speaker 17 (41:05):
Oh my god.

Speaker 5 (41:07):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (41:07):
I think the Pewter Pot and Revere by the Rotary
was the first one, and then they opened them all
over New England. Of the Pewter pots, they were famous
for their muffins. Oh oh yeah, I.

Speaker 26 (41:17):
