Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey, guys, what up? It is the after show podcast?
Justin here, quick quick one today I have to check in.
It's getting really busy around here. You know. It's Turkey Toss,
jingle Ball. So much stuff going on, so many meetings. God,
if you've been listening to this podcast for a long time,
you know that we have a lot of meetings. One
would argue too many meetings that could easily be emails.
But anyway, I digress. I'm here and I just wanted

(00:22):
to say Hi. I never want to leave you hanging. Yeah,
like I said, there's a lot of stuff coming up.
Obviously jingle Ball, which we've been talking about Turkey Toss,
but also end of the year stuff, so I've been
kind of working on that and you know, doing my thing.
But I love to hear from you guys. You can
always leave a talk back if you have a topic
or something. I know people want me to have guests
like listeners. I'm working on all that. I can't promise

(00:43):
that's gonna happen before the end of the year, just
because I'm you know, I'm working on so many things
and trying to get everything done. We have the end
of the year stuff, the countdown, the show countdown, the
music countdown, whatever, just all the stuff that I do.
It's the busiest time of year in radio, so I'll
do my best to check in as much as I can.
If there is no podcast on a day, don't get

(01:05):
mad at me and DM me. I know I appreciate
being a part of your life, of your routine. I
love everybody that listens. I love when I get a
DM from people and they say I'm an after show
Army member. I love that so much. And even my
friends are listening.

Speaker 2 (01:19):
Now.

Speaker 1 (01:19):
I got a nice compliment for my friend Alan, Alan
the Plumber. I've talked about him before. He listens to
this podcast and gave me. Now, Alan is somebody that
I might have on the podcast though, because he is
quite the character. I love him to death. But he
is as raw as it gets, right like he tells
you how it is right to your face. He is
just there's no pulling any punches with Alan, and it's

(01:40):
not easy that you get a compliment from him, you know,
And I did. He gave me a beautiful comment. I
didn't even know that he was listening to the podcast,
and he said, you know, I've been listening to your
show in the podcast, and I got to say the
podcast is really good. You do a really good job,
and that really warmed my heart. He wasn't just saying
that just to say it. So thank you, Alan, And
maybe one day we'll have him on. We'll have to

(02:01):
keep it well. You just have to keep it clean
because we're not regulated by the FCC on this podcast.
But we'll have to uh to be careful, you know,
because we can definitely tell some crazy stories. I mean,
I met him in recovery. We're both in recovery. I
don't think he minds me saying that, but you know,
we have some crazy stories and how we met and

(02:23):
all that stuff. It was through recovery. But he's had
some bumps in the road, as have I, but his
are pretty crazy. So shout out to him and anybody
else that wants to check in on the on the talkbacks,
if you want to comment on anything that I talk about,
if you want to criticize me or yell at me
or whatever you want to do, yell where's Winny. I
don't give a crap. I'm done with it all. I
just I'm all positive.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
Man.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
That's it. It's onwards and upwards. Things happen in life.
We're onwards and upwards. That's all I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
Okay, I just listened to the podcast with the Power
of Recovery. Guys, I've never been in recovery and I
don't know anyone, but I very much enjoy listening to them.
But this podcast, I realize you are a next level you,
meaning justin our a next level of crazy. So if
you have your wife on, you definitely need to have

(03:10):
her share how she deals with all of your ocd nis.

Speaker 1 (03:14):
Lol.

Speaker 2 (03:15):
Love listening, have a good day.

Speaker 1 (03:17):
You have no idea. I have not asked my wife
if she'll come on. I'd like to get her to
come in, but obviously she works from home. I could
get her on the phone if she agrees, but it
would really paint a picture on what it's like to
be married to me, you know. And I always poke
fond at her for the chicken stuff and all that.
But I don't know. Man, I'm not an easy person

(03:39):
to be married to. I think I'm great to be
married to, but all my craziness and weirdness and things
that I get obsessed with are really hard to deal with.
It's it's always something and I know because when we
have people over the house, like friends of ours, you know,
she'll always go on this rant about the new thing
that Justin's into, how he's obsessed with this. Yeah, it's crazy.

(04:01):
Like I'll give you one thing so you know. So
I have this house right in Salem, New Hampshire. It's
like my dream house. Like we work so hard to
get it and everything. You know, you know the story, right,
I've said it a million times, like we both came
from nothing, came like literally off the streets. We worked
super super hard, busting our ass to like get everything
that we have. Nothing was handed to us. And I'm

(04:21):
really proud of that, right, Like we got help along
the way from family and things like that, but like
we work to get what we have, and we have
this house and I've been able to, like over the years,
right make the house exactly how I want it, right,
And that's like the hots ub came with the house
that was already there. But you know, things like the

(04:41):
sauna and the full wheelers and all that. Although I
did get rid of the four wheelers, but I've set
up my house where I have the sauna and i
have a cold plunge which you know, is not a
super expensive thing. It's an ice barrel and the sauna
I got through work. I paid for it, but I
got like a little bit of a discount, but not much,
you know what I mean. Knowing what spots is fantastic.
They gave me a discount on it, but I paid

(05:03):
for it. And you know, so every night I have
a whole routine, but I always make sure that I
do all my house stuff first. I don't just go in.
I make sure that the kids are okay. I do
all the dishes, I clean the house. I do every
single night. I make sure everything is set, and then
I go into my routine, which is like I go
into the sauna, and then I go into the ice bath,

(05:24):
and then I go into the hot tub, and then
I come upstairs and I shower and I feel good.
And it's like, she doesn't disrupt that routine. It'd be
fine if it did get disrupted, but she knows not
to leave it alone. And she's like, you're super weird.
You have to do this every night, And I'm like, yeah,
in my life, I like doing what I like doing.

(05:44):
I always make sure it doesn't get in the way
and anything else and yes, I will skip it if
something comes up. I'm not like you know, but I
try to get in there every single night. It's just
what I love doing. So I don't know that's one thing,
but I'll do my best to get her on and
she can explain everything and how we met, and it's
really just it's a cool story, man, It's a it's
a really cool story. So anyway, I gotta go get
a jump on a call with Billy Costa because he's

(06:07):
doing an interview with NPR. How about that NPR on
Turkey Toss. They're doing a whole story on the Turkey Toss,
the Orange, the origins of it, how it started. So
they're gonna ask Billy some questions he's gonna answer. I
have to record it. So that's what's going on behind
the scenes on the Billy and Lisa Morning Show. So
after show, Army, we'll talk very soon, I promise.
