Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey guys, So welcome back. So here we go. Benson
Boone is in town. He's got a sold out show
in the TD Garden tonight, and what do you know,
we have last minute tickets for tonight's show. We need
caller twenty five, and call her twenty five. You will
need the keyword, and so will you, Producer Riley. And
the keyword is back to school.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
Back to school. Okay, hard hitting, that's what everybody's talking about.

Speaker 3 (00:28):
Yeah, yeah, all right, well six one, seven, nine three, one,
oh wait, good luck to call her twenty five that
headed to see Benson tonight.

Speaker 4 (00:35):
So excited to go to the Benson Boone concert on Tuesday.

Speaker 5 (00:39):
I'm bringing my daughters.

Speaker 4 (00:40):
I made lots of down payments on these tickets and
we are just so excited. But I do hope that
he does not do the Mama song because it is
wildly offensive. He calls his mom old like nine times,
and the whole middle of the song is how awesome
his dad is. There's not one thank you, not one
I love you, just that she's gonna die and I'm

(01:01):
guessing that she can't be more than fifty something.

Speaker 1 (01:05):
I thought it was a tribute to his mom.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
Yeah, it's kind of beautiful. I know what she's saying.

Speaker 3 (01:09):
Like he does say old a lot I can see.
And then there's in the middle of the song he says,
I've started to look like my father makes me cry
a little bit because he really should have made it big,
because damn, he's good at everything. Oh and everything I
am is because of you. I'm a man because of you.

Speaker 5 (01:24):
Well maybe it's like first parents. Yeah, like for both
of that, they both did.

Speaker 2 (01:29):
I don't.

Speaker 3 (01:29):
I mean, I think it was intentionally made as a
tribute to his mom, and I'm sure he'll do it tonight.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
Right.

Speaker 6 (01:35):
He kind of went off the rails a little.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
Bit, a little bit.

Speaker 1 (01:38):
Yeah, you know, I want to hear from mom.

Speaker 2 (01:40):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, Actually, now that I read the lyrics and.

Speaker 1 (01:44):
Yeah, yeah, all of a song, I'm on the side
of the talk back.

Speaker 7 (01:49):
What do you yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:50):
What he said? Yeah? Interesting, Okay, Well, there was a
bill signing this weekend.

Speaker 6 (01:55):
I guess, Hey, Billy, my name is Brittany.

Speaker 8 (01:57):
My kids and I listened to every morning all of
the guys. You just met my mom at the bath.
Name's Tina.

Speaker 1 (02:03):
They're on the Bob Bob Bob.

Speaker 8 (02:05):
And I think she's going to call in Tuesday morning,
and I want her to tell you the story of
how they named the boat the Bob Bob. Have a
great long weekend listening to you guys next week.

Speaker 6 (02:18):
Okay, you remember meeting her at the bath and hang them.

Speaker 1 (02:21):
I do remember when we came over to the table.
She was very nice, and she did mention her boat.

Speaker 2 (02:26):
So I'm sure. I said, you know what, why don't
you give us a call? Well, what's the same morning.
What's the story about Bob? What about Bob? What we
need to know? Bob Bob Bob?

Speaker 3 (02:35):
Okay, well, if you're listening, call us and tell us
this is you know, unfulfilling.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
Yeah, what about Bob?

Speaker 1 (02:42):
You don't remember, no, which I don't know the story
behind Bob Bob Bob. But I do remember a very
nice woman coming over because please she was telling the
story how her husband was saying, please, don't do that.

Speaker 2 (02:53):
He doesn't want you to go over and say hello. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:55):
Once Bill gets like one one and a half cosmos
in his memories, a little fog.

Speaker 1 (02:59):
No, I do remember meeting her, but yeah, I remember
her telling me she had a sailboat.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
You're going to hold that against them?

Speaker 5 (03:07):
I didn't believe the name thing, like, he's in no names.

Speaker 6 (03:10):
What what do you have against sailboats?

Speaker 2 (03:12):
No, they hate us.

Speaker 3 (03:13):
Yeah, no, least it's when you go to his boat
at the marina. He'll walk you down and they'll be like, yoh,
look at that boat, big boat there. Oh my god,
look at that one, my dream boat. Right there, there's
a sailboat. That's a shame.

Speaker 9 (03:25):
Well, you told me, you know, you know, he told
me the reason why he goes to the Hangham Harbor Marina.

Speaker 5 (03:30):
Is because he has the biggest boat.

Speaker 1 (03:32):
Okay, that's not what I said. First of all, back
to the sailboats. They don't like us. They call us guzzlers. Right,
here's the irony of sailboats. Okay, sailboats will patch you
all day long right in the water. Never have their

(03:52):
sails up. They're running their motors.

Speaker 2 (03:54):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (03:54):
Funny because on the way back from p Town a
couple of weeks ago on your boat, sailboat's going right
by us with the motor.

Speaker 2 (04:01):
Yeah, the motor. And yet they're telling us we're guzzling.
Can we go to Mallory please? I'm sure.

Speaker 1 (04:08):
Yeah, Hey Mallory, I think you could be the first
Mallory ever to call into the show.

Speaker 10 (04:16):
Not actually I've called in before.

Speaker 2 (04:18):
But you're the same Mallory.

Speaker 11 (04:21):
I am okay, so you're right right, one and only.

Speaker 2 (04:26):
Yes, Yeah, I love that name. Are you a big
Benson Boom fan?

Speaker 11 (04:30):
I am?

Speaker 2 (04:32):
What do you think of his song? Mama?

Speaker 11 (04:35):
I agree with the last caller, but I'm gonna have
to listen to it again.

Speaker 1 (04:42):
Yeah, and you're not going to hold it against him
because you're gladly going and has sold out show in
the TV garden.

Speaker 12 (04:49):
Never Nevernber.

Speaker 6 (04:50):
Thank you guys.

Speaker 1 (04:51):
Okay, do you have a code force.

Speaker 10 (04:56):
It's back to school.

Speaker 11 (04:59):
Back which I didn't have to do this year because
my son graduated, so my first year free.

Speaker 1 (05:04):
Okay, Well, Mallory hold on and you're gonna get to
talk to producer Riley.

Speaker 2 (05:08):
That's a regular thrill ride.

Speaker 3 (05:09):
Wow, amazing. Congratulations Mallory. To be an amazing show tonight.
And by the way, once again, what about.

Speaker 5 (05:16):
Bob, Billy and Lisa all the morning away?

Speaker 1 (05:19):
Happy birthday, Riley, Happy birthday to who you Hi?

Speaker 6 (05:25):
This is Riley don I get one.

Speaker 10 (05:28):

Speaker 1 (05:32):
Hey, Riley Donovan.

Speaker 2 (05:33):
You're on the phone.

Speaker 10 (05:35):
I am good morning guys.

Speaker 2 (05:38):
Always sounds so much different now.

Speaker 1 (05:39):
Yeah, amazing women watched you grow up on the show, Riley.

Speaker 10 (05:44):
I know. Yeah, I'm glad that I spent it with y'all.
It was great.

Speaker 1 (05:48):
Got are you spending a lot of time in South Carolina?
And now you've got a southern drawl?

Speaker 2 (05:54):
Y'all know.

Speaker 10 (05:55):
I'm I'm out golfing right now with my Buddy's pretty
good day.

Speaker 1 (05:58):
Okay, shouldn't you better to school one day?

Speaker 10 (06:02):
I am. I am one more day, big.

Speaker 2 (06:04):
High schooler now tomorrow, yeah high schooler.

Speaker 1 (06:07):
Yeah, things are a little different in high school and.

Speaker 10 (06:11):
Now actually have work to do, which is something I
need to learn how to do. Well.

Speaker 2 (06:17):
There's wor work.

Speaker 10 (06:18):
A mom's always like do your homework, and I'm like,
I know, I'll get to it.

Speaker 2 (06:22):
Go to your room to do your homework.

Speaker 10 (06:24):
Just relaxing, enjoying my life, you know.

Speaker 2 (06:27):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (06:27):
So well documented on The Billy and Lisa Morning Show.
Lisa's son Riley has been a correspondent representing the show
on the show The Bachelor, the entire franchise The Golden Bachelor.
So the new season of the Golden Bachelor is coming up,
But who's this guy?

Speaker 10 (06:44):
Mel Owens and you know, I researched him last night.
He's sixty six year old. He played for the Rams
as a linebacker, and you know he he was. He
got into a lot of trouble socially for saying that
he was not comfortable dating woman over sixty, even though
that's what the Golden Bachelor is. He was more comfortable with,

(07:04):
you know, thirty five forty age range.

Speaker 6 (07:07):
But well, he's in a little hot water because he
said that.

Speaker 1 (07:11):
In course of your research, Riley, Now, did this fella
actually play for the Rams or was it like the
practice squad? It's always like almost blade.

Speaker 10 (07:21):
You know, he seems when I first saw him, I
thought it was Kate Blanchette. That was my first impression.
You know, it's a little up a doodle dooo in
his hair, But that's what I first thought. I was
wrong after doing more research in that, But you know,
I don't think it's I mean, he's not He's not

(07:42):
a Gary. Let's just say that he's not Gary. He's
very different.

Speaker 1 (07:46):
Well Gary up being a creep, right, I.

Speaker 10 (07:49):
Know, But I know, I don't know if that's what
turns the older ladies on. I don't know if that's
what gets them going. But I don't know if this
guy is going to be you know, all of that
because of his you know, his past. He's very different
from Gary.

Speaker 1 (08:02):
Well, if things go horribly wrong, you know what happens,
it's so long, Mel.

Speaker 6 (08:10):
I think we'll be playing that a lot.

Speaker 1 (08:12):
Yeah, So who are the women that are going to
be vuying for Mel's love?

Speaker 10 (08:17):
So, you know, I think this is going to be
a much younger audience. I think it's going to be
much more like, you know, upbeat audience. It's not going
to be so like And I think there's gonna be
a lot more drama in the season. I think the
producers took a look at the season and they said, well,
you know, they're a little bit too nice. Yeah, because
the entire franchise is about drama and about villains, and

(08:38):
there's just been none of that yet in the Golden
Bachelor of season.

Speaker 6 (08:41):
Yeah, I totally agree with you. I think we're gonna
be hate watching.

Speaker 5 (08:43):
Mel, I know.

Speaker 10 (08:45):
But what I'm actually excited to see is the change
in the franchise and see how people respond to his
you know commentary and his you know once, which are
not not what the people in the pass have won
it on the Golden seasons.

Speaker 2 (09:01):
Well, they hint on the.

Speaker 1 (09:02):
Past season was that the women were more in love
with each other.

Speaker 8 (09:06):
Than they did and they still are best friend friends
best friends, they together or something, but I think it
was two of them were on.

Speaker 10 (09:16):
Yeah, the Paradise season just.

Speaker 3 (09:18):
Not no juice in the show nor I think so
to look a look, how look how it's starting now
with drama with Mela.

Speaker 6 (09:26):
You know that Riley plays Maja's champion.

Speaker 1 (09:31):
Yes, yeah, oh yeah, you know I was.

Speaker 10 (09:33):
I was a champion at Berkeley Hall. I won seven
dollars one day.

Speaker 2 (09:37):
From the old ladies you must get.

Speaker 6 (09:40):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (09:40):
Well, Riley, happy birthday and we look forward to the
new season of The Golden Bachelor.

Speaker 10 (09:45):
Thanks guys. I'll be on this fall. Excited to be.

Speaker 1 (09:49):
Back on, coming to a TV near you this fall.

Speaker 10 (09:55):
You love you. Bye.

Speaker 1 (09:57):
I got to go hit my shot, Okay, okay, and
there we goes.

Speaker 3 (10:01):
Hey, this is damn from Imagine Dragons and you're waking
up with Billy and Lisa in the morning on Kiss
one O eight.

Speaker 5 (10:08):
Now the entertainment updates with a Billy Godsead.

Speaker 1 (10:11):
All right, so the big story here, Benson Boone's gonna
sold out show in the TV Garden tonight. Earlier in
the show this morning, we gave away last minute tickets
and I got to tell you something. There are always
surprises now at the Benson Boone show is a good
reason nationally it's sold out in nine minutes. At his
show over the weekend in Montreal, he did a cover

(10:32):
of Lady Gaga's Shallow Thought it was Lady Gaga and
Justin played it for me earlier this morning.

Speaker 3 (10:37):
It's fantastic. He really He's got a great voice, great
vocal range.

Speaker 2 (10:41):
Yeah, he can reinvent himself.

Speaker 3 (10:43):
Yeah, you could expect him to do a surprise cover
tonight in the garden for sure.

Speaker 2 (10:46):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (10:47):
Well last week at a previous show, he's choosing these
impossible voices too. Who's he going to cover in the
Garden tonight?

Speaker 3 (10:55):
We'll see, Wow, he sings well and he flips well.

Speaker 1 (10:59):
Yeah, oh yeah, he'll definitely be doing the flip. Does
he do it multiple times during the show or just
the one flip and it's over.

Speaker 2 (11:06):
I'm not sure.

Speaker 5 (11:07):
Acrobatics.

Speaker 3 (11:08):
I know is that every time Billy's watching him flip,
Billy's secretly hoping that he is going to be the time.

Speaker 2 (11:16):
This is going to be it.

Speaker 1 (11:17):
Imagine what would happen, Like they have to put him
in a like a stretcher and wheel him out.

Speaker 2 (11:23):
I mean, I'm not hoping for.

Speaker 3 (11:24):
It, right, No, no, no, of course, not that it
would be shocked, but it does, it does happen.

Speaker 2 (11:29):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (11:29):
Meantime, the Jonas Brothers this past weekend in Dallas brought
out Fifth Harmony minus Camila Cabeo. I think Camilla is
on her own solo tour. She is in Australia.

Speaker 9 (11:42):
No less, if she was in Dallas, she wouldn't have
gone to this. She has no interest.

Speaker 1 (11:46):
I don't think so what happened between them? Was there
an incident to the rest was Harmony?

Speaker 2 (11:53):
In the fifth?

Speaker 6 (11:54):
Normany? There were some things with Normandy.

Speaker 5 (11:56):
Who was the lead singer.

Speaker 9 (11:58):
You know, obviously you know it's five in which sometimes
can cause some you know, they're like sisters for a
couple of years.

Speaker 2 (12:03):
Yeah, and they were asked, but they played the fifth.

Speaker 6 (12:06):
I have to say when they were touring together and
they would come to our show's nicest group always said
oh hi Billy, Hi Lisa. They always remembered our names.

Speaker 2 (12:15):
Oh oh absolutely, hey, we're.

Speaker 6 (12:17):
Harmony and we're hanging with Billy Costa.

Speaker 5 (12:20):
Is it Costa? Yeah, Bill, Billy, I need to try.
I need you to know that.

Speaker 9 (12:26):
At the Jones Brothers concert in Dallas, it was a huge,
one of their bigger ones. Kelsey Ballerini was there, Ryan Cabrera,
I believe Plain White Teas.

Speaker 5 (12:34):
It brought them all out.

Speaker 9 (12:35):
But Kevin Jonas did his solo song again second time
on the tour.

Speaker 1 (12:40):
Okay, he's got a song. Of course he's going to
play it. That We finally gave him something. And you
know what else, They gave him the wire that plugs
their guitar in.

Speaker 3 (12:49):
So I'm reading the timeline of Fifth Harmony in their breakup.
So in twenty seventeen July, Camilla unfollowed all the other
girls on Fifth Harmony, and then they unfollowed her back.
That was in July twenty seventeen. In August twenty seventeen,
Fifth Homony performed at the VMA Awards and featured a
dummy in place of Camilla, which then fell off the stage.

(13:10):
Camilla revealed that her feelings were hurt when she watched
that performance.

Speaker 1 (13:14):
Did it fall off the stage or was it kicked?

Speaker 2 (13:17):
I'm not sure. I think it just you know, she
took a fall.

Speaker 6 (13:21):
So there's a lot of animosity apparently.

Speaker 5 (13:24):
Wow, I can't live in eight years since they broke up.

Speaker 2 (13:26):
Really, yeah, that's a billion Benson.

Speaker 1 (13:30):
He took some sort of fall his injuries.

Speaker 2 (13:36):
Hey, you know we all have to.

Speaker 1 (13:38):
Go to the Burning Man Festival next year.

Speaker 5 (13:40):
I could never.

Speaker 1 (13:41):
This thing freaks me out, Like, I don't know who
these people are.

Speaker 2 (13:44):
I don't know what this music is.

Speaker 1 (13:46):
All I know is they survived a catastrophic sandstorm and
still hung out for the rest of the week. Their
tents were gone, everything was gone.

Speaker 6 (13:55):
They walk around with like gas masks on high Yeah.

Speaker 5 (14:01):
I did the gas minks.

Speaker 9 (14:02):
They're putting like the drugs in it so they get outtray.

Speaker 1 (14:05):
So at the wrap up weekend this past weekend in Nevada,
there was both a death and a birth. So we'll
hit on the death first. It was a murder. Oh
yis Yeah. A man's body was found in a pool
of blood. It was found by another fan who just
wandering around aimlessly. And what do you know, there was
a body in a pool of blood and they're still

(14:25):
looking for suspects.

Speaker 2 (14:26):
They have no idea what happened there.

Speaker 1 (14:29):
And then Later in the weekend, a Utah woman at
the festival gave birth and didn't even know she was pregnant.

Speaker 2 (14:36):
We've got her aunt right now.

Speaker 11 (14:37):
My brother and his wife, Kyla, this was their first
time to Burning Man. Kayla woke up, wasn't filling. My
brother Casey ran out and said, I need help. Within minutes,
they had like an obg I N and there in
his underwear helping. They had so many of the right
people so close. There were no signs of pregnancy. We

(14:59):
were at the lake the weekend before. She was in
a swimming suit.

Speaker 5 (15:02):
She did not look pregnant.

Speaker 6 (15:04):
Okay, that phenomenon does exist, but I have one question.
There was an ob g y N in his underwear.

Speaker 2 (15:10):
That's all I care about. Congratulations by the way on
the birth.

Speaker 5 (15:13):
But you know, doctors work hard, so they just have
to party.

Speaker 6 (15:16):
Hard, play hard.

Speaker 1 (15:17):
Yeah, if you're at that festival, you're high.

Speaker 2 (15:21):
It's a kite.

Speaker 1 (15:22):
And she was pregnant and didn't know it.

Speaker 2 (15:24):
Yeah, well, we don't know. If she was high.

Speaker 3 (15:26):
It's likely, you know, you trip, you know, it's a
it's a spiritual what they say.

Speaker 6 (15:32):
I don't think everyone there is doing drugs.

Speaker 1 (15:35):
Have seen the videos could you go sober?

Speaker 5 (15:38):
I don't know if you.

Speaker 6 (15:39):
Could of drinks, but I mean, I don't know if
I would, like it's not.

Speaker 2 (15:43):
A drink thing.

Speaker 1 (15:44):
These are there's zombies still around, like zombies.

Speaker 6 (15:47):
Yeah, I don't think I could.

Speaker 9 (15:48):
Do being sober. Amongst that, I don't think it would
work out for anybody.

Speaker 1 (15:52):
I still think we should all go. We'll broadcast.

Speaker 3 (15:54):
I can't that puts me in jeopardy alone, would get justin.

Speaker 1 (15:59):
High Oh god, yeah, okay, so forget that idea.

Speaker 2 (16:03):
You want to go to Nevada?

Speaker 5 (16:05):
No, don't.

Speaker 2 (16:06):
The announcement comes over the loud speaker.

Speaker 12 (16:09):
To get back to the warning that I've received.

Speaker 2 (16:12):
You might take it with how many, however many grains
of salt.

Speaker 12 (16:15):
She wish that the brown asset that is circulating around
us is not specifically too good.

Speaker 1 (16:21):
Yeah, that was from That was from Woodston, wood Shock,
Beware the brown acid. MTV Awards are this coming Sunday night.
Lady Gaga just announced as a performer and she joins
a huge lineup Gaga, Sabrina Carpenter, Jelly Roll, Tate McCrae,
Post Malone, Mariah Doja Cat That's a big show that's

(16:42):
coming Sunday night. And by the way, MTB all this
week will play music videos twenty four to seven on
several of their MTB channels. I guess they have a
handful of them.

Speaker 5 (16:49):
Yeah, they have like MTV two. I don't know, MTV three,
they have a like MTV Live. Yeah, they have won
JEST for music videos.

Speaker 1 (16:57):
By the way, the awards are being broadcast on CBS
for the first time the.

Speaker 3 (17:00):
Regular MTV channel. All they play is Ridiculousness, the show
with Rockney. Yeah, it's like over and over again, dude, Like,
come up with some new content.

Speaker 1 (17:08):
You've seen all of the episodes five times.

Speaker 9 (17:11):
Justin you say that I have a Samsung TV and
there is a station that I is.

Speaker 5 (17:15):
Just dedicated to Ridiculousness.

Speaker 2 (17:17):
Yeah. It's a good show, but it's too much.

Speaker 5 (17:19):
Yeah, just that popular, No, I mean by default.

Speaker 1 (17:22):
Maybe it's a skateboarders.

Speaker 5 (17:24):
Yeah, it's like America's funniest home videos.

Speaker 3 (17:26):
But like yeah, yeah dirty, or I've seen enough Chanel
West Coast for a lifetime.

Speaker 1 (17:31):
Yeah, how about this one? The weekend song Blinding Lights
first ever to pass five billion streams.

Speaker 2 (17:41):
Yeah that's crazy.

Speaker 3 (17:43):
Yeah, I did the math on this. I made an
error earlier, So I did do the math on the
upper end of the stream.

Speaker 2 (17:48):
They get something like point.

Speaker 3 (17:49):
Zero zero five sense, so not five cents, but whatever,
some serious money. I mean, I did the math on
the streams and it says that the weekend could have
made up to two hundred and fifty million dollars from
five billion streams.

Speaker 9 (18:02):
Two hundred and fifty thousand probably sounds right with the
point point five pennies.

Speaker 2 (18:07):
Got to be in the millions at least, it's got
to be right.

Speaker 5 (18:10):
Well, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (18:11):
It's a good hit.

Speaker 5 (18:12):
The streaming services really don't pay much at all.

Speaker 2 (18:14):
That's why radio. You know it does radio, that's right, Yeah, yeah,
it's the most just saying.

Speaker 1 (18:19):
Speaking of billions, the Powerball jackpot tomorrow night one point
three billion, no big winner, although a million dollar ticket
was sold in Massachusetts for last night's Star Again, I
didn't get a single digit.

Speaker 2 (18:34):

Speaker 6 (18:36):
I only about one quick pick and I didn't get anything.

will be signs.

Speaker 3 (18:41):
Yeah, oh yeah, come wait go set disappearment, so buy
the cheesecake factory.

Speaker 2 (18:47):
Shouldn't There'll be a news story. The Cheesecake Factory has
new ownership.

Speaker 1 (18:52):

Speaker 2 (18:55):
The Jaws movie back in theater.

Speaker 1 (19:00):
Is this weekend. It's the fiftieth annivers where he continues,
and it still came in second to the movie Weapons,
which I want to see eventually.

Speaker 5 (19:07):
I saw it.

Speaker 3 (19:08):
Did I did not see it, but like it. I
did see a screenshot of a child with some like
a scary child. But then I saw another screenshot of
it looked like a woman laying down with like the
stuff on her face, and that was freaked out by
those images.

Speaker 9 (19:22):
It's a lot, and I'm not a scary movie person.
The plot was great, but some of the stuff at
the end that was like, well yeah, I mean my
boyfriend saw it like the weekend.

Speaker 5 (19:30):
It came out okay.

Speaker 3 (19:31):
But if you're into scary stuff, horror, yeah, it's great.

Speaker 1 (19:35):
Justin over the weekend. You saw the eminem documentary, How
was it?

Speaker 2 (19:38):
Loved it?

Speaker 3 (19:39):
It's called Stands. It's on Paramount Plus. It goes through
his whole career and it focuses on his hardcore fans.
Remember he had that song called Stan. Yeah, but if
you're an Eminem fan, you will love it. How many episodes.
It's just one hour and a half documentary. Oh even better,
but it goes to his whole career from start to finish,
him getting clean into recovery. Wow, really really well done.

Speaker 1 (19:58):
All right, we brought to you by the ninety nine

sort of a fall, has injuries.

Speaker 6 (20:18):
From the Planet Fitness Kiss one Away Studios. We're back
with Billy and Lisa in the morning on.

Speaker 2 (20:25):
Hey guys, welcome back.

Speaker 1 (20:27):
We're going to get serious for a couple of minutes
on the Billy and Lisa Morning Show. Some of you
may or may not know that last year my wife
Michelle and I went to Africa. It was May and
her very first trip to Africa. It was a life
changing trip and we're actually going back October third, and
our very first stop and our very first trip to

(20:49):
Africa was an elephant sanctuary Wilds Life Yeah, you called
in from the sanctuary, which is an amazing place if
you can imagine. It's in the middle of the wild,
the middle of the bush. And what they do is
they take in elephants and other animals, eat zebra who
have been abused, mistreated, or you really severely injured by

(21:11):
poachers or whatever else might happen in the wild, pray
and you know, they're somebody else's prey. And it was
a magical place to be at. And when we were
going back October third, our very first stop was going
to be in Herrare and it's where the headquarters for
Wild This Life is. And then we found out just
yesterday over the weekend there was a horrible fire at

(21:35):
Wild This Life. It actually started at a farm next door,
but it spread to the sanctuary and the warehouse where
all of the food for all of the animals was
burned up.

Speaker 2 (21:48):
Man.

Speaker 3 (21:48):
Yeah, Billy called me yesterday with his wife, Michelle, and
they were very upset about it, and I said, we
have to talk about this.

Speaker 2 (21:54):
We got to get the word out. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (21:55):
So my wife, Michelle, you may or may not know,
is a biomagnetic practitioner. She been working with some of
the animals remotely in in Africa. So we've talked several
times with Roxy, who is the founder of Wild This Life,
but right now we've got her all the sudden. Josh
on the phone from Africa, Josh, can you hear us?

Speaker 12 (22:19):
You? Good afternoon from Zimbabwe. How are you guys doing.

Speaker 1 (22:22):
Oh, this is unbelievable, Just like that, we're talking to
Josh in Zimbabwe. So good morning, Josh. We're all doing fine.
But didn't you actually have to step in and help
fight the fire over this past weekend?

Speaker 12 (22:39):
Yes, I did. It was it was terrible. It was Yeah,
it was really bad. The word fire we've ever had
on this sum and it was terrifying actually because whatever
we were doing to fight the fire, it just kept
on coming. The winds were very strong. Yeah, we had
a whole team, hundreds of people fighting the flab, we

(22:59):
had the engines from the airport next door, and yeah,
we just couldn't contain it. So it burnt a huge
part of the farm. We actually managed to stop the
fire at first by about lunchtime, but then and we
had protected most of the farm, but then fire restarted again.

(23:20):
But it's a huge part of the farm, including the
game park where the animals stays. So luckily we were
able to move the animals away from the area that
got burnt. But the big problem for us now is
that all the food for the animals for the next
at least four months until it rains is longer. It's
all been burnt. Four month tragedy.

Speaker 2 (23:45):
But again you said four months, Josh, Yes.

Speaker 12 (23:50):
Yeah, that's it because it's only the beginning of the
dry season now and we'll only get rains in four months,
so hopefully, you know, a lot of the bush will
go back, but between and then there's no hope of
that bush recovering until the rains arrive.

Speaker 1 (24:05):
And Joss, could you put some more perspective on it
in terms of how much food and what this could
mean to the animals. Could they basically starve to death?

Speaker 10 (24:16):
Yeah?

Speaker 12 (24:17):
If we don't do anything, they will, sadly. So we
are trying our best to come up with whatever point
we can make. And I'm so grateful to you guys
for your interest and concern on this. But basically, yeah,
there are a lot of animals living here, Elephants, giraffes
who do sable, many other kinds of animals that all yeah,

(24:38):
all needs good food, you know, and then in the
case of the elephants and giraffe, a lot of food.
So I mean there are some measures we can take
our planet. The moment is tryed to try and secure
as much lucer or think you guys call it alfalfa,
because that's good food for the browsers. The hay we
can get more easily, but olfalfa is quite hard to find. Wow,

(25:01):
So we are busy trying to secure a source of
alfalfa to carry us through the next few months.

Speaker 1 (25:07):
And having been there, Joss, I can say from personal experience,
these animals have a very large appetite.

Speaker 12 (25:14):
Yes they do, they rarely do, yeah, and they need
good body food.

Speaker 1 (25:18):
You know.

Speaker 12 (25:18):
It's especially for the browsers. For the grazes it's a
little bit easier yet, hey, But for the browsers, our
only often is ourfalfa, which is in quite short supply.
So we are pretty much scrambling to secure whatever stocks
we can to carry through the next few months.

Speaker 1 (25:36):
And Joss, even before the food was burned up, I mean,
most of these animals are already facing severe challenges, right,
Can you talk to that.

Speaker 12 (25:46):
Yes, that's true. All of the animals here are all
rescued animals, so you know, they're already on their second
chance at life. Many of them are orphans. Most of
them are orphans actually, or the progeny of orphans. Others
been rescued from different situations, you know, injuries due to
poaching or conflict. So yeah, they are they're already on

(26:08):
their second chance at life. So we've got to do
everything we can to protect them and carry them through
this tough time.

Speaker 2 (26:15):
Well, let's do it.

Speaker 1 (26:16):
Let's do what we can right now, because I know
you've got a website and people can go there and
they can donate.

Speaker 2 (26:22):
In fact, they can use credit.

Speaker 12 (26:23):
Cards, right, Yes, yes, we do have a website and
there is a way to donate directly to support the
animals through the website. So yeah, if there is anyone
out who could help us, we would hugely appreciate it.
We are really under a lot of pressure. Were really

(26:43):
worried about the next few months.

Speaker 1 (26:45):
Yeah, I mean, whether it's an individual or a business
out there that wants it. We're talking about food for
four months for these animals that are already challenged. So
the website JOS is wild islife dot org.

Speaker 12 (26:58):
Right, Yes, that's correct.

Speaker 1 (27:01):
Wild life is life dot org. Josh, thank you so
much for taking some time out to speak with us.

Speaker 2 (27:09):
This is kind of cool.

Speaker 1 (27:10):
We're talking to you all the way there in Zimbabwe
and I'll see you in a few weeks.

Speaker 12 (27:14):
For me too. Yeah, that's great. I've actually got a
little baby Elson walking past me at the moment. Yeah.
Thank you guys so much for your support and concern.
We really really appreciate it. We need all the help
we can get.

Speaker 1 (27:27):
All right, Thank you very much, Josh. And again it's
wild islife dot org. This is such a magical place.
I'm getting children.

Speaker 6 (27:34):
If you can give, if you're listening and you can give,
it would be so impactful.

Speaker 3 (27:39):
And if not even even your thoughts on the poor animals.
But did you ever have in your bingo card Billy
doing this for Africa?

Speaker 6 (27:46):
No, I love it.

Speaker 3 (27:49):
Goal last year it's his wife's dream. It was the
wedding gift. He fell in love with it and he's
going back this year.

Speaker 2 (27:54):
I cried when I heard about that.

Speaker 6 (27:55):
It's a spiritual, magical place there.

Speaker 1 (27:57):
Yeah, and you'll see what they've been through and what
going through and you'll be going back in just a
few weeks.

Speaker 2 (28:02):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (28:02):
Wow, Billy A Lisa every morning just went to wait justin.

Speaker 1 (28:06):
I'm guessing you've got some good talkback leftovers in there.

Speaker 2 (28:09):
I mean, especially after a long weekend.

Speaker 3 (28:11):
A lot of people checking in over the weekend today
on the talkback Mike. That's why this segment exists. It's
called talkback leftovers, the ones we couldn't get to, but
we want to hear from you.

Speaker 2 (28:19):
We appreciate it.

Speaker 7 (28:20):

Speaker 3 (29:20):
That's the woman who found her father and father through
the DNA test and track them all down.

Speaker 5 (29:26):
You know what's funny.

Speaker 9 (29:27):
After we had her call in, I was at least
his book club and I met a couple and they
were talking about their sperm donor journey and I was like,
oh my god, we just talked to somebody this morning
about her being a sperm donor child.

Speaker 5 (29:38):
Isn't that crazy?

Speaker 2 (29:39):
Wow, that's a part of our life today.

Speaker 12 (29:41):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (29:42):
You know, it's hard to follow when they were calling
in with all of the different legs of the family chains,
and everyone's like.

Speaker 2 (29:47):
Well, who's what and where why? What? Well?

Speaker 3 (29:50):
Sammy went the extra mile. Oh you have to appreciate,
you know, she went like true, you know.

Speaker 6 (29:54):
Private TECHNI yes, yeah, in track she looked up obituaries
and wait, she's deep duve.

Speaker 3 (30:01):

might have noticed that something was a little bit weird
or off.

Speaker 13 (30:07):

weekend by Fanuel.

Speaker 5 (30:13):
