Time for feeling good in the d It is brought

most premature baby has defied all medical odds to reach
his first birthday. Nash Keen was born July fifth, last
year in Iowa. He was born one hundred and thirty
three days early at just twenty one weeks. Whoay, he
(00:23):
weighed ten ounces at birth, which is less than a
great for it. Whoaw, it was twenty four centimeters long.
Here's Nash's mom talking about everything here.
Speaker 2 (00:33):
I kind of felt numb almost. I didn't think he
was gonna make it because he was just so young.
But we were so hopeful that, you know, we made
it to the twenty one weeks, and we were just
we just wanted to give Nash a chance. But doctor
McNamara was the on call doctor that week, and I
just remember him being very honest with us and upfront saying,
you know, this is very touch and go. Minute by minute,
(00:54):
he's so chill. His smile literally lights up a room,
like he's just so happy all the time.
Speaker 3 (01:00):
How great is that?
Speaker 4 (01:01):
Bless those nurses and doctors in the NICU. Oh, I
know that baby and that family.
Speaker 3 (01:05):
She cited I know nothing about any of this. She
cited that we made it to the What is twenty
one like the magic? Had it been week twenty?
Speaker 1 (01:13):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (01:14):
It's way.
Speaker 3 (01:14):
It was way too early. It was one hundred and
thirty three days early. So you think your baby's not you.
It's like things haven't been formed yet, but clearly they were.
So I'm just I just focused on how she said
we got to twenty one week right, which must mean something.
Speaker 4 (01:29):
I wonder if she was having some complications beforehand and
they were just grateful to have made it that far
because it maybe they didn't know.
Speaker 3 (01:36):
But did you say that baby was ten ounces?
Speaker 2 (01:38):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (01:40):
Greatful? Oh my gosh.
Speaker 3 (01:42):
Well that is a great story.
