Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey, everybody, quick. Hello here, justin just checking in real quick.
(00:03):
It's jingle Ball weekend, so you can imagine very busy.
But I never want to leave you hanging. I know that.
You know, some of you guys look forward to this
podcast as your routine. I always say that because I
believe that it's true, and I do appreciate that. But yeah,
jingle Ball is coming up Sunday night, so we're kind
of wrapping everything up, getting everything ready. It's gonna be
a busy weekend. We have a staff brunch tomorrow at
(00:25):
Strega in the North End. That's gonna be good. I've
never gone before because you know, my children were always
you know, they're little. So I'm gone most of the
day Sunday and then to be gone Saturday and Sunday.
It's a lot on my wife. I mean, she never
told me I couldn't go, but it's more of just
in the back of my head, you know, leaving her
alone with the kids, and obviously her mother's downstairs. But
(00:48):
I don't know, it just seemed like a lot. But
I'm going tomorrow, so that should be fun. I've never
gone before. Never, I've never been to Strega so I'm
looking forward to that. I'll eat some food I've been
eating lately, not like crazy binging, but she's just being
a little bit more lax on my diet, but trying
to control the portions. If you know me, you know
that food is some kind can be an enemy for me.
(01:10):
But I don't know, man, I am. The last couple
of months, I put on a couple of pounds, but
you know, I'm still working out, still doing all that stuff,
and try not to be too crazy. I think in
the spring or March, I'm going to a room in March,
so I think after that I'll dial it back in.
You know, I think the big thing is to not
let myself go, you know, eat whatever I want when
(01:32):
I want. I'm still prepping meals. But it's a tough
life man to to you know, when these events happen
where I can't go to them or I don't want
to go to them because I don't want to eat
the food, because you know, I'm so concerned with you know,
my body and my look, and it's a whole thing,
you know. You know, the fat kN inside of me
is always going to be in there. He's always going
(01:53):
to be in there wanting to come out and tell
him to talking to me and telling me you don't
look good. And you know, that's the little voice inside
of me. You know, it's the same voice that talks
to me about my addiction, same voice that tells me
that I'm not good enough. And it's a whole thing
being me. It's it's an interesting journey, but I am
looking forward to it. I'll eat some food and then
I gotta go shop for an outfit. I always wait
(02:14):
until the day before, well, the day up sometimes to
get the outfit. I'll hit the mall. I'll see what's
going on there, maybe some Macy's or or whatever, and
get it going to get an outfit. So looking forward
to that, and then you know, one more week and
we're done. Man, we're done to the rest of the year.
But we have some good stuff planned. We have some
specials running obviously the year and countdown all the music stuff.
(02:37):
But as far as the show, the show goes. There'll
be a Top twenty five moment, and don't forget we
do the Talkbacker of the Year and all the other
stuff next Friday, and that's a whole thing too. But
you know, I'm not stressing about it. I think we
know who's going to be the talkbacker of the year,
who's going to get the number one spot, but everybody
else will be shouted out right. We'll give recognition to
(02:58):
all the top talkbackers, bunch of them that joined our
show every day and participate, which is really cool. The
talkbacks are. They're a giant part of the show. It's
so wild to me because, you know, when Maddi retired
and then this show came on, the talkbacks had just launched,
like towards the very very end of the Maddie Show,
they had launched, and I remember they came to me
(03:20):
and told me about them, and I go, that's that's dope,
Like I would use those, but Matt won't. And so
I remember, I remember they brought it up to Matt.
I was in the room. They're like, we have this
feature where you can like play talkbacks, play messages from
your listeners, and Maddie goes, I'm not playing those, you know,
because he just didn't get it. You know, that don't
fucking need it. Why do I need that? Why do
(03:41):
I've been you know, at the top for so long.
I don't need to. I don't need it, which I understand.
But when he left and then it was the Billy
and Lisa Show, I'm like, yo, we can use these,
you know, like I can use these in the show.
It was like it's like they were made for me
to use. So you know, that's how I became the godfather.
And I love it being the talk back leader. I
(04:02):
guess if you will, so, yeah, we'll recognize all the
top people and that'll be all be so much fun
next week. But I hope everyone has a great weekend.
If you're coming to jingle Ball, you know, we'll be
in and around the garden as best as we can.
It's very busy backstage. We're doing a live broadcast. But
if I see you, make sure you say hi and
we'll get a picture. And it's a big deal. It's
(04:23):
a big deal for kiss one of wait, it's a
big deal for the Billy and Lisa Show. And I
think we are going on stage. I think we're going
on stage once or twice, which is not always the
most ideal, but I'll be out there. And when you're
on stage, right it's a little behind the scenes. You
can't see anybody. All you see is lights. So when
you get out there. I'm looking around and I literally
(04:43):
don't see anybody. I just see like heads because the
lights are so bright. It's a wild thing. And I
think one year I forget what I said. But yeah,
I don't know. I have a script this year. I
think they're giving everybody a script on things to say,
because I think we're doing a capital one kind of
thing with a winner. I think I don't have to
(05:04):
look it over. There's so much going on. It's jingle
Ball weekend. Anyway, have a great one, hopefully going. If not,
we'll talk on Monday. Bye bye,
