Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to this show. We're glad you're here.
Speaker 2 (00:02):
Hey, everybody, We're at the Cindy Opera show getting ready.
Speaker 1 (00:05):
To go on stage. Oh hey, hey.
Speaker 2 (00:06):
I don't always coming on because I'm always like Alison.
Speaker 1 (00:10):
I'm always like, oh.
Speaker 3 (00:10):
Hi, I'm Allison, Alison and Chelsea.
Speaker 2 (00:14):
We were out of Pineknob on Friday. We had such
a good time at Cindi Laupera.
Speaker 3 (00:17):
It was so much fun.
Speaker 1 (00:19):
Then I think, we know we do these shows every year.
Speaker 2 (00:22):
Yeah, this one, I don't know. This one had a
good It was such a good vibe. I think because
the weather was nice, we weren't dying of the.
Speaker 4 (00:28):
Heat, and it's a Friday. That was kind of fun.
That's always nice.
Speaker 2 (00:32):
The only thing I was a little bummed out about
was because of how the tour scheduled what we had
to do.
Speaker 1 (00:39):
Uh huh, like they we were we kind of were.
Speaker 2 (00:42):
They kept us back there for such a long time
that we had to get back there at a certain
time and then like by the time we went out
and we started meeting.
Speaker 1 (00:48):
People, the lights went out and the show started.
Speaker 3 (00:50):
Yeah, you know, I feel immediately Yeah.
Speaker 2 (00:52):
When we got there, we I mean, we had we
were able to meet people going in, which was fun.
Speaker 4 (00:56):
There were a ton of people on posts though that
were like, oh my gosh, I was looking all over
for you guys.
Speaker 3 (01:01):
I'm bummed I didn't see you.
Speaker 4 (01:02):
Hopefully next time and yeah, it's too bad. I got
a lot of that too.
Speaker 5 (01:06):
But the opposite of that was and this was kind
of cool, but like throughout the whole night, wherever we
were walking or standing, people were calling out to us too.
So it was our people and it's always nice when
you're with I mean, the bulk of those people were
our people, our winners, and yeah, people that listened to
the show.
Speaker 1 (01:22):
Yeah, So a couple of things.
Speaker 2 (01:24):
First of all, listener Michelle here was the coolest thing
that listener Michelle did. So she comes up, so she
loves the show. We had this great conversation with her.
We were all joking around and stuff like that, and and.
Speaker 3 (01:36):
I don't have I don't somehow Benson Boone got up.
Speaker 4 (01:39):
We were wondering if Jake Wesley Rogers sounded like Benson
Boone and he was Cyndey Laupper's opener.
Speaker 6 (01:44):
But we were throwing out names like is he like
Noah Khan? Is he like Benson Boone.
Speaker 2 (01:48):
Yeah, and and and so when the Benson Boone thing
came up, she said something like not unless he was
in Paul's office.
Speaker 6 (01:54):
And now I was like, oh, you're a dial Yeah
when you reference the show we loved.
Speaker 3 (02:00):
Heard that morning. Yeah, amazing that.
Speaker 1 (02:04):
Oh yeah, but yeah, he'll want that.
Speaker 3 (02:06):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:06):
Did you get a picture of her? I'd like to
put it up next to Adam Levine. We had it.
So we also had to take and we were fine
with it. We had to take COVID tests because that
we were going to get a picture with Cyndey Lapper
right before she went on stage because she's headlining our
show and we wanted to say hi to her, and.
Speaker 3 (02:23):
That was her requirement.
Speaker 1 (02:24):
Yeah. I mean and listen, she's seventy two years old.
Speaker 3 (02:26):
Alone to Ron, she's not the only one that asks that. No,
Stevie asks that.
Speaker 1 (02:31):
Stevie Nix saysn't. And she didn't even meet people.
Speaker 2 (02:33):
So yeah, so we so we went backstage and we
went into this room which was great and was Ron right,
is that Ron yet?
Speaker 1 (02:41):
And yeah, fantastic.
Speaker 2 (02:43):
So you know, he was setting up the COVID tests
and stuff like that, and so Chelsea goes, she asked,
Thank god, I asked. Chelsea goes first, sticks it up
her nose, both nostrils, and then he dips it in
the solution and then it goes into the special thing
and then it waits for like ten minutes, wait on
its plate. And then he hands me next.
Speaker 3 (03:03):
But the stick just went on like an empty plate.
Speaker 2 (03:06):
Yeah it was done, Yes, it was already it was.
The test was going through. The stick was done. So
then he's like, okay, you're next, and he hands me
the stick and I'm about to put it in my
nose and I touch it and I'm like, this is wet.
Speaker 3 (03:18):
Thank goodness you. He's like wired wrong one it was.
Speaker 4 (03:23):
I know you would have put my nostril gunk up
your nose.
Speaker 1 (03:29):
The good news is we all are we all are
COVID fet no COVID.
Speaker 3 (03:33):
I mean as a Friday who knows now no no.
Speaker 2 (03:36):
And then Alison made some comment that I don't know,
Subliminally it triggered in my head.
Speaker 1 (03:41):
And I'm like, it's been about two hours, Alison hasn't
not a coke.
Speaker 3 (03:45):
That was so awesome of you.
Speaker 2 (03:47):
And then the refrigerator. I think it was Cyndi Lauper's
like stash for the show. There was because it was
too you know why, there was too much variety. Yeah,
most people and they're like mini fridge, right, have what
they have?
Speaker 3 (03:59):
One of two pepsi. It's not like Seltzer or energy drinks.
Speaker 2 (04:03):
Yeah for cokes f pe like it was like a
right right right, it was like all blue m and ms.
Speaker 1 (04:09):
And I'm like, I.
Speaker 5 (04:10):
Didn't even ask. He grabbed it and handed it to me.
And he's a Pepsi is a pepsi place. It's like
laser's palate.
Speaker 1 (04:17):
Right, which I knew it was special.
Speaker 3 (04:18):
I'm like, I know, you are constantly my hero.
Speaker 6 (04:20):
And then we had to dispose of the evidence before
we left, So then I took like a big sip
and then we.
Speaker 2 (04:25):
Got rid of and she's like, no, I'm gonna throw it.
I'm not gonna I'm gonna keep it. I'm like, oh,
what a wasted she had? You got half that candown
I did. I was very excited.
Speaker 1 (04:32):
Who knew you could gulp quietly like.
Speaker 3 (04:34):
Yeah, but I did under pressure.
Speaker 1 (04:36):
That's awesome.
Speaker 3 (04:37):
I get it done.
Speaker 1 (04:37):
That's how I'm with food.
Speaker 3 (04:38):
Yeah, I can eat.
Speaker 1 (04:39):
I can eat a whole meal in ninety seconds, right, Uh,
not proud of it.
Speaker 2 (04:43):
Tom Cruise Guy was there, George Michael Guy was there,
a Geo wrap.
Speaker 6 (04:47):
I want to just say one of my favorite parts
was going to the Tom Cruise Guy meet and greet.
Speaker 1 (04:51):
Oh my god.
Speaker 4 (04:52):
Honestly, their meet and green was almost bigger than ours.
Speaker 3 (04:55):
It was awesome.
Speaker 1 (04:55):
It forever.
Speaker 2 (04:57):
Yeah, yeah, we had to go back for this one
thing and then we went back out like, I'm like, oh,
Tom Cruise Guy and George Michael are doing a meet
and greet. There was a line they were people were
getting pictured. I'm like, how big is that?
Speaker 1 (05:08):
I love every minute of it. Wait a minute, what
do I What did I put here?
Speaker 7 (05:12):
This is up on stage parallel.
Speaker 5 (05:35):
It was also so awesome that so many of our
people were in the audience and took pictures and video
of us updates and then yeah, we're tagging us and
sending it shout out to the Jersey Mike's LaPier store.
Speaker 4 (05:48):
They made us little signs that said like Jay Towers
on it. They couldn't take them in, which was fine,
but we did get to meet them and they were
so sweet.
Speaker 1 (05:56):
Yeah, really really nice.
Speaker 2 (05:58):
Thank you Jersey Mike you have because that's the other
thing too, like today kicks today we kick off our
eleventh year for Jay's Juniors and you know all that
money race so we can take families with you know,
kids that are have life altering or life.
Speaker 3 (06:13):
Threatening creating conditions.
Speaker 2 (06:14):
Yeah, and like, here's not the executive team or like
the people that we always but these are just the
employees of one location that are like so they're so
honored to do it every year.
Speaker 3 (06:24):
I'm like, wow, Well, and most of the.
Speaker 4 (06:27):
Group was teenagers were at the store and they were like,
oh my gosh, we just love it every year when
it's a day of giving or month of giving, so
that we can help out with Jay's Junior but also
so sweet.
Speaker 5 (06:37):
To that point, I wanted to mention that because you
would think it was all like new kids on the block,
was all ladies of a certain age, it seemed like,
and for sure at Cindy too, but there were a
lot of I told my parents that people the amount
of like eight to ten year olds that were there
dressed up and it just seemed like mom was dragging
them along to a concert.
Speaker 3 (06:57):
It was like, no, they know the music, they.
Speaker 2 (06:59):
Love it, but I know the music of the Four
Tops and the temptations and because of my parents, and
that was totally normal.
Speaker 1 (07:06):
As a kid, you know, it wasn't like that's not
my music. So hi hi hi.
Speaker 8 (07:13):
We were just backstage, I mean right, amazing and so
pretty and we'll put up the picture in a little while.
We take a look at the crowd.
Speaker 2 (07:25):
So so we after we took our COVID tests and
we were able to get a little something to eat,
they wanted us back there, like at a very specific time,
just in case, because what they were going to do
is Sydney Elapera basically comes out from the dressing room
and she makes her way to the stage and she
was going to stop and see us.
Speaker 3 (07:42):
Yeah, it was very Manilow treatment, and we completely get it.
Speaker 1 (07:46):
It was fine with us, you know why. Here's the
other thing.
Speaker 2 (07:49):
Sometimes you go back and you meet the artists before
or and they're you know, they still got to get ready.
Speaker 1 (07:53):
I mean she was show ready. It's like the Cydey Opera,
you know, and love all dressing costume, ready to go.
Speaker 3 (07:58):
When our me and greet with her was over and
our picture was over, she was on the stage before.
Speaker 1 (08:02):
We came back around. Yeah, it wold.
Speaker 2 (08:05):
It was really fast, so we so while we were
waiting there, she has a road manager named Pamela. Pamela's
in charge of like not she's not her personal manager.
This is the person in charge of just like the shows.
Speaker 3 (08:19):
For this year. She said, who did She road managed
for Harry Style?
Speaker 1 (08:23):
Your Style?
Speaker 3 (08:24):
That was her last job and.
Speaker 4 (08:25):
I really wanted her to get into detail about him,
but she wasn't happening.
Speaker 1 (08:29):
I think Pamela liked us.
Speaker 6 (08:31):
She did, as did Lisa. Lisa is Cindy's right hand right.
So Pamela was like, basically, I get it. They do
so many shows. You know, there's people that are like.
Speaker 1 (08:43):
Let me get my phone and let me try that.
Speaker 2 (08:45):
And so she just wanted to know, like where are
you going to be standing? No nonsense, like where are
you going to be standing? So she can walk up,
step in say hello, which she did. She was wonderful, but.
Speaker 3 (08:56):
She's just more than we expected her to be.
Speaker 2 (08:58):
More needed to write yeah, and and and so we
had this position set up and then Pamela goes in
the back and I said to Tie, like take some
test photos and every picture that Ty took, can I.
Speaker 5 (09:10):
Just say something really quick before you get back to
that Pamela put us where we were.
Speaker 6 (09:15):
She didn't want garbage cans and the thing. So when
she finally found where she wanted us proved it.
Speaker 2 (09:20):
She was like right there, right there, and almost like
a don't move thing, right.
Speaker 5 (09:25):
And Alison took that very serious statue.
Speaker 2 (09:28):
Now, Allison went statue right like you did in school.
And so Tye showed me the test photos. I'm like,
this is going to be a terrible picture at Cindy
Laupper because ye had there's no garbage cans or anything
in it, but the sky is behind us and it's
too bright, and it was this is going to be
a crappy picture. I said, what if we were to
turn so the backstage areas behind us and the sun
(09:48):
lights it, it'll be a nicer picture.
Speaker 1 (09:49):
So we turned wrong.
Speaker 6 (09:51):
I was right, But then Alison goes into like panic mode.
She's like, no, Pamela is not going to be halfed.
IM very concerned about how Pamela was gonna feel about that.
Speaker 2 (10:01):
But when Alison goes into panic mode, she doesn't do
it quietly. No, so.
Speaker 1 (10:07):
You do it loud enough where I start to panic
and pace. Not because she's saying anything.
Speaker 2 (10:12):
Wrong, but she's like like because Danny became like, you're
You're not where Pamela said you should be.
Speaker 6 (10:17):
I'm like, well, wait a minute, back at your Pamela's five,
get over here, Jay.
Speaker 4 (10:21):
Most people, if they're panicking, they kind of the wheels
are turning in their head and they might like whisper
things under their breath. Allison's like, well, Pamela is going
to be really mad. I'm just really concerned that Pamela
is not going to be happy with this. And everyone
around us is looking like, whoa is she going to
be okay?
Speaker 2 (10:37):
And at one point, Alison it's like to this one guy,
She's like, is Pamela And the guy's like, who, Like, like,
we know Pamela.
Speaker 1 (10:43):
No one else knows.
Speaker 6 (10:44):
I know, I don't know a little known fact about me.
I'm a fierce rule follower.
Speaker 3 (10:49):
Which are you, because that's why I couldn't know.
Speaker 1 (10:52):
I think you're choosual follower.
Speaker 6 (10:54):
Yeah, but I think I was more concerned maybe, and
in awe of Pamola a little bit more than Sidney.
It was really like we we definitely wanted to impress
sidy at now for too long, but boy did I
not want to get on Pamela's wrong side.
Speaker 1 (11:10):
So then last but not least, so, then who's our
friend that give us the test? Ron?
Speaker 2 (11:15):
Ron Ron's I said, Ron, listen, we need it when
we take this picture. We just need to have the
backstage behind us. Because the son he's like, I said,
I haven't seen Pamela. He goes, I'll go back and
tell her. So he went right into her room to
tell her, so now she already knew. Then she walked
out and Alison goes, Pamela, we're going to see if
you like what we've done here, and she she had
(11:36):
zero cares about it.
Speaker 3 (11:37):
She has zero cares.
Speaker 5 (11:39):
She's like, cool, Yeah, I was like, well, for ten minutes,
I've literally just been shaking.
Speaker 3 (11:46):
Thank you.
Speaker 1 (11:47):
It was so fun.
Speaker 2 (11:49):
And then Sidney Opera on stage saying good enough from
the Goonies, which I which blew my mind because I
haven't heard that. I was so happy to hear this song.
Speaker 3 (12:00):
Because she doesn't, I said to herself, didn't she say?
Speaker 1 (12:03):
She said, I that, Yeah, I don't normally do all this.
Speaker 2 (12:08):
Because that's like the Goonies was like my childhood, you know,
and that like fans went wild for that too.
Speaker 1 (12:13):
And then she's saying I drove all night, which we love.
Speaker 6 (12:15):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (12:16):
It was a really good yeah, good song.
Speaker 4 (12:18):
I she has so many hits, but the only one
that always pops at the top of my head is
either Time after Time.
Speaker 3 (12:24):
Or A Girl the One Mind. Yeah, those are the
ones that get played all the time.
Speaker 1 (12:29):
One other thing, really quick.
Speaker 2 (12:30):
We we had literally twenty one minutes, a twenty one
minute break to get a quick something to eat and
tie our videographer who did this great video you can
see on Facebook and it's on all of our instagrams
of a little recap of the night. But we go
in We're going to sit down and eat really quick,
and we're like, Ty, what are you going to get?
And he's like, well, I'm I'm uh what.
Speaker 4 (12:52):
Iscarian, I'm really only eating fruit in fish right now.
Speaker 2 (12:56):
Yeah, fruit and fish, that's it. And I'm like, oh,
maybe they have salmon. Don't see salmon?
Speaker 3 (13:01):
And also we have twenty minutes.
Speaker 1 (13:03):
He's like, it's all right if I don't. I'm like, oh, no,
we got to eat something. We've got it.
Speaker 2 (13:07):
We've been here, this in hot we've been for hours.
We got to eat something really quick.
Speaker 3 (13:10):
Yeah, I asked, I asked our girl if there's a
fruit platter, right.
Speaker 1 (13:13):
So alson answer there's a fruit platter.
Speaker 2 (13:14):
She's like, well, there's fruit on like a dessert that
we could I say, can we put that on a platter?
And then out of nowhere tis like it's all right,
I'll take a chicken quesada, look at chicken casa dia.
Speaker 1 (13:24):
What he goes, well, when you have to eat, you
have to eat.
Speaker 3 (13:27):
It's like my no meat thing except for the pepperoni
that was on my pizza.
Speaker 4 (13:31):
Well what blew my mind even more though, is we
felt so bad that we were going to have to
make him break his diet or whatever because that was
the only option. And then he goes, well, yeah, it's
been about a week since I've had chicken.
Speaker 3 (13:43):
And I'm like, wait a minute, it just started that diet.
Speaker 4 (13:47):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (13:47):
It's like saying it's taking us feel bad for twenty minutes.
And he was like, Pamela, he gave no care, no
chicken casadilla, No, I'll do it at all.
Speaker 3 (13:55):
Problem.
Speaker 1 (13:56):
It's like saying like I don't drink.
Speaker 3 (13:58):
I don't have a problem.
Speaker 1 (13:58):
I just I don't drink. I don't like olcohol. I
don't care about alcohol, Like they don't have water. They
don't have water. Give me all right,
