Speaker 1 (00:00):
And then there was only one. Hi, everybody, Welcome to
the After Show Podcast. I'm justin no, I do not
have anybody with me today. I'm just jumping on for
a couple of minutes really quickly. Billy's not here, Lisa's
not here, They're all have left the building. It's been
a crazy week. But you know, I just wanted to

(00:20):
share a couple of things about this podcast and about
the future, and about what happened this week, and you
know the reaction from everybody, So as far as the
After Show podcast goes, one thing that I really took
away from all of the madness and all of the
sadness that has gone on with Winnie and her leaving

(00:40):
the show is how many people listen to this podcast.
It's really amazing. I would always joke with Winnie and say, though,
this little podcast that we do every day that is
sometimes five minutes and sometimes thirty minutes, and we don't
put a ton of planning. Actually we don't put any
planning into this podcast has a lot of listeners. And

(01:02):
you know that leaves me torn because one, I'm sad
that Whennie's not here to do it with me anymore,
and two, where do we go from here, that's the question,
you know. And I want to do a podcast every day,
but it's like, you know, getting Billy or Lisa. I
can bring in special guests, and I guess what I
want to know from our listeners, what do you want?

(01:22):
And please don't DM me. We want Winnie back. I know,
I want Winnie back. You know, Winnie is failing at
the most out of anybody, because she was taking off
the show, you know what I mean, Like the changes
were made and people are obviously mad and they're upset,
and she is failing at the most. She does not
have her job and that sucks. I was talking to
her last night and kind of going over everything. She

(01:45):
was explaining how crazy her Instagram is and what she's
been up to, and she's good, she's failing good. Obviously
she's sad, but she's hopeful for the future. And we
were kind of like at one point laughing about all
the outrage and the anger towards everybody on the show,
but mainly me that people are like calling me scumbag
and this and that, and I get it. I get
the anger, but you have to understand this is what

(02:07):
Winnie said. She's like they just don't understand how this
media game works. It's like this in radio, it's like
this in TV. It's like this on the news. They
just make changes. And it's not even in this building.
It's not even our boss here. Our boss here was told, hey,
you need to cut this person in. This person. You know,
the shows need to get smaller. They hit Jim and
they hit Kiss, but the out the outrage on Kiss

(02:29):
is understandable. You know, the four of us worked so
well together. We started the show together. You know, obviously
Winnie and I started on The Maddie Show, and then
we kind of joined forces when Maddie retired, and that
was a whole scene that we went through together. And
now here we are, She's taken out the show, boom
out of nowhere, So you know, where do we go

(02:49):
from here? Right? And I asked Winnie that too, like
what do we do? And She's like, you'll be fine.
You know, You'll you'll find people to join it. It's
not gonna be the same. And I'm gonna do my best.
I'm gonna I'm gonn to do my best. But I
did say to Winnie last night, I go God forbid,
God forbid. I was joking, but I'm a god forbid
you can jump on and defend your boy here from
these comments that are coming in. See I read all

(03:12):
the comments and typically they don't really bother me. I
mentioned the drug addiction thing bothers me. But another thing
that bothers me is that while it's like crazy Lane
sad that Whinnie's gone, you know, we all showed up together,
the four of us, and put together a show every
single day, right, and we did our best to entertain
and to laugh and to have fun and get through

(03:34):
the transition of a maddie a legend retiring. And that's
what we did every day. And you know, now that
Whinnie's not on the show, we're still doing that. We're
still doing the show as best we can. Although it's
different and the people that are boycotting the show I understand,
but there's nothing that we can do. There's nothing that
we can do. Like literally, even when he said it
to me last night, she's like, you guys can't do anything.

(03:55):
When he knows Whennie has been here, when many people
have been let go, She's seen it over and over again.
You just have to move on. And so it's been tough. Man.
The talkbacks come in and they're like, Yo, this show sucks.
I'm not listening anymore. And it really like that's the
thing that kind of hurts me. It's like, well, we're
still here trying to put a show on. We're still
doing the work that we've been doing, and I know

(04:16):
it is different, but it's just been hard. Man. It's
it's again, it's hard to keep going without her and
to put on this show and to do this after show.
And you know, I get the rage. I really do,
I really do, but it just is what it is.
And today I got some talkbacks kind of around what

(04:37):
I talked about earlier in the week is people are
just kind of finding out, and they're gonna keep just
finding out because people are busy and they're not glued
to this show all the time, and so they're gonna
tune in after finding out that when he's gone, and
they're gonna hear us laughing like we're some one big,
happy family, and it's like, it sucks, but the show

(04:57):
has to go on. We are under contract. You have
to understand. It's another thing. When he said she goes,
You guys have contracts. We sign a contract where we
have to show up and do our job, and that's
we have a job of entertainment. So with that being said,
I know the show is different. I know we feel
the show is different. To have that young voice, to

(05:18):
have that Winnie voice, that edge, that that person that
jumped in and said whatever the hell was on her mind,
that said what people were listening in their car thinking
when he would say, I can't do that. Billy is
his own person, Lisa's her own for everyone had a
role on the show. That all went together, and now
there's a missing piece. So we're doing the best we can.

(05:38):
That's all we can say. And if you choose to
not listen to this show anymore, I understand. I'm not
mad about that. I'm a little hurt about it because
you know, we put a lot of work into this show.
We show up every single day. It's a lot of pressure.
It's not easy to do a morning radio show live
every single day for four hours. So you know, to say, well,

(05:59):
fuck you when he's not on the show anymore, fuck
you three, which is basically what it is. It kind
of hurts a little bit, but I understand, I understand.
You know, some of the other comments I've gotten is
that it wasn't addressed on air enough. I understand that
as well. That's a directive that we were told. Okay,
if it were up to us, we would have done
it differently, but that's the way it goes. The same

(06:22):
thing down the hall on jam and the same thing
across the country. Like you're allotted a short time to
explain what happened and then you move on. Is it cold? Yes,
it is one hundred percent cold. I felt that, man,
I felt it. It's been tough, and you know how
hard it is to laugh when you're going through pain,
Like laughing through pain and not feeling good. It's really hard. Man.

(06:45):
So I don't know. I didn't want to come out
here and a bitch and complain about Hord my life
is because I have a really good life. But I'm
sad about Winnie, and we're all sad about Winnie and
it sucks. So as far as this after show podcast goes,
I'm gonna do the best that we can. I did
get a comment from yesterday's podcast about producer Riley and
that it was too soon to introduce her on the podcast,

(07:08):
not on the air, you know, and I understood, you know.
The person said it's like when your parents divorce and
then the mom of the dad is like quickly moving
on to somebody else. I want to be very clear here,
Producer Riley did not replace Winnie. Producer Riley replace part
of Winnie's job. She does not have a microphone on
the show. She is there to run the equipment, to

(07:30):
run the board because I have to be in a
different studio. So she is hard at work. She doesn't
make a lot of money. She's starting right at the bottom.
She was our phone screener slash producer who basically assisted me,
Winnie and I and now she's doing Winnie's job plus
all the other stuff. She doesn't know what's going on.
She's just showing up to work. She's a young girl.

(07:51):
She's twenty five years old. She works for the Bruins
and she works for Kiss one Away part time. At
both jobs, she's just trying to make it. Like when
I was at Friendli's right work out the radio station.
She's doing the same exact thing, and so please, I
don't want any hatred towards her. Like literally, she doesn't
even have a microphone. She can't talk and defend herself,
and she's like what the hell was going on, Like okay,

(08:12):
and I'm like Riley, like you need to step up
and do this and help me and thank you. And
we're very thankful for Riley for what she does. So
it kind of made me rethink, like do I put
her on the podcast for an episode and get her
take on what it's been like? I don't know, let
me know. Obviously, I'll try to get Billy, I'll try
to get Lisa. Lisa is very busy. She's like the
most overworked person between you know, clients and endorsements and

(08:35):
book clubs. But I'll do the best I can, and
you know, I'll have my guy some power of recovery,
and maybe I'll get Ashley down the hall at gym
and to talk about what it's been like for her.
That's actually a good idea to get Ashley and or
Santi down talk about losing far and what that's been
like for them. So going into next week, I'm gonna
keep the after show going. Man, this this little dumb
podcast has people that listen and love and care what

(08:58):
we say, and it just it feels good. You know,
I'm hurt and I don't feel that great, but it
feels good. That people care about what we have to say.
And yes, this is the more vulnerable place where we
can share the honest stories. And that's what people loved
about it. And they loved Winnie and I together because
we we kind of offset each other. I always joked
at Winnie knew more about me than anybody in my life,

(09:19):
probably more than anybody but my wife, actual wife. She
was like my work wife. So and miss Winnie. We
miss Winnie. We've been talking to her. She's doing just fine.
She posted a reel of when she went to Florida.
We love that she you know, got laid off and
then booked a flight to Florida. She's doing good with
her man the cloth man, and she's gonna be okay. Man,

(09:39):
this is all gonna it's all gonna pass by and
and and the pain will get you know, less and
less for our listeners and for Winnie and uh and
for us too, you know, as we as we move on.
So that's gonna do it for the after show. Thank
you everybody for listening. And again, any questions or comments
you can always hit me up. I can't guarantee I
we'll get back to you, but you know I'll see them,

(10:00):
I'll see them, and I love you guys, and we'll
talk next week. Have a great weekend. It's gonna be nice,
the weather's gonna be nice and go able. My son
first playoff game tomorrow in Salem, New Hampshire, so hopefully
they win and keep going in the playoffs. But anyway,
we'll see it. Bye.
