(00:00):
I am always so excited to talkto my friend Beth from Fort taikondar Roga.
First of all, I love FortThai condar Roga. It's amazing and
Beth is just one of the mostupbeat, happiest people you will ever talk
to in the world. Good morning, Beth, how are you. Good
morning, Jamie. I'm so excitedto be with you this morning. I'll
tell you so. First of all, I have to say that I've been

(00:21):
up to Fort Taikonda Roga. Ilove it so much. The boat cruise
was incredible. I can't say itenough. People need to go on the
boat cruise. But we'll get intoall this. I want to start because
there's a really big event going onthis weekend that I want to make sure
people take advantage of and head onup to Fort ticondar Roga for tell everybody

(00:42):
about it. Yeah. So thisweekend we have Defiance and Independence, which
is a two day battle re enactmentand it's really epic where our visitors will
witness the seventeen seventy seven siege ofAmerican Health Taikonda Roga and each day the
story will unfold. Each day isdifferent experiences with the different battle as the

(01:03):
Americans are pressed out from Taikondaroga.I don't want to give the ending away,
so visitors have to come. Butit's just a really incredible opportunity to
come here to Fort taykondar Roga, see everything we have to offer to boat
cruises, the beautiful gardens or museumexhibits, and then on top of that
this epic battle re enactment. Itsounds like it's going to be absolutely amazing,

(01:26):
and I feel like we well,I want to tell people, and
I think that you'll agree, thisis really one of the events that you
really should go for the two days. I mean, you can go to
Fort taykondar Roga and make a dayout of it, and that's wonderful.
But I feel like for this particularevent coming up this weekend on the twenty
second and twenty third, if youcan go for both days. Yeah,

(01:47):
And you know, Jammie, ourtickets are by one day, get the
next day free, and that's everyday we're open Tuesday through Sunday. So
that's a great opportunity for folks. But you're right, especially this event,
because each day is different, FrintAnd and there is so much going on.
So for visitors to have the opportunityto spend both days, they'll really
get a lot out of it.So we look forward to seeing everyone.

(02:09):
Yeah, and it's so great becausethe other thing I love about Fort ticonder
Roga obviously the history. It's amazing. We have so much rich history right
in our own backyard, so headingon up to Fort Taikondar Roga is amazing
for that. But it's also sobeautiful, bess. I mean when I
talk about going on that boat cruise, it was amazing in the gardens.

(02:30):
I mean, it really is justincredible for people to see. Yeah,
you know, it's such an evocativeplace. You feel the power of the
past. You know, a placethat to find the continent and the eighteenth
century world, and you know, the founding of our nation. And then
you couple that with these two thousandacres of scenic landscape Lake Champlain. Our

(02:51):
visitors do love getting out on thewater, and then we have just layers
of history even beyond the military history, while we have so many beautiful gardens,
So that's great. And then alsoon top of the event this weekend,
everybody needs to come on out theend of the month because On July
twenty ninth, our sixth Acre CornMaze opens and that's awesome for families too

(03:13):
looking for summer fun. That mazehas cut out in the shape of the
fort, new design every year.Answer history clues to get through and that
is all part of the four tychondrugaexperience for the same great admissions price.
You've got to check out the cornMaze too. It is so much fun.
I often get lost, Beth, but I'm not the brightest bulb on
the tree. So but you knowa hint two hints. One, if

(03:38):
you get a chance, go upto the fort and do tours and then
you'll be able to answer the historyclues. And two and I did this,
although I didn't know the history clues. I brought my dog Boomer with
me and he led the way out. And that's something. You know,
people really love that we're such adog friendly sight and families. You know,
our dogs are part of our families, and so that's another great way

(03:59):
to get through the maze. I'llhave to make sure I do that.
I'll definitely have to make sure Ido that. It really is an amazing
place though, all getting aside,if you haven't been before Ticonderoga, or
if you've been but it just hasn'tbeen recently, if you haven't been this
year, you really have got tocheck it out. There is so much
for every single person in the familyto do, to enjoy, to learn.

(04:21):
It's the perfect experience and like Isaid, we're so lucky to have
it in our own backyard. Andthis weekend is really the perfect time to
go to see defiance and independence. This two day battle reenactment. That's just
going to be incredible, Beth,it sounds so exciting, My gosh,
it just must be amazing. Itis. It is in one final plug,

(04:44):
Jamie. I don't know if thatour listeners watch Outlander the show,
yes do you? I do?And so yes, I know Daroga right
now in this current season and they'rehere during this seventeen seventy seven campaign that
we're recreating this weekend, but definesan independence event. So it's so cool.

(05:06):
It's like this parallel. You know, we've got the real story here
and it's so fun to see it, you know, in historical fiction on
TV. So for Atlander fans, come on out this weekend because this is
the real story and be immersed init. Yeah, it's so cool.
It adds a whole other layer knowingthat what you're watching on TV and then
there you are really in it.I love it all. It's so great.

(05:29):
Fort Taikonda Roga. You've got toget there. And if you can
get there this weekend, you canfind all the information you need at Fort
Taykonda Roga dot org. Fort TicondaRoga dot org. I'll have it up
