Speaker 1 (00:00):
I've got a couple of Fox News headlines today. Ford

(00:02):
is eliminating three hundred and fifty jobs in its connected
Vehicle software division across the United States and Canada, about
five percent of that team. The company says the move
is part of a larger effort to improve efficiency. This
isn't just the vehicle software go ahead.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
It's this isn't just to them, But I mean, this
is just in corporate America. But I always find that
I find that funny when companies let go of a
bunch of people for efficiency, for efficiency or to streamline
or to make things better.

Speaker 3 (00:33):
So then they can wear eight hats and not do
any of them super well.

Speaker 2 (00:37):
Yeah, and we may not be talking directly about Ford,
but other companies sure, And you know, but I.

Speaker 1 (00:43):
Think they all do it. I mean they do.

Speaker 2 (00:45):
You can feel it in any business that you're in
when you know, the one person that you need help
from is busy like doing like eight other things.

Speaker 1 (00:52):
Right oh yeah, yeah, and right, And they're being more efficient,
But you wonder what's happening to the people that are
keeping like how are they handling it? What they've lost
that amount of people. GM is developing a new battery
chemistry that could extend ev range in the lower costs.
By twenty twenty eight, the new rectangular battery cells will
produce thirty three percent more energy with current designs moving

(01:13):
away from the pouch style cells. I don't know what
speaking of foreign I don't understand any of that. But basically,
they're going to get your car. If you have an
electric car is supposed to last longer. And finally, William Porter,
the man behind some of Pontiac's most iconic muscle cars,
including the nineteen sixty eight gto, early Firebirds and Transam,
passed away at ninety three. Oh. His designs helped define

(01:36):
Detroit's muscle car era and remain staples at events like
the Woodward Dreamers. There's not Pontiacs anymore. No, No, I
don't think so. No, No.

Speaker 3 (01:46):
Every once and I always thought that the G six
was super cute. Yeah, and then there was a song
about the G six Remember that.

Speaker 1 (01:54):
Oh that's right, like it like a G Yeah. Oh,
And this whole time I thought they were talking. I
thought they were talking about a plane. Oh were they think?
They Probably were? I just associated with a cover. Oh okay,
we go, Well there you go. Look at you be
in a gear head. See you at the Dream Cruise.
