Hi, everyone, I'm Lisa Donovan and.

Speaker 5 (00:22):
Justin you want to say hello to everybody this morning?

Speaker 6 (00:24):
Thank you? Bill?

Speaker 4 (00:25):
Okay, And there's producer Riley through the glass and off
to my right in her new Celtics hoodie.

Speaker 5 (00:32):
Is the Celtics mush morning.

Speaker 2 (00:35):
When you go to any more games, I think she's
bad luck.

Speaker 5 (00:38):
This is Mike from New Hampshire. Justin.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
You should have gone to the game tonight.

Speaker 5 (00:41):
Whinny your bad luck, that's all.

Speaker 2 (00:43):
And I set a record for us, Oh not the.

Speaker 5 (00:46):
Kind of record.

Speaker 4 (00:48):
The number of threes attempted and the number of threes missed.

Speaker 3 (00:52):
Sixty threes attempted was crazy crazy, and then to miss
forty five.

Speaker 4 (00:58):
Drive the ball once in a while, you know what,
Take it through the lane?

Speaker 5 (01:01):
Is that what they call it? Justin? Yeah? Drive to
the hoop, yeah yeah.

Speaker 7 (01:05):
If something's not working, you got to you gotta change
it up, switch it up.

Speaker 4 (01:08):
Yeah, you know the basic to basketball. Put the ball
in the hole.

Speaker 5 (01:12):
That's it. The ball in the hole. Yeah, nothing easier
than that.

Speaker 4 (01:17):
Get the ball and put it in the hole. And
if that requires you driving to the hole, drive to
the hole. Okay, you've just gotten a lesson on basketball.

Speaker 7 (01:26):
Well, they can just have to they have to play
more like a championship team. You know, they are a
championship team. Yeah, and they're the champs NBA champions.

Speaker 5 (01:34):
The balls.

Speaker 4 (01:39):
Mysteries, come on, that's hilarious. So yeah, they're down one zip.
You know what, no big deal. It's the playoffs. Okay,
it's the best of seven. We get a game to
right here in Boston Wednesday night. I think it's another
seven o'clock tip off. Yeah, and then Sat to day

(02:00):
three thirty.

Speaker 5 (02:01):
Love that yeah back in New York.

Speaker 4 (02:03):
But yeah, three thirty tip off Saturday.

Speaker 5 (02:05):
So that's good. Uh, rain again today?

Speaker 2 (02:08):
Lease, yeah, the whole week looks awful.

Speaker 8 (02:10):
But yeah, it's it's really really rainy and murky today
that day.

Speaker 4 (02:15):
Yeah, and I guess you have to look out for
the drainage is the big issue this morning. Puddling, ponding,
A lot of ponding.

Speaker 5 (02:23):
Yeah, some pumps. Yeah, you gotta have your something.

Speaker 2 (02:27):
You get a wet basement, Yeah, I had one before.

Speaker 5 (02:29):
It was not fun.

Speaker 7 (02:31):
Oh, in a French drain that was drilled out around
the you know, suore around the basements.

Speaker 5 (02:37):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (02:37):
Otherwise it's just going to be pumping and pumping and
nothing's happening. It's just building in the basement. So anyway,
beware the rain this week. I think we may get
some sun on Thursday. Okay, all right, we need to
check in with Max Donnava because none of the other
people makes any sense.

Speaker 2 (02:54):
Well, Max Donovan was at the Celtics game last night too.

Speaker 5 (02:57):
Oh that's right.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
Yeah, he's sleeping in this morning.

Speaker 4 (03:02):
I'm sure he is. Well, it's a big date night
last night for Max.

Speaker 2 (03:05):
Don Evant going on there.

Speaker 5 (03:07):
Yeah, big date night Max. I'm really growing up. Yeah, yeah, yes,
And I'm thinking how old is Max?

Speaker 4 (03:14):
Now?

Speaker 2 (03:14):
He's going to be eighteen on May twenty.

Speaker 4 (03:16):
First, exactly, about to be eighteen years old. You want
to have a date with somebody with season tickets. I'm
just saying, you know what I mean, that's how you
want to roll.

Speaker 7 (03:26):
It's not about who you are, it's about who you
know you want to start early with that. Yeah, you know, yeah,
like I tell everyone I know, Bill, yep, you know.

Speaker 4 (03:37):
Yeah. So are the seats actually on the floor.

Speaker 8 (03:43):
No, I don't believe so, but I know that they're
good seats.

Speaker 5 (03:46):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (03:47):
And by the way, we do want to shout out
our friends at the TV Garden because they were kind
enough to invite us. They were to the game last
night as well as the game Wednesday night. But we
get a lot going on this week. I talked to
Trisha at the Garden yesterday. She's very nice.

Speaker 3 (04:01):
She's awesome, Thank you so much. I got scraps, thank you, Bill.

Speaker 8 (04:05):
But it's yeah, but hopefully we can go yeah, she said,
you know, the next series would love to have you guys.

Speaker 4 (04:12):
Now, Winnie, if I recall last time we were invited
and lista, you'll remember this. We were invited to a
Celtics game. Didn't you steal something from the suite the Celtics? Sweet,
you remember justin the cookie jar?

Speaker 5 (04:25):
Yes?

Speaker 7 (04:25):
Oh, took the TD guard and cookie jaw from the suite. Yeah,
they you have cookie jars for each suite.

Speaker 2 (04:33):
Was it a Mason jar?

Speaker 1 (04:35):
No, it was a beautiful glass. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (04:38):
And then she sold it on Instagram for twenty bucks.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
Seriously, you sold a glass.

Speaker 1 (04:44):
You don't need to add that part. And it was
months later.

Speaker 5 (04:48):
I can't believe I forgot.

Speaker 4 (04:49):
That was one of my favorite stories of all time
that I understand something. She was there because of the invite. Well,
we were the executive offices the TD Guard. Yes, we
love you think the sweets bring food right, it's all catered.
And she stole the cookie jar from the people that
gave her free seats.

Speaker 2 (05:10):
It was a gift.

Speaker 5 (05:10):
Yeah, she didn't steal it, not like everybody gets a gift.

Speaker 7 (05:13):
Well no, she said. I was right there. They were
cleaning up, and when he said, hey, what do you
do with the cookie job and they said, well, if
you want it, you can take it, and so she
took it and then she sold it for twenty bucks.

Speaker 4 (05:26):
That's the part that's fascinating.

Speaker 5 (05:28):
Money bags.

Speaker 4 (05:29):
Yeah, okay, you are on a big time morning radio
show and you felt the need to take a cookie
jar that you stole from the TV garden and sell
it on social.

Speaker 1 (05:42):
I don't have Billy cost the money.

Speaker 5 (05:43):
Wow, Yeah, there's that's like.

Speaker 4 (05:48):
But in some weird way, it's admirable because I brought
it home that okay, I'm looking at Andre three thousand
at the medcal have a piano.

Speaker 5 (06:04):
Yeah, what are we doing?

Speaker 9 (06:06):
Yeah, from the Planet Fitness Kiss Rue Away Studios, but
we're back with the Villy and Lisa in the morning.

Speaker 4 (06:14):
Kiss guys, Welcome back and a happy Tuesday, rainy day today.
Celtics lost Game one last night. There will be Game
two in Boston Wednesday night. Justin you have talkbacks in there.

Speaker 7 (06:25):
Very busy on the talkbacks today. Shout out to the
talkback mafia. We'll do our best to get to all
your talkbacks. You can check in right now on the
iHeartRadio app. It's free to down load. Just look off
for that little microphone button that you press and check in.

Speaker 10 (06:38):
Hey guys, good morning. It's Jack from Hingham.

Speaker 3 (06:40):
My nanny overslept today apparently, so now I'm heading into
Boston on two wheels, trying to get to work on time.

Speaker 11 (06:46):
Not exactly the way I want to start my Tuesday, but.

Speaker 10 (06:49):
It's only up from here.

Speaker 11 (06:49):
I hope you guys have a great day.

Speaker 5 (06:50):
Oh man, Jack, Jack's gonna hit the road.

Speaker 3 (06:57):
Jacky Okay, Jack from Hanging with the Nanny.

Speaker 1 (07:00):
So sad for you, and.

Speaker 7 (07:04):
I love how he's on the road leaving talkbacks. Be
careful right white out there, ye hold it over a
lot of ponding, Yeah, be careful.

Speaker 9 (07:13):
Now the entertainment updates with the Billy hopsat Okay.

Speaker 4 (07:18):
Celtics had lost Game one to the Knicks in overtime
last night. They blew a twenty point lead in the
third period. They tried sixty three pointers. They missed forty
seven of those. Jason Tatum on all the failed three.

Speaker 12 (07:31):
There's a lot of shots that we, you know, we
want certain guys taking, and you know, felt like we
got some good looks. Obviously in the high sight. You know,
if we could go back, we probably would dropped the
ball a little bit more because we missed a lot
of shots tonight.

Speaker 5 (07:45):
Jaylen Brown on the Game one law.

Speaker 13 (07:46):
They definitely had momentum in the second half. They had
some tough plays, hit some tough shots, and you know,
being Breston, you know, in combination, made some tough, tough shots.

Speaker 6 (07:56):
Down the stretch.

Speaker 13 (07:57):
We just gotta we gotta look at it and be
better and get ready for Game two.

Speaker 4 (08:02):
Yeah, you never want to hear this on your home court.

Speaker 7 (08:07):
What I really don't want They were chanting that on
the way out.

Speaker 1 (08:13):
No, can I tell you.

Speaker 3 (08:14):
It was the first time being in the garden where
I've heard like very loud shares for the other team. Yeah,
I was like, oh, and then I looked down and
I saw all these like Nick.

Speaker 2 (08:22):
Because the top far obviously, Yeah, it's not too far.

Speaker 1 (08:24):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (08:25):
Well, Game two tomorrow night here in Boston. Game three,
by the way, is in New York. And that's a
Saturday afternoon game. That's going to be a three thirty
tip off on a Saturday. Let's go sell. You know,
it's just one.

Speaker 1 (08:38):
Game, I will say.

Speaker 3 (08:40):
I mean even they didn't play that well, they almost won,
like that's.

Speaker 5 (08:45):
That's okay, but almost one.

Speaker 3 (08:47):
But I'm saying like when they are better, like at
their best, they'll be fine. And Drew Holiday was playing
defense like a beast, like his energy was insane.

Speaker 4 (08:55):
All right, Well, they need to make a few adjustments
for Game two. That's all just announced yesterday. Julian Edelman
is going into the Patriots Hall of Fame. I don't
think there's any big surprise there. One of the best
players ever for the Patriots. And yeah, they met gala
last night. Rihanna used the gala last night to reveal
she is pregnant.

Speaker 14 (09:15):
Shockingly feeling okay and not too overwhelmed at the moment ended.
I mean, at first it was kind of like, oh,
and I'm tired, but then I'm excited.

Speaker 5 (09:25):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (09:26):
Last time she revealed the pregnancy, it was the Super
Bowl halftime show, right.

Speaker 8 (09:29):
Yp she uses major events unveil.

Speaker 5 (09:32):
You think she'll ever get back to music?

Speaker 2 (09:34):
Were just about that, it doesn't seem like she really
needs it.

Speaker 4 (09:37):
No, she's a billionaires yeah.

Speaker 2 (09:39):
Wow, She's exactly where she wants to be and she's
a mom. Yes.

Speaker 4 (09:43):
So what were the highlights in your isley?

Speaker 2 (09:45):
So the highlights were the people that weren't there.

Speaker 8 (09:47):
Actually, Taylor and Travis ended up not showing up, but
they were invited. J Lo didn't go, Blake Lively wasn't there, obviously,
Bill and Jordan didn't show up. But then other people
did show up, like Cynthia Arrivo, who will actually be
in town in Boston on Thursday with the Pops for
opening that Under the Pops, And we have Keith Lockhart
on the show later today. But like Hailey Bieber was

(10:08):
there without Justin. Justin was golfing, was.

Speaker 5 (10:11):
Ripping bombs yep.

Speaker 7 (10:13):
Oh, he was ripping ribbon bongs with his buddy's snowboarding
while golfing, doing something.

Speaker 5 (10:19):
I think he looks like he was in the mountains.

Speaker 4 (10:21):
I don't know, I don't know, you know what I
worry about Justin Bieber. But I also think that's not
his scene. I don't think he's ever been into that
kind of a scene. Like the Metcala last night.

Speaker 8 (10:33):
Yeah, sometimes, you know, couples, like celebrity couples do go
separately to the Metala. But like Lisa from Blackpink was there,
she looked amazing, Sabrina Carpenter, do Alipa Chapel Rone, Miley Cyrus,
they were all there.

Speaker 4 (10:46):
No Bieber, Patrick Swarzenegger was there with Amy lou Wood,
both of them from the White Load.

Speaker 5 (10:51):
I heard Amy was coming and I immediately texted her
and I said, can we please go together? I'm so nervous,
and she.

Speaker 2 (10:57):
Was like, I was gonna text you the same thing.

Speaker 5 (10:59):
I was like, perfect. So I went and we met up.
I went to our hotel and we showed up together.
And it's great. It takes the nerves out of it
that you have like a real friend to come with.

Speaker 2 (11:07):
He was carrying a clutch purse.

Speaker 4 (11:09):
Oh the Panera thing his hit now, Oh that's the yeah.

Speaker 8 (11:13):
No, he was carrying a purse and he was it
was such a bizarre outfit.

Speaker 5 (11:17):
Oh, I didn't see it.

Speaker 1 (11:19):
I saw Walter Goggins. I didn't like his outfit at all.

Speaker 2 (11:21):
Oh, it was really weird.

Speaker 1 (11:23):
That was weird.

Speaker 8 (11:23):
Yeah, from an outfit standpoint, I have to say I
was a little underwhelmed.

Speaker 2 (11:28):
It looked like they were all going to a funeral.

Speaker 5 (11:29):
Yeah.

Speaker 9 (11:30):
I live to watch this Metcala every year, and.

Speaker 5 (11:34):
It just wasn't the same.

Speaker 1 (11:38):
I don't know.

Speaker 9 (11:38):
And there weren't like a lot of couples, and I
don't know.

Speaker 5 (11:44):
It was my least favorite over the last few years.

Speaker 1 (11:49):
Anyway, have a good day.

Speaker 4 (11:51):
Well, there was a couple there, Nick Jonas and Brianca
Chopra had a parents in night hours.

Speaker 1 (11:55):
This is our you know, our big night out as
mom and dad.

Speaker 5 (11:57):
So we're excited to kind of, you know, jump back
into where our story began. It's different, for sure.

Speaker 4 (12:04):
Our daughter was around to say, wile we were getting ready,
and you know we're gonna be checking in throughout the night.

Speaker 5 (12:08):
We're just we're having fun.

Speaker 4 (12:10):
I got to give a shout out to Andre three
thousand a piano on his.

Speaker 8 (12:13):
Back that really captured that was Yeah, that was the
event of the night. And then he dropped like a
piano album. Oh no way really yeah.

Speaker 2 (12:22):
Wow new project seven piano sketches.

Speaker 4 (12:25):
So Nick Jonas was there, And speaking of the Jonas Brothers,
the Today Show summer concert series announced yesterday. It actually
kicks off today with Kelly Clarkson. It's going to be
raining in New York, I think, and the Jonas Brothers
are in the summer lineup for the Today Show.

Speaker 1 (12:41):
And I guess I believe.

Speaker 5 (12:43):
Yeah, okay, what sound like you're asleep?

Speaker 1 (12:48):
Sorry, late night.

Speaker 4 (12:51):
So Keith Lockhart at LISTA just mentioned, is going to
be in the studio this morning, this Boston Pops. The
lineup that he's got for the spring and summer is amazing.
Cynthia Arrivo that Lisa just mentioned. Nas is going to
be with the Pops.

Speaker 7 (13:05):
Just this summer. He'll be at Tanglewood and I'm going
to that you are, of course, Nas is one of
the best rappers of all time.

Speaker 1 (13:15):
Your antigo anywhere.

Speaker 3 (13:17):
So I don't know, if you're on a Friday night,
you're gonna go two and a half hours away.

Speaker 5 (13:21):
Yes, sir, ma'am sorry, I would recommend.

Speaker 2 (13:24):
I would recommend staying overnight.

Speaker 5 (13:26):
Yeah, I think we're going to make a weekend trip
on it. H It's a bit of a.

Speaker 4 (13:29):
Haul, right, Yeah it is.

Speaker 2 (13:30):
I've done it. I did it.

Speaker 8 (13:32):
Actually I drove back and forth, but we had like
a car service.

Speaker 2 (13:35):
I mean this is years ago, like fifteen years ago.
That was only time I did it.

Speaker 7 (13:40):
Yeah, I've seen I've seen Nads several times. He's easily
the best rapper that I've ever seen live. So with
the Pops, it's going to be incredible.

Speaker 14 (13:47):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (13:47):
Yeah, it's definitely. I actually want to go to that too.

Speaker 7 (13:50):
It's in July, right, it's in July July nineteenth. We'll
talk to Keith at seventeen about it.

Speaker 4 (13:55):
So we mentioned late in the show yesterday Benson Boone
is launching a new tour. He's going to bring it
to the TV Garden September tewond and the tickets go
on sale this Friday morning. And Miley Cyrus debuted a
new song this week in New York called More to
Lose Sounds nice? Didn't you say recently she'll never tour again?

Speaker 1 (14:14):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (14:15):
Wow, because that was like a small private thing in
New York, and so she decided to debut the song,
which is very cool. The song, by the way, going
to be on her new album, which comes out to
May thirtieth. How about this one Jennifer Aniston lounging around
the house yesterday when a crazed guy drove his car
right through the front gates. Her private security held the

(14:37):
guy at gunpoint until police arrived, and they say the
guy was in his seventies.

Speaker 2 (14:42):
That's terrifying.

Speaker 4 (14:43):
Yeah, imagine she's just sitting in the backyard chilling and
he drives his car metal gates through the gates.

Speaker 1 (14:50):
But something makes me feel like he might.

Speaker 2 (14:52):
Have had like a heart attacker.

Speaker 1 (14:54):
Not done it on purpose.

Speaker 8 (14:55):
Right.

Speaker 3 (14:55):
I got the vibe that it was like an accidental thing,
and they were like, obviously took her car because it's
her house.

Speaker 1 (15:01):
But I don't think. I don't think it was anything militias.

Speaker 7 (15:04):
Hey, least do they Does she have twenty four hour
security there? When they say private security, I believe she
people there around the clock.

Speaker 4 (15:12):
Maybe, yes, I believe she does.

Speaker 5 (15:14):
I think I've heard of that before.

Speaker 4 (15:16):
I think a lot of those people do they have
to you know.

Speaker 5 (15:19):
Like a guard shacky cool to have a.

Speaker 2 (15:21):
Guard shock, it would be really cool.

Speaker 4 (15:23):
So I've been binge watching the latest season of You.

Speaker 13 (15:27):
Oh.

Speaker 2 (15:27):
I just finished it last night, the tenth and final season.

Speaker 5 (15:31):
A thumbs up, her thumbs down, Oh, total thumb true.

Speaker 2 (15:35):
You know they ask you at the end, did you
like this? I like, actually, press like.

Speaker 5 (15:40):
I do the same thing.

Speaker 2 (15:41):
I was like, oh my god, yeah it was I like,
I liked the ending. I know it's controversial, but I
liked it.

Speaker 4 (15:47):
I haven't gotten to the ending. I think I've got
two more episodes left, but.

Speaker 1 (15:51):
You're ahead of me almost. I have to get Oh.

Speaker 4 (15:53):
Every episode I end up shouting, oh my god. And
at the same time it's funny.

Speaker 2 (16:00):
Yeah, it's very well written.

Speaker 5 (16:01):
Oh my god.

Speaker 8 (16:02):
So you're going to be in Hartford tomorrow and Caroline Kapnis,
who actually created the U series. She is our author
guest at our sister station down in Connecticut, Courtney and
Kiss in the morning. We will be at Farmington Gardens
with Caroline from six to eight And it's thanks to
ninety plus sellers who's sponsoring the entire evening for Lisa's
book Club on the Road.

Speaker 4 (16:22):
Can you give Caroline a high five for me on
the writing of this season.

Speaker 5 (16:26):
It's just incredible.

Speaker 8 (16:27):
Yeah, she's and she has a lot of really great
projects in the works that she'll be discussing with us
tomorrow night.

Speaker 5 (16:35):
That's awesome. Are you still going down there with a
party van?

Speaker 14 (16:38):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (16:39):
Well no, they're all driving themselves.

Speaker 8 (16:40):
We kind of worked that out, okay, Yeah, but we
have a lot of Lisa's book Club members from here
going down there.

Speaker 5 (16:46):
All right.

Speaker 4 (16:47):
Hey, our friends at Davio celebrating their fortieth anniversary tonight
at their seaport location. All of the proceeds going to
the Ron Burton Training Village in Wick. Grousbeck's band French
Lick is going to be playing at the event tonight
and I'll be there. I got to drop by celebrate
the fortieth for Davios.

Speaker 5 (17:05):
And we're brought to you by Dover Rug.

Speaker 4 (17:08):
Let them come to your house with all the rugs
you like and lay them right on the floor right
in front of you. This way you can see them
in place at your home before you decide. Dover Rug
is in Natick, Boston, Burlington, or just go to doverrug
dot com and there you go.

Speaker 5 (17:25):
What up is Dalen Brown from the Boston Celtics.

Speaker 13 (17:27):
You're listening to Billy and Lisa in the morning on
Kiss one Away your Billy and Lisa when we bawl.

Speaker 4 (17:32):
Them right after you win the championship.

Speaker 8 (17:36):
From the Planet's Fitness Kiss one Oway Studios.

Speaker 9 (17:39):
We're back with a Villy and Lisa in the morning
on Kiss.

Speaker 4 (17:43):
Hey guys to welcome back and happy Tuesday. And I've
got a pair of tickets, or we have a pair
of tickets right now for John Mulaney who's coming to town.
He's done Comics, come home a couple of times.

Speaker 2 (17:54):
We saw him there.

Speaker 4 (17:55):
Yeah, yeah, funny, funny guy. We've got a pair of
tickets right now for College twenty five at six months
nine to three, one one one eight. Typically we would
give you a key word. In this case, I think
I'll give you a key phrase if you're just waking up.
The Celtics lost Game one in overtime, and part of
the reason is they took too many threes, way too

(18:16):
many threes. They set a new record for sixty three
attempts uh and forty seven misses. Okay, so the phrase
this morning, listen carefully is drive the ball. Drive the
ball is the key phrase.

Speaker 5 (18:33):
You got to get the ball in the hoop.

Speaker 2 (18:36):
It's really simple.

Speaker 5 (18:37):
That's the point of the game.

Speaker 6 (18:38):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (18:38):
You see there's the backboard and then there's a.

Speaker 5 (18:41):
Hoop, a hole.

Speaker 4 (18:43):
You put the ball in the hole. Whatever it takes,
you need to drive it, go through the through the lane,
go right through, drive the ball, put it in the hole.
So yeah, call it twenty five six, one, seven nine.

Speaker 5 (18:56):
Wait, you got some talkbacks just.

Speaker 7 (18:57):
Oh yeah, so many people checking in. Shout out to
all you guys. We appreciate you. You know, we give you
the gift of friendship. Right, that's what this show is
all about. So if you listen to the show you
want to chime in, you can always about things that
we talk about, or even things going on in your life.

Speaker 11 (19:11):
Billy, I got my car washed on Saturday because of
all the fallen right before it rained, of course, and
they were trying to sell me more car washes for
the month and five dollars off here, and I thought
of you, and I turned to my son and I said,
I am leaving a talkback on Monday for Billy. They
were trying to sell me more car washes. I didn't

(19:33):
give in.

Speaker 4 (19:34):
Yeah, yeah, good for her. It's the most annoying thing
in the world. There's nothing simpler than a car wash.
You pull in, you pay, you go through the car wash,
you come out, and you drive away. They have complicated it.
So if you saw the car wash up on Middlesex here,
I think it's technically in Medford, you won't believe they've
reconfigured the entire car wash to support the campaign of shores.

Speaker 2 (20:00):
Like their different lanes.

Speaker 5 (20:02):
Yeah, they want you.

Speaker 4 (20:03):
To buy five years of car Washers in advance.

Speaker 5 (20:06):
Well, they shame you. If you don't have the subscription.

Speaker 7 (20:09):
You get it, you get the special line that you
know every five If you have it, you q go
right in.

Speaker 4 (20:14):
Yeah, but you have to wait if you don't. There's
the VIP line now, right. So now they have a
guy that stands in front of the other line, the
losers like me who don't want to join the lifetime
membership of car Washers. Right, So he stands there and
purposely lets thirty cars go before you. You were there
like twenty minutes before the cars going in front of you.

Speaker 6 (20:35):
Yep.

Speaker 4 (20:36):
But that's their way of pressuring you into buying the membership.

Speaker 7 (20:40):
Let it go, and then they look at you while
you're in the shame line. I've been in the shame line.
I know what you're talking.

Speaker 5 (20:45):
Oh yeah, they give you this look like, you know, hello. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (20:49):
And then the other people that did buy the stupid
membership give you the look as they drive by you
waving yes, I'm a VIP.

Speaker 5 (20:57):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (20:57):
And now the guys with the brochures actually come out
to the vacuums. You know, God, they have the free vacuums.
So now they circle around your car while you're trying
to vacuum the car, pushing the brochure.

Speaker 7 (21:08):
In your face, and Billy makes up lies as to
why he can't buy the subscription in advance.

Speaker 5 (21:14):
I have to have a story. Yeah, it's not my car.

Speaker 4 (21:16):
Yeah, it's my brother's car. I just barred it. I
just want to return it clean, leave me alone.

Speaker 2 (21:21):
It's so stressful.

Speaker 4 (21:22):
Yeah, it's unbelievable to me that it's still going on.

Speaker 2 (21:25):
Well, shout out to the one in Naponsit Circle. That's
when I go to. There are no lines. It is
old school. You get in, you get out. I love them.

Speaker 4 (21:32):
No pressure, no human pressure. I'm going to start driving
to Naponsea.

Speaker 2 (21:36):
You need to.

Speaker 4 (21:37):
I would wait in ninety minutes of expressway traffic to
not have to meet the brochure guy again.

Speaker 5 (21:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (21:43):
My wife got me three months of car washes, you know,
for I think it was for Christmas. Yeah, and I
used it for you know, I think a month and
then they it expired. Yeah, it was a whole contract.
Now every time I go back, they're all over me.
You know, you were a member and now you're not
a VIP. You want to be a VIP. Yeah, So
now I go to.

Speaker 4 (22:01):
A different car You got me a gift card, yeah,
the holidays for the car wash. Yeah, but I went
to a different car washing, this one up here. I'm
telling you it's it's busy.

Speaker 7 (22:11):
It's a great car wash. But the shaming I just
don't get. Yeah, let's go to Julie online one. I
believe she's called twenty five.

Speaker 5 (22:19):
Oh why is it Julie?

Speaker 9 (22:23):
Yeah Julie.

Speaker 5 (22:24):
Well, Julie, you're called twenty five. But you need to
know the key phrase, drive the ball. Are you listening, Jayleen?
Drive the ball? Julie. That's correct, So hold on.

Speaker 4 (22:39):
You definitely have a pair of tickets to John mulaney
and producer Riley's going to take care of that for
you there.

Speaker 5 (22:44):
You go, Wow, Okay, drive the ball. That's a good one.
Lisa kiss one O eight. Well, this is so cool.

Speaker 4 (22:52):
Keith Archardt is a regular on our show. He's a
good friend of ours and good to see you back
in studio.

Speaker 6 (22:56):
Keys to have friends.

Speaker 5 (22:57):
Yes, ah, the Maestro.

Speaker 4 (23:00):
Congratulations thirty years at your anniversary.

Speaker 6 (23:03):
Miikes, man, I mean that's a long time.

Speaker 5 (23:06):
Yeah, you know.

Speaker 4 (23:07):
Lisa and I go on Channel four Grow Up every morning,
and this morning on WBZTV we were talking about you
and the anniversary and the fact that you're coming in
and Paula Ebans over at Channel four I said, boy,
I still look at him as the new kid in town.

Speaker 6 (23:24):
Well it's I don't quite feel like the new kid
in town anymore. But I suppose that's a good thing.

Speaker 4 (23:29):
Do you remember the first night you picked up the
baton so to speak for the pop.

Speaker 6 (23:33):
I remember that it happened. Yes. I think that most
of the things that happened in my first couple of
seasons are pretty much a blur at this point, because
you know, so much changed so quickly for me, and
I was I was a kid, and I knew I
was stepping into a long term position. Because this isn't
the kind of thing you do for a couple of
months and then see what's next. But I don't think
when you're thirty five you have any idea what thirty

(23:56):
years after that looks like. And how much of the
center of my life that this you know, this job
in this community has become, my family lives here, all
those things have changed. I came to Boston nineteen ninety
five without a cell phone and without an email address. Wow,
it wasn't weird. Isn't A lot of the world continues

(24:19):
to change, but it's it's been a great run. And
I'm still excited to get up and go to work
in the morning. And so that's, I guess, a good sign.

Speaker 4 (24:28):
Now I'm holding something I didn't know still existed, an
actual CDD with you on the picture in a tuxedo
with shorts and high cut sneakers running wild.

Speaker 6 (24:40):
That that album sold a lot of copies back in
the CD era.

Speaker 2 (24:44):
Well it's a fun picture.

Speaker 6 (24:45):
There's a fun picture. Yeah, you know how they got that.
I jumped on one of those exercise trampolines for like
an hour and a half sign so they could get
me spaced off of this before CGI too, you.

Speaker 5 (24:56):
Know, Oh yeah, just love it. He's wearing Chucks.

Speaker 6 (24:59):
So in the picture I couldn't actually make that album
cover anymore.

Speaker 5 (25:02):
But it's why because of the trampoline.

Speaker 6 (25:07):
The trampoline or something like a last long And if
you really want to date this, you should know that
that album was released simultaneously on CD and cassette.

Speaker 4 (25:15):
Oh my, it exists on cassette.

Speaker 5 (25:18):
Wow.

Speaker 4 (25:19):
So Cynthia Arrivo is one of the biggest stars in
the world right now, and she kicks off your season
this coming Thursday night.

Speaker 6 (25:28):
We are very fortunate. We have been looking to have
Cynthia big. She's fantastic for a long time and it
just so happens that we agreed to this just at
the point that everybody in the world now knew who
she was. And we're very, very excited about that. She
kicks the season off on the eighth, and that goes
that we go on until Gospel Night, our annual tradition,

(25:51):
closes the season on June seventh, and a lot of
great stuff in between.

Speaker 5 (25:56):
Wow.

Speaker 4 (25:56):
So how do you prepare for all of the different
people that come in and join you for the pops
like I Cynthia Arrivo Oh my god, what a voice
on her right?

Speaker 2 (26:06):
Like, how many rehearsals do you have with her before?

Speaker 6 (26:09):
We'll see her on Thursday morning and we'll perform with
there on Thursday night.

Speaker 5 (26:12):
And that's what.

Speaker 6 (26:14):
We just have to know our stuff and she knows
her stuff, and it's my job to put all those
things together. But no pressure in it.

Speaker 4 (26:22):
So does she send you stuff in advance?

Speaker 6 (26:24):
Yes?

Speaker 5 (26:24):
Okay, yeah, so you.

Speaker 6 (26:26):
Have the music. We know the music and she knows
the music, and we get together and know the music together.

Speaker 4 (26:31):
Wow, just like that.

Speaker 6 (26:33):
It is not like your you know, your high school
band that rehearses.

Speaker 4 (26:36):
For three I got to tell you to be very
careful with her. She spent two full days on her
nails for the met gal last night. Don't let her
break a nail I have.

Speaker 6 (26:47):
I mean, she's obviously famous for fashion things like that,
and I'm not quite sure how to shake her hand,
but I'm.

Speaker 5 (26:55):
Sure she could cut you nails. Who's the hardest person.

Speaker 4 (27:03):
You've ever worked with?

Speaker 5 (27:04):
I can't tell you without but you know, I mean,
I don't mean as a difficult person.

Speaker 6 (27:09):
They're dead. I can't tell you that.

Speaker 5 (27:11):
I mean there, they're okay.

Speaker 4 (27:13):
I'll rephrase, what was your biggest challenge? That's pretty much
the same thing as I feel like I prosecuted.

Speaker 5 (27:21):
Now i'll rephrase the question.

Speaker 6 (27:22):
I can tell you a couple of people who are
not with us who were difficult to work with because
they were very demanding. That's not necessarily a bad thing,
melt or May. It was very difficult to work with.
And and you know he seems so, you know, kind
of gentle and friendly, but no, he was very intense.
And I did my commercial recording debut with mel so

(27:46):
I was a real kid at that point and was
this before Ken Boston and was scared it at the
entire time.

Speaker 4 (27:52):
Well, you know, Lisa has kind of a connection to
Cynthia a revol because your book club is featuring the
person who wrote Wicked.

Speaker 8 (27:59):
Yes, Gregory Maguire, and he just came out with Elfhi,
the prequel, So we are sort of loosely connected to Yeah.

Speaker 6 (28:08):
It's cool, and Cynthia is going to start in that.

Speaker 2 (28:10):
Too, yes she is.

Speaker 6 (28:11):
Oh, this is this is all very exciting. What a
great way to start the season. We got a lot
of great stuff in between. We are featuring George Tucky
from uh Star Trek's superstar who is totally I mean,
he's just great. I did a little zoom meeting with him. Well,
he's eighty seven and just his his speech, his manner

(28:33):
is just he's just he's still the same. George tak
Uh and our own local hero Sonny Williams now back
from space and from from Natick, mass You know, yes,
an elementary school named after her. You know you've made
it space. She was in space, all left exactly. Well,

(28:54):
the two of them are joining us for music and
the Cosmos. Wow, the middle of the season. Let me
see exactly when twenty four. We're so good at this
May twenty third and twenty fourth really excited. Sunny's a
big friend. She's a great fan of the Pops. We
actually talked to her from space on the fourth of Julyland.

Speaker 2 (29:12):
Wow, your thirtieth anniversary concert is June sixth. Will there
be any surprise guests?

Speaker 6 (29:17):
There will be surprise guests, but I'm not allowed to
know who they are, so you'll have to ask. The
weird thing we're getting off, I've got to still conduct this,
But somehow, somehow, it's going to be all magic friends
of mine whom I've worked with over the last thirty years.
But I think it's going to be an exciting lineup
from what I'm.

Speaker 4 (29:36):
Understanding now, the Pops you're going to be doing nas
at tangle Wood.

Speaker 5 (29:41):
That is true.

Speaker 6 (29:43):
Yes, I've heard a rumor to that effect as well.

Speaker 8 (29:45):
Well.

Speaker 4 (29:45):
That one kind of jumped right out at us, because
you know the Pops and you get some nas in
there justin.

Speaker 5 (29:52):
You'll imagine that.

Speaker 4 (30:00):
If I gave you thirty seconds, could you come up
with a rendition of that?

Speaker 6 (30:05):
You mean you want me to sing it back to
you that I could do the Pops. It's you know,
it's always exciting to have new challenges, and there is
a lot of a lot of hip hop is beginning
to infiltrate the symphonic Pops thing, and that's really exciting.
I'm afraid I'm going to miss that one, but it's
going to be an exciting one.

Speaker 4 (30:21):
What an amazing privilege it is to have the Pops.

Speaker 5 (30:24):
In our city.

Speaker 6 (30:25):
Hey, we're lucky to.

Speaker 4 (30:26):
And you are such a big part of it. I
got to ask you, because you mentioned a couple of
minutes ago fourth of July. Do you have any announcements
yet regarding fourth of July?

Speaker 5 (30:34):
I mean it's right around the very soon.

Speaker 6 (30:35):
You could have me back in a week and I
can tell you everything.

Speaker 5 (30:37):
We have you back anytime.

Speaker 6 (30:40):
I mean here to this. Yeah, it's really it's it's amazing.
The Pops is such a beloved institution here and this
town is so unique in that it embraces organizations like
the Boston Pops and organizations like well, the Red Sox,
the Patriots and the Celtics with equal fervor.

Speaker 5 (31:00):
Uh.

Speaker 6 (31:00):
You know, I was at the park on Sunday throughout
the first pitch and that's right, and Jason Bartek caught it,
and of course I was around for you know, the
two thousand and three disappointment in two thousand and four triumph,
and he came up and he said, Keith, it's great
to see you. He said, you know, you don't know this,
but we come to holiday Pops every year, and you know,

(31:21):
it's just the integration of this city and the different
worlds of it is really now.

Speaker 4 (31:25):
Yeah, when you threw the first pitch, you didn't bounce it.

Speaker 5 (31:28):
Okay, come to.

Speaker 6 (31:29):
The striking I've thrown that's probably my tenth.

Speaker 2 (31:33):
Really do you get nerves?

Speaker 5 (31:35):
Yes?

Speaker 6 (31:36):
This time only because my thirteen year old who was
actually on the Xaverian Junior high team. Wow, you know,
and they're they're yes, good programs in the farm program there.
But he's only in the seventh grade, but he's got
it his you know, site set on being on the
number one high school team in the state. So anyway,

(31:58):
so he was there. He warned me up and you know,
you don't want to fail in front of your kid.

Speaker 4 (32:03):
No, and it's true for him to be there too.

Speaker 6 (32:05):
Exactly better the strike it was over the plate. My
velocity was off, kind of a floater.

Speaker 4 (32:09):
And I'm sure your velocity will be on for your
anniversary show better at June sixth Keith. Always a pleasure
and again, congratulations on your thirtieth and everybody's looking forward
to this new series.

Speaker 6 (32:20):
Great to see you guys. Thanks, come see us right now.

Speaker 8 (32:23):
It's topic time with Billy and Lisa in the morning, So.

Speaker 4 (32:28):
Justin we've got a talkbacko who needs our help?

Speaker 7 (32:31):
Yeah, sometimes the topics comes from you guys, from our listeners.
You can always check in about anything, ask any questions
on the talkback feature that's on the free iHeartRadio app.
You just listened to kiss want to wait and tap
that red microphone.

Speaker 11 (32:43):
Time Morning crew.

Speaker 15 (32:45):
My fiance and I are getting married this October and
working on our registry now and wanted to know if
you guys had any recommendations. Things you would recommend putting
on the registry. Things we should absolutely not on the registry.

Speaker 11 (33:02):
Have a good day hm.

Speaker 5 (33:05):
Ideas.

Speaker 8 (33:06):
Yeah, so it depends on if they already lived together.
So things like a honeymoon fund, I know, is always
a big thing. I've always contributed to that with weddings.
I think shared experiences, travel related items, home tech like
smart thermostats are always really good gifts because they can

(33:26):
kind of be expensive.

Speaker 2 (33:29):
Yeah, I would start there.

Speaker 4 (33:30):
Yeah, it seems like more and more people are getting
away from the pots and pans.

Speaker 5 (33:34):
Right because dish sets.

Speaker 2 (33:35):
A lot of people already have them.

Speaker 8 (33:37):
Yeah, so I think these types of things are really
cool to put on your registry. Experiences, shared experiences you
can do with like your your significant other or cash.

Speaker 2 (33:47):
Yeah, cash is always good.

Speaker 7 (33:48):
Cash is always king. That's all we wanted, never changed. Yeah,
we didn't want salt salt and pepper shakers.

Speaker 8 (33:54):
So can you just do cash like on one of
these registries or do you bring the the cash or
the check to the actual ceremony.

Speaker 4 (34:03):
I think you can set up a fund, right, well, you.

Speaker 8 (34:06):
Can set up a honeymoon fund like we did for
your son Alex. Like I donated to a boat trip
and Positano.

Speaker 5 (34:13):
For them, Leave it to Alex. I'm sorry.

Speaker 4 (34:18):
On his registry he wanted you to buy him a
boat trip in Poisonano.

Speaker 2 (34:22):
Yeah, so I did. I don't know what's wrong with that?

Speaker 4 (34:26):
God, what the hell did I get him? I forget well, cash.

Speaker 5 (34:30):
Again, better than pots and pans.

Speaker 3 (34:32):
I believe you gift cards to give cards are good
Amazon or whatever.

Speaker 5 (34:36):
Yeah, that's like cash as well.

Speaker 4 (34:39):
Kiss all right, So we're helping out a talkbacker planning
a wedding wants to know what the best things or
worst things to put on your registry is?

Speaker 6 (34:47):
Right?

Speaker 9 (34:47):
Justin how about do not do a registry? Why do
people who are getting married think it is the guests
position to purchase things for you? Because you are getting
married and many times there are any up into four. Anyway,
let us be a guest, let us witness your nuptials,
let us probably give you money.

Speaker 4 (35:08):
I gotta tell you a part of me believes what
she's saying.

Speaker 7 (35:12):
I can see it. I can say it's kind of
old school, like Lisa said, with all the homewar and
stuff you don't even use.

Speaker 8 (35:19):
Yeah you don't, You're not gonna Yeah this I don't know,
Like how many people I have a Sterling silver like
flatwaar set.

Speaker 2 (35:26):
I think I use it like once a year.

Speaker 5 (35:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (35:28):
Well, I think the whole the whole thought process before
was that it's when people were starting out and they
lived together.

Speaker 1 (35:33):
Right now everyone lives together first, So that's what.

Speaker 8 (35:36):
I'm saying, Like these experiences and the honeymoon, like those
things make more sense now, or like smart home technology.

Speaker 4 (35:42):
Yeah, but to me, it's still a little weird to
ask for specific things. So if you're coming to my wedding,
you know what i'd like, Like in the instance of
my son, he wanted a boat trip in Poisono, Italy.

Speaker 5 (35:54):
Okay, that's your son.

Speaker 4 (35:57):
Yeah, I think it's it's weird.

Speaker 5 (36:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (36:00):
My favorite gift to give people, because it was my
favorite gift to get from people is Home Depot gift
cards because you always need stuff from home Depot even
if you.

Speaker 5 (36:12):
Live in a condo. That's true, so true, ruee.

Speaker 4 (36:15):
See, I'd like the gift card idea. That's good let's
go to Chris and Lincoln. Hey, Chris, you have ideas
for us?

Speaker 10 (36:22):
Yeah, So I think as you guys were talking about
like cash, which you know, as you said, Billy, cash
is king, I think kind of more specific to that,
where it's so expensive here to get a home, especially
if you're a first time home buyer, there are sites
now where you can kind of just like to start

(36:43):
a site that starts tracking, like you know, how much
you've saved for the home, and people can kind of,
you know, they don't have.

Speaker 16 (36:49):
To necessarily say how much they're they're giving it if
they want to have it anonymous. But I mean if
you're a first time home buyer anywhere around the Boston area,
I mean you got to put a couple hundred grand
down for property, especially where the town that we bought
a place in. So it's just, uh, yeah, i'd say

(37:11):
that's that's definitely something that you know we did and
it seemed to help us out.

Speaker 2 (37:16):
So what you're saying is cash is king.

Speaker 5 (37:17):
That's yeah. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (37:19):
But is he saying in return for the stuffed chicken
that I get at the wedding, I'm going to help
buy his home.

Speaker 2 (37:25):
No, he's just saying cash like it's for the dumb.

Speaker 3 (37:27):
But he did say house fun so maybe, yeah, you
can specify. I don't know anyone that has a couple
hundred thousand for their first time home buyer.

Speaker 5 (37:34):
Well he said it was a certain town.

Speaker 1 (37:36):
Yeah, he's in Lincoln.

Speaker 2 (37:37):
Differently, Lincoln is a.

Speaker 7 (37:38):
Price, to be honest with you, Yeah, cash is king Man.
No China, right, what I mean this.

Speaker 5 (37:43):
Is neck for Milton.

Speaker 4 (37:44):
One thing the callers should not register for is China.
My wife and I registered for it, got.

Speaker 3 (37:50):
It, and it's been sitting in a box for almost
twenty years.

Speaker 9 (37:54):
We just use every day where instead.

Speaker 2 (37:55):
Yeah, the worst gift to Yeah, it's just it doesn't
get used.

Speaker 5 (37:59):
Yeah.

Speaker 17 (38:00):
No, good morning guys, especially Billy. Listen, when it comes
to a wedding registry in twenty twenty five, there's only
two things you can do. It's cash all day long.
Nobody wants pots and pans, nobody wants a kitchen aid mixer,
and nobody wants the glass table with the weird thing
that's going to sit in the corner and collect dust.
The only other thing that's acceptable is Billy's Sexy Ass

(38:20):
