Speaker 1 (00:00):
Here's the deal. We got a couple of Fox and
News headlines here this morning. We'll start with this. Our
friend Caid Cunningham from the Detroit Pistons, so we love Kate,
did something really cool. He did a Caid Christmas on
Detroit's West Side, giving families a holiday meal, brand new bikes,
gifts and gas and grocery cards. The business are sitting

(00:20):
right now nineteen five and return Friday to play Atlanta
at home.

Speaker 2 (00:27):
That's really really nice there.

Speaker 3 (00:29):
I am so bummed that I missed the year that
Cad came to our welcome party.

Speaker 4 (00:35):
Oh that I were sick. That was you and I
did that.

Speaker 2 (00:39):
That's right, that was crazy.

Speaker 4 (00:42):
You don't get sick with the cold weather moving in.

Speaker 1 (00:46):
Warming centers and shelters are open across metro Detroit, including
rec centers and public libraries.

Speaker 4 (00:50):
You can find a full list on Fox two's website.

Speaker 5 (00:52):
Also, can I just obnoxiously remind you of this, For
very little effort, you can put together little outside houses
for hopefully you don't run into any dogs that are side.
You usually don't, But I'm just saying, you know, we
do it every year. We make like four or five

(01:14):
of them. But I'm telling you, even the little bunnies
and the raccoons. If you if you got woods by
your house, like anywhere, it's just an easy thing to do.
Hay in there hey is ideal because it won't freeze
or get wet, So it's just a nice thing to
do when it gets this cold. Like I just pulled
in here this morning, and you can obviously you can't
make them for the deer. I was like, because you
know there's deer here at Fox two and I'm like,

(01:35):
I'm sorry, little deer, you must.

Speaker 1 (01:36):
Be really cold right now, let's hurdle out ringcam has
deer in my backyard, like all looking in the house.

Speaker 4 (01:44):
Cold.

Speaker 3 (01:45):
By the way, Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams also donated
a ton of winter coats to Detroit students in need.

Speaker 2 (01:52):
So it's a big like sports weekend. Oh okay, so
these people do not look like a.

Speaker 5 (02:01):
Santa on our phone tape and I can't get it much.

Speaker 1 (02:06):
Hundreds hit downtown Detroit this weekend wearing little more than
speedos and holiday cheer for the tenth annual Santa Speeder
Run Santa Speedo Run.

Speaker 2 (02:15):
Wasn't it a little cold for that?

Speaker 4 (02:17):
That's the point.

Speaker 1 (02:18):
I think it raises money for nonprofits, including the Ruth
Ellis Center and the greening of Detroit.

Speaker 3 (02:24):
Larry was you know who was on our trip. He's
from Angels of Hope. Apparently he wanted to bring a
speedo down and Debbie was like, absolutely not.

Speaker 2 (02:33):
No one needs that. Literally, no one needs to see this.

Speaker 1 (02:36):
If Larry wears speedos or you wanted to do it
to be funny, I think wears the message Joe for
a fact.

Speaker 5 (02:41):
Yeah, speaking up, since we brought up Larry, I got
a text from Larry last night and hi, Ellison, can
I get your address for the Christmas card this year?
Guess who's made it on the Larry and Debbie Christmas card?

Speaker 2 (02:53):
Christmas cards are the best.

Speaker 1 (02:54):
Finally, by the way, did you get that Disney sweat
trip this past week?

Speaker 3 (02:58):
No?

Speaker 5 (02:58):
I got this a long time ago. Oh you just
pulled it out of the No, I've been learning it.

Speaker 2 (03:02):
It's just zipped up so you can see the d Oh.

Speaker 1 (03:04):
Yeah, all right, I know you sometimes you get a
little uh usually give yourself a little Disney experience, though.

Speaker 2 (03:11):
Did I? I didn't see you this time around? No
Cinderella notebook, No, I thought about it.

Speaker 1 (03:15):
Oh, Hawaii's Kilauea volcano has been erupting since Tuesday, at
one point shooting lava four hundred feet in the air.

Speaker 2 (03:23):
Oh, it's angry.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
It's one of Hawaii's six Acti volcanoes, is known for
blasts as tall as skyscrapers.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
That'd be kind of cool, you know, if you're on
vacation there.

Speaker 1 (03:34):
And finally, this morning, a new study says Americans born
in the nineteen nineties could reach retirement with home ownership
rates nearly ten percent lower than their parents. Researchers say
that leading that's leading to riskier investing in less workplace stability,
which could widen the wealth gap.

Speaker 5 (03:50):
Ever, all that means, well, that's a way to go,
or just do the paycheck paycheck paycheck to paycheck thing,
work till you're eighty, right, whichever one you want to do.

Speaker 4 (03:58):
That influence your job will work out. I'll tell you what, guys,
I just got this new perfume.

Speaker 2 (04:04):
My nine dollars uh deposit has gone to forty, has it? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (04:10):
Really? Yeah?

Speaker 5 (04:11):
My last Facebook deposit was forty dollars.

Speaker 1 (04:14):
For you new listeners, Alison's been making quite a hole
on Facebook.

Speaker 5 (04:18):
If you get forty dollars a month times twelve, I am.

Speaker 4 (04:23):
Let's do some fuzzy mask.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
Let's do so quick man.

Speaker 4 (04:27):
What could that be?

Speaker 1 (04:28):
Well, let me look here. Forty times twelve is four
hundred and eighty dollars a year.

Speaker 2 (04:34):
Is something you're on your way? Please like a photo.

Speaker 1 (04:38):
If you can get to one hundred and twenty bucks,
you'd be making fourteen forty eight years just from nonsense
on Facebook.

Speaker 4 (04:44):
Silliness, silliness.

Speaker 2 (04:46):
It's one rent payment, that's right,
